Is there another American family that is as vile, entitled, politically cutthroat, and just all-around disgusting as the Kennedys? Sure, the Clinton Crime Syndicate was in the running, but thankfully there are only three of them, and Chelsea seems to be about as dumb as one can be and still function.
Luckily for America, the energies of the Kennedy are largely dissipated...lost in a never-ending cascade of drug overdoses, plane crashes, murders, inbred idiocy, and hopefully an America that is less enamored of the tired but ceaseless references to a mythical Camelot. And mythical it was. JFK was far less impressive than the hagiographic histories would suggest, although anyone who bedding both Marilyn Monroe and Angie Dickinson gets a bit of credit for being an unrepentant rake. His younger brother, while still displaying the typical Kennedy clan entitlement with women, also did a good job as his brother's Attorney General. Was he a sleazy Kennedy? Of course. But he had good political instincts and actually did the job. The youngest brother might have been the worst! Ted Kennedy began by drowning Mary Joe Kopeckne, and continued in that vein for the rest of his career! Fast forward 55 years, and we have the interesting and, frankly delicious scenario of a Democrat party going after a Kennedy hammer and tongs. RFK Jr. is a crank, with insane political views, and a singular dedication to a brand of litigious environmentalism that is successful, and sadly destructive. His scientific acumen is...um...retarded, judging by his belief in the thoroughly debunked vaccine-autism link. He also holds a dim view of quaint freedoms like freedom of speech, and has publicly stated his desire for "Climate Deniers" to be jailed. But all of that is perfectly okay with the Kennedy clan, who have no beliefs other than the insatiable desire for power, prestige, and cold hard cash. And they have been successful acquiring all three, courtesy of the Democrat party. It is only when RFK Jr. attacked the Democrat Party apparatus for doing what they have always done, which is manipulating the political process for its own gain, that he became a pariah.Family means nothing. Loyalty means nothing. Fighting for one's beliefs mean nothing. Support for the Democrat party is the only thing that matters, and anyone who pushes against that monopoly is to be crushed...even if he is named Kennedy! Hopefully RFK Jr. will survive the coming onslaught of Kennedy attacks and the Democrat party sleaze machine long enough to provide Donald Trump with a few votes from the starstruck Kennedy-lovers in America. But mostly I am hoping for casualties.I am sharing a personal statement that my family and I have made in response to my brother’s announcement. pic.twitter.com/j7vTTabNYZ

- Pavel Durov, founder and CEO of messaging app Telegram, has been arrested in Paris on charges of... Fuck charges, he's a libertarian and this is France. (Ars Technica)
Durov founded Russian social network VKontake before resigning because... We don't know exactly, but allegedly because the Russian government had assumed de facto control of the company, wanted him gone, and wasn't too fussy about how he left. China subsequently banned VKontakte as a tool of the Russian government, but China bans everyone.
Ars' creative director Aurich Lawson - who personally suspended my account once for pointing out the site's rampant hypocrisy - noted:I'm pretty curious to see how this plays out. Is it really as simple as "you ran a platform where you didn't moderate private messages, therefore you're criminally responsible for everything people said"?
Do tell, Mr. Lawson.
Because that seems pretty chilling on the face of things.
It's time to start treating Europe like North Korea. If you go there, assume that you are not coming home intact.

Ed and Carolyn met while on a singles cruise and Ed fell head over heels for her. When they discovered they lived in the same city only a few miles apart Ed was ecstatic. He immediately started asking her out when they got home. Within a couple of weeks, Ed had taken Carolyn to dance clubs, restaurants, concerts, movies, and museums. Ed became convinced that Carolyn was indeed his soul mate…and true love. Every date seemed better than the last. On the one-month anniversary of their first dinner on the cruise ship, Ed took Carolyn to a fine restaurant. While having cocktails and waiting for their salad, Ed said, “I guess you can tell I’m very much in love with you. I’d like a little serious talk before our relationship continues to the next stage.
So, before I get a box out of my jacket and ask you a life changing question, it’s only fair to warn you, I’m a total golf nut. I play golf, I read about golf, I watch golf on TV. In short, I eat, sleep, and breathe golf. If that’s going to be a problem for us, you’d better say so now!” Carolyn took a deep breath and responded, “Ed that certainly won’t be a problem. I love you as you are and I love golf too; but, since we’re being totally honest with each other, you need to know that for the last five years I’ve…I’ve been a hooker.” “That’s alright.” Ed said, “I bet it’s because you’re not keeping your wrists straight when you hit the ball.”

