Senior Dogs Cafe

The Stryn River Valley, Norway

Forty two years ago, the cartoon animation video game Dragon's Lair hit the arcades.

On vet's orders, this man is giving his senior dog a traction stretch and the dog is loving it.

Blind senior dog smells the flowers.

A flower farm in Japan.

This poor cat wedged himself behind a door to dig out the kibble that had spilled there, but the dog got the best of him.

Some kids thought they'd do a drive-by squirting but grandpa didn't survive two world wars to get soaked by a bunch of wet-nosed brats.

Dog wants a dumpling, but only if you dip it in the soy/vinegar sauce. I get it. All the flavor's in the sauce. The dumpling just tastes like rubbery wheat.

Polite dog requests a tuck-in.

An animal shelter has a very satisfied customer.

Good samaritans rescue a stray dog trapped on a busy highway, and wind up with a new dog.

Adopting an old dog that no one else wanted.

Senior dog has a puppy's bounce, just a little slower, is all.

A senior citizen adopts a senior dog who had spent 700+ days in a shelter.

Senior dog tippy-taps.

NEW: Jasmine Crockett calls Trump supporters *MENTALLY ILL* -- then immediately calls for bipartisanship:

"This idea that we don't care how many people get hurt, we don't care how we prostitute our service members -- you know, thinking that you have your own special little army that's for you ... it is sick. It is really sick. And anybody that supports it is also sick."

"We've got a mental health crisis in this country because everyone -- no matter how you affiliate yourself -- should be against Trump. Period. This is not partisan for me. Like, I would give anything to have -- sad to say -- George Bush. Like, give me any regular Republican nowadays, and I would be happy."

"I don't know how far he has to go before we can come together and just say, 'Enough is enough.' Like, this should not be partisanship."

Video here. It's a Black Woman Speaking Now (TM), so I want all you jamokes to keep your racist mouths SHUT and your ears WIDE OPEN to hear HER TRUTH (TM).

Democrats always say that they totally like and respect retired or dead Republicans. The current ones, not so much.

By the way, if you don't know about Black Woman Speaking Now (TM), there's a really racist trend of black women insisting they have a special right to be heard above all others based on their race and sex. Michelle Obama claimed, WITHOUT EVIDENCE, that black women just weren't complaining enough.

I think this has its basis in the "Progressive Stack" on college campuses, with "marginalized" voices promoted and dominating. Old gnarled-lesbian AWFLs are in the streets singing, "Trust Black Women, Black Women Lead the Way."

This is pretty fucked-up Race Cult of a movement if you think about it for two seconds.

EXCLUSIVE: We were with ICE & HSI Los Angeles as they arrested a Salvadoran alien w/ an active deportation order who has convictions for murder & attempted murder in LA County, but ICE may not be able to deport him due to a protection he got in the final days of the Biden admin.

ICE says ALEXANDER ALFREDO PALACIOS GUEVARA is a Surenos gang member who has had an active deportation order since February 2024. He is a convicted murderer, and also has two prior convictions for attempted murder, all in Los Angeles County.

During his ICE arrest, he repeatedly told me, on camera, that he shouldn't be deported because he has "CAT".

It turns out, his claim was true. ICE wasn't aware during his arrest, but in the last days of the Biden admin, in December 2024, Guevara had been granted what's known as "DCAT", or Deferred Removal under the Convention Against Torture, meaning he can't be deported to his home country because he fears he will be tortured there.

The decision was made by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), under the Biden Department of Justice, on 12/18/2024.

ICE will keep Guevara in custody & seek to deport him to a third party country, but they are waiting for SCOTUS to rule on their ability to do so, after a federal judge in Boston blocked third party removals earlier this year.

ICE, under the Trump admin, is outraged that a decision under the Biden admin is currently stopping them from deporting a convicted murderer & alleged gang member who has a final deportation order & received his due process.

ICE statement to FOX:

"This criminal alien should never have been roaming the streets of Los Angeles. Not only is he a member of the ruthless Surenos gang, but he also has multiple convictions for murder, assault and rape or sexual abuse of a minor. A highly unusual Biden-era legal decision from December allowed this dangerous criminal to live in American communities. Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, we are removing public safety threats as it always should have been."

Guevara told me to call his immigration attorney in LA. I did, multiple times, and also emailed her, asking about his case, his criminal history, and who he fears will torture him if he is deported?

I never got a response.

Trump: I'll Decide Within #TwoWeeks Whether I'll Send Bombers to Take Out the Iranian Nuke Sites

Rapid Response 47
@RapidResponse47

.@PressSec shares a message from President Trump: "Based on the fact that there's a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks."

Trump doesn't want to alienate the minority of his base that has gone full Code Pink, so he wants to delay making a decision. There are several things that could happen that could make it unnecessary for him to decide at all, thus allowing him to skate past this political headache without upsetting anyone (except the people who demand he affirmatively join Iran's cause and save them from the wrath of our allies in Israel, like Tucker Carlson).

First, the Iranian regime could actually agree to "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER," at least as far as their nuke programs. As the situation gets worse for them, they might well go back on their vow to never, ever give up their nuke program. They might agree to denucularization and the UN's atomic energy regulators could be allowed to come in and take all the enriched uranium and the enrichment equipment away.

Second, the Iranian regime could collapse. In which case, a deal might be reached with the successor government to evacuate nuclear materials out of Iran.

Third, Israel might just take care of this all themselves and spare Trump the bother of having to give a controversial order. While Israeli planes are far too small to carry the 30,000 pound Massive Ordnance Penetrator that is designed to take out very hardened underground bunkers, they could airdrop in commandos armed with huge amounts of explosives to physically carry them into Fodrow and set the charges on the walls of the place. It's a man-made cave under a mountain; with enough explosives and some smart engineering, it can be collapsed.

Also, as David Strom suggests, while the Israelis don't have any warplanes that can carry a 30,000 pound munition, they do have C-130 cargo planes, and such massive cargo lifters have been used to drop ordnance in the past.

He links this article suggesting that Israeli C-130s could drop the MOP.

