She's a well-put-together girl, too. See the video at the link. It's the Ugly People who are in a permanent froth about all the "injustices" in society. We good-looking people, the Non-Stinkies, are more reasonable because we don't view the world through hateful eyes clouded by resentment and humiliation. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Star rag has published a screed by a Democrat propaganadist calling for Butker to be fired, with a woman kicker hired in his place. The Democrat Party is nothing but hissing hysterical "men" and aggressive, off-putting and ugly women. Here's the op-ed.
"Well, I can only speak from my own experience, which is I've had the most incredible mom who had the ability to stay home and be with us as kids growing up. And I understand that there are many women out there who can't make that decision. But for me and my life, I know it was really formative and in shaping me and my siblings into who we are," Hunt said during a Friday morning appearance on Fox News. She also added that she really respects "Harrison and his Christian faith and what he's accomplished on and off the field."
Eat a dick, dude. Dick -- it's not just for Friday Nights.
For poetic justice after Harrison Butker's Neanderthal outburst -- and because the pipeline of talent is real -- the Kansas City Chiefs' next kicker should be a woman. This is not a joke. It's not unrealistic. And it would be good for business. Just ask the University of Manitoba how ticket sales were last year.
"Delightful."
The Chiefs need to make a strategic call about Butker's future with the team. If he could agree to shut his mouth, the current story might fade. There are, after all, plenty of athletes with backward cultural views, but they're tolerated if they can mostly stick to sports cliches in interviews. If they're superstars, they sometimes can keep yapping and get away with it. Harrison Butker is not Patrick Mahomes. He's a special teams player. That gives him less leverage with the team. They could trade him for a solid kicker, or they could make a statement by signing a woman to kick. Liz Heaston, Ashley Martin, Katie Hnida or Sarah Fuller might take a call. Maya Turner would likely give serious thought to an offer. And the farm system for talent is rich. There are more than 300 players on the 14 teams in the National Women's Soccer League. That's more than 300 women who are professional ball kickers and don't currently choose to be stay-at-home housewives. It would be delightful if one of them cost the Kansas City Chiefs kicker his job.
Her kick was... historic.
Collin Rugg
@CollinRugg NEW: The Kansas City Star is calling on the KC Chiefs to fire Harrison Butker and hire a female kicker after Butker advocated for traditional values during a speech. The opinion piece quickly notified readers that this was "not a joke" and "not unrealistic." "For poetic justice after Harrison Butker's Neanderthal outburst -- and because the pipeline of talent is real -- the Kansas City Chiefs' next kicker should be a woman." "The Chiefs need to make a strategic call about Butker's future with the team. If he could agree to shut his mouth, the current story might fade." The piece wrapped up by urging the Chiefs to consider hiring kickers like Sarah Fuller or Maya Turner. For reference, this is Sarah Fuller "making history" by becoming the first woman to play in a Power Five college football game.
So we learn in the NFL, you can be a rapist, woman beater, abandon your kids, a racist, misogynist, adulterer, you can be a number of things," but you can't be a conservative or a traditionalist. Iranian women celebrate the death of Iran's murderous president, called "The Butcher of Tehran," and, per the Washington Post, "an austere but severe religious scholar." They're dancing in the streets in Iran. They're even shooting fireworks. Even the Iran Proxy Government in the White House was critical of the Butcher of Tehran. But they still offered their patrons in Iran their condolences.
The United States on Monday offered its condolences over the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and the other members of their delegation killed in a helicopter crash over the weekend. "As Iran selects a new president, we reaffirm our support for the Iranian people and their struggle for human rights and fundamental freedoms," US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said in a statement, in an apparent swipe at the rights record of the deceased. Explaining the decision to offer official condolences in a subsequent briefing, Miller said the US does not want to see anyone die under such circumstances. However, he stressed that Raisi was a "brutal participant in the repression of the Iranian people for nearly four decades." "Some of the worst human rights abuses occurred during his tenure as president," Miller added. Iran asked the United States for assistance after the helicopter crash, Miller also revealed. "I'm not going to get into the details, but we were asked by the Iranian government for assistance," he told reporters, saying the US was unable to do so, "largely for logistical reasons."Um, Iran was asking for what? Was it technical information that might prove that Israel was behind the crash? And if that was the case -- why would they think that Biden would be open to giving them that?
