Global Warming and You

Look, there are various things in the world that require belief. There are dozens and dozens of things that you simply cannot, and will not, ever prove beyond any doubt. Heck, if you accept the left's worldview, you can't even prove that 1+1 = 2! Man-made global warming is one of those things.

There are hundreds of scientists (and capitalists who want to make money) who absolutely swear that all warming of the globe is man-made. They have charts and graphs and twenty seven eight-by-ten color glossy photographs with circles
and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was to be used as evidence. That's fine.

At the same time, there are hundreds other scientists who absolutely swear that all warming of the globe is a natural process. THEY have charts and graphs and twenty seven eight-by-ten color glossy photographs with circles
and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each
one was to be used as evidence. That's fine, too.

But where it really starts mattering to me, and to you if you are a productive member of society, is when people start forcing me to do things based on their beliefs. Look, if you think there's global warming and want to buy a green car, GO AHEAD. But don't tell me that I have to. Stop trying to take my money in the name of your belief system.

Can anyone explain to me the difference between global warming people demanding my money and me demanding everyone else give to the church of my choice? I'll come up with all sort of evidence of my religion. I"ll find a bunch of scientists who will provide evidence, too. Then will it be okay for me to take your money away from you for my personal use? I'll say it's for the children, too.

In a free country, you are entitled to whatever beliefs you want. When you start forcing me to accept and PAY FOR your beliefs using the government as a weapon against me, that's when we start to have problems. Go ahead, you can do anything YOU want about man-made global warming. Just stop trying to take my money and my freedom to do it.

Idaho Judges' Intelligence

Wow. All I can say is "Wow."

This story hasn't really been big news, but it should be absolutely HUGE. In case you're too lazy to follow the link, here's a tiny, brief summary: Those who are running to be on the SUPREME COURT in Idaho either have zero knowledge of the Idaho Constitution; or they will absolutely refuse to admit that it exists. There is no other possible explanation.

How can this not be giant news? Seriously, this should rate top ranking headlines across the nation. This country is supposed to be built upon a system of government that requires checks and balances -- and the Supreme Court of Idaho is going to completely ignore that entire system of government!

Unfortunately, this is what the judicial system has really become in America -- a ruling class, all it's own, that follows it's own rules whenever it wants to. Judges are supposed to ONLY determine if laws agree or disagree with the Constitution -- but the Supreme Court in Idaho isn't going to do that. Instead, they are just going to, quite literally, do anything they want. After all, they don't have to answer to anyone.

Perhaps it's time to abolish the current form of government -- a cross between communism and an oligarchy -- and start a new government. I've heard representative republics can work well for freedom -- at least for a little while.

Let's Make a Deal

A guest editorial by Mark A Palmer & Sherman Peabody:

Let’s Make A Deal No Matter the Cost

The Name of Charlotte has become, “Lets Make A Deal No Matter the Cost.” On Monday, May 14, 2007, the Charlotte City Council gathers for another episode of whoring out Queen Charlotte. This time it was for a land swap to accommodate a baseball stadium for uptown Charlotte.

The vote was 8-3 in favor of this deal and the usual casts of characters were on boad to help facilitate the wishes of uptown crowd no matter what. The only Council members that showed any backbone was Don Lochman, Patsey Kinsey and Nancy Carter. Why officials put their eggs in one costly basket of failing projects, is their Cinderella dream. The reaccuring theme, is major cost over runs and the decimation of Charlotte’s welfare and the people's well-being.

Our city is going down the tubes in favor of development once again. Our city and county officials turn their backs on the core responsibilities of government. Instead, our city and county officials will not be satisfied until charlotte has become the Ecumenopolis, like the fictional world of Coruscant.

Downtown development, along with the rail projects are to helping to push out the "undesirables of the city" and make way for a more desirable trendy crowd. This has been one of the main goals from the start. CATS even stated in their plans that various neighborhoods and areas of Charlotte could be weeded out, thus pushing out the undesirable factions they name. By tearing down and building more costly structures, helps push out the poor and "limits" city’s crime, according to some people's thinking.

