Supreme Court Refuses to Stay a Lower Court's Blocking of Its Lawless, Unconstitutional Seizing of Taxpayer Funds to Pay the Student Loans of Democrat Deadbeats

The Biden-Harris Administration (I'm trying to tether Harris to the Administration in which she serves as VP! Aaah! Republican disinformation!) was previously rebuffed on this unconstitutional assertion of Executive Robbery. Biden-Harris asked them to pretty please reconsider and let them seize funds without Congressional authorization.

The Supreme Court declined on Wednesday to lift a sweeping block on President Joe Biden's student loan repayment plan that aims to slash monthly payments and quicken the path to loan forgiveness.

The high court turned down a request from the Biden administration to put the plan back in play after lower courts blocked it this summer in a legal challenge to the plan brought by GOP-led states.

There were no noted dissents in the brief order.

Wednesday's order has no immediate impact on the 8 million borrowers currently enrolled in the plan, known as SAVE (Saving on a Valuable Education), which was implemented nearly a year ago. In response to the deepening legal fight over the plan, the Department of Education last month placed the borrowers in an interest-free forbearance during which they are not required to make monthly student loan payments.

The White House, Department of Justice and Department of Education did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The latest information for borrowers can be found on the agency's website.

In an unusual line in a brief order Wednesday, the court said that it "expects" that the 8th US Circuit Court of Appeals, which is considering the challenge to the plan, "will render its decision with appropriate dispatch" -- signaling that it wants the legal proceedings to play out in the lower court before it steps in on its emergency docket.

The fate of the plan, which the Congressional Budget Office estimates would cost $276 billion, remains uncertain as courts consider two legal challenges. Last month, Alaska, South Carolina and Texas asked the high court to maintain a partial block on the program while the states' larger legal challenge to it unfolds. In a separate order Wednesday, the court also declined that request.

Student loan forgiveness was a key component of Biden's 2020 presidential campaign, a concession to progressives who supported more liberal candidates in the Democratic primary. But the White House has repeatedly been stymied, including with an important ruling last year in which the court's 6-3 conservative majority held that Biden had exceeded his authority by attempting to forgive hundreds of billions of student debt.

Second Circuit Court of Appeals Reinstates Sarah Palin's Defamation Lawsuit Against the New York Times, Reversing the Improper Verdict Engineered By the Lower Hawaiian Judge

Sarah Palin sued the New York Times for claiming that her "target" map spurred the shooting of Gabbie Giffords. She did not sue for the first time they falsely claimed that, back in 2011.

She sued when the New York Times again reasserted this lie in 2017, even after the New York Times had previously retracted the false claim.

As many pointed out: The New York Times doesn't even trust the New York Times' reportage.

"The Nation's Paper of Record," indeed! The New York Times isn't even the Paper of Record at the New York Times.

For a public figure to sue for defamation, he must establish "actual malice" -- the defamatory claim must not only be false, but the defaming party must have known it was false, or was in willful disregard whether it was true or false.

In this case, the New York Times itself previously reported their false claim was, in fact, false. Thus, the New York Times as an institution certainly knew it was false, and any NYT "journalist" "reporting" at a later date could (and should) just check the NYT archive to verify whether this claim was true or false.

Note: Reading the case, it appears that courts have imposed even further hurdles to find major media companies guilty of liable-- you can't just prove the institution as a whole knew the claim was false or was likely to be false. You also have to prove the specific individual working for that media company knew the claim was false or was likely to be false.

The biased Hawaiian judge created a weird new procedure in which he conducted his own "evidentiary review" during the trial and took the case out of the jury's hands, saying that he had decided, on his own, that, as a "matter of law," the Republican Loses and the Democrats Win, the way Satan demands it to be.

The Second Circuit Court of Appeals has now reversed this jackass opinion, and reinstated the lawsuit.

Sarah Palin Scores New Trial in N.Y. Times Defamation Case

Sarah Palin's defamation lawsuit against the New York Times over an editorial linking Palin to the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords was revived on Wednesday.

