MERRY CHRISTMAS!
(HT: CBD)NOTE: We had Christmas services at church last night, so I'll be around all morning...
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests." -- Luke 2:8-14 (NIV)

I understand that you're in the sales profession. I'm in sales also. What do you sell?' 'I'll tell you, but you're going to laugh,' she replied. 'No, I won't.' 'Well, if you must know,' she answered, 'I work for Tampax.' With that, he laughed so hard he lost his balance and fell off the bar stool. 'See,' she said. 'I knew you'd laugh!' 'That's not what I'm laughing at,' he replied, 'I'm a salesman for Preparation H, so I'm still a hole behind you.' (H/T AZ deplorable moron)

Last time, I noted a bunch of movies I had gone to in the recent weeks, and ran out of room: At casa 'gique, we're back to pre-lunacy moviegoing levels, for as long as movie theaters manage to stay open.

"Everybody act natural."

Dear KT Thanks as always for the gardening thread. No flowers for Christmas but I hadn't sent Mrs. R a bouquet in a while so ordered these from the Green Griffin. She's been taking care of her Mom with COPD (a full time job) and deserves so much more than flowers. Merry Christmas! Rodent

- Sony has decided it will not be removing Discovery Channel content that its customers had "bought" on the PlayStation Network.... Yet. (Notebook Check)
Of course, if they can remove it, you haven't bought it.
Streaming content licenses are rarely perpetual, which means that content "bought" on secondary platforms can vanish at any time. That's bad enough if the secondary platform offers refunds, but Sony isn't even bothering to do that.
This is why the studios want to destroy physical media. Already Disney has stopped shipping Blu-Rays or DVDs to Australia.
Which is no loss for Disney's current offerings, but their back catalog is a different matter.

Christmas in Iceland,
with some light volcanic activity in background

The set decorator did his job. A compilation of Christmas cartoons and specials. Rudolph's at 25:00, Santa Claus is Coming to Town (the Santa origin movie) is at 1:16:40, and Little Drummer Boy is at 2:08. I can't find a full copy of Year Without a Santa Claus, but here's the part everyone remembers.
The Grinch is here, but with a distracting watermark.
House Christmas lights synced to Christmas Wrapping. No, it's not the house I always link. It's a different one.

According to leftwing agitprop operation Vox, calling attention to rampant anti-semitism on the left is "weaponizing anti-semitism."

All told, then-Vice President Biden emailed Schwerin 35 times before and after his 2014 trips to Ukraine. Five emails were exchanged just prior to a trip by Vice President Biden to Ukraine on June 7, 2014, and 27 emails were sent from the end of June to a second trip to Ukraine by Biden on Nov. 21, 2014. The bulk of the communication occurred in the lead-up to and following an agreement for Hunter Biden to serve on the board of the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma. But I'm sure it was all just talk about the weather. And trains, probably. And graft. A federal district judge has invalidated most of the state's new "gun free zones." Obviously, California attempted to make virtually the entire state a "gun free zone." A judge said, Nah brah, your brain is emotional and gay right now, you need to sit down and get your head straight before you make any more decisions.
In a 43-page opinion handed down late Wednesday, Carney described SB 2 as "repugnant to the Second Amendment, and openly defiant of the Supreme Court." The law "turns nearly every public place in California into a 'sensitive place,'" according to Carney, "effectively abolishing the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding and exceptionally qualified citizens to be armed and to defend themselves in public." Carney ruled in favor of the gun owners and Second Amendment organizations who brought the May v. Bonta and Carralerro v. Bonta litigation on every one of their challenges; granting an injunction against the following "gun-free zones" established under SB 2: Hospitals, mental health facilities, nursing homes, medical offices, urgent care facilities, and other places where medical services are customarily provided,
Public transportation
Establishments where "intoxicating liquor" is sold for consumption on the premises
Public gatherings and special events
Playgrounds and private youth centers
Parks and athletic facilities
Department of Parks and Recreation and Department of Fish and Wildlife property, except hunting areas,
Casinos and gambling establishments
Public libraries, zoos, and museums
Places of worship
Financial institutions
Privately-owned businesses open to the public
Parking areas (including those adjacent to "sensitive places" not challenged by the plaintiffs)
Damn, Milei laid it down pretty directly in his address to Argentina. Assuming the translation is accurate: ... the problem is not the chef, but the recipe. Those ideas that failed in Argentina are the same ideas that have failed throughout the planet because everywhere they've been tried, they've been an economic failure, they have been a social failure, they have been a cultural failure. On top of that, it has cost the lives of millions of human beings, that doctrine that some could call left-wing, socialism, communism, fascism and that we like to classify as collectivism; is a form of power that dilutes the individual in favor of the power of the state, and is the basic foundation of the caste model. It is a doctrine of thought which is based on the premise that the state is more important than the individuals that make up the nation. That the individual is only recognized if he submits to the state and that, therefore, we citizens owe obsolescence to its representatives: the political caste. Posted by: Joe Mannix
Apparently there was another case of a congressional staffer making gay sex tapes. The staffer "quietly" left his position in 2022. Apparently he worked for a Republican, Dan Newhouse. But Semafor says the sex tapes are still floating around in the intertubes. Apparently the identity of the man making the videos can't be confirmed, though his identity is suspected. Newhouse's office investigated and found no violation. Probably due to the difficulty of identifying exactly who is on the tape.
Mark Zuckerberg is building a super-secret Villain Lair in Hawaii.
Environmentalism for you, indulgent opulence that would make the Bourbon kings blush for moi. Ugh. Some women have really, really been broken by social media. In this story, I'm not that concerned about whatever mysterious behavior that took place in a bathroom stall during a Christmas party got her fired from work. It was either sex or drugs, obviously. That happens. (Though it happens less often at a nursery Christmas party.) What is bizarre to me is that she rushed to social media to brag about getting fired, and to complain that the other person involved in the scandalous bathroom behavior didn't get fired, too. Leftwing women really, really want to be INTERNET STARS! and believe anything they do, no matter how disgraceful or revolting, is fuel for their TikTok rocketship to fame.
If you want to know what's going on with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's massive Koolau Ranch compound on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, there's no use asking anyone involved in its construction -- they're all bound by strict nondisclosure agreements. According to an anonymous former contract employee who was willing to risk life and limb -- not really (?!?) -- to talk to Wired, "It's fight club. We don't talk about fight club." More ominously, he added, "Anything posted from here, they get wind of it right away." ... Sources differ on the size and expense of Zuckerberg's compound. In its exposé last week, Wired claimed it spans 1,400 acres. Still, The Guardian reported two years ago that Zuckerberg had just spent $17 million adding another 110 acres to his property that already covered 1,500 acres. Even before then, "Zuckerberg angered neighbors" by building "a 6ft stone wall around his property that blocked easy access to Pila'a Beach." ...
According to [a twitter source who provides drone pictures of the site], Zuck's compound "leaves a mark that's hard to reconcile with nature's blueprint. A bridge over what was once unspoiled river. Clear-cut forests paint a different picture of 'protection.'" His feed is a fascinating read, including tidbits about a smaller-scale "bunker" being built on nearby Maui by none other than Oprah Winfrey.
She posts this picture of herself, which makes her look like some kind of bizarre demon Lolita. And given the amount of careful curation these internet thots put into the photos they publish, the effect was intentional.
A woman claimed she was "sacked" after attending a holiday party her job threw, revealing on TikTok the termination letter she received from her boss. The woman, who goes by Molly, posted a sound clip from the hit movie "The Hangover" along with Flo Rida's "Right Round" as she promised she'd "behave at the staff party." ... Molly's former employer told the woman, who did not reveal her occupation, that she "risked putting the reputation of the nursery into disrepute. "This amounts to gross misconduct. As you are still on your probationary period, I had no option but to terminate your contract of employment with immediate effect," the letter added. ... She admitted there was allegedly somebody else involved and mentioned they "played an equal part in what happened," though that person got to keep their job.