Hours earlier, the head of the European Union and its foreign policy chief prompted outrage from some European politicians after expressing their own condolences over the death of Raisi. Some more good news: A dreg with a restraining order against him showed up a California woman's house. She took care of business.
Police in California said a woman protecting herself against a knife-wielding attacker fatally shot him outside her home Friday evening, FOX11 reported. Authorities said that the woman made a 911 call at 9:20 pm to report that there was a man armed with a knife outside her house, according to FOX11. The suspect, who had a restraining order against him filed by the woman, allegedly tried to stab the woman and another man at the home before the woman fatally shot the suspect, FOX11 reported. All part of California's "YOU Get to Be Your Own Police!" initiative. It's very popular with 7-year-old boys. Apparently the hand-picked Democrat hanging judge Merchan grew so angry at a Trump witness he literally screamed and cleared everyone out of the courtroom, claiming that the witness was "staring" him down, and claiming it constituted a security threat.
ecall that Robert Costello previously blasted Michael Cohen as a "convicted perjurer" and said Bragg's prosecutors cherry-picked emails. Crooked Judge Merchan excoriated Costello and cleared the courtroom! Here is the exchange between Judge Merchan and Robert Costello courtesy of TGP contributor Paul Ingrassia who is inside of the NYC courtroom live reporting:Here's Just The News's report. The "hand-picked" judge Merchan really didn't like Costello spilling the beans on star witness Cohen.TGP's Paul Ingrassia said the trial resumed after a delay following a fiery exchange between Judge Merchan and Bob Costello. "Merchan is absolutely seething over Costello's damning testimony. The type of treatment Costello, an experienced prosecutor who once worked for the US Attorney's Office for New York in the 1970s and early 1980s, is receiving on the witness stand from the judge is disgusting," Paul Ingrassia said. "Merchan is visibly perturbed, condescending, and downright abusive of the witness on the stand. Outrageous behavior from a judge, and totally inappropriate for any courtroom! No decorum whatsoever!" Ingrassia said.
Merchan grows irate, begins EXCORIATING Robert Costello on the stand for making a few off-handed remarks and rolling his eyes during the testimony. Merchan: Are you staring me down right now? Costello: I'm not. Merchan: GET OUT OF THE COURTROOM, NOW! GET OUT OF THE COURTROOM!... -- Paul Ingrassia (@PaulIngrassia) May 20, 2024
He said "geez" because the judge was protecting Cohen from Costello's testimony about him.
New York Judge Juan Merchan admonished a defense witness in former President Donald Trump's alleged hush money case on Monday, after the witness acted improperly on the witness stand. ... The defense brought up former Trump legal adviser Robert Costello as its second witness, who was testifying about the state of mind of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen when it became clear that the FBI was targeting him. Costello however had allegedly rolled his eyes, and said "geez" when Merchan sustained an objection from prosecutors, which earned condemnation from the judge. Merchan ordered the courtroom to be cleared so he could criticize Costello about "proper decorum" in the courtroom.
So this little pillow-biter, caught breaking the law on his own behalf, would do anything to get out of jail. Got it. In more News of Democrat Justice -- California's top Democrat lawyers are urging prosecutors to drop the investigation of Soros DA Gascon's top aide, who accessed confidential, protected files about her old boss's political opponents and their donors. It was just a Whoopsie, you know. Not a real campaign violation like the one Trump committed.
