The Israel Defense Forces on Wednesday two said two men identified as Al Jazeera journalists who were killed in a strike in southern Gaza's Rafah earlier this week were members of terror organizations in the Strip. In Sunday's strike in Rafah, Hamza Wael Dahdouh, the son of Al Jazeera's Gaza correspondent Wael Dahdouh, and Mustafa Thuria, a video stringer for AFP who was also working for the Qatar-based TV outlet, were both killed. A third journalist, Hazem Rajab, was seriously wounded, Al Jazeera said. The strike was carried out after the IDF said it spotted a terror operative piloting a drone in a way that endangered Israeli forces, and subsequently hit a car they were in.
After initially appearing to walk back the claim the pair were with a terror operative, the IDF said its intelligence confirmed both were members of Gaza-based terror groups and were "actively involved in attacks against IDF forces." It said Thuria was identified by a document found by troops in Gaza as a member of Hamas's Gaza City Brigade, serving as a deputy squad commander in one of the battalions.

The first son appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California for his arraignment after he was indicted by a federal grand jury in December on nine tax-related charges, including three felonies. "Between 2016 and October 15, 2020, the Defendant individually received more than $7 million in total gross income," it continues. "This included in excess of $1.5 million in 2016, $2.3 million in 2017, $2.1 million in 2018, $1 million in 2019 and approximately $188,000 from January through October 15, 2020. In addition, from January through October 15, 2020, the Defendant received approximately $1.2 million in financial support to fund his extravagant lifestyle."

As part of the deposition, Giuffre was provided with a list of names and was asked which ones she was not trafficked to as a teenager. "Number 7, Gwendolyn Beck," she replies, according to the transcript. "I wasn't trafficked to her, she was just part of some of the trafficking." An attorney asks Giuffre what Beck's involvement was, to which the victim replies: "She was involved in some of the orgies."Bob Menendez, meanwhile, was "multitasking" to please his handlers in Qatar and Egypt and keep the bribes coming.
The attorney then asks Giuffre, "What gentlemen were involved in the orgies with you and Ms. Beck?" "As far as I can recall, Jeffrey Epstein," she replies. ... The updated indictment, released last week, adds more layers to an already complex relationship among the senator, his wife and three businessmen in which favors -- reportedly including Menendez releasing information to Egyptian officials -- were allegedly traded for gold and envelopes crammed with hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash.
The initial indictment, released last fall, made it seem as if Daibes made payments solely to get Menendez to intervene in a bank fraud case against the developer. But the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York now alleges Menendez was multitasking for Daibes -- by also publicly praising Qatar to entice a Qatari sheikh to invest in a property Daibes owns. ... The indictment alleges that between 2018 and 2022, Menendez and his wife "engaged in a corrupt relationship with Hana, Uribe and Daibes" to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes in exchange for Menendez using his "power and influence to protect, to enrich those businessmen and to benefit the government of Egypt" even as Menendez was chair of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee. An updated federal indictment last week gave more details, involving a scheme in which Menendez allegedly made flattering public comments about the Qatari government as a way to encourage a Qatari sheikh to invest in a property that Daibes owned. In exchange Daibes allegedly gave Menendez bribes in the form of cash and gold bars.

"It poisons the jury pool, and it seeks to convict me in the court of public opinion," Menendez said, his voice wavering at times, adding, "The sensationalized allegations are now creating a rising call for my resignation, despite my innocence, and before a single piece of evidence has even been introduced in a court of law." But Menendez also railed against the allegations themselves, insisting that he has long criticized both Qatar and Egypt over human rights abuses and other issues and that he was not bribed by actors in the country. Prosecutors allege the senator took money and gold bars while knowing he was expected to perform acts that would benefit the Qatari government and help another defendant, Fred Daibes, get a multimillion-dollar investment from a fund tied to that government. Menendez knew he was expected to take actions that would help Qatar to induce a Qatari investment company to invest with Daibes, officials say.