Speaker Mike Johnson and daughter were profiled attending 'purity ball' in 2015 German TV news segment The unearthed segment is the latest example of Johnson's deeply held views. By Will Steakin"Unearthed." This is a lie. It was handed to them by Democrat black operators. The "unearthing" consisted of ABC "News" clicking on a file that one of their favorite Democrat dirt merchants sent them.
December 20, 2023, 12:59 PM Years before Mike Johnson would ascend to No. 2 in the presidential line of succession, a German TV news outlet profiled the future speaker of the House and his then-teenage daughter. "This looks like a wedding," a news reporter says in German in a 2015 n-tv news segment that was unearthed by ABC News. "But they are not bride and groom -- but rather father and ... daughter," the reporter adds, referring to Johnson and his then-13-year-old daughter, Hannah.
These people know that family members dance non-sexually all the time, right? They know that the father traditionally dances with the bride at a wedding, right? It is a sign of the fathomless perversions of the left that they see a daughter and a father at an event and immediately think: "Incest." Because, of course, that's what they'd be doing.
The German news segment documented Johnson and his family preparing for and then attending a purity ball, a controversial formal dance event, popular among some conservative Christians, that gained notoriety in the early 2000s. At a typical event, fathers and their teenage daughters dress in formal ball attire for a night that involves dinner and dancing and culminates with the daughter signing a pledge to her father to abstain from dating and to remain sexually abstinent until marriage.
.... The news segment also features interviews with Johnson's daughter, who is now in her 20s, and shows her at the purity ball pledging to her father "to make a commitment to God, myself, my family, my friends, my future husband, and my future children ... to a lifetime of purity, including sexual purity," in between shots of Johnson nodding along in agreement. In one brief interview clip, Johnson's wife Kelly Johnson, a Christian counselor, told the German news outlet, "We don't talk to her about contraception. Sex before marriage is simply out of the question." ... Since growing in popularity in the 1990s and early 2000s, purity balls and purity pledges have faced increased scrutiny from both inside and outside the Christian community, ranging from criticism that the practice places too much of a burden on young women to accusations that the balls themselves objectify young girls.LOL, the left that wants to have "rap seshes" about sex with 7-year-olds is objecting to "objectifying girls."
Johnson's participation in the 2015 news segment is the latest example of the previously little-known legislator's staunchly conservative views, which have informed his political career and rise in Congress.
A Disney-owned subsidiary is objecting to young girls being brought up to be pure and innocent. Times have changed, eh? So you have a choice: Either you can try to teach your little girls sexual restraint or you can expect that they'll be posting on social media about being fired for snorting coke off a coworker's dick in a bathroom during a nursery Christmas party. Choose wisely. You're not going to believe this, but a study -- yes, a study -- has demonstrated that someone's actual sex is a better indicator of their athletic performance than his "gender identity" is. So, like, genes, bone density, muscle mass, and hormones have more of an impact on how strong an athlete is than, say, what kind of Cute Haircut that athlete wears to "present" as female, or which cutesy girl's name the athlete picks as his new fake name.* It's astonishing, cutting edge stuff. But I bet you the I Believe In The Science (TM) brigade won't be believing this particular science.

