Chris Murphy Proposes Antisemitic Conspiracy Theory: Netanyahu Isn't Fighting the War to Save His Nation, But Just to Deny Harris the Ceasefire She Craves and Thereby "Influence" the US Elections

Didn't Zelenskyy literally just campaign with Democrats in Pennsylvania? A state I'm guessing has a good-sized Ukranian population?

The background for this antisemitic conspiracy theory is that American Muslims insanely believe that Kamala Harris is "pro-Israel" (meaning, she is not courageous enough to speak the truth, which is that she supports all terrorism and all crimes against "non-diverse" people, of whatever country). They're withholding their support and votes, and the Democrat Party needs to give them a political deliverable -- saving their terrorist allies from a final reckoning.

This is the "Uncommitted" movement, Muslims declaring they will not vote for Harris until she demands an arms embargo against Israel. (While we continue giving Hamas and Iran money, naturally.)

The Democrats can't go that far, at least not openly. So what they need as a second-best option is for Netanyahu to voluntarily pull their fat out of the fire by allowing murderous terrorists to escape to maim, kill, and rape again.

And Murphy is angry that This Scheming Jew Netanyahu won't play ball!

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) says he's worried Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be trying to influence the U.S. presidential election by showing little interest in striking a peace deal with Hamas and instead escalating the threat of a broader war in the Middle East by aggressively confronting Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Murphy acknowledged that the prospect of peace in Gaza before Election Day does not seem likely and that Netanyahu appears to have an eye on domestic U.S. politics as he wages a bombing campaign deep into Lebanon targeting Hezbollah.

"I certainly worry that Prime Minister Netanyahu is watching the American election as he makes decisions about his military campaigns in the north and in Gaza," Murphy told CNN's Erin Burnett.

"I hope this is not true, but it is certainly a possibility that the Israeli government is not going to sign any diplomatic agreement prior to the American election as a means, potentially, to try to influence the result," Murphy said, alluding to the deep divisions among the Democratic Party over the war in Gaza.

Murphy said he hopes he is wrong in that assessment but stated that the evidence is pointing toward that conclusion.

"I don't think you have to be a hopeless cynic to read some of Israel's actions, some of Prime Minister Netanyahu's actions, as connected to the American election," Murphy said.

The lack of a peace deal in Gaza is a politically liability for President Biden and Vice President Harris most prominently in Michigan, which is home to a large population of Palestinian Americans and other people of Middle Eastern heritage.

How small-minded and provincial. Murphy is obsessed with winning the American presidential election, so he assumes everyone else in the world must have this same priority. Netanyahu isn't fighting a three-front war against Hamas, Hezballah, and Murphy's pals in Iran because of 10/7 and an intolerable 30+ years of nonstop terrorism; no, it must be because he rilly cares who's in the White House.

In addition, this is an antisemitic conspiracy theory straight up: No one would have any doubts about this if someone the left could claim was "on the right" said that American politics were controlled from Tel Aviv.

But when a leftist says the same thing, it's... what? Just Askin' Questions?

Noted Right-Wing Extremist amateur webzine Slate has written that Kamala Harris is, get this, lying about Israel. This article -- which I bet was pitched to Slate by a Harris staffer -- tries to explain to American Muslims that Kamala Harris actually supports Hamas, she's just using vague and deceptive language to say so.

But she's on the terrorists' side, American Muslims! So you should vote for her!

It wasn't so much what she said. It was how she said it.

"Israel has a right to go after the terrorists that are Hamas," Vice President Kamala Harris told reporters on Aug. 10. It was a standard line, used many, many times by officials seeking to defend Israel's ongoing war in Gaza.

But watch the video of the moment: Her discomfort is obvious. She raises her hands, palms outward, as if to say, Look. "I mean, Israel has a right ..."--and she pauses.

"... to ..."--her hands circle in the air, as if she's searching for adequate words for the situation.

"... go after the terrorists that are Hamas," she finishes at last. She sounds deeply exasperated. "But," she adds--and now her hands are clasped, her words fluent--"as I have said many, many times: They also have, I believe, an important responsibility to avoid civilian casualties."

These are the same words President Joe Biden himself has used many times to condemn civilian deaths, even as his administration has shoveled money to the Israeli war machine and provided diplomatic cover for its leaders. The difference is largely in Harris' tone.

