Jessica's Law & NC

Citizens and Organizations have banned together to make a stand with Mark Lunsford at “Legislative Day” on Wednesday, April 25 , 2007 in Raleigh, NC. The mission is to facilitate the passing of HB 933/ Jessica Lunsford Act, for NC.

All this could be in vain since the Judiciary II Committee will hear HB 933/ Jessica Lunsford Act for NC. on Tuesday, April 24, 2007. If Chairman Rep. Dan Blue (D) or the Committee vetoes this bill, Mark Lunsford’s testimony on Wednesday, will be rendered moot and once again, the State of North Carolina will fail to pass a law to protect children. This would be a major step backwards, since last year HB 1921 (Version of Jessica’s Law) wasn’t even allowed to be heard.

Therefore, we all must call Rep Dan Blue’s Office on Monday, April 23rd. We must act now! Our Children’s lives and futures depend on all of us to enact. Last year, Rep Jennifer Weiss (Democrat- Wake County) Killed H.B. 1921 which was a bill similar to “Jessica’s Law” and now, they want to do the same with H.B. 933/the Jessica Lunsford Act, for N.C. Just guess who is Vice Chairman of the Judiciary II Committee? You guessed it, Rep. Jennifer Weiss. Out of fifteen members of the JII Committee, nine are Democrats and six are Republicans. It is the Democrats we must call on Monday

Judiciary II Committee has 15 members, (9) Democratics and (6) Republicans.

This year various individuals and groups formed an action group called, “Jessica’s Law Now North Carolina.” Group was formed in response to the apathetic lawmakers, who are dithering about Jessica’s Law rather than making a solid difference toward protecting our children. This formed coalition is tired of all the prolonging games and excuses by our lawmakers when it comes to our children. We say, “Cut the fat! Rather spend on pet projects and guilt trips (Apologies for Slavery, Smoking Bans, Trans Fat Bans, etc.) focus!”

North Carolina has 111,000 children yearly reported "Abused" and "Neglected.” Presently, 10,000 registered "Sex Offenders" move to a new address or jobs daily. Children, women, elderly, incapacitated or handicapped people are especially at risk from sexual predators. North Carolina is no different; our cities have large number of registered sexual offenders. Individuals that commit sexual crimes against children need incarceration or strict comprehensive monitoring.

Statement By Headship -“Jessica’s Law Now North Carolina.”

“Over the past several years, I have given time to push for tougher laws, regarding sex crimes, especially sexual predators. Personally, I have worked with sexually abused children and have seen the effects. Words cannot even begin to describe seeing the rape of child’s innocent soul. The soul is amputated and takes a lifetime to repair, if ever!”

Our coalition assisted Maryland with their victory with Jessica’s Law this year. We have been honored by several known publications that have run various editorials and articles about our fight for Jessica’s Law for North Carolina.

One of our distinguish colleagues is Mrs. Janet Morrison, President Child Protection Coalition of North Carolina. She has been traveling the state of North Carolina speaking to groups about sex offenders and lax laws that North Carolina has. In her endeavors, she has been stonewalled by the lack of support from various state officials. Mrs. Morrison has been one of us on the battle lines help make Jessica’s Law a reality for North Carolina. She has helped make the following list possible and we are truly grateful.

NC Conservative Leadership Conference

Yes, in just 6 days the North Carolina Conservative Leadership Conference begins (at 10:45am). Yes, there's still time to register! This conference will feature quite a lineup of various conservatives (and some not-so conservative).

Long-time readers may recall that Ogre did some live blogging of this event last year (scroll down quite a bit, then you'll find a big block of stuff from there). And yes, I'll be live blogging again, starting that morning. The first big event is Friday's Lunch with Rudy Giuliani. I'll be sort-of living blogging that one.

You see, last year I didn't "live" blog the events in the big room -- I just though that it would be darn rude to be typing while people were talking. Instead, I took lots of pictures and notes, then wrote up what happened immediately afterwards. I'm as yet undecided how to do it his year. Either way, you can be sure by early Friday afternoon right here you'll get a full report on the reception Mr. Giuliani gets from the largest gathering of conservatives in North Carolina.

