The Secret Service Agent Who Was Driving Trump on January 6th Wanted to Testify that Madison Cornbread Was Lying.
Liz Cheney Blocked His Testimony.

If you remember, Madison Cornbread -- who most media erroneously refer to as "Casey Hutchinson," which is surely a made-up name for a Millennial -- told a story which she claimed to have heard second-hand -- or third-hand, actually -- about Trump demanding his driver take him to the Capitol during the January 6th scrums. When the driver refused, Trump reached over from the back seats to violently wrench the wheel from his hands.

She said she heard "something to the effect of..." Trump grabbed the wheel and tried to drive the presidential SUV from the rear seats.

Now, obviously, an eyewitness who was actually present for this alleged incident would be a more compelling witness than this dingbat sorority whore who "heard something to the effect of [some nonsense that Chad heard from Brad who heard it from Muffy]."

All of Western law prizes eyewitness testimony over hearsay testimony -- hearsay testimony is not even allowed in court!

And all Western law has some variation of the "rule of best evidence" -- written statements trump oral ones, eyewitness statements trump hearsay, etc.

But grotesque toadhag Liz Cheney decided bar the eyewitness while courting the hearsay witness.

She rewrote blackletter law to Get Trump.

Stop me if you've heard this one before.

Just the News is reporting that the January 6th Committee rebuffed repeated efforts from a Secret Service agent to refute the false story related by Cassidy Hutchinson alleging a violent episode with Trump in the presidential limousine during the Capitol riots. The J6 Committee staff repeatedly delayed the testimony of the agent to disprove the widely reported allegation.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk, the chairman of the House subcommittee that is investigating the Jan. 6 riot, has obtained a transcript of the driver's interview that was conducted months after he first offered to testify. However, it turns out that committee staff were asked repeatedly by counsel for the agent to let him present evidence debunking the claim. Despite being reported by virtually every news outlet, the Committee slow walked his appearance as the story went viral.

The transcript of the driver's testimony contains express objections by the lawyer that his client had offered to testify in July, August and September of 2022, but was "rebuffed" by the committee.

The account reaffirms a major criticism of the committee. After Democrats refused to allow the GOP to pick its members (as a long-accepted practice in the House), the Democrats selected two anti-Trump Republicans who did little to push for a full and fair display of witnesses and facts. The Committee was chaired by Rep. Benny Thompson, a Democrat, with Rep. Liz Cheney, as Vice Chairwoman.

Cheney and the committee members clearly knew that Hutchinson's account was debunked by the very driver who allegedly struggled with Trump. Yet, they allowed the media to report the incident for months while rebuffing the requests of the driver. Loudermilk is quoted as saying "We're talking about the driver of the limousine, and the head of the entire protective detail. They were brought in by the select committee to testify, but they weren't brought in until November."

The false account was given by Hutchinson in June of that year.

The Secret Service driver testified Trump never tried to reach for or grab the wheel of the SUV.

Notably, the transcript shows Cheney trying to explain the delay as due to the need for the Secret Service to produce all documents in the January 6 investigation.

Yet, she had no problem with making the false story public through Hutchinson before such supporting material was supplied. She also did not suggest any countervailing testimony or witnesses on the issue as the media ran with the account. Instead, Cheney publicly teased the claim that they had much more evidence of crimes against Trump, which never materialized. Cheney ended one hearing by calling for more officials to come forward and noting that Trump family members and former officials have now come forward with their own public "confessions."

You might well wonder, if Madison Cornbread claims she heard "something to the effect of" Trump attempting to flip the SUV with a power-turn, why didn't they just ask the people who Madison Cornbread claims told her this?

The answer is simple: Because they deny it.

They had to call the hearsay witness because the hearsay she was claiming was denied by the very people she claim told her this.

But we protected Our Precious Normzzz, right?

Study: The Persistent Level of "Excess Deaths" Above Historical or Actuarial Norms Might Be Due to, Get This, the Covid "Vaccines"

Breaking news in the UK... but of course there's a media embargo in the US.

Wouldn't want to be caught spreading "disinformation" that the Regime has declared illegal!

excessdeathscovidvaccines.jpg

This is a weird headline -- they make it sound like excess deaths are a good thing, and they want to thank the covid vaccines for their "help."

Covid vaccines may have helped fuel rise in excess deaths

Even while they're reporting an ugly truth, they try to massage it to sound not so terrible for the corrupt, arrogant yet insanely-incompetent Regime.

Here's the archive.is link.

Covid vaccines could be partly to blame for the rise in excess deaths since the pandemic, scientists have suggested.

Researchers from The Netherlands analysed data from 47 Western countries and discovered there had been more than three million excess deaths since 2020, with the trend continuing despite the rollout of vaccines and containment measures.
They said the "unprecedented" figures "raised serious concerns" and called on governments to fully investigate the underlying causes, including possible vaccine harms.

In any other time in history, the medical establishment and governments that fund them would be doing lots and lots of studies and research if they saw three straight years of excess deaths -- especially when those three years followed the mandatory "vaccination" with entirely-untested gene therapy.

But now? Nothing. Just pretend it away.

Maybe it will go away on its own, once all the weaker people have died. Then the numbers will return to normal.

It is IMPERATIVE that we never admit error or even any doubts about our ex cathedra proclamations.

We can never let the Lower Orders know that we are all incompetent and only have our jobs due having the right politics and right parentage.

Writing in the BMJ Public Health, the authors from Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, said: "Although Covid-19 vaccines were provided to guard civilians from suffering morbidity and mortality by the Covid-19 virus, suspected adverse events have been documented as well.

"Both medical professionals and citizens have reported serious injuries and deaths following vaccination to various official databases in the Western World."

They added: "During the pandemic, it was emphasised by politicians and the media on a daily basis that every Covid-19 death mattered and every life deserved protection through containment measures and Covid-19 vaccines. In the aftermath of the pandemic, the same moral should apply."

Nah.

Not only did they kill millions of us with the Frankenvirus they cooked up in a lab -- then they killed millions more of us with the "cure" for the disease they created.

But not a single person has gone to prison.

Shiiiiit, not a single person has been fired. Not a single motherf***er has missed a single scheduled raise.

The study found that across Europe, the US and Australia there had been more than one million excess deaths in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, but also 1.2 million in 2021 and 800,000 and 2022 after measures were implemented.

Researchers said the figure included deaths from Covid-19, but also the "indirect effects of the health strategies to address the virus spread and infection".

