"Migrants are stealing and eating pets" is both a racist lie AND a meme. People like the owner of this website are spreading the claim and laughing about it at the same time -- further poisoning the info environment.

The creed of leftwing Marxist "fact"-checkers: "It's a lie because we need it to be."

I already mentioned the leftwing habit of denying a particular -- that the woman eating a neighbor's cat was a Haitian or an immigrant -- and letting that denial "stand in" for a denial of the entire story.

The Federalist has gotten hold of a police call about Haitians slaughtering four geese is Springfield. I assume the Racist Cops were making all of this up just so it could be later leaked to Far Right Extremist websites.

A recording of a police phone call obtained by The Federalist reveals a local resident reporting a group of Haitian migrants carrying four geese in Springfield, Ohio two weeks ago.

"I'm sitting here, I'm riding on the trail, I'm going to my orientation for my job today, and I see a group of Haitian people, there was about four of 'em, they all had geese in their hand," the caller tells the public services dispatcher in the audio recording of the call.

According to a police report reviewed by The Federalist, the call was placed on Aug. 26, before the Columbus suburb located roughly 50 miles from the state capital became nationally known this week for epitomizing the nation's migrant crisis. The caller told the dispatcher he saw four migrants in total, two men and two women, each carrying a single goose.

"I was trying to get my phone out and I was trying to make it to this orientation on time," the caller continued. "I'm time crunching here, and I saw that, I'm like, 'Yeah this has got to be reported," he tells the non-emergency police dispatcher.

"How many geese did they have?" the dispatcher asks the caller in the recording.

"Uh, they each had one," he replies.

The caller says he spotted the Haitians carrying the geese at an intersection between Water and Warder Street, a location that does exist in Springfield and is confirmed in the police report later filed about the incident.

You may be worried: "Because I read this racist post, am I now a racist?"

Good news -- you never weren't.

No, not the debate. Between the live threads yesterday and the analysis that is sure to follow, I probably have little to contribute on that topic. But debates are not the only theatrics this season, or even this week. There is another grand show going on, partially (or even largely) overshadowed by the debate. It's an old show. It's a tired old franchise with yet another in an interminable series of sequels.

That show is called "The Budget." The Budget: Episode XXIV (or whatever number - it doesn't matter) is out of pre-production and the live show is currently underway. As usual, Congress has failed to pass a budget. As usual, it is pursuing a continuing resolution. As usual, the amounts of money involved are staggering. As usual, the deficits are deep and broad. As usual, there are soundbites and passionate speeches. As usual, there are hostages in the form of riders. As usual, there are phony carrots and phonier sticks.

The Morning Report — 9/11/24

Good Morning Kids. 23 years ago our world was turned upside down. Beyond the sheer horrors of what we saw that day, and some of us felt (I lost a classmate who was trapped on the 108th floor of the south Tower) and in fact I was at the World Trade Center exactly a week before and were it not for a last second decision to return to Los Angeles likely would have been there that morning at the exact time the Towers collapsed.

The events of that day and their aftermath, along with the political high-tech lynching of Clarence Thomas a decade earlier marked my personal political awakening and transformation. Considering what has happened and is happening both here and abroad, those events remain seminal in the eternal struggle between (pace Mark Levin) liberty and tyranny.

God bless the sacred memory of all those who perished on that horrible day, as well as those who gave their lives in the ensuing travesty of the so-called Global War on Terror that has done nothing to avenge their deaths nor to make America and civilization safer. All one has to do is peruse the website Religionofpeace dot com (linked here) and look at the body count since 9/11/01 of the practitioners of Islam as written and preached to understand that they will not stop until all of us are dead or subjugated, even if it means turning planet Earth into a nuclear wasteland.

Ditto their allies of convenience, the Globalist communist Left, especially in America and all over the world. Yet even Germany has had it up to here (pointing at my neck where Ahmed will cut along the dotted line) with unchecked migration from dark age Islamic hell holes. Of course, they like many other nations have only themselves to blame for allowing this as national policy for decades, be it for economic or other reasons. It's likely too late but still, at least they're doing something to try and restore something that resembles, if they're lucky, Springfield Ohio or Aurora Colorado, right? If they're lucky. As it stands, Europe is on course to become Kabul or Islamabad within the next 10 years, if not sooner.