The motion, filed on behalf of defendant Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign official, seeks to have the charges against Roman dismissed and for Willis, Wade and the entire DA's office to be disqualified from further prosecution of the case. Pallavi Bailey, a Willis spokeswoman, said the DA's office will respond to Roman's allegations "through appropriate court filings." Dr. Anthony Fauci confessed to lawmakers Tuesday that guidelines to keep six feet of separation -- ostensibly to limit the spread of COVID-19 -- "sort of just appeared" without scientific input. Fauci, 83, revealed to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic that the "six feet apart" recommendation championed by him and other US public health officials was "likely not based on scientific data," according to Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), who is also a physician. Schools nationwide remained closed well into the second year of the pandemic as a result of the social distancing guidelines, which were disputed by both research studies and other health officials. "It never struck me that six feet was particularly sensical in the context of mitigation," Dr. Ashish Jha, the dean of the Brown University School of Public Health who served as President Biden's COVID response coordinator for 15 months, told the New York Times in March 2021.
"I wish the CDC would just come out and say this is not a major issue." ... A top White House adviser to two presidential administrations, Fauci's transcribed interview before the House COVID panel "revealed systemic failures in our public health system and shed light on serious procedural concerns with our public health authority," according to Wenstrup. Those "failures" included foisting vaccination mandates on schools and businesses. "After two days of testimony and 14 hours of questioning, many things became evident. During his interview today, Dr. Fauci claimed that the policies and mandates he promoted may unfortunately increase vaccine hesitancy for years to come," Wenstrup said. "It is clear that dissenting opinions were often not considered or suppressed completely. Should a future pandemic arise, America's response must be guided by scientific facts and conclusive data."

"They wash their hands of any sort of responsibility, saying, 'Oh, those decisions were made by school districts.' But the school districts know, if you don't follow the guidance that's coming out of the federal government, you open yourselves up to lawsuits," Cloud said of Fauci and other US pandemic response officials.

Reliably left-wing Richard Dreyfuss, whose politics are about as left as they go in polite company, actually noticed the profound, malign effect this policy will have on the rapidly decaying "art" of film. How is that going to work? If I make a movie about the Holocaust, set in a concentration camp, must I use black actors to satisfy the quota? How about if I make a movie about the West African slave trade? Do I have to use Asian or Hispanic actors? This is a natural progression of a society so mired in equity and inclusion and affirmative action and a dozen other buzzwords that mean nothing other than a complete rejection of the concept of a color-blind society. But it is in some ways a blessing, because it will hasten the collapse of the movie industry by mandating every insane racial/ethnic/sexual group except quality. That's fine with me. Hollywood and the movies they make have been a caustic influence on America for a very long time. It is long past the time that America recognizes that fact and punishes the industry by simply not going to their crappy post-modern, multi-culti indoctrination sessions masquerading as movies.

The rules set by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will take effect in 2024. When posing the question to Dreyfuss, Firing Line host Margaret Hoover said, "Starting in 2024, films will be required to meet new inclusion standards to be eligible for the Academy Awards for Best Picture. They'll have to have a certain percentage of actors or crew from under-represented racial or ethnic groups."