They warned that side effects linked to the Covid vaccine had included ischaemic stroke, acute coronary syndrome and brain haemorrhage, cardiovascular diseases, coagulation, haemorrhages, gastrointestinal events and blood clotting.

The report is in the British Medical Journal.

"Conclusions: Excess mortality has remained high in the Western World for three consecutive years... This raises serious concerns. Government leaders and policymakers need to thoroughly investigate underlying causes of persistent excess mortality."https://t.co/Wr8hhJhXQI

-- Dr Zoe Harcombe, PhD (@zoeharcombe) June 4, 2024

Looks like we're in a three-year (and counting) "Season of Death."

excessmortality.jpg

Perhaps it wasn't the vaccines.

Perhaps it was the depression and lack of exercise and missed doctor's appointments and diagnoses brought on by two years of forced confinement.

Oh wait -- the fucking Regime ordered that as well, didn't they?

Oh-- and this medical malpractice murderess is back to ratchet up panic about the bird flu.

The Hill
@thehill

Deborah Birx, a physician and former President Trump's coronavirus response coordinator, says the U.S. is making the same mistakes with bird flu as COVID by not "testing to really see how many people have been exposed and got asymptomatically infected."

Back into your Bubbles, everyone! Back to Zoomcalls and jammies all day! Back to DoorDash and GrubHub and UberEats, forever!

We have another election to rig! We need another pretext for mail-in ballots with absolutely zero voter verification!

Thanks to David Strom for the alert, in this (paywalled) piece.

While Antifa Cop-Assailants Are Given "Time Served" And Released After Promising, a 75-Year-Old Grandmother in Failing Health is Given Two Years In Prison for Protesting Abortions

We need to have hearings on this, looking at the clear disparity in the sentences of right-wing protesters and leftwing terrorists.

When you hear that antifa terrorists have been sentenced to "time served" -- which you hear with almost every one of them -- that means that the few hours they spent in jail awaiting their hearing are marked down as their "sentence" and it's noted that they've "served" that "sentence" already, and are sent on their way.

If you spent five hours waiting to be called to a hearing where a leftwing judge sets you free, then those five hours are the "time" you're "sentenced" to serve, and lucky you, you just finished serving those hours.

Thank you, drive through, you can pick up your lasers and urine-filled bottles from the clerk.

The actual protesters go to prison, the serial terrorists walk free after being in jail for a couple of hours.

The Eighth Amendment of the United States Constitution states:

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Unless, it would seem, one is dealing with the U.S. District Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. On Friday, in what appears to be an egregious example of cruel and unusual punishment, the court sentenced Paulette Harlow of Kingston, Massachusetts, to two years in prison. Mrs. Harlow is 75 years old and in poor health, and in fact, her health issues are serious enough that the court allowed her to remain on house arrest during the proceedings so her husband could care for her.

No longer. The court is throwing her behind bars. Her crime? Protesting an abortion clinic.

A 75-year-old pro-life activist was sentenced to two years in prison by the US District Court for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. Paulette Harlow from Kingston, Massachusetts was one of ten individuals who were convicted as part of a "conspiracy" to block women from entering an abortion clinic in Washington, DC.

Harlow has been on house arrest since her conviction due to her ill health. Her husband pleaded for leniency but those pleas were ignored by the court. John Harlow said "I feel like Paulette is dying. In my heart, I think she's having a hard time staying alive." He is her caretaker and said that he would take care of her in prison if he could, LiveAction reported.

"We've tried to be good people," he said. "I love my wife dearly. She's made me go beyond what I'd otherwise have done" to help others. "We're throwing ourselves on the mercy of the court," he said.

The court would appear to be short on mercy at the moment.

...

Where are the two-year prison sentences for the people who are blocking streets, taking over college campuses, and invading public buildings in the latest leftist outrage du jour over the Israel-Hamas war? Where is the sentence for Raz Simone, who led the takeover of an entire section of the city of Seattle in 2020, setting himself up as a de facto warlord and ruler?

Wall Street Journal: Congressmen Anonymously Confess That Biden's Too Old For the Job

You don't say.

When President Biden met with congressional leaders in the West Wing in January to negotiate a Ukraine funding deal, he spoke so softly at times that some participants struggled to hear him, according to five people familiar with the meeting. He read from notes to make obvious points, paused for extended periods and sometimes closed his eyes for so long that some in the room wondered whether he had tuned out.

In a February one-on-one chat in the Oval Office with House Speaker Mike Johnson, the president said a recent policy change by his administration that jeopardizes some big energy projects was just a study, according to six people told at the time about what Johnson said had happened. Johnson worried the president's memory had slipped about the details of his own policy.

Last year, when Biden was negotiating with House Republicans to lift the debt ceiling, his demeanor and command of the details seemed to shift from one day to the next, according to then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and two others familiar with the talks. On some days, he had loose and spontaneous exchanges with Republicans, and on others he mumbled and appeared to rely on notes.

"I used to meet with him when he was vice president. I'd go to his house," McCarthy said in an interview. "He's not the same person."

The 81-year-old Biden is the oldest person to hold the presidency. His age and cognitive fitness have become major issues in his campaign for a second term, both in the minds of voters and in attacks on him by Republicans. The White House and top aides said he remains a sharp and vigorous leader.

Some who have worked with him, however, including Democrats and some who have known him back to his time as vice president, described a president who appears slower now, someone who has both good moments and bad ones.

For much of his career, Biden enjoyed a reputation on Capitol Hill for being a master negotiator of legislative deals, known for his detailed knowledge of issues and insights into the other side's motivations and needs--and for hitting his stride when the pressure was on.

LOL. As John Sexton remarked, the White House is claiming this whole story is a "partisan trick," but the article is actually filled brim to bottom with defensive claims about what an effective and forceful "president" Biden is.

I'm not going to quote much of that. But Sexton is right, for every bit of actual news they break about Democrats noting that Biden is frail and mentally impaired, they'll add a paragraph talking about how "forceful" Biden was in his (pre-written, rehearsed) public statement about Ukraine funding.

They also keep on questioning Trump's mental acuity, and push a "both sides" narrative on cognitive decline.

So they're attempting to spin for Biden.

But some truth slips through between the propaganda talking points.

Over the past year, though, with Republicans in control of the House, that reputation has diminished.

White House officials dismissed many of the accounts from those who have met with the president or been briefed on those meetings as motivated by partisan politics....

This article is based on interviews with more than 45 people over several months. The interviews were with Republicans and Democrats who either participated in meetings with Biden or were briefed on them contemporaneously, including administration officials and other Democrats who found no fault in the president's handling of the meetings. Most of those who said Biden performed poorly were Republicans, but some Democrats said that he showed his age in several of the exchanges.