Welcome hobbyists! Pull up a chair and sit a spell with the horde in this little corner of the interweb. The Ace of Spades wheel of hobbies has been busy for the last few months, so we gave it a polish and greased the spindle to ensure it can freely spin. Cleaning and serivce complete, we gave it an enthusiastic spin. The universe has a funny sense of humor. The wheel landed right between photography and model building. Can you imagine? Right between. We seem to have temporarily misplaced the manual, so we were not sure whether proper protocol allowed for another spin. In the meantime, a compromise has been agreed. Photography for this week and model building for next week. Model building will be a horde group project so see below for more information.
Are you a photographer? What do you like to shoot? How did you learn? Are you self-taught? What equipment do you use? Are you loyal to a particular brand? Did you learn with film? Did you learn to develop your own film? Do you have great stories of searching and finally snapping a particular photo? Landscapes? Wildlife? Portraits? Night skies? Sunsets? Waterfalls? Weddings? Even if you are not a professional photographer, are you good enough that you shoot keepsakes for others or cover events for media use? As camera-equipped mobile phones get better and better, do you enjoy snapping with just your phone? Are you a purist or do you tinker and modify in Photoshop? Do you have a bucket list of things or places you would like to shoot or photos you would like to capture?
Do you have boxes of prints or slides that you would like to scan someday? Did you inherit photos taken by relatives? Any great photos you have from travels to places before they changed dramatically, like East Germany? Do you have photos from the Civil War era of daguerreotypes?
TRex has snapped a photo or two over the years but looking for horde help to make this work. We're here to talk about photography. As usual, keep this thread limited to hobbies. Politics and current events can wait for other threads. Play nice. Do not feed the trolls and do not be a troll. No pants required.

Hey KT, I thought the garden horde would like to see this. My stepfather sent me this from his back patio in Wisconsin. I have never seen one before and in fact, never knew they existed. It is an albino hummingbird. Amazing. I have fed hummingbirds for thirty years and have never seen one, so I imagine they are pretty rare.

Given how hard chemotherapy is on the body, more selective tools like this, even if imperfect, are very welcome.

I want to thank Buck for covering for me last night with a delicious ONT so that I could go to the Van Halen Sammy Hagar concert. It was Sammy, Michael Anthony (That's half of the mid-80s Van Halen right there, it should count), Joe Satriani on guitar and Jason Bonham on drums. Not exactly the usual studio session musicians filling in for absent band members. Plus, look at the logo. I mean, c'mon.