Just as they’ve gotten back into schools, American kids everywhere are being placed in classrooms with even more illegal migrant kids who don’t speak the language, don’t share our customs, are in high-risk circumstances linked with bad classroom behavior, and whose trafficking into America is swelling the fortunes of evil cartels.Well, there's "three years of lockdown learning damage" and 40-60 years of Leftist brainwashing at the hands of these very same schools. Schools that turned out Claudine Gays and Barack Obamas by the hundreds of thousands, but that's another story. While the lockdowns that the author mentioned did have deleterious effects to a certain extent on America's children, they were probably better off being home by orders of magnitude by not being exposed not only to the Marxist indoctrination but the diseased tumescent genitals of men posing as women in the girls locker rooms, among other things. Police entered the Presidential Palace of Poland to arrest politicians of the recently dethroned right-wing government, after a fresh ruling by a court friendly to the new government. Former Polish Home Affairs Minister Mariusz Kamiński and deputy Maciej Wąsik were arrested by police on Tuesday, apparently part of a push to tie up loose ends by the newly installed globalist-centrist Donald Tusk government. The pair were taken by officers at the Presidential Palace after President Andrej Duda himself had left the building to attend a meeting. Duda has expressed his outrage at the “brutal” arrest of politicians at the official building, saying “I won’t rest until Minister Mariusz Kamiński and his colleagues are free people again, as they should be, until they are released from prison”. The President says the arrests were illegal. Poland’s recently unseated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawicki also spoke out against the arrests, praising his country’s post-Cold War achievements of ending political persecution, saying in the 35 years since the end of the Soviet Union “no one was persecuted in our country because of their political views, and no political prisoners were held”. This has now changed, he said, continuing: “For the first time since the dark days of totalitarian rule we have political prisoners in Poland. They are the former Interior Minister Mariusz Kamiński and deputy Maciej Wąsik. “Both are members of the Polish Parliament. Both fought against communists. Both fought for justice in a free Poland… unfortunately, both are victims of political revenge, targeted by Donald Tusk’s government.” Morawicki said the arrests were a “flagrant” breach of Polish law and the Constitution and was an abuse of power by the new government. He said: “and this is happening in a major European Union country in the 21st century… this is a source of great shame”. Minister Mariusz Kamiński, who was an anti-communist activist during the Soviet era and a Parliamentarian since the 1990s was dismissed from government and charged with abuse of power during the last Donald Tusk government in 2010 over the Polish Land scandal that had brought down the previous government. Kamiński and Wąsik denied the charges but were eventually convicted five years later, however the ruling was immediately annulled by President Andrzej Duda, who pardoned the pair and two others. Whether this pardon was legally permissible has gone back and forth between different courts with different allegiances. A fresh ruling found them guilty again last week and arrest warrants were issued, yet even that was quickly followed by another court finding stripping the Parliamentarians of their protections was unlawful. The second ruling, and another finding the first court doesn’t have the power to overturn Presidential pardons anyway, seem to have been ignored. Coincidentally, that ruling for arrest came the same day in December 2023 as Polish police entered the Warsaw television studio of TVP and the channel went off the air, one of the more remarkable events of the new Tusk government so far.I can just imagine cancer hostage-taker Jamie Raskin belching out something like what's going on in Poland is what "Trump and his army of extreme-MAGA white supremacist insurrectionists" were planning on doing on 1/6/21. Gen Z'ers Are So Unprepared for Job Interviews That They're Bringing Their Mommies and Daddies to The Interviews to Help Them
Helicopter parenting has reached a new level. Employers are going above and beyond to not hire recent college graduates in favor of older workers, a new survey found. The survey uncovered many reasons why older applicants are preferred -- including that Gen Z jobseekers are even bringing mom and dad to interviews. In December, Intelligent, an online magazine focused on student life, surveyed 800 managers, directors and executives involved in the hiring process. It found that 39% of employers actively avoid hiring recent college graduates for roles they're qualified for. Out of the 800 people surveyed, a startling one in five (19%) said a recent college graduate brought a parent with them to their job interview. But that's not the only aspect stopping employers from hiring Gen Z applicants. One in five employers say that recent college graduates are "unprepared" for interviews -- and are often unprofessional. Fifty-three percent of employers surveyed said that recent college graduates struggle with eye contact, 50% said they ask for unreasonable compensation, 47% said they don't dress appropriately for interviews, and 21% said they refuse to turn their cameras on for virtual interviews. But Diane M. Gayeski, a professor of strategic communications at Ithaca College, suggested that these behaviors aren't entirely their fault -- a lot of it is circumstantial. "Employers need to recognize that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, young people graduating from college had more than two years of disruption in their education as well as their social and professional development," Gayeski said in the report. "Current seniors were in their freshman year at the height of COVID. They likely took classes online and were unable to participate in clubs, internships or summer jobs."This is nonsense. Yes, younger people will have experienced social retardation due to the covid lockdowns. But by age 18-19 -- which is what we're talking about here, as these are just-graduated morons -- your social development is mostly complete. You're not still learning how to speak with people and hold their gaze.
Additionally, 63% of those involved in hiring claimed that recent college grads can't manage their workload, 61% said they are frequently late to work, 59% claimed they often miss deadlines, and 53% noted that they are frequently late to meetings.See the article for more. Roughly 40 Department of Education buses were in the evacuation, according to the OEM. The asylum seekers spent the night in the school's gymnasium before returning to Floyd Bennett Field on Wednesday morning, officials said. The field began housing about 2,000 migrants last year. ... The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals pushed back this week on a Biden administration effort to tighten regulations on dishwashers and washing machines. In 2022, President Joe Biden issued an executive order on his first day in office that led to the Department of Energy replacing a less strict Trump-era rule on those appliances with a more stringent rule for energy and water use. Critics lamented the much longer amount of time needed for cleaning under the Biden rule and said Americans were paying more for the appliances that left the clothes and dishes less clean. "This decision allows manufacturers to build better dishwashers, not be encumbered by counterproductive federal regulations," said Devin Watkins, an attorney for the Competitive Enterprise, a group that helped lead the pushback on the Biden administration's new rule. The critics filed suit against the Biden administration, and the court ruled in against the Biden administration, suggesting the DOE violated federal law with its effort and may not have legal standing to regulate the appliances nearly as much as the agency has claimed. The court ruled that it "is unclear that DOE has statutory authority to regulate water use in dishwashers and clothes washers." "But even if DOE has water-usage authority over the relevant appliances, the Department...failed to adequately consider the negative consequences of the Repeal Rule, including the substitution effects of energy-and-water-wasting rewashing, prewashing, and handwashing," the court ruled. President Joe Biden's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is investigating video platform Rumble for undisclosed reasons, the agency confirmed to Wired on Monday. The SEC's acknowledgment of the investigation to Wired comes after an April report by investment research firm Culper Research alleging that Rumble boosts measurements of its monthly active users (MAU) by 66% to 108%, which the company vehemently denies. Culper Research disclosed its "short" position on Rumble at the time of the report's release, indicating potential profit if Rumble's stock falls.This observer says the short seller -- someone who bets on the price of a stock falling (and who will suffer major losses if the stock price rises) -- is making up a negative story and feeding it to the SEC, so that the SEC will then investigate the company -- and cause Rumble's stock price to fall, thereby making the short seller rich.