There is certainly a precedent for C-130s dropping absolutely massive bombs out of their cargo holds, both old and new. The BLU-82 Daisy Cutter was dropped by C-130, primarily to clear landing zones, during the Vietnam War. A modernized fuel-air weapon known as the GBU-43 Mother Of All Bombs (MOAB) is in service today, and it was used with devastating results in Afghanistan in 2017. So why not a super-heavy penetrator?

Dropping a weapon weighing nearly 30,000 pounds out the back of a C-130 would certainly be something to behold. The MOAB clocks in at nearly a third lighter than MOP. Still, MOP or a similar weapon could be designed to maximize the C-130's airdrop envelope and not exceed it, and should have no problem fitting inside of and being released by a C-130.

The problem is that the C-130 is the opposite of stealthy, and would not survive an attempt to deliver the bomb if Iran could get its air defense missiles to lock on it.

But do they have many of those left? Israel has focused on taking out Iran's air defense grid since the first seconds of the war, and they continue taking them out. Can they degrade those capabilities so much that a big fat clumsy C-130 can fly in without being attacked?

Dems In Disarray: The DNC Is Broke-Ass as Megadonors Close Their Wallets

I mentioned this in last night's Quick Hits but didn't actually bother to read the article.

John Sexton reports it's full of good stuff.

By "good stuff" I mean the Democrat Party is now basically a slap-fight melee 8th grade girls and their gay besties.

Just months into the tenure of a new party leader, Ken Martin, the Democratic National Committee's financial situation has grown so bleak that top officials have discussed whether they might need to borrow money this year to keep paying the bills.

Fund-raising from major donors -- some of whom Mr. Martin has still not spoken with -- has slowed sharply. At the same time, he has expanded the party's financial commitments to every state, and even to far-flung territories like Guam.

Fellow Democrats are grumbling that Mr. Martin, who quietly accepted a raise after taking the post, has been badly distracted by internal battles. So far, they say, he has been unable to help unite his party against Republicans, who control the federal government.

...

"What they are seeing is headline after headline of incompetence and infighting, and I think that is a real problem not just for the D.N.C. but for the larger Democratic brand," he said. "We need to come together and focus on the issues at hand. That's got to happen now. And I mean today. And if that can't happen, we need to shift course."

...

Part of the bumpy beginning appears to be fallout from a bare-knuckled fight for the chairmanship. With the spoils going to the winner as usual, Mr. Martin has pushed to install allies in some key posts -- and remove supporters of his vanquished rivals.
"Some of the changes will leave people feeling as if they don't have a seat at the table," said Donna Brazile, an influential former party chairwoman and a current D.N.C. member, who did not endorse a candidate or vote in the race for chair. "He has his own inner circle. I'm not in it, and I don't want to be in it."

...

Mr. Martin had offered to keep the two top union leaders -- Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Federation of Teachers, and Lee Saunders, the president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees -- as members of the D.N.C. But he would not renew their plum assignments on the powerful Rules and Bylaws Committee, which controls how the party nominates its presidential candidates.

The Hogg episode also consumed and exasperated party leaders for close to two months.

"This is worse than some high school student council drama," said Representative Mark Pocan, a Wisconsin Democrat.

And now mega-donors are refusing to donate.

Six people briefed on the party's fund-raising, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss its finances frankly, said big donors -- who are an essential part of the party's funding -- had been very slow to give to the party this year as Mr. Martin solicits contributions.

...

Senior D.N.C. officials have discussed the possibility of borrowing money in the coming months to keep the operations fully funded, according to two people with direct knowledge of the private discussions who insisted on anonymity.
Mr. Martin acknowledged those talks.

...

[T]he party's total cash reserves shrank by $4 million from January through April, according to the most recent federal records, while the Republican National Committee's coffers swelled by roughly $29 million. A new report is due this week.

The party out of power often falls behind the one holding the White House. Still, the current financial gap is large: $18 million on hand for the D.N.C. entering May, compared with $67.4 million for the R.N.C. Hefty chunks sit in special accounts that cannot be used for operational costs.

In the first four months of the year, only three people gave $100,000 or more to the D.N.C., according to Federal Election Commission reports. The party said it had received three more six-figure donations in May and June from individuals.

...

"People invested more money than they ever had before, they dug deeper than they ever had, and they are quite frustrated by the result," Mr. Martin said of big donors.
"They want answers. I don't take it personally. I wasn't in charge."

One recent New York event with Ms. Harris did not bring in as much money as some had hoped, raising roughly $300,000, according to people briefed on the matter who insisted on anonymity to protect relationships. The sum was a fraction of the $1 million price for a single top-end ticket to a New York fund-raiser headlined by Ms. Harris last fall, when she was the nominee.

They're surprised that no one wants to hear this Space Cadet talk about time and Venn diagrams.

Tough guy Marc Elias -- Hillary Clinton's catspaw for funding the fake Steele Dossier and pushing it to the media and Obama FBI -- folded like a cheap suit when Ed Martin told him to stop representing David Hogg.

...

At one point, Mr. Martin directly called a lawyer, Graham Wilson, who works at the firm of the Democratic superlawyer Marc Elias, to express dismay that the firm was also working for Leaders We Deserve, Mr. Hogg's political action committee. The firm subsequently dropped Leaders We Deserve as a client, according to two people briefed on the matter who insisted on anonymity to discuss private conversations. A D.N.C. spokeswoman said Mr. Martin had never instructed the law firm to end its relationship with Mr. Hogg's PAC.

Martin alienated the Democrat-Media Party's billionaire super-donors:

One challenge for Mr. Martin in wooing big contributors is that during the race for D.N.C. chair, his campaign criticized his chief rival, Ben Wikler, the chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, for his ties to some of the party's largest donors, such as the billionaires Reid Hoffman and Alex Soros. Shortly after Mr. Martin won, he told The New York Times that the onus would be on donors to mend any fences.

It's up to the donors to mend fences? Like, they should apologize if they want to give him more millions of their dollars?

Was he absent the day they taught Grifting and Political Grifter School?