"Sometimes, it's the music and not the words," says Jeremy Ben-Ami, director of the advocacy group J Street, which supports Palestinian self-determination. "I think there's a real sense that this is not just lip service, but she really means it, and I think that comes across."

Slate gives away the game here: This article is directed at pro-Hamas Muslims. It wants to decode Harris' Yassir Arafat-like language for them, and let them know what she's really saying:

But not everyone in the Palestinian-advocacy world is picking up the melody that Ben-Ami is hearing. For them, Harris' statements on Israel are frustratingly vague or infuriatingly routine.

There remain several unknowns in terms of Harris' beliefs about and plans for policy in the region if she's elected. Is it possible that Harris, who has built her campaign on a distaste for bullies, feels a true moral outrage about Israel's brutal and asymmetrical war? Does she view anti-Zionists as a voter bloc worth listening to? Would her administration depart from her predecessor's unwavering support for the Israel Defense Forces? Americans who care about the slaughter in Gaza are waiting for an unambiguous answer.

"We need more than words," says (Hamas activist] Latif. "We need action, which means an arms embargo."

But Harris can't personally take that action, as the vice president--at least not now, not without great political cost. Nor does she have much room for explicit statements of support. There is reason to believe Harris is trying to signal that she is sympathetic with the cause of Uncommitted or open to their goals. But a small yet significant number of voters, on all sides of the issue, are waiting on a more definitive answer to decide whether to cast a ballot for her. And in an election as close as this, what those voters decide she believes and plans to do in Israel-Palestine could help determine whether she wins the White House. For Latif and others, subtle signs might not be enough.

Harris may be singing their tune, but they might not hear her.

So she is "singing this tune," "subtly."

The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

Shana Tova! The year is starting out rather well, with the stupendous military and intelligence achievements of the last few weeks showing the Muslim and Arab world that there is indeed a fist inside the glove of Israel.

As any student of Islam will tell you, it is a religion (or more accurately a political philosophy) that recognizes power, and more importantly for the future fortunes of the West...it recognizes weakness. Sadly it sees weakness in abundance in every Western capitol, and Islam will continue its march across the West until a 21st Century King Sobieski leads his Hussars against it and crushes its expansionism...for now.

But we have Israel...tiny little Israel...leading the charge. It is not big enough or strong enough, nor does it have the support of the West; in fact quite the opposite. But at least it will defend its neighborhood against the depredations of Islam and its current representative: Iran. Even the Mullahs are reeling, with Khamenei in hiding and their vaunted missile force neutered in an attack against Israel just a few nights ago. Israel's very Western love of life and its people was the driving force behind the incredible success of its defenses...shelters for its people, and a technological marvel in its missile defenses.

Contrast that with the billions that Hamas and Hezbollah spent on terrorist infrastructure... under the homes of their so-called people!

That is the difference...and that is what will save the West. When we rise up and say, "Enough!" and begin to defend our people and our culture and our institutions from the hordes that mean to drag us back to the 7th Century.

When will that happen? Who knows! Will it happen at all? Yes. There is a spark in all of us that desires freedom and liberty. Eventually it will win out. Perhaps not before we descend into the darkness of totalitarianism, or perhaps we will rise up before that...

Good Morning Kids. And I want to wish all of you, Jew and Gentile alike L'shona tovah for a sweet new year ahead. As we look at what's happening in Israel, we are once again reminded of the cost of freedom. As of this morning's report, there are at least 8 Israeli soldiers who are reported KIA in the latest battle with Hezbollah, along with however many who gave their lives in eradicating Hamas in Gaza, along with unarmed civilians shot, beaten, raped and abused to death, including babies roasted alive in front of their parents. On top of the past 75 years of wars and terrorist attacks since the modern nation state of Eretz Israel was RE-established in 1948 on the land where it had always been for thousands of years prior. It is after all the new year of 5785.

The American experiment, lest we forget, was given life by men who patterned it on Judeo-Christian tradition and history. Also, as our national cemeteries, and your own family histories can attest, paid many times over in blood and treasure to preserve. And as you scan the links, and in bitter truth, experience economic and even social hardships as a result of the gradual and now rapid abandonment and dissolution of the American experiment by a political movement and its party that is every bit as evil and implacable as Islam is in its multi-generational zeal to eradicate Judaism and Christianity around the globe, in its quest for absolute permanent power.