Speaking of Kabullshit, if you caught the so-called debate last night, among the unmitigated lies hurled by Kamala at Donald Trump was this titanic whopper of a blood libel:

Vice President Kamala Harris, who once boasted of being the "last person in the room" when President Joe Biden finalized America's withdrawal from Afghanistan, instead blamed former president Donald Trump for the botched evacuation during Tuesday night's debate.

As expected, it was about as horrible a rigged shit-show as you imagined. There are a number of links at the top of the Politics section to peruse vis a vis reactions.

What was supposed to be a presidential debate between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris hosted by ABC News, instead became a debate between the former president, his current challenger, and ABC’s two moderators: David Muir and Linsey Davis.
Even as Kamala Harris lied about her positions on fracking, gun control, and Israel, Muir and Davis repeatedly jumped in to argue with Trump under the guise of ‘fact-checking’ him.
The 3-on-1 debate format may very well mark the end of mainstream media presidential debates. It also represented a new low in not just media bias, but election interference.
The media marks each year by giving the public new reasons to distrust it, and ABC News, Muir, and Davis were clearly so insecure about the performance of their candidate that they repeatedly felt called on to argue with Trump instead of letting Kamala rebut him.
ABC News, Muir, and Davis also had no trust in the voters to decide for themselves. 
And so what was supposed to be a debate between two candidates instead became a debate between the establishment and an insurgent. Paradoxically this cut against efforts by the Kamala campaign to brand her an “underdog: and an insurgent candidate swimming upstream. . .

. . . Kamala came into the debate with the same approach as her campaign. Unburdened by her past views or her administration’s current positions, she recited contradictory memorized speeches that reflected whatever her pollsters thought the public might want to hear.
That meant accusing Trump of being soft on China, blaming him for her administration’s disastrous pullout from Afghanistan and claiming that crime was down. It also meant howlers like contending that “there is not one member of the United States military who is in active duty in a combat zone in any war zone around the world” when American soldiers have been killed in Syria and wounded in Iraq, and just weeks ago took part in a raid in that same country.
None of the moderators thought that needed fact-checking.
Kamala claimed on the eve of 9/11 that January 6 was the “worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.” But the attacks of September 11 and the resurgence of Al Qaeda and ISIS in Afghanistan did not come up at the debate since it wasn’t nearly as important as abortion.
Instead, there was time for an extended conversation about abortion during which Kamala falsely claimed that women were being denied IVF procedures because of Trump. ABC’s Linsey Davis did not see fit to argue with that but did argue with Trump about partial-birth abortion.

Some have criticized Trump mostly for his angry reactions at the in-your-face bias of the moderators, but can you blame him? For sure, he had to know he was walking into a public execution. Had he refused, he' have been raked over the coals for that.

But will last night's farce really move the needle to anyone but the lowest of low information voters? Since Kamala now has the Taylor Swift endorsement, I guess that's good enough for them. And if that is the case, then we as a society are screwed.

In the end, I don't think last night will make that much of a difference. The election will boil down to the reality of open borders and a dead economy vs. how many dead voters show up for the Democrats after the polls close this November.

But Kamala wanted "reassurances" that ABC would not allow her to lose. Because the mics being off stopped her from being "the prosecutor," ABC gave her reassurances they would prosecute the case for her.

I wish Trump would point out that this isn't just about "plans" or hypotheticals, but realities: We all know what happened with the economy under Trump, and we're all living with what happened with the economy under Harris.

Even the Marxist New Republic Is Now Blasting Kamala Harris for Refusing to Say What She Even Believes In

Three days before the Times poll came out, amid growing consternation about her deliberate lack of a clear and detailed agenda, Kamala Harris's campaign announced a new policy--sort of. Harris, her campaign said, was no longer in favor of banning plastic straws.

The campaign's strategy, it seemed, was to ride those good summer vibes and avoid the risk of an aggressive policy agenda that would expose her to criticism. But having too few policies is also risky, not least because it makes Harris look like she doesn't stand for anything (and also because her few policy stances then get nitpicked to death: Her price-gouging solution was roundly criticized by economists across the political spectrum, while her tip policy has come under fire because it was first taken up by Trump).

