Merrick Garland: No, the DOJ Is Not Coordinating the Lawfare Against Trump, Despite Our #3 Official Joining Alvin Bragg's Office to Prosecute Trump.
And No, I Won't Provide You With Our Correspondence With Latitia James, Fani Willis, or Alvin Bragg.

Or Jack Smith, of course.

Garland was questioned about alleged DOJ interactions with state and local prosecutors, specifically Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and others involved in prosecuting Trump. "Mr. Attorney General, you've told us that it's a dangerous conspiracy theory to allege that the Department of Justice is communicating with these state and local prosecutions against Trump," Gaetz told Garland.

Gaetz pressed for the release of documents that would potentially reveal communications between the DOJ and Trump's prosecutors, telling Garland, "You can clear it all up for us right now. Will the Department of Justice provide to the committee all documents, all correspondence between the department and Alvin Bragg's office, Fani Willis' office and Letitia James' office?" Garland resisted, stating such requests would be processed in due course through official channels.

Republicans argued that this refusal to immediately provide transparency supported the notion of a coordinated attack on Trump. They cited various connections, such as former DOJ official Matthew Colangelo's transition to Bragg's team, as further evidence of partisan influence over what should be independent prosecutorial decisions.

Garland defended the integrity of his department, asserting that the DOJ operates free from political interference. However, this did little to assuage GOP concerns, who pointed to other perceived conflicts, such as small donations made by Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan to Biden's campaign, as undermining the credibility of the judicial proceedings against Trump.

ep. Matt Gaetz
@RepMattGaetz

BREAKING: Coordinated Lawfare Against President Trump EXPOSED!

AG Merrick Garland says it's a "dangerous conspiracy theory" to allege that the Department of Justice is communicating with state and local prosecutions against Trump.

But former senior DOJ official Matthew Colangelo was appointed Senior Counsel to District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office to "get Trump" -- as detailed in Mark Pomerantz's book!

Weird how these preening govf*gs are always claiming it's a "dangerous conspiracy theory" that "threatens the lives of law enforcement" when conservatives complain of genuine election interference by leftwing Deep Staters.

They're like twitter addicts -- "Oh no, there go Muh Mentions!"

Meanwhile, these same people promote every single "bad cop shoots an innocent black man" hoax.

Are they saying that that propaganda isn't dangerous? That telling black criminals over and over that they'd better shoot cops before they shoot them isn't resulting in cops being murdered on the streets?

Or are they just saying We don't care about cops getting killed, they don't vote for us?

Spoiler: It's the latter.

Garland should have walked in the room and served Jordan with the subpoena he has refused. And loudly announced "you are served!"

good to call it out. Puts Jordan on the defense, blows a hole in his pose of righteous indignation, and reminds everyone present of who and what Jordan really is. I give Swalwell my full approval!

Simply put, when you have a fifty fifty or really more like 30-70 world, it does not behoove oneself to act the asshole when trying to oppress about half the population. Sooner or later, history has shown, assholes often get their comeuppance from enraged common folk or are suddenly gotten rid of with prejudice by the very regime that put them in office.

150 103 Alvin Bragg Wants Trump To Stay Under Gag Order Even After Conviction

-

Gag orders are generally to try to make sure the defendant receives a fair trial without people being convinced of guilt, right?
Posted by: Moron Robbie
========
Yes they are but Bragg is being a bit stupid for pushing it because that takes it to the appellate courts or even Fed court on First Amendment grounds. The government interest in a fair trial is over once the jury issues a verdict and there is no becuz Trump exception to the 1st Amendment.

I don't think the Lawfare crew really has thought this through because they keep doubling down on their lawfare project when a large number of the people of the country are increasingly getting pissed off.

Operating in the shadows and in pet jurisdictions allowed them too much hubris and eventually hubris always meets its nemesis.

193 This is part of an excerpt from Tides of War. It sums of the Left and Right for me.

Spartans are courageous but not bold. Athenians are bold but not courageous.

Boldness is impatient. Courage is long-suffering. Boldness cannot endure hardship or delay; it is ravenous, it must feed on victory or it dies. Boldness makes its seat upon the air; it is gossamer and phantom. Courage plants its feet upon the earth and draws its strength from God’s holy fundament.

