Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | MSNOW Of All Outlets Challenges Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed's Lie About Having No Familial Connections to the Muslim BrotherhoodOver the weekend, extreme partisan Kristin Welker asked Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed if he or his family had any connections to the Egyptian terrorist group which begat Al Qaeda and Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood. He said "No," flatly, and Welker did not ask any follow-up questions nor confront him with tweets from his half-sister bragging about his mother's "activism" in the Muslim Brotherhood while in college. As usual, when a Democrat media operative "asks questions" of a Democrat about a scandal, they do not challenge the Democrat -- instead, they helpfully offer the Democrat an opportunity to deny the allegation without any pushback or interrogation. However, a male reporter at MSNOW confronted Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed in an on-the-street interview, and did ask him about his half-sister's praise of his mother for being a member of the terrorist group. El-Sayed sputtered out various defenses, including the bizarre assertion that it's just not a "serious" matter whether or not he comes from a family of terrorists, and also objected to the very idea that he should be questioned about his terrorist ties. In the end, he seemed to suggest that it's just not important whether or not he belongs to a family of terrorists and we should just all MoveOn.org. The new story he seems to have settled on is that he has never spoken with his mother about being a Muslim terrorist so it's not fair to charge him with knowledge of it or call him a liar for denying it. Note that when he denied his mother's membership in the Muslim Brotherhood, he did not say "I never spoke to her about it." He just insisted she was not a member of the terrorist group. Oh, and he claims his sister' reportage of his mother's membership in the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood is just "hearsay" that no one should bother themselves about. Just some "hearsay" from people in the family who are the greatest authorities on the histories of members of the family.Chuck Ross for Free Beacon: Let's not bicker and argue about 'oo's a terrorist or not. What a frivolous line of questioning! Ask about serious matters like what Trump's plan for reducing the price of arugla is. "I get it, but you were asked a question," Llamas responded. "Yeah, I'm telling you, like, we--I have no ties. We have no ties," El-Sayed said. "So your mother had no ties?" asked Llamas. "I have never had these conversations with my mother," said El-Sayed. "Like, you're using hearsay evidence from a tweet. This is not serious." When Llamas noted that El-Sayed has "gone after the president for truthfulness," El-Sayed responded, "Are you insinuating that somehow I was lying?" "I don't know. That's why I'm asking," Llamas responded. No ties to the Muslim Brotherhood here, no siree! Video of the interview below.

He will win it by many dozens of points like any other Democrat. What will happen instead is that a percentage of black Democrats will simply choose not to vote. Their turnout rate will decline. They will become a smaller slice of the electorate, and suddenly 2% of the electorate that Democrats rely on to win in a closely fought race just won't be there anymore as black percentage of the electorate goes from 15% to 13% or so. Abdul El-Sayed’s Father-in-Law, a Top Donor to an El-Sayed Super PAC, Is Among Top Leaders of Muslim Brotherhood Organization Linked to Terror Funding
https://tinyurl.com/5bjx3erc Abdul El-Sayed's father-in-law, a top donor to a super PAC supporting the left-wing Michigan Senate hopeful, is among the top leaders of an Islamic organization identified by the federal government as a public facing group for the Muslim Brotherhood, a Washington Free Beacon review found. As part of his role with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which the federal government linked to the financing of Hamas, Tayeb Jukaku contributes at least $5,000 to the organization annually. Jukaku has served on the 20-member founding committee of ISNA since at least 2007, according to the organization's magazine, Islamic Horizons, and has been a member of the group for a "long time, cannot recall [when I joined]," ... Federal prosecutors identified the organization as an unindicted co-conspirator in the landmark 2007 terrorist financing case USA v. Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, which culminated in the conviction of the foundation's founders for funneling $12 million to Hamas. .. 20 Democrats are REALLY underperforming in Michigan in early voting for some reason.
=== they are waiting Posted by: runner ------- Unlikely. Democrats since 2016-2018 redesigned their turnout model to ballot harvesting mail in ballots. Lot cheaper and easier to send one person out to grab a bunch of ballots to be filled out by their boiler rooms than to actually go and transport their gimmedat clients to the polls. They were also doing things like registering non existent people to factories, shopping centers, vacant lots, etc. and retrieving those ballots to be filled out. That was an urban cheat machine and in some other democrat voting areas like university towns. Getting people to the polls to EV or vote on Election Day is a lot harder than getting some low iq gimmedat to give the pretty young ballot harvester their ballot in exchange for a gift card or some other goodie. The gimmedats don't have to even worry about filling it out. Same goes for the nonexistent ballots without voters attached. Posted by: whig at October 16, 2026 02:34 PM (E4rtv) 69

Man...the left missed when they intentionally lost 2024, which they could have stolen but chose not to, handing over the imperial presidency and DOJ to Donald Trump, a man they'd tried to jail and murder, so that they could bank on some impeachment theater 2 years later, huh?
Posted by: TheJamesMadison, precisely framed and deadpan with Wes Anderson at October 16, 2026 01:06 PM (MdQMu) == The GOP actually did much better work - too many eyes on the prize, and of course with the attempt to bankrupt and imprison Trump being the main effort, I'm not sure they had the setup again to pull it off. It all comes down to GOP turnout. If they are tracking ahead of their normal midterm turnout the GOP is going to win, because the dems are not turning out. Specific House races are too small to say. Posted by: LASue Cheat by mail state, vote early so you can make sure your vote is counted. And if you are going to vote anyway, it allows the party if they are tracking it, to concentrate on other people harder to get to the polls. The parties and the state government (and possibly depending on the state, other ngos) have your voting history before them and can predict based on past behavior whether you will vote or not. Harder to guess who you voted for in some places without party reg. but not impossible. And the campaigns, parties, and ngos, concentrate on turning out those reliable voters and those that are occasional voters in a tight race. Posted by: whig at October 16, 2026 02:42 PM (E4rtv) 99

Michigan is always a coin flip. They still have that law on the books that allows people who have never even step foot in Michigan to register to vote there. For example, if the parents reside in Michigan, and have a baby who lives with another relative in Iraq for all his or her life, and comes of age, that 18 year old Iraqi can vote in the Michigan election.

