Movie Meme

VW thought for some reason it would be fun to tag me with another silly meme. I don't know why she thought that it would be fun. As usual, this one comes with ZERO instructions. Therefore I can do anything I want and comply with the "rules" of the meme. So here goes:

What? You thought I'd do something?

Okay, I'll play along, just this once... (and in case you don't know how this one works, this is a list of keywords of movies from IMDB. You have to try and guess which movie each one describes. I don't watch many movies, but these are a few I like. Some will be quite easy to guess...)

1. Gunshot / Creek / Graft / Ethics / American
(Should be simple. I bet Harvey gets it right away)

2. Anachronistic / British Film / Severed Arm / Eccentric / British
(yeah, that one is too easy)

3. Eaten Alive / Pug Dog / Alien Baby / Suicide / New York City
(that's not even a challenge, is it?)

4. Cellular Phone / E Mail / Fight On Train Roof / Sequel To TV Series / Berlin Germany
(These are way too easy.)

5. Steampunk / No Opening Credits / 18th Century / British Empire / Pirates
(Is there even a point to me continuing?)

6. Shot In The Head / Good Versus Evil / Car Accident / Indiana Jones / U Boat
(oh, there's a toughie)

7. Male Nudity / Period Drama / Dance Hall / Boarding House / Oklahoma
(That first keyword is SO wrong.)

8. Eighteenth Century / Fireplace / Catholic Priest / Vienna Austria / Talent
(Hey look, one that might take at least 2 guesses to figure out)

9. Good Versus Evil / Desert / Death Of Loved One / Cult / Bow And Arrow
(I guess that could take 2 guesses)

10. Motivation / Kiss / Eggs / Inspiration / Competition
(I have no idea what those words have to do with this movie).

Now I just have to remember which movies I just searched for when you guess...

Hackney Hacks Off Local GOP

Republicans in Speaker of the House Joe Hackneys district are sounding off today about Hackneys move to kill the Defense of Marriage Amendment yesterday.

The House Rules Committee approved the Defense of Marriage Act yesterday, sending it to the House Floor. This bill, if approved by the House and Senate, would put a constitutional amendment on the North Carolina ballot that would guarantee that marriage in North Carolina could only be defined as being between one man and one woman.

After the Rules Committee sent the bill to the House floor, Speaker Joe Hackney (who represents Chatham and parts of Orange and Moore Counties) sent the bill to the Judiciary I committee. The J-I committee is chaired by Representative Deborah Ross, who is an opponent of the bill.

This is the most progress this bill has seen in four years, stated Martha Jenkins, chairman of the Fourth District Republican Party. This legislation has been introduced over and over again, only to be stuck in committees in both Houses where it had never seen the light of day.

House Speaker Joe Hackney has harmed his position by overriding a committee vote to send the Marriage Amendment (House Bill 493) to a committee, declared Joyce Cotten, Chairman of the Chatham County Republican Party. What has happened to representative government when 64 House members co-sponsor a bill and the Rules Committee votes to send it to the floor and one person can prevent a vote? Cotten continued, Speaker Hackney said at the beginning of the session we will control the agenda. One has to wonder if this is his own personal agenda. This is not representative government but an abuse of power.

Augustus Cho, chairman of the Orange County Republican Party, cited polling data that shows public approval of being able to vote on the amendment. A vast majority of North Carolinians believe marriage should be only between one man and one woman, he said. We do not want to be in the position that some judge can arbitrarily decide that the current statute defining marriage is unconstitutional in any way. The best way to insure that marriage remains the building block of our society is to pass a constitutional amendment to protect the institution.

Joyce Cotten added, Our country was founded on representative government. Let the people speak and stop playing games with the power of office. Cho interjected, No one elected Hackney to be a dictator of North Carolina. He should not abuse his position for his personal political agenda.

Both GOP chairman are encouraging likeminded supporters to call Speaker Hackney and ask him to allow a vote to be taken either today or tomorrow on the House floor on this bill. If the bill isnt passed before tomorrows crossover deadline, the General Assemblys rules prevent it from being considered either this year or next year.

Friday Feast #145

Here's how it works:

Each Friday when you visit this meme, you will find 5 enticing courses for your mind to gobble up:

Appetizer
- a quick, tasty morsel to get you started

Soup
- smooth and warm to soothe your mind

Salad
- a nutritious blend of "veggies"

Main Course
- a hearty portion that is sure to satisfy

Dessert
- light concoction for your sweet tooth

And now for this week's fare:
Appetizer: Name a sound you like to hear.

Silence. What? That's a sound. Sort of...
Soup: What is your favorite kind of cheese?

The kind that's thrown into the trash so I don't have to eat it.
Salad: Do you sleep late on Saturday mornings? Why or why not?

Yes, until at least 6:00. Why? Because I can.
Main Course: When was the last time you forgot something? What was it, and how long did it take to remember it?

What? What is this question about? Are you insinuating something? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more, squire!
Dessert: Fill in the blank: I notice ____________ when _____________.