Given not just the two assassination attempts on Donald Trump, but those of Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, JFK and Reagan. By any means necessary is not just blather coming from Al Sharpton's bullhorn. They mean business.

So, Doug Emhoff pimp-slapped his girlfriend in public at Cannes back in 2012. Trump said "pussy" and was falsely accused of rape while committing the heinous crime against humanity of throwing a monkey wrench into the Left Globalists' plan of Fundamental transformation of America into a shithole socialist state. And for that he and all of us who stand in the way of that need to be put in our place. Ultimately, as history sadly teaches us, if we do nothing and continue on the path we are headed, will be a mass grave or the lake of ashes at Birkenau.

Or is it Behar. It sure isn't dishwashing liquid. Speaking of knuckle sandwiches, maybe we can get Doug Emhoff to the MSNSDAP set for a demo. As I await the man in the van from the ministry of truth and reconciliation.

Now that the Great Walz of China has flamed out, and Trump seems to be on the rise across most key demographics and in swing states, even so-called Democrat blue wall states and every state in the union, is this moldy oldie all that's left for the Left. Heck, the USSS is understaffed and underfunded (pfft), surely they can dig up another patsy with a gun from Central casting, nein?

In all fairness, the USSS is too busy protecting the Iranian president. Even while Iran is probably trying its hand at whacking Trump.

Special Counsel Jack Smith regurgitated Democrats’ phony “fake electors” smear in his latest brief filed against Donald Trump in federal court on Wednesday. Smith previously indicted Trump for questioning the administration of the 2020 election.
Writing in his 165-page screed about Trump’s legal efforts challenging the results of the 2020 contest, Smith claimed that Trump engaged in criminal activity by, among other alleged actions, “manufacturing fraudulent electoral votes in the targeted states.” This “plan,” the Merrick Garland appointee contended, was designed to “cause” Trump electors in these states to “sign and send to [Vice President Mike Pence], as President of the Senate, certifications in which they falsely represented themselves as legitimate electors who had cast electoral votes for [Trump].”

. . . It’s worth mentioning that Democrats had no problem advocating for electors to vote differently during the 2016 election following Trump’s victory against Hillary Clinton. As my colleague Jordan Boyd previously highlighted, corporate media ran “[a]rticles demanding state electors ‘prevent an irresponsible demagogue from taking office’ and overrule Americans to install Hillary Clinton as president” as part of their efforts to keep Trump from taking office.

Smith’s brief comes months after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that presidents possess “absolute immunity” for “actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority” and “at least presumptive immunity” for “official acts.” The high court separately noted, however, that “[t]here is no immunity for unofficial acts,” and remanded the Biden-Harris Justice Department’s get-Trump lawfare back to the lower courts to determine whether certain actions alleged by Smith constitute “official acts.”

The entire case, along with the 1/6/21 as a Trump-led insurrection against the government reeks to high heaven. But to do this literally weeks before the election and just one day after the VP debate which could prove to have been a pretty big-ass nail in their chances to legitimately win said election, given the world going up in flames all around us, and Kamala and Biden holding a can of gasoline and matches for everyone to see, seems to me as if they know they've got nothing left.

Nuzzi, in a bombshell court filing revealed Tuesday, alleged Lizza "explicitly threatened to make public personal information about me to destroy my life, career, and reputation -- a threat he has since carried out," CNN reported on Tuesday.

That alone is not blackmail. Blackmail is a threat to reveal information unless the target renders some money or takes some action he doesn't want to take.

You can threaten to reveal information all you like. It's not polite, but you're allowed to tell nasty (true) stories about someone, and you're allowed to threaten to reveal it. What the law forbids is the threat plus a demand for money or an action.

What would he have demanded of her? I'm not really sure what profit he could extract from her.

But she claims he wanted to... force her to come back to him?

That would be blackmail.

And pathetic! Ugh! Who the hell would want this whore back?

And to only have her back due to coercion!

Wow, what a prize to be won!