A lot of revisionism on polls from 2024.
In the summer Kamala was ahead, true. However that lead evaporated into September and October. By mid October it was a dead heat with several polls showing Trump winning swing states. It’s all available online to go back check. Betting markets had Trump as the clear favorite for the last 2 weeks of the campaign. Polymarket had him steady around 60% and as high as 65% a few days before Election Day. Posted by: Reality at October 16, 2026 02:46 PM (q/mq0) 109

The fact that the GOP has to defend three times as many tossups in the House means for the dems to not win the House would be a mild upset.
Posted by: Black JEM I checked the Cook list the other day. It is simply not that reliable anymore and I say that as someone that used to use it and the Almanac of American politics twenty year or so ago as data for election models. This year, control of the House is going to come down to mebbe about 20 races or so. Of that, you will be able to tell one way or another in prior to the election for about half of those based on turnout modeling. And the joker in the deck is that GOP candidates for governor in places like NY and CA are doing well which raises chances for GOP House candidates in those states and contra poorly performing Democrats governor candidates can sink Dems in places like AZ or perhaps IA where close races are ensured by non partisan redistricting commissions writing district lines. So I would ignore most media House prognostications and just quit worrying about it. Razor thin Dem or GOP victory is possible but money and better candidates than most of the Dems this cycle give GOP a chance. Call it 50/50. Posted by: whig at October 16, 2026 02:53 PM (E4rtv) 122

The same sample sizes are needed as in a national race but getting the proper electorate for a state or congressional district is damn near impossible now with polling getting 1 out of 100 response rate. Posted by: Vengeance Time enough to do that after the election. Just go and vote and ignore the bullshit that media, polling, and even politicians spew. Posted by: whig at October 16, 2026 02:57 PM (E4rtv) --- The complicating factor this year is that the Dem candidates are unusually batty, so historic trends don't really apply. They found some of the least attractive people possible to put at the top of the ticket, and that's going to have down-ballot effects. Connecticut’s Richard Blumenthal and Massachusetts’s Ed Markey are 80, Vermont’s Peter Welch is 79 (in his state, he’s the young one!), and Hawaii’s Mazie Hirono will turn 79 on Election Day. Rounding out the top ten oldest Democratic senators is Massachusetts’s Elizabeth Warren (77), Oregon’s Ron Wyden (77), Rhode Island’s Jack Reed (77 next month), and New York’s Chuck Schumer (76 next month).

Pollsters don't herd towards trying to be within the MOE in their final polls because their methodology has always been awesome and suddenly the electorate shifted.
They're doing it so that they can get an A rating from Nate Silver and hang that on their polls at any other time of the year where they can say whatever the fuck they want without needing to worry about being right. Re senatorial ages, one of the many hilarious schticks that Fritz Hollings had was to note, that as the "junior" senator from SC (think he was 84 at the time), blah blah blah.
And of course he pronounced the "junior" in his trademark Foghorn Leghorn voice, tone rising, with emphasis. Reminds me of some hilarious oratory of his at the time of Hurricane Hugo, which hit Charleston pretty hard IIRC. The way he pronounced "Hugo".
Posted by: Reality at October 16, 2026 02:46 PM (q/mq0) == Yes, they all moved right at the end. Which is how they are all starting to move now. They are going to lose MI. We are going to lose NC it would seem. We probably pick up one of NH, MN, GA though Ossoff is probably moving into it would be a huge upset territory. I cannot believe with what is going on in Fulton county it isn't closer. Some pollsters while noticing a bit of a Harris bump had it as a Trump +1 or 2 from the beginning. TJM's prediction of same Senate split with a reversal of the House narrow margin in favor of the dems seems the odds on favorite right now. Posted by: Black JEM at October 16, 2026 03:15 PM (7/DDO) 191

Where are we now? Oh what do you know, mid October. Posted by: Reality ======== I seriously doubt you can describe polling methodology and how it is done. So your opinion on the matter is scarcely useful in discourse. I've done it (not political but other survey research for Census and USDA), used it professionally in research, and had friends that were members of AAPOR that actually ran polls as operation managers and directors. Was there when our university opened its own polling shop where research staff could piggyback and have research questions added. And the issue was even these polling specialists knew that polling methodology as we knew it from twenty years ago was dying and soon to be dead. This was before 2010. A combination of lying, non response bias, and other factors make them about as useful as a naive assertion that GOP and Dems are 50/50 in a contested race. I was surprised at what he has been able to accomplish since the beginning of this term....but I think the motto for the remainder is "no f*cks to give" and that requires more of a bouncer type as press secretary. Someone who commands the room, and Katie Zacharia didn't have that IMO. It has to be someone who is 100% on board with the policy, and has the tools to explain that policy in no uncertain terms. And, it has to be someone who doesn't mind getting combative using facts and statistics. I think Colonel Allen West would be entertaining in that role.
