  • AMD's Strix Halo laptop chip is here - or almost here; at least review embargoes have lifted on the Asus ROG Flow 13 which features it - and it's actually good. (Hot Hardware)

This chip has 16 Zen 5 cores - full size ones, not the smaller and slower Zen 5c - along with 40 RDNA 3.5 cores and a 256-bit memory bus.

CPU results range between solid and blowing everything else on the market into oblivion. On Geekbench 6 multi-threaded, it's 66% faster than its nearest competition - despite both chips having the same number of cores.

The selling point of this chip is the integrated graphics, which AMD promised to be competitive with Nvidia's RTX 4070. Now, they did mean the laptop 4070, which is about 20% slower than the desktop version. But this review includes multiple laptops equipped with the 4070 and the AMD chip's integrated graphics pretty consistently lands in the middle of that pack.

It's not cheap by any means, but Best Buy has a 64GB ROG Flow 13 for $2199, which is not insane for one of the fastest laptops you can buy.

Tuesday Overnight Open Thread - February 18, 2025 [scampydog]

Melania WH 2025.JPG

Greetings and good Tuesday evening. A roundup of random items - house cleaning. Any day with an ONT is a great day to be alive. Still not tired of winning.

Artists gave a couple of the First Ladies very long legs in the link below. Content warning, one portrait in there that will cause you to retch.

Official White House portraits of former presidents and first ladies since 1965.

The White House Historical Association has had an active role in acquiring and donating portraits of recent presidents and first ladies since 1965 when the Association negotiated to acquire a portrait of former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt from the widow of artist Douglas Granville Chandor. Since that time, it has been a goal to acquire contemporary or historic portraits of presidents and first ladies, "either to represent those not in the collection or to replace earlier likenesses judged less than successful."

Quick Hits

Arrests for illegal border crossings have fallen to their lowest level since Trump's last term.

This isn't because of non-enforcement. It's because people aren't coming now.

Apprehensions at the U.S. southern border hit a low mark not seen since the last time President Donald Trump was in office.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehended just 29,116 illegal immigrants along the southern border during the month of January, down from 47,000 in December and hitting a low mark not seen since May 2020, when 32,349 arrests were made at ports of entry, according to a White House press release.

Overall, CBP apprehended 61,465 illegal immigrants at the southern border in January, down 36% from the prior month, the release notes, citing new CP data.

The situation on the border turned markedly with the change of administration.

The numbers, which were shared with ABC News, shifted even more dramatically after Trump took office, with apprehensions falling 85% between Jan. 21 and 31, an 85% reduction from the same time period in 2024.

The numbers continue a string of news showing reductions in attempted border crossings under Trump, including a Fox News report last week that revealed the daily average of known gotaways -- illegal immigrants who enter the U.S. while avoiding arrest -- have fallen to just 132 per day since the beginning of February, at 93% reduction from the highs seen under former President Joe Biden.

Thomas D. Homan
@RealTomHoman

In the last 24 hours the US Border Patrol has encountered a total of 229 aliens across the entire southwest border. That is down from a high of over 11,000 a day under Biden. I started as a Border Patrol Agent in 1984 and I don't remember the numbers ever being that low. President Trump promised a secure border and he is delivering. ~ Thomas D. Homan, US Border Czar

Clay Travis
@ClayTravis

In less than a month Trump has completely shut down the Southern border. All via executive action and without any bills by Congress. Remember that Biden & Kamala said Congress had to act for the border to be secure. That was a lie.

Supposedly, leftwing financial institutions are scaling back/watering down their DEI commitments.

I don't believe this is real. It is illegal to discriminate based on race, but this lawless practice was encouraged under Biden, who would protect these institutions from prosecution.

They're not really abandoning DEI -- they're just removing the admissions that they're engaging in illegal discrimination. The practice will continue sotto voce until Trump starts prosecuting them.

And until America's right-leaning lawyers unleash class action lawsuits against them, pummeling them for billions in collective damages.

America trusts Trump on every single issue, with the sole exception of LGBT issues, oddly enough. And even there, Trump is only barely mistrusted, 51% to 49%.

Scott Rasmussen
@ScottWRasmussen

Stunning numbers from @YouGovAmerica. It's no surprise that voters trust @RealDonaldTrump on immigration, the economy, inflation, an trade. But the YouGov survey shows most voters trust him at least a little on 18 of 20 issues including the environment, race relations, and

The only exceptions are transgender issues where voters are evenly divided and LGBTQ issues where 51% do not trust him at all (but 49% do).

I would guess the most shocking numbers to Dems would be that 58% trust him on the Supreme Court, 56% on guns, 55% on Democracy.