Several "major issues" during Palin's unsuccessful 2022 federal trial in Manhattan "impugn the reliability of that verdict," the Second Circuit said.

While the jury was deliberating, US District Court Judge Jed S. Rakoff tossed the case, saying that "as a matter of law," the news outlet wasn't liable.

That ruling "improperly intruded on the province of the jury by making credibility determinations," Judge John M. Walker Jr., of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, said Wednesday.

Rakoff didn't inform the jury of his decision, but Bloomberg News reported that several jurors deliberating in the case learned from smart-phone push notifications that the judge had said he would rule in favor of the Times.

The trial was also marred by improperly excluded evidence and inaccurate jury instructions, the Second Circuit said.

The Second Circuit vacated the jury verdict finding the Times wasn't liable and vacated the district court's separate ruling dismissing the case. In vacating Rakoff's ruling, the Second Circuit said there's a sufficient evidentiary basis for a reasonable jury to find for Palin on the question of actual malice.

By the way: this biased, corrupt judge first dismissed the case on a 12(1)(b) motion, then, when that was reversed, he engineered this new way to dismiss the case, again.

And now he's reversed. Again.

And even worse: The judge made his "secret" ruling but let the jury deliberate anyway. So that if they returned a "not liable" verdict, his personal ruling would look stronger.

But his "secret" ruling somehow leaked out to the press and the jurors got notified the case had already been decided by the judge, who ruled against Palin.

Then, they also decided that Palin should lose.

Maybe they were slightly influenced by the judge's not-so-secret ruling, huh?

Say, maybe it's time to take him off this case, huh?

I've been before the trial judge in the past, and although I have deep respect for him, he played fast and loose with several procedural matters, and contrary to law, held an "evidentiary hearing" at the motion to dismiss stage. A real no-no.

Did the court demand that a different judge take this case, rather than the one who has time and time again twisted the law to deny justice to Sarah Palin?

Of course not:

We do not find it necessary to remand the case to a different district judge.

Let's see what exciting new procedures he invents this time to make sure his filthy tribe wins again.

(By the way, he's also repeatedly excluded evidence damaging to the New York Times' claims that their "reporter" had no idea the claims were false. I expect more of that.)

"Chaos" In the France As Macron Refuses to Choose a Prime Minister, Leaving Country Without a Government; Critics Say He's Keeping All Power to Himself, Like a Tyrant, and May Be Impeached

Macron did a dirty deal with the communists to eke out a... draw with the National Rally.

Part of the deal, I guess, was that he would appoint a communist or far-left socialist as Prime Minister. It's the Prime Minister who actually forms and runs the government in France.

But Macron isn't following through on his deal, leaving France without an actual government -- and drawing complaints that he is currently an illegal tyrant.

France has been plunged into further political chaos after Emmanuel Macron refused to name a prime minister from the leftwing coalition that won the most parliamentary seats in the snap election last month.

The president had hoped consultations would break the political deadlock caused by the election that left the Assemblée Nationale divided into three roughly equal blocks -- left, centre and far right -- none of which has a majority of seats.

After two days of talks with party and parliamentary leaders to break the stalemate and allow him to name a prime minister with cross-party support, Macron's decision not to choose the New Popular Front's candidate was met with anger and threats of impeachment.

A government formed by the leftwing alliance the New Popular Front (NFP) -- comprising France Unbowed (LFI), the Socialist party (PS), the Greens (EELV) and the Communist party (PCF) -- would lead to an immediate vote of no confidence and a collapse of the government, Macron said explaining his decision.

"Such a government would immediately have a majority of more than 350 MPs against it, effectively preventing it from acting," Macron added. "In view of the opinions expressed by the political leaders consulted, the institutional stability of our country means that this option should not be pursued."

The leftist coalition, the NFP, says negotiations are over, except to discuss which far-left asshole to appoint as PM.

