NC Legislature AWOL

The Democrats that run the North Carolina Legislature appear to be ready to jump on board the stupid ship with dozens of other states that are too dumb to use common sense. Yes, I know since they're government, that's what they do. It's the herd mentality, and it's literally killing people. This time it's regarding the dreaded AWOL device, or "Alcohol Without Liquid."

Wacko Democrat Pryor Gibson filed House Bill 267; and he even managed to find a few others that want to jump on the stupid ship with him (co-sponsors). And yes, the whole stupid herd (the NC House) agreed, and passed this bill. So, let's look at the "problem."

Is it legal to consume alcohol in North Carolina? Well, just barely. They do make it very difficult and very expensive. But it's not illegal, despite the rather severe amount of bad health side effects. Certainly, it's especially bad for children to consume alcohol. I don't think it's any of the state's business what MY children do, but that's another issue.

So what if someone were to discover a way that people could consume alcohol, but that would reduce or eliminate many of the bad health side effects? Wouldn't that be "good" for the state? Wouldn't that reduce people's use of the state health facilities? Wouldn't that increase the economy (no more calling in sick with a hangover)?

And what if that way were made a bit expensive -- so that kids would be highly unlikely to be able to afford such a device? And what if that device, when used, would actually slow down alcohol consumption? Wouldn't that reduce alcohol-related problems?

Well, there is such a device, EXACTLY as I have described. So what do the North Carolina Democrats want to do? They want to ban that device in the state. Seriously. Why? Because all the other cool Democrat states are doing it.

Complete and total insanity.

So, get your device while you can, because it will soon be illegal to consume alcohol in a way that will actually reduce the calories and eliminate the hangover.

You tell me which is better -- a kid drinking 10 shots in 5 minutes so they die at a college frat party, or a kid who gets one of these devices (they're $300 each!) and tries to "drink" 10 shots -- and it takes him over 3 hours to take in that much.

Stupid, stupid Democrats.
