"Amos (with an assist here internally from your team) was critical to the endgame," Prescott added, likely referring to Amos Hochstein, one of Biden's trusted advisers at the State Department on energy who later interacted with Hunter Biden on several occasions related to Burisma and Ukraine, Just the News previously reported. Just six days before this communication, German Chancellor Merkel had called Putin directly, urging him to reach a settlement with Kyiv to resume gas flows before winter, German news site DW reported. The email sent to Joe Biden's private, fake-name address was handed over to Congress and obtained by Just the News, which was previously given a redacted version by the National Archives.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) charged a self-professed "queer scientist" linked to the firebombing of a Tesla dealership and the Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) headquarters in Albuquerque. The suspect, Albuquerque resident Jamison Wagner, 40, was charged with two federal counts of malicious damage or destruction of property by fire or explosives in connection to arson attacks at the Tesla Albuquerque Showroom on Feb. 9 and the RPNM headquarters on March 30, according to a Monday DOJ press release. This comes after numerous arrests have been made in connection to attacks on Tesla facilities, with many of the alleged vandals also appearing to be queer-identifying. Wagner is accused of spray-painting graffiti on six vehicles in red and black paint with the phrases, "Die Elon," "Tesla Nazi Inc" and "Die Tesla Nazi," along with swastika symbols. He allegedly also painted "ICE=KKK" on the RPMM building the following month, prosecutors allege. "Let this be the final lesson to those taking part in this ongoing wave of political violence," said Attorney General Pam Bondi in the DOJ statement. "We will arrest you, we will prosecute you, and we will not negotiate. Crimes have consequences." ... Wagner appears to be a member of a group called "500 Queer Scientists," which brands itself as a "visibility campaign for LGBTQ+" scientists, the Washington Free Beacon first reported. "I am queer and I am an electrical engineer," Wagner's biography on the site reads. Investigators linked Wagner to both incidents through crime scene evidence and surveillance footage. He will remain in custody until a detention hearing is set, the DOJ said. Wagner faces between five and 20 years in prison for each count if convicted of the current charges, prosecutors say. ... "Hurling firebombs is not political protest," said Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in the press release. "It is a dangerous felony that we will prosecute to the maximum extent. The impressive work by law enforcement in New Mexico sends a clear message to perpetrators of all of the shameful attacks on Tesla facilities and political establishments: we are coming for you, you can't hide, and you will do serious jail time to pay for your crimes." The Department of Justice announced federal charges in March against three people who set fire to Tesla dealerships in Oregon, Colorado and South Carolina, and additional arrests have been made more recently. Bondi branded the "swarm of violent attacks" as "nothing short of domestic terrorism" in a statement on March 18.

Nelson lived at home due to "emotional problems," Nelson's father told the Post. "He changed his name to Lucy a few years ago." He has several social media posts where he refers to himself as "baby," and another post shows a Nazi flag on fire, which was filed by police with an affidavit. ... Erin L. White, 27, was apprehended and charged with felony criminal damage to property and trespass, according to Fox. White allegedly vandalized a Tesla center in Illinois, leaving messages criticizing President Donald Trump and Elon Musk and advocating for "trans rights." White has used she/they pronouns, according to her LinkedIn profile and other reports. ... Adam Matthew Lansky, 41, was formally accused of possessing Molotov cocktails while attempting to destroy Tesla property at a Salem, Ore. car dealership, according to a DOJ press release. Social media records show Lansky allegedly went by the alias Allison Tesla on X, with the content featuring trans pornography. Surveillance footage obtained from the dealership appeared to show him throwing the incendiary devices at the building and several vehicles, causing fires to erupt, according to the press release. The release also pointed to another surveillance video from a police car that showed Lansky allegedly discharging "multiple firearm rounds into a building and at least one vehicle."