Alberto Gonzales Circus

Other than the total entertainment value, I really do like when Democrats do stupid things like have hearings regarding members of President's Bush staff. You see, as long as they're wasting time with such political posturing and trying to generate talking points for the far left, they're not passing laws that take away more of my money and rights.

The whole concept of these hearings is a complete joke -- well, it would be if the Democrats didn't honestly believe they have the power to fire Mr. Gonzalez. You see, they don't, but they don't care. Just like they believe they have the power to direct the United States Military because, well, because they want to; they think they have the power to fire Mr. Gonzalez. I'd love to see them make the decision from the committee. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all to later on find out that the Senate had passed a "non-binding resolution of un-support of Gonzalez."

But it's all PURE politics with zero meaning. Of course, that's how the Democrats actually define themselves -- feelings and politics are MUCH more important than actual facts and ideas.

Chuckie Schumer, a vocal critic of freedom and America for decades, stayed true to his insane liberal roots and quest for power. He claimed that since Gonzalez didn't answer any questions that provided them any evidence of ANY wrongdoing, that showed the need to basically subpoena Bush and attempt to bring him before King Schumer's committee. I'd love to see that move.

Patrick Leahy (looney Party, VT) was "not satisfied" with Gonzalez' answers. The only reason is because Pat wanted Gonzalez to blame Bush for everything, just like Pat does all the time. He was disappointed that the Senate committee could not turn Gonzalez over to their side (against Bush and America). I think Pat figured that since Gonzalez was a lawyer that he was a Democrat and would roll over for the committee.

Sen. Arlen Specter (Stupid Party, PA), as usual, played the "I'm in the middle of the road like a deer in the headlights" card by claiming that it wasn't his decision whether Gonzalez should be fired. Well at least one of the morons on that committee understands that -- I don't think any other members do. Of course, at the same time, Specter criticized Gonzalez and basically called him a liar.

Sen Lindsey Graham (Flounderer, SC) claimed that it was clear to him that there were personality conflicts with the fired attorneys. Of course, that has nothing to do with anything, but that's Lindsey Graham for you. I'm still not sure he realizes that he actually won the election and since McCain wasn't standing next to him, whispering in his ear, he really didn't know what to say, but he felt he had to say something. You know that old saying about "It is better to remain silent and feel a fool..."

Sen Jeff Sessions (Confused, AL) mumbled something about wanting to have the ink dry on a hearing before they had another vote about a hearing in which to fire the Attorney General before they had to determine if they had the power to dry ink in regarding to Presidential staff because the Justice Department needs a vigorous leader. And he thought that Gonzalez should think about if he should resign because he should if there's some reason for him to. I'm not touching that one.

Mitt Romney (Whatever You Want To Hear Party, Candidate 200 said that the Attorney General should not step down unless he's done something wrong which Romney didn't know -- but wasn't afraid to comment before he had read the transcript of the circus hearings on Thursday.

Sen. Tom Coburn (Who Knows?, OK) called for Gonzalez to resign because someone, somewhere, at some point in time may have once done something wrong. And that was reason enough for him.

Did I mention what a total circus this was? Again, the ONLY purpose for these hearings IS the Democrat Party platform -- and has been for at least 6 years: attack Bush and anyone associated with Bush with any means possible. As long as you slimeballs keep your hand out of my wallet, you hold as many circus hearings as you want.

What is this thing you call "pill-oh?" Do you mean those things that artificially bend your neck into a weird, abnormal angle so that when you sleep you wake up with back and neck pain? Yeah, I don't have any use for those silly things.

What? These questions get stranger and stranger every week. "Surfing" is a water sport where people ride on boards on top of the water. The Net is "a term in alchemy for a copper-antimony alloy." So, to "surf" this sort of substance, let's see... the melting point of copper is 1984.32 °F, while the melting point of antimony is 1167.13 °F. So in order to get an alloy that consists of the two of them to melt enough to surf on it, you're going to need temperatures around 2000 °F. Someone want to tell me what the board's going to have to be made of to ensure it doesn't ignite?
Main Course: What’s the highest you remember your temperature being?