Mr. Soros has not heard from Mr. Martin since then, according to a spokesman for the billionaire. Mr. Martin said he had tried to connect with Mr. Hoffman but had "not had a chance to reach out to Alex yet."

But don't worry -- they've got a lot of irons in the fire.

Why, they've started their own Democrat Party Podcast!!!

He added that new initiatives he had begun, including a "war room" to press the party's message and the state investments, would pay long-term dividends. Another early Martin project is a new streaming show on YouTube, "The Daily Blueprint," which is filmed in a studio with high-end production.

The show has drawn a minuscule audience so far, with some episodes scoring fewer than 1,000 views.

Why would they need a podcast? The entire establishment media are bitter partisan activists all-in for the Democrats.

But Democrats and the Media continue pretending the media isn't just the Democrat Party's communications shop, so they have to go through this pantomime of creating a Democrat podcast to get the Democrat talking points to the public.

Sixty one percent of the Democrat-Media Party wants the Democrat-Media Party's leadership replaced.

More than half of Democrats agree party leadership should be replaced amid infighting, according to a new survey.

Thursday's Reuters/Ipsos survey featuring self-identified Democratic respondents found that about 62 percent backed the idea that party leadership should be replaced, while 24 percent did not support the idea, and 14 percent did not provide a response or did not know.

To borrow a line from, I think, the coach of the 70s super-loser version of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: How do you feel about the Democrat leadership's execution?

We're in favor of it, said 62% of Democrats.

Western Leftists Attempt to Storm the Egyptian Border to "March to Gaza," Get Rekt by Normie Egyptians Who Are Sick to Death of AWFLs

This happened over the weekend.

When gray-haired white liberals take to America's streets for "No Kings" protests, the only danger they're exposing themselves to is ridicule.

But what happens when progressive protesters head to a foreign war zone?

Last weekend, the "Global March to Gaza" found out.

Thousands came from wealthy European countries like Ireland and Luxembourg, joined by activists from the developing world as well.

They planned to get into Gaza through Egypt, evading Israel's blockade -- but it was the Egyptians who stopped the marchers.

It turns out the locals did not take kindly to strangers involving themselves in the life-or-death politics of the neighborhood.

Egyptian authorities confiscated passports and phones, arrested some of the marchers and gave them all the chilliest of receptions despite the desert heat.

Nor were the police the only ones giving the wealthy white would-be saviors of the Palestinians a hard time -- throngs of ordinary Egyptians shouted abuse and tussled with the clueless do-gooders.

...

It's a basic psychological trait of the Western progressive that he (or she, or whatever the pronoun) believes both that the West is the guiltiest, most racist, most imperialistic part of the world, and that Westerners like him (or her, etc.) understand exactly what the rest of the world needs -- and are just the people to deliver it.

Western progressive morality is the most imperialist thing of all, especially when it's posing as anti-imperialist or "anti-colonial."

And when people like the Egyptians, who actually know a thing or two about suffering imperialism -- and at times perpetrating it, too -- tell Europe's or America's wannabe white messiahs they aren't welcome, how do the protesters react?

Instead of singing a merry "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" on the bus taking them away to be deported, they can be heard in a video shared on X chanting, "F--k you, Israel! F--k you, Egypt!"

For the first time in my life I would be proud to join an Egyptian mob beating up Westerners.

Emails Show Biden DOJ Officials Scheming to Contrive Any Charges They Could Against Trump, Even Attempting to Prosecute Him for... Appearing on the J6 Prisoner's Protest Song

Democrats totally support everyone's right to protest, right?

And not just their violent transgender street revolutionaries, right?

Internal FBI emails reveal that rogue agents and prosecutors in the Biden DOJ were looking for ways to pile on new criminal charges against Donald Trump over the Jan. 6 Capitol riot -- this time over his involvement with the J6 prisoner choir, based on a single partisan news article.

The 2023 emails obtained by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and revealed exclusively to The Post are an example of the nitpicking malice of anti-Trump lawfare that tainted special counsel Jack Smith's investigation, during Joe Biden's presidency.

Mv<"Can we do some work to nail down Trump's role in this," M.v Cooney was a deputy special counsel who worked on both the Robert Mueller and Smith get-Trump special counsel investigations.

"According to this Forbes article, Trump recorded the Pledge of Allegiance at MAL [Mar a Lago] and Kash Patel [now FBI director] and Ed Henry [a former Fox News host] were also involved," Cooney wrote in the email chain.

He recorded the Pledge of Allegiance with some political prisoners. Quick, let's charge him with conspiracy to sing.

"The profits are routed to an LLC run by Henry, and proceeds are intended for families of incarcerated J6 defendants -- but there is apparently a vetting process that excludes families of defendants who assaulted police officers.

"I asked Ahmed [likely prosecutor Ahmed Baset, who was fired earlier this month] to preserve this last night. I'll talk to Maria/Erin and Julia about doing some follow up here to nail down Trump's role."

Cooney also instructed colleagues to look at starting "some process on Ed Henry's LLC," presumably a legal process such as a subpoena, search warrant or other court-authorized actions to gather evidence.

His email was forwarded to eight agents and DOJ staff, including notorious anti-Trump FBI Special Agent Walter Giardina, who responded two days later to say he was investigating the claims in the Forbes article about Trump and the J6 prisoner choir: "Esther and I are working on this today. We're going to put together our findings at 2 and get something to you shortly after that."

Giardina was "Agent Zero" in a lot of overzealous FBI actions involving Trump and his allies, including the investigation of Trump White House adviser Dr. Peter Navarro on contempt of Congress charges for refusing to appear before the House committee investigating the J6 riot.

It was Giardina's FBI team that arrested Navarro as he was about to board a plane at Reagan National Airport in 2022, put him in leg irons and threw him in jail instead of simply issuing a summons for him to come to court, as the federal judge overseeing the case later said while criticizing the heavy-handedness.

Meanwhile, Democrats cry when they're arrested for charging at a female cabinet secretary.

Anderson Cooper Hires New "Super Agent" As CNN Gets Ready to Can Its Expensive Ratings-Poison Anti-Talent

For the first time ever, more people are watching TV via internet streaming than are watching TV through broadcast or cable, combined.