After Monday's announcement, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the LFI president, accused Macron of creating an "exceptionally serious situation".

"The popular and political response must be swift and firm," Mélenchon said. LFI called for demonstrations urging the president to "respect democracy" and said it would present a motion of impeachment of Macron.

"The president of the republic does not recognise the result of universal suffrage, which placed the New Popular Front at the top of the polls," it said in a statement.

"He refuses to appoint Lucie Castets as prime minister. Under these conditions, the motion of impeachment will be presented by LFI MPs. Any proposal for a prime minister other than Lucie Castets will be subject to a motion of censure."

Marine Tondelier, secretary general of the Greens, said the president's action was "a disgrace" and "dangerous democratic irresponsibility".

Leftwing leader Melenchon issued the "solemn warning" to impeach Macron.

In an open letter published in the newspaper La Tribune dimanche, Mélenchon and his top deputies accuse President Emmanuel Macron of an "institutional coup de force" and "abuse of power." In their "solemn warning," they call on the president to "accept the results of the legislative elections" and appoint the NFP's candidate Lucie Castets as prime minister, failing which LFI would trigger Article 68 of the Constitution, which allows the president to be removed from office in the event of a "dereliction of duty."

LFI's initiative was prepared in secret, without its NFP allies. They only warned their partners by text message on Saturday that the text would be released the following day.

But LeMonde thinks this is unlikely to go anywhere:

Realistically, an Article 68 procedure would have no chance of success, given the current parliamentary balance. A resolution must first be passed by a two-thirds majority in both chambers of Parliament. Then a high court made up of members from both chambers has one month to give its verdict, again requiring a two-thirds majority. The legal legitimacy of the move would also be questioned. "The head of state is in his constitutional role. In the absence of a majority, he consults the political groups in order to appoint a prime minister," said the Elysée Palace, denouncing "a fuss that is hardly in keeping with the spirit of the Republic and the letter of the Constitution" and adding that LFI has a "taste for disorder that is hardly reassuring."

Via Al Jazeera, Macron is claiming that the communists who he did a dirty deal with must now "cooperate," by which he means: Even though I did a dirty deal with them that gave them the most seats, I want them to agree to a PM from my minority party.

"The Socialist Party, the Greens and the Communists have not proposed ways to cooperate with other political forces. It is now up to them to do so," he said.

[W]hile he mentioned the Greens, Socialists and Communists in his statement, he left out the hard-left France Unbowed (LFI), which also forms part of the NFP.

Macron has previously referred to the LFI as an "extreme movement".

The centre and right-wing parties also criticised the NFP's big spending manifesto, as it comes at a time when the country faces a budget deficit and a debt mountain.

Although Macron has picked a "caretaker" acting PM, that PM has not been voted on by the National Assembly and therefore has no actual constitutional right to govern.

I'm not sure what all this means. My hope would be that the crisis continues and forces Macron to call for another snap election, with the far left this time unwilling to play along with Macron, but I didn't see anyone discussing that as a real possibility.

The headline on the article appears to have been changed due to the embarrassment of the incredible propaganda operation, with the Gaslight Media now claiming that Kamala Harris has no position in the Biden-Harris Administration at all.

Kamala Harris, the Most Accomplished and Dynamic Democrat Politician in History Since the Last One, Finally Agrees to One Pre-Taped, Edited Interview with CNN Democrat Dana Bash.

She's so strong and empowered she needs a man to copy her homework off of, even when she'll be asked the easiest, softest questions by CNN's second-most biased "journalist" (after Jim Acosta, natch).

Naturally, you assumed that the interview would take place on a left-leaning network. Of course, you were right. CNN gets the honor of holding the first interview, and chief political correspondent and anchor Dana Bash will be the one to conduct it. Because of course.

But that's not the catch.

Despite all the criticism Harris has received, even from her allies in the media, for not doing any sit-down interviews or press conferences, her first interview won't be solo. Believe it or not, her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), will be her babysitter for the interview.