A Massachusetts federal judge stopped the Trump administration late Monday from yanking legal status from more than 530,000 Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, and Venezuelan nationals who were brought into the US under a controversial Biden administration program. Boston US District Judge Indira Talwani, an Obama appointee, ruled that the migrants are entitled to a case-by-case review and declined to put her decision on hold while the Trump administration appeals it. "The early termination, without any case-by-case justification, of legal status for noncitizens who have complied with DHS programs and entered the country lawfully undermines the rule of law," Talwani wrote in a 41-page ruling. "The court finds the balance of equities and public interest weigh in favor of preliminary relief." At issue was the Biden administration's Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela (CHNV) mass humanitarian parole program, which gave nationals from those Latin American countries a path to legal status in the US. The Department of Homeland Security announced the program in early 2023. Since then, an estimated 110,240 Cubans, 211,040 Haitians, 93,080 Nicaraguans and 117,320 Venezuelans were granted parole -- or temporary permission -- to stay in the US under the CHNV program. ... The Biden administration had argued the program would reduce the inflow of migrants across the southern border and allow for better vetting.

"If Kilmar is not home by midweek -- I plan to travel to El Salvador this week to check on his condition and discuss his release," Van Hollen wrote in a letter address to El Salvador's ambassador to Washington. El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele said during a Monday Oval Office meeting that he did not intend to return Kilmar to the U.S.Oooh, what a tough guy. Chris Hollen is going to show off his muscles and scare them all into compliance. It's about the abuse of our immigration system by illegal migrants, the lawyers who help them lie, and the nonprofits who agitate to keep them in the country. Abrego Garcia crossed into our country illegally in 2012 - by his own admission. He did not apply for asylum. He didn't show up at an embassy or at a port of entry to go through any kind of legal process. He just crossed. Finally, the authorities found him in 2019, after he'd been living in the country illegally for seven years. He was set to be deported. He asked for bond - it was denied, because there was evidence that he was a member of MS-13, and he could not prove that he was not a danger to the community. And yet somehow, this longtime illegal alien, who was denied bond, managed to avoid being deported. How? By concocting what, by any objective measure, looks like a preposterous set of lies. Abrego Garcia claimed that if he were deported, his life would be in danger. You see, he claims that he fled El Salvador in 2011 because his mother's pupusa business was being extorted by the Eighteenth Street Gang. And yes, that pupusa business closed, but no matter - the Eighteenth Street Gang was still threatening to kill him in 2019, he claimed. Sure, he had no corroborating evidence whatsoever to back up his fantastical and highly convenient claims. No matter - an immigration judge said ok, granted him withholding of removal, and sent this removable illegal alien - who another immigration judge had found was likely in MS-13 - back into our community. What on earth happened here? The indictment of our immigration system is not that now, 13 years after his initial illegal crossing, Abrego Garcia has finally been returned to his home country. The scandal is that he was able to stay here so long illegally - and that EVEN AFTER HE WAS DETAINED BY ICE, he managed to stay in the country for six further years. Somehow, on the verge of being sent home, he managed to figure out exactly what to say to stay in the country. This was always a sham. And if the Democrats want to make him a martyr, Republicans should lean in. Because he's not an example of how our country wrongs illegal aliens; he's an example of how illegal aliens and their lawyers make a mockery of our country.

Harvard Refuses All of Trump's Demanded Reforms; Trump Freezes $2 Billion in Funding for the Antisemitic University and Seeks to Undo Its Status as a Tax-Exempt Charity

Harvard University on Monday announced that it will not comply with demands from the Trump administration, even as the administration threatens to withhold federal funding. ... Harvard President Alan Garber told the university in an email that it has received an updated list of demands from the current administration, which includes reforming its acceptance of international students who are "hostile to the American values and institutions." "It makes clear that the intention is not to work with us to address antisemitism in a cooperative and constructive manner," Garber said. "Although some of the demands outlined by the government are aimed at combating antisemitism, the majority represent direct governmental regulation of the 'intellectual conditions' at Harvard." Another demand was allowing the government to audit programs offered at the school "that most fuel antisemitic harassment or reflect ideological capture." Garber claimed that the demands were "unprecedented" and were a federal overreach because the government was trying to control the school. He added that the university has formally rejected the demands through legal counsel.