Whoops! Finished Now
I thought this post was ready for posting.
I wuz wrong. Should be okay now, though.
BELTRAN: So there's been a whole lot of people thinking and theorizing about white supremacy. And all of these scholars share a view that I share, that whiteness is not the same thing as white people and that whiteness is actually better understood as a political project that has emerged historically, and that is dynamic and that is always changing. And so whiteness as an ideology is rooted in America's history of white supremacy -- right? -- which has to do with the legacy of slavery or Indigenous dispossession or Jim Crow. And I think it's important to realize just how long in this country legal discrimination was not simply culturally acceptable but legally authorized. And so we've only been practicing a more consistent form of legal equality for a relatively short time since the 1960s. So Americans have often learned how to create their own sense of belonging through violence and through the exclusion of certain groups and populations. GARCIA-NAVARRO: So what you're saying, essentially, is that people of other races and ethnicities want to benefit from white privilege by supporting it. BELTRAN: Right.
Remember, we're the racist, they're the "anti-racists" teaching us how to be non-racist like they are. By the way, you paid for that racist agitprop. It's state media outlet NPR. Florida pedophile may be the first to face the death penalty.
"ARFU" is working on an editorial praising this pedophile for the "tender rebellion of his sexy love," and declaring him a "modern-day Joan of Arc, armed not with a spear but with rufies and stuffed animals." In more grooming news, NYU is directing students to a website which offers them advice on gender neutral language. Such as referring to children by the approved gender-neutral term "crotch goblins."
An accused pedophile could become the first person in Florida put to death for sexually abusing a child. Prosecutors announced Thursday their intent to seek a capital punishment sentence under a new law for Joseph Andrew Giampa, who was allegedly filmed molesting a young boy. In a statement announcing Giampa's grand jury indictment, the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office noted the "severity of the crime and impact on the community." Giampa, 36, was indicted on six counts of sexual battery of a person under 12 years of age and three counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child. "The decision to pursue the highest penalty reflects the gravity of the charges and the State Attorney's Office's dedication to holding criminals accountable for their actions," State Attorney Bill Gladson said. Giampa was arrested in November after Lake County deputies identified him as the adult roughly raping a young boy in a homemade video that was allegedly found on Giampa's laptop, according to court records. In the video, the man admitted that he knows the child did not enjoy the abuse, but that he "likes it more when [the victim] does not like it." ... The heavy punishment for sex crimes would be the first of its kind in the state under new legislation signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis in May.
A resource cited by New York University includes a "[d]ictionary of gender neutral language" that advocates for calling children "offspring," "spawnlings," and "Crotch Goblins," among other terms. A newsletter sent out by the university's Office of Global Inclusion (OGI) on Dec. 13 features links to three "toolkits": "Faculty Toolkit on Digital Inclusion," "Pronouns," and "Trans Inclusive Practices in the Classroom." ... At the bottom, the page lists resources regarding pronouns, including Pronouns.page, a site dedicated to "creating a source of information about nonbinary and gender neutral language." The site features a "[d]ictionary of gender neutral terms," which recommends gender-neutral terms to use in place of commonly gendered words. The dictionary suggests, among other words, using "postie" in place of "mailman," "mxtress" in place of "master" or "mistress," and "yinz" in place of "you guys." In addition, it proposes gender-neutral terms for grandparents, including "zaza," "grandpab," and "grandwa." Additionally, the site features a glossary of LGBT-related terms, including "axolotlgender," defined as "[a] xenogender in which someone feels a strong connection to axolotls or other salamanders," as well as "catgender," defined as "[a] xenogender in which someone feels an extremely strong connection to cats or other felines ... created for autistic individuals in mind, but anyone may identify with catgender."The LGBT Recruitment Officers have found the pool of vulnerable autistic children ripe for fishing. I would prefer that, instead of indulging autistic children's fantasies (which seem to be behavior learned from other autistic "influencers" on social media), that we taught them to be normal adults. But maybe that's a bridge too far. We're not supposed to divide the world into normal and abnormal, even though that's plainly how it divides up. Fine. But do I have to be dragged into an autistic child's fantasy world? We used to expect the mentally ill or mentally challenged to at least try to act like normal people. Now we are demanding that normal people adopt the worldviews of the mentally ill and mentally abnormal. I'm not insane. Why am I being forced to act as if I were?
... In demonstrating how to use the singular "they," the site quotes the personal website of a poet named Alok Vaid-Menon, using the example text of "ALOK (they/them) is a gender non-conforming writer and performance artist. Their distinctive style and poetic challenge to the gender binary have been internationally renowned." Vaid-Menon has previously come under fire for a now-deleted alleged Facebook post sexualizing young girls. "There are no fairytales and no princesses here," Vaid-Menon allegedly wrote. "Little girls are also queer, trans, kinky, deviant, kind, mean, beautiful, ugly, tremendous, and peculiar. Your kids aren't as straight and narrow as you think they are. Like everybody else. I've been a cute little girl."They drive harder towards sexualizing children than LT trying to sack a quarterback. The Virginia Supreme Court ordered the reinstatement of a teacher who had been fired because of a religious objection to using fake genderbender pronouns.
Elon Musk:"DEI must DIE."
Peter Vlaming taught French in the West Point School District for seven years. A female student claiming to be male had a new preferred name. Vlaming used the new preferred name but simply avoided using the student's preferred pronouns. The school demanded he use the student's preferred pronouns, even when the student was not present. "Peter went out of his way to accommodate this student as he does all his students; his school fired him because he wouldn't contradict his core beliefs," Caleb Dalton of the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) had noted. "The school board didn't care how well Peter treated this student. It was on a crusade to compel conformity. He works hard to make his students feel welcomed. In his French class, he always calls his students by the name they choose. He even used the student's preferred masculine name and was willing to avoid using pronouns in the student's presence. He just didn't want to be forced to use a pronoun that offends his conscience. That's entirely reasonable, and it's his constitutionally protected right. Tolerance, after all, is a two-way street." "Peter wasn't fired for something he said; he was fired for something he couldn't say," Chris Schandevel of ADF stated after the lawsuit was reinstated. "
Elon Musk is apparently not a fan of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs, arguing that such initiatives are destructive and need to be ended. The tech billionaire took to his social media platform, X, on Friday to declare that "DEI must DIE," saying, "The point was to end discrimination, not replace it with different discrimination."Earlier this month, Republicans introduced legislation to outlaw all discrimination at any college taking federal money.
The College Admissions Accountability Act, introduced by Sen. J.D. Vance (R., Ohio) and Rep. Jim Banks (R., Ind.), would establish a special inspector general within the Education Department--separate from the Office of Civil Rights--to probe potential violations of the colorblind standard set forth in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, which ruled that race-conscious admissions programs violate the 14th Amendment. The bill would also bar schools that flout the decision from receiving any form of federal aid. "Every student in America is entitled to equal protection under the law, regardless of their background," Vance told the Washington Free Beacon. "This bill creates the means necessary to enforce the Court's decision and hold colleges and universities accountable for illegal discrimination on the basis of race." The proposed law comes as universities around the country are combing for loopholes in the affirmative action ban. Some institutions have overhauled their essay prompts to focus on race and identity--even though the Supreme Court said essays couldn't be used as a work-around--while others have advised faculty not to create a "record" of "discriminatory intent" and warned that socioeconomic preferences don't "do the trick demographically." Columbia Law School even announced that it would require short video statements from applicants to provide "insight into their personal strengths." The plan, which would have given admissions officers a visual proxy for race, was junked after the Free Beacon asked Columbia for comment. The proposed bureaucracy, the Office of the Special Inspector General for Unlawful Discrimination in Higher Education, would take direct aim at these evasions. "Following the Court's ruling, several American colleges and universities issued statements or unveiled new policies at odds with its letter and spirit," the bill reads. "Institutions of higher education, including their offices of admission, must comply with the Constitution and laws of the United States, as interpreted by the judiciary." .... "The federal government has given the universities free rein to discriminate against white and Asian students," Christopher Rufo, the conservative activist behind numerous state laws banning critical race theory, said of the bill. "Senator Vance's proposed legislation will put a stop to this."Another female athlete has found her courage and is speaking up about the invasion of girls' sports by brutish men.
Jerry Seinfeld was personally protested about Israel, and told that he, personally, was "complicit in genocide." Remember, this is all about the Israeli government, and not just about harassing Jews in the street.
"There's a lot of money in sports and these coaches, their jobs are dependent on them winning," (female volleyballer) Macy Petty told "Varney & Co." guest host David Asman on Monday. "So, if there's no rules from the NCAA saying that it has to be a female that occupies this female scholarship spot, then they're going to go out and recruit whoever's going to win. Unfortunately, because of biological advantages, they're going to go out and recruit men now." OPINION: ALL ... The NCAA athlete's concerns come as a Division 1 school -- The University of Washington -- reportedly awarded a women's volleyball scholarship to 17-year-old transgender athlete Tate Drageset. ... Petty, like Gaines, is concerned about allegedly stolen opportunities, but shares a slew of other worries, including the risk of physical harm as young women face off against competitors with biological advantages. ... During the Monday segment, Asman pointed to an incident involving a female athlete in California who reportedly suffered long-term injuries after being hit with a ball spiked by a trans athlete. "It's heartbreaking. We're seeing it from coast to coast," Petty replied. "Just last year, we saw something very similar in North Carolina. This is very uncommon for volleyball, but this is what happens when you put men on the court with other female athletes."
Pro-Palestinian protesters marching through downtown Syracuse last week gathered outside the Landmark Theatre to protest comedian Jerry Seinfeld's stand-up show, accusing the star of being "complicit in genocide" over his support for Israel. ... The graphic included in the post read, "No holiday entertainment as usual until Palestine is free!" and encouraged demonstrators to bring artwork, flags and signs. The local DSA chapter coordinated with other groups, including the Syracuse Collective for Palestinian Liberation, the Syracuse chapter of the Party for Socialism and Liberation and the Resilient Indigenous Action Collective. They sound fun.
Boston's mayor arranged for a Christmas party with no white people. The progressive dream is Zimbabwe.
Wu this week defended holding an "elected officials of color only" holiday party after accidentally sending invites to white lawmakers only to rescind them shortly after. "We had individual conversations with everyone, so people understand that it was truly just an honest mistake that went out in typing the email field," Wu told reporters. "I've been a part of a group that gathers, representing elected officials of color across all different levels of government in Massachusetts," she added. "A group that has been in place for more than a decade, and the opportunity to create a space for people to celebrate and rotate who hosts." Wu believes the primary issue is that an email was sent out in error rather than her using her position in government to conduct an exclusionary holiday event under the guise of celebrating diversity while being funded by tax dollars. Progressives like Wu preach inclusion while purposefully excluding people, and promote diversity while encouraging their separation. Despite what Wu says, the real reason they want their own Christmas party has nothing to do with "creating a space" for people of color to celebrate the holiday season. The truth is that it's another way for them to celebrate themselves by pretending they're special for being a minority in government. Minority progressives don't want equality, they want special treatment, and they always want one more than whatever the people without color get: including one more Christmas party.A Fairfax, Virginia school board member -- you know this is going to be bad news -- did not swear his oath of office on a Bible but on a stack of so-called "banned" books, meaning gay pornography deemed not suitable for the school library.
Pennsylvania Democrat Senator Bob Casey praised the "diversity" effort of the CAIR founder who said he was "happy" to see Hamas slaughtering Israeli civilians. (He later claimed he only meant he was happy to see Gaza civilians going into Israel after Hamas terrorists had gone in. Whatever, Terrorist Scum.)
A Fairfax County School Board member was sworn in for a second term on Wednesday on a stack of pornographic LGBTQIA2S books, many of which have been removed from schools for being sexually explicit and inappropriate for children. The Virginia school board member, Karl Frisch, was reportedly sworn in on The Perks of Being a Wallflower, All Boys Aren't Blue, Gender Queer, Lawn Boy, and Flamer. "All Boys Aren't Blue describes graphic sexual encounters involving boys, and Flamer contains sexual interactions. Gender Queer contains images of a boy performing fellatio on another man, as well as images of a boy masturbating," The Daily Caller Foundation pointed out."The images are so graphic that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had his live news feed cut after showing the images during a press conference in March."
Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. Bob Casey heaped praise on the group whose leader recently made controversial remarks about Hamas' brutal invasion of Israel by previously heralding one of its local chapters' dedication to "diversity and equality" and its commitment to fight "discrimination and prejudice" in society. Nihad Awad, the executive director and co-founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), said he was "happy to see" the Oct. 7 Hamas invasion of Israel and that the Jewish state did not have a right to self-defense because it is an "occupying power."A man whose skin tone apparently makes him impossible to photograph has been arrested for an assault that took place at a synagogue. Given the fact that no mechanical means of capturing the image of his face exists, I think I can tell what race he is: Vampire.
Police arrested 33-year-old Brent Wood, who faces charges of simple assault and resisting arrest. The department is investigating the incident as a hate crime, though it stressed that the designation could change and that it does not mean prosecutors will pursue the case as such. The Kesher Israel Congregation was the site of the attack, NBC News4 Washington reported. The suspect yelled, "Gas the Jews" during the attack, the affiliate reported, citing unnamed sources. The media and police are imposing an absolute boycott of photos of this anti-semitic racist, so I feel very comfortable assuming he is a white middle-aged MAGA supporter, the way the media and The Regime like their violent anti-semites. I certainly will not take their utter refusal to run a picture of this man as evidence that he's not white at all!