Nuzzi claimed Lizza started the harassment at the start of July to force her back into a relationship with him, and by the next month, he allegedly stole a personal electronic device and hacked her devices, according to the filing.

He also allegedly anonymously shopped information about her to the media, with some of that intel possibly "doctored," to hurt her, the filing states.

She must have Hunter Biden's lawyers -- she's suing him for "hacking" her devices, alleging he stole private information, but also, he made it all up so it wasn't really private information at all and you should just accept these two completely contradictory claims at the same time, thank you, drive through.

She accused him of potentially, "through a third party or anonymous channel," tipping off New York Magazine last month about what she only referred to as "the matter."

Well he's allowed to do that. It's better when adults keep each other's sexual secrets, but no one is required by law to keep them.

If you cheat on your fiance, you can expect him to take that poorly, and not share your interest in keeping your whorish behaviors on the DL.

Lizza told The Post earlier Tuesday that he is "saddened that my ex-fiancée would resort to making a series of false accusations against me as a way to divert attention from her own personal and professional failings."

A no-contact order was reportedly granted by a judge on Tuesday that orders Lizza to stay away from Nuzzi -- a common step in domestic disputes, CNN reported.

As a friend remarked: these people do nothing but pose and preen as "the elite" and the New Aristocracy but every damn one of them is gross white trash.

Puff Diddler Accused of Diddling 9-Year-Old Boy

Allegedly he spiked the boy's drink with horse tranquilizers before r*ping him.

He's Gay Cosby.

The guy is a billionaire and everyone smells blood in the water so a lot of these allegations may just be opportunistic fabrications to get a payout. The "120 new victims" are all being represented by a lawyer and presumably they intend to sue Diddler for damages.

So room for caution. We've seen a lot of false sex abuse allegations lately. We've seen so many that they're burned into our hippocampi.

But here are the nasty allegations:

In bombshell allegations, an additional 120 victims have come forward to accuse rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs of sex abuse over a span of 25 years, with several underage victims, including a 9-year-old, among them.

The claims where made by Texas lawyer Tony Buzbee who announced he's representing 120 new victims who he believes have legitimate cases against the rapper turned media mogul.

Of the 120 new victims, 25 were underage when the alleged abuse happened between 1991 and as recently as this year, Buzbee revealed.

The youngest victims were 9, 14, 15 when they were victimized, the high-profile lawyer announced at a press conference in Houston Tuesday.

'This individual, who was 9 years old at the time, was taken to an audition in New York City with Bad Boy Records,' the attorney disclosed.

'This individual was sexually abused allegedly by Sean Combs and several other people at the studio in the promise to both his parents and to him himself of getting a record deal.'

Some of these allegations are so rancid that it makes me skeptical: Could a group of people be this evil?

'Another minor told allegedly by Sean Combs that he would make him a star, but he needed to visit with him in private about it away from his parents. Once they were in private area, allegedly Mr. Combs made the victim perform oral sex upon him,' Buzbee said.

Thousands of calls with fresh accusations have flooded Buzbee's law firm since federal prosecutors announced a federal indictment against Diddy and arrested him last week.

'An individual, 15 years old at the time, flown to New York City to attend a party was drugged and then taken into a private room allegedly in the presence of Mr. Combs where this female individual-- minor-- was raped and then other individuals took turns raping her,' Buzbee detailed.

I guess this sort of thing does happen. It's so monstrous, though, I wonder if fabrication isn't the more likely possibility.

We should try to keep two conflicting ideas in mind: First, in the American tradition, a man is innocent until proven guilty.

Second, this here c*cks*cker is obviously guilty.

Disney-Owned ABC "News" Cuts 75 More Employees Because They're Doing So Well and the Public Loves Them

ABC News and its local stations group got hit with 75 job cuts Wednesday as part of an ongoing restructuring at parent company Disney.

ABC News president Almin Karmehmedovic broke the news to staffers in a memo obtained by The Post, telling them that the network has had to make some "tough decisions."

"Across the various ranks of ABC News, a limited number of our colleagues are being impacted by staff reductions," he said. "As you know this has been happening across the broader company and the industry at large in recent weeks and months."