This valuable tax break, though, can be removed if the groups become involved in political activities or move away from their stated purposes. "Perhaps Harvard should lose its Tax Exempt Status and be Taxed as a Political Entity if it keeps pushing political, ideological, and terrorist inspired/supporting "Sickness?" he wrote on Truth Social. "Remember, Tax Exempt Status is totally contingent on acting in the PUBLIC INTEREST!" Losing the exemption could cost Harvard millions of dollars each year. The sweeping changes demanded by the White House would have transformed Harvard's operations and ceded a large amount of control to the government. Its letter to Harvard on Friday, obtained by the New York Times, said the university had failed to live up to the "intellectual and civil rights conditions" that justify federal investment. The letter included 10 categories for proposed changes, including: reporting students to the federal government who are "hostile" to American values ensuring each academic department is "viewpoint diverse" hiring an external government-approved party to audit programs and departments "that most fuel antisemitic harassment" checking faculty staff for plagiarism ... Shortly after his letter of resistance was sent, the education department said it was freezing $2.2bn in grants and $60m in contracts to Harvard immediately. "Harvard's statement today reinforces the troubling entitlement mindset that is endemic in our nation's most prestigious universities and colleges," the Department of Education said in a statement.

CNBC panelists descended into a shouting match Tuesday as host Joe Kernen called out the left's double standard when it comes to defending free speech. President Donald Trump's Department of Education (ED) is set to freeze $2.2 billion in multi-year grants to Harvard University after the Ivy League university refused to agree to its new terms and conditions, which included auditing antisemitism, improving screening of international students for "hostile" views and enforcing disciplinary processes. CNBC host Andrew Ross Sorkin tussled with his fellow "Squawk Box" co-host, Kernen, as he argued that the freeze in funding is a violation of free speech. "I'm a Jew, I hate the antisemitism piece of this more than anything, more than anybody," Sorkin began. "Do I think that people can scream from the rooftops if they want? I hate to say that, but I think that they can and in the same way that we think it was not right for the [former President Joe] Biden administration to go after tech companies, around whether you think it was laptops or COVID, or this or that ... What I'm saying is, to the extent that, if we're trying to have a consistent view about free speech." "But it wasn't consistent then," Kernen said. "Again, we're calling what-about-ism instead of calling it for what it is, which is hypocrisy. It's hypocrisy. Why didn't the left care that we couldn't read about the lab origin of Wuhan or the [Hunter] Biden laptop? Not a peep." Sorkin, who said he agreed with Kernen's point, argued that the same standard should be applied to speech for all presidential administrations. Kernen told Sorkin that the left, along with these universities, only defend free speech when it suits them. "We can't go back in time and decide to it now!" Kernen said. "You let it go back then. That was quick! But President Trump needs to act decisively, or he will be seen as a big talker but a small doer. He promised to end the Ukraine War in one day. Nope. He told Hamas that if they didn't release the hostages that he would open the gates of hell. Nope. If these threats against Iran are merely talk, then he will have proven to the world that he is a blustering buffoon when it comes to Iran, just like the other presidents who were taken in by their mendacity. There will come a time when Iran simply stops enriching Uranium, because they will have enough for the number of bombs they wish to use on Israel and, perhaps, on America. They might even announce to the world that they have stopped enrichment...in the interests of world peace of course! Then they will focus on the engineering obstacles, which are manageable. How long before they have a few functioning nuclear devices? How much help are they getting from North Korea and Russia? Will it take a few months or a year or two? It doesn't matter, because it isn't worth the risk. Iran must be stopped now,and no degree of compromise is acceptable. This is a binary question: Will we allow an Iranian nuclear device or will we stop it? I've been thinking on the below post, about the NGO problem. The Left is structured as a network of NGOs: ruthlessly efficient and ready to act the moment power changes hands. The Right has no equivalent infrastructure. If I sit down and ask myself, "How would I start an NGO to implement a conservative agenda in D.C.?" ... I draw a blank. Because the dominant instinct on the Right isn't to build, it's to dismantle. Most conservative goals center on shrinking or limiting the federal government. That creates a fundamental asymmetry. NGOs on the Left are designed to expand state power through policy scaffolding, and once federal funding flows in, it's nearly impossible to tear down. It would take an act of Congress to defund these mechanisms, and Congress rarely votes to shrink its own power. So, we can't fight fire with fire. As I see it, there are only three paths forward (not mutually exclusive): 1. Keep scaling the existing DOGE efforts.
2. Replace the majority of Congress with people willing to shut the spigot.
3. Trigger a Convention of States and rewrite the rules from outside the system. Each path demands broad public support, which, again, NGOs don't need. That's part of what makes them so dangerous. They just have to win the influence of a few.

