Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Thune Schemes to Put the Senate Into Recess Until Late August, Ending Any Chance of Passing SAVE Before the Elections![]() President Donald Trump on Monday called on Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) to keep the Senate in session to terminate the filibuster and pass the SAVE America Act. Trump took to Truth Social in the morning to pressure Thune to keep senators working in Washington until the SAVE America Act, which takes a number of steps to secure federal elections, is passed. "John Thune should not allow the United States Senate to 'leave town' until it passes The Save America Act or, far better still, TERMINATES THE FILIBUSTER, where Republicans can then quickly pass everything they ever dreamed of, including a full and deep throated SAVE AMERICA ACT, the Budget, and the ever looming Debt Ceiling disaster, 1929!" Trump wrote. Because 60 votes are required for passing the SAVE America Act -- which would require proof of citizenship when registering to vote, voter ID, and end universal mail-in ballots with a few exceptions -- Republicans would need to end the filibuster to advance it with a simple majority. Trump stressed that if and when Democrats return to power, they will immediately nuke the filibuster. "The Dumocrats will do it on day one, and can't believe how lucky they got with this Senate leadership. Remember, stupidity always brings LOSING & DEATH!" Trump added.Thune's scheme was to move to adjourn the Senate. If there is no objection, the motion would be approved unanimously with no roll-call. Scott Presler called for a Senator to object and force a Yea or Nay roll call. At least then the McConnell sell-outs like Thune, Lankford, McConnell, Murkowski, etc. would be on-the-record in favor of continued vote fraud by Democrats.
Meanwhile, Thune continues his mentor Mitch McConnell's practice of never formally recessing the Senate, thereby denying Trump the right enjoyed by all previous presidents of making temporary (one-year) recess appointments when the senate is recessed.

Easter Wings by George Herbert
Lord, who createdst man in wealth and store, Though foolishly he lost the same, Decaying more and more, Till he became Most poore: With thee O let me rise As larks, harmoniously, And sing this day thy victories: Then shall the fall further the flight in me. My tender age in sorrow did beginne And still with sicknesses and shame. Thou didst so punish sinne, That I became Most thinne. With thee Let me combine, And feel thy victorie: For, if I imp my wing on thine, Affliction shall advance the flight in me. Posted by: Oglebay at July 27, 2026 03:42 PM (2ap+5) 35

134 Now that the pandemic is over, has anybody calculated the actual fatality rate? If so, what was it?" Funny you should ask. Posted by: man at July 27, 2026 02:45 PM (XuXeR) Yeah, about that... Even just medium-quality data would include age and vaxx status. So, if the vaxx increased mortality for younger people, then even if the manufacturers are immune from legal liability, everyone that pushed it would be publicly subject to moral culpability. Commondreams.org: Trump Orders GOP Leader to Cancel Recess and Pass Massive Voter Suppression Bill
Experts say the so-called Save America Act would prevent millions from casting ballots by imposing onerous documentation requirements. These buffoons haven't explained how they would facilitate this document requirement for citizens so that they can vote unimpeded. It’s almost as if suppression is the goal. Offer to implement it in 2030, to get this implementation straightened out. They won't agree, but it will point out that the act its self is not the point the chaos it will cause is. The fact that most states' Real IDs don't live up to the standard of this bill as reported is such hot garbage. I want to remind everyone about the separation of our branches of government. The GOP bending the knee to everything he does makes that a flawed idea these days. Kinda fucked up when you realize that basically everything about our government is run on the honor system. Those with no honor can do whatever they want and there are practically zero consequences because nothing is codified. Thune continues his mentor Mitch McConnell's practice of never formally recessing the Senate, thereby denying Trump the right enjoyed by all previous presidents of making temporary (one-year) recess appointments when the senate is recessed.

Requiring ID and proper documentation is one thing. Enforcing the law when Judges routinely kick Republican observers out of precincts on election day is quite another. We've already seen tidbits of Lefties deciding they are just going to ignore the law, because repercussions have been scarce. Even Judges now ignore laws clarified by higher courts without any push back.
I'd suggest that you can pass all the SAVE Acts your heart desires. They will only be followed in red controlled voting districts. Bank on it. Posted by: Orson ======= Trump put a shot across their bow that if any of those officials knowingly let illegals vote, then they are criminally liable. That puts a chill in the cheat and they are prosecuting all those illegals that the Dems, GOPe, and the media tell us don't vote even if they are illegally registered. And I think he wins at Scotus on the US Postal Service rules. Scotus is getting tired of the First Circuit making up the law as they go along and their district judges are becoming a nuisance with their endless injunctions despite clear Scotus rulings. Whig, that looks good on paper, but here's the reality. There has a been a fast growing trend of ignoring the law, and that behavior is being sanctioned by local government and sometimes state government. Locations like Seattle and Portland flaunt that approach. The Governor of Minnesota issues pardons based on political spite. Newsom signs laws out of spite (ICE masks et. al). I'm usually leaning on the side of optimism, but on this particular issue we are talking about the continued existance of the Democrat party. Those are the stakes. This is their hill to die on, because there are no other hills. Even some of the lesser subtle Democrat congressional representatives are inadvertantly noting that if the SAVE Act passess and is instituted, they're finished. So, suppose it passes. Now what do they do. Well, they keep it from being enforced, which requires them to dig the hole deeper. They've never had an issue with that endeavor. An amendment to repeal an existing one can be proposed in one of two ways: either by a two-thirds vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, or by a constitutional convention called by Congress upon the application of two-thirds of state legislatures (currently 34 states). Ayers oh so conveniently escaped Justice on some sort of queer technicality. Like he had immunity, almost. Almost. Bernadine Dohrn praised the Sharon Tate slaughter, stating it was “Groovy!” that she was stabbed with a fork, among other … things. These people are monsters, make no mistake. They might have been outliers in 1969 but they are common now.
Ayers had a NYT hagiographic piece written in the New York Times, contemptuously standing on the American flag. It was only below the fold, because it was published 11 September 2001; it always seemed to me that there is most definitely serendipity, but it has a much darker side component as well. IMO, Trump talks about the MFM being the enemy of the people, but he treats them like simpleminded chuckleheads who just need a little slapping around. Posted by: Mary Poppins' Practically Perfect Piercing (aka Eloquent Depression) at July 27, 2026 04:34 PM (qRla/) he tried pulling a press pass, it was annulled by a judge to let Jim Acosta back in. He should just accredit more web sites and such to drown out the old line press and make them wait if they don't show up on time. Posted by: Oldcat at July 27, 2026 05:00 PM (uhVAy) 353
I'm very curious as to why the President of the Senate -- guy named Vance, you might have seen his memes -- both would allow a Senate recess, and particularly one with pro forma sessions preventing President Trump from making recess appointments.
He Constitutionally has the title that he *presides* over the body. Yet he's let them walk over Trump for the last eighteen months. Posted by: Philip Nolan at July 27, 2026 05:06 PM (1kQia) 354
Getting worried about Vance, started out well but seems to be slipping to the other side