More Americans are watching TV via streaming platforms than both broadcast and cable combined for the first time ever.

The finding comes from Nielson's monthly Gauge report, which was launched four years ago to provide insight on what viewers are watching, as well as how they are watching it. The latest report found that streaming accounted for 44.8% of total TV viewership in May--the largest share on record. Meanwhile, broadcast and cable TV only made up 20.1% and 24.1%, respectively, for a total of 44.2%.

...

Previously, the Gauge reported another big milestone for streaming platforms. In July 2022, for the first time, streaming topped cable viewership. At the time, it accounted for 34.8% of viewership while cable made up 34.4%. Broadcast made up 21.6%. However today, the combined total for both cable and broadcast viewing still falls behind the percentage of monthly streamers.

So everyone knows the cable channels and broadcast networks are dying, and dying quickly. Every year from now forward, they will see big yearly declines in viewership.

The broadcast channels will probably survive, diminished but still in business, as they just shift over to streaming.

But the cable channels? With everyone cutting the cord, they can no longer depend on all those forced fees from consumers for a hundred channels they never, ever watch.

I cut mine when I got sick of paying for ESPN, which I never watch, but takes something like one third of your cable bill payment. And the idea that I was paying for CNN and MSNBC -- and Fox, too -- just cinched it.

To hell with these channels. I'm not paying $100 a month just because every once in a while I watch Dual Survivor or Reno 911.

You might know that Warner-Discovery is in deep debt it can't get out of -- $40 billion in fact.

Warner-Discovery is taking all of the companies that might actually be profitable one day -- its streaming services and its movie studio -- and keeping them.

All the basket-case cable channels will be put into a new company called Global Networks. This company will contain the dying CNN and other POS channels, and will also be filled with, get this, most of Warner-Discovery's $40 billion in debt.

I guess they'll try to sell this Lehman Bros. tranche of sub-sub-sub-subprime properties to some sucker out there. But who's going to buy expensive, dying cable channels while also assuming the huge amount of debt?

It might be one of those free sales -- if you take on the debt, you can have these dying channels for free.

But... that's not free. That's taking on billions in debt to own dying channels.

Warner-Discovery is in such dire straits that even its CEO is taking a huge paycut.

CEOs do not take paycuts. Except if the company is in real trouble, and they have to cut everything, even their own pay.

Warner Bros. Discovery is cutting CEO David Zaslav's pay after shareholder backlash

-Salary from $22M to $6M
-Stock bonus target will shrink from $23.5M to $7.5M per year

With that background, you now appreciate why Vanderbilt-fortune nepo-baby and Deep State catspaw Anderson Cooper, is suddenly seeking new representation.

If Zazlav is cutting his own salary from $22 million to $6 million, what are the odds that Anderson Cooper gets to keep his $18 million?

Before you answer: The guy they've put in charge of the Basket of Deplorables cable channels is known in the industry as a slash-and-burn hatchet man that you bring in to fire lots of people to keep a company from bankruptcy.

Coincidentally enough.

You know why I think he's taking a paycut?

So he can turn to people like Jake Tapper and Anderson Cooper and demand they take a paycut, too.

A dark cloud hangs over CNN headquarters as staffers brace for layoffs and a likely sale of the network amid another reshuffling by its parents company.

'I'd say the mood remains really grim,' a CNN employee told Fox News, in the wake of last week's restructuring announcement from Warner Bros. Discovery.

'People are uncertain.'

Meanwhile, CNN mainstay Anderson Cooper just signed with a new talent agency for the first time in decades - a move Variety reported was is a surefire sign he is open to new opportunities.

LOL. "He's open to new opportunities." Sure.

Another guy who's just itching to get into this Podcast Game that everyone's talking about!

I can't wait to see the semen-hued Nepo Baby read ads for Squarspace, Fum, and Factor.

...

The staffer added: 'I think they've telegraphed clearly that more cuts are coming.'

The insider noted that Wiedenfels' 'remit is not to grow stuff.'

'This company is a cash-flow giant with shrinking revenue. Like that's the deal,' the source said. 'It's merely a matter of how fast it shrinks. That's why the assets were split.'

Wiedenfels has already managed to reduce WBD's $55billion debt by $21 billion in less than two years.

His appointment by WBC CEO David Zaslav comes after several rounds of layoffs at his behest.

Less than five months ago, CNN laid off 200 staffers - all from its struggling TV division. WBD has engaged in repeated rounds as well.

A staffer told the Daily Mail at the time of the most recent CNN firings that the network had become 'bloated' after Warner Bros.' merger with Discovery in 2021.

'And we don't have streaming yet so - it's hard to imagine it doesn't get worse,' the CNN source further told Fox, referring to an anticipated portion of CNN CEO Mark Thompson's long-in-the works restructuring plan.

...

'Zaslav killed this place. He killed it,' the source said.

'The last few years under Zas has been a disaster in terms of what he has done,' the person added.

...

A third staffer who spoke to Fox also appeared to believe a collapse at CNN is imminent.

'I'm trying to figure out what I'll do next when the whole thing collapses, but I don't even know when that will be,' the source said.

Cry moar.

This Fox News report mentions that the Basket of Deplorable Channels company will be saddled with the bulk of Warner-Discovery's massive debt.

It also says:

Industry critics like Puck correspondent Dylan Byers have predicted doom and gloom for the future of CNN, suggesting it will meet the fate of HLN, which he has noted "no longer exists."

I sure hope Andrew Breitbart is looking down and laughing in a not-approved-by-God kind of way.

The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

What to do when traditional conservative belief that government should not involve itself in markets, runs smack into national security concerns?

Every time the government tries to pick winners and losers, the taxpayer loses. From sports stadium subsidies to redevelopment zones to ridiculous subsidies for favored industries like "Green Energy" and EVs, the only people who come out better off are the politicians who pushed through the cash grabs and the businesses that took the free money. We taxpayers end up footing the bill, and don't get much for it.