The Harris campaign is only now, belatedly, realizing that this is a problem. On Sunday, they finally added an "Issues" section to her website. It includes a slew of policies that the campaign has previously outlined, as well as sections on reproductive and civil rights. Unfortunately for Harris, its release was undermined by a simple but telling error: The page's source code revealed that parts of the platform were copied directly from Biden's campaign page.

This is dangerous territory for Harris, given that the Times poll found that more than 60 percent of voters wanted the next president to represent a "major change" from Biden--and only a quarter felt that Harris represented that change.

The New Republic wants Kamala were to announce her real positions, to commit herself out loud to Marxism. It's so obvious she's a far-left Marxist that even CNN has been reporting on it -- and troubled by it.

What does Kamala Harris actually believe? I don't think anyone knows for certain but looking back over her run for president in 2019, it is striking how committed she seemed to be to Medicare for All at the time.

And yet, she also had significant trouble defending the plan, not just once but multiple times. She famously raised her hand, along with Bernie Sanders, when asked during a debate who would give up private insurance for Medicare for All. But the next day she was walking it back, claiming she was talking about her personal insurance...or something.

All of this is still very relevant because Harris has now abandoned Medicare for All, but it's still likely questions about her shifting position will come up during tonight's debate. In advance of that debate the Harris camp is doing its best, with the help of friendly media, to square the circle between what she was saying then and what she is saying now.

The Harris campaign and her White House office acknowledged that Harris's health-care positions have shifted since her last bid for the presidency. In interviews, officials said her previous support for Medicare-for-all and current pledge to build on private health insurance draw from a core conviction to expand health coverage and access to services....

Just look how hard the Washington Post is working to make her past position something that happened a long time ago and far, far away.

Harris's allies say that her Medicare-for-all plan -- to paraphrase their candidate -- didn't just fall out of a coconut tree. The 2019 proposal needs to be understood in the context of all that came before it.

First came a memorable town hall in August 2017 -- more than 2,500 days ago, and more than 2,500 miles away from Tuesday's debate stage -- where the freshman senator made a promise that would help shape her first presidential campaign.

There were two big problems with Medicare for All, one political and one practical. The political problem was that it would end private insurance, meaning everyone would lose the insurance they currently have. That was always unpopular. Harris did her best to talk around this problem in 2019, but she wasn't very convincing (see the videos below).

The other problem is practical. The cost of any Medicare for All program would be tens of trillions of dollars over 10 years. An estimate of the cost of Harris' 2019 plan produced last month put the cost in the realm of $44 trillion over a decade.

Kamala Harris claims -- wait, I mean anonymous, unnamed staffers claim on her behalf to her Media shills -- that "three and a half years of serving as Vice President have informed her position" -- but she also wants you to know that "my values haven't changed." Wink.

ABC "News" has 100% objectivity in the Trump-Harris race: Literally 100% of their coverage of Trump has been negative. 93% of their coverage of Vibe Auntie has been positive.

With Kamala Harris and Donald Trump set to face off in their only scheduled debate Tuesday night, a new study from the Media Research Center (MRC) sheds light on the significant bias in ABC's election coverage leading up to the event. The study highlights how World News Tonight, ABC's flagship news program moderated by David Muir, has provided overwhelmingly favorable coverage of Harris while casting Trump in a predominantly negative light, raising concerns about the fairness of Tuesday's high-stakes debate, which will be hosted by ABC.

From July 21st, the day Harris entered the race, through September 6th, MRC analysts reviewed 100 campaign stories aired on World News Tonight. Their analysis found that Harris received zero negative statements from nonpartisan sources, reporters, or anchors, giving her a perfect 100% positive spin. In contrast, Trump faced 66 negative comments and only five positive statements, resulting in 93% negative coverage.

The MRC report highlights the editorial choices that contributed to this imbalance. ABC avoided labeling Harris as a "liberal" or "progressive," unlike CBS and NBC, which made early efforts to identify her ideology. A second man has been arrested in the killing of a bald eagle last year in northeast Nebraska.

Ramiro Hernandez Tziquin, a Guatemalan native, was found last month hiding from authorities using a fake identity, the Stanton County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

He has since entered a guilty plea in federal court, and a sentencing for violating the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act is scheduled for October.