"When there is an eyewitness on the stand, if you don't like a ruling, you don't say 'Geez,'" the judge chastised Costello, according to Politico. "And then you don't say strike it. You don't give me side eye and you don't roll your eyes." The press and jury were allowed back in moments later. Costello testified that Cohen was suicidal when he encountered him after the FBI had raided Cohen's office and residence. Costello claimed that Cohen told him he had been on the roof of the Regency Hotel and was going to "jump off and kill himself because he couldn't handle the ongoing criminal case," just two days before their meeting.
California's top Democratic lawyers urged Attorney General Rob Bonta to drop 11 felony charges filed against Los Angeles Ethics and Integrity Assistant District Attorney Diana Teran, a top lieutenant of embattled Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon. The 11 charges are for illegally accessing confidential, "statutorily-protected" law enforcement files in her current role and prior role as Constitutional Policing Advisor at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department while investigating officers for potential misconduct. "We are writing to express our concern at the recent charges your office filed against Los Angeles Assistant District Attorney Diana Teran, and the chilling effect we believe this will have on policies and programs intended to ensure transparency, promote public trust and confidence in law enforcement agencies, and enable agency compliance with constitutional obligations," wrote the Prosecutors Alliance, a group of prosecutors advocating for progressive criminal justice reform, to California Attorney General Rob Bonta.AMC slaps trigger warnings on Goodfellas for "cultural stereotypes inconsistent with today's standards."
They're whacking a classic. AMC Networks added a trigger warning to the classic mob movie "Goodfellas" -- rankling those who were in the film and wiseguys alike. "This film includes language and/or cultural stereotypes that are inconsistent with today's standards of inclusion and tolerance and may offend some viewers," a message reads at the top of the film when screened on the network. The warning was first affixed to the movie during the height of Black Lives Matter riots when many businesses and cultural institutions made avoiding offense to various groups a core part of their missions. Disney has made a cottage industry of affixing warnings to their century-long oeuvre of content. "In 2020, we began adding advisories in front of certain films that include racial or cultural references that some viewers might find offensive," an AMC rep told The Post. But the warning for Goodfellas apparently doesn't apply to other mob flicks. "The Godfather" -- which also plays on AMC and features many of the same themes -- is presented with a more standard "viewer discretion" warning covering "brief nudity, strong language and intense violence." "The f--king political correctness has f--king taken everything away," Bo Ditel, a former NYPD cop who played a police officer in "Goodfellas," told The Post. "This is how life was back then. It was not a clean beautiful thing. You can't cleanse history. If you want to tell true history, you gotta tell it the way it is."Jake Tapper, Democrat Party Seal-Clapper, helpfully Goose-Honks to the trashy woman that started the fight in Congress: wasn't it really racist to say that your obviously fake eyelashes are fake?
Earlier I posted some Axios propaganda, claiming that Senate Democrats are backing up Biden's insane claims that every poll in the country is #rigged against him. But other Democrats don't seem to believe the polls are #rigged -- because they're angry that the GOP is linking them to Biden. If Biden really were #SecretlyPopular, they wouldn't complain about being linked to him, would they?
'Hell no': Endangered Senate Dems chafe at relentless GOP drive to tie them to Biden Senate Democratic hopefuls in red and purple states must carve out distance from the president to keep running ahead of his numbers -- while dodging hits that they're shifting gears to win reelection. Jon Tester recently became the first Democratic senator to sign onto a stringent GOP immigration bill. He isn't happy that Republicans are accusing him of a late-stage transformation into a border hawk. "They're full of shit. And whoever told you that, you can say 'Jon Tester said you're full of shit,'" the Montana Democrat said in an interview, responding to GOP claims that his support for the Laken Riley Act -- named for the nursing student killed earlier this year by an undocumented immigrant -- was an act of political expediency. "I firmly believe in my heart of hearts that if you're here and you're undocumented ... and you break the law, you should be shipped back," Tester added. He indicated in March he'd support the legislation as a standalone bill. Republicans counter that Tester joined other Democrats to rule out the addition of new immigration restrictions to a must-pass spending bill. Meanwhile, the GOP is running millions of dollars in ads hitting him for "supporting Biden's border disaster." The episode underscores the core challenge facing this year's Senate Democratic hopefuls in red and purple states: They must carve out distance from President Joe Biden to keep running ahead of his numbers -- while dodging political hits that they're shifting gears purely to win reelection. Because Biden is no sure bet in November and may offer Democrats little coattails to ride, Senate hopefuls across the country are hoping to defuse a sustained GOP campaign linking them to Biden. And with little must-pass business scheduled the rest of the year and a divided Congress, Democrats will have plenty of opportunities to emphasize strategic differences with their party's leader.Biden needs 40cc of methamphetamine, stat!