Oh, that's a tricky one. I bet you think you caught me. But no, I was paying attention. I see that it said "blank" singular and that there's two blanks! So I know that I have to fill in both blanks with the same word to actually complete this one. But what one word can be used to fill both those blanks? I'm going to go with "galavanting."

Equal Justice?

I think I understand now. The United States justice system is not blind. There is no such thing as "equal justice under the law." Instead, some laws shall be enforced only when the government decides they don't like the person or ideas of the "guilty:"

Saying, "God Hates Fags" is a VERY serious crime. This is a crime so bad, it shall be deemed to be a felony, the most serious type of crime. And if a 16-year old says it because they're mad, that's SO serious that they won't even be allowed bail. Violent rapists get bail, but not immature children who DARE to say anything bad against the protected class of "faggot." And this was done by children who simply were immature and not thinking -- likely without any serious hatred.

At the same time, saying that Catholics are all gay is perfectly okay. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. No government agency cares one bit because that's not a personal insult to a protected class, instead, it's making fun of those the government does not happen to like this week. And this was done by someone who is filly with animosity and a record of actual hatred towards religion -- to a national audience.

There shall be no justice in America today.

Samuel David Cheney

In case you didn't see, Samuel David Cheney (yes, that Cheney) was born Wednesday. It is highly likely (more than 40% more likely than the general public) that he will be subject to child abuse. He is three times more likely than the general population to fail school, require psychiatric treatment, or commit suicide. He has twice the odds of the general population to be incarcerated for committing a crime. And the odds are greatly increased that he will abuse illegal drugs, alcohol, or tobacco.

Because he's being raised without a father.

R.I.P. America

In loving memory...

The United States of America
1775-2007

It was good while it lasted. Too bad it's over.

Every great country must come to an end. In man's history, the average age of a great civilization is about 200 years. America made it a bit longer, but now it's time has come as well.

Now I don't mean to say that overnight the place will suddenly cease to exist. However, the America that was created over 200 years ago is completely gone now. It's been on a decline for some time, and this really is it. I remember well the celebrations of 1976 (though I was quite young) -- and I would be willing to be there will be no celebration in 2076. The country has died.

I do not write this lightly, nor without great thought. I do not write this with joy or sarcasm. I write this, fervently believing that it is true, despite the rejections and declarations of many.

There were brief rays of hope that paused the decline of freedom and liberty. Ronald Reagan, from 1980-1988 worked hard and tirelessly to stop oppression and really gave hope to a lot of people. He renewed faith in America and in it's people. But that was just an upward blip on the steady decline of the country. Under the leadership of Newt Gingrich, there was another upward tick for just a short time in 1994. This blip was smaller than the 80s, and shorter. But with the passage of global amnesty, the decline is complete. There is no hope for America.

Now I'm not saying I'm hopeless. I'm not feeling personally bad. But there is no hope for America today. America was built on a strong Christian work ethic. America was a great country once. It was built on rugged individualism -- people worked hard and knew hard work would be rewarded. America was truly a shining light on a hill -- a beacon of freedom around the world. America defeated Communism. America defeated Hitler and Nazi Germany when they wanted to rule the world. America had a real identity, and the whole world knew it. But that is to be no more.

America was founded as a Representative Republic. It was a nation of laws. It was a government "for the people" and "by the people." But it is no longer. The vast majority of Americans are strongly opposed to the actions of the Senate -- but the Senators simply don't care. The Senate is an elite group that does not care about people, only about themselves and expanding their personal government. Laws used to apply to everyone equally. No longer. A close look at the bill that passed the Senate shows that the government will apply laws as they see fit to whomever and whenever the current government office holders decide. Justice is no longer blind.

America was based on freedom. People were free to associate with one another. People were free to worship as they saw fit. People were free to elect representatives -- and remove them when they saw fit. But this is no longer the case. Government, through unelected bureaucrats, micromanages every single aspect of everyone's life. Go ahead, try and associate with people who the government doesn't like -- you can and will be arrested. You will be declared a "domestic terrorist" if you dare disagree with the government. And if you mention the Bible and attempt to tell people about your religion at the wrong time, you will be arrested and charged with a hate crime. Just try and elect someone else if you don't like it -- here in North Carolina, you can only be elected if the current officeholders permit you to be. There are no free and fair elections.

America used to be the biggest economic engine in the world. That engine was based on the free market and free enterprise. No longer is this the case. Go ahead, try and do anything related to economics without asking government permission. Create something in your garage and attempt to trade it to someone else who wants it -- if you do, you will be breaking "the law." Government today, and more so with the current "immigration" bill, picks the winners and losers economically. Government gives taxpayer money to businesses they like and withholds it from businesses they don't. Government regulations are used to protect big money donor businesses from competition from start-ups.

America had a national identity. Everyone in the world knew that. Americans worked hard. Americans spoke English. Americans had unalienable rights that government could not take away. Americans were different and unique. No longer is that the case. With this bill, as many as 150 million new "citizens" will be created, citizens that care nothing for the rich history of the country called "The United States of America." This will completely and forever alter the landscape and culture of this country.