I guess she's trying to reach out to Generation Z by, like them, also bringing along her dad to a job interview:

After 37 days as the candidate, Harris is giving a joint interview. Could it be any more clear that Harris and her team don't believe she's up to standing on her own? She needs Walz there as a backup in case she goes off the rails.

Even CNN, in the article announcing the interview, points out that Harris has a track record of failure in this department.

Previous major interviews have presented a challenge for Harris. During a 2021 sit-down with NBC's Lester Holt, Harris responded with annoyance when asked why she had not visited the US-Mexico border as part of her assignment to investigate root causes of migration from Central and South America.

"At some point, you know, we are going to the border," Harris said in the interview. "We've been to the border. So, this whole, this whole, this whole thing about the border. We've been to the border. We've been to the border."

Holt responded: "You haven't been to the border."

Second (Meta)verse, same as the first

Remember Google Glass? For those of you who don't, it was a product Google made back in the early teens. It was an "augmented reality" product. It was a pair of glasses that could project information in front of your eyes (a heads-up display, basically) and contained cameras and microphones. You could easily take pictures and videos with it and it integrated with your smartphone.

It was immediately rejected by the market, including in its home market of Silicon Valley. Even before the product was released, many public places - bars, nightclubs, etc. - preemptively banned it. It was seen, correctly, as a creepy and invasive privacy nightmare for people who happened to be around the product, but not in control of it. At least with a smartphone, you have to pull it out to take a picture. Way too many people found it way too creepy, for good reason. Google eventually made it into an "enterprise" product, and then discontinued it completely last year. They found the "creepy line."

The Morning Report — 8/28/24

Good morning kids. Rush Limbaugh of blessed memory used to say that the Democrats could never be honest about what they wanted to do because if they did, they'd never get elected.

But once they are elected, legitimately or otherwise, the failures of their policies still do not seem to matter, most especially to those who reflexively keep voting them in. I mean, just look at California. And yet.

After nearly four interminable years of an illegitimate Biden-Harris Junta, run no doubt from Kalorama (and Davos) that have lain waste to our economy, society, the rule of law and brought the world closer to global war than ever before (all this on top of the 8 years of Obama's initial stint of fundamental transformation), They're seemingly out in the open about it. And yet, after announcing that she intends to Sovietize the American economy with price controls, the reaction from even those in her own party was to backtrack faster than you can say five-year-plan.

Finally, weeks after having Biden thrown under the bus and being installed at the top of the ticket, she will make her first appearances on state-run media. And yet, those pulling the strings still feel compelled to do this:

What should volunteers for Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign tell voters about her policy positions? It’s hard to say.Over the course of the Democratic National Convention, Harris’s staff held several messaging sessions for supporters of her presidential run. There, attendees were given a crash course on how to convince their friends and family to vote for Harris this November.
But several of them left those sessions, which the Washington Free Beacon attended, a bit befuddled. There was no clear policy outline for campaign volunteers to bring home, nor would any staff members commit to a position on a variety of contentious issues. . .

. . . When asked by the Free Beacon, for example, about how voters should square the Harris campaign's repeated criticism, and sometimes mockery, of Trump’s tariff proposals when the White House has made many of its predecessor’s tariffs permanent, deputy communications director Brooke Goren said, "I’m not going to get into proposals about what the vice president might roll out in the future."

Those at the top know the positions. There aren't any, none that could be revealed lest they completely turn off all but the most hardcore leftist voter. One merely has to look at the track records of Harris and Walz to see what their true beliefs and values are. The Dems can't have that, now can they.

On top of that, we now have Harris taking credit for Trump's border wall and claiming to want to expand it as well as claiming to now be against EV mandates that she pushed hard for not so long ago.

So the strategy is just keep your mouth shut (Willie Brown sighs in sadness) and hope the courts and the media can clear the playing field for you to Walz right into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

On top of Jill Stein, Cornel West and RFK Jr., being abused, the latter's endorsement of Trump is going to be a factor — that is if this latest maneuver from the despicable Jack Smith doesn't thwart the Trump train:

The new indictment removes a section of the indictment that dealt with Trump’s interactions with the Justice Department, an area of conduct for which the Supreme Court in a 6-3 opinion last month said Trump was entitled to immunity from prosecution.