Again, our core services are as beggars in street, when it comes to funding. What is wrong with this picture? Our city councilmember’s rather point fingers at the state legislators, than look in their backyard. It does not matter that our police department needs funding help deal with Charlotte’s crime problems, such a more officers, police cars and under covers agents. Our city has made it clear we do not have the budget and was quickly to blame somebody else. Interesting, they will come up with million of dollars for horses, than take a bite out of crime where it counts.

Charlotte city council still has not learned when it comes to their many costly mistakes.

Like the arena, the taxpayers are obligated help pay traffic control for the Knights. This time, city has agreed to pay $52,500 and the Knights will pay $157,500, for a total cost of $210,000 a year. Now, if you add the basic yearly cost for the arena of traffic control, which Charlotte taxpayers pay close to a million year this does not include other yearly cost as; cones and employee to staff, a cab lane at arena events, CATS service CIAA games and CATS service after Bobcat games. This goes to show us that our city officials do not care about the citizens of Charlotte. Because if they did our city would not be in the mess, it’s in and they would not continually make these types of bad business decisions.

Charlotte lawyer, Jerry Reese, spoke to city councilmember’s asking them not to agree to this deal for a land swap. Mr. Reese filed papers in Mecklenburg County Superior Court block a transfer of school headquarters to Mecklenburg County. Will the county take a stand and make this right or will they pimp out Queen Charlotte too? Only time will tell the story.

Republican Debate Response

(Manassas, Virginia) “If the Republican Party nominates Rudy Giuliani as its candidate for either president or vice president, I will personally work to defeat the GOP ticket in 2008,” says Richard A. Viguerie, author of Conservatives Betrayed: How George W. Bush and Other Big Government Republicans Hijacked the Conservative Cause.

“Rudy Giuliani is wrong on all of the social issues, is wrong on the Second Amendment, and is pretty much a blank slate on all other issues of importance to conservatives,” Viguerie adds. “If the Republican Party nominates him, it is saying to the American people that it has lost all purpose except the raw political desire to hold power. It will be time to put the GOP out of its misery.”

Viguerie made his comments in response to Tuesday night’s debate in South Carolina between the Republican presidential candidates.

“I continue to urge conservatives to withhold their support from all of the present candidates,” he said. “The leading candidates aren’t worthy of conservative support, and the few who are truly conservative don’t have a realistic chance of getting the nomination.”

“But Rudy Giuliani is a special case,” Viguerie continued. “In recent days, he has reaffirmed his long-standing support of abortion, and Politico.com has revealed his numerous contributions to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s biggest supplier of abortions. His comments in the debate did nothing to diminish his affront to those who believe in the culture of life.”

“It’s Rudy or the GOP,” Viguerie concluded. “We’re in a political version of ‘The Survivor,’ and both cannot survive politically.”

Interesting. I have to say, I'm having real trouble trying to support Rudy. In fact, I simply cannot support him in the primary at all. But I've said that if he wins the primary then I might have to hold my nose and vote for him in the general election. If it's Rudy vs. Hillary, I'm not sure I could live with myself knowing that I could have helped get Hillary elected. Then again, while Rudy's an improvement in some areas, he's really in disagreement with me in very critical areas. And with a Democrat Congress, he'll do lots of liberal, freedom-destroying things.

I just wish Tancredo had a better speaking voice and presence. He seemed confused a lot last night.

Religion of Peace

If you've been paying attention to the world, you realize that the religion of Islam is a religion of violence. Muslims are tasked with spreading their religion and killing anyone who will not convert. However, organizations with terrorist ties, such as CAIR, refuse to admit the truth. Many politically correct organizations support Islam and terrorism because they simply refuse to admit that the religion is used to kill and destroy. For those who continue to refuse to believe, a quick example:

In Egypt (not Iran, Iraq, or Afghanistan), Muslims attacked Christians and burned buildings. This is a normal action for Muslims whenever they are offended. 69 Christians were injured while Egyptian "police" stood by and watched.

So, what so offended 500 Muslims that they needed to attack and burn Christians? The Christians were planning to build a church. That's all. If you simply PLAN to build a Christian church in Egypt, the Muslims there may kill you. And somehow, that's not considered intolerant by the left in America.

Islam kills. I'm not asking you to agree with it, I'm just stating a fact -- no matter how much you might dislike it.

