King of North Carolina Demands More
You may not be aware of this, but North Carolina does have a self-appointed king. And yes, he has peons that bow to his every word; and he has enforcers who will do his bidding and enforce his edicts. He has declared himself lawmaker, decider of laws, determiner of all spending, and will sit in judgment of enforcement. Yes, I'm aware that under the Constitution, those jobs are delegated to different branches of government. But in North Carolina, things that get in the way of kings, like Constitutions, are just ignored.
Of course, I'm talking about the Education King, Judge Manning. Years ago, Manning decided that he wanted to decide how much money should be spent on education (despite the fact that the legislature is supposed to decide on spending) and that he would enforce his decisions (despite the fact that the executive branch is tasked with that job). And since he supports more and bigger government, the Democrat-controlled legislature does not care. Manning is again in the news. Once again, he is complaining that schools are not "doing enough" to satisfy him, personally. Of course what's implied is that the schools simply expand and spend more money. The King actually went and visited a few schools to see if they met his royal requirements. They did not. Therefore, he's sending his lackeys out to enforce his edicts -- no matter what the duly elected legislatures want. In a Constitutional Republic, the judge is supposed to interpret laws, not determine or dictate spending. If we had legislators who wanted a Republic and freedom, they openly defy this self-appointed king and see what would happen. Yes, legislatures ARE allowed to ignore judges -- that's how checks and balances work. Then, when the king made a new ruling trying to punish the legislatures, the executive branch would get to decide who they wanted to side with -- and they'd be allowed to either ignore the judge or support him. See? Checks and balances. Instead, what we have with education in North Carolina is rulership by one. This self-appointed king literally is making decisions on spending, rulings, and enforcement of his own rulings. That's a dictatorship, no matter what you think. Welcome to Democrat rule in North Carolina.