And when there is only a single player in the market, like the production of rare earth metals, it gets even worse. Giving cash to the only player in town raises the barriers to entry into the market, and that makes it more difficult for potential competitors to push prices down and supplies up.

Trump mulls using defense powers to fund rare-Earth projects

The Trump administration is developing a plan to use Cold War-era powers to prioritize and fund rare earth projects it deems critical to national security, people familiar with the matter said.

Officials are discussing using the Defense Production Act to tap financing, loans and other means for rare earths element-related projects, including mining, processing and other downstream technologies to bolster the U.S.'s capability to build a domestic supply chain, the people said. A specific course of action or a timeline have yet to be finalized, the people said.

MP Materials Corp., the sole domestic producer of rare earths, would be a prime beneficiary. Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg is working to line up funding for the company, people familiar with that matter said. The Nevada-based mineral processor has received millions in funding from the Defense Department. [bolding mine]

But we need these materials to maintain our technological lead in many things, not least of which is our military technology. So a rational conservative will hold his nose and support this sort of economic inefficiency, but only for the short term!

The best action by far would be to decrease the regulatory burden on potential competitors, so they can enter the market without having to spend years navigating the byzantine world of environmental and safety regulations, not to mention the watermelons who emerge from their swamps to contest every single mine and oil well and power plant and any other capital project that would improve our lives and bolster our independence from malign players throughout the world.

The Morning Report — 6/ 19 /25

Whoopirepressed.jpg

Good morning kids. from friend and friend of he blog Bob Zimmerman whose daily links from his own excellent Behind the Black dot-com website make him our sort of unofficial science reporter, comes the late breaking news that during a static test firing of a new Starship rocket at Boca Chica, a massive explosion took place.

Given everything going on here and abroad, my initial thought was okay, Iranians? Chi-Coms? Antifa? or the Deep State? Bob replied "I think it is simply a flaw in the revised engineering of this version 2 of Starship, which failed on the last two test flights as well."

And as for what's going on here and abroad, let's kick it off with an emetic from America's "sweetheart," Ilhan the Bro-Fo Omar with this thoroughly unsurprising if not disgusting emanation of oral flatus:

I'll just give you headline because in a certain sense I actually agree with the statement, just not in the way this joy/buzzer-less savage does. For those keen on regurgitation or in need of a morning emetic, you can click on the link and read the transcript.

America Is Becoming ‘One of the Worst Countries’ in the World

Indeed it is, if we're not there already, by allowing evil, retrograde, dark age cultures into this country, which was intended to be the last great hope for humanity to rise above the tyranny and oppression of the old world, and instead has been poisoned by letting in the flotsam and jetsam of the world such as Omar and her ilk, without even the most rudimentary vetting process and demanding assimilation. Of course to do so would be racist, Islamophobic and contrary to the tenets of our so-called precious democracy (vomit) or so we are perpetually lectured and hectored by our supposed betters.

This cancer started long before this immigration fraudster and purveyor of Taqqiya sunrises set foot on our blessed soil to befoul it. It's funny how those who supposedly escaped tyranny and bemoan what has happened to America are the ones that are promoting and imposing tyranny the hardest, loudest and longest. The shining example of the infection though likely not the start of it would be Herbert Marcuse, Theodore Adorno and the refugees from Nazism Known as the Frankfurt School who came here and hijacked the education system to turn it into the breeding ground of Marxist-Leninism for nearly 80 years. And that's why you see several generations of American-born citizens hurling molotov cocktails at ICE and police, beating up Jews on campuses and calling for the dismantling of western civilization, all in the name of "democracy!" of course!

And speaking of native-born cancer, I bookend Bro-Fo Omar with another reeking degenerate coprolite from straight out of Olduvai Gorge, ready to give you bonk-bonk on the head with the giant Tapir bone last seen flying through the air in 2001 A Space Odyssey. . .

Whoopi Goldberg says black people living in America have it just as bad as people living in Iran.

You mean like Oprah Winfrey who has been so badly oppressed that she is worth in excess of a couple billion dollars? Or you who for God only knows what reason has a daily TV show and rakes in millions from that and royalties from your alleged acting career. Plus every black pituitary case ever who makes millions throwing or running with some ball through some net in between hawking junk food and deodorant?

Forgetting that, it's funny that the foot traffic over the Rio Grande is only from south to north while if Whoopi were correct, Compton and Watts, Chicago, New York, Newark, Boston and every other place that burned to the ground in 2020 and all through the 1960s would be denuded of blacks heading the other way to demand citizenship in Mexico if not as far south as the Ross Ice Shelf.

So oppressed she insists on being rogered by white guys and playing Steppin Fetchit and taking on/defiling a Jewish name while those evil Israelis attack wonderful Iran! Yeah, America sucks.

I cordially invite you to get the hell out and leave all your assets to the USPF - the United Sefton Pastrami Fund. My waistline is a terrible thing to waste.

And of course today being June 19th, which given all of the above is a completely meaningless day devoid of any real significance to anyone with an iota of intelligence, self-respect and decency.

Attention Black America, I am not an oppressor and you are not a victim of anyone other than yourselves, your lack of ambition and sloth if you choose to accept this toxic Democrat narrative that only serves to keep them in power. Yeah, observe a holiday that memorializes victims of the people you vote for election after election.

Meanwhile in the real world, as CBD and I discussed on the latest episode of the podcast it certainly appears as if President Trump is going to commit American forces, likely the USAF to help Israel take out the last and most significant Iranian nuclear weapons facility at Fordow.

If Fordow is flattened, that certainly would be a good thing. Should America be the one to do the flattening is quite another thing entirely, and I'm not very sanguine about that for a host of reasons. Beyond that, if the regime collapses, we cannot be sure of what will replace it. A worst case scenario is the same as what happened in Syria, with the projectile colitis of the Assad regime replaced by the metastatic colon/liver/pancreatic cancer of ISIS AL Qaeda.