Congressional Approval Numbers

Have you seen the latest approval numbers for the Democrat Congress? I'm sure it's been all the headlines all over the country. What? You didn't see them? They are now LOWER than President Bush's numbers, surely that's news! Every time Bush's numbers drop by 1%, that's headlines, so surely a 4-point drop for Congress gets lots of attention, right?

In case you're counting, Congress' approval numbers are down to 29% while Bush remains steady at 33%. So you Democrats who are claiming that you represent "the will of the people" -- well, you're just plain wrong.

Charlotte Observer Lies

If you read the Charlotte Observer, you know they are the paper of record for the socialists who run North Carolina. They absolutely love anything that's associated with government and increasing or expanding government at quite literally any cost. And if that cost happens to be the truth, that doesn't matter -- as long as it expands their agenda and government control.

The Article appears in the "News" section of the paper -- but there's almost nothing in it that's news at all. Instead, it's mostly typical Observer cheerleading -- basically saying that anyone who opposes higher taxes and more government is a stupid moron and only the Observer is qualified to determine what should be done with your money because you're dumb. But this article goes further than the normal cheer leading by including outright lies:

The following letter is from Tom Ashcraft:

Dear Mr. Koconis:

The above column by you and its accompanying photographic depiction contain a factual falsehood. I’m part of the embryonic SCAT group, and I do not want “to kill the light rail line” along South Boulevard as you wrote. Obviously, with the money already spent, that line should be run; indeed, it was supposed to have opened months ago, but as with many things coming from CATS you can’t trust what they say.

Attached is the official report of cost overruns on the south corridor line, a disgrace by any measure. If the transit sales tax is not repealed this fall, there will be, in my opinion, many more cost overruns in the future.

The photo depiction with your column shows the south corridor line with a caption asserting, “The real aim of SCAT is to kill the light rail line.” As to the line shown, that’s a fabrication as far as this SCAT supporter is concerned. You and The Charlotte Observer owe your readers an apology and a correction. Will we get one?

Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

Sincerely, Tom

Waiting for a retraction? I wouldn't hold my breath.

Oh, and the cost estimates? Here's a summary:

Date/ Estimated Cost/ Estimated Completion Date:
July 1998/ $227 mil / None
Feb 2000/ $331 mil / Winter 2005
May 2003/ $370 mil / Spring 2006
Jan 2004/ $398 mil / Apr 2007
Jan 2005/ $426 mil / Aug 2007
Sep 2006/ $462 mil / Nov 2007

Go ahead, try and convince me there's anything government can do right.

John Edwards: Slimeball

GM Roper points out the latest actions by John Edwards that really are a new low in politics. I know, you've heard that before. Everyone claims that every election year is worse than the last. But this is really, really, low and disgusting. I will take personal offense and may be offended to the point of action should I personally witness anyone who agrees and stoops to these disgusting levels of vileness.

John Edwards wants people to take a day that has been set aside to honor the dead and use it to advance his own personal politics. This really is beyond disgusting. Go ahead, make your sign with your political message about "ending the war" and bring it to my Memorial Day celebration. That's absolutely beyond wrong.

Memorial Day is a day to honor those who have died trying to protect this nation and those who have died in the name of freedom. It is NOT a day to advance your personal political agenda. That's wrong and incredibly disrespectful. Those slimy, disgusting, irresponsible bastards have already listed a few places they want to "gather" to show their utter disrespect for the dead:

Hosted by Sandra Ackerman; Monday, May 28, 2007 12:00 Noon; corner of Main Street and Gregson; Durham NC 27006

Bastards, the lot of you. And shame on John Edwards for claiming to "lead" while being so despicable.

Brainwashed Fools

The government-run socialist school system continues to brainwash unsuspecting youth. Note this essay by Danielle England and Kori Nunes. They support complete removal of the Second Amendment. Why? Because they don't trust me. I guess since their god, the US government, claims I'm a terrorist, they believe their god and don't trust me. But they really think the world will be safer without guns. Guess they haven't heard about Japan. Good thing they don't have guns and are only beheading and dismembering people.

But this is a result of the government school system. The government run system is telling your children that all guns are bad all the time. They are being told that you cannot trust anyone with a gun because you will kill people. The government run system is pointing out and teaching this vulnerable kids that anyone with a gun, other than government agents, is a bad person. And the kids believe them.