The updated criminal case no longer lists as a co-conspirator Jeffrey Clark, a Justice Department official who championed Trump’s false claims of election fraud. Trump’s co-conspirators were not named in either indictment, but they have been identified through public records and other means. . .

. . . The indictment retained the allegations that Trump attempted to pressure then-Vice President Mike Pence to refuse to certify the electoral vote count. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the court that the interactions between Trump and Pence amounted to official conduct for which “Trump is at least presumptively immune from prosecution.”

The question, Roberts wrote, is whether the government can rebut “that presumption of immunity.”

Aside from the charges being baseless and spurious, the SCOTUS has already ruled that for his official actions in office, Trump is indeed immune from prosecution. Which in a sane world doesn't even have any bearing on this because in no way did Donald Trump attempt to foment an insurrection or interfere with the electoral process. But you knew that already.

By hook and by crook, all that matters to the Left is attaining, maintaining and increasing their hold on absolute power over us.

Todays’ Democrats likewise are targeting the Constitution’s guardrails against tyranny of both the minority and the majority. On his way out the door, Joe Biden has proposed “reform” of the Supreme Court that would limit the tenure of justices to 18 years, and give the executive branch oversight of the Court, threatening the separation powers and the Justices’ independence. Another target is the Electoral College, which prevents the president from being chosen by a majority that would likely ignore or diminish the rights and interests of less populated states and regions.

. ..Finally, the political philosophy of the Democrat Party is consistent with the early Progressives: scientistic technocracy, utopian goals, and a rejection of the underlying principles of the Constitution, which is part of a more general rejection of tradition, especially religion, and common sense. For today’s left, their foundational philosophy is “make it new,” the same guiding doctrine of Chairman Mao’s Cultural Revolution, when what he called “the four olds” ––“old thought, old culture, old customs, and old habits” ––were eliminated by mass murder.

For today’s progressive Democrats, the Constitution–– with its divided and balanced powers, Bill of Rights, and ordered liberty–– is the bulwark against the tyranny they seek to impose on their fellow citizens who resist their utopian delusions, and to expanded power toward which both “marches” have been advancing.

Whether they succeed, or are slowed down enough to change course back to our Constitution, will be determined in November.

Regime Very Special Prosecutor Jack Smith Indicts Trump Again

He narrowed the charges to pretend to comply with the Supreme Court's ruling on presidential immunity -- but he's done nothing to cure the fact that he's an illegally-appointed prosecutor. Special prosecutors are supposed to be confirmed by Congress, and have their funding approved by Congress.

Smith was appointed by Merrick Garland and is funded by funds Merrick Garland decided himself to provide.

Special counsel Jack Smith has filed another indictment against former President Trump in the election interference case on Tuesday.

The new charges narrow the allegations against the Republican presidential nominee following a Supreme Court ruling that conferred broad immunity on former presidents.

Sources familiar with the matter tell Fox News that discussions surrounding the superseding indictment will likely not speed things up, and it is unlikely it will go to trial before the November election.

This article suggests that Very Special Prosecutor Smith hasn't "narrowed" the charges at all -- it's the same four charges, but this time with Very Special Arguments that Trump acted in his personal capacity in... checking to see if Georgia's vote tallies were right, among other actions.

He says that's a non-presidential action, and he thinks that's all there is to it.

No. The Supreme Court said the president has immunity even for actions taken at the "outer limits" of his presidential authority, which would certainly include making sure that vote counting was done properly.

And he's supposed to have a full hearing on these issues -- Smith is ignoring that. He's basically saying, I conducted the hearing in my head, and Trump lost, so I'm going to shit out another near-duplicate indictment.