America was indeed a great country. It gave freedom and capitalism a chance -- and it worked for a short time. But today it's gone. There is no economic freedom. There is no representation. There is only oppressive government that is continuing to get more oppressive. I am sure many will disagree with me. A majority of people will continue going about their life, not knowing anything has changed -- and not caring. As long as little Johnny gets to soccer practice on time, all is well in the world.

Some will notice and will continue to fight. That is good. However, these fighters really are now Don Quixotes. It has ended. Good, right, and freedom simply cannot win by staying within the bounds of the current system. I know, for I have battled long and hard to fix the system. It's not going to happen. Freedom will no longer appear in this country -- not as long as the current system of government reins.

America is dead. It will just take people some time to notice.

I started this blog years ago with the hope of advancing freedom. I honestly believed that I could help promote freedom inside the current system. I really believed that the current system was broken, but that it could be fixed. I thought I could work within the system and help repair it. I was wrong.

This system of government is literally beyond repair. Go ahead, continue working within the system -- but do not expect to actually make a difference. America the free simply does not exist any more, no matter how you might feel. That will likely offend some people. I'm sorry that the truth offends you.

I'm not giving up -- far from it. I am, however, very tired. I'm tired of fighting around every turn. I'm tired of battling every single day to try and convince people to allow me to have my own freedom. I'm so tired of trying to get people elected that simply become part of the system. I'm tired of beating my head against the wall, knowing that while I might get one small victory for freedom; ten other losses happened at the same time. I am giving up on the current system. Freedom simply cannot win any more.

I will continue to fight for freedom -- but only from outside the system. It does no good to attempt to obey laws when they will be applied only arbitrarily. Of what value is it to play by the rules when the rules can and are changed on the whim of an unelected government bureaucrat who is only concerned with power and control and "doing their job?" What benefit is there to voting for the lesser of two evils when one choice is 100% anti-freedom and the other option is 98% anti-freedom?

America, you were indeed a great country. You had rich traditions, a wonderful culture, and truly showed the world that freedom is a great thing. I can only hope that in my lifetime a place will arise where freedom will once again be welcome. However, the last time the battle for freedom took about 25,000 lives -- about 1% of the population. 1% of the current population of the United States is 3,000,000.

I would like to say that it hasn't reached that point, but it already has. The only question remaining is how long people will continue to reject freedom. Once people decide they want freedom again, unfortunately, it will only be regained with bloodshed.

America, Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. R.I.P.

Amnesty Passes

Well, that's it. Folks, it's over. The total amnesty and massive government expenditure and expansion program, aka "comprehensive immigration bill" passed the Senate 69-23. Sure, some Senators claim they voted for it so they could "fix" it. If you believe that, I've got some oceanfront property in Montana I'd like to sell you.

Bush supports it. Only a majority vote in the Senate will pass it. Sue Myrick claims it won't pass the House, but she's in the minority. Then the infamous "conference committee" will get their hands on it -- and restore everything that was in the original without any votes.

America, we had a good run.

The Future of America

I was trying to find something lighter for this afternoon. I was looking for something silly, a cartoon, or something to lighten the mood. That didn't work. Instead I found this picture -- which will be happening more often if the Senate bill passes.

NO on cloture today means Yes for America.

"Not" Amnesty

I've been reading various places where people are claiming that this bill isn't amnesty. I'm guessing those people haven't actually read the bill. Norman, at Norman's Blog, says:

1) It is not amnesty. It imposes an initial $1,000 fine and an additional $4,000 fine upon application for a green card by Z visa workers.

Terry, at The Right Track examines the nitty gritty meanings of words and declares:
So are illegals being absolved of the consequences of their crimes? Id have to say in the strongest possible terms: it depends.

S.1348, Title II, Sec 201:
A record of lawful admission for permanent residence may be made, in the discretion of the Secretary of Homeland Security and under such regulations as the retary may prescribe, for any alien, as of the date of the approval of the aliens application or, if entry occurred be fore July 1, 1924, as of the date of such entry if no such record is otherwise available, if the alien establishes that the alien
(1) is not described in section 212(a)(3)(E) or in section 212(a) (insofar as it relates to criminals, procurers, other immoral persons, subversives, violators of the narcotics laws, or smugglers of aliens);
(2) entered the United States before January 12 1, 1972;
(3) has resided in the United States continuously since such entry;
(4) is a person of good moral character;
(5) is not ineligible for citizenship; and
(6) is not described in section 237(a)(4)(B).

Folks, that IS amnesty by definition. That particular line may not be amnesty for everyone, but anyone who claims the bill doesn't include amnesty is either lying or doesn't know what's in the bill.

Sec 602(a)(1)(B):

Notwithstanding sections 245(a) and (c), the status of any Z-1 nonimmigrant may be adjusted by the Secretary of Homeland Security to that of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence.

And the related 245(a) and (c):

That's right, there's nothing there. In other words, according to this proposed law, the Secretary of Homeland Security can, at any point in time, by executive fiat, just grant blanket amnesty to anyone he wants -- and no one can stop him.

Oh, but he can only grant total amnesty to Z-Visa immigrants. So who gets those Visas?