Trump campaigned on imposing tariffs to help boost manufacturing in the United States. After co-host Michael Steele questioned whether the tariffs could create jobs, Fain responded. "NAFTA is still causing us to lose jobs in this country. Our broken trade system is still causing us to lose jobs in this country and no one from either party has been willing to even address the issue for 30 plus years. That's the first thing," Fain said. The leftwing media is attacking Maher for having platformed the President.Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin accused "Real Time" host Bill Maher in a testy exchange on Friday of having "fallen into the trap" by meeting with President Donald Trump the previous week. Maher, a longtime Trump critic who's nonetheless stood out on the late-night circuit with his criticism of leftist excess, said Trump was "gracious and measured" during his visit to the White House, acknowledging his warm words might not be well-received by progressives. Rogin, however, pushed back on Maher's decision to visit the White House and suggested that he had been used as part of a "PR stunt." "I think you've fallen into the trap, and I think I represent 99% of the internet when I say this: you've played the game of proximity is principle," Rogin said. "I'm not questioning your motivation, I'm questioning Trump's, OK?" Rogin emphasized that both he and the audience trusted that Maher met with Trump in good faith, but questioned Trump's motives for the dinner. The praise seemed to have struck a nerve with Maher, who told Rogin, "You don't have to patronize me, dude. I don't know you. I've never met you." "Not everybody has to like it. That's what we said. There are people who didn't want it to happen at all. You sound like one of them, it's OK." Rogin attempted to talk over the late-night host but was abruptly cut off by Maher asking, "Did you hear what I said? What is the alternative to not talking? Just sit at your lunch table and don't talk to anybody?" In his response to Maher, Rogin claimed that Trump saw this meeting as a "PR stunt," and used Maher as a "prop in that PR stunt." ... Not giving Rogin a chance to respond, Maher jumped right back into challenging his interpretation of the Trump meeting. "The fact that you began your little rant with 'the internet,' that tells me everything. You take your cues from the internet. Good luck," he told Rogin. Rogin attempted to push back on Maher, questioning whether the late-night host believed that Trump would be "changed" after the meeting. Maher quickly shut him down. Media firebrand Keith Olbermann has unleashed a scathing rebuke of comedian and HBO/Max host Bill Maher for Maher's praise for President Donald Trump following a dinner set up by Kid Rock. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Olbermann dismissed the dinner as a transactional move to preserve Maher's career, directly attacking Maher's character and motivations. Man Arrested for Attempting to Burn Down PA Governor Josh Shapiro's House as He and His Family Slept Inside
Pennsylvania State Police have arrested a Harrisburg man for the arson attack on Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family that sent them fleeing from the governor's residence on the first night of Passover. Cody Balmer, 38, of Harrisburg, is expected to face charges of attempted murder, terrorism, aggravated arson, and aggravated assault against an enumerated person, authorities said. Shapiro, who is Jewish, became visibly emotional as he spoke about the 2 a.m. attack on his home as he and his family slept inside.LOL, of course they can't determine the motive. But they have established that when the guy sought out Josh Shapiro's home, he was "targeting" it. He didn't try to burn down a random structure that turned out to be the governor's residence. Great job, guys. While we don't know his motive yet, he sure looks like antifa, as Stephen Green says.
"If he was trying to terrorize our family, our friends, the Jewish community, who joined us for a Passover Seder in that room last night, hear me on this: We celebrated our faith last night, proudly, and in a few hours, we will celebrate our second Seder of Passover," he said. The entire home was safely evacuated and no one was injured, Shapiro wrote on X. Balmer was allegedly carrying homemade incendiary devices when he snuck into the gated compound that is the official residence of the governor by jumping a fence, according to police. Investigators believe the attack was "targeted," but haven't determined a specific motive, Shapiro said. Police did not release more details on Balmer's actions.

