I still can't wrap my head around the amount of Jew hatred that prevented the democrats from picking shapiro from PA. If she had picked him it would have locked up PA and pretty much let her coast to an EC victory.

Its tracking has steadily declined over the past few months.

2 months ago, before it's premiere at Venice, it was looking like a $130 million opening.

Now? $40-50 million.

Not bad, except the movie cost $200 million to make. The first one cost $90 million.

It'll probably end up in the black (international tracking is much better), but it's far from a great ROI for WB.

Also, it seems as though Phillips made the film so that there can't be direct sequels.

I'm still not sure about the Shapiro thing. I don't think he's popular in PA or effective. He stole his election. I'm not sure how many more votes he would bring to the table that weren't already locks for the putang whore.

But let's assume Shapiro would have brought some votes. I think those votes would have been offset by the loss of votes from the core leftwing insanities because a dastardly Jew is on the ticket. And not just in PA, but in Democrap must-win states like MI and WI. I don't think we can underestimate the level of vitriolic Jew-hate in the core Democrap constituencies.

127 Back from my doctor appointment. The metformin did not work for weight loss. Even though I got much more active, no weight loss. Doc has changed the med to.... Some other pill and recommended increasing my daily walk to forty minutes instead of thirty. I dont generally have blood pressure issues but need to monitor with the new med. He also said ditch the fruit, moderate the veggies and get plenty of protein. Said to keep sensible amount of fat in the diet. I mentioned that old thing about low fat diet and was not nice about it. He agreed completely and said it wouldn't be a problem for my cholesterol. Recheck in 2 months and if this doesn't work we may be have to go with Wegovy.
I really hope this helps.

This is how a $250 million movie needs to make nearly a billion to break even.

I think the strategy for Trump is that half the country finds him irredeemably repulsive. He found some very well speaking proxies to say what he wants and say it in much better words. I really hope you find something that works, too and it’s something you can live with while you re-learn how to eat and sustain the changes. I am a little surprised at the fruit comment, honestly, unless you have blood sugar issues. I hope you can avoid wegovy, too as I feel like this doesn’t do amazing things for heart muscles.

Would you consider going to a nutritionist? For me, I don’t like feeling hungry. I am not that person who forgets to eat. Knowing this, volume eating works for me, but I am also really mindful of macros and micros, which is just a fancy way of saying getting the right combo I of fats, fiber, proteins, etc. It was really eye opening when I food journaled for a week - I thought I was eating 1500 calories a day. Yeah, no I was not. But I put every morsel down (I call it bites, licks and tastes- they all count).

Part of me wants to come to your house and throw your scale out the window. 😀. Measurements are such a better indicator of progress and more motivating, as is getting stronger, meaning you walked farther, your did more crunches, you held a plank longer. The scale number matters, but that happens in tandem with the rest. The other thing to remember is defining what healthy and goal is to you- I am not skinny. I will never be skinny. I had to be okay with this, and that was probably harder than giving up refined sugar.

Pence was an effort to consolidate power within the GOP. It was offering an important post (sort of) to the other major faction of the party that he did not represent as a peace offering. It's typical stuff for VP picks going back to the founding of the Republic when it was focused on appealing to powerful state interests.

The Vance pick is telling the GOPe that they have no place in the GOP anymore. It's telling them to fuck off. It's telling them that for at least the next 4 years, whether Trump wins or not, they're not regaining power within the party itself.

The first was consolidation. The second is a power move.

I love to eat.. love it. What finally worked for me regarding weight and health was a two-pronged approach:

1. I really got into exercise; I love it now. Endorphins FTW
2. I found a lunch that I really enjoy eating (a big mission style burrito) and I eat it every day. It’s my only meal of the day but very satisfying. For dinner I have a snack like yogurt or some mixed nuts. Never breakfast…. I never feel deprived

Dieticians are great - especially with disease management or other comorbidities, their education is more intense. You have to find the right nutritionist / dietician, too. I am a nutritionist by education now, and my focus is on overall wellness, integrative with exercise for the average bear, not athletes. In the MW, those older white liberal voters are liberal church types, union voters (often retired), and government workers (retired and employed).

Their share of the electorate is fixed and slowly declining due to death, moving away to sunnier climes, etc. The Dems have to hold them plus gain a certain percentage of lesser inclined voters like the Muslims that when they turn up, the Dems can win, when they stay at home, the Dems lose.

MI, WI, even MN, have had GOP governors and GOP legislatures even recently. PA, despite leaning more blue, has had the same dynamic but a bit more blue tinged. That is due primarily not to the olds but the new voters (yutes and various minorities) flocking to the Dem side but their turnout is not guaranteed nor their vote at this time.

Base elections are essentially Maginot Line politics and liable to be outflanked by shrewd campaigns

The very nasty nature of legislative sausage making means the longer you are in place, the more compromised you become via the party base voting in primaries. The devious nature of legislative operations is to diffuse responsibility for unpleasant votes which makes it difficult to extract oneself from running for Prezzie if you have been in the legislative branch long enough.

Easier to run as governor or some other executive type.