Definition of Z nonimmigrants- Section 101(a)(15) of the Act
(8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)) is amended by inserting at the end the following new subparagraph "(Z) subject to Title VI of the [Insert title of Act], an alien
who-
"(i) is physically present in the United States, has maintained continuous physical presence in the United States since January 1, 2007, is employed, and seeks to
continue performing labor, services or education; or
"(ii) is physically present in the United States, has maintained continuous physical presence in the United States since January 1, 2007, and
"(I) is the spouse or parent (65 years of age or older) of an alien described in (i); or
"(II) was, within two years of the date on which [NAME OF THIS ACT] was introduced, the spouse of an alien who was subsequently classified as a Z nonimmigrant under this section, or is eligible for such classification, if-
"(aa) the termination of the relationship with such spouse was connected to domestic violence; and
"(bb) the spouse has been battered or subjected to extreme cruelty by the spouse or parent who is a Z nonimmigrant.

In other words, literally anyone who comes to this country illegally can get a Z-Visa and the Secretary can grant total amnesty to every last one of them (and their entire families).

This bill is really, really bad. If you haven't called your Senators yet, please do. This needs to be stopped. This bill has the power to completely destroy America as a free country and as a representative republic.

NO on Cloture!

I don't think I've ever directly asked my readers to contact their Senators. Well, that was then, this is now. This is really a big, big deal. The Senate and Bush are really, really wrong, and if this immigration bill passes, it will be the end of America as we know it.

No, the country won't disappear, but from what I'm seeing, the bill could add 150 million Mexicans as citizens overnight. Seriously. With only 300 million in the US, what do you think that will do to the country? It will no longer be a representative republic. Socialism will gain a solid foothold and America will continue down the same path socialism has gone every single time it's tried.

Return readers know that I like freedom. This bill absolutely does not. Please, contact your Senators and tell them to vote no on cloture. If you don't want to call, go to Numbers USA and they will send a fax for you. This really is a big deal. Thank you.

Immigration Bill

Today is supposed to be the vote on the Kennedy-StupidMorons Immigration Bill. They'll claim it's only the "cloture" vote, but this is it. If the bill passes this vote, it's as good as done. Bush loves it, so it's got a real good chance at passing.

On Friday, Steph provided me with a link to the actual text of the bill. It's 790 pages long. Anyone care to guess if YOUR Senator actually sat down and read all 790 pages? I'd be less than 2 have read the damn bill -- but they're supposed to vote today.

I've heard lots about what's in the bill. I've heard nothing good at ALL about the bill. But I decided to try and do what the Senators won't -- I wanted to read the entire bill. So if you don't want to read the whole 790 pages, I'll attempt to provide the cliff notes version here. Keep in mind -- the original is 790 pages so this is NOT going to be short. Also note the format: I will list the section number and then provide what's in the bill. I'm not making those parts up. I'll save my comments for the next lines where you'll see "O:" (that's for 'Ogre'). If you don't see the "O:," that means it's really in the damn bill.

Subtitle A:
Sec 101 - Adds 2,500 port inspectors, 200 custom investigators, 1,000 smuggler investigators, 250 US Marshalls, 11,600 Border Patrol agents (2,320 of them to the Canadian border).

O: Nothing like adding huge piles of government employees. This would be the Democrat part of the bill.

Sec 102 - Establish a "virtual fence."

O: I'd prefer a 12' tall stone wall with moats with sharks with lasers on their heads.

Sec 103 - Construct a border.

O: Really, it says the secretary should obtain "operational control of the international borders of the United States. Well, at least they admit we current have NO border.

Sec 104 - Add border checkpoints.

O: I couldn't make this up. That part actually allows the government to put up border entry checkpoints.

Sec 105 - Same as Sec 104, but they're called "ports of entry."
Sec 106 - Build a fence near Naco, AZ; another near Tucson, AZ; Yuma, AZ; and 870 miles of other fencing anywhere else.

Subtitle B:
Sec 111 - Develop a plan to watch the border.

O: Again, it really says this. Don't DO anything, just make a plan to watch the border.

Sec 112 - Develop a strategy for "border security."

O: This is a long section. Again, don't DO anything, just make plans.

Sec 113 - Write a report on "improving information exchange" about "the Security of North America."

O: Note it didn't say the security of the United States, but the Security of "North America."

Sec 114 - Secure the borders of Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize. Give those countries money to help them secure their borders.

O: Yeah, screw the US. Seriously. Did you see anything that said secure the borders of the United States? IT'S NOT IN THERE.

Sec 115 - Attempt to reduce human smuggling.
Sec 116 - Collect data about deaths at the US-Mexico border.

O: Excuse me, what border?

Sec 117 - Cooperate with the government of Mexico.

O: Oh, there's a great idea. Again, this has nothing to do with securing the borders of the United States.

Subtitle C:
Sec 121 - Fingerprint those who enter the country legally.

O: And this helps stop ILLEGAL immigration how?

Sec 122 - Have the border patrol use satellite communications.

O: What, while they're talking from one station to the other? They're not allowed to touch illegals, so they can't be doing much else.

Sec 123 - Review border patrol training procedures.