The sheriff's office said Hernandez Tziquin and Domingo Zetino Hernandez shot and killed a bald eagle at the Wood Duck State Wildlife Management Area on Feb. 28, 2023.

Deputies found the dead bald eagle in the trunk of their vehicle, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. The men told deputies they planned to cook and eat the bird, the sheriff's office said.

Zetino Hernandez was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, but Hernandez Tziquin went on the lam for over a year.

He is charged with killing protected wildlife. Prosecutors want to give him additional time for "Painfully on-the-nose symbolism."

Diving Deeper:

Election analyst Nate Silver has sharply raised Donald Trump's chances of winning the 2024 presidential election, giving him a 63.8% probability of defeating Vice President Kamala Harris. This uptick comes in the wake of a New York Times/Sienna poll released Sunday, which Silver cites as highly reliable. The poll, along with other indicators, prompted Silver to increase Trump's odds from 58.2% just days earlier.

Silver's model now shows Trump with a strong advantage in several crucial swing states. Trump is given a 64% chance of winning Pennsylvania, 54% for Michigan, and 53% for Wisconsin. In traditionally conservative-leaning states like Arizona (77%), North Carolina (75%), and Georgia (68%), Trump holds even firmer ground. Via Instapundit, Silver thinks that the defining of Red Kam as a hard-left San Francisco "progressive" is going to start biting even harder.

Harris's articulation of highly progressive positions on immigration and health care have become a talking point for the Trump campaign and one where the facts are mostly on their side. Harris has flip-flopped on some of these positions, like on Medicare for All and decriminalizing border crossings. Still, you'll probably see clips like the one above in heavy rotation in Republican attack ads.

The flip-flopping may explain why Harris has been weirdly reluctant to do media hits or articulate policy specifics. This strategy may have worked well enough when she was riding high off the vibes of the Democrats' candidate swap, but it's causing her more problems now.

This morning's NYT/Siena poll contained a pair of questions on whether voters think Harris is too liberal/progressive3 and whether Trump is too conservative. The numbers were lopsided in Trump's favor. Only 32 percent of voters said Trump was too conservative, while 47 said Harris was too liberal. The demographics on this question are about what you might expect. Harris is faring poorly among white voters without college degrees, rural voters, and older voters: the types of voters who are plentiful in Blue Wall states like Pennsylvania.

I'm not a messaging-and-tactics guy like Dan Pfieffer, but I'm not quite sure how Harris is supposed to spin her way out of this perception.

The father of accused Georgia school shooter Colt Gray believed that his 14-year-old son was too gentle, and bought him the AR-15-style rifle in an attempt to "toughen him up," a relative claims.

Colin Gray gave his troubled son the assault rifle for Christmas -- the weapon that Colt ended up using in last Wednesday's bloodbath at Apalachee High School that left two teens and two teachers dead, authorities have said.

That means, of course, that he bought the gun for his femboi psychopath after local police had knocked on his door about his posting of threats to shoot up the school on his Discord.

But it was the way Colin spoke to his son that raised the eyebrows of concerned family members.

"He would call Colt names to his face," says a relative of Colt's mother, Marcee. "Names that no boy wants to hear: sissy, p--y, bitch... just names that were meant to break him down and emasculate him."

The relative added: "Colin always thought that Colt was too gentle and tender. That's why I believe he gave him the rifle."

So I do see here an attempt to soften up Colt's image, by blaming the father.

Still, we know the father bought the gun after alerted that his gay psychopath son was making threats to kill children.

Colin, the father...

...has been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children in the second degree.

If he's convicted of all charges, Colin faces up to 180 years in prison.

In prison, Colin may learn what it is to be a sissy and a bitch.

Below, the local cops knock on Colin Grey's door to inform him that his pansy psychopath son has been threatening to shoot up a school.

Colin seems.... much more cool with it than you might guess.

He promises that if Colt did make those threats, then "all of the guns are going away."

Obviously, that was an empty promise. He promised this in May 2023, then gave him his Christmas gun in December 2023.

He also talks about Colt being "bothered" at school. He knew the kid was troubled, he knew the kid was making terroristic threats to commit a mass shooting.

He still bought him the gun.

