Cultural Enrichment: teen beaten by mob of migrants in Frankfurt. "Authorities" are, of course, warning the public that if they share the video of the Cultural Enrichment they might be imprisoned.

More Cultural Enrichment:

NYC First Lady Painted Portrait of Her 'Inspiration': A Jew-Hating Artist Who Said 'Anne Frank' Is a Hoax, Posted Hitler's Paintings, and Celebrated Oct 7

Rama Duwaji's obsession with the Palestinian cause is shown in her reverence for the violence-tinged painter Sliman Mansour

New York City first lady Rama Duwaji's self-declared artistic "inspiration," whose portrait she's painted in tribute, is a radical Hamas propagandist who praised the terror group's leaders as "great heroes," openly celebrated the Oct. 7 attack against Israel, and has claimed that The Diary of Anne Frank is a Jewish forgery.

Sliman Mansour, a Palestinian artist, was also pleased when a warlike reinterpretation of one of his paintings was used as a backdrop for an angry press conference by future Oct. 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar, where he thanked Iran for funding Hamas.

Mansour died in August after spending decades propping up violent "resistance" movements against the State of Israel. Before that, Duwaji had animated a portrait of the painter and indicated he "inspired the work that I do."

"Hi, I'm Rama, a Syrian illustrator and animator based in Brooklyn, and today I'm going to be animating a portrait of Sliman Mansour, who is a painter and sculptor that's inspired the work that I do. Sliman is an artist of the Intifada," said Houston-born Duwaji, the wife of Zohran Mamdani, in a video first posted online in April 2024.

The second intifada, in the early 2000s, involved thousands of terror attacks against Israelis, including deadly suicide bombings on buses. It left more than a thousand Israelis dead, mostly civilians.

Mansour's work "is about the Palestinian experience under occupation, and growing up seeing his paintings, I was always really inspired by the emotion behind his portraits," Duwaji continued.

The video shows her working in a Palestinian-themed studio under a large banner reading "Artists Against Apartheid: Palestine Will Be Free"--a reference widely considered an antisemitic trope. She wears a keffiyeh-patterned headband and even lights a candle using matches from a Brooklyn Palestinian restaurant.

"Sliman has been jailed twice since the start of his career," Duwaji says proudly. "And since then, he's inspired many artists after him, including myself."

Zohran Mamdani's father: "America is the root of all evil in the world, and it was the inspiration for the Nazis. Hitler learned genocide from Abraham Lincoln."

Elon Musk unveiled Tesla's long-awaited Roadster on Thursday, claiming the electric sports car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than a second, reach speeds of 230 mph and even fly. The vehicle reportedly uses thrusters to achieve its extreme acceleration, though details about its flight capabilities remain unclear. Tesla says production is expected to begin in 2028, with no price announced.

Tesla has unveiled its new and redesigned Roadster - a 'flying car' that can turn in the air and land.

Developed in collaboration with CEO Elon Musk's rocket company SpaceX, it's claimed the Roadster can accelerate from zero to 60mph in less than one second and can hit a top speed of over 230 mph.

Tesla demonstrated the two-seater vehicle at a livestreamed event in Texas, showing it driving upside down on a ramp and performing a mid-air flip.

Musk told the crowd, "It can basically fly like a rocket", but admitted it's "not necessarily a safety-optimised car."

It remains unclear how the proposed flying features would work on public roads, or whether they would be legal. Production is set to start in 2028.

I saw this last night and immediately thought, of course, "AI."

NOPE.

The 68-IQ Somali invader agrees that Elon Musk is very dumb and she is so much smarter than he is.

Elon Musk says this car really sucks. It has a suction-fan system to keep it stuck to the ground, which is important, because when a car moves at rocket-like speeds it tends to take off like a rocket.

But you can turn that off, of course.

Oh, and speaking of female minorities who got a huge does of Esteem Building in school and little else, Sonny Hostin "fact checks" Joe Rogan's statement that Biden threw open the borders.

Elon is going for a double catch on the next Starship test flight, Flight 15. The booster will come back and be caught by the tower, which they've done before.

And then, Starship itself will go into orbit for a few loops, then deorbit and come back down to the tower at Starbase and be caught by the tower.