This suggests that @realDonaldTrump has picked his enemies well in the early days. He has put D's in the position of having to defend illegal immigrants and the federal bureaucracy. More than 80% of voters consistenly say illegal immigration is bad for America. 60% believe the federal government is a special interest group that primarily looks out for its own interests.

So.... there's an asteroid flying towards earth and the odds of it hitting us just increased.

The good news is that the asteroid is still seven years away.

The chances of an asteroid as large as the width of an NFL field striking Earth continue to tick up, according to NASA.

The recently discovered Asteroid 2024 YR4 now has a 2.6% probability of impact, or 1 in 38 chance. That’s up from a 1.9% probability following and an initial 1% chance in late January. On the flip side, this means that there is a more than 97% chance the asteroid will whiz past Earth.

The celestial body is estimated to be between 130 and 300 feet wide and is expected to swing close to Earth on Dec. 22, 2032. The width of an NFL field from sideline to sideline is 160 feet.

This is all because Trump cut USAID spending!!!!

The leftwing NeverTrump grifter group Princibuhls First is descending on the DC area again, to counter-program the CPAC gathering.

Deb Heine wrote about this collection of gold-plated grifters back in 2020.

Never-Trump Grifters Hold 'Summit on Principled Conservatism'

By Debra Heine

March 2, 2020

She misspelled "princibuhled" but I'll let it slide for now.

A number of America's leading Never-Trump luminaries, including Bill Kristol, Evan McMullin, Rick Wilson, Amanda Carpenter, Tom Nichols and Ramesh Ponnuru, held a conference in Washington D.C. on Saturday to an audience of about 200 supporters.

Timed to compete with the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the "Summit on Principled Conservatism" was hosted by Principles First, in partnership with Stand Up Republic, both of which describe themselves as "grassroots" organizations.

Principles First, founded by "conservative" consultant Heath Mayo, claims to be an "entirely self-funded, volunteer organization" that is "committed to rediscovering and championing principles in the 21st century."

Stand Up Republic is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization led by failed 2016 presidential candidate Evan McMullin and his running mate, Mindy Finn to take down President Trump. Stand Up Republic is funded by Ebay founder and left-wing financier Pierre Omidyar and the left-of-center Hewlett Foundation.

The Omidyars have been among the most prolific supporters of left-wing causes for years, American Greatness reporter Julie Kelly pointed out in a ground-breaking report in November of 2018.

According to a 2014 report by the Media Research Center, "Michael Bloomberg, Warren Buffett, Pierre Omidyar, Tom Steyer and George Soros's son, Jonathan are major funders of the left. Together, they have contributed at least $2.7 billion since 2000 to groups pushing abortion, gun control, climate change alarmism and liberal candidates."

Omidyar has also donated millions to left-wing billionaire George Soros's pet projects, "including the Open Society Foundations, a main funder of Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and the Center for American Progress," Kelly reported.

The Open Society Foundations lists as its goals: "creating a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants, cutting the number of prison inmates by 50%, enacting comprehensive immigration reform, increasing welfare handouts, and raising taxes to redistribute wealth."

No principled conservatives would align themselves with someone who has dedicated his life to defeating conservative causes. But Kristol, who actively opposes Republican candidates and tweets about his "inner socialist," clearly is no longer a conservative, if he ever really was one.

...

Rick Wilson is known for using degrading language to describe Trump supporters. Other "principled conservatives" on the panel referred to Trump supporters as "crazies" and "cultists."

...

"Your fellow panelist has called Trump supporters 'ten-toothed rubes' and has referred to them as being unable to read," Chamberlain pointed out. "Do you think those comments are appropriate?" he asked the panel. Tim Miller, a Bulwark contributor, responded by saying he disagreed with Wilson's comments, but Wilson himself doubled down.

...

"Everyone in this room has a principled conservative stand, okay?" Wilson continued, (although it wasn't actually clear that everyone in the room was conservative). "And I'm sorry that the 'f-- your feelings' crowd can't take the fact that I'm a pirate and that I talk the way I do," Wilson said to Chamberlain.

"The fact of the matter is, I'm not going to give you a participation trophy and let you wear some mantle of victimization because you've embraced a guy who puts kids in cages," Wilson added before Chamberlain noted, "That was started with Obama."

"You embraced a guy who shits on the rule of law of the Constitution ... and if I call you a name, tough," Wilson said.

One of the most amusing aspects of modern "politics" (I'm not sure it really is politics) is watching short fat blobs of high-estrogen dough like Rick Wilson pretend to be tough-guy "pirates."