I don't pay attention. And I'm betting no one else can really answer this one, either. You see, one of the signs of a high fever is delirium. The higher the temperature, the more wacked-out your brain gets. So even if people did tell me, I wouldn't know, much less remember. And I really don't care. If the doctor takes my temperature and tells me what it is, it doesn't matter -- I just listen to the part about what to DO about it...

Felonious Food

Did you know that food can get you jailed? I only wish I were kidding. No, today's politically correct society now has devolved to the point where you can absolutely be jailed if you THINK politically incorrect. And I'm not talking left-wing wacko Bill Maher "politically incorrect" -- which is actually VERY politically correct. I'm talking first-amendment freedom of speech politically incorrect.

Two incidents this week that I'm aware of that should be absolutely disgusting to anyone who actually likes freedom. And no, I'm not holding my breath for that communist bastion of protectors of free speech that only they like, the ACLU, to join in and attempt to defend this freedom of speech.

The first is in so far left they wouldn't know freedom if it spanked them on their gay rear-ends California -- San Mateo, specifically. Are you ready for this great use of your tax dollars to openly oppress freedom of speech? How about this quote:

Chief Deputy District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe says, “We definitely think this is a hate crime,” he said. “This one is pretty offensive.”

To what is he referring?
Pacifica police reported finding asparagus in Adler’s purse at the time of arrest.

Yes, Virginia, there really are vegetable police in San Mateo, CA. Don't you feel safer? And the police didn't find just any vegetable in the evil offender's purse - they found the most evil of all vegetables, the preferred vegetable weapon of hate groups worldwide -- the asparagus! It is rumored that the city council is considering registering and tracking all asparagus, if they can't get away with an outright ban of the evil vegetable in city limits.

But Tiffany Adler is likely going to have to go to jail. Why? Because she dared to speak a word and she was carrying asparagus. The word? Well, I'm sure not if I'm allowed to type the word. I mean, people in San Mateo may read this post and get offended and send the police to search my house and blog for vegetables as well. In fact, the San Mateo Daily Journal actually went and printed the offensive word. Someone call the police and have the editor arrested!

Worse, to show how far this absolutely insane crushing of freedom has gone, the people who were offended are claiming they are gay -- without any proof. And the assailant claims she didn't know they were gay. So that's justice today -- zero proof is required for any claims. The police are allowed to read the minds of any offender they don't like; and they're allowed to accept "sexual orientation" with zero evidence. That's not justice, that's open Nazism with protected, superior, individuals and speech codes. In this travesty of justice system, there is literally no chance of defense against a so-called "hate-crime" -- you are automatically guilty -- it's literally impossible to provide any defense against these sorts of punishments. That shouldn't happen in America.

Second is the food that's even more dangerous than the evil asparagus -- the HAM SANDWICH! Yes, folks, the most offensive food in the world still roams free without and licensing or registration requirements. I'm not sure how this evil piece of meat has been allowed to continue to fester and attack people around this country. Democrats on Capital Hill are likely preparing ham bans as you read this.

This event happened in Lewiston, Maine -- and it's much worse than the San Mateo "asparagus attack." According to published police reports, an unattended ham sandwich was found at Lewiston Middle School. Oh, the horror! Lewiston has requested hundreds of grief counselors to calm their students. The school district is evaluating it's potential liability exposure to lawsuits from those who might have been offended by the unattended sandwich.

However, exposure was limited by a quick-thinking student because the sandwich was in a bag. A student was suspended for leaving the sandwich unattended. And to ensure that no other sandwiches ever are left unattended for a period of more than a few seconds, "The center for the Prevention of Hate Violence is working with the school to devise a response plan."

Again, I only WISH I were making this up. Your tax dollars REALLY are being spend to devise a "response plan" for when students might leave a sandwich unattended on a table while they go to the trash or to get another helping of government cheese. And yes, this is "being investigated as a hate crime."

Remember this if you have an unattended sandwich in your kitchen -- you may be committing a hate crime, even if you are unaware of it. My advice to you, especially if you happen to live in Maine -- do not leave your sandwich unattended for even one second -- you literally might go to jail for it.