Elon said the last two flights were so accurate, they're confident they can do it. With those splashdowns in the ocean you've seen, they were pretending there was a virtual tower there, and maneuvering the incoming vehicle to align perfectly with that imaginary tower on the ocean surface.

Remind me again, how did Hillary get her start in politics? Because of a MAN, her husband, and the sympathy people had for her after Monica Lewinsky.

How did she get her Sec. of State job? She was hired by a MAN, her Dem opponent, who negotiated her being part of her administration, one assumes to project party unity and to appease those who voted for her in the primary.

What has Hillary accomplished on her own?
Heck, what has she accomplished, period? I mean legitimately good and legal accomplishments, not "she monetized the heck out of her position at State" or "she and bill accumulated hundreds of millions and DC power via their NGO." Book sales don't count, either, since we no how that scam works.

The Belgians built the main road in the area in 1954, and zero maintenance on the road has been done since the Belgians left.

To give you an idea of how mind-blowingly precise these tower catch maneuvers are, they use what SpaceX calls a "hoverslam". They changed that term from the previous "suicide burn" term (because that's what it is).

Imagine Neil Armstrong, under manual control there at the last, landing the LM on the Moon, using thrusts. He had to slow down just over the surface, and then basically hover for a relatively long time, gradually easing it down, within the limits of human reaction time and all that.

That takes a relatively large amount of fuel. You're basically hovering, just wasting fuel fighting gravity while you gingerly lower it.

Those boosters can't do that. It would take too much fuel. So....

The booster (and Ship) have to retain enough fuel to do the landing burns. Which is fuel that can't be used to push the think into orbit. So, you want to minimize the weight of the fuel you have to keep onboard for the landing burn.

The faster you accelerate, the more efficient it is terms of fighting gravity, and the less fuel required. So...the vehicle some flying it, aiming for the landing zone. At supersonic speeds initially. Now, just at the last moment, you fire the engines just right, thrust vector and attitude have to be dead on the money.

And you go full thrust, decelerating as hard as you can. And you time so just as the landing legs of the vehicle touch the ground (or the catch pegs are in their sockets on the tower) your velocity is zero, and there you are, dead stopped on the ground. An you're out of fuel right at that moment.

The precision required to do that is just mind boggling.

165 >> There's this thing called 'air.' So, no.

Yes, it's a balance between drag and gravity losses. On launch, it works out that the gravity losses are the vast majority of the wasted fuel compared to drag.

On launch, you go up a little steeper than the ideal gravity-only launch trajectory. This gets you out of the denser air must quicker, where you can then lean over and start pouring on the horizontal speed.

Coming back in, re-entry, you use that drag to bleed off most of that horizontal speed. On the last leg, before the landing burn, you're going slow enough that's it's all about killing that last bit of velocity with thrust as efficiently as possible.

So they run an incredibly precise landing sequence that calculates that the excess thrust will have the rocket moving at 0 vertical velocity at the exact moment the legs touch the pad. Any longer, and the rocket starts lifting back up. Any less time, and the rocket smashes the landing legs. It's a pretty astonishing feat.

Starship and Superheavy *can* be throttled down far enough to hover. But as you point out, that wastes fuel, so eventually they'll want to get pretty close to a hoverslam type maneuver to maximize payload (maybe).

Hitchcock actually built up Crane as a character in Psycho so that her death would be shocking.

But, the appeal for horror movies like Friday the 13th is never about actually scaring. There's no atmosphere. There's no tension. It's just blunt force violence done with comic timing.

People watch Friday the 13th to laugh, not to scream in fear.

She's a well-constructed character, but I wouldn't say people cared about her. She was a thief and generally cold and unlikable.

Yeah, horror movies have a very short shelf life. Psycho did well because it was extremely well crafted. But the horror it evinced in audiences died quickly.

Flew off the rails with the second where it became a Friday the 13th clone, though. And they constantly shifted the lore from movie to movie.

The David Gordon Greene trilogy made recently is the best the series got outside the first film.

When I saw it - I didn't know the story. I just knew it was a scary Hitchcock movie.

Watched it on TV by myself in the middle of the day. Got to me pretty well. Of course I don't make a habit of going to slasher movies so I'm not numb to it.

Tony Perkins creeped me the hell out. More than the killer dude in Silence of the lambs - although that was freaky too.