As Dems Panic over 2024, Washington Post Dredges Up Biden Brothers' Ties to Corrupt Mississippi Lawyer and AssociatesIt had been a whisper. It grew to chatter. This counts as a shout. Not a scream yet. But a shout loud enough to catch the attention of everyone in the room.
Sunday's eye-popping 4,000-word Washington Post report on Biden corruption ties is, to my mind, more indication that a serious move is under way within the top ranks of the Democratic Party establishment to nudge President Joe Biden into bowing out of the 2024 presidential race.
... The timing of the Post's report [is] intriguing. For the president, it will sting for several reasons. First, it's the Post, a pillar of the Democratic administration's Praetorian Guard... Second, the subject matter of the report goes back to the start of Joe Biden's Senate career in the early Seventies (yes, the family business goes back decades), meaning the Post has intentionally dredged up unseemly details about Biden's past that have been vaguely known for decades but that Biden must have figured were long forgotten. Third, the length of the report shows that the Post had to have spent weeks reporting its story; the paper could have dropped this report at any time, but it chose to do so now, when the president and his campaign are reeling. The corruption involves a "legendarily sleazy" plaintiff's lawyer named Richard "Dickie" Scruggs and his henchmen in the Mississippi Democrat party, including:
Steve Patterson (a former head of the Mississippi Democratic Party and top aide to Biden's friend and colleague, the late segregationist senator John Stennis [D., Miss.]), and a lawyer named Tim Balducci.Joe and Jim Biden, and Jim Biden's unindicted co-conspirator wife Sara (remember the checks to Biden issuing from the bank account of Jim and Sara Biden?) were close to these solid citizens and hoped to start a... government lobbying firm with them.
The Bidens are never interviewed by the FBI or DOJ when they are dabbling in bribery schemes.
Scruggs, Patterson, and Balducci were eventually convicted and sentenced to federal prison in a plot to bribe a judge. At the same time that the bribery plot took place, Patterson and Balducci, with Scruggs's encouragement, were on the verge of opening a consultancy and legal partnership with Jim and Sara Biden -- the latter is a lawyer and former congressional staffer. It was contemplated that Hunter Biden would also be a participant. The partnership was scuttled by the bribery scheme. Jim Biden was secretly recorded by the FBI during the corruption investigation, but he was never implicated in the bribery scheme and was not charged -- nor, apparently, was he interviewed in connection with the case.
Scruggs had dreamed up way to sue the tobacco companies -- and pocket tens of millions of lawyer's fees for himself. But he needed buy-in from Joe Biden. The federal government had to bless the scheme, because the government had to approve of the massive settlement Scruggs was extracting from the tobacco companies.
But that's later -- around 2007--08. The beginning of the relationship goes back decades, when, through Senator Stennis, Senator Biden became acquainted with Patterson -- his path, and brother Jim's, to Mississippi Democratic Party connections, which mobilized for Joe's short-lived presidential campaigns in 1987--88 and 2007--08.
McCarthy points out the anticipated, and by this point, rote defense of the Bidens: There is no proof that Joe Biden changed his vote just because people were bribing his brother. Sure.
In mid 1997, Patterson urged Scruggs to speak with Senator Biden and other naysayers. After a meeting with the senator, Scruggs calculated that he would need help winning him over. So he turned to Jim and Sara Biden, who were running a consultancy called "Lion Hall." Scruggs retained Lion Hall, through which he paid Jim Biden $100,000 in $10,000 installments, beginning in April 1988. In the meantime -- mirabile dictu! -- Senator Joe Biden went "from being one of [the tobacco settlement's] biggest critics to becoming one of its leading defenders -- a significant victory for Scruggs," as the Post report puts it. (For readers with a good memory, Jim and Sara maintained a Lion Hall bank account. In 2017, after Hunter pressured his partners at CEFC, an arm of the Communist Chinese regime, to pay the Bidens $5 million -- warning that he was sitting with his father and that they wanted answers -- Hunter took a $400,000 chunk of the haul and transferred $150,000 to Jim and Sara Biden's Lion Hall account. From that $150,000, Sara transferred $40,000 to another account on which she wrote a $40,000 check to Joe Biden -- sounds an awful lot like "ten percent for the big guy," no? -- which was described as a "loan repayment.")
The various corrupt Democrats and Jim Biden prepared to start a "law" firm, which of course would be a lobbying firm dressed up as a law firm. Jim Biden wasn't even a lawyer; his wife is. (That may be why she is always prominent in these deals and schemes.) They made mention of Jim Biden's brother being Joe Biden in their solicitation materials.
The Post further details that, at roughly the same time Jim and Sara Biden were receiving money from Scruggs while Scruggs was trying to influence Senator Biden, Jim and Sara were elsewhere touting that clients would profit from their connections to Senator Biden.... Despite the failure to reach a federal tobacco settlement, Scruggs hit the jackpot by cutting separate deals with the states. The combined $248 billion settlement netted his firm over $300 million in fees. Scruggs maintained his close ties to the Bidens, hosting Joe at the iconic Grove and then in a skybox for an Ole Miss football game; flying Joe on his private jet to a fundraiser in Jackson in 2000; and in 2007, helping launch Joe's bid for the Democratic nomination -- Joe did a talk about his just-released memoir at a bookstore around the corner from Scruggs's law office in Oxford, Miss., and then a fundraiser at the nearby University Club.
Read the rest of the details at the link. The nutshell: Jim Biden's would-be "law" firm partners were handing envelopes containing $20,000 to a judge. The Bidens are never far from bribery. Just one step away. But you know -- there's no evidence that Jim Biden or Joe Biden knew what Jim Biden's partners were doing. Meanwhile, there's more smoke trickling from another hotspot in the Biden Bonfire of Corruption.
Alas, simultaneously with the preparation to launch the firm, Jim and Sara Biden's partners bribed a judge. The scheme drew an FBI probe, resulting in some recordings of Jim Biden (which do not evince knowledge of the bribery scheme on Jim's part).
In a new letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, a bipartisan group of lawmakers from both chambers of Congress is demanding answers regarding U.S. companies that were apparently allowed by the Biden administration to export technology to entities in adversarial foreign countries -- entities with products currently being used in attacks against America's international partners. .... According to the lawmakers' letter, the company raising concerns is Da Jiang Innovations -- DJI -- a Chinese state-owned drone company that has been on the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security's (BIS) Entity List since 2020 when it was found to have "facilitated widespread human rights abuses in the PRC to surveil and monitor Chinese Communist Party (CCP) detention camps in Xinjiang." "This listing recognizes that DJI actively works against America's national security interests, and the issuance of export control licenses to DJI should be prohibited to ensure it cannot benefit from American innovation and ingenuity," the lawmakers emphasized. That seems like a no-brainer, yet DJI has apparently continued to benefit from U.S. technology via such licenses. More from the letter led by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA):But there's "no evidence" that Biden's close relationship with Chinese communist businessmen -- through his son -- has anything to do with his easy-peasy grant of licenses to sell sensitive military technology to the Chinese communist government.Given DJI's placement on the Entity List...American companies cannot export their technology to DJI unless they receive an export license from the U.S. government. Credible industry reports provide evidence of several cases where U.S. components are found inside DJI drones, suggesting that the U.S. government is granting these licenses. For example, in a 2022 LinkedIn post, U.S.-based company CEVA touted that its components are part of a DJI drone. Making the Biden administration's approval of tech export licenses for DJI more concerning is how the CCP drones have been used outside of the genocidal regime's persecution of Uyghurs and other citizens. In addition to its use at detention camps in China, "DJI drones have been exported to America's adversaries for military purposes, in violation of U.S. export laws and sanctions," lawmakers explained. "Most recently, open-source reporting has shown that on October 7, 2023, Hamas used DJI drones to disable Israeli surveillance systems and drop munitions on Israeli forces on the Gaza border." In another theater of chaos, "DJI is also illegally equipping the Russian Federation with drones that Russia's military is deploying on the front lines of their war in Ukraine," lawmakers added. "In a report to Congress on Chinese Military Power, the DoD stated that between March 2022 and 2023, PRC companies exported more than '$12 million worth of drones and drone components to Russia,' which they are using 'for targeting surveillance, and strike missions in Ukraine.'"