Food & Drug Administration, in which it considered a challenge to the FDA's denial of vaping product applications. By a vote of 10-6, the court handed the FDA a substantial loss, and deepened the circuit split over the FDA's handling of vaping product applications.

Over several years, the Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") sent manufacturers of flavored e-cigarette products on a wild goose chase. First, the agency gave manufacturers detailed instructions for what information federal regulators needed to approve e-cigarette products. Just as importantly, FDA gave manufacturers specific instructions on what regulators did not need. The agency said manufacturers' marketing plans would be "critical" to the success of their applications. And the agency promulgated hundreds of pages of guidance documents, hosted public meetings, and posted formal presentations to its website--all with the (false) promise that a flavored-product manufacturer could, at least in theory, satisfy FDA's instructions. The regulated manufacturers dutifully spent untold millions conforming their behavior and their applications to FDA's say-so. Then, months after receiving hundreds of thousands of applications predicated on its instructions, FDA turned around, pretended it never gave anyone any instructions about anything, imposed new testing requirements without any notice, and denied all one million flavored e-cigarette applications for failing to predict the agency's volte face. Worse, after telling manufacturers that their marketing plans were "critical" to their applications, FDA candidly admitted that it did not read a single word of the one million plans. Then FDA denied that its voluminous guidance documents and years-long instructional processes meant anything. Why? Because, the agency said, it always reserved the implied power to ignore every instruction it ever gave and to require the very studies it said could be omitted, along with the secret power to not even read the marketing plans it previously said were "critical." ... FDA justifies its behavior with two principal arguments. First, FDA argues that its years' worth of regulatory guidance was not worth the paper it was printed on because it was hedged with cautious qualifiers and never guaranteed that any particular submission would be granted. Second, and most disturbingly, FDA argues that its capriciousness should be forgiven as harmless because the agency promises to deny petitioners' applications even if we remand to make the agency follow the law. Today we reject both propositions. As the Supreme Court recently reminded us: "If men must turn square corners when they deal with the government, it cannot be too much to expect the government to turn square corners when it deals with them." Niz-Chavez v. Garland, 593 U.S. 155, 172 (2021). No principle is more important when considering how the unelected administrators of the Fourth Branch of Government treat the American people. And FDA's regulatory switcheroos in this case bear no resemblance to square corners.