Welcome to America, 2007. We had freedom once. You'll have quite the hard time convincing me of that now.

King of North Carolina Demands More

You may not be aware of this, but North Carolina does have a self-appointed king. And yes, he has peons that bow to his every word; and he has enforcers who will do his bidding and enforce his edicts. He has declared himself lawmaker, decider of laws, determiner of all spending, and will sit in judgment of enforcement. Yes, I'm aware that under the Constitution, those jobs are delegated to different branches of government. But in North Carolina, things that get in the way of kings, like Constitutions, are just ignored.

Of course, I'm talking about the Education King, Judge Manning. Years ago, Manning decided that he wanted to decide how much money should be spent on education (despite the fact that the legislature is supposed to decide on spending) and that he would enforce his decisions (despite the fact that the executive branch is tasked with that job). And since he supports more and bigger government, the Democrat-controlled legislature does not care.

Manning is again in the news. Once again, he is complaining that schools are not "doing enough" to satisfy him, personally. Of course what's implied is that the schools simply expand and spend more money.

The King actually went and visited a few schools to see if they met his royal requirements. They did not. Therefore, he's sending his lackeys out to enforce his edicts -- no matter what the duly elected legislatures want. In a Constitutional Republic, the judge is supposed to interpret laws, not determine or dictate spending. If we had legislators who wanted a Republic and freedom, they openly defy this self-appointed king and see what would happen. Yes, legislatures ARE allowed to ignore judges -- that's how checks and balances work. Then, when the king made a new ruling trying to punish the legislatures, the executive branch would get to decide who they wanted to side with -- and they'd be allowed to either ignore the judge or support him. See? Checks and balances.

Instead, what we have with education in North Carolina is rulership by one. This self-appointed king literally is making decisions on spending, rulings, and enforcement of his own rulings. That's a dictatorship, no matter what you think. Welcome to Democrat rule in North Carolina.

COLLIER COUNTY:

A Collier County man who hands out bibles to Collier County high school students is under fire by the American Civil Liberties Union. Officials with the ACLU spent Monday night talking to Collier County democrats about the issue.

People on one side of the argument say it's not a separation of church and state issue while the other side says it is in fact a perfect example and neither side is backing down.

The debate begins with bibles handed out by Jerry Rutherford to Collier County high school students. He says there's no harm in what he's doing.

"This is not a church and state issue. It's a free speech issue," said Rutherford.

But the ACLU says the separation of church and state is exactly the issue.

"There is a time to speak you religious beliefs and that is in your church. *But the public education is not the forum for bible distribution," said ACLU Attorney Yale Freeman.

Typical ACLU position in their ongoing attempt to remove Christianity from the public sphere, and contain it to a more localised, segregated place in society.

Yeah, I've heard all the left's defense of the ACLU, saying that the ACLU has defended Christians in the past. Small cases that didn't amount to much of anything other than PR and to give the appearance of equal treatment. If Labor Unions represented their members in the same manner, members and liberals would be going ballistic.

The Founders that gave us the First Amendment is also the same that sanctioned the "Aitken's Bible" and permitted its' printing under the authority of Congress.

In front of the Collier County democrats, Freeman said the county shouldn't overlook this incident.

"If we had one religion, one voice saying this is the religion we must practice, we would have a very different society today," said Freeman.

Freeman says handing out bibles is no different than colleges handing out literature and military branches handing out literature in high schools. He says that's all the same thing.

But for Roger Brown, President of the American Foundation for Separation of Church and State, that comparison is nowhere near the same.

"They're passing out non-religious material they not trying to recruit students to come to their church," said Brown.

Brown sited a court case that allows bibles to be handed out in schools as to why he should also be allowed. He added the students seemed to want the bibles.

"The reason is the students wanted them. Had they not wanted them, they wouldn't have picked them up and taken off with them," said Rutherford.

But in a letter written to Freeman by a school board attorney, the attorney states that Rutherford and his attorney have been advised that they are not permitted to continue handing out bibles. The letter also stated that district high school principals have been advised not to allow distribution at the building level.