As for the dismissal of the entire Florida part of the case due to Aileen Cannon determining he was illegally appointed, he's submitted an appeal in which he attacks Cannon and suggests she's a rogue judge.

Special counsel Jack Smith on Monday appealed federal Judge Aileen Cannon's ruling dismissing his classified records Mar-a-Lago case against former President Donald Trump, arguing that his appointment is valid.

Cannon, the U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Florida, last month dismissed Smith's case against Trump, ruling that it violated "the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution."

Cannon said Smith's appointment of special counsel was unconstitutional.

But Smith appealed Monday.

"The Attorney General validly appointed the Special Counsel, who is also properly funded," the filing states. "In ruling otherwise, the district court deviated from binding Supreme Court precedent, misconstrued the statutes that authorized the Special Counsel's appointment, and took inadequate account of the longstanding history of Attorney General appointments of special counsels."

"The district court's contrary view conflicts with an otherwise unbroken course of decisions, including by the Supreme Court, that the Attorney General has such authority, and it is at odds with widespread and longstanding appointment practices in the Department of Justice and across the government," Smith argued. "This Court should reverse."

Smith also argues that he was "properly funded through the congressionally enacted 'permanent indefinite appropriation' to 'pay all necessary expenses of investigations and prosecutions by independent counsel appointed pursuant to'" U.S. code.

"The district court's contrary conclusion depended solely on its erroneous determination that no 'other law' supported the Special Counsel's appointment," he continued. "Because its premise was wrong, so was its conclusion."

The Appointments Clause says, "Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the Supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States be appointed by the President subject to the advice and consent of the Senate, although Congress may vest the appointment of inferior officers in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments."

Smith, however, was never confirmed by the Senate.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung reacted to Smith's appeal Monday evening, saying every case against Trump should be tossed.

"As we move forward in Uniting our Nation, not only should the dismissal of the Lawless Indictment in Florida be affirmed, but be immediately joined by a dismissal of ALL the Witch Hunts," Cheung said. "The Democrat Justice Department coordinated ALL of these Political Attacks, which are an Election Interference conspiracy against Comrade Kamala's Political Opponent, President Trump."

He added: "Let us come together to END all Weaponization of our Justice System, and Make America Great Again!"

Smith is really ratcheting up the rhetoric against Cannon to get her removed from the case.

French Police Arrest Founder of Messaging App Telegram

France just arrested Pavel Durov, founder & CEO of the encrypted, uncensored Telegram platform. The need to protect free speech has never been more urgent.

France claims that Telegram isn't "doing enough" to crack down on "illegal speech."

Anyone who runs any kind of website runs the danger that people will post criminal solicitations. You can only do so much to stop it.

And it's not really your responsibility to stop it, anyway -- you're not the police.

The Regime is going after the Regime's enemies. Child porn is routinely posted on FaceBook, but Mark Zuckenberg is a loyal servant of the Regime, so he is excused.

People may be using Telegram to post messages that threaten the Regime, so
France -- probably at the connivance of the US/UK Censorship-Industrial Complex -- connives a fake arrest warrant.

Pavel Durov, the Russian-born founder of messaging app Telegram, was arrested in France as part of an investigation into crimes related to child pornography, drug trafficking and fraudulent transactions on the platform, French prosecutors said on Monday.

All of these happen on FaceBook. And Signal. And WhatsApp. And Venmo.

French President Emmanuel Macron, making the first official confirmation of Durov's arrest since he was detained at Le Bourget airport outside Paris on Saturday evening, said there was no political motive in the arrest, despite many false comments online.

Little warning to you little people: We arrested this guy for his speech platform. If we hear any of you peons spreading "false comments" about the Regime arresting him for political purposes, you'll be the next in the dock.

He added that France remains deeply committed to lawful free speech.

In a subsequent statement, Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said Durov was arrested as part of a probe into an unnamed person launched by the office's cybercrime unit on July 8.