Arm yourselves now, because when these kids get to voting age, they're going to do all they can to disarm you so that only the government will be armed. Of course, the kids are also not taught that every single time that has happened in all of human history, government then starts killing anyone they don't like.

And once again, government schools illustrate their utter worthlessness to a free country.

Government Accountability

The communist government of Charlotte, the Charlotte City Council, last night decided what they would permit to be built on certain land spaces. As part of the royal decrees, they would also give away lots of tax dollars to private companies because they want to.

Meanwhile, Jerry Reese has filed a lawsuit to stop the giveaways, claiming they are illegal. In that lawsuit, he points out that the original money used to pay for the land that's being given away very specifically stated that the land could NOT be used for a baseball stadium (really, it says those exact words).

What I'm wondering is how perpetual is government? That bond was passed in 2004. There have been elections since that time. So is government allowed to change it's mind once new people have been elected? That's what the lawsuit will help determine. If the lawsuit succeeds, then the judges will have decided that any government can overrule any previous government obligations and decisions. But if it fails, then the judges will have decided that any government is completely bound by any decisions of any previous elected officials. Interesting...

Charlotte Knights Baseball

Ah, a nice spring day in the 70s. Nothing but sun and clear Carolina Blue sky. Sounds like a good day to go watch some baseball!

The Knights (AAA affiliate of the White Sox) will be playing the Norfolk Tides (AAA affiliate of the Orioles) this afternoon, so I'm off to watch the game. It's the last game of a 4-game series and the Knights have won all of the first three games.

Yay, baseball!

Learning Fear

Isn't this nice? Trust your government and your government schools. Why?

It was a 5-minute learning experience.

We got together and discussed what we would have done in a real situation.

We can learn from this.

It will have a positive result of growth for all of us.

They're great teachers.

If (the assistant principal) loses his job, I will break into tears. He's the best assistant principal I've ever had.

Isn't that wonderful? Isn't it great how the teachers are teaching our children? Come on, everyone sing Kumbaya! Awwww....

Oh, but did you want to know what they were doing? Yes, the teachers and administrators were terrorizing the students. 69 sixth-graders were victims of terrorism. They trusted their teachers and the teachers lied to them in order to "teach" the students how to be scared witless.

The children were in that room in the dark, begging for their lives, because they thought there was someone with a gun after them.

But hey, that's okay, because government schools exist to "educate" students, right? Aren't you glad that your tax money is being used to teach children how to cry and hide under desks while they're being terrorized? Well, if the Democrats (and the NEA) have their way, there's going to be a lot more of that in the US, so perhaps it is a valuable skill to learn.

You just go ahead, keep supporting those government schools. Keep telling yourself, "Gee, that might happen over there, but it won't happen in MY government school. MY school is better than that." Sorry. If it's a government run school (aka "public" school), it's no better than the steaming pile left by that brown cow in the field. Government schools have zero interest in education.

Terrorist Update

If you missed it, last week I posted that I am considered a terrorist by the United States government. You may also be a terrorist, according to various government agencies. If you take the quiz and it determines that you are, indeed, a government "home-grown" terrorist, you can now be certified! Head on over to Homeland Stupidity and you can grab your own certified Domestic Terrorist badge for your blog or web page. It comes in all sizes, so you're sure to find one that fits. I've got mine displayed over on the top of the left side of the main page!

McHenry Voter Fraud

A story that appeared to break late Friday in NC really hasn't gotten a lot of attention. I'm not sure why, because the left-leaning media could really continue their Republican attacks with this story -- because it's about a current Republican Congressman who appears to only be in Congress because he cheated. This story is especially interesting to Ogre, as it is about his Congressional Representative, Patrick McHenry.

Here's the original (and complete) CBS News Report:

The CBS News Investigative Unit has learned a man who was a field coordinator in Congressman Patrick McHenry's (R-NC) 2004 campaign has been indicted for voter fraud in North Carolina.

The indictment charges that Michael Aaron Lay, 26, illegally cast his ballot in two 2004 Congressional primary run-offs in which McHenry was a candidate. The charges indicate that Lay voted in a district where it was not legal for him to vote.

At the time Lay was listed as a resident in a home owned by 32-year-old McHenry but campaign records indicate Lay's paychecks were sent to an address in Tennessee. McHenry won the primary by only 86 votes. According to Gaston County, North Carolina District Attorney Locke Bell, Lay was indicted on Monday, May 7 by a local grand jury.