YouTube censorship of election, COVID claims in crosshairs of U.S., Canadian courts
The government continues to press for censorship, via "private organizations" controlled by the government (and CIA).
YouTube's censorship of COVID-19 and election claims isn't a problem for the company in Europe. It might be a problem in North America. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is weighing whether to prevent the Google-owned platform from censoring videos with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the duration of his independent presidential candidacy, while a Canadian court greenlit a class-action lawsuit on behalf of both censored YouTube creators and viewers denied the opportunity to watch their videos. Touting its efforts to protect next month's European parliamentary elections, YouTube disclosed in a May 9 blog post that it removed more than 35,000 purported "misinformation" videos last year. That recalls the Election Integrity Partnership, conceived and shepherded by the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, estimating that platforms removed, labeled or "soft-blocked" supposed misinformation reported through EIP's system 35% of the time in the 2020 U.S election season.
Perfect. They're training machines to censor people beyond the capabilities of even 100,000 human censors. Then they'll just claim "the algorithm" is responsible for the censorship, so obviously this is all Objective and Scientific.
"Our global team of reviewers combine with machine learning technology to apply these policies at scale, 24/7," against hate speech, harassment, incitement to violence and "certain types of elections [sic] misinformation," the uncredited YouTube blog post says.
"Our Intelligence Desk has also been working for months to get ahead of emerging issues and trends that could affect the EU elections, both on and off YouTube," the also post reads. It's using artificial intelligence to further reduce views of "violative content," which was 11-12 of every 10,000 views in the fourth quarter of 2024. ... Censorship of Kennedy for his statements on COVID-19 vaccines are prominent in the Twitter Files and other document tranches obtained through litigation and by Congress. Biden administration counterterrorism officials sought counsel from a group promoting his censorship. Congressional Democrats tried to stop or at least limit Kennedy's testimony at a censorship hearing last year, citing his comments on COVID looking "ethnically targeted," then slurred him as a racist and antisemite when Republicans blocked their effort. Democrats also pressured YouTube to reverse its decision last summer to stop suppressing supposed 2020 election misinformation, even as it censored and throttled videos with Kennedy. While Biden sics Google on people for peddling "election misinformation" about 2020, Senate Democrats are coordinating a message that all of the current polls are fake. As I've mentioned before, to pull off a Big Steal, they first have to prepare the public for a huge undetected Biden vote in the polls. If the public suspects a steal, it could be bad for the thieves. So it's important for the thieves to prep the battlespace and tell everyone that Biden has many, many more votes than you think he does. So don't be surprised when lots of Secret Biden Voters send in mail-in ballots! It's not just the feeble, demented Biden, Axios tells us. Democrat Senators, including some whose brain scans do not resemble swiss cheese used as sporting clays, claim they believe the Free Republic 1996-2008 and say the polls are skewed.
The Coalition of the Unliving is a powerful force in American politics and the Voting Dead are notoriously difficult to reach by phone.