But Rutherford isn't backing down until the court case is overturned.

"Until then, we will continue giving out bibles in schools," said Rutherford.

The ACLU isn't backing down either. They will continue to monitor the incident and push so that it does not happen again.

I was reading a generally libertarian leaning forum the other day when I happened upon a poll. Yes, I understand this is an internet poll and it's mostly libertarians that were responding to the poll -- but still the results seemed rather odd to me. The poll question was:

Are Faith-Based Religions Needed Anymore?

Straightforward question, but without defining "need," you could go lots of ways with this one. The author of the poll did, giving you the following options as answers:
Yes, faith-based religions have uses that are applicable to modern society (and can be mostly helpful to the cause of liberty)

Yes, faith-based religions have uses that are applicable to modern society (but can be mostly destructive to the cause of liberty)

No, faith based religions are outdated and not needed in an age of science and reason (and can be mostly destructive to the cause of liberty)

No, faith based religions are outdated and not needed in an age of science and reason (but can be mostly helpful to the cause of liberty)


Now the answer options themselves seemed to show a very strong bias in the poll-writer's mind. I might note it's the same bias that seems to pervade much of society today, even showing up in things like Sid Meier's Civilization game -- that science is superior to religion.

I certainly know and understand science and their feelings on religion. Many scientists today honestly believe that they are God. They do not believe in anything they cannot see and touch with their own hands. They believe that they can define the entire world around us and that anyone who dares to disagree with them is just a simpleton and a moron. I just don't understand why more people don't simply point out the Flat-Earth scientists to quickly dispel any rumors that science is utterly infallible -- as they seem to think. But that's not my point of this post.

Instead, I looked at the results of the poll. Again, there's only a few people who have answered it, and most self-identify as libertarians, anarchists, or at the least, people who support freedom. The #1 selected answer, with just short of 60% of the people favoring it, was "No, faith based religions are outdated and not needed in an age of science and reason (and can be mostly destructive to the cause of liberty)."

I'm rather surprised. I could understand many of this type of person who selected the last option (that religion was not needed, but can help liberty), but I did not expect that option. I think that viewpoint of many in the libertarian movement is one reason the movement is not making any progress these days. Most libertarians appear to be taking the position that not only is religion nothing but stupid people who are too dumb to comprehend science, but they're also people who don't like freedom! They couldn't be more wrong.

The author of the poll uses rather strange logic to claim that religions aren't needed any more. He basically says that since all religions conflict with one another that they're all wrong. And he makes today's current moral equivalence argument to claim that the teachings of Jesus Christ are identical to legends of the earth being carried on a turtle's back. The author is clearly VERY closed-minded on such things and will not soon be convinced to open his mind to other possibilities.

Next, the author declares that all religion is destructive to freedom because Jewish law is strict and the Catholic church once defended the divine right of kings. Then he really goes off the deep end:

Think about the mindset of religious people. Most Christians and Muslims believe if you don't follow their religion or their morality that you will burn in hell for eternity or a long time. It would be rather selfish to not force your fellow man to follow "God's laws", wouldn't it?

Did anyone else notice that GIANT leap of faith he took there (despite him hating any sort of faith in a previous paragraph)? He went from having the mindset of one religious person following God's commands to that person forcing others to follow God's commands. I don't know a single Christian that wants to force anyone else to follow God's commands. Of course, I cannot say the same for the Muslim religion.

Again, the author makes another huge leap that simply does not make sense:

The whole idea of faith is anti-liberty to begin with. Faith is a very statist concept. Most people have faith in their politicians and look what that has done!

WHAT? Apparently, in this writer's mind, having faith in God and having faith in a lying politician are equal. Well maybe that's why the author of this poll doesn't understand religion and doesn't understand faith. I have faith in God, but I don't trust my elected officials as far as I can throw them!

Next, the author misunderstands history:

Yes, we had more freedom in the past. But we have less now because of the removal of religion, rather than because of it. As a long I like once said, "Chewing gum and talking used to be the biggest problems we had in schools. Now that we've taken the Bible out, murder and pregnancy are rampant."