Jeff wrote about the Delta airliner that crashed in Toronto yesterday. Unbelievably, no one was killed. Around 21 people were injured as the plane crashed and flipped upside down. So, with another plane crash, it was time for CNN to insinuate that this air disaster was Donald Trump's fault because he's shrinking the size of government, also known as attacking CNN's viewership.

NBC "News:" Trump Plans to Fire Very Senior Bureaucrats Resisting His Voter-Mandated Agenda

From Jeff Charles at Townhall, NBC "News" is very sad.

This week, the three sources told NBC News, career employees at high managerial levels, namely Senior Executive Service and General Schedule 15 employees, may be removed from agencies across DHS -- not to reduce the size of the workforce but to remove employees whom the administration sees as potentially standing in the way of goals the Trump administration has for the agency.

DHS, which includes Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, is the primary agency tasked with enforcing U.S. immigration law. Trump has relied heavily on CBP to secure the southwest border and on ICE to ramp up arrests and deportations of undocumented immigrants living in the United States.

Charles adds:

A former senior Biden administration official told NBC News that those targeted "are career people who have an influence on policy and strategy in those positions."

An official in the current administration argued that the individuals who will be released "willfully grind things to halt" when it comes to enacting President Trump's agenda -- especially as it pertains to immigration policy.

Meanwhile, a Democrat DOJ ringer has resigned rather than carry out her lawful order to investigate Biden's lawless spending of taxpayer monies on "climate change."

Leader of Trans Terrorist Cult "the Zizians" Arrested in Maryland

Note that the propaganda organization AP refuses to label this a trans terror cult. They only obliquely mention that, among their murderous cultist passions, is an interest in "gender identity."

Oh? What do they think about gender identity? Are they skeptical of transgenderism, AP? Are they "TERFs" like JK Rowling, perhaps?

They don't want to say that everyone involved in the cult is trans, and either a murderer or a conspirator to murder.

What does this cult believe in? AP won't say.

A Maryland court on Tuesday ordered a blogger known as Ziz who leads a cultlike group connected to six killings held without bail.

The blogger, Jack LaSota, 34, of Berkeley, California, was arrested Sunday along with Michelle Zajko, 32, of Media, Pennsylvania, and Daniel Blank, 26, of Sacramento, California. They face charges including trespassing, obstructing and hindering and possession of a handgun in a vehicle.

The Zizians have been tied to the killing of U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Maland near the Canadian border in January and five other killings in three states.

LaSota, Zajko and Blank were arrested in Frostburg, Maryland, on Sunday afternoon.

The judge in the case ordered LaSota held without bail citing concerns about her being a flight risk and a danger to public safety. Prosecutors said LaSota "appears to be the leader of an extremist group known as Zizians" that has been linked to killings.

The three were expected to appear remotely for a bail hearing Tuesday at Allegany District Court in Cumberland, Maryland, court officials said.

The Zizians have been tied to the death of a woman during an attack on a California landlord in November 2022, the landlord's subsequent slaying in January, the December 2022 deaths of Zajko's parents in Pennsylvania and a highway shootout last month in Vermont that left U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Maland and a car passenger dead.

A Frostburg resident told police he wanted three "suspicious" people off his property after they'd parked two box trucks there and asked to camp for a month, according to police documents.

They were dressed in black and two wore gun belts holding ammunition, according to police. Officers found a rifle in the back of one truck and a handgun on the front floorboard. Zajko, who refused to put her hands behind her back and was taken to the ground, also was carrying a handgun, police said.

Maland, 44, was killed in a Jan. 20 shootout following a traffic stop in Coventry, Vermont, a small town about 20 miles (32 kilometers) from the Canadian border. Felix Bauckholt, a passenger in the car, also died, and the driver, Teresa Youngblut, has pleaded not guilty to federal firearms charges.

Officials have said the guns they were carrying were bought by a person of interest in the Dec. 31, 2022, deaths of Richard and Rita Zajko in Chester Heights, Pennsylvania, and that Youngblut had been in close contact with a person of interest in a homicide in Vallejo, California.

Maximilian Snyder, who applied for a marriage license with Youngblut in November, is charged with the Jan. 17 stabbing death of Curtis Lind, a Vallejo landlord who had survived an earlier attack by members of the Zizian group and was set to testify against them.

Officials have offered few details of the cross-country investigation, but Associated Press interviews and a review of court records and online postings tell the story of how a group of young, highly intelligent computer scientists, most of them in their 20s and 30s, met online, shared anarchist beliefs, and became increasingly violent.

Do they have anything else in common, AP?

I thought it might be worth mentioning that they're all transgenders, but I guess your News Judgment says otherwise.

Their goals aren't clear, but online writings included topics such as radical veganism, gender identity and artificial intelligence.

Oh, "gender identity" is one of the topics they write about.