O: I'll bet to include telling the border patrol not to actually enforce the border or the law.

Sec 124 - Implement the US-VISIT system at all entry points.

O: Except at the border where the illegals are crossing.

Sec 125 - Train the border patrol to identify forged documents.

O: What for? They're not going to DO anything if they see any forged documents. Heck, if they ask someone for their papers, they're likely to be sued or put in jail.

Sec 126 - Puts the Secretary of Homeland Security in charge of something the US Attorney General used to do.

That's great -- the Secretary of Homeland Security is the one man in this entire country that can't seem to locate a single illegal alien.

Sec 127 - Technical changes to previous laws
Sec 128 - Collect Biometric Data from aliens leaving the country.

O: Sure, just put up a sign and I'm sure they'll all comply without question. After all, they obeyed the law on the way in, right?

Sec 129 - Write a report about the southern border. Determine the impact of a fence on the global climate, ozone, etc.

O: Who writes this crap? Did they consider the impact of a border fence on the price of rice in China? I bet it's in there.

Sec 130 - Ensure that women and blacks get contracts

O: Yes, we wouldn't want the best person to do the job to get all of this huge pile of government handouts, would we? No, we're going to be racist and sexist and give out government handouts soley on the sex and race of the person applying. I guess that's only illegal if you're NOT government.

Sec 131 - Beginning Oct 1, 2008, an alien OTHER THAN A NATIONAL OF MEXICO shall be detained when trying to illegally enter the country.

O: Go ahead, read that again. It says we're not going to stop ANYONE from entering the country until Oct 1, 2008. And then we'll BEGIN to stop only non-Mexicans.

Sec 132 - People who evade inspection AT CHECKPOINTS shall be punished.

O: No word about those who simply ignore or avoid checkpoints.

Sec 133 - If a governor asks the Secretary of Defense, he shall be permitted to use the National Guard to train in their state.

O: Seriously. This law actually makes it an apparent crime for the governor of Arizona to train his own national guard troops in the state of Arizona. Can you say, "Unconstitutional?"

Sec 134 - Write a report about incentives used to encourage former armed forces members to join the border patrol.

O: Writing papers and reports is "doing something" about the border, right?

Sec 135 - Extends the deadline for US Citizens to get passports to cross the Canadian and Mexican border. Expand the REALID act.

O: Of course, nothing about requiring NON-citizens to have ANY documentation to cross any border.

Subtitle D:
Sec 141 - Title of the act: Border Law Enforcement Relief Act of 2007.
Sec 142 - Congress finds that they're supposed to enforce the border and aren't.

O: Shocking. They actually admit that it's their job to enforce the border. Too bad their numbers of estimates of illegal in the country is WAY, WAY low.

Sec 143 - Authorizes $250 million in funds for local law enforcement groups at the border to enforce the border.
Sec 144 - This law shall not authorize any state or local agencies to enforce the law.

O: Typical government crapholery. Give $250 million to law enforcement, but then tell them they're not allowed to actually use that money to enforce ANY border law at all.

Subtitle E:
Sec 151 - If a state governor declares a "border emergency," they get 1,000 union border agents for free.

O: Gee, do you think ANY state governor won't? Danger, Will Robinson!

Sec 152 - The border patrol gets total control over the border. No one else is allowed to assist in any way, shape, or form. Adds 100 helicopters and 250 boats to the border patrol and cars -- lots of new cars.
Sec 153 - Equips all border patrol cars with laptops, radios, GPS systems, and Night Vision equipment.
Sec 154 - Border patrol agents shall have body armor, guns, and uniforms.
Sec 155 - Blank check to provide all of the above.

O: Again, nothing about enforcing the law or reducing illegal alien entry into the country. Lots of spending, though.

Title II - Interior Enforcement
Sec 201 - Apparent technical changes to current laws
Sec 249 - Total Amnesty for anyone who entered the country illegally before Jan 1, 1972.
Sec 202 - Gives control of deportations to Homeland Security instead of the Attorney General; gives permission to hold violent criminal illegal aliens for more than 90 days.

O: Apparently we're not allowed to hold them now.

Sec 203 - Technical changes to the definition of aggrevated felony
Sec 204 - Defines moral character? Prohibits those who are a danger to national security from being naturalized.

O: Again, what the hell? You mean right now, without this law, if you're a threat to national security, you CAN become a citizen? Great system you morons are running there in Washington.

Sec 205 - Increases penalties for gang activity and makes being a member of a criminal gang a deportable offense

O: Gee, that might work if we actually deported, well, ANYONE, wouldn't it?

Sec 274 - Makes smuggling illegal aliens a crime -- ONLY allows federal agents to enforce any part of this law.

O: Do we have ANY laws about the border right now (before this bill)? Any at all?

Sec 275 - Makes it illegal to enter the US without asking permission of the Dept of Homeland Security. Punishments: 1 time = 6 mos in jail; 2nd+ time = 2 years in jail; if a felon = 10-15-20 years

O: So, we HAVE been wrong calling them "illegal aliens." If they're just now making this law, apparently it's not against the law now. What a load of you know what.