The article points out that the White House knew Democrats were being interviewed for this story -- and told them to tell the WSJ that Biden was better than ever (just like his economy).

The White House kept close tabs on some of The Wall Street Journal's interviews with Democratic lawmakers. After the offices of several Democrats shared with the White House either a recording of an interview or details about what was asked, some of those lawmakers spoke to the Journal a second time and once again emphasized Biden's strengths.

"They just, you know, said that I should give you a call back," said Rep. Gregory Meeks, a New York Democrat, referring to the White House.

That shows real confidence on the White House's part about what Democrats are saying about Biden's dementia, eh?

Later in the article, they report:

Meeks, the New York Democrat, said he didn't come away from the meeting worried about Biden's acuity. "I found him to be the same Joe Biden that I've known since I came to Congress," said Meeks, who was elected in 1998.

They don't say that he said that after the White House called him to tell him to call back the WSJ and emphasize how totally not senile Biden is -- but I think we know for certain that this was the call-back statement.

This is good:

With Ukraine running out of munitions, the White House called together top lawmakers to discuss what it would take to get congressional funding, along with the scope of border-security changes demanded by Republicans. The president moved so slowly around the Cabinet Room to greet the nearly two dozen congressional leaders that it took about 10 minutes for the meeting to begin, some people who attended recalled.

Biden started the meeting reading from notes to make broad points about the need to give money to Ukraine, which struck several participants as odd given that the lawmakers present already generally agreed that more funds were needed. Some attendees had trouble hearing him.

Biden deferred so frequently to other lawmakers that much of the conversation didn't include him, some people who attended the meeting recalled. When questions came directly to him, he would turn to staffers, they said.

"You couldn't be there and not feel uncomfortable," said one person who attended. "I'll just say that."

Senator Risch took on the claims that when no one can see him, Biden is actually a "dynamo" of energy and force of personality:

"What you see on TV is what you get," said Sen. James E. Risch, an Idaho Republican, who attended the meeting but shared only his general impression of meetings with Biden. "These people who keep talking about what a dynamo he is behind closed doors--they need to get him out from behind closed doors, because I didn't see it."

In closely related news, 22-year-old trainers can't keep up with the Human Cyclone named Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

One defense offered for Biden is that sometimes he's more cogent than at other times.

This isn't a defense. This is the diagnosis of senility.

What do they always say about senile people? "You know, he has good days and bad days..."

The brain doesn't stop working completely until the very end. But people begin "sundowning" with greater frequency and about simpler and simpler things.

John Sexton has more quotes and more context about Biden's decline, including his dubious achievement of being the president who answers the fewest questions from the press.

From Andycanuck:

David Shafer
@DavidShafer

My name is David. This fall I will be voting for the candidate found mentally competent to stand trial.

One bonus: As you know, Merrick Garland won't turn over the audiotapes of this senile rapist because of the Dire Threat that someone will use the tapes to make a deep fake of Biden.

Of course, people are already making deep fakes.

Here's another one. CONTENT WARNING for the n-bomb and lots and lots of talk about illegal drugs. Don't watch at work!

Axios (Politico for Kidz): Propaganda Media Now Scrambling for Survival

Before getting to that, let me be a Lying Skank Jen Psaki and Circle Back to turmoil at the Washington Post. I've quoted some of this but some of this is new (unless you saw it on other websites, which you probably did).

As you know, the Washington Post employees are revolting. But the new news is that they're also rebelling.

When Washington Post publisher Will Lewis and new interim executive editor Matt Murray met with staff Monday, the newsroom was still coming to terms with the abrupt exit of Sally Buzbee, who had led the paper since May 2021.

"Everyone was pretty shocked with your email last night," one reporter said at the meeting, according to a source present. The reporter suggested that "the most cynical interpretation sort of feels like you chose two of your buddies to come in and help run the Post, and we now have four white men running three newsrooms," and expressed surprise at this development given Lewis's prior commitments to diversity.

Murray, who previously led The Wall Street Journal, will replace Buzbee as executive editor through the presidential election, at which point, Robert Winnett, a veteran of the UK's Telegraph Media Group, will take on the new role of editor. Murray will move over to a new division of the paper that Lewis referred to as its "third newsroom"--Opinions being the second--which will focus on "service and social media journalism" and run separately from the core news operation.

I mentioned that but I didn't have the quote -- so the Washington Post is taking all of its SJW/activist basketcases and labeling them "service and social media journalism" (the "service" being "servicing leftwing activism") and attempting to wall that off into an Animal House asylum.

The (giggle) reporters are complaining about trifling bullshit, like that they're finding out about this by email on a Sunday night. "That's not how a well-functioning newsroom operates," one sniffs. Well, a well-functioning newsroom also doesn't lose half of its readership in three years due to extreme and unembarrassed leftwing hackery.

Whenever bad employees are fired, they start complaining about how the firing was done. When Gail Simone -- a leftwing hack who got a job at DC comics by ginning up a feminist outrage mob against them-- blew off her editor for six months and refused to answer his many, many phone calls, he fired her by email.

She then activated her "army of cat-ladies" on Twitter and shrieked that she had been disrespected by being fired (by a man!) over email.

Well, asshole, you refused to answer any of his phone calls. How was he supposed to get the word to you?

So now we have unqualified SJWs #Triggered that there are going to be changes -- and firings, of course -- due to them losing the company $77 million in one year alone, and of course they are attempting to change the subject to the form of communication used.

BTW, the Post's management explained the reason for the Sunday night email -- media companies were getting ready to run their own scoop on the changes, and they were forced to send out a quickie email so that the employees wouldn't hear about it from other "news" outlets.

If they hadn't rushed out this quickie email, the SJWs would be complaining, "A well-functioning news room does not allow its employees to be blindsided by news about their own workplace from a competitor!"

This is a very low and callow mode of argumentation. People who are unacquainted with the concepts of accepting criticism and attempting to do better always immediately claim that the criticism is being offered out of bad faith and in an inappropriate form. They do this to change the subject from their failings to your failings in noting their failings.

The CEO said "it's not great" that the new leadership is white and "penisy," as Megyn Kelly mocked them, but vowed he'd do better in the future.

Once he gets done firing the DEI hires.

No, just kidding, they won't do that. Anything but that.

....

Later in the meeting, another reporter asked Lewis whether "any women or people of color were interviewed and seriously considered for either of these positions," a question that prompted applause. Lewis said there will be "significant opportunities" within the new organizational structure. Asked by another staffer about which people he met with, Lewis said, "It was an iterative, messy process, which I don't want to go into the details of."