At the middle of it all is "Ziz," the leader of the strange group whose members are sometimes called "Zizians" in online forums.

LaSota published a dark and sometimes violent blog under the name Ziz and, in one section, described her theory that the two hemispheres of the brain could hold separate values and genders and "often desire to kill each other."

This is a man that the AP is calling a woman, by the way.

LaSota, who used she/her pronouns, and in her writings says she is a transgender woman, railed against perceived enemies, including so-called rationalist groups, which operate mostly online and seek to understand human cognition through reason and knowledge. Some are concerned with the potential dangers of artificial intelligence.

...

Pennsylvania state police records describe Daniel Blank as Michelle Zajko's housemate in Vermont. In January 2023, police investigating the shooting deaths of Zajko's parents detained both LaSota and Blank at a hotel where Zajko was staying. Blank was not charged. LaSota was charged with obstructing law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

If you found AP's selective and defensive report of the facts confusing -- it was intended to be -- John Sexton offers a much more direct and candid report.

Ziz attracted a group of other trans people who were associated with a movement called rationalism which was developing in the Bay Area, especially around Berkeley. Though highly educated, Ziz and members of his group seemed to want to live off the grid without being burdened by the need for careers or even regular jobs. Initially they intended to create a flotilla of boats captained by rationalists and they bought an old tug boat in Alaska and sailed it to California.

The old boat eventually became too much for them and they abandoned it. The new plan was to create a fleet of box trucks in which the group's members could live. Initially they lived on rented land in Vallejo, California but they soon stopped paying rent. The owner of the land, Curtis Lind, planned to have them removed by law enforcement at which point members of the group attempted to murder him. He survived, despite being run through with a samurai sword, and managed to shoot and kill one of his attackers.

Ziz was not charged in that crime though he was found to be at the scene despite having previously faked his own death. The other two members of the group who attacked Lind are awaiting trial. Lind was supposed to be the main witness against them but last month another person connected to the group murdered him, apparently to prevent him from testifying. A suspect in that case, Maximilian Snyder, has been arrested and is also facing trial.

More at the link. It's one thing for a news organization to soft-peddle the facts about a murderous terror group to protect "marginalized groups." It's another thing entirely to just omit those facts entirely. This is not news, it's Pink News. It's just trans propaganda.

The insanity of this group is undeniable. Not only do they have a habit of faking their own deaths, but, bizarrely, they pretend to be dead in their police mug shots.

Architect of COVID Policy Deborah Birx Now Admits Covid "Vaccines" Not Only Did Not Prevent Infections, But Were Never Even Designed to Prevent Infections; Admits "Vaccine" Only Should Have Been Given to Older/High-Risk People

Well!

The Vigilant Fox
@VigilantFox

NEW: Dr. Deborah Birx admits the COVID shots were pushed on the wrong people, saying the rollout on young people ignored the science.

Now, she tells us.

"The messenger RNA vaccine should have been rolled out for the people that were at risk for severe disease because that's what the vaccine was developed for," Birx said.

She also confessed the COVID shot was never "designed" to prevent infection:

"That is not what the COVID vaccine was designed to do. It wasn't designed against infection."

People lost their jobs under the lie that no one was safe until everyone was vaccinated.

Now, four years later, they admit young people never really needed it--and it wasn't even designed to prevent infection.

The incredible -- meaning, completely predictable -- thing here is that she seems to be blaming other people for what she herself did.

For example, she says that when we say "we believe in The Science (TM)" we must actually follow the science and not just say that as a public relations tagline.

But she's the one who pumped out a ton of lies while claiming "we believe in The Science (TM)." She is scolding us -- "we" erred, she says -- when she was the architect of the scheme of constant, remorseless lies and propaganda about the non-vaccines.

I didn't lie about the non-vaccines. Why am I part of the "we" that must do better, and must tell the truth about what the science actually is instead of corrupting it into yet another Democrat Party moral blackmail propaganda point?

Note that she has already previously admitted that when Trump would give her an order to change the guidelines for "re-opening" and ending lockdowns, she would deliberately write the guidelines in such a way as to require further lockdowns, while lying to Trump to claim that she had obeyed his orders. She also admitted that she would call state and local authorities on the phone to tell them that no matter what the guidelines said, they should ignore them and continue imposing lockdowns.

She thought this was cute and #Brave. She thought she was a real #HerooftheResistance.

I notice that she is nicely non-pardoned.

Judge Refuses to Block DOGE From Auditing the Department of Education

Happy Tuesday!

Finally a non-Hawaiian judge for a change.

A federal judge has denied a request to prevent Elon Musk's team from accessing Education Department data, ruling that plaintiffs failed to demonstrate any illegal dissemination of sensitive student information.