I love the smell of leftist dominated institutions burning in the morning.
It's also affecting Yale, which is seeing its lowest rate of students accepting early admission offers since more than 20 years. Non-Ivy top schools like Emory and Duke are seeing many more applications.
A place at Harvard used to be something to boast about -- now students fear it's a stigma. Early applicants who received acceptance letters from the university last week are considering applying elsewhere, The Post has learned. Some are citing concerns about experiencing campus antisemitism, while others worry a Harvard degree could hurt job prospects as employers pledge not to hire its graduates because of the university's handling of anti-Israel protests. This year, the school reported a 17% drop in early applications, representing a four-year low. And the acceptance rate creeped up to 8.7% from 7.6% last year. One driver, according to college admissions consultant Christopher Rim, is students concerned that they may get tainted by the storm around the college's antisemitism problem. ... Rim, the founder and CEO of Command Education, says every single one of his clients who applied early to Harvard this year was accepted -- but that not all of them are satisfied. "Normally, once you get into Harvard, my team and I are done. We're like, 'Great, it's a success, congratulations, goodbye,'" Rim said. But one particular client's family wasn't celebrating. Instead of accepting their offer from Harvard, the student is scrambling to send applications to the remaining Ivy League schools, Stanford, MIT and Emory. The student, who is not Jewish, is applying elsewhere over concerns that going to Harvard might hurt employment prospects. Rim was shocked: "I was like, 'Why would you do Emory if you've already gotten into Harvard?'" ... "This was the first time this concern has ever come up with a client," Rim said. "They told me, 'I just don't like that attention on Harvard if it's going to hurt my child's chances of getting the right job in the future.'"
Employers are warning Harvard students, as well as all students from lunatic asylum schools: we have "zero tolerance" for anti-semitism.
In theory, I object to this form of #Cancellation by well-heeled establishment organizations, quashing thoughts they don't like via economic coercion. But in practice, I don't mind these assholes being forced to wear the same cruel shoes they've forced us to wear for 10 years.
Academics, doctors, lawyers and others are losing their jobs -- and more could find themselves struggling to get hired -- due to antisemitic activism. Since the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, many U.S. employers have grown increasingly wary about prejudice and hatred toward Jews. Some have issued warnings, and others have fired employees for making antisemitic remarks online. "It only makes sense that displaying hatred or animus towards any minority will impact job prospects, because people want a hate-free environment," Rabbi Yaakov Menken, managing director of the Coalition for Jewish Values, told The College Fix. ... Since October, more than 200 law firms have signed onto a letter to top law schools warning students that their firms have "zero tolerance" for antisemitism, according to information provided to The Fix. "As employers who recruit from each of your law schools, we look to you to ensure your students who hope to join our firms after graduation are prepared to be an active part of workplace communities that have zero tolerance policies for any form of discrimination or harassment, much less the kind that has been taking place on some law school campuses," the letter states. The law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, whose Senior Chair Joe Shenker initiated the letter, declined to comment, but a spokesperson directed The Fix to an updated version of the letter, which now lists about 250 law firms. In the letter, the law firms said antisemitic activities -- including campus protests "calling for the death of Jews and the elimination of the State of Israel" -- will not be tolerated in their workplaces. While most universities have not commented publicly on the letter, Jim Rosenblatt, dean emeritus of Mississippi College School of Law, told The American Lawyer that they "will pay attention to it."
Another billionaire is ending, or pausing, his donations to the Hamas front organization "Harvard University."
A billionaire has joined the list of Harvard alumni and donors who are pausing their gifts to the school, which is standing by president Claudine Gay despite accusations of allowing anti-Semitism no campus and plagiarism. Len Blavatnikm, whose family foundation has given the Ivy League at least $270 million, is halting donations to his alma mater until it addresses what they see as 'rampant anti-Semitism on campus,' as first reported by Bloomberg. At the Daily Mail: A new poll shows that people want the presidents of the "Poison Ivies" (catchy!) to resign and go back to just doing antisemitism as a hobby.
A majority of Americans say that the presidents of Harvard and M.I.T. should resign after being humiliated over their antisemitism policies and that public funding should be withdrawn from universities that aren't doing enough to tackle anti-Jewish hate. Those are the damning results of a poll for DailyMail.com as the fall-out from a stormy congressional hearing continues to roil the nation's most prestigious seats of learning. It has already claimed the head of the University of Pennsylvania. And voters have a clear message for Sally Kornbuth, president of M.I.T., and Harvard President Claudine Gay: Go now. Some 56 percent of respondents said they should resign. Only 21 percent backed them to stay in their jobs. And 65 percent, almost two-thirds, said that universities that fail to tackle antisemitism should have their funding withdrawn.
... James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners, which conducted the poll of 1000 likely voters, said: 'Americans are clear that the behavior of university presidents on antisemitism has not been up to the standards they expect. 'These findings highlight the gulf between the university elite and the bulk of the public. 'To the public it is pretty simple: it doesn't require a university degree and a fancy title to identify antisemitism and it should not be ignored or underplayed. If it is then America's view is similarly straightforward: The presidents should go.'