The bold man is prideful, brazen, ambitious. The brave man calm, God-fearing, steady. The bold man seeks to divide; he wants his own and will shoulder his brother aside to loot it. The brave man unites. He succors his fellow, knowing that what belongs to the commonwealth belongs to him as well. The bold man covets; he sues his neighbor in the law court, he intrigues, he dissembles. The brave man is content with his lot; he respects that portion the gods have granted and husband it, comporting himself with humility as heaven’s steward.

In troubled times the bold man flails about in effeminate anguish, seeking to draw his neighbors into his misfortune, ........

Yes, unusual but not beyond a president's power as all DA's and Federal Marshals in a federal court district are directly nominated by the Prezzie and confirmed by the Senate. The normal process though was to keep the previous party's DAs in office until the new administration got around to appointing and confirming replacements.

If there is to be a reckoning on the legal front, it will come from bypassing the DC DOJ and FBI and using district attorneys and marshals to go after the purulent DC law establishment.

The Louisiana Supreme Court last month cleared a path for the creation of a new city, St. George...take almost 100,000 residents away from East Baton Rouge Parish, and critics say it will deplete the parish of the resources from this wealthier, whiter community.

As researchers on racial equity, we have been studying moves like this to create new cities. What we’ve found is that these secessions perpetuate modern-day segregation and limit opportunity for left-behind communities, a form of opportunity hoarding that we call “white fortressing.”

These fuckers spend every second figuring out how to hurt people! Louisiana is reinstating segregation. It is fucking sickening.

no doubt they will import their labor work force. I've seen it before in wealthy or upperclass enclaves. There was residency and there was labor ..... and the topic somehow reminds me of, say, Johannesburg in South Africa during apartheid.

And even after the transcript was released and matched exactly to the audio....
They still impeached him.

The only problem with this analysis is that the GOPe has been doing this since 2018 in an effort to weaken the Republican Party and therefore weaken Trump.

This led to a GOPe so weak within the House that they lost the Speakership in the middle of a Congress (they've since worked it back by subverted Johnson, but that's another, separate problem).

The GOPe is significantly weaker in Congress now that it was in 2016, and it's entirely their own doing.

Democrats are leaving Republicans behind in terms of graft and the flexing of power.

Sure, Mitch and co are getting their slice of the Ukraine pie, but you think Garland is giving Mitch much special consideration? Wow. How does she not have back problems?

She will. There's a reason breast reduction surgery is such a big thing now. I know a Chinese girl with boobs as big as any Mannix busty babe. Great in her 20s and she certainly enjoyed the male gaze and all the perks that came with it. Now in her 30s, though, the size and extra weight are taking their toll. There's a reduction surgery in her future.

368 You have to-if you're not a leftist laugh at these titles for bills-"Right to contraception" Is there a burly, frowning guy standing in front of the "family planning section" forbidding you from buying stuff?. If you need something from the pharmacist will a Superhero RC woman wearing a Miraculous Medal leap over the counter and snatch it from the pharmacy aides hand? It's like people saying Blacks can't get ID, So stupid..

369 At this point it painfully obvious that this is all just a big game. Nothing will ever happen to anyone involved and more importantly, it will never stop. It's in the open now for everyone to see and frankly half of the country thinks what is going on is OJ.

Trump is going to win in November and the madness will not stop, it will ramp up.

But Trump is going to win in NJ.

Just promise free stuff, in Newark, Irvington, South Orange, Camden. Trump will win in a landslide. As Rush always said, you can't compete with Santa Claus.

372 O Chem and P Chem were the end of my science ambitions in college. Simply lacked the ability in O Chem to rotate mental images of molecules and I was a total klutz in labs. I probably discovered every single way to mangle O Chem lab results using the little microchem test kits.

Oh, that brings back memories - creating esters through fractional distillation, the way everybody screwed up using the melting point gauge, those plackets of plastic spheres and rods to help picture molecular arrangements, students becoming tearful...the list could go on and on.

Probably the best summing-up is an introductory note in the textbook that stressed the importance of being able to "read" the rotations and bonds and concluded with "It may be difficult at first, but keep trying and you may be able to understand it."

373 This drives me insane.... someone has to be prepared when you go on the idiot morning shoes (for example Stephonopolis or however you spell that hacks name).. and they say "There is no evidence of that"... there absolutely is.

The meetings are evidence, leaving your job to take a pay cut to work on a Trump case is evidence. Now a hack like George might come to a different conclusion, but there is clearly evidence, and certainly enough there for someone to start a more in depth investigation.