Key Details:

Judge Randolph D. Moss found no concrete evidence that the Education Department or Musk's team had misused or improperly shared student data.

The lawsuit, filed by the University of California Student Association, sought an emergency restraining order, citing privacy concerns.

The judge acknowledged transparency concerns but noted that Musk's team had been granted access under a recent executive order from President Trump.

Diving Deeper:

A federal district court judge in Washington has rejected an effort to bar associates of Elon Musk from accessing the U.S. Department of Education's data systems, concluding that the students who sued had not demonstrated any immediate or irreparable harm.

Judge Randolph D. Moss ruled that the University of California Student Association, which filed the lawsuit, had failed to show that sensitive student data had been illegally disseminated. In his order, he described the plaintiffs' claims as "entirely conjectural," stating that there was no substantial evidence that Musk's team or the Education Department intended to misuse or distribute the information improperly.

DOGE discovered that $4.7 TRILLION of Treasury payments lack any kind of notation for what the payment is actually for, making them almost impossible to trace and verify.

Any system which makes it impossible to detect fraud has been set up precisely to enable fraud.

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), established under President Donald Trump, has discovered that nearly $4.7 trillion in U.S. Treasury payments were processed with an optional, often blank identification code--making them nearly impossible to track. The revelation has prompted immediate changes to federal financial reporting, mandating full transparency on these transactions moving forward.

Key Details:

DOGE found that the Treasury Access Symbol (TAS), a key financial identifier, was frequently left blank in transactions totaling $4.7 trillion.

The Trump administration's watchdog agency worked with the U.S. Treasury to close this loophole, making the TAS field mandatory for all federal payments.

DOGE continues to uncover and eliminate government waste, already reporting an estimated $55 billion in taxpayer savings through spending cuts and contract renegotiations.

Diving Deeper:

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), spearheaded by Elon Musk under President Donald Trump's administration, has made a bombshell discovery regarding federal spending. According to the agency, $4.7 trillion in payments were funneled through the U.S. Treasury without clear tracking due to an often-missing Treasury Access Symbol (TAS). This identifier, which links government expenditures to specific budget items, was optional in the federal system--resulting in payments that were nearly impossible to trace.

DOGE announced the finding on X, explaining that the TAS field has now been made mandatory for all federal payments. "As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going," the agency stated. This change is expected to bring a new level of transparency to federal finances, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are properly accounted for.

The acting commissioner of the Social Security Administration decided to resign rather than to permit the president's appointed man to look into their books.

The resignation of SSA's acting commissioner, Michelle King highlights the growing tension between career federal bureaucrats and the Trump administration's aggressive push to root out government fraud. King stepped down over the weekend following a dispute with DOGE, the cost-cutting initiative led by Elon Musk that has been embedded in various federal agencies, including SSA.

DOGE staffers reportedly sought access to SSA's extensive database, which contains work histories, banking details, and medical records of millions of Americans. While DOGE has been conducting similar probes at the Treasury Department, King's abrupt departure signals potential resistance within SSA to oversight efforts aimed at identifying fraud and inefficiencies.

Good.

The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

Senator Tom Cotton makes all the right noises to make us happy, but his service as a director of exactly the sort of semi-secretive quasi-government organization that the left uses to subvert America and control our foreign policy is deeply troubling.

Take a look at the website of International Republican Institute. It is a mess of political jargon and leftist doublespeak. "Promote inclusivity, Sustainable impact, Women and youth, empowered individuals," and on and on. And it gets better! They partner with other NGOs, like a Bush-sponsored one to support women's rights in Iran and Afghanistan! Because Lord knows, we aren't sending enough money to those two countries. And that's just one of dozens of poorly described connections and programs, seemingly all of which are just feel-good nonsense designed to launder money amongst the elites.

Is Tom Cotton one of them? Is he working at cross purposes to Donald Trump? At the very least he is involved with an organization that is conducting its own foreign policy that may or may not align with the goals and desires of the American people. Maybe he is just a figurehead, using the IRI for free travel and some other perks. Or maybe he is simply on the letterhead and has no substantive connection. Either one is unacceptable.

We are $35 Trillion in the hole, we have a vast unelected bureaucracy that is vigorously conducting its own foreign and domestic policy, and it is incumbent upon our representatives that they forcefully reject exactly this sort of organization. It is a clear measure of their dedication to the mandate that we voted on in November, and we should hold them to that minimum standard.

And if they refuse to disassociate themselves with those organizations, they should be primaried. We do not have the luxury of accepting the continued existence of a fifth column in Congress!