It's like having a fucked-up kid who's fascinated by fire and burning animals and buying him a can of gasoline and box of matches. So he can "express his creativity."

Speaker Mike Johnson's funding bill is now facing opposition from half a dozen Republican colleagues as the window of opportunity to avert a government shutdown is closing.

Johnson's continuing resolution and attached SAVE Act, an election integrity bill that requires proof of citizenship for voter registration, is poised for a vote Wednesday and is now facing pushback from GOP lawmakers who have fiscal and national security concerns. As of this writing, six Republicans are confirmed no-votes and several others are on the fence, which gives very little wiggle room for Johnson's CR to pass the House.

Defense hawks like Republican Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana and House Armed Services Chair Mike Rogers are confirmed no-votes, citing national security.

Absolute scumbags, liberals and catspaws of the CIA.

Others are against the CR in general. But what is the alternative? It's too late for Congress to do its job and go back to regular appropriations.

This seems like grandstanding and preening:

Due to fiscal concerns, Republican Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Cory Mills of Florida and Matt Rosendale of Montana all intend to vote against the funding bill.

"A vote for a continuing resolution is a vote to keep adding $1 trillion to our debt every 100 days," Burchett told the Daily Caller News Foundation. "That's not the way Congress is supposed to operate."

Agreed but.... Obviously you cannot actually go through the proper procedures in time to fund the government. By withholding your vote, you're forcing Mike Johnson to drop the SAVE Act provision to get Democrats to cross over to vote for it.

Are these people simply stupid? Are they incapable of distinguishing between real fights happening right now vs. more philosophical, big-picture fights happening all the time? Are they incapable of distinguishing between Something Good (returning to regular order) and Something Absolutely Vital (requiring voter ID)?

Due to the GOP's slim House majority, the conference can only afford to lose four votes, assuming that every member is in attendance.

"I refuse to be a thespian in the Speaker's failure theater," Massie said in a post on X. "The 6 month continuing resolution with the SAVE Act attached is an insult to Americans' intelligence. The CR doesn't cut spending, and the shiny object attached to it will be dropped like a hot potato before passage."

Some might say that you're the star of this most recent Failure Theater production, Massie, as you so often are, claiming your Princibuhls force you to vote the Democrats' way time and time again.

I know a guy named David French who says that too, Massie. You should get in touch. You seem very sympatico.

Other Republicans like Reps. Paul Gosar of Arizona, Eric Burlison of Montana and Eli Crane of Arizona are hesitant about voting for the CR, according to Punchbowl.

Some vulnerable Republicans had reservations about attaching the SAVE Act to the funding bill, arguing that the possibility of a shutdown could impede their chances of reelection. The speaker reassured these Republicans during a private call last week that he wouldn't go into this spending fight if he thought it would fall through.

Johnson told GOP lawmakers during the call that his strategy will force Democratic leadership to answer for why they oppose election integrity measures, a source with direct knowledge of the call told the DCNF.

I'm just so, so tired. After this election, I think I'm done. They can all go fuck themselves.

Even CNN's Leftwing Karen Is Shocked by How Extreme Kamala Harris's Positions Are

Positions like strongly supporting the US government paying for the gender transitions of illegal alien minors in detention.

Note that when contacted about this questionnaire, filled out by Harris for the ACLU, the Harris campaign once again resorted to anonymous, unnamed staffers attempting to spin away Red Kam's extremist positions without the candidate herself announcing she was repudiating the old positions.

BURNETT: Have they responded to you on her changes on these issues?

KACZYNSKI: So we did put this question to the Harris campaign about the entire ACLU questionnaire, and the Harris campaign didn't answer any questions from CNN. Instead, they just provided a statement from an unnamed Harris campaign adviser that just said, the vice president's positions have been shaped by three years of effective governance as part of the Biden/Harris administration.

Now, they declined to CNN to elaborate on what those positions were. Then they also provided this statement which they attributed to his spokesperson saying, as president, she will take that same pragmatic approach, focusing on common sense solutions for the sake of progress. So where does she stand on this all, all this questioner today, we don't know and they won't say.