Given the breadth and depth of the IRGC in the military and government in general, it is rather unlikely we will see any form of western-oriented government let alone Jeffersonian Democracy. The Chi-Coms and Putin are too heavily invested in the current regime to let it collapse and potentially if not very slowly move back towards the American sphere of influence. Of course, we cannot know the future, but certainly the past and the tea leaves point the way to a tense period of uncertainty as our enemies make moves to protect their interests, which include doing their best to destroy and degrade us, same as it ever was.

Whatever happens, I hope the Iranian regime can be brought down and that the long-suffering Iranian people can be liberated and once again breathe freely. Yes, the Shah's regime was no picnic either so I'm not rooting for a return of the Pahlavi dynasty, though nearly 50 years on and being totally out of power, perhaps the heir is of a different mindset than his father, who being dead for decades likely has not been much if not any influence on his son. It's up to the people and the ex-pat community to weigh in on this.

And the world at large would be safer without Iranian nukes and Iranian terrorism that has slaughtered many thousands of people around the world in the last 45 years including many many Americans.

Of course, Even if Iran is liberated from the Mullahs, Islam itself goes on, same as it has since the dark ages. Sunni or Shiite, its goal is unchanging — the submission of the entire world and the formation of a global Islamic caliphate for all time.

And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

Have a great day.

Quick Hits

New York state is facing a massive deficit so of course Kathy Hochul directs $50 million to be spent on defending illegal aliens from deportation.

Sounds like New York has too much money. Cut their federal funds to zero.

Might as well elect the radical Muslim socialist who has only been an American for seven years and who has screamed "Defund the Police" for most of those.

Here's NYC's next mayor getting violent with cops as he attempts to menace Tom Homan.

Let it burn. Ship every damn illegal criminal who the ACLU blocks from deportation to NYC, Boston, LA, and SF. Let them choke on illegal alien murders and rapes.

The same people say Iran can't have a nuke because they are religious fundamentalists are the same people who hold the heretical belief that we must support Israel's non-stop campaign of murder, blackmail, land theft bombing & starvation of the innocent because 'God will bless those who bless the 1948 created nation of Israel'.

Noted Philosopher Whoopie Goldberg -- real name, Karen Johnson -- says that people living under Iran's terror regime have it better than blacks in America.

THEN EMIGRATE THERE. If you believe it, act on it.

If you don't act on it, you don't believe it, and you should stop lying.

I wouldn't hold my breath.

During a heated exchange on The View, co-host Whoopi Goldberg claimed that the experience of black Americans in the United States is equivalent to the conditions faced by citizens under the authoritarian regime in Iran.

The discussion began when co-host Alyssa Farah highlighted the severe human rights violations in Iran, noting that the regime will "literally throw gay people off buildings" and routinely suppresses basic freedoms. She argued that such conditions are vastly different from life in the United States.

Goldberg immediately rejected the comparison, responding that the US is known to "tie gay folks to the car." She then compared life in Iran to black Americans.

"I'm sorry, they used to just keep hanging black people," Goldberg said. "It is the same."

Farah pushed back, emphasizing that Iran in 2025 is nothing like the modern United States. She noted how if she were to walk the streets of Tehran wearing a skirt and her hair showing, she would be severely punished for it. "I think it's very different to live in the United States in 2025 than it is to live in Iran," she explained.

Goldberg dismissed the distinction, replying, "Not if you're black," a remark that was met with applause from the audience.

Republican Senators Open Hearings Into the "Massive Cover-Up" of Biden's Cognitive Decline
Democrats Boycott Hearings Entirely

More hearings.

Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) on Wednesday accused former Biden Cabinet officials, Democratic members of Congress and the media of participating in a massive "cover-up" to hide what they claim was former President Biden's obvious and alarming cognitive decline during his final two years in office.

"There was a conspiracy to hide the president's true condition by his family, by his staff, by the media, and many elected officials. This was a constitutional crisis bigger than President Biden, bigger than any single election, and one that cannot be absolved by the collective apology of the press and an election where the president's party lost," Cornyn said in his opening statement of a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Cornyn and Schmitt rolled out their accusations against the former president and his inner circle to a mostly empty room after most Democrats on the panel boycotted the hearing.

"Most"? Try "all."

Well, okay, one Democrat showed up for a short time.

Schmitt declared that Biden was "mentally unfit to carry out the responsibilities of the most powerful office in the world."

"Given his mental incapacity, the American people deserve to know who was running the country the last four years," he said.

Schmitt called it "deeply disappointing" that most Democrats on the panel chose to "boycott" the meeting and decided not to call a single witness to testify.

Schmitt claimed that Biden's decline "did not suddenly begin in June of 2024," when he performed disastrously at the presidential debate against Trump.

"It was a persistent and obvious truth that was evident for years to anyone who was willing to see it," he said.

Note that Cornyn asked Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson to testify. They refused.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) revealed Thursday he sought congressional testimony from CNN's Jake Tapper and Axios's Alex Thompson for a hearing later this month on former President Joe Biden's mental acuity while in office.

The pair are authors of Original Sin, a recently published book with revelations about the former president's alleged cognitive decline in the White House and the effort by those in Biden's orbit to orchestrate a "cover-up."

"We reached out to Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, and they were otherwise occupied," Cornyn told reporters.

Neither reporter responded to a request for comment.

Why is this pussy asking for a voluntary appearance? Subpoena them. They claim they have inside information that can help Congress pass legislation to stop this from happening again.

Biden's nefarious doctor and Biden, Inc. business partner also refused to testify. They have subpoenaed him, but I imagine he will just refuse to answer, citing doctor-patient privilege.

House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) today issued a subpoena to Dr. Kevin O'Connor, President Joe Biden's physician, to appear for a deposition on June 27, 2025, as part of the investigation into the cover-up of President Joe Biden's cognitive decline and potentially unauthorized issuance of sweeping pardons and other executive actions.

Chairman Comer recently requested Dr. O'Connor appear voluntarily for a transcribed interview, but he refused. Last Congress, Chairman Comer also requested Dr. O'Connor appear for a transcribed interview to discuss his medical assessments and involvement in the Biden family's influence peddling racket, but the Biden White House blocked his testimony.

So why is Fake Jake Tapper getting a pass?