Democratic senators who represent presidential battlegrounds agree with President Biden -- polls showing him trailing former President Trump in those key states are wrong. Why it matters: The skepticism is especially notable because a number of Democrats from those states have a polling lead over their Republican opponents in pivotal Senate races. "No, I do not think that they are accurate," Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) told Axios. Her retirement has triggered one of the most competitive Senate races. Democrat Elissa Slotkin has been leading in early polls, even as Biden lags behind Trump. "The polls showed that I was down when I entered my race. And polls didn't look that great for Angela Alsobrooks a couple weeks ago, but she won the primary heartedly," Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) told Axios. The big picture: After Trump's 2016 expectation-defying win, pollsters and strategists made adjustments aimed at better capturing Trump supporters. Now, Democrats say the polls are missing key voter dynamics on their side.
"There are certain communities that are missed," added Warnock, who narrowly ousted Republican Kelly Loeffler in a 2021 runoff. Still, Democratic Senate candidates in Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are running well ahead of Biden and lead their Republican rivals, according to the latest New York Times/Sienna survey. ... Why it matters: The skepticism is especially notable because a number of Democrats from those states have a polling lead over their Republican opponents in pivotal Senate races. Now, Democrats say the polls are missing key voter dynamics on their side.
Speaking of Arizona: Trump is leading Biden by 5.
... Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) also told Axios elections in his state are always going to be close, but he predicted Biden would win. He added that he would like to see Biden and Vice President Harris visit Arizona more.

Oh.
MSNBC and the left have now justified: * Beating people on the street for disagreeing with you * Setting businesses on fire because you're on the race-rag * Menacing Jewish students if you're angry that Jews are good at warfare and Arabs are only good at terrorist bombings, rapes, and kidnappings * Stealing a hoard of cash if you think you "deserve" it It's a criminal advocacy channel. Before getting to MSNBC's latest defense of venality and criminality in the name of The Great Un-patriotic Cause... The persecution has now rested, proving not a single one of its allegations, and leaving everyone still perplexed about what crime Trump is supposed to have committed. The prosecution has rested its case in Donald Trump's trial, with Michael Cohen, Trump's former lawyer, as the last witness. The defense attacked Cohen's credibility during cross-examination. Key Details: Michael Cohen, the key witness, testified about the hush-money payment to Stormy Daniels, revealing his own financial misconduct. The defense highlighted Cohen's past lies under oath and financial gains from his association with Trump. Closing arguments are expected next week, with the defense potentially calling three witnesses.
Byron York
@ByronYork CNN analyst notes that Michael Cohen's admission of stealing $60,000 from his employer is 'a higher degree of crime than what Trump is charged with.'
ShipwreckedcrewI'd like to pop this slimy grub right in his cocksucker.
@shipwreckedcrew In you are not following closely: Cohen admitted on cross-exam that he embezzled tens of thousands of dollars from Trump Inc., but is not being prosecuted by the Manhattan DA because of his cooperation by testifying about false business record entries that are misdemeanors. Cohen's crimes are clear felonies that he admitted to. He also admitted he would lie under oath when his personal interests are at stake. He then admitted that he makes money from the fact that Trump is on trial. He tried to claim that he would make more money from an acquittal than he would a conviction.

Trump is making lemonade out of being stuck in NY -- he's holding a rally in the Bronx this Thursday evening.
George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said Monday that the judge in the Trump business records trial violated ethics rules with his donation to President Joe Biden's 2020 election campaign, and questioned why he was presiding over the case at all. Merchan made a $15 donation to Biden's election campaign in 2020, a $10 donation to a group called "Stop Republicans" and a $10 donation to a "Progressive Turnout Project," according to data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Turley said that the small size of the donation was irrelevant. "It is very clear, they say you can't make political contributions and he did," Turley said on "Fox and Friends" after co-host Ainsley Earhardt mentioned the donations. "And the fact it is 'de minimus' or small, really, I think, misses the point. You make donations to show your support, that is what that $15 did." "What's also concerning for many is that Merchan was not randomly selected, he was hand-picked as the judge for this case, and many of us don't understand it," Turley continued. "You have a judge who is donor to the president, whose daughter is a major Democratic operative, you would think this would be an easy call, there are plenty of other judges." ... "He's not going to be held accountable to the bar association, but this is one of the many aspects of this trial that are troubling to those who view this as the weaponization of the system," Turley said.