The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

Today's art portrayed one of the intellectual titans of the 18th century. It's hard to find a better example of the explosion of intellectualism in Europe than Antoine Lavoisier. He was a polymath, but he is best known for his tremendous advances in chemistry, including the revolutionary concept that matter is neither created nor destroyed. Remember those stoichiometry problems in Chem 1? Yeah...you can thank Lavoisier for those!

But he was what was essentially a tax collector for the French government, and that attracted the attention of the Committee of Public Safety, that wonderful terror organ of the revolution in France. Never mind that he was an unabashedly great man, who along the way, as director of the "French Gunpowder Administration," had made the country self-sufficient in its production of that vital war materiel.

Despite Lavoisier being a loyal Frenchman, a towering figure in science, and a potentially useful ally of the revolution, they chopped off his head.

But don't worry...they forgave him 18 months later, so all is well!

That, in microcosm, is progressivism. How the rabble that was running France FELT about Lavoisier was sufficient justification for his execution. And since feelings change, it was also reasonable in their twisted and illogical world-view that Lavoisier be rehabilitated.

It is those feelings...the base, often evil, completely illogical impulses of Man that progressivism allows free reign. We see it in America today. A budding psychiatric case FEELS that he is really a woman, and off we send him to the butchers masquerading as physicians. Our elites-in-training FEEL like Gaza is being abused by those mean Israeli Jews, absent any data to show it, yet off they run to riot and burn and destroy...all in the name of their irrational and fact-free feelings.

Chesterton's Fence addresses this rather neatly. That fence may look like it serves no purpose, but a sober analysis... boring stuff that is no fun at all... might show that it serves an important purpose indeed!

The Morning Report — 9/10/24

Good Morning Kids.

As the estimable Danniel Greenfield reminded us just last March:

Haiti is not just a failed state, it’s a perpetually failed state. When was the last time Haiti was functional?

The Clinton administration implemented what it called Operation Uphold Democracy in the 90s and invaded Haiti to implement regime change. The entire ugly episode helped wreck whatever law and order existed at the time.

The Clintons later dived back in to “help Haiti”, but mostly to help themselves to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. Obama promised that we will not “forsake you”. Fast forward to 2024 and Haiti has been in an extended state of disaster, under perpetual TPS immigration status and incapable of doing much for itself.

In 2023, the Biden administration had directed $110 million to Haiti through the summer, followed by another $65 million to bolster Haiti’s police force.

Yes, Haiti has been a basket case since the French were overthrown over 200 years ago. After dumping billions of dollars mostly into the pockets of the Duvaliers and whoever the Duvalier du jour is today with no doubt a very large chunk of change winding up in Chppaqua as the Clintons danced on the smoldering ruins of Port au Prince in the wake of the 2010 quake.

Now let us go somewhere far removed from Haiti, or so we thought. That is, Columbus Ohio.

In addition to strained government resources, Yost alleged that locals in the state have complained about migrants causing car crashes, squatting in homes, killing wildlife for food and stealing property, according to the press release. He cited the town of Springfield as an example, saying the town has “swollen by more than a third” because of the migrant influx.

“Ohio is a great place to work and live,” Yost continued on Monday. “But overwhelming our small towns with massive migrant populations without any coordination or assistance from the federal government is changing that in front of our eyes.”

There are confirmed reports of ducks and geese from local parks as well as citizens' pet cats being killed, gutted and eaten in public.

Horrid as this is, the rapes, robberies and murders, open terrorism from Venezuelan gangsters, and soon Islamic terrorists, that have been the result of the intentional erasure o our borders by the Kamala-orama Kalorama junta since they were installed in 2020 and quite frankly, since Teddy Kennedy's disastrous Hart-Celler act of 1965 laid the groundwork for turning America into yet another third world shit-hole, via the erasure of not just our borders but of our heritage, culture and history, all so that the Democrats could maintain a voting base of illiterate peasantry, to augment American blacks whose lives they destroyed the previous year with the Great Society.

And more than a mere anecdotal few of the former are as revolted by all of this as any rational, normal citizen would be. Scales falling from eyes? TBD.

With all of that, on top of a shattered economy, and a world in flames, we have tonight's debate between Trump and the cackler. A number of links with interesting prognostications, as if it is really going to change anyone's mind. If roasting park water fowl and your neighbors' cats can't convince you to at least not vote for this insanity, if not for Trump, then you have less brain function than Biden.