If Tapper and Thompson had written a book about Trump, and had been asked by Democrats to testify, you can be sure these straight-shootin' non-partisan Servants of the Truth would have been there with bells on.

Maryland Man Arrested for Attempting to Stab a US Attorney
Plus: US Murder Rate Plummets, and Border Patrol Encounters Only 95 Illegals, The Lowest Single Day Number in History

When I say "Maryland Man," I mean it like the Democrat-Media Regime means it.

I mean "illegal alien criminal."

This particular Maryland Man is from El Salvador and currently threatening to slit public servant's throats in the Albany, NY region, after fleeing from other jurisdictions due to a stack of warrants against him.

Oh, and he had just been deported, but snuck back in.

So these foreign army terrorists are trying to kill the US officials who are connected, in a very tenuous way, to their proper deportation.

An illegal immigrant in New York has been arrested for allegedly threatening a U.S. attorney with a knife.

The incident occurred Tuesday in the state capital of Albany when Saul Morales-Garcia, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, allegedly approached John A. Sarcone III, a U.S. attorney for the Northern District of New York, with a knife at a Hilton hotel.

Morales-Garcia allegedly pulled out the knife and lunged toward the federal prosecutor, the Times Union newspaper reports. Sarcone retreated into the hotel.

Security camera footage reviewed by police showed Morales-Garcia wielding a knife and appearing to go after Sarcone as he ran toward the Hilton's lobby. Morales-Garcia was previously deported, then apparently reentered the U.S. recently without authorization.

...

Prosecutors argued that Morales-Garcia is a flight risk, as he has criminal charges pending in Georgia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and federal court, including an active warrant seeking his arrest in Georgia.

Who's going to cure cancer while this scholar is tied up in court?

From the Federalist: Coincidentally with the deportation of thousands of foreign invader murderers and gang members, the US murder rate plunges to the lowest levels in history.

John Lott:

Murder rates are plummeting. While we still have more than half a year to go, Kash Patel, the FBI's director, says that the U.S. is on track to have the lowest murder rate ever. The current record low occurred in 2014 when the FBI reported a murder rate of 4.45 per 100,000.

The question is: why? Law enforcement matters, but it is probably also that Trump is deporting criminal illegal aliens.

According to Patel, "Let good cops be cops," is the answer. "I'm gonna let you, the agents, the police officers, the sheriffs, go out there and do the work you so badly want to do. And I'm gonna give you the resources you need to do it. And I'm gonna take away the politicization and weaponization ... and that's what we've done."

...

But there is another reason. Deporting criminal illegals may cause some illegals to lay low so that they don't risk getting caught. As the Wall Street Journal noted, "ICE operations have received so much attention, prompting migrants to be more cautious, according to agents and leaders."

Since President Trump's Jan. 20, 2025, inauguration, the FBI has actively invested over 1 million hours collaborating with ICE, DEA, and local police to arrest more than 10,000 illegal aliens. They are targeting Biden-era border crossers.

A lot of these illegals have criminal backgrounds and if they cut back on the amount of time they are committing to reduce the risks of getting caught, it could have a noticeable impact on crime rates. If you believe the Biden administration, 9 percent of the so-called "non-detained" illegals who were released into the U.S. had criminal backgrounds (662,566 out of 7.4 million released). That is almost assuredly an underestimate as "non-detained" illegals were overwhelmingly those who had voluntarily turned themselves in at the border, presumably the ones we should be least concerned about. It doesn't count the 2 million "gotaways" we detected crossing the border but failed to apprehend during the Biden administration, nor the unknown millions we never saw coming across the borders. This also assumes the Biden administration didn't underreport criminal backgrounds. And many countries, such as Venezuela, wouldn't provide information on the criminal backgrounds of their citizens.

There is other evidence that Trump's deportation efforts are making a difference in causing illegal aliens to lay low. For example, illegals are leaving the labor force. From January 2021 to January 2025, under Biden's administration, foreign-born workers filled approximately 4.3 million of the new jobs created, based on Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data from the Current Population Survey (CPS). However, in just the last four months, the immigrant workforce has plummeted by 773,000 -- a staggering 18 percent reversal of that growth in such a short period of time.

A March headline in the New York Times notes: "Fearing roundups, many immigrants are staying home."

Three Iranian Planes Fly to Oman as Israel Reportedly Begins Attacking the Ayatollah's Bunkers

Iran just threatened "a surprise that will be remembered for centuries." Then they released a video strongly hinting they were about to attack the US or Israel with a nuke.

But now the The Bee can exclusively report on what this "surprise" is:

bbayatollahgeico.jpg

There are claims on X that three Iranian planes have landed at Oman:

Nick Sortor
@nicksortor

#BREAKING: At least THREE Iranian military planes have just left Iran and landed in Oman, the country mediating U.S.-Iran nuclear talks

A deal may be back on the table!

LFG!

Trump himself does not seem interested in a deal. First he said to reporters, "I'm in no mood to negotiate." Then, later, he posted on Truth Social:

UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!

I really do not know why people who identify as on the right are on such a jihad to save the Ayatollah. They have completely reversed their previous support for military intervention. They haven't just adjusted it. They've fully embraced the Code Pink/Blame America First position, without ever even bother to explain why they've made this dramatic complete reversal of all their past beliefs. It's like this group just radicalized each other on X, all based on emotion and groupthink, so no one is able to say why this change in fundamental beliefs occurred. They just suddenly adopt this extremist left-wing position and then act like you're the weird one for not having joined them in this inexplicable journey to the Blame America First side.

Do they likewise believe that Obama did right in knocking down the Iranian uprising and pledging fealty to the Ayatollah?

A Return to Sanity: Supreme Court Upholds Bans on "Gender Affirming Surgery" for Children 6-3 in a Major Repudiation of the Extremist Transgender Cult
Update: Thomas Warns Against Deferring to Fake "Experts"

Sean Davis
@seanmdav

BREAKING: In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court has upheld Tennessee's law banning genital mutilation of minors under the guise of so-called "trans" surgery.