Sec 276 - If a deportee tries to re-enter, that's not allowed. If they're criminals who try and re-enter, that's 10-15-20 years in jail.

Sec 208 - Changes Chapter 75 of the US Code -- Passport, Visa, and Immigration Fraud.
Sec 209 - Adding commas and semicolons to previous laws.
Sec 210 - Develop a plan to identify removable criminal aliens already in state and federal prisons.

O: About time, huh?

Sec 211 - Allow aliens to self-deport instead of actually deporting them.

O: It really says that. Instead of forcing them out, if they're convicted of a crime, or found where they're not supposed to be, we can just ask them really, really nicely to leave. I'm sure a lot will jump at this chance.

Sec 212 - Deters aliens by making firm dates of legal petitions within 5, 10, or 20 years of the ordered removal of the illegal.
Sec 213 - Prohibits selling firearms to some illegals; makes it illegal for some illegals to possess firearms.

O: What a damn joke. Gee, they didn't obey they pesky border law, but I'm sure they'll obey this firearm law.

Sec 214 - Limits prosecution for illegal aliens to 10 years (statute of limitataions set).
Sec 215 - Allows the state department to help investigate illegals.
Sec 216 - Ensures at least 55 ICE agents are in every state -- except states with a population of less than 2 million. Allot $15 million for this.

O: I'm sure Vermont is thrilled.

Sec 217 - Says that the dept of Homeland Security is not required to do things for illegal aliens.
Sec 218 - Give $2 billion to states who provide stuff for illegals. Plus $3.5 billion more.

O: I'm not tracking all these numbers, but can you see why Democrats and today's Republicans would LOVE this bill? There's more spending than the entire Pacific Fleet could spend after visiting the Anheisuer-Busch brewery on free sample day.

Sec 219 - Blank check to pay for providing transportation for all illegals.

O: presumably to and from jails.

Sec 220 - Blank check to any and all "Indian lands" who want to have free cash to prevent, detain, and arrest illegals on their lands.
Sec 221 - Study alternatives to detention (supervising, electronic monitoring, etc).
Sec 222 - More technical changes.
Sec 223 - Aliens must provide actual addresses, and not PO Boxes or other people's addresses.
Sec 224 - If local agencies train their people for border enforcement, the feds will pay for it.
Sec 225 - 3rd-time drunk illegal alien drivers shall be deported.

O: Nothing like treating the illegals better than the citizens, eh?

Sec 226 - technical change somewhere else
Sec 227 - Deport exceptionally violent illegal aliens quickly.
Sec 228 - "Protect Immigrants from Sex Offenders."

O: Okay, this one makes no sense. Let's protect illegal immigrants from being sexually assaulted? Once again, why the special rules for the non-citizens?

Sec 229 - Permits state law enforcement to "Assist" federal law enforcement in enforcing immigration law -- at the expense of the feds
Sec 230 - Allows Homeland Security to investigate and prosecute forced labor and human trafficking.
Sec 231 - Adds immigration violators to the NCIC database
Sec 232 - Homeland Security will set up cooperation with at least 1 law enforcement agency in every state.
Sec 233 - Build 20 new federal jails to house at least 20,000 illegal aliens. Use as much money as desired.
Sec 234 - In 2 years, all suspects charged with federal crimes will be checked to attempt to determine their residence status.

O: Yes folks, that's right, the federal government isn't doing that now. Don't you feel safe?

Sec 235 - Increase the prisoner transport system to add more busses. And maybe planes.

Title III - Unlawful Employment of Aliens
Sec 301 - Modify US Code to make it illegal for an employer to hire "unauthorized aliens" or to continue to employ them (if already employed). There shall be ZERO cost to the employer. Homeland Security will spend at least $400 million for this system. Employers who do not obey will be fined $500 - $4,000 per illegal. 2nd offense is $4,000 - $10,000 fine; and third is $6,000 - $20,000 per illegal. The feds may not contract with agencies that break these laws (unless they really want to and get a wavier). Give Social Security to illegals.

O: All the laws in the world are meaningless when we refuse to enforce them.

Sec 302 - All employer fines go into a pool that's used to enforce these laws.
Sec 303 - Hire 11,000 new ICE agents.
Sec 304 - Technical change
Sec 305 - Grants civil rights to illegals -- you cannot discriminate against someone for employment based on "the verification of the individual's work authorization through the Electronic Employment Verification System." Spend $200 million for an illegal alien "information campaign."

O: Doesn't that match so well with Sec 301? You can't hire illegals, or you'll be fined. You can't NOT hire them, or you'll be sued.

Title IV - Nonimmigrant and Immigrant Visa Reform
Sec 401 - Write a report that describes the impact of making all illegals legal overnight.

O: This has already been done, you morons.

Sec 402 - Allows illegals to enter if they're doing temporary work. And allows them to bring spouses, children, and anyone else who "is accompanying or following."

O: Yeah, you read that right. One illegal comes to pick lettuce, they can bring quite literally any number of people with them, completely legally under this law.