Update: "Low Rent Racist" Cenk Uygur Humiliated
Oh, so Hamas (and all other Palestinian terrorists) have been lying for 70 years.
Would Christian Amanpour care to address this? How about Andrea Bitchell? Remember, they say they shouldn't be censored or deplaformed for their false statements, because when they find out they're false, they rush to correct them. So I'm sure the corrections will be issued promptly.
The head of a Gaza hospital has admitted to being a senior Hamas commander -- and detailed how the terror group transformed the medical site into an operational hub that once housed a kidnapped Israeli soldier. Ahmad Kahlot, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya, made his taped confession to the Israeli security service Shin Bet after his arrest during last week's raid on the facility in northern Gaza. In a video of his interrogation released on X on Tuesday, Kahlot, dressed in an Israeli jail uniform and seated in front of Israel's flag, said he joined Hamas in 2010 and held a rank equivalent to a brigadier general. Kahlot revealed that about 16 hospital staffers, including doctors, nurses, paramedics and clerks, were also members of Hamas' notorious military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. According to the hospital chief, the medical facility under his care had been turned into an elaborate military hub where up to 100 Hamas terrorists had been holed up for days before moving to a different location. Some of the group's leaders even had offices with private phone lines inside the hospital, Kahlot said. "There is a designated space for interrogations, internal security and special security," he revealed. Asked by the Shin Bet interrogator why Hamas' top brass chose the hospital as its bolthole, Kahlot said, "Because from their perspective, the hospital is a safe place. They won't be harmed inside the hospital."
The Biden Junta is now demanding that Israel wrap up the "intense" part of its war -- that is, they want Israel to end the war completely and go back to a victoryless game of defense, absorbing one terrorist attack after another --
in time for presidential campaign season.
White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan reportedly told Israeli leaders Thursday that they should end the "intense" phase of fighting against Hamas in Gaza in the next few weeks -- meaning right before the start of the 2024 presidential election. Biden is known to be suffering politically because of the war, which has split the Democratic Party. Republicans also contend that the war would never have broken out if not for Biden's weak foreign policy; there were no such wars by Hamas against Israel during Donald Trump's four-year tenure. According to the Times of Israel:
US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, who is in Israel today and tomorrow, tells Channel 12 that he and his team held "intense, detailed conversations" with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the war cabinet on when the IDF will transition away from high-intensity fighting in Gaza to focus on lower intensity fighting that would include targeting Hamas's top leaders.
Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant had a different approach, telling Sullivan publicly that the war would last several more months to ensure Hamas was destroyed, at least militarily and administratively.
Netanyahu responds: Fuck you, Jake Sullivan.
But the illegitimate Biden Junta is really pushing for more "humanitarian pauses."
Israel will continue its war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip until the Palestinian terrorist group is completely dismantled, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday evening.
"The war will continue until we destroy Hamas - until victory," Netanyahu said in a recorded statement. "Those who think we will stop is not connected to reality," the prime minister continued. "We are striking Hamas with heavy fire everywhere, including today. We are also striking those who aid Hamas, close or far," Netanyahu said. "Every Hamas terrorist is destined for death. They have only two options: Surrender or die."
The White House on Wednesday said discussions for a humanitarian pause and hostage releases are "very serious" and that humanitarian aid has been able to enter Gaza from Jordan.Update: What an absolute drubbing.
After Uygur retreated to the usual talking points about needing a "two-state solution" and called Israel's supporters -- including Murray -- a "monster" supporting "genocide" and not caring about civilian deaths in Gaza, Murray let him have it after correctly pointing out Uygur is "just a very low-rent racist." "Yes, I do care -- I care very deeply about it," Murray said in response to Uygur's claim that he didn't care about the death of Gazan children. "But I also know that the responsibility for their deaths lies on Hamas which has misgoverned their society for the last 16 years and now has been leading the country into being in a war with Israel. Yes, it's on Hamas, this." In response to Uygur's earlier claim that Murray enjoys covering wars only to root for more death, Murray did not hold back in his evaluation of Uygur's knowledge of what's happening in the Middle East. "As far as I can see, you're very ill-traveled as well as rather ill-lettered and ill-spoken, and I mentioned that I cover wars and go to wars because I happen to think myself that it's worth seeing things with your own eyes including things that you don't particularly like but you report the truth," Murray explained. "I don't know if you ever even leave your own bedroom."Give it a watch. He points out that Uygur only seems to "get animated" in conflicts where Jews are involved. He points out that Uygur, named for the Uygurs being enslaved in China, doesn't speak about the Uygurs. But the moment Jews are involved, Cenk is Uygur On the Spot!