Throughout the thread for the poll, there are various statements, of course, bashing Christianity. Some even call for violence against "this God, if it exists." Certainly there is a great deal of open hostility towards Christianity (though strangely none towards Islam) -- while at the same time, most posts have a general thought of "Well, other people can do what they want, I won't tell them what to believe, but they're all stupid idiot morons that better not tell me what to do or I'll kill them."

But I simply do not understand the mindset that claims that religion is dangerous to liberty -- especially the dominant religion of the US, Christianity. Sure, Islam is dangerous to liberty, because the religion openly wants to destroy freedom. The positions of Islam don't say, "let people alone," it says, "force people to do these things or kill them." But that's not in the Bible.

The Bible gives rules and directions to people -- but it does not say that anyone should force anyone else to do anything. This country really was founded on Christianity, no matter what you've been told in the government-run schools. Look at the darn Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. --That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Endowed by their Creator. That's not anti-religion. That's certainly "faith." But this document CLEARLY outlines that people should be FREE. They should have liberty -- BECAUSE of their creator.

Christians still make up a large portion of this country. Libertarians, by alienating them, are making a horrible mistake. Are there Christians who are statists? Most certainly. Is the religion overall destructive to liberty? Not only is it not destructive, it's conducive. The religion of Christianity talks about people being responsible for their own actions -- a thorn in the side to liberals and big-government supporters.

Some will talk about the Jerry Falwell-types who try to get government to pass laws regarding pornography, gambling, abortion, and gay marriage. All of those are issues that can be discussed in different terms. What's the freedom-based position? The position that generates the most freedom -- which is often one that protects some people from others. I'm not going to go into each of the issues above, but in most cases, the religious position is about protecting the innocent, rather than interfering with freedom.

I'm sorry, but those of you who think the spread of Christianity will reduce liberty and freedom simply do not understand much about the religion itself -- and that is hurting the cause of liberty.

Jessica’s Law and North Carolina General Assembly

Last year, Representative Howard (R) brought the same basic bill and could not get it heard or out of committee, due to Representative Jennifer Weiss (Dem) and Former House Speaker Jim Black blockage.

Representative Tim Moore (R) introduced HB 933/ Jessica Lunsford Act for North Carolina this year. Presently, HB 933 / Jessica Lunsford Act for North Carolina is Re-ref to the Com on Judiciary II and, if favorable, to the Com on Appropriations. There is still opposition to this bill from various committee members, as well as members of the North Carolina General Assembly. It seems that a few members of our legislate feel, that the cost of this bill, is too much. It is apparent money is more important than, the worth our children’s future and wellbeing.

The cost of Law Enforcement, GPS Tracking, Courts and Prisons are too much for the state budget. We say, “Cut the fat! Rather spend on pet projects and guilt trips (Apologies for Slavery, Smoking Bans, Trans Fat Bans, etc.) focus!” The excuses coming from our representatives are pathetic rather than looking at facts; they rather tell you why they cannot do something. However, they certainly can find the time and funding for other things. Presently our state lawmakers are inconclusive towards Jessica's Law. If our lawmakers would take the following steps, it would be a step in right direction.

North Carolina Lawmakers need to take a stand and apply the needed differences to have Jessica’s Law fully inducted.

North Carolina Lawmakers should take advantage of the Adam Walsh Act and use the monetary bonus payment available to those states complying with the act sooner than its three-year timeline. Rather than a 10 percent reduction in Justice Assistance Grants and certain reductions of Sex Offender Management Assistance Program monies for those states that do not comply with Adam Walsh Act.

If our state leaders would take care of business, rather than trying to be Political Correct, things would be different. Our leaders are too busy worrying about slavery from 200 years ago or banning smoking. What is wrong with this picture? How about worrying about our children’s future rather than the past? What a lack of common sense!

Free Beer

Someone needs to let That 1 Guy know that you can get free beer in Wisconsin now.

