The Morning Report — 10/16 /26

TalaPoison.jpg

Good morning kids. In the lead there was yet another school shooting this time up in the town of Bend, Oregon. First and foremost prayers offered for the victims and their loved ones. For that of course we are to be mocked and scorned by our fellow citizens in name only, of the Left. I don't know about Oregon in general but Bend from what I know is a very Leftist community, and given the undue influence of Portland on the entire state I'll just assume the restrictions on the second amendment are widespread and in full force. I'm sure the usual geschrei from the Communists in both the propagandist media and politics will be at maximum volume and intensity, as is the case in the wake of incidents like this and with the crucial midterms just over two weeks away, the insanity of early voting already underway.

With that said, there are a few things worthy of note for this edition of the report, so let's kick things off with this nightmarish if not completely unsurprising story. That it is unsurprising is equally nightmarish, and yet.

A University of Wyoming student was arrested after police say she tried to poison a colleague, then attempted to flee to China when officers questioned her. Aili Wang, 32, was questioned by campus police after surveillance cameras set up by a coworker experiencing medical symptoms allegedly caught her rinsing his mug with liquid from her own cup on Oct. 1, according to a University of Wyoming police affidavit, which added that she was seen on camera “taking photos and manipulating notebooks.” Wang didn’t get along with the coworker, who wasn’t named in court documents. Surveillance footage allegedly showed Wang searching through the victim’s desk; the victim specialized in disease treatment technology, work similar to what she had done in China. . . Now you may think this is just some sort of bizarre thing that one crazy person did. But there’s been a pattern of such incidents all involving foreign researchers and students involved in the sciences on college campuses. . .

. . . There’s some obvious patterns here. . .Professional rivalry likely plays a role. China is very academically competitive and while the vast majority of students aren’t poisoning people, clearly some are, while others understand that such behaviors exist. Call it ‘cultural differences’. Or something else to be aware of.

I for one it's not personal, but it's high-level Chi-Com intrigue and sabotage. Considering what American Universities have been doing to the minds of young people for decades, this is almost a nothing-burger in comparison. And, thank you Harry Truman for not letting MacArthur storm across the Yalu River, nor nuking Beijing while we had the chance.

And then we have these — poison pen letters.

“The FBI and U.S. Postal Inspection Service are investigating a series of suspicious mailings sent to various addresses nationwide, including Secretary of State offices and their related election offices,” an FBI spokesperson told Fox News. “Some of the letters contained an unknown substance and we are working closely with our law enforcement partners to respond to each incident.” The notice included an image of one of the envelopes. The return addresses indicate the letters came from the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) with the address the organization lists on its membership forms: 75 Maiden Lane in New York City.

By any means necessary, we must have paradise on earth!

If you went to public school any time after 2000, you may not have even taken a history class. If you did, it’s highly unlikely that the lefties who taught you covered how many Soviet citizens died under Josef Stalin. Under Stalin, roughly 1.7 million Soviet citizens died in gulags from 1930 to 1953. That doesn’t include the roughly 5 million to 7 million who died from famine as a result of socialist policies. Yale historian Timothy Snyder has estimated that Stalin’s regime deliberately murdered about 6 million Soviet citizens. . .

. . . As leftists often tell us any time we point out the failures of socialism, “That’s because it’s never been tried the right way before.”

Let’s see whether the leader of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) got it right. Mao Zedong’s kill numbers are from the low “tens of millions” to upward of 80 million.  All were his own people. No one can get a very accurate count for how many he killed, because the best possible sources were killed.

As with Russia, Mao’s weapon of choice was famine – letting people starve to death.Historians say that under Mao, his people suffered from the deadliest famine in recorded history. They blame “collectivization,” falsified food production data and reports, suppression (censorship) of accurate information, and general mismanagement. . . What none of them see coming is that when socialism fails, and it always does, the leaders already know whom to blame: conservatives and Republicans, all because they resisted the socialist wave and made it difficult to actually execute socialism the right way.

The embrace of Bernie Sanders, Mamdani, El-Sayed and all the rest by far too many of our young people and considering the saga of American academia for over 60 years many many more who should be old enough to know better but of course don't.

It's been said probably in every election since '64 if not before, but this one and '28 could be lights out forever if either or both go south. At least the Democrats of yore were better at hiding who and what they were/are way back when, or that's how I seem to remember things. Nowadays the freak flags are flying in the breeze.

And right out front and high is the flag of ISLAM!

On these and all the rest I bid you all to have a great weekend.

12 What none of them see coming is that when socialism fails, and it always does, the leaders already know whom to blame: conservatives and Republicans, all because they resisted the socialist wave and made it difficult to actually execute socialism the right way.

And then when you point out the countries that tried this murderous religion and had no conservatives anywhere around, they still get the blame because they were outside agitators.

23 Yale historian Timothy Snyder has estimated that Stalin’s regime deliberately murdered about 6 million Soviet citizens. . .