This follows two years of losing a total of a half million residents.
Don't worry, though: Illegal aliens are helping to make up for the losses.California has reached the point of diminishing returns in the socialist game of taking other people's money. The people with the money are fleeing for more hospitable states, and California will soon be begging the US government to tax its citizens and give that money to California.
This year marked the fourth consecutive year of population loss for the Golden State. And although it's slowing from the previous two years, when California lost half a million residents, the federal estimates show that the exodus hasn't stopped. The state's projected net loss comes despite an uptick in foreign immigration that brought 126,000 people into California last year.
The LA Times, an organization which certainly knows who butters its bread, is alarmed at all the high-income Californians (read: the people whose parties they wish they were invited to) are fleeing the state, and taking their tax revenues with them.
The census analysis comes as California's Democratic leaders face a $68 billion deficit next year, exacerbated in part by high numbers of wealthy people leaving the state for lower taxes and cost of living. Government budget analysts have already warned that California will have to deal with $30 billion deficits for at least the three succeeding years. "People are fleeing our state in droves," California GOP chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson said in a statement regarding the latest projections. "While the red states [that Democratic governor Gavin] Newsom loves to hate continue to grow in population, California's sky-high cost of living, surging crime, homeless crisis, and failing schools aren't a very compelling case for why people should stay here." While lower-income and middle-class Californians initially led the charge in fleeing the state's high cost of living, wealthy people are increasingly fleeing as well, the nonpartisan Public Policy Institute of California reported this year. More college graduates are leaving the state than entering, in a reversal of a longtime trend. The loss of wealthy residents takes a particular toll on the state's finances, which depend on rich taxpayers. Last year, the top 1 percent of earners paid about 40 percent of California's income taxes. The loss likely translates into diminished national political power as well. Following the 2020 census, California for the first time in its history lost a congressional seat. Analysts predict that in 2030, the state will lose up to five seats.
Even though California has experienced lopsided out-migration for decades, the financial blow has been cushioned by the kinds of people moving into the state: The newcomers were generally better educated and earned more money than those who left.Who abducted the LA Times and forced them to admit that which they have always previously refused to admit?!!?
Not now: That long-standing trend has reversed. New state-to-state migration data show that for the last several years, thousands more high-earning, well-educated workers have left California than have moved in. The reversal, largely in response to the state's high taxes and soaring cost of living, has begun to damage California's overall economy. And, by cutting into tax revenues, has delivered punishing blows to state and local governments.
The area of the country gaining the most in population is, as you'd guess, the south.
State budget analysts recently projected a record $68-billion deficit in the next fiscal year thanks to a 25% drop in personal income tax collection in 2023. Some city, county and other local taxing authorities, particularly in the San Francisco Bay Area, have also recorded revenue declines. ... [R]ising unemployment in the state and the growing flight of professionals, business operators and others making good salaries were... notable contributors. And those factors will be harder to reverse, at least in the foreseeable future. "There's a price to pay for the movement of middle and upper-income people and corporations," said Joel Kotkin, a fellow at Chapman University who has researched the flight from California and the resulting threat to the state's fiscal outlook. "People who are leaving are taking their tax dollars with them." ... But it's not just the sheer numbers of people who have left. What's different is that in each of the prior two years, more than 250,000 Californians with at least a bachelor's degree moved out, while an average of 175,000 college graduates from other states settled in California, according to an analysis of census data by William Frey, a demographer at the Brookings Institution.
In prior periods over the last two decades, that balance was about even or slightly in California's favor, even though the state consistently lost many more residents overall to other states than it gained from them. The recent out-migration has been particularly pronounced among Californians with graduate and professional degrees. California is heavily dependent on high earners to meet government fiscal needs. Tax filers in the top 1% of income, earning around $1 million and above, have typically accounted for 40% to 45% of the state's total personal income tax revenue, said Brian Uhler, deputy legislative analyst at California's Legislative Analyst's Office, which estimated the $68-billion budget deficit.
ABC "News," which reports this story, is totally stoked about all the immigration which is totally not replacing the native born population.
The vast majority of growth, 87%, came from the South, a region the Census Bureau defines as stretching from Texas to Maryland and Delaware. But the concentration of growth seen during the height of the pandemic in Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Georgia diminished in 2023. "We peaked in the movement of people to those Sun Belt hotshots," Frey said. "It's tapering off a little bit." South Carolina's 1.7% growth rate topped all other states, and its population rose by more than 90,000 residents. More than 90% of the growth came from domestic migration, or people moving from another U.S. state to South Carolina. Without domestic and international migration, the Palmetto State would have lost population in 2023 with almost 1,300 more deaths than births. Florida had the next-highest growth rate at 1.6%, adding more than 365,000 residents. That was also the second-highest growth in terms of raw numbers. Only Texas surpassed it, gaining more than 473,000 people. More people moved to Florida than any other's U.S. state this year, with the almost 373,000 movers about evenly split between domestic and international. Significantly fewer residents died in Florida compared to last year, leading to a natural decrease of only around 7,600 people.
The number of immigrants to the U.S. jumped to the highest level in two decades this year, driving the nation's overall population growth, according to estimates released Tuesday by the U.S. Census Bureau. The United States added 1.6 million people, more than two-thirds of which came from international migration, bringing the nation's population total to 334.9 million. It marks the second year in a row that immigration powered population gains.