Former President Donald Trump is set to hold his first major rally in his native state of New York since his 2016 White House bid, following a record-breaking event in Wildwood, New Jersey. The rally is scheduled for May 23rd in the South Bronx. There were a couple of late updates to the earlier post about Cohen's testimony. I'll repost that stuff.
The rally will take place at 6 p.m. in Crotona Park, with Trump expected to address New York's economy, crime rate, and migrant crisis. This is Trump's first rally in his birth state since a 2016 event in Buffalo. The Trump campaign has criticized President Biden's policies, blaming them for increases in murder and assault rates in New York, as well as a surge in the cost of goods.
It's the graft journey, not the grift destination.
...Before the break, Cohen was forced to lay out how his income is now based almost entirely on attacking Trump ... ...Cohen admits that he worked for three months to pitch his reality show "The Fixer." He also said that he is considering a third book. Khamenei.irMartyrdom?
@khamenei_ir With deep sorrow and regret, I have received the bitter news of the martyrdom of the people's President, the competent, hard-working Haj Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi, and his esteemed entourage.
Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were confirmed dead overnight Monday, following a helicopter crash in the northwest region of the country. The discovery puts to rest, nearly 12 hours of uncertainty over the whereabouts and condition of the country's president. Though nominal in power to the Supreme Leader, the incident has led to the elevation of 1st Vice President Mohammad Mokhber as acting president ahead of fresh elections.I mean... I don't want to start any rumors, but...
President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials were aboard the helicopter that crashed in a mountainous region of northwest Iran early Sunday morning. The crash has forced Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to install interim leadership for Iran's executive branch. An Israeli official denied any involvement in the crash, countering Iran's accusations given the ongoing conflict between the two nations.

Update: CNN Admits "This Is Significant"
There may be some doubts about this wormy pussy's credibility.
Jonathan Turley is in the courtroom.Jonathan TurleyTurley's next part deals with payments to Weisselburg, which I don't understand the significance of, so I'll omit it. Cohen then admitted he sold his influence to various corporate clients:
@JonathanTurley Blanche just got Cohen to say that he handed over $20,000 in a paper bag to close end a financial dispute. There is something quintessentially Cohen about the scene... ...Weisselberg later paid Cohen for $60,000 rather than $20,000. Cohen admits that he stole from the Trump organization. He also told federal prosecutors about stealing the money but was never charged with larceny... ...These are hits below the waterline for Cohen but also the prosecutors. They had a man admitting to a major larceny but never charged Cohen. That made Cohen not only their man, but allowed him to keep stolen money... ...Blanche is now going in for the kill. He was that he lied to Weisselberg and "to this day you have never fixed that" and disclosed this to the District Attorney...
Trump's lawyer then asked Cohen about all the times he'd previously denied that Trump knew anything about these payments.
...Cohen admits that he made $4 million from four clients including AT&T. Blanche asked what work he actually did for AT&T and he said "consulting." Cohen said that he had only 20 communications with AT&T and was paid $600,000... ...Novartis hired him as a consultant and was paid $1.5 million for just six communications. I previously wrote about these retainers as Cohen sought to cash in on his relationship with Trump... ...It was classic Cohen and I criticized the contract as access and influence peddling with these companies...
...Cohen admits that he told reporters (on the record) that Trump did not know about the payments to Stormy Daniels. He told BBC for example that "there was no way" that he would have told Trump. Cohen recorded the interview with the BBC reporter without her knowledge... ...Up until April 2018 that Cohen continued to tell reporters, friends, and family that Trump had no knowledge or involvement in the payments. Then on April 9th the FBI raided his home...Update: "His journey."