Back in the good old days when government schools started transitioning from History to Civics (to eventually Activism) that benchmark was 20 million.

For decades, Mao's Great Leap Forward was also around 200 million.

Apparently tens of millions of people got better as Communism became to be viewed more favorably in the West.

29 Yes, fall is fully arrived here.

Sad news on the job front - the position that fit so well and I felt like a sure fit, is 'closed due to a change in business needs'.

Still got one that I've interviewed for in the 'not declined yet' pool, the part time position the client is still getting their ducks in a row, and some other possibilities that recruiters have reached out about that would be good fits...

Best I can figure, God wants me to stay put physically speaking? I dunno.

Trying to pray for guidance even more. Repeating the prayer, "If it's the right one, let them send a firm offer. If it's not, let them not send a firm offer."

Six months ago, my attitude was I didn’t really care about the midterms that much. I was going to vote of course but didn’t much care how they went one way or the other because the GOP is dog shit. But mea culpa I’ve changed my mind… the Dems are so foul and so crazy, I’d rather have the dogshit GOP than the crazy commies. And I don’t know but maybe the polling op is working on me but it looks like a freaking disaster is looming to me. Talafreako winning is a nightmare scenario and it seems possible. 64 Good morning. 10 years ago I moved to Bend OR for a job. At that time it was split 50/50 politically, and Trump had just won the general election. Bend went full commie by 2018. Actually more of a 60/40 split, which is customary for the west coast states. Bend is the only blue city east of the Cascades, and for this rural area, it"s a big city. In 2019 I bought a house in another small city in central OR, where I could afford it. Still here. All the surrounding small towns and cities make up the rest of Central OR, and are very conservative. Now retired, but work 1/2 time at an ajoining school district from the shooting yesterday. The politicising will start soon, but right now our local communities are in shock and are grieving. I work in an elementary school, and I can"t process anyone takung the lives of these little ones. One of the downsides of my job history is that I haven't had professional exposure to all the hip new stuff like kubernetes that so many want these days (I understand the theory. I don't have paid experience doing it for X years). On the other hand, there are still plenty of, that is to say, some jobs out there for my skillset and experience level - the problem is getting through the hoops and not running into nonsense like today's bad news. Once I'm fully employed in my field again, I'll try to look for ways to skill up on the 'I missed out on that' stuff.

82 It's really heartbreaking to hear about another shooting that has killed three little kids and a teacher. And others who are in serious condition. They haven't given much information about it but what I've read is bad enough. Too many crazy people running around in this world anymore. If the man who took out the shooter had not been there to help it would have been worse. Thank goodness for him.

I'm not sure how things work nowadays, having been retired for over 5 years. Back in the day it "looked better" if you were working at any job, even a part time, menial one, while searching for your desired one.
Showed a willingness or desire to just be working I guess.

95 The right is trying very hard to project its objectives onto Marine LePen. She seems to me to be more concerned with winning elections than hewing to a rightist agenda. When Macron raised France's retirement age, she promised to lower it. When it comes to immigration/invasion and the west's descent into dhimmitude, she likes to talk, but as in Spain and Portugal, actually doing something seems like a different story.

Still better than Macron, though.

========

Turnout is low, below 2022, so far. Democrats rush out on the first day of early voting and get a big lead which degrades over time because they run through their dedicated partisans quickly while Republicans are steadier in their early voting habits.

Saw this in OH. Seeing it in GA. Even in VA (VA is going to be a center of whatever blue wave there is because Trump has destroyed the NOVA economy, but even there, the advantage is reducing over time).

First day of early voting in NC was yesterday, and Dems came out to a strong start. Will it follow the pattern we're seeing in the rest of the states where they crash in turnout soon after? Probably.

But, remember, the idea of the polls being wrong is just insane. They're always right. Even when they all say Susan Collins is going to lose in 2020, there's no way that she wins.

The most objectionalble little discussed fact about the noodle-headed Macaroni is “industrial amounts” of Dior Eau Sauvage such that his aides in the Elysee Palace can sense him approaching before he even enters the room.

Scent travels at the speed of sound.

“It’s not subtle, but it’s fast. It means: ‘watch out, here I come!’,” a former aide says. “You only have to be in the Vestibule d’Honneur [ the Grand Entrance Hall in the Elysee Palace] to know whether he has been there recently or not.”

Not flammable, but combustable at high temperatures...

112 I heard the Stones hit "Gimme Shelter" the other day. It hit me when the "rape, murder" screeching by Merry Clayton was that she was forecasting what goes on in England today.

Weird. Maybe Mick needs to update the song with some muslim doing the screeching part. I recall he said the lyrics were all about the wars going on at the time, especially Vietnam, and how you could be killed in an instant.

Funny how no one writes songs about all the leftist violence everyone has to live with every day in 2026.