NVIDIA announced Monday it will manufacture its AI supercomputers entirely in the U.S. for the first time. New facilities in Arizona and Texas are expected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and strengthen supply chain security, according to CEO Jensen Huang. Key Details: NVIDIA is partnering with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor, and SPIL to build and test AI chips and supercomputers at new sites in Arizona and Texas. More than a million square feet of manufacturing space has already been commissioned. Blackwell chip production is underway at TSMC's Phoenix plant, with Foxconn and Wistron facilities in Houston and Dallas set to ramp up supercomputer manufacturing over the next 12 to 15 months. Huang called the move a first for the company, saying, "The engines of the world's AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time," and emphasized the shift would "strengthen our supply chain and boost our resiliency."

Police Charge Two More Would-Be Assassins

A Wisconsin teen murdered his parents so that he'd inherit enough money to kill Trump and overthrow the government.
A Wisconsin teen allegedly killed his parents to "obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary" to kill President Donald Trump and overthrow the U.S. government, federal authorities said in court documents. Nikita Casap, 17, was arrested in March and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of hiding a corpse, according to Waukesha County authorities. Other charges include theft of property over $10,000 and misappropriating ID to obtain money. Court documents show investigators are pursuing federal charges including conspiracy, presidential assassination and use of weapons of mass destruction. The teen's stepfather, Donald Mayer, 51, and mother, Tatiana Casap, 35, were both found dead inside their home by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department on March 1, according to a press release from the department. The sheriff's department issued a search warrant and say they found material on the teen's phone related to "The Order of Nine Angles," which is "a network of individuals holding new-Nazi racially motivated extremist views," according to investigators. The Federal Bureau of Investigation reviewed documents allegedly written by the teen, which calls for the assassination of Trump and the start of a revolution to "save the white race," according to federal court documents. Less than a week after a horrifying survey found more than half of self-identified leftists believe killing President Donald Trump would be justifiable, a Pennsylvania man has been charged with threatening to murder the president and other U.S. officials. Shawn Monper, 32, of Butler -- the same Pennsylvania community where Trump came within a fraction of an inch of being assassinated last July -- faces federal charges of making threats to assault and murder Trump, DOGE advisor and Tesla founder Elon Musk, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, and others, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. "I want to applaud the outstanding and courageous investigative work of the FBI and the Butler Township Police Department, who thankfully identified and apprehended this individual before he could carry out his threats against President Trump's life and the lives of other innocent Americans," said Attorney General Pamela Bondi in a press release. Monper, who allegedly took to YouTube as "Mr. Satan," made a series of threatening statements between Jan. 15 and last weekend, according to the criminal complaint. On Tuesday, the FBI National Threat Operations Section (NTOS) "received an emergency disclosure," the Justice Department said. A subsequent federal investigation determined "Mr. Satan" was residing at Monper's residence, according to the DOJ. 'We Just Need to Start Killing People' Monper allegedly "sought and obtained a firearms permit shortly following President Trump's inauguration." In February, federal officials said he commented on his YouTube account, "I have bought several guns and been stocking up on ammo since Trump got in office." "Eventually im [sic] going to do a mass shooting," the suspect allegedly wrote in March. A week later, Monper stated: "I have been buying 1 gun a month since the election, body armor, and ammo," according to the criminal complaint. Here are the threatening statements Monper allegedly made, according to investigators. February 17, 2025: "Nah, we just need to start killing people, Trump, Elon, all the heads of agencies Trump appointed, and anyone who stands in the way. Remember, we are the majority, MAGA is a minority of the country, and by the time its [sic] time to make the move, they will be weakened, many will be crushed by these policies, and they will want revenge too. American Revolution 2.0." March 4, 2025: "im [sic] going to assassinate him myself." Wonper allegedly said this in a YouTube video titled "Live: Trump's address to Congress." March 18, 2025: "ICE are terrorist people, we need to start killing them." April 1, 2025: "If I see an armed ice agent, I will consider it a domestic terrorist, and an active shooter and open fire on them."