CBS News has learned that these charges were first investigated by the North Carolina State Board of Elections up to two years ago. The results were forwarded to the previous Gaston County District Attorney Mike Lands. In January, Bell was elected the new district attorney for the county and pursued the indictment.

Now these charges are very old -- over 2 years for the charges, and 3 years for the vote. The charges were originally raised by McHenry's opponent in the primary, actually before the election. But the NC Board of Elections (D) doesn't really care because this district is a gerrymandered Republican district, so a Republican always wins -- and the Democrats really don't care much which one.

Michael Rogers, over at Blog Active reveals some more details -- about additional "registered voters" who all registered to vote with Patrick McHenry's own address. Now presuming all that information is accurate, there's clear and obvious corruption going on here. When someone wins an election by just 86 votes and suddenly has at least four additional adult people registered at their own address; most of which are on the campaign payroll and voting absentee ballot, something really, really stinks.

So I wonder if anyone will challenge McHenry in 2008.

Previous election results for McHenry (he first ran for Congress in 2004 when the previous Republican Congressman did not run):

In 2004, in the Republican Primary:
David Huffman: 14,280 (35%)
Patrick McHenry: 10,760 (26%)
Sandy Lyons: 8,000 (20%)
George A. Moretz: 7,812 (19%)
Total: 40,852 voters

Then the 2nd Primary Runoff:
Patrick McHenry: 15,015 (50.1%)
David Huffman: 14,930 (49.9%)
Total: 29,945 voters

And the 2004 General Election:
Patrick McHenry REP 157,884 (64%)
Anne N. Fischer DEM 88,233 (36%)

The 2006 General Election (No Primary Challenger for McHenry):
Patrick McHenry REP 94,179 (62%)
Richard Carsner DEM 58,214 (38%)

No primary challenger in the 2006 election after such a close and contested rave in 2004? Isn't that interesting? Now the Ogre simply doesn't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on campaigning. And Ogre has to actually work for a living, instead of making a living, well, campaigning for election. But maybe the Ogre should put his name on the ballot next year just in case people want to vote for someone other than McHenry...

MLB Supports Abortion

I can't let this beautiful Mother's Day go by without just informing people about all the efforts to support abortion -- headed by Major League Baseball. All the pink bats and fund raising today by the league is going to an organization that uses it's money to help people have abortions. Yes, the Susan G. Komen organization strongly supports abortion.

Strangely enough -- or maybe not so strangely, abortion, which the Komen group supports, is also a cause of breast cancer -- which the Komen organization exists to destroy. I'm not saying that they support abortion to increase breast cancer so they can have a reason to exist -- just that they are widely supporting abortion and abortion DOES have an influence on breast cancer.

Check here for lots of very specific details on the Susan G. Komen organization and their links to abortion. If you don't believe me that abortion has strong links to breast cancer read this page. There's a link, and Major League Baseball supports it. Remember those innocent children killed by abortion when you see those pink bats today and tonight.

Stop Bill Graham?

Just like the presidential elections for 2008, the race for governor in North Carolina has already started. Democrats, via massive campaigns of lying and disinformation, have continued to rule the state with an iron fist. However, the only place they cannot gerrymander (although they can cheat) is on statewide elections. Strangely enough, the people of NC always vote for a Republican for president (and have since the 1970s), but they keep electing Democrats for governor. I think it's because the candidates for governor are just better liars, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, the Republicans are already jockeying for their own campaigns for governor for next year. So far I know of just two confirmed candidates for governor on the Republican side, Fred Smith and Bill Graham. I haven't gotten completely behind anyone yet -- I'm still waiting to see who else might show up. But I've met Fred Smith and have reported on him here at this blog. I haven't seen anything to dislike about him.

Bill Graham was at the recent conservative leadership conference, and I heard him speak. I also know him from his recent campaign to stop the Democrats increasing the already massive tax on gasoline. But now I've been alerted to the existence of a website called StopBillGraham.com. It really blasts Bill Graham as an insider who has donated thousands of dollars to liberal Democrat candidates. That's pretty bad, if you ask me.

I'll be contacting the Bill Graham campaign to see what they have to say about this situation.