At one point Lewis was asked whether he was intentionally bringing in people who come from a different culture than the Post.

Players on a team with a three-year losing record demand to know if the newly hired coaches come from a "different culture" than the last batch of losers.

"We are losing large amounts of money. Your audience has halved in recent years. People are not reading your stuff. I can't sugarcoat it anymore," Lewis said. "So I've had to take decisive, urgent action to set us on a different path, sourcing talent that I have worked with that are the best of the best."

I know I've quoted that before, but it's so wonderful.

He turned to that "third newsroom," the SJW Romper Room. He upset the Failures and Zeroes further by saying that even in that Safe Space, he's be seeking to staff it from outside the company.

In other words: Prepare your resumes and seek opportunities elsewhere.

He continued to take a blunt approach when asked about the "third newsroom," specifically how it would be staffed. "I'll be looking for people to put their hands up internally, but also sourcing talent externally," said Lewis. (Of the "third newsroom," Lewis said in Sunday's memo, "The aim is to give the millions of Americans--who feel traditional news is not for them but still want to be kept informed--compelling, exciting and accurate news where they are and in the style that they want.")

The SJW Failures continued insisting that dishonest activism must be part of "journalism" and screamed about being ghettoized in a non-news division.

Listen to this guy's answer. It's an energizing spa day for your boner.

"Don't we need our brilliant social journalists and service journalists as embedded in our core product to make sure that people are actually reading the thing that's out at the center of the mission of the Washington Post?" one staffer asked, to which Lewis replied, "You haven't done it. I've listened to the platitudes. Honestly, it's just not happening."

"So we're just going to give up on--"

"No, I want you to be inspired," Lewis said. "It's the most important thing: untapped audiences. If what I cause to happen is you all get it, great, but the game is up," he said. "I'm setting up a structure where I'm not going to be guessing."

"I've listened to the platitudes." "The game is up."

It's like my boner is at the Holistic Spa, and they just put two slices of cucumber on either side of my pecker-slot to reduce the "frown lines."

The SJW Failures who know they're on the short-list for rapid firings continued complaining that he was reaching outside of the failed newspaper and its activist shitlib "culture" for staff.

"The fact that Will Lewis keeps going to his network rather than plucking Washington Post leadership implies that he finds everyone lacking, and I think that's kind of the most disturbing thing," a second staffer told me.

He didn't "imply" he found the leadership lacking -- he straight up said it.

The reason he isn't relying on current "leadership" is that they are proven irredeemable failures.

More complaining by DEI hires who worry, rightly, that the CEO has all but announced they will be fired:

"I don't think [failed former Editor in Chief Sally Buzbee] deserved to go out this way," the first staffer told me, noting that in conversations with their colleagues, people >"don't feel good about the fact that the first female executive editor of The Washington Post got a one paragraph goodbye note at 8:30 p.m. on a Sunday, and that she's being replaced by more white men we don't know."

Hey everybody -- racism and sexism are bad, m'kay?

Axios comments on this and the woes of all the propaganda media.

Media scrambles for survival ahead of 2024

Newsrooms typically immersed in political coverage during a presidential election year are instead focused on saving their own businesses.

Why it matters: Major restructurings, layoffs and newsroom overhauls are unusual for America's biggest news companies just months ahead of a highly anticipated presidential race.

With business headwinds growing stronger, news leaders know they can't afford to push off changes any longer.

Subscription media growth has slowed as publishers struggle to replace customers who canceled their Trump-era subscriptions.

Zoom in: The Post is one of several major newsrooms trying to find new readers willing to pay for their journalism online before their traditional products die out.

1. CNN began testing a new strategy last month that asks readers to submit personal data, like their email addresses, if they want to continue reading a certain amount of daily articles for free.

It marks the company's most significant consumer-facing effort to begin re-establishing a direct-to-consumer relationship with readers after the fall of its subscription video app, CNN+, in 2022.

2. The Wall Street Journal, similarly, has undergone massive changes to its editorial structure under new editor Emma Tucker, including layoffs announced last week.

On Wednesday, the paper introduced a new, multimillion-dollar brand advertising campaign geared toward broadening the Journal's subscriber appeal to a wider set of business professionals, not just finance investors or C-suite executives.

3. ABC News President Kim Godwin, the first Black woman to lead a major broadcast news division, stepped down in May after staffers began to lose confidence in her leadership.

Disney executive Debra OConnell will lead the news division for the time being.

Disney executive, huh? That's a surefire recipe for success.

Update:

DEI and this biased reporting were sold as a way to bring in new clients. That is to say millennials and Gen Z people would buy the paper if the news were highly slanted in a specific direction.

Didn't work. Instead, the people who were actually buying the paper got pissed and canceled their subscriptions.

So, the new market they were chasing never materialized, and the act of chasing it destroyed the market they had.

-- El Mariachi Attorney

This is a really good point -- this must be what he meant by "I've heard the platitudes, it just isn't working." It sounds exactly like he's responding to the claim that a Phantom Audience will appear if they just go full DEI and SJW.

Below, Megyn Kelly and Dave Rubin make fun of the post as Kelly reads the VF article.

Merrick Garland: No, the DOJ Is Not Coordinating the Lawfare Against Trump, Despite Our #3 Official Joining Alvin Bragg's Office to Prosecute Trump.
And No, I Won't Provide You With Our Correspondence With Latitia James, Fani Willis, or Alvin Bragg.

Or Jack Smith, of course.

Garland was questioned about alleged DOJ interactions with state and local prosecutors, specifically Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and others involved in prosecuting Trump. "Mr. Attorney General, you've told us that it's a dangerous conspiracy theory to allege that the Department of Justice is communicating with these state and local prosecutions against Trump," Gaetz told Garland.

Gaetz pressed for the release of documents that would potentially reveal communications between the DOJ and Trump's prosecutors, telling Garland, "You can clear it all up for us right now. Will the Department of Justice provide to the committee all documents, all correspondence between the department and Alvin Bragg's office, Fani Willis' office and Letitia James' office?" Garland resisted, stating such requests would be processed in due course through official channels.

Republicans argued that this refusal to immediately provide transparency supported the notion of a coordinated attack on Trump. They cited various connections, such as former DOJ official Matthew Colangelo's transition to Bragg's team, as further evidence of partisan influence over what should be independent prosecutorial decisions.