Sec 403 - Amends USC 1181 Sec 218: Allows more H-2C Visas to allow more non-citizens to enter the country legally.
Sec 404 - Amends USC 1201 Sec 218: Specific requirements that employers must follow to advertise jobs before they can use foreign H-2C Visa workers.
Sec 405 - Amends USC 1151 Sec 218: Develop a system to "manage and track alien employment" (regarding H-2C employment Visas).
Sec 406 - Do the above within 6 months.
Sec 407 - US Secretary of Labor should crete a job site.

O: Yeah, Monster needs some competition, so let's have government do that. Is there anything government can't do?

Sec 408 - Create a "Temporary Worker Task Force." They will write more reports.

O: And it says that no more than 5 members can be from the same political party. Does "claiming to be independent" count as one?

Sec 409 - The US shall make agreements with foreign countries to ensure they will accept their illegals back.

O: Note it does NOT say, "The US shall inform foreign countries." No, it says, "negotiate and be nice to them." Ballless freaks.

Sec 410 - Expand S Visas -- and allows those immigrants to bring their entire extended family with them as well.
Sec 411 - If an employer wants to employ L Visa immigrants, they have to submit to tons of paperwork.
Sec 412 - Hire 2,000 new bureaucrats for the Department of Labor each year -- FOREVER.
Sec 413 - Grant exemptions to various legal requirements to any country that is helping in Iraq with at least 300 troops.

O: Gee, does that mean when the Democrats pull out that we'll have stiffer requirements for ourselves?

Sec 414 - Blank check to fund all the above.
Subtitle B
Sec 421 - Title: Fairness in Immigration Litigation Act of 2007

O: Oh, this is SO going to suck. The word "fair" should never, ever appear in any legal document.

Sec 422 + 423 - Pages of rules about when illegals sue the government.

O: Don't you love it when the government gets to make the rules when they're the guilty party? Blind justice? Not in this country.

Title V, Subtitle A
Sec 501 - Allows 650,000 immigrant Visas a year -- but only one counts per family.

O: So one person can get a Visa and literally bring their entire extended family along for free. How is that a numerical limitation again?

Sec 502 - Limits a single foreign state to 10% of the total.

O: Can someone help me? My calculator skills are weak -- what's 10% of infinity?

Sec 503 - Families of citizens; families of permanent resident aliens; and married children of citizens shall be automatically given visas.

O: There's more numbers and percentages, but they'll all based on that infinity number above, so they're really meaningless.

Sec 504 - All widows and children of citizens are invited in.
Sec 505 - If the Secretary of Labor says so, any illegal who wants to work in special, government-selected industries may enter the country at will. The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall find a way to employ MORE nurses and physical therapists.

O: Gotta stick pork in there, or it's not a Congressional Bill.

Sec 506 - Do not allow widows or orphans to be deported.
Sec 507 - Allow student visas to never expire if the secretary gives a wavier.
Sec 508 - Aliens who have advanced degrees can stay

O: I wonder if learning to drive a bus, truck, or airplane fits in this category.

Sec 509 - Alien Children of Filipino WWII Vets can stay.
Sec 510 - Alien Artists can stay.
Sec 511 - Alien Powerline workers can stay.
Sec 512 - Alient Haitian Refugee children can stay.

Subtitle B - SKIL Act of 2007

O: These idiots can't even spell "Skill." Fools.

Sec 521 - Title: "Securing Knowledge, Innovation, and Leadership Act of 2007."

O: Yeah, government is SO good at innovation. Oh, this is going to be really bad, too. If you REALLY wanted to increase knowledge, innovation, and leadership, you'd cut government about 90% so people could actually DO things instead of spending all their time complying with government regulations.

Sec 522 - H1-B Visa technical corrections
Sec 523 - Appears to add 115,000 student Visas for advanced degree-seeking students
Sec 524 - Aliens who have advanced degrees, or that work in a government-preferred industry get waviers for these laws. Oh, and their entire families, too.
Sec 525 - We love alien students. But they can't work off-campus full-time.
Sec 526 - L-1 Visas shall not be expedited.
Sec 527 - If an illegal is working without a green card, but they asked for one, then they won't be bothered.
Sec 528 - Spend money to make a system to speed up employer requests from the government.
Sec 529 - If a company really wants good service from the government, they can buy premium processing services.

O: With crap like this, I seriously believe there is zero hope of ever seeing freedom or a representative government on this planet ever again. Did you read that? The government, that is supposed to be "by the people," is going to charge certain people extra cash to get good service while the others are told to suck eggs. It's hopeless folks, really it is. This government is gone. It is completely and totally out of control and cannot be stopped.

Sec 530 - The secretary of Labor shall determine if employers are paying aliens the "correct" amount.

O: See previous note.

Sec 531 - Visa applications shall have background checks included.

O: Guess that's just optional now. That explains a lot.

Sec 532 - Visas may be renewed.

Subtitle C
Sec 541 Title: "Hurricane Katrina Victims Immigration Benefits Preservation Act."