The investigation is over suspected complicity in various crimes including running an online platform that allows illicit transactions, child pornography, drug trafficking and fraud, as well as the refusal to communicate information to authorities, money laundering and providing cryptographic services to criminals, the statement said.

That's the real reason for arrest -- he wouldn't turn over innocent conversations to the Regime when demanded.

So they went looking for illicit communications on Telegraph -- which, again, can be found on every messaging app -- and got him arrested.

Telegram founder Pavel Durov told Tucker Carlson in April the U.S. government contacted one of the platform's engineers to help them spy on users in an April interview.

"There was an attempt to hire my engineer behind my back by cyber security officers or agents," Durov told Tucker.

He said the U.S. government was attempting to persuade his engineer to use specific tools in Telegram's code that would grant governments access, enabling them to surveil users.

"You're confident that happened?" Tucker pressed Durov.

"Yes," he stated. "There is no reason for my engineer to make up these stories."

He claimed the FBI questioned him when he visited the U.S. When Tucker asked if he had committed a crime, Durov answered that the FBI was interested in Telegram.

"They knew I -- left Russia," he said. "They knew what we were doing, but they wanted details, and my understanding is that they wanted to establish a relationship in a way to control Telegram better."

The FBI declined to comment, and the U.S. Department of Defense directed the Caller to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). The ODNI has not immediately responded.

Ukranian agent-of-influence Alexander Vindman says the quiet part out loud and delights in the Deep State arresting all the people who disagree with him about politics and carbohydrate intake.

France arrested Telegram founder Pavel Durov on Saturday and the Deep State's favorite dancing monkey could not be happier.

Alexander Vindman, the national security "expert" of impeachment fame, now has a warning for anyone who would resist the coming storm of censorship.

Durov was "arrested for violating French law," Vindman wrote on X, but the arrest has "broader implications." It's just the beginning; there's a "growing appetite" for this sort of thing. "Musk should be nervous," he concluded, forebodingly.

Of course, Vindman is just the id of the liberal establishment. He's saying the quiet part out loud.

As Vindman notes in another tweet, France is ostensibly going after Durov for "all manner of criminal activity, including child porn" allegedly on the platform. But it's obviously just a pretext. Durov refused to bow to Vladimir Putin and censor speech on his platform in Russia. He fled to the West thinking it'd be safe. But now the supposedly liberal West is doing what even Putin wouldn't: they arrested him because he won't silence dissenting voices.

So while Vindman himself is a two-bit toady, he's right in the long-run. Durov's Telegram is mostly a threat to the Russia-Ukraine narrative. While Western elites love waging a good foreign proxy war, this won't ultimately hurt their bottom line. Musk's Twitter, on the other hand, has the power to shape the narrative back in the West.

O.J. Simpson's Lawyer Reveals That The Murderer's Body Was Creamated and the Ashes Used to Make "Jewelry"

Yeah this seems as good a way as any to dispose of this trash.

Now, Simpson's lawyer Malcolm LaVergne told TMZ that Simpson was cremated following his death and that his ashes were turned into pieces of jewelry. That jewelry was then divided up among his four children: Arnelle, Jason, Sydney and Justin.

TMZ reports Simpson's kids signed off on having their father's ashes turned into jewelry.

LaVergne revealed the entire process cost $4,243.06.

It's unclear if the initial idea to turn Simpson's ashes into jewelry was Simpson's or someone else's.

This update comes a month after Ron Goldman's father filed a creditor's claim against Simpson's estate seeking $117 million, NBC reported at the time.

"After July 25, 2024, the Claim Amount will accrue interest at the daily rate of $26,402.3630 until paid," the document stated, according to NBC. California courts renewed the 1997 judgment three times, and Simpson was ordered to pay the Goldman family $96.3 million in 2022, NBC reported. That amount has since accrued $20.6 million in interest.

NBC News reports that Fred Goldman and Sharon Rufo have only received "a little" of the money owned to them....

Following Simpson's death, Fred Goldman told NBC News that the only thing he has to say about it "is it's just further reminder of Ron being gone all these years. It's no great loss to the world. It's a further reminder of Ron's being gone."