The Morning Report — 2/ 18 /25

Rush4yearson.jpg

Good morning kids. Before diving into the links, just a reminder to my fellow Wisconsinites that today is a primary election day and the most crucial race is for a seat on the state supreme court. We must get out and get Brad Schimel on the court. It could have crucial impact on state and national races going forward especially if we lose the court. Could mean the loss of one or two congressional seats. I know it's brutally cold out there but bundle up and get to the polls.

Important UPDATE. Commenter Eagle WI corrects my mistake:

WI State Supreme Court primary is not until next month. Today's primary is for State Superintendent of Public Instruction. They try to make it as confusing as possible so Republicans don't know when to vote.

Elsewhere, yet another airliner incident, this time up in Toronto where an Air Canada jet managed to flip on its back and injure 18 people.

Meanwhile, the campaign to defang the Deep State bureaucracy continues apace. The significance of this cannot be overstated in that money. That is our money is the very lifeblood that has funds our enslavement and destruction going back decades, which is part and parcel of the Democrats two century campaign to seize absolute power. DOGE and MAGA are for all the marbles. That's not say that Evil will ever give up, because sadly that is not human nature. But denying them the chance to metastasize is what this is about. And the money funds future generations of braindead leftist zombies so taking down the Education/brainwashing apparatus at the Dept of Ed for starters, and then each of us doing our part by involving ourselves in every school district will go along way towards the long prayed for American renaissance.

Make no mistake, the recalcitrant, resistors, saboteurs, scum and traitors that are still embedded in the government will not go quietly:

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth on Monday accused the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of targeting him with a politically motivated audit in the last days of the Biden regime, calling the move a “total sham.”

“Of course the outgoing Biden IRS rushed an ‘audit’ of the incoming SecDef,” Hegseth wrote on his official X account, adding: “Total sham.” Hegseth included a photo of an IRS document stating that he and his wife Jennifer owed the government $33,558.16. The IRS said the sum needed to be paid immediately to avoid further penalties. . .

. . . While the details of the IRS case against Hegseth remain sketchy, the incident is reminiscent of how the IRS was weaponized against political enemies during the Obama era.

Beginning in 2010, the IRS began targeting conservatives groups for audits and excessive tax-exempt scrutiny.

Whoever is running the IRS needs to shut this crap down now. And, I do not know if they were granted immunity by Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants Biden as he was carted out of the White House, but Lois Lerner and John Koskinen and all their immediate underling little Eichmann apparatchiks need to be investigated and prosecuted out the wazoo until they wind up in a Federal Prison for the rest of their miserable existences.

And of course, as the estimable Margot Cleveland observes, the locus of the battle will once again be in the courts, which by their nature are biased and corrupt in the main as much or most of the rest of the government, at the state and federal levels.

More than a dozen blue states which sued Elon Musk and DOGE on Thursday will push for an injunction against the Trump Administration later this morning. If granted, the temporary restraining order, or TRO, will immediately halt the president and the federal agencies’ ongoing efforts to cut waste, fraud, and the embedded members of the bureaucratic resistance. And unlike the various TROs entered to date in other cases which served merely as paper nuisances, a TRO freezing out Musk and DOGE would be devasting — both to the president’s agenda and our constitutional structure.

On Thursday, fourteen states filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk, DOGE (the Department of Government Efficiency), and President Donald Trump in a federal district court in Washington, D.C. The lawsuit, New Mexico v. Musk, alleged Musk, “an unelected, unconfirmed government official, is exercising unprecedented executive authority in violation the Appointments Clause of the Constitution.”

. . . The Trump Administration sensed as much too, responding to the states’ proposed TRO within hours, entreating the Court to, if it “is inclined to grant the States’s request,” delay any action until it could hold a hearing on Monday morning, to “allow Defendants sufficient time to submit a fuller response.” On Sunday, apparently acquiescing to the brief delay, Judge Chutkan entered an order setting an 11:00 a.m. hearing on the case. While the Trump Administration’s weekend response was, by necessity, abbreviated, it nonetheless concisely established why no injunction — much less the overbroad and legally unsupported version sought by the blue states — should be granted.

per the equally estimable Daniel Greenfield:

In the weeks since President Trump took office, federal judges have arrogated to themselves the authority to control how the government spends money, whether the government can issue orders to government personnel and even the content displayed on government websites.

Federal judges have claimed that the White House can’t offer buyouts to federal employees, can’t fire political appointees from the previous administrations, can’t pause funding, can’t cut funds to government programs, can’t change formulas allocating government grants and also can’t remove transgender ideology from government websites put there by its predecessors.

And if the White House doesn’t even control government websites, what does it control?

Conversely, federal judges can control any and all of these things at their whim and will. And that means that they control everything and that actual elected officials control nothing at all.