I expect maps and detailed directions from him soon that will outline how to maximize your free beer drinking experience since each store can only give you 1/2 a beer. And I bet Contagion might go along as well, to continue his samplings -- but I'm not sure that only half a beer will be enough for the acid-spitting superhero to effectively review each beer...

Cho Seung-Hui

As I'm sure most of my good readers know by now, Cho Seung-Hui is the evil, horrible, violent mass murderer that viciously slaughtered so many innocent students at Virginia Tech a couple days ago. However, you might not know that if you read the current news reports about him.

He was "depressed." Cho had paranoid schizophrenia. He is "the shooter." His family was poor. He was lonely. He was the lonliest person in the world. He is "the gunman." CBS even calls him "the suspected gunman." He felt persecuted. He was misunderstood. "We now know this quiet loner was sending troubled signals all along." He is "the bespectacled young South Korean citizen." "Nobody understood him."

Folks, here's the part that the media and the liberals do not understand. HE WAS EVIL. There, I said it. All of these people, the liberals and their thought process, simply cannot comprehend it. Their worldview is that everyone is perfect and good. Therefore, they are searching for someone, or something, to blame this on.

I've seen lots blame guns, Bush, Charlton Heston, the school, the teachers, the police, the college president, video games, and on and on. But I don't see anyone noticing that CHO SEUNG-HUI pulled the trigger -- over and over again.

There IS evil in this world. If you can understand that, this will make sense. Cho Seung-Hui was EVIL. He was a terrible mass murderer. No, I don't really care if he was a nice guy in first grade. It doesn't matter that his family wasn't the richest in the world. HE WAS EVIL. He made a choice, and he chose evil. There is no one to blame but him -- so stop trying to make him into a victim. HE is the mass murderer. HE is the one who carefully planned how to execute dozens of innocent people. HE is the one to blame, and nothing else about his life really matters.

Stop trying to be nice about this fellow. He's not the victim, the other 31 people are.

Where Was God?

A few people are asking, but it seems not very many this time. It is certainly a common theme -- asking where the kind, benevolent God of Christians was when such events happen. I do find it rather disturbing that fewer and fewer are even asking this question when such horrible events unfold.

Why don't more people ask, "Where was God?" Maybe because in this country today, that's simply not an acceptable question to even ask. Maybe because since Christians are so openly hated and derided by the media that even the media doesn't want to talk and ask those questions any more. Or perhaps the godless media, now so removed from a once-great, Christian-based country does not even care any more where they might find God.

Of course, if you look towards the campus and it's position, it's clear where God was and is in relation to the campus: not allowed. When the campus decided to have a party pep rally convocation celebrating remembering about the victims, did you notice who they asked to speak first? A Muslim cleric who talked about Allah.

Then they had a Buddhist person come up and declare that all people are good, no matter what Christians say. Next they had a Jewish person come and tell people that "there is a time for everything." Finally, there was a Liberal Lutheran who talked about healing. So the college asked Allah and Buddha to join them, but didn't want God or Jesus Christ there. Heck, the fact that they even invited all those different viewpoints suggests that they're all equal, and none is any better than the other. This is political correctness run amok, despite it's clear conflict with reality!

So where was God? He was watching and hoping someone would invite him to come join them. That's the same place he is now, hoping that people will ask him to come into their lives and help them heal. He's glad to do it, if people would only ask.

Apology: Only Step 1

The North Carolina Legislature, in true liberal stupid form, recently apologized for something that none of them did; to people who had nothing done to them. Yes, it was the stupid liberal trend sweeping the nation: apologizing for slavery -- even though NONE of the current legislators owned slaves, and there's no living people in the state who ever were actually slaves. But style is always more important than substance in the liberal world.

Oh, but that's not good enough. The racist blacks (again, these are the racist bastards who continue to judge and see people ONLY by the color of their skin), like Senator Malcolm Graham, wants MORE racism. He wants to judge MORE people by the color of their skin. He wants to PUNISH people who have a certain skin color and reward some with a different skin color -- oh, and he wants the government, with their monopoly on force and utterly unlimited funds via taxation, to do it.