Garland defended the integrity of his department, asserting that the DOJ operates free from political interference. However, this did little to assuage GOP concerns, who pointed to other perceived conflicts, such as small donations made by Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan to Biden's campaign, as undermining the credibility of the judicial proceedings against Trump.

ep. Matt Gaetz
@RepMattGaetz

BREAKING: Coordinated Lawfare Against President Trump EXPOSED!

AG Merrick Garland says it's a "dangerous conspiracy theory" to allege that the Department of Justice is communicating with state and local prosecutions against Trump.

But former senior DOJ official Matthew Colangelo was appointed Senior Counsel to District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office to "get Trump" -- as detailed in Mark Pomerantz's book!

Weird how these preening govf*gs are always claiming it's a "dangerous conspiracy theory" that "threatens the lives of law enforcement" when conservatives complain of genuine election interference by leftwing Deep Staters.

They're like twitter addicts -- "Oh no, there go Muh Mentions!"

Meanwhile, these same people promote every single "bad cop shoots an innocent black man" hoax.

Are they saying that that propaganda isn't dangerous? That telling black criminals over and over that they'd better shoot cops before they shoot them isn't resulting in cops being murdered on the streets?

Or are they just saying We don't care about cops getting killed, they don't vote for us?

Spoiler: It's the latter.

Wednesday Morning Rant

X Was Not an Instruction Manual

Whenever one of our elites comes up with some terrible "new" idea, it is often reminiscent of some dystopian nightmare from a writer's imagination. The parallels that are obvious to anyone who is not in the elite bubble lead to the increasingly-common refrain that the dystopian tale was meant to be cautionary and not an "instruction manual." The most common form I usually see involves Orwell - "1984 was not an instruction manual!"

"1984" is an obvious one because of the naked censorship and destruction of history (dictionaries redefine words, NARA puts trigger warnings on historical documents, etc.) alone, but it is by no means the only example. Pick any dystopian vision of the past and you will likely find contemporary parallels. It doesn't even have to be one of the towering cultural touchstone stories of a comparatively distant history, you can find them within the past fifteen years.

Good Morning Kids.

First of all, I want to thank everyone who has sent such beautiful messages of support and prayers as well as for hitting the tip jar. While I still have the energy to be here, I will. In some odd way, I think it helps keep me going.

So, Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants issued some sort of executive order that allegedly addresses the border crisis, which is something of his and really his handlers' own doing. That is, allowing millions of unvetted foreign third world peasants including hardened criminals and even terrorists to flood in completely unchecked and unvetted. In point of fact, all this EO does is authorize several thousand to come here and settle here every month . Since he was installed a little over three years ago we have upwards of 8 million unassimilated individuals draining whatever meager resources we have left and aiding and abetting in the fundamental dissolution of American society that Democrat leftist progressivism did not succeed in destroying for decades if not since the end of the 1860-1865 American civil war.

Since 2020 and even before, there has been much postulation about what a Civil War 2.0 might look like, insofar as coming to the realization that as a completely polarized society we simply cannot continue to co-exist because those on the other side of the divide do not recognize our legitimacy let alone our basic humanity. They cannot simply let us be because our continued existence and thriving would run counter to their ideological belief system and shibboleths about how the world works, which of course could never be allowed. It's a similar kind of pathology in the Islamic world vis a vis infidels and especially Jews. Islamic supremacism is built around such titanic lies and illusions. Islamic societies are retrograde failures on every level. The existence of Israel as a Jewish state, and one that has thrived for centuries, let alone its modern incarnation since 1948 flies in the face of their beliefs about who and what they are. It's not just Israel as a nation state but it's also the past wo millennia of Jewish and Christian history that had advanced humanity to such heights in every field of endeavor. Yes the pitfalls of the human condition and human nature notwithstanding. But the savagery and barbarism of Mohammedanism was and remains part and parcel of that. Islam merely coalesced that savagery under its aegis as a totalitarian movement to subjugate the world. And here it is continuing on its march to conquer the world.

As far as America is concerned, unless and until there is some sort of complete breakdown in the social order, we're not going to be rebuilding anything. The lack of trust in so many of our institutions while troubling is nevertheless a signpost that at some point change will or at least can happen. That the old order that holds the reins of power will not go quietly is a given.

We can never know the future. But for sure it rests with the children and keeping them the hell away from the indoctrinators and pied pipers of utopian socialism.

The Democrat/Chinese Communist Party propaganda sheet the Washington Post lost $77 million last year alone, and has seen its readership fall by 50%.

LivePDDave
@LivePDDave1

JUST IN: The Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post is staring down a catastrophic collapse, with Publisher and CEO William Lewis admitting a jaw-dropping 50% nosedive in readership and staggering financial losses that soared over $70 million in 2023 alone. Such dire straits serve as cold, hard proof of the self-inflicted wounds resulting from the newspaper's unapologetic stance as a propaganda outlet for Democrats.

Washington Post leftwing layabouts -- I mean, "staffers" -- complained of the actions being taken to make the paper turn a profit lose less money.

The new CEO told them he was done "sugarcoating" it for these pussies.

"We are losing large amounts of money," Lewis disclosed in a recent meeting with Washington Post staffers, pulling the curtain back on the extent of the damage. "Your audience has halved in recent years. People are not reading your stuff. I can't sugarcoat it anymore."

Determined to stop the bleeding, Lewis put forth a desperate restructuring of the newsroom into three divisions (reporting, opinion and service/social), hoping against hope to salvage what remains by somehow boosting reader engagement. But these are mere band-aids on the gaping wound inflicted by years of alienating a significant portion of the American populace through its editorial choices.

I read that they're attempting to wall off their most extremist leftwing propagandists into one section of the paper. I don't know if that's the opinion section or "service/social."

Why not just fire them?

Oh right, firing people who can't do their jobs competently is racist, sexist, transphobic, or Islamophobic, as needed.

This stark scenario underscores not merely a financial or readership crisis but a profound credibility crisis. The Washington Post, by doubling down on a path that many Americans perceive as rife with bias, has alienated itself from half the country. The current predicament isn't just a failure of adaptation to the digital media landscape; it's a stark manifestation of the consequences when a media institution loses sight of journalistic balance, tilting so far in one direction that it topples over.

Below, a "former president of Pro Publica" says the "worst signs" for the future of the WaPo is that the new CEO says "I" and "you" too much, and not enough "we."

If that sounds like gay communist touchy-feeley hibbity-jibbity to you, even leftwing media reporter Dylan Byers agrees. He thinks the "worst signs" are the parts about losing half of all readers and losing $77 million last year alone.

worstsignswapo.jpg

David Strom has more of the liberal shrieking at being held accountable for a persistent and remorseless record of failure at every level.