The exec -- who was promoted to the role of president in August after serving as executive producer of top-ranked "World News Tonight with David Muir" -- said his task is "shaping a team that embraces the new media landscape" who "evolve along with it."

What It Means:

A source familiar with the situation confirmed that the layoffs impacted 75 jobs across ABC News and ABC's stations group, split about evenly.

The source added that no on air talent has been impacted at either division.

Of course. Can't fire the "stars."

Why This Is Hilarious:

ABC "News" has seen a 12% ratings drop since their leftwing himbo rigged the Trump debate.

The ABC News debate may have drawn some 67 million viewers, but the network has faced nothing but headaches since. "ABC News is spiraling at the moment because there has been so much negative feedback as a result of that debate," Megyn noted. "Fair-minded people know what they did and just how biased and one-sided it was."

In addition to the bombshell accusations of journalistic malfeasance from an alleged whistleblower, viewers seem to be voicing their frustration with their remotes. Muir's World News Tonight averaged 6.7 million viewers on the three days following the debate, which is about one million less than he had been averaging in the lead-up to the event.

While the program remains the number one evening newscast on broadcast television, the 12 percent ratings drop was higher than the more negligible declines CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News saw over the same period.

Allegation: Doug Emhoff Slapped His Girlfriend In Public for Flirting with Another Man

Wait, a woman dating Doug Emhoff flirted with another man?

That makes no sense. Doug Emhoff is a Super Alpha that men want to be and women want to be with. No woman would ever seek another man's company if she had The 'Hoff.

So this bullshit is obviously fake news.

A new report has surfaced alleging that Doug Emhoff, husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, slapped an ex-girlfriend at a gala in 2012 over claims of flirting with another man. Three unnamed sources have come forward with the accusation, citing the incident occurred during the Cannes Film Festival.

The alleged altercation reportedly took place in May 2012 after an event at the Cannes Film Festival, where Emhoff is said to have slapped his then-girlfriend, a New York attorney.

Three friends of the woman, known only as "Jane," claim she recounted the incident to them at different points, with one calling the friend sobbing right after it happened.

Jane's friends provided the Daily Mail with photos and documents they say support the story, though Jane herself declined to comment, reportedly fearing retaliation from Emhoff.

Wednesday Morning Rant

Everything is a Nail

"If your only tool is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail" is a popular idiom for obvious reasons. It defines the problem well in a manner that's fairly easy to visualize. Its usefulness is also distressingly common, as hammer-wielding policymakers, professors, commentators, economists, etc. continuously smash their hammers into non-nails and declare victory. Unlike Paul Anka, it isn't even amusing or memeable.

Of all the hammers out looking for nails whether they exist or not, there is probably none more common, loud and stupid than the hammer that is race. "Race" is a megahammer, slicing through the air at random. To the wielders of the race hammer, every problem is race and everything under the sun is a reflection of race. Highways? Race. Air conditioning? Race. Computers? Race. Pick a word and preface it with the word "racist" in your search engine of choice, and you'll find plenty of hits. It's the universal tool. Even natural disasters are racist.

Good Morning Kids. How fitting that on the 100th birthday of Jimmy Carter, Iran decided to celebrate by launching nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel. Were it not for the fact that Carter stabbed the Shah of Iran in the back by recognizing the kullahocracy of Ayatollah Khomeini that overthrew the country and precipitated the hostage crisis, along with installing the world's largest state sponsor and exporter of global terrorism.

In the event, there evidently was only one casualty. Turns out it was a "palestinian" killed by a piece of debris from an intercepted missile that fell on him. So far, there has been no military response from the Israelis but given the magnitude and nature of the attack, and that it obviously was in response to Israel's so far incredibly effective campaign aimed at dismantling Iran's proxy armies of Hezbollah and Hamas, Israel is going to have to respond. Despite the blather from Kalorama or the Oval Offie, and Foggy Bottom that the US is standing behind Israel in the wake of the missile barrage, I think the Iranians sense exactly the opposite and are itching to retaliate in a way that would force the Israelis to respond in a way that the current pro-Iran junta in DC would not approve. Remember, it's always the damned Jews that are at fault for "escalating" the cycle of violence. /sarc!!!