He and other racists like Representative Earline Parmon DEMAND piles of free cash be taken from white people and given to black people. How in the hell can anyone NOT call these bastards racists? SENATOR MALCOLM GRAHAM IS A RACIST. REPRESENTATIVE EARLINE PARMON IS A RACIST. And of course, they're both registered Democrats.

They want free cash to be taken by force from white people and given to black people at "historically black" colleges. They want the government to use their guns to take money from people with white skin and spend it on government contracts awarded by skin color instead of ability to actually do a job. They want to steal money that white people work for to build a new city for blacks where the 1898 race riots happened in Wilmington (NOTE: Those race riots were WHITE DEMOCRATS who attacked and killed BLACK REPUBLICANS).

These people are nothing more than slimy racists. And yes, I'll call them that to their face, because they're trying to destroy this once-great country by using government to punish people SOLELY based on the color of their skin. That's plain wrong, even if you are a Democrat.

Live Free or Die

"Live Free or Die."

Are you offended? Apparently Jack Polidoro of the Union Leader is very offended. And yes, Jack is a socialist moron. Mr. Polidoro is also VERY uninformed about the government of this country and it's history.

"Live Free or Die" is the motto of the state of New Hampshire. Mr. Polidoro suggests that it be changed because he's offended. He wants it changed to either "Live, freeze or die" or "Seatbelts save lives." And yes, I checked the date on the editorial, and it's not April 1st. This guy is really serious.

I could completely blast the total stupidity of this editorial, but Bruce at No Looking Backwards has done an excellent job of it already. Go take a peek and see.

And one other note -- stop looking for someone to blame. Look, the ONLY person to blame is burning in hell right now. It's not the fault of the police, or the university, or the NRA, or Bush. It's the bastard who pulled the damn trigger. I really wish the press would SHUT UP about trying to blame someone or claim that someone "should have done something different."

Same with the "What can we do to prevent this in the future?" question from the press. SHUT UP. There's ONE way to prevent this, and one way alone: don't have colleges. People have been killing others since there have been people -- you simply cannot stop it. Stop trying to claim you can. Heck, local colleges here have instituted "increased security" to prevent this -- like checking IDs of everyone on campus. That would have had NO EFFECT. SHUT UP you people looking for answers -- they're not coming.

NC Legislature AWOL

The Democrats that run the North Carolina Legislature appear to be ready to jump on board the stupid ship with dozens of other states that are too dumb to use common sense. Yes, I know since they're government, that's what they do. It's the herd mentality, and it's literally killing people. This time it's regarding the dreaded AWOL device, or "Alcohol Without Liquid."

Wacko Democrat Pryor Gibson filed House Bill 267; and he even managed to find a few others that want to jump on the stupid ship with him (co-sponsors). And yes, the whole stupid herd (the NC House) agreed, and passed this bill. So, let's look at the "problem."

Is it legal to consume alcohol in North Carolina? Well, just barely. They do make it very difficult and very expensive. But it's not illegal, despite the rather severe amount of bad health side effects. Certainly, it's especially bad for children to consume alcohol. I don't think it's any of the state's business what MY children do, but that's another issue.

So what if someone were to discover a way that people could consume alcohol, but that would reduce or eliminate many of the bad health side effects? Wouldn't that be "good" for the state? Wouldn't that reduce people's use of the state health facilities? Wouldn't that increase the economy (no more calling in sick with a hangover)?

And what if that way were made a bit expensive -- so that kids would be highly unlikely to be able to afford such a device? And what if that device, when used, would actually slow down alcohol consumption? Wouldn't that reduce alcohol-related problems?

Well, there is such a device, EXACTLY as I have described. So what do the North Carolina Democrats want to do? They want to ban that device in the state. Seriously. Why? Because all the other cool Democrat states are doing it.

Complete and total insanity.

So, get your device while you can, because it will soon be illegal to consume alcohol in a way that will actually reduce the calories and eliminate the hangover.

You tell me which is better -- a kid drinking 10 shots in 5 minutes so they die at a college frat party, or a kid who gets one of these devices (they're $300 each!) and tries to "drink" 10 shots -- and it takes him over 3 hours to take in that much.

Stupid, stupid Democrats.