As I wrote yesterday, the Post has fired its editor Sally Buzbee and is hiring a new team to right the ship--if righting the ship is even possible. The publisher met with the newsroom and was quite blunt about why the former editor departed and announced the changes he was making.

"Reporters" didn't like the changes."

[Vanity Fair:]

Muh Diversity!

I don't care that the paper is gushing blood out of its neck, I just want to keep muh phoney-baloney DEI diversity "job"!

Later in the meeting, another reporter asked Lewis whether "any women or people of color were interviewed and seriously considered for either of these positions," a question that prompted applause.

Sally Buzbee, who ran the paper into the ground over the past three years, was just fired. Is the CEO job now guaranteed to be occupied by An Diversity forever?

More at the link, including Jonathan Turley's experience as a columnist at the paper as it went into full leftwing advocacy mode.

Biden: Israel may have committed war crimes, and Netanyahu is only continuing the war to retain power.

Biden says this as he adopts a pro-Hamas policy to keep Dearborn, Michigan voting for him.

Asked if Israeli forces have committed war crimes in Gaza, Biden says, "It's uncertain." From the start, the Administration knew Israel was pushing the limits of legal warfare, the Washington Post and others have reported. The conflict is driving a wedge between the U.S. and its allies. On May 31, Biden laid out a phased cease-fire plan that would end the war and secure the release of hostages. He has continued to pursue the complicated regional deal with Saudi Arabia. Some close to Biden say the only holdout to the broader pact is Netanyahu. The President declines to say as much, but when asked by TIME if Netanyahu is prolonging the war for his own political reasons, Biden admits, "There is every reason for people to draw that conclusion."

Democrats are planning to boycott the Netanyahu speech at the Capitol:

Matthew Foldi
@MatthewFoldi

I asked @SpeakerJohnson about Democrats boycotting @netanyahu's speech

"So be it," Johnson said. If Democrats want to side with terrorists, that's their prerogative.

"No Republicans will skip it," he says

Fauci Is Accused of Perjury (Again) As He Walks Back from His Previous Statements (and Claims He Never Made Those Statements)

This sociopathic dwarfish Dr. Mengele?

Lying?

I'll need more than your word for it. He IS science! He's on CANDLES!!

Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), is facing accusations of perjury following his recent congressional testimony before the House Select Subcommittee on the Origins of the COVID-19 Pandemic Monday. Fauci's statements during the hearing contradicted previous claims, leading to allegations of lying to Congress.

Key Details:

Fauci denied knowledge of NIH funding to EcoHealth Alliance and claimed ignorance of his senior advisor's actions.

That senior advisor is "Doctor" Morens, who bragged about breaking the law to avoid FOIA searches, such as deliberately misspelling keywords so that keyword searches would not find those emails, and said that Fauci only accepts possibly-incriminating emails on secret burner accounts, or by direct hand-to-hand delivery of a physical letter.

He refuted allegations of conducting official business via personal email or engaging in secret communications about COVID origins.

Accusations of perjury have been leveled against Fauci, with calls for his prosecution from Republican Members of Congress such as Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who told Fauci, "You belong in prison."

Diving Deeper:

During a heated hearing with the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, Fauci was grilled about the government's COVID-19 response. He denied having any knowledge of the NIH funding EcoHealth Alliance, a global pandemic prevention nonprofit, and claimed ignorance about his senior advisor, Dr. David Morens, deleting federal records to avoid FOIA requests. "I knew nothing of his actions in assisting Dr. [Peter] Daszak and EcoHealth Alliance," Fauci stated.

However, an uncovered email suggests that Fauci communicated with Daszak through a "back channel" at Boston University. This revelation has led to accusations of perjury, with molecular biologist Richard H. Ebright describing Fauci's testimony as a "parade of perjury." Ebright called for Fauci's prosecution, stating, "Perjury in almost every answer. Fauci needs to be referred for prosecution for perjury."

Fauci also faced questions about his role in suppressing the lab-leak theory during the hearing. Despite initial suspicions from several scientists about a lab leak in February 2020, these suspicions were quickly dismissed following a conference call with Fauci and NIH director Dr. Francis Collins. Fauci's testimony has been criticized as dishonest, with Francis Boyle, a professor of international law at the University of Illinois, stating, "Fauci has already lied and perjured himself before Congress. He should have been prosecuted already."

Fauci claimed "the unvaccinated" are responsible for 200,000 to 300,000 deaths.

Dr. Anthony Fauci on Monday claimed during testimony before the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic that unvaccinated individuals are "probably responsible" for hundreds of thousands of deaths.

The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases made the remark in response to Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia of California asking whether he believes the public should listen to the best and brightest in the medical community or "podcasters, conspiracy theorists, and unhinged Facebook memes."

Fauci said taking the latter's advice will deprive people of "lifesaving interventions, which has happened."

He then pointed to studies, including one analysis by Dr. Peter Hotez, that shows "people who refuse to get vaccinated for any of a variety of reasons, [are] probably responsible for an additional 200,000--300,000 deaths in this country."

While Fauci blames "the unvaccinated" for murdering 200,000 to 300,000, he says that you can't accuse him of killing millions, because then he gets death threats and we must do everything we can to avoid blaming people for deaths.

Except, you know, for the scientists who opposed the shutdowns, who he organized a smear against, calling them racists and conspiracy theorists who wanted to kill people.

Here's Axios -- Politico for people who are too stupid to even read Politico.

Anthony Fauci said death threats spike against him when conservatives publicly criticize his COVID pandemic response -- singling out Fox News and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), with whom he clashed during testimony on Capitol Hill Monday.

Why it matters: The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and chief medical adviser to President Biden appeared emotional as he told a Republican-led House panel that the repeated threats he and his family have faced since the pandemic began were "very troublesome."

During his testimony, Greene repeatedly berated Fauci and refused to address him with the honorific "doctor," instead referring to him as "Mr. Fauci." "You're not doctor," she said. "You're Mr. Fauci in my few minutes."

What they're saying: CNN's Kaitlan Collins asked Fauci later Monday if he'd ever thought that he would still be getting credible threats against his life, two years out of government service. "It's a pattern, Kaitlan," Fauci replied.

"Whenever somebody gets up -- whether it's a news media, you know Fox News does it a lot, or it's somebody in the Congress who gets up and makes a public statement that I'm responsible for the deaths of X number of people because of policies or some crazy idea that I created the virus -- immediately, it's like clockwork, the death threats go way up." he added.