In the aftermath of a landslide election, government unions have contended that the Department of Government Efficiency should not be able to access federal databases and that USAID and potentially other unwanted parts of the federal government cannot be restructured.

Federal judges have mostly agreed that the government ought to be run by judges for the benefit of government employees and that the people who elected Trump have no say in it.

Greenfield's headline and subhead say it all really, "Judicial Coup: Federal judges are illegally seizing power by blocking Trump’s policies."

This is inarguable, to which I ask yet again, does Trump have not only the stones to go tell the Judiciary all the way up to SCOTUS to piss up the rope they are trying to hang him with but the juice to do so.

Let; say for argument's sake he declares the Courts out of order and instructs al agencies to ignore any ruling from any bench that contravenes his Executive powers. What will be the reaction of his cabinet heads and of the employees under them? We know how the Democrats and RINOs will react? What can they do in practical terms?

In other words, how many divisions do they have?

But that said, in the tragic event that another Democrat is elected, legitimately or otherwise like 2020, again? Doesn't what Trump did set a very dangerous precedent?

I suppose what I'm driving that is that regardless of all of this, is this not an indication that Trump or no Trump, America as it was supposed to function no longer does and indeed no longer even exists. A judicial coup indeed, and as the stolen election of 2020 proves as well as the persecution via the DOJ and false flag phony insurrection planned in part or completely by Pelosi Garland and Wray perhaps with McConnell, an actual coup that the miracle of last November has exposed, if not reversed. That will depend upon whether DOGE has the power to withstand the resistance and if Trump has a party behind him to actually pass legislation that will withstand challenges from the aforementioned corrupted courts.

Institutions and prtocol/tradition etc. are only as legitimate as the morals and ethics of those who swear to uphold and defend them.

On the international front. J.D.Vance is making all the right heads explode as the Germans are shown as the lousy hypo-krauts that they are vis a vis censorhsip, which is funny considering Eric Adams is now the one invoking Hitler.

And, As Trump is moving to end the bloody stalemate between Ukraine and Russia before this can expand into a continent wide if not global war all to enrich the military industrial complex here and abroad, he has lifted the embargo on heavy weapons to Israel. In particular, heavy aerial bombs.

On top of that, this from Team Trump:

National security adviser Mike Waltz on “Fox News Sunday” reacted to a news report from last week that indicated Israel is likely to strike Iran’s nuclear program by saying that President Donald Trump will never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon.Waltz was asked about what the U.S. involvement would be in a strike on Iran, given that Israel might need U.S. assistance with destroying Iran’s underground facilities.

“I can speak to what the president has repeatedly said and that is Iran can never have a nuclear weapon,” Waltz said. “That not only would be existential for Israel, I think it would be existential for the entire world, because it could kick off a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.”

. . . He concluded, “I’ll promise you this: President Trump is absolutely serious, deadly serious, when he says Iran can never have a nuke, and certainly not on President Trump’s watch; they are an irrational actor that we cannot allow to have their finger on the button.”

I assume this plus shipping the IDF heavy ordnance would seem to indicate that Trump has given Bibi the green light to administer a giant Qom shot to the mullahs.

And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

Have a great day and remember my fellow Wisconsinites, get out and vote!

We Finally Have a President Not a Presidon't Cafe

The thousands of boulders below the cliff where 700 year old Dunstanburgh Castle stands, are known as 'The Death Rocks'

And for good reason, when wet these rocks are extremely hazardous and incredibly slippery. Getting to the waters edge is difficult and many have been seriously injured trying.

The view from the shoreline at sunrise, over the boulders, when they are wet is well worth it.

Former Biden Fundraiser Lindy Li: Biden Was Given Drugs Before His Public Appearances

I missed this from last week.

Ms. Li said that after Joe Biden's disastrous CNN debate that June, Hunter Biden commandeered the White House and sat in on sensitive meetings without a security clearance.

"That's who was basically running the show. So, Hunter basically batten down the hatches after the debate to make sure his father would only receive intel he pre-approved," she told Shawn Ryan.

There's more: You remember how we joked Biden was doped up for campaign events and that this was really Obama's third term? Yeah, she alleges all of that was true, too (via RealClearPolitics):

...

She told the "Shawn Ryan Show" a lot of dirty details about the final days of the Biden presidency, including the widespread belief among Democratic insiders that Biden was being "doped up" before campaign events and that former President Obama was actually running the White House through a network of longtime Biden hangers-on.

[...]

"We were told that President Biden got some sort of injection or whatever before he went on stage in North Carolina" the day after his debate with Trump, she said. "He would be like PeeWee Herman in one moment and then be like Mahatma Gandhi the next. It would just be night and day."