Laken Riley was one of those victims. Even after murdering Ms. Riley, Ibarra remained a hero to the left. In fact, President Biden actually apologized to Ibarra for using the term “illegal” to describe him. Unfortunately for the Democrats, most of the nation was aghast at Ms. Riley’s murder, and legislation was introduced in her honor by Congress mandating that illegal aliens accused of most felonies and violent crimes must be detained. Because of the notoriety of the Laken Riley murder, some Democrats broke rank out of political expediency and voted for the conservative legislation. Buyer’s remorse is starting to settle in on Democrats who broke rank, however. The base of the party still champions Laken Riley’s murderer, Jose Antonio Ibarra. Democrat Rep. President Donald Trump’s administration is seeking to end nearly all of the climate research conducted by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA), one of the country’s premier climate science agencies, according to an internal budget document seen by Science. The document indicates the White House is ready to ask Congress to eliminate NOAA’s climate research centers and cut hundreds of federal and academic climate scientists who track and study human-driven global warming.The entire premise is false. There is no human-driven global warming. “Climate science” is not science at all, it is simply the use of US taxpayer dollars to propagandize for global command and control of all human activities, and subject those same taxpayers to lives without liberty. It is bad enough that NOAA has lost its way in pursuit of global climate-communism, but it’s even more preposterous that NASA is wasting taxpayer dollars on climate propaganda. NASA is so lost and politicized that it’s no longer even capable of launching a person into space, having to rely instead on Russians and private companies. As best I can tell, NASA is now little more than a federal landlord leasing out launchpads to those capable of doing what it can no longer do.

Pennsylvania State Police have arrested a Harrisburg man for the arson attack on Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family that sent them fleeing from the governor’s residence on the first night of Passover. Cody Balmer, 38, of Harrisburg, is expected to face charges of attempted murder, terrorism, aggravated arson, and aggravated assault against an enumerated person, authorities said. Shapiro, who is Jewish, became visibly emotional as he spoke about the 2 a.m. attack on his home as he and his family slept inside. “If he was trying to terrorize our family, our friends, the Jewish community, who joined us for a Passover Seder in that room last night, hear me on this: we celebrated our faith last night, proudly and in a few hours, we will celebrate our second Seder of Passover,” he said.. . . . . Balmer was allegedly carrying homemade incendiary devices when he snuck into the gated compound that is the official residence of the governor by jumping a fence, according to police. Investigators believe the attack was “targeted,” but haven’t determined a specific motive, Shapiro said. Police did not release more details on Balmer’s actions.Could it be that some knuckle-dragging Jew-hater did this merely because Shapiro = Jew. Sadly, of course this is a possibility. Since then, I’ve heard about it again and again. Maybe the word hasn’t gotten to you yet. If not, here you go. EPIC City, according to an April 3 report by Caroline Vandergriff of CBS News, is a proposed “Muslim community” that is a project of the East Plano Islamic Center (hence the name EPIC) in partnership with a real-estate firm called Community Capital Partners. The plan is to construct “a thousand homes, a mosque, apartments, a school and more” on 402 acres in Collin and Hunt counties near the town of Josephine, about an hour northeast of Dallas. Since the initiative was announced last year, the leaders of the Islamic Center have hired Dan Cogdell, a leading Houston lawyer, “to help them navigate multiple state investigations” that were ordered by Governor Greg Abbott. In reaction to Abbott’s criticism of the EPIC City venture, Cogdell told Vandergraff that his clients “aren’t foreign adversaries” but “Texans.” “Americans.” “United States citizens.” And their only goal, he contended, “is to build a community that allows them to live together with people who value family and faith.” Yes, that’s what they want to do – but it’s not all that they want to do. They want to do Molenbeek and Tower Hamlets and Groruddalen one better. They want the total Muslim experience: no kafirun (infidels) with their uncovered wives and daughters and haram puppy dogs. If you wanted to defend EPIC City, you might point to the way in which the Amish settled Lancaster, Pennsylvania, or the Mormons’ establishment of Utah. But neither the Amish nor the Mormons have a doctrine of jihadist conquest. They aren’t instructed to despise non-believers or throw homosexuals from rooftops. Their sexual politics may be old-fashioned, but they’re light-years more advanced than Islam’s.

