12 Cat brought me a mouse just a few minutes ago, Publius. LOL. But he knows better than to try bringing it indoors.

He's munching happily on the deck right now. I expect to find a small piece of entrails on the mat when he's done. (Eww)

Posted by: JQ at September 11, 2024 04:32 AM (njWTi)

13
The other day, one snuck a mouse in. Garage door was opening, allowing him to bring it in through the cat door in the kitchen door, which opens to a screen porch next the garage.

Had the side door to that porch open as well, and the little booger snuck in it.

Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (w6EFb) at September 11, 2024 04:35 AM (w6EFb)

14 LOL publius! The lil booger, anyway!

Cat has finished his breakfast. Yep, a tiny piece of guts left on the mat for 'mommy' to dispose of...

He ate *everything but* that tiny piece. Head, feet, tail, skin & hair... YUCK...

Posted by: JQ at September 11, 2024 04:42 AM (njWTi)

15 ... and Cat THEN wanted in, for to snack on some dry treats.

Dessert, I guess. LOL.

Posted by: JQ at September 11, 2024 04:44 AM (njWTi)

16
I'll be, just looked on the back porch. Big Jake, the big orange tabby, was just finishing up something he dragged up. He ate it all, just leaving a wet spot.

And yes, he wanted in, and wanted some treats, too.

>> Only report on the debate I see is at PJ media and he thinks Harris didn't hurt herself and Trump didn't do as well as other times.

The debate wasn't really a debate because, it was a shallow partisan star chamber conducted by apparatchiks to take out a common foe.

Trump acquitted himself as best he could under the circumstances, Kambala was able to take advantage of the situation and lie her way to a draw at best, regardless of what anyone says, she didn't win anything.

In the final analysis, nothing said last night is going to matter within 48 hours.

The narrative circus will move on down the road.

That's really the only upside of being in the garbage twilight of a dying republic, nothing really matters.

97 Anyone looking for a cheap, good, Android tablet should consider Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4" 2020 edition, $118 USD.

Mine is the 32GB, (LTE Verizon & WIFI) version, and it is smaller with larger screen than my old Tab A, significantly faster processor and more feature rich.

It has headphones jack and SD card expandability and bright enough screen, although I have not taken it outside.

Its intended use is mainly music and books and some limited mobile work/notes usage with a detachable keyboard, with it's built-in LTE capability.

It doesn't come with a sleeve or case like the old Tab A, but that is a small quibble. At $118 2024 USD, it is practically half the cost I paid for my old Tab A some 10-12 years ago, and barely a scratch for such a capable device.

98 To be fair, Sony has put out a list of PS5 titles expected have enhanced versions available for download day and date with the PS5 Pro shipping.

Sony is also borrowing/stealing a trick from Microsoft, even down to calling it GameBoost. This is the technique that upgrades older games that have received no new developer attention. The PS5 Pro will phone home to see if Sony has a profile for the game selected and download the profile for the tweaker in the firmware to apply. Often things like a frame rate locked to 30 FPS can be overriden to enable much higher rates.

This is stuff Microsoft has been doing since the Xbox One.

99 Moore's Law is Dead has (or had, haven't checked yet) a good video up on it. And his coverage on the PS5 Pro to date has been solid enough Sony sicced the lawyers on him for it.

The $799 price is a dry run of PS6 pricing. The PS5 pro was already developed when Sony discovered that MS was going comatose on Xbox, so it is a completely sunk cost at this point. And they're perfectly able to sell it at $500-600, so they're floating the $800 number to see how many people actually bite.

If they do, the PS6 will be $700-800. If they don't, they just lose some warehousing costs, and knock it down to $600 in a few months, or just discontinue it and focus on the slim. They haven't lost anything much, and they will have gained valuable market data.