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Tuesday night by saying that they would pay dearly for their actions. Netanyahu’s words, delivered to the Israeli people in Hebrew, came after Iran fired approximately 180 ballistic missiles into Israel, most of which were shot down or landed in areas where they caused minimal damage.

“This evening, Iran made a big mistake – and it will pay for it,” he said. “The regime in Tehran does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and to exact a price from our enemies.”

Israel vowed that there would be a “significant response” to Iran and the U.S. said that Iran’s attack was result in “severe consequences” for the Islamic regime.

Meanwhile, as the missiles were raining down on Israel, this happened:

Two terrorists opened fire Tuesday evening on civilians along Jerusalem Boulevard in the city of Jaffa, south of Tel Aviv in an apparent terror attack, killing six and wounding several other people. . . Several people took shelter in a nearby Hasidic synagogue, according to Army Radio. Jerusalem Boulevard is one of the main thoroughfares in Jaffa, the oldest part of the Tel Aviv metro area. The city has a significant Arab population, and Jews live alongside Arabs in the area.

Of course, last night was the Vice-Presidential candidates debate and Tampon/Tiananmen Tim and the Democrats must feel like the "Palestinian" that got hit by falling flaming missile wreckage. Because that's what happened. Vance delivered a few body blows himself to Walz and the media but much of the damage was self-inflicted. Calling yourself a knucklehead on national television when you're trying to convince people to vote for you to my untrained eye seems like a suboptimal move. But what the hell do I know?

Gov. Tim Walz may not have been in Tiananmen Square, but tonight he got hit by a tank.

Walz lost on issues, to which the Harris-Walz campaign has a congenital allergy, he lost on style, defaulting to word salads about being a regular guy from a small town whenever a question (like lying about Tiananmen Square when he was befriending members of China’s Bureau of Foreign Affairs) made him uncomfortable, but he lost on television.

Kamala had gotten rid of one confused old white man only to replace him with another.

Not since the Kennedy vs. Nixon matchup has there been a candidate who performed so much worse when people could see his face. And Walz’s bugged-out eyes, quivering apple pie chin, and the profile of a decaying jack o’lantern lost the debate more eloquently than any words 

. . . Walz need not have really shown up. The talented moderating team of Margaret Brennan and Norah O’Donnell put in their late bid for the presidency and vice presidency by debating Vance more effectively than Walz had. It helped that they had control of the microphones. Brennan and O’Donnell, whose greatest previous taste of power had been yelling at CBS News interns for bringing them the wrong kind of coffee, joyfully smirked at the power to win a losing argument by announcing that Vance’s microphone had been cut off.

All things considered, Tim Walz probably was at Tiananmen Square. He was inside the tank, in the driver's seat when he stepped on the gas pedal and ran over the demonstrator!

In the days leading up to Tuesday’s debate, Democrats went out of their way to say they were nervous about how Gov. Tim Walz would perform.
It was an obvious effort to lower expectations in the hopes Walz would beat the gloomy forecasts and thus look like an upset winner.
They didn’t lower expectations far enough.
Walz had occasional moments of clarity, but he spent most of the night giving rambling answers that filled the allotted time without reaching a clear conclusion. The only thing he won was finishing first in the number of non-sequiturs.
Voters looking for a point where they could say “aha, that’s what the policy would be” had to be frustrated.

I know I was. . .

. . . His opponent, Republican Sen. JD Vance, was by far the smarter, more thoughtful and more organized thinker on the stage. His tone was pleasantly even, whether he was defending Donald Trump or attacking Kamala Harris.
Because VP debates are largely seen as referendums on the presidential nominees, Vance’s performance was a boost for Trump and the GOP ticket.
Walz, on the other hand, added to doubts about his readiness to serve, and thus was a minus for Harris.
The difference in temperament was so stark that Walz at times looked bug-eyed as he speed-talked his way through answers that often veered off course, as if his brain couldn’t keep up with his mouth.
“I’ve become friends with school shooters,” he said during an answer on school safety. “I’m a knucklehead at times” was his final weird answer to a question about why he falsely claimed to be in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square crackdown.
Vance, by contrast, was cool, deliberate and polite to a fault. He called the moderators by their first names,and began some answers by saying “I agree with Tim” or saying they had common ground, an obvious move to be the one creating a civil and substantive tone.