According to a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll, almost two-thirds of Americans support the deportation of non-citizen students who show support for ”internationally recognized terrorist groups.” 63 percent want those who “voice support” to be deported; 67% want those who “actively support” terrorists to be deported. The responses differ by party. 84% of Republicans support deportation of such people as Mahmoud Khalil, who “actively supports” Hamas, and 83% of Republicans would support deporting Rumeysa Öztürk, who has “voiced support” for terrorists. But a different picture is painted when we look at the responses of Democrats. The Democrats are morally muddled: some have held onto their wits and seen their way clear to supporting such deportations, but about half of them still think that holders of green cards should be allowed to stay, even if they “actively support” terrorist groups such as Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. I and others touched upon the related issue of the national debt and how it relates to all of this and this just hits the nail on the head vis a vis tariffs, DOGE and the attempt to rein in an out of control crazy train bureaucracy. . . . In contrast, only 42 percent of Democrats said they endorse deportation for foreign students who voice support for terrorist groups, compared to 58 percent who want them to stay on US spoil. Meanwhile, a slight majority, 51 percent, indicated the government should deport those who “actively support” such extremist organizations, while 49 percent oppose deportation in such circumstances…. What a great and disturbing divide between the parties: while 83% of Republicans would want foreign students to be deported if they voice support for terrorist groups, just about half that number — 42% — of Democrats would deport them for the same behavior; 58% would let them stay. When it comes to foreign students who “actively support” terrorist organizations, only 51% of Democrats would deport them, while 49% would let them stay.
Regarding the massive debt caused by China's trade surplus, China's strategy is to maintain export-led growth, which aids in generating jobs and enables it, through continued growth, to keep its large population productively engaged (and fed). Since this strategy is dependent on exports, China requires the yuan to continue to have a relatively lower value than the dollar and thus offer cheaper prices.. . . International trading that involves two currencies has a self-correcting mechanism. For example, China, currently running a trade surplus with the U.S., is sending goods to the U.S. and is getting paid in U.S. dollars. There is consequently a huge supply of dollars being held by China, which causes the dollar's value to depreciate against the yuan. This depreciation of the dollar, however, will eventually make U.S. exports cheaper and imports from China more expensive. Gradually, the U.S. will start exporting more and importing less, due to its lower-valued currency. This will ultimately reverse the current trading scenario. This is the self-correcting mechanism occurs in the international trade markets regularly, with little or no intervention from any authority. . . China wants to keep its exported goods competitively priced in the U.S. market. That cannot happen if the yuan appreciates in value. China thus keeps the yuan's value low compared to the dollar by using the intervention mechanism described above. However, this action leads to a huge pileup of dollars as forex reserves for China.China also manipulates the value of the yuan to keep its value low. China owns the trade deficit amount and expects the U.S. to pay the interest and principal when due (unless the U.S. defaults on its loan payments, which isn't likely). Speaking of loan payment defaults, China is currently in default on its sovereign debt held by American bondholders. "Lest anyone wonder about the age of these bonds, it is irrelevant. What matters is that this is a sovereign obligation." Kinda tells us who we're up against.And we just kept on borrowing and spending, for decades now. Someone's going to have to pay the piper.
