We Finally Have a President Not a Presidon't Cafe

deathrocksnorthumberland.jpg

Jim Scott Photography

The thousands of boulders below the cliff where 700 year old Dunstanburgh Castle stands, are known as 'The Death Rocks'

And for good reason, when wet these rocks are extremely hazardous and incredibly slippery. Getting to the waters edge is difficult and many have been seriously injured trying.

The view from the shoreline at sunrise, over the boulders, when they are wet is well worth it.

Arctic fox kit says hello.

Owl in Predator stealth mode.

An elk bugles. Okay I can see the difference between an elk and a moose now.

Osprey catches a barracuda.

A TV so high-def it'll knock your cat on its ass.

Taking your hawk out for a fly.

Cow comes skipping over for a Mooo-by Snack.

Out of control.

Baby elephant just wants to feel your face.

Dog uses all of his ninja stealth skills to sneak up on a treat dropped on the floor.

I don't know if I buy the caption for the below video. A suspiciously large number of animal vids have heartbreaking emo backstories, almost as if people are making those backstories up.

But there is no doubt that this dog is smitten with this picture.

The Lavender Mafia are the homosexuals who joined the priesthood as a dating service and are responsible for most if not all of the sexual abuse cases that were made public. Many of them are now in positions of power in the Church, including our current Cranky Franky, the anti-pope. That's why everything out of his mouth causes bewilderment. He doesn't speak about theology, or pastoralism, or anything else remotely Catholic. He speaks about his sexual orientation.

The Lavender Mafia was responsible for the abdication of Pope B16.

Absent a full public repentance, they will all end up in Dante's Inferno, The floor of hell is paved with the skulls of bishops.

57 Ground loop aways involves a combination of roll pitch yaw. Anytime you have yaw or roll you have the other because they're coupled in flight or ground. Ground loop is where you come in crabbed or post touch down get a lateral accel. When you yaw and correct the outside turn gear is forced down causing that side to drag and you get a yaw reversal. This goes back and forth and can amplify. Lots of ground loop incidents. If that's what it was.

83 So, I used to live outside the capitol city. Back in the early 80's I was doing IT contracting for a "Beltway Bandit." A contracting outfit making bank on the Feds.

Coming into DCA (Reagan National) one late afternoon in bad weather I seriously thought we'd crash. We were on the "River Approach" following the Potomac River from Carderock/Turkey Island. It's a winding path from the west, to the east, then suddenly turning south to the runways.

Several times, looking out my window I saw nothing but trees, buildings and vehicles. Really close. And at that point I'd flown perhaps 4 or 5 dozen times in and out of that airport.

Sphincter got a workout that day.

92 Went on a tour the other day (Australia) where the boat captain had “trained” the osprey to know that when they saw his boat roof, they were going to get a fish.

He tossed a fish out half a dozen times to six different osprey, and every time the osprey were circling before the toss.

Hubby has some spectacular photos of the flight, dive, grab in the water, and fly away (fish in talons).

(He injected the fish with air so the fish did not sink)

This was one of my favorite tours on this trip. While there was more to it than the osprey, that was very unique.

Nope - I will get bloodwork done again tomorrow, as well as seeing my oncologist. I have been on this medication for 3 weeks; I am hoping my numbers have gone down even more.

I also have to see the oncology ophthalmologist tomorrow - one of the side effects is issues with the eyes, and last week he saw something he really didn't like.

Also, this med has caused my phosphorus levels to go up. - I am on another medication to bring that down, but most of my phosphorus comes from "organic" sources (no processed foods), so I am not sure what can be done about that. Just keep an eye on it, I guess.

I am sure that we will find a combination that works! 😊❤

As a long term California resident, I'm convinced our election system has been severely compromised by a disastrous combination of bad policies (jungle primaries, motor voter-driver's licenses for illegals), out-right fraud, ballot harvesting, voting'season' rather than day, importing vast quantities of third world peasants, and a feckless and impotent California GOP.....

I don't understand how the statewide ballot proposition votes can generally swing right of center (most of the results consistent with how I voted) but the state and national representatives and statewide offices swing left (d) by 70-30 margins....?

It very well may be hopeless...

Now, on top of it all, we're looking at the near-end of gasoline with refinery closures imminent and no outside sources of gasoline due to our special 'smog-reducing' blend.

Even though I no longer need gas to commute to work I don't want to be forced into an electric car.

Issue is Chevron may close their two California refineries which supply about 1/3 of our gasoline. Phillips 66 just closed their Carson, Ca refinery.

And in the house, pretty soon we won't be able to buy a natural gas hot water heater (or furnace) so next time I have to replace it I'll have the additional cost/delay of wiring in an electrical outlet to power the thing.

I don't understand how California government has gone from being the servant to being the master of the people.

About 1000 people are aged 220-229. One person's age is listed as 360-369.

Posted by: Kindltot at February 17, 2025 09:10 PM (D7oie)

The standard British Army field gun at the start of the war was the 18-pounder. IIRC, at the start and for quite a while the only the shells for it were shrapnel shells. Because war of movement was the doctrine. Nothing heavier than the 18-pounder and nothing but shrapnel shells in direct support of infantry and cavalry were needed, because there wouldn't be enemy field fortifications.

So the high command lied to the troops. Telling them shrapnel would destroy barbed wire. Because there was little to nothing else to fire at the wire belts in No Man's Land and German trenches for a year or two.

I'm willing to bet all of that is laundered monies going into the pockets of several well heeled Congress persons. They know it's bogus, the SS administration knows it's bogus but with a wink and a nod the money keeps flowing and everyone involved gets a cut.

It's not 'just' USAID, or the Social Security Admin or.... whatever. It's all of it. Every Agency, Bureau and Department. Not a single program anywhere is being funded. Only the bureaucratic drones get paid while the remainder of the budge gets scarfed up by the politicos.