...Before the break, Cohen was forced to lay out how his income is now based almost entirely on attacking Trump ... ...Cohen admits that he worked for three months to pitch his reality show "The Fixer." In June of 2023 Cracker Barrel went woke, deciding that it could bring in new customers and investors by sexualizing the front porch with rainbow-striped rocking chairs. As it turned out, that was not a good marketing strategy, and it had the effect of repulsing existing customers who don’t want country cooking to be sexualized, be it gay, straight, or otherwise.
The fallout was immediate, with consumers announcing boycotts and the stock price taking an initial hit. Despite a lack of headlines or buzz since then, the boycott has continued and has been devastating to Cracker Barrel. The restaurant chain permanently ran off a great many loyal customers, and the persistently “unexpected” decline in traffic is taking a serious financial toll on the company. It was just announced this week that Cracker barrel is slashing its dividend by 81%. Cracker Barrel stock has fallen from $102 per share at the start of “Pride Month” 2023 to $49 per share now, a 52% decline. “Cracker Barrel (CBRL) Stock Down on Dividend Cut, Dismal View” [Yahoo Finance – 5/17/2024]
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. CBRL recently announced an update on its third and fourth quarter of fiscal 2024 financial results. The company expects lower-than-anticipated traffic to negatively impact its performance. Additionally, it announced plans to accelerate investments in organic growth by reallocating capital and reducing its quarterly dividend to $0.25 per share from $1.30. Following the announcements, the stock declined 10.3% in after-hours trading on May 16.I first wrote about this in June 2023
When I want a catfish dinner and some old time candy, I could not possibly care less about the sexual behaviors of the restaurant’s staff or patrons. I’d be grossed out if Cracker Barrel was devoting a month to celebrating heterosexual sex. It may not just be ESG pressure, there is every possibility that Cracker Barrel hired an Ivy League MBA to work some magic on its brand image, just like Bud Light did. Oh well, even if heartland American stop going to Cracker Barrel, maybe those lost customers can be replaced by coastal leftists who are all wrapped up in sexual identities. So long as Cracker Barrel pivots to serving sustainable, organic, locally sourced, GMO-free fare in hip, urban settings, there should be no problem replacing the customer base that is being run off.The customer backlash was immediate and devastating, as business in June and July 2023 plummeted.

I'm not sure what programmers are thinking when they do things like this. Two cases I ran into over the weekend:
- In the LXD service for managing containers and virtual servers, you can route individual ports from the public internet to specific containers. If you have an email server in a container, you can route just the email ports (SMTP, POP, IMAP and so on) to it, without exposing anything else.
If you want to preserve the public IP address - important in a lot of tasks - you have to set up this route in NAT mode.
You can't do that; your container needs a static IP first.
You can't add a static IP to your container; you can't override the network connection on the default bridge.
You can't override the default bridge... Wait, you can override the default bridge? Why can I do that, but not just assign a static IP, which is a much more trivial operation?
- When setting up multiple blogs under WordPress, the first thing you need to do is edit the WordPress source code.
Then you have to disable all your plugins.
Then you can run the setup routine to configure a multi-site network.
What that setup routine does is give you a list of additional changes you need to make to the WordPress source code - and to your Apache configuration.
This makes my own blogging software feel like a beacon of light in a howling void, when at this point it's mostly kind of meh and seriously needs updating.

Quote I “What I really didn’t like was the fact that as an officer of the court, he walked out and bashed the proceedings, the court, the judiciary, and that’s not fair. And as an officer of the court you have a duty to uphold that." Gutless RINO US Senator who spoke anonymously. The Republicans in D.C. still don't get it do they.
Quote II “One thing is to take tradition into account, to consider situations from the past. But quite another is to be closed up inside a dogmatic box. A bishop must be a shepherd and the shepherd must be in the middle of his herd and maybe right in there with his flock, be it pretty, ugly, big, small, good or bad.” Pope Francis

I'll be driving back from the frozen north during most of this thread, so please play nicely, and put your damned dishes in the dishwasher...or at least the sink!