This information suggests the next question from Shawn Ryan: "So who was running the presidency for the last four years?"

"It was for sure Obama's third term," Lindy Li said. "I don't think that's even a question."

German's Plan to "Fight Fascism" Is 100% Fascism, and 60 Minutes Loves It

As CBS's Sunday anchor Margaret Brennan claims "The Nazis weaponized free speech to do a Holocaust," CBS' transcript-hiding propaganda unit 60 Minutes promotes Germany's plan to ban people from criticizing the government or calling for change.

Justice Department Fires 20 Immigration Judges

See if you can find the well-hidden admission:

The Trump administration dismissed 20 immigration judges over the weekend without explanation, as it continues its efforts to reduce the size of the federal government, The Associated Press reported.

Matthew Biggs, the president of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, a union representing immigration judges, said 13 judges who hadn't been sworn in yet and five assistant chief immigration judges were fired Friday without warning.

He added that two additional judges had been let go in the same manner last week.

"You have a president now who campaigned on immigration and removing people from the country on the one hand. And on the other hand, he's actually firing the very judges that have to hear these cases and make those decisions. So, it makes no sense. It's a head-scratcher," Biggs said in a statement, as reported by NBC News.

The immigration court system is severely overwhelmed, with more than 3.7 million pending cases, resulting in lengthy delays. Asylum applications can particularly take years to resolve.

Despite bipartisan support for increased staffing, including additional judges and support personnel, the Trump administration's push for expedited case resolution puts extra pressure on already burdened court judges.

Awww.

Well here's the fact they tried to hide: 13 of these judges weren't sworn in yet. Why is that?

Because these are among the many "Midnight Appointments" Biden rushed into office as he departed the White House to spend more time with his beach house. In other words, they're almost all pro-illegal-immigration saboteurs Biden's aides appointed precisely because they could be depended upon to refuse to deport Biden's Army of Invading Illegals.

Meanwhile, a couple of Republican Congressmen are threatening to impeach leftwing judges who block Trump's agenda through judicial activism.

House Republicans are preparing to introduce impeachment articles against at least two federal judges who have ruled against President Trump's executive actions. The effort, spearheaded by Reps. Andrew Clyde and Eli Crane, underscores the growing tensions between Trump's administration and the judiciary. The move follows rulings that blocked key components of Trump's government efficiency initiatives.

Key Details:

Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) is ing impeachment articles against U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell Jr., who struck down Trump's federal spending freeze.

Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) is targeting District Judge Paul Engelmayer, who blocked DOGE from accessing Treasury records.

Vice President J.D. Vance and Trump have both criticized judges for obstructing executive power, with Trump suggesting judicial overreach may need to be addressed.

CNN's Propaganda Witch Kaitlin Collins Promotes the GoFundMe Page for Luigi Mangione

Remember, CNN has an entire bureau devoted to deplatforming people for "misinforming." They tried to get people deplatformed for saying that some children's hospitals perform sex change operations on children. It's 100% true that they do -- but CNN demanded that LibsofTikTok be deplatformed for saying it, because her "rhetoric" caused "bomb threats."

And here's their 9pm anchor and White House correspondent-- seriously? You've fallen this far? -- advocating for donating to a legal defense fund for a political assassin that AWFLs flick their beans over.

kaitincollinsleftwingassassin.jpg

She deleted the tweet and claimed she only promoted the GoFundMe because it was "newsworthy."

She failed to admit that Mangione's GoFundMe is operated by a fellow CNN contributor, because she's a congenital liar.

CNN chief White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins apparently deleted a social media post after receiving backlash for appearing to promote a defense fund for Luigi Mangione, the alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO killer.

In the post on X, Collins showed a link to a new website launched by defense lawyers for Mangione, who faces charges of first-degree murder in furtherance of an act of terrorism, stalking and other state and federal charges in New York and Pennsylvania for allegedly gunning down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan on Dec. 4, 2024.

Thompson was a married father of two.

Mangione, 26, who was born into a wealthy Maryland family, was arrested at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pa., on Dec. 9 after a multi-state manhunt.

Following his arrest, followers donated over $300,000 for his legal defense.

After reaching out to Collins for comment on the matter, Fox News Digital later received a statement from a CNN spokesperson who said the story was "without any merit."

"This was nothing more than a social post reporting news surrounding the trial," the statement read.

Collins' post garnered criticism from a number of users on X, including The Spectator contributing editor Stephen L. Miller.

@seanmdav

Collins raised money for a cold-blooded assassin and then lied about. Given the threats and attempts against Trump, how is she allowed to keep her hard pass to the White House when she's clearly a security risk? That should go to an actual reporter who isn't trying to raise cash for assassins.