"So, that's the reason why I'm still getting death threats, when you have performances like that unusual performance by Marjorie Taylor Greene in today's hearing, those are the kind of things that drive up the death threats because there are a segment of the population out there that believe that kind of nonsense."

-- Excerpt from Anthony Fauci's CNN interview

Representatives for Fox News and Greene did not immediately respond to Axios' request for comment.

Zoom in: During his testimony, Fauci said in response to a question from Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) that he has experienced "everything from harassment by emails, texts, letters of myself, my wife, my three daughters."

He added, "There have been credible death threats, leading to the arrests of two individuals," he said. "And credible death threats means someone who was clearly on their way to kill me."

Fauci said he relies on protective services and still regularly receives death threats.
He turned off his microphone, appearing emotional, before adding that he feels "terrible."

You do know that leftwingers repeatedly called for the deaths of the unvaccinated, the same people you falsely blame for the murders you committed, right?

A Congressman who is also a medical doctor played back audiotape of a Fauci interview in which he championed making life "hard" for people unless they got vaccinated, and said that when you make people's lives "hard," they'll drop their "ideological bullshit" against mandatory vaccinations. "Are all questions about mandatory vaccinations 'ideological bullshit,' Dr. Fauci?" the congressman asks.

Fauci, of course, claims he didn't mean what he is heard on tape saying. Whenever you catch this psychopath lying, he gaslights you and claims you're "twisting the truth" and of course "attacking the science."

Later in the tape, he stands behind every single bit of bullshit he championed as "science" (to stop "the tsunami of deaths"), including "mask mandates for children under five." He admits there was no evidence and "no study" supporting that, but stands behind it anyway. (Fat-assed incompetent union teachers demanded it as part of their extortion campaign against the citizens of the United States of America.)

Fauci also denied recommending the shutdown of schools and the economy, claiming that was a CDC recommendation which he never endorsed. Skip to 10:00 in the video to see, get this, Fauci repeatedly advocating a country-wide shut down on all of his fans' and fellators' media shows.

An Afghan Immigrant Went on a Stabbing Spree.
The Propaganda Media Reported That the Criminal Was an Anti-Immigrant Far Right Extremist.

This is the impression that their carefully-crafted headlines were written to suggest.

Obviously, they wanted to hide the fact that yet more people were killed by Sudden Jihad Syndrome.

But to blame the crimes on the victims?

This is a new media low.

Mayhem was unleashed in Mannheim, Germany, on Friday, with a knife-wielding man stabbing several people. One police officer was struck in the head and neck multiple times and perished from his wounds.

Video of the incident has gone viral, showing officers tackling innocent bystanders multiple times, allowing the attacker to stab more people. One of those was the officer who ultimately died. I won't embed the video, but if you really want to watch it for yourself, you can find it here.

You can find that link in the Bonchie article I linked. I'll pass on seeing yet another innocent person butchered by a Muslim extremist.

I think we've all seen enough Muslim murders, haven't we?

The way things played out was then mimicked by the press in an incredible campaign of deception. Can you figure out who the attacker was based on the headlines below? And who do they obviously want you to think it was? That's going to become highly relevant in just a moment.

Biden Signs "Tough" Immigration Order That Will Lock In 1,750,000 Illegal Aliens Per Year, Minimum

The Permanent (?) Invasion.

President Biden has signed an executive order that supposedly shuts down the US-Mexico border, but critics argue the move only cements his ongoing border invasion, as it still allows for up to 1.75 million new illegal entries into America every year.

The executive order is expected to take effect immediately upon signing and will lift border restrictions two weeks after the number of illegal crossings averages 1,500 for seven days straight.

Even if illegal migration is limited to 2,500 per day for a full calendar year, the number of crossings would hit 912,500 -- a historic high compared to the rest of the century.

Trump slammed the move as "weak" and "pathetic," saying in a social media video: "Joe Biden is pretending to finally do something about the border. But in fact, it's all about show because he knows we have a debate coming up in three weeks. The truth is that Joe Biden's executive order won't stop the invasion."

The Biden administration's new executive order has been met with criticism, with many arguing that it does not effectively address the ongoing border crisis. Even if illegal migration is limited to the proposed 2,500 per day, the number of crossings would still reach a historic high of 912,500 in a year. This figure does not account for the additional 400,000 migrants that Biden has allowed into the country through a mass parole scheme for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans.

John Sexton calls Biden "delusional" in his interview with the very friendly media of Time Magazine. He once again shows he's an Elderly Man with a Poor Memory in falsely claiming, without evidence (as Jake Tapper would say), that American wage growth has exceeded the pace of inflation, which even Time fact-checks him on.

But let's look at his lies/delusions about immigration:

[Time:] Okay, I'm gonna do a couple of rapid fire here. Another of your first acts as President under the banner of value-based leadership was to lift various punitive Trump-era immigration measures, Mr. President, that you and others said were inhumane. In retrospect, do you think those humanitarian moves helped drive record illegal border crossing?

Biden: No.

Were you wrong to lift any of those measures?

Biden: If I was wrong, it's because I took too long.

Sexton writes:

There's really no doubt about what actually happened here. Biden lifted or reversed all of Trump's efforts at Border control and immediately the number of migrants at the border shot up and have remained extremely high until we hit an all time record in December of 2023. The bottom line is that Biden is clearly responsible for what happened. In fact, Biden himself predicted it could happen before he even came into office. The Washington Post published an excellent story about how this happened back in April 2021:

Biden seemed eager to temper expectations when he laid out his immigration policy plans a month before inauguration. His administration wanted to ensure "guardrails" were in place, he said, to avoid having "2 million people on our border."

"It's not going to be able to be done on Day 1, lift every restriction that exists," he said, "and find out that and go back to what it was 20 years ago and all of a sudden find out we have a crisis on our hands that complicates what we're trying to do."...

But that's exactly what he did, of course:

The prudent tone Biden's team sounded in December was harder to detect on Inauguration Day, as the guardrails started coming off. Biden issued more executive orders and actions on immigration than any other topic, including a 100-day deportation moratorium and a halt to border wall construction...

Word soon spread that families with children younger than 7 years old were being allowed to enter the United States and released from custody. Families fitting that profile began rushing to that span of the border, where U.S. agents were already overwhelmed by soaring numbers of teens and children arriving alone...

More migrant families were arriving, too, and with Mexico only taking back a limited number, the Biden administration released more and more parents with children into border towns and cities. Biden officials continued to insist they were expelling the majority of the families crossing the border. It wasn't true; statistics show fewer than half were being sent back.

