Actually, he was not "unhoused" or "homeless" He had what appears to be a cozy little hut, with some furniture, and even pictures on the walls. Much nicer than the run of the mill bum nest. He was not unhoused; he was unhousable, by virtue of the fact of being a raging alcoholic who would not subject himself to the discipline necessary to earn the wherewithal necessary to be able to afford housing, nor submit to the rules imposed by the naive do-gooders who provide free housing to bums.

Now 'unhoused' is less descriptive than homeless as it is more vague. You may ask whose house is he unhoused from? Was he dehoused as in evicted? Thrown out by the owner as a nuisance or drunk. Was he ever housed? Too vague.
'Home less' tells you right there almost with mathematical accuracy. Home is where the heart is, etc.
To be exact it should be 'homeleast' as the person has no home, zero home, nada. Totally exposed to the elements of wind and water (and fire if we count the Sun). I'm not sure about earth, I'll need to consult other alchemists and perhaps Druids.
HOWEVER the 'less' may confuse into thinking it's just a downgrade, as in going from 3 bathrooms to two bathrooms. No such confusion with 'least'.
How about 'roofed' and 'roofless'. Roofies ..... wait, ... that's a pill?

Consider switching to the 120 volt motor I have, which came out of a washing machine. Oh. It's 2 speed, needs a starting capacitor, and I don't know the wire color assignments. Back in the box. Well, I have a 240 volt outlet, lets put the right plug on the other motor and try it on 240 volts. Whirrr, SNAP! It started under load just fine, the bandsaw blade made a few revolutions, and the rubber tire on the rear idler wheel disintegrated, causing it to throw the blade. Fortunately no damage to me, or the blade, but I am shut down until I can get new tires for all three wheels on the machine. Seems they are available, in urethane.

But once he took a deep dive into my record, and saw a low rank on 'Equal Opportunity' on ONE F'n evaluation... HE was the one who confirmed what I had already discovered.... non promotable.... no matter what.

Consolidated worked on, and FLEW a test bed, nuclear B-36 "Peacemaker".
It worked, but the lead shielding to protect the flight decks from the reactor ate up so much of the Gross Weight Rating, that the damn thing had (at best) marginal payload to fly the intended missions.
And that was the end of THAT.
(IIRC, that only-one-in-the-world reactor is one of hundreds and hundreds of de-fueled reactors buried at the Hanover, WA nuke site.)

I've mentioned this previous, but the energy density (per kg) of jet fuel is higher than the best you can theoretically get with the latest wiz-bang electrical batteries, AND, as a plane flies it uses up fuel, lightening the load, while with electric you have to haul the battery weight the entire distance...

That is an I.T. failure.
My primary in the '90s was the electronic Gate Entry system, to the employee parking.
If there was a conflict, it was backed up by video, archived a month at a time.
Proved out to be bulletproof, too. Won a couple "unemployment" protests, with that evidence.

I have mentioned this before, and you can check it out, but there is more hydrogen in a gallon of gasoline than there is in a gallon of liquid hydrogen. Not a whole lot more, but definitely more. Jet fuel, I think, would be a toss-up. But in either case, the gallon of hydrocarbon fuel is going to contain a lot more energy, because you have the heat of combustion of that hydrogen, plus the heat of combustion of all that carbon.

I'll find a good double-pole toggle switch to interrupt both hots of the 240-volt line, and mount that in the cabinet, with a wire to the motor, and one to a 240 volt, 20-amp plug. I have a compatible outlet in the garage here, and a heavy-duty extension cord that will reach anywhere in the house. And I will put a power bar on the outside of the cabinet to run the 120-volt tools, the bench grinder and the drill press.

I was living in the 'burbs in the early '80s; seem to recall some flakes in Jan. of '85. The mercury thudded down to 13 on Christmas Eve '83, but no snow.
The big snowfall was 2-3 days before Xmas in '89. Stuff fell and stuck around for two days because the temp never rose above freezing. Took me two hours to get home from work. And all the people who didn't wrap their pipes after the last freeze had them freeze and burst again.
It snowed at New Year's of '64, I think, my first kidhood experience of it.