O:

Okay, that's it. I can't take any more. I've been reading this for about 6 hours now on 3 different days. This is only 427 pages into this 790-page pile of horse doo-doo. This last section is to give "special status" to illegal bastards because they happened to be somewhere below sea-level when a hurricane hit? This government seriously sucks. Any Senator who votes for this bill seriously hates freedom. Supporters of this bill, no matter their political party, are voting for complete and total government control of, well, everything. And notice -- I haven't even gotten to the part that gives total and complete amnesty to the 30 million illegals already in the country (and allows them to bring in another 120 million free).

I'm sorry, I know some of you were looking for the entire bill here. I just couldn't do it. The damn thing is so full of crap that even I cannot stand it any more. If this bill passes, and I'm not just blowing smoke here, say goodbye to America -- at least as a free country and a representative republic.

If this passes, you will be able to tell your grandchildren that you were able to witness the fall of America. We had a good run, but I guess this is it.

Ogre's Not Here

Yes, it's time once again to teach small children to use firearms! Hooray, firearms!

Ogre is off to the North Carolina mountains to teach boys age 7-10 how to shoot guns. And yes, the kids absolutely love it. I know Democrats and their pals absolutely hate it, but they can't stop me (yet). And if I can arm enough of these kids, maybe we'll have more people armed for government resistance when it's needed (sadly when, not if). And I'd be remiss if I didn't include the classic folk tale:

Interviewer: "So, LTG Reinwald, what are you going to do with these young boys on their adventure campout?"

LTG Reinwald: "We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting."

Interviewer: "Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?"

LTG Reinwald: "I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the range."

Interviewer: "Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?"

LTG Reinwald: "I don't see how, we will be teaching them proper range discipline before they even touch a firearm."

Interviewer: "But you're equipping them to become violent killers."

LTG Reinwald: "Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?"

End of the interview

Peaceful Resistence

It's happening more and more these days. People are resorting to more acts of resistence to the US government. But the government isn't getting the hint. This country keeps moving downhill.

United Methodist Church

Ogre used to be a member of the United Methodist Church. One day someone asked me to take a good, hard look at the church organization. I looked and asked questions -- and then I left that church. Why? Because not only does the church disagree with me, they were using my donations to the church to support causes that were actively working against me.

This church continues it's liberal actions, in active opposition to a free America.

This church supports homosexual unions, in direct conflict with the Bible. This church takes money from donations to individual churches and gives it to anti-gun groups that lobby to remove the right to bear arms. Now, the leaders of this church organization are claiming that America is the same as Nazi Germany.

Now while I'll agree that America is no longer the land of the free, and America is no longer a representative republic, that flag is still a symbol of freedom. But this example of the religious LEFT shows the utter contempt for not only America, but for freedom. These people honestly believe that only they can determine all that is good and right -- and it's not what you think is good and right.

But you make your own decisions when it comes to religion -- while you are still permitted by government to do so. I'm just suggesting that if you're a member of a church, take a good, long look at what that church is doing -- and not just on a local level, but look at their leaders on the national level: it's your money they're using for whatever they do. Unlike the US government, you can withhold your money when you disagree with their actions.

Abusive Lending

It's big news! The federal reserve chairman is going to "crack down" on this horrible problem of "abusive mortgage lending." Then everything will be wonderful. People won't be poor any more. And it's for the children. Isn't this great?

I just have one question -- what is "abusive lending?"

If I'm hungry and borrow $10 from you so I can buy lunch at McDonalds, and I agree to pay you back $12 tomorrow, is that "abusive lending?" What if you tell me that you'll only give me the $10 if I pay you back $20? But what if I'm really hungry and have the money and WANT to pay you the $20? What if you will only give me the $10 if I pay you back $100 tomorrow -- but I REALLY want the Big Mac, and I'm willing to give you the $100 tomorrow. Is THAT "abusive lending?"

What if I own a house and am renting it to someone? What if my mortgage payments are $750 a month, but I charge them $1000 a month? Is that "abusive?" How about if they want to buy the house from me and I agree -- but still charge them $1000 a month (which they've been paying and can afford)? Does that reach the magical threshold of "abusive lending?" Or how about if I charge them $1,001?

In order for their to be ANY level called "abusive lending," there has to be a level that is "correct" lending. However, in a free economy, there absolutely can be no such thing. How much is a rock worth? It's worth whatever the person who wants the rock is willing to pay. So if there's to be a "correct" level of lending, that can only be an arbitrary number, enforced by government with guns. So much for any concept of economic freedom.

Eminent Domain in NC

The NC Property Rights Coalition is reporting that HB878 has moved! Well, it's moved from one committee to another, so we'll see. A standard tactic of the Democrats who run the state government (and have for LITERALLY over 100 years) is to shift bills around they don't like and let them die in committee. That way the Democrats don't have to vote and go on record as opposing things people like, and they still get their way.

This time, however, the bill has gone to a committee that has as it's chairman a sponsor of the bill. So the bill SHOULD get a vote -- if the chairman (Dan Blue) really supports the bill. You see, if he signed on as a sponsor in order to claim he supports the bill, it will go nowhere. However, if he actually supports the bill, it will move quickly -- he gets to decide.

We shall wait and see if he supports the bill only because it will help him get re-elected.