Fred Goldman should sue to recover OJ Simspon's remains so that he can burn them in acid.

California Is Set to Approve Government-Subsidized Loans of $150,000 to Help Illegal Aliens Purchase Homes in the US

Lawmakers in California could soon make the Golden State the first in the country to make undocumented immigrants eligible for up to $150,000 in state-supported home loans.

The Democratic supermajority in the California state legislature is likely to pass a measure this week that would make undocumented immigrants eligible for the "California Dream for All" loan program, a state-funded program that provides 20% in down payment assistance up to $150,000, according to a report for Politico.

Participants in the program must be first-time homebuyers, and at least one must be a first-generation homebuyer, while income levels must be below certain limits depending on the county where the recipient lives.

The measure comes amid the backdrop of a national election in which immigration has taken center stage, the report notes, with the Trump campaign attempting to tie Vice President Kamala Harris to Biden administration border policies that have proven unpopular with voters.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who has been one of President Biden's and now Harris' top surrogates on the campaign trail, has not said whether he will sign the bill into law if it clears the legislature before the Aug. 31 deadline.

Gabbard accompanied Trump earlier Monday to Arlington National Cemetery, where the former president laid wreaths in honor of three of the slain service members -- Sgt. Nicole Gee, Staff Sgt. Darin Hoover and Staff Sgt. Ryan Knauss.

Donald J. Trump plans to name his former rival, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard, a one-time Democrat, as honorary co-chairs of a presidential transition team that will help him select the policies and personnel of any second Trump administration, according to a campaign senior adviser.

More than 200 former aides to the three GOP presidential nominees who preceded former President Trump in 2016 -- former President George W. Bush, former Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) -- endorsed Vice President Harris on Monday.

The majority of the group also endorsed President Biden in 2020.

In other words: They are Democrats.

The group wrote a letter announcing the endorsement, USA Today first reported.

The letter said it was a reunion of sorts from 2020, though it added that additional Bush alumni in particular were added to the group this cycle that are opposing Trump and backing Harris.

"Of course, we have plenty of honest, ideological disagreements with Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz. That's to be expected. The alternative, however, is simply untenable," the Republicans wrote.

Bullshit, you have no ideological disagreements with the Democrats. This is the fig leaf that David French & Co. always present: "Oh I totally disagree with the Democrats. Mark Zuckerberg Admits Biden-Harris Administration Pressured Him to Censor Dissenters on Covid and Hunter's Laptop; Admission Directly Contracits DHS Sec. Mayorkas' Claim He Never Asked Social Media Companies to Censor Anything

Mark Zuckerberg says he regrets that Meta bowed to Biden administration pressure to censor content, saying in a letter that the interference was "wrong" and he plans to push back if it happens again.

Meta's CEO aired his grievances in a letter Monday to the House Judiciary Committee in response to its investigation into content moderation on online platforms. Zuckerberg detailed how senior administration officials leaned on the company to censor certain posts about Covid-19, including humor and satire, and "expressed a lot of frustration" when the social media platform resisted.

"I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it," Zuckerberg wrote. "I feel strongly that we should not compromise our content standards due to pressure from any Administration in either direction -- and we're ready to push back if something like this happens again."

Zuckerberg also expressed regret for essentially hiding content related to coverage by the New York Post about Hunter Biden ahead of the 2020 election that the FBI warned may have been rooted in a Russian disinformation operation.

"It's since been made clear that the reporting was not Russian disinformation, and in retrospect, we shouldn't have demoted the story," he wrote.

The Biden-Harris White House doubled down on censorship:

The White House issued a statement defending the administration's approach to Covid-19 information.

"When confronted with a deadly pandemic, this Administration encouraged responsible actions to protect public health and safety," the statement said. "Our position has been clear and consistent: we believe tech companies and other private actors should take into account the effects their actions have on the American people, while making independent choices about the information they present."