"Comically Rigged" Hunter Biden Jury Features a... Family Friend of the Bidens and a Former Secret Service Employee and Jurors Who Say Drug Addicts Should be Allowed to Buy Guns

PLUS: We now know why Joe Biden made his secret trip to visit Beau's former wife and Hunter's former slam-piece Hallie Biden.

But first:

They want a revolution.

The jury is also stocked with alcoholics and addicts who will presumably sympathize with the cockhead.

And one juror said that marijuana should be legal and furthermore, you should be allowed to buy a gun if you're a drug addict.

Hunter Biden is on trial for lying on his gun form when he claimed he was not a drug addict.

The jury for Hunter Biden's federal weapons charges trial has been seated after seven hours of deliberation. Among the jurors is an acquaintance of President Biden, raising questions about the impartiality of the trial.

Key Details:

The jury consists of six men and six women, seven of whom are African American.

Oh so it's got plenty of Representation. It looks just like America!

America is 60% black, right?

Over 250 Delaware residents were summoned for jury selection, with more than 60 questioned individually.

One of the jurors admitted to being an acquaintance of the First Lady and having met Joe Biden at several events.

Diving Deeper:

This revelation has raised questions about the impartiality of the trial, with critics arguing that the jury selection process was "comically rigged." However, the juror in question was allowed to remain on the jury after insisting that he could be fair and impartial.

Wall Street Journal: Unexpectedly. the Economy Is Grinding to a Halt

Best economy in history, Jack! My word as a Biden. Also I was appointed to Annapolis but blew it off because I was a Big Football Hero but Annapolis already had Roger Staubach as a quarterback so I went to the University of Delaware and rode the bench, Jack!

David Strom is one of those lucky people who has a subscription to the WSJ, so I'll quote his quote.

The economy is slowing, real income is declining, and inflation is still well above the Fed's target of 2%.

The U.S. economy continues to lose momentum. Growth hasn't yet slowed to the point that it would be a concern to policymakers, but it might soon if current trends continue.

Investors' attention on Friday was initially focused on the personal-consumption expenditures price index, part of a package of data released by the Commerce Department. That makes sense since it is the Federal Reserve's preferred measure of inflation and will help them decide whether or not to cut rates before November's U.S. presidential election. But accompanying data on underlying economic activity turned out to be more significant.

The PCE price index rose 2.7% from a year earlier in April, in line with economists' expectations and unchanged from the prior month. The core PCE price index that strips out food and energy, which the Fed favors, was up 2.8%, a tad more than expected.

More noteworthy were the figures for personal income and consumption. Incomes rose 0.3% from the preceding month, in line with expectations and down from 0.5% growth in March. Personal spending rose just 0.2%, below expectations and slowing from 0.7% in March. In real, inflation-adjusted terms consumption and disposable incomes both fell 0.1%.

So income and disposable income actually fell. Got it.

An important measure of regional economic health fell:

Also on Friday, the Chicago Business Barometer, also known as the Chicago purchasing managers index and a gauge of economic activity in the region, fell to 35.4 in May from 37.9 in April. The importance of regional PMIs shouldn't be exaggerated, but this one seemed more noteworthy than most. It was at its lowest since May 2020, during the lockdown period of the pandemic, according to FactSet.

All those readings came on the heels of a downward revision in first-quarter gross domestic product growth on Thursday, to an annualized 1.3% from an earlier estimate of 1.6%. It was mainly driven by a declining estimate of consumption, again suggesting a flagging consumer. In a note, economists at Capital Economics said they are now expecting growth of just 1.2% in the second quarter, down from an estimate of 2.7% a couple of weeks ago.

I know all of you know this, but in case you don't: One of the Fed's biggest tools for influencing the economy is raising or lowering interest rates.

When the economy is slow or tipping into a recession, they lower interest rates. This allows the big banks to borrow money at low rates, which they then lend to companies at low rates. The net effect is to magic more dollars into the economy. This is inflationary, of course, but they think that goosing the economy with more dollars is better than a deep recession.

When there is too much inflation -- too many of these magicked-into-existence dollars floating around -- they raise interest rates. So the big banks borrow less money and have less money to lend out. The money supply drops, which will, over time, reduce inflation, because inflation is caused by a surplus of dollars which cheapens the value of each dollar.

The Fed is currently keeping interest rates at an elevated level to try to sop up some of the excess dollars that have caused 20% inflation over the past three years.

So what does the Fed do when economic activity is grinding to a painful halt? They usually reduce interest rates.

But they can't reduce interest rates, because inflation is already very high.

Biden should be proud. 1970's style stagflation -- which is inflation plus low growth -- is back, baby!

The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

Bob Menendez is a crook, and has been one for the entirety of his sleazy career. And since his NJ political career was in Hudson county, which is as crooked as it gets, calling him sleazy really means something! He double-dipped for years as a mayor and a state representative, no doubt shaking down every business that wanted a taste of the lucrative city and state contracts.

It's pretty clear that he has sold his influence even as a United States Senator (I know...you are shocked). But he was a reliable Democrat vote, so nobody cared. But then he overstepped, and actually supported something that was a good idea...keeping Iran from building nuclear weapons.

And so he had to go. Nobody goes against Barack Obama's chums in Tehran!

But good old crooked Bob is fighting back! And really, is there anything better than blue-on-blue fighting?

Bob Menendez to launch bid for New Jersey Senate seat during federal trial

Sadly, the New Jersey Republican apparatus is a pathetic blob of quivering jello, trying to carve off a tiny little bit of graft and a few votes while not rocking the boat too much. So I doubt the votes that Menendez might get if he survives to the general election in November will mean much, but it is an indication of the sudden weakness of the Democrat party that they cannot control one of their own.

I am sure that Crooked Bob is running only to continue to represent the good people of New Jersey, and there are no ulterior motives, except perhaps....

His campaign raised just over $1,200 in the first fundraising quarter of this year, according to federal election records. But running again means Menendez can continue raising funds and using them for legal expenses. He had more than $5.67 million cash on hand at the end of March.

Another shocker! Aren't our campaign finance laws grand!

It is undoubtedly a pipe dream, but it certainly would be nice if Menendez was able to draw enough votes from the heir apparent to the senate sinecure -- Andy Kim -- and allow the Republican (whoever that may be) to win in November. Kim is a machine politician without an ounce of original thought, and as far as I can tell he has never worked in the private sector, so we will undoubtedly be getting another cog in the vast Deep StateTM machine.

Oh goody!