A recent Monmouth poll showed that only one third of Americans approve of Brandon's job performance.
One third!Ah, Fox News' Hillary-Clinton-supporter-run polling operation. Never change, Murdochs.
Only one-third of Americans gave President Biden a thumbs up on the job he is doing in the White House, according to a new national public opinion survey. The president stands at 34% approval in a Monmouth University poll released on Monday, with 61% giving Biden a thumbs down on his job performance. The president's approval is at an all-time low in Monmouth polling since Biden took over the White House nearly three years ago. Americans questioned in the survey gave the president particularly low marks for his handling of immigration (26%) and inflation (28%). "The Biden administration keeps touting their infrastructure investments and a host of positive economic indicators. Those data points may be factual, but most Americans are still smarting from higher prices caused by post-pandemic inflation. This seems to be what's driving public opinion," Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, highlighted. "There is political danger in pushing a message that basically tells people their take on their own situation is wrong." Murray spotlighted that "there is certainly an element of partisanship in how people frame their own financial situation, which is based in part on who occupies the White House. But even a good chunk of Biden's Democratic base wish he'd start paying more attention to their top priorities than he is now." ... The release of the Monmouth poll comes two weeks after the president stood at 37% approval -- an all-time low -- in a Wall Street Journal survey. However, a new Fox News national poll released on Sunday indicated Biden's approval rating at 43%.
Gropey Joe and his cheap floozy of a nursewife are sad about the poll numbers.
Biden stands far below where his three most recent two-term predecessors -- former Presidents Clinton, George W. Bush and Obama -- stood at this point in their presidencies, as they successfully ran for re-election. The only recent president whose approval ratings were nearly as negative as Biden's current numbers was his most recent predecessor, former President Trump, who was defeated by Biden in the 2020 election.
President Biden is complaining to close aides as his low approval rating continues to frustrate him and first lady Jill Biden, according to a new media report. "After pardoning a pair of turkeys, an annual White House tradition, Biden delivered some stern words for the small group assembled: His poll numbers were unacceptably low and he wanted to know what his team and his campaign were doing about it," The Washington Post reported. "He complained that his economic message had done little to move the ball, even as the economy was growing and unemployment was falling, according to people familiar with his comments, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a private conversation," according to The Post, whose headline noted Biden's "dismal poll numbers." The Biden family's complaints date back months, with Joe and Jill Biden telling "aides and friends they are frustrated by the president's low approval rating and the polls that show him trailing former president Donald Trump," the report continued.Aggro Democrats are starting to get bossy about third parties, demanding they exit the field so that their old rapist has a clearer path to victory.
In recent weeks, both Joe and Jill Biden have "grown upset that they are not making more progress." ... [Former Congressman Conor] Lamb said that Democrats are in "a state of paralysis" over how to help Biden's campaign.
At PJ Media, Vodkapundit writes that some Democrats have changed their position from "don't panic" to "yes, panic."
Jim Messina, a former top aide to former President Obama, claimed that a "third-party candidate can't win in 2024" and might guarantee former President Trump does. "With a rematch between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump almost set in stone, it's time to put a farce to rest: The notion that a third-party candidate could actually win the presidency in 2024," Messina wrote in an op-ed for Politico. "No Labels is pushing a dangerous lie that would simply serve to put Donald Trump back in the White House," he continued. No Labels is a third-party group founded by former Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman, a former Democrat who became an independent. ... "While a third-party candidate can't win, No Labels could still throw the election to Trump, and it wouldn't take that many votes," Messina wrote, explaining that the past two elections indicate that Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin may again swing the election for President Biden or Trump, the current favorite to be his Republican opponent. "A No Labels candidate in these states could easily hand the election to Trump," Messina wrote. ... "The people at No Labels know better than this," Messina continued. "It's time to cut the crap, believe the data and be honest with the American people. Any well-funded third-party candidate would be a disaster for our republic -- and risks putting us on a direct path to a dictatorship."
I mean, yes, that's exactly what's going to happen. It's now too late for a primary entrant to register and get on the ballot in enough states to beat Biden, so he will withdraw just before the convention and allow the delegates there -- the party hacks -- to just choose the candidate. Which is the system the Democrat Party really wants, anyway.
"Panic is entirely warranted," Roosevelt University's David Faris warned in Slate on Tuesday. "This might be the worst polling environment for an incumbent president one year out from an election since the advent of the polling era," according to Faris, "and also the most dire situation facing any Democratic presidential candidate in decades." When the lefty author of "It's Time to Fight Dirty: How Democrats Can Build a Lasting Majority in American Politics" says it's time for Democrats to panic, then it's time for Democrats to panic. Presidentish Joe Biden's reelection chances are shuffling aimlessly around like Joe at the end of a speech. ... The best-case scenario for Dems is that Biden -- for the good of the country, you see -- steps aside at the Democratic National Convention this summer and graciously allows his replacement to be selected by the will of the people. And by "will of the people," I mean a handful of Democrat bigwigs will secretly meet in a vape-filled room and pick California Gov. Gavin Newsom or some other deep blue state governor.
James Antle writes about the growing panic.
Patience or panic. Those are the competing impulses among Democrats as the reality sets in that if the election were held today, President Joe Biden would probably lose to former President Donald Trump. The election is not today but rather nearly a year from now. Democrats counseling caution are quick to note that the polls forecasting Biden's doom this early out are not predictive by historical standards. ... Prominent Democratic operative and analyst David Axelrod, who remains close to former President Barack Obama and is reflective of Obamaworld thinking, has warned that Biden has no better than a 50-50 shot at reelection. "But no better than that, maybe a little worse," Axelrod told New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd. "He thinks he can cheat nature here, and it's really risky. They've got a real problem if they're counting on Trump to win it for them. I remember Hillary doing that, too." Axelrod previously mused on X, formerly Twitter, about Biden giving serious thought to whether he should continue to pursue a reelection campaign. Billionaire investor Bill Ackman went a step further than Axelrod. "I think Biden's done a lot of good things. But I think his legacy will not be a good one if he is the nominee," Ackman told Bloomberg Television. "I do think the right thing for Biden to do is to step aside and to say he's not going to run and create the opportunity for some competition." Part of what is driving this sentiment is that Trump is, in their view, so manifestly unfit to serve that no viable Democratic nominee should ever trail him.Trump only led Hillary Clinton in national polls five times in 2016. He's done so 29 times this cycle.
Yet Biden is 1.9 points behind Trump in the RealClearPolitics polling average. The sitting president also trails Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) by 0.8 points and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley by 4.