"The Court's role is not 'to judge the wisdom, fairness, or logic' of [the ban on surgically mutilating minors], but only to ensure that the law does not violate equal protection guarantees," the Supreme Court ruled. "It does not. Questions regarding the law's policy are thus appropriately left to the people, their elected representatives, and the democratic process."

Fox:

The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that a Tennessee law banning specific transgender medical treatments for adolescents in the state is not discriminatory, ruling 6-3 to uphold the law.

At issue in the case, United States v. Skrmetti, was whether Tennessee's Senate Bill 1, which "prohibits all medical treatments intended to allow 'a minor to identify with, or live as, a purported identity inconsistent with the minor's sex' or to treat 'purported discomfort or distress from a discordance between the minor's sex and asserted identity,'" violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.

The ACLU claimed that because girls who experience "precocious puberty" at ages as young as nine are given hormone blockers to delay their puberty until 12 or 13, it's "discriminatory" to forbid girls from taking hormone blockers to stop their puberty altogether, and then flood them with testosterone to create weird and unconvincing fake "boys."

That's like saying the law should treat a doctor who cuts into you to remove a tumor the same as a thug who stabs you on the street.

That law prohibits states from allowing medical providers to deliver puberty blockers and hormones to facilitate a minor's transition to another sex.

It also targets healthcare providers in the state who continue to provide such procedures to gender-dysphoric minors-- opening these providers up to fines, lawsuits and other liability.

Writing for the majority, Chief Justice John Roberts ruled that the law question is not subject to heightened scrutiny "because it does not classify on any bases that warrant heightened review."

"This case carries with it the weight of fierce scientific and policy debates about the safety, efficacy, and propriety of medical treatments in an evolving field," he said. "The voices in these debates raise sincere concerns; the implications for all are profound."

United States v. Skrmetti was one of the most closely watched cases of the Supreme Court's term, with potential ripple effects for ongoing legal battles over transgender rights -- including bathroom access and participation in school sports.

The ruling could also serve as a legal pretext in future cases involving LGBTQ+ protections, including whether sexual orientation qualifies as a "protected class" on par with race or national origin.

"The Equal Protection Clause does not resolve these disagreements. Nor does it afford us license to decide them as we see best," he added. "Our role is not 'to judge the wisdom, fairness, or logic' of the law before us ... but only to ensure that it does not violate the equal protection guarantee of the Fourteenth Amendment. Having concluded it does not, we leave questions regarding its policy to the people, their elected representatives, and the democratic process."

All three liberal justices notably dissented in the case.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor issued a scathing dissent that cited a long history of laws discriminating against others, noting that transgender persons in the U.S. make up less than 1% of the country's population. There are an estimated 1.3 million adults and 300,000 adolescents aged 13 to 17 who identify as transgender, according to the UCLA law school's Williams Institute.

She noted that SB1 "expressly classifies on the basis of sex and transgender status, so the Constitution and settled precedent require the Court to subject it to intermediate scrutiny."

"The majority contorts logic and precedent to say otherwise, inexplicably declaring it must uphold Tennessee's categorical ban on lifesaving medical treatment so long as 'any reasonably conceivable state of facts' might justify it," Sotomayor said, adding: "By retreating from meaningful judicial review exactly where it matters most, the Court abandons transgender children and their families to political whims."

"In sadness, I dissent," she said.

"Lifesaving medical treatment." Get f***ed you vile ugly swine.

...

Justice Samuel Alito cited "hotly disputed" medical studies on the alleged benefits of such medical treatments, and told the government's attorney that those studies "found a complete lack of high-quality evidence showing that the benefits of the treatments in question here outweigh the risks."

"Do you dispute that?" Alito asked during oral arguments.

In his concurrence, Justice Thomas had this to say about fake phony Expertism:

This case carries a simple lesson: In politically contentious debates over matters shrouded in scientific uncertainty, courts should not assume that self-described experts are correct.

Deference to legislatures, not experts, is particularly critical here. Many prominent medical professionals have declared a consensus around the efficacy of treating children's gender dysphoria with puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgical interventions, despite mounting evidence to the contrary. They have dismissed grave problems undercutting the assumption that young children can consent to irreversible treatments that may deprive them of their ability to eventually produce children of their own.

They have built their medical determinations on concededly weak evidence. And, they have surreptitiously compromised their medical recommendations to achieve political
ends.

The Court today reserves "to the people, their elected representatives, and the democratic process" the power to decide how best to address an area of medical uncertainty and extraordinary importance. Ante, at 24. That sovereign pre-
rogative does not bow to "major medical organizations." Post, at 5, n. 5 (opinion of SOTOMAYOR, J.). "[E]xperts and elites have been wrong before--and they may prove to be wrong again." Students for Fair Admissions, Inc.

That last part is Thomas citing himself, from a previous concurrence.

The full decision is here.

Meanwhile, another lowly district court judge, this one, get this, a Biden judge from Massachusetts, issues another insupportable nationwide ban.

A federal judge in Massachusetts on Tuesday broadened the scope of an earlier ruling that blocks the Trump administration from enforcing a controversial passport policy requiring Americans to list their sex "at conception," rather than their gender identity. The order now applies nationwide, protecting all transgender, nonbinary, and intersex Americans.

U.S. District Judge Julia E. Kobick, a Biden appointee, wrote that the plaintiffs in the case--originally just six named individuals--share the same injury as the broader class: an inability to obtain passports that accurately reflect their gender identity. Kobick concluded that the administration's policy is likely unconstitutional and not tied to any "important governmental interest."

The initial lawsuit was filed in February by the ACLU, its Massachusetts affiliate, and the law firm Covington & Burling LLP. It alleges the policy is driven by "impermissible animus" toward gender-nonconforming individuals. Following that, attorneys asked the court to expand the ruling to cover all individuals impacted by the rule, a request Kobick granted Tuesday.

The ruling halts enforcement of a key portion of President Trump's executive order, signed in his first hours back in office, which directed federal agencies to base official documents--including passports and Global Entry cards--on an individual's sex assigned at birth, not their gender identity. The policy also suspended the State Department's prior option that allowed applicants to self-select their gender marker, including the nonbinary "X" option.