Trump's Greendale rally, with "special guest," is scheduled to start at 7 pm Eastern/4 pm Mountain.
The New York Times is sad -- abortion mills are going broke! John Sexton:
Read the whole thing. This is not going to shock you: the UK is post-Christian. In order to make the Church of England more appealing to Modern Audiences, they're going to avoid using the word "church."
A couple weeks ago there was some surprising news out of New York. Planned Parenthood announced it would stop doing late-term abortions (those after 20 weeks) and also planned to close four clinics in the state. The problem in New York wasn't the legality of their business, it was the profitability. PP's president wrote in an opinion piece that because of inflation they were in trouble unless the state started directing more public money their way.
Today, the NY Times published a follow-up in the business section which makes the case that the business of abortion is not going well almost anywhere you look around the country. The story recounts the experience of a clinic in Washington DC which tried to expand in the Los Angeles area. It didn't go well. ... Even clinics that do open find that most of their clients can barely afford their services. That means the clinics can't raise prices in response to the inflation we've all experienced over the past 2 years.[Quoting the NYT:] Amy Hagstrom Miller, the C.E.O. of Whole Woman's Health, which operates six clinics in four states as well as one virtual clinic, said only two of them were currently profitable. "Whenever I talk to people about my margins," she said, "they're like, 'Are you kidding me?'" Procedure rates -- which can run from $600 to many thousands for the rare abortions that take place late in a pregnancy -- certainly haven't kept pace with medical inflation, even though everything else about running a health care business, from insurance to equipment to payroll, has become more expensive. There's some real irony here. Pro-life groups have spent decades campaigning against abortion and especially against late-term abortion. But it seems many clinics (like the ones in New York mentioned above) are now feeling pressure to stop performing these late abortions, not because of a change in the law but because of Bidenflation. I guess that's what they call a silver lining.
Church of England dropping word 'church' to be more 'modern' Report looks at the language used by 11 dioceses to describe new worshipping communitiesWhile they'll be keeping the word "church" in this fake organization calling itself the "Church of England," they'll be avoiding its use in establishing new "communities." Formerly: Churches.
Dr. Foulger suggested that the Church of England might be moving away from using the word "church" as part of a cultural rejuvenation. He said that the word "church" was not comprehensive enough "to describe what it is that these dioceses have been starting," adding that the phrase "new things" might be more appropriate. The UK just gave a man three years of hard time for telling people how to join a protest and keep your anonymity. Antifa does this every day -- but antifa are the approved Street Muscle of the Regime, so they get a pass. But Regime dissidents can expect prison time for merely telling people where and when a protest will be.
Now, they are imprisoning "keyboard warriors," who express inciteful thoughts. According to the local Lincolnshire Free Press, O'Rourke encouraged his 90,000 followers to join the protests and told them how to remain anonymous during protests. That is similar to many posts on the left by groups like Antifa. O'Rourke wrote such postings as "People of Southport where the f**k are you, get out on the street," "give them hell lads," and "Sunderland, go on lads." Notably, his counsel Lucia Harrington assured the court that her client wants to "re-educate" himself on these issues. His self-imposed "reeducation" was not enough for Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight, who denounced O'Rourke and "[t]he flames fanned by keyboard warriors like you." Lincolnshire Chief Superintendent Kate Anderson promised more such cases for those espousing disfavored views: "This charge demonstrates that we will take fast and decisive action against anyone suspected of sharing harmful content online. We retain a commitment to proactively police and keep people safe across the county." Many others have been similarly charged. That includes first offender William Nelson Morgan, 69, who was seen holding a stick and refusing to disperse at a protest at a library in West Yorkshire. He was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison even though he did not take part in rioting. While there can be legitimate charges and penalties for a failure to disperse, the roughly three-year sentence seems fueled on the content of his viewpoints rather than his specific actions.I saw someone at Hot Air call British PM Keir Starmer "Two-Tier Keir." Speaking of two tiers of justice: Corrupt Chicago Soros DA Kim Foxx -- last seen covering up for racial arsonist Jussie Smollett -- promises she won't prosecute any "peaceful" protesters. We know the left defines all "protesters" on the left as "peaceful" or, at worst, "fiery but mostly peaceful."
Soros-backed Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx has announced that she will not prosecute "peaceful" protesters at the upcoming Democratic National Convention (DNC), even extending this leniency to those committing misdemeanors. Key Details: Kim Foxx, backed by a $408,000 donation from a George Soros super PAC in 2016, announced she will not prosecute "peaceful" protesters at the DNC. Foxx's policy extends to misdemeanors like disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, and even curfew violations, despite previous promises of stricter enforcement. This leniency echoes her response to the 2020 riots, where she released hundreds of protesters, including those who caused property damage.Norway is "increasingly concerned about Swedish criminal gangs." Spoiler: the gangs are not actually Swedish.
Wait, I thought these criminals were "Swedish" -- what does Sweden's immigration policy have to do with it?
Norway is becoming increasingly concerned about Swedish criminal gangs, already known for their crimes in Denmark, where they operate throughout the country and are linked to a number of serious violent crimes. "It is serious. We are afraid that the development we have seen in Sweden will infect us", said Kjetil Tunold, head of the organised crime division at the Norwegian National Bureau of Investigation, told Swedish national broadcaster SVT on Sunday One of the cases in which Swedish gang criminals are suspected of involvement is the explosion at a house in a housing estate in Dröbak, south of Oslo, last autumn. Three Swedes with gang connections were charged with attempted murder after the incident. According to Tomas Staerk, head of investigations for Norway's Eastern Police District, several Swedish criminal networks have established themselves in the area. "We are worried about the gross use of violence and that the Swedish gangs will recruit vulnerable young people to join them", he said, adding that he was particularly concerned about the crimes connected to drug trafficking. "It is money laundering, economic crime, violence and threats", Staerk said. ... On Friday, Denmark announced that it would introduce border controls with Sweden, following a resurgence of Swedish gang violence that has spilt over into Denmark in recent weeks and after Swedes were arrested on suspicion of several violent crimes in Denmark. "The reality right now is that not only Denmark but large parts of the Nordic countries are feeling the consequences of Sweden's long-standing failed immigration and legal policies, and we take that extremely seriously," said Danish Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard (Social Democrats, S&D) at a press conference on 14 August.
America's Groomer Dad Tim Walz is the epitome of "positive masculinity," says some sissy.
Sweden, with a population of just 10 million, has the highest per capita rate of gun violence in the EU, with 55 fatal shootings in 363 incidents last year -- far more than the combined total of six fatal shootings in the other three Nordic countries.
Newsweek published "Tim Walz, the Kelce Brothers and a New Era of 'Positive Masculinity'":David French nods. After he gets the okay from his wife to voice his opinion. This DEI is bringing us only the top-performing, most elite of government officials!... Englar-Carlson is introduced in the Newsweek piece as an expert endorsing the idea that Tim Walz represents an evolutionary advance in men:
Many know the term "toxic masculinity" and think of the overly dominant, often aggressive personality that shapes the discourse... But now, it seems as though we're headed toward a softer kind of masculinity, with politicians talking about fertility, football players dancing to Taylor Swift and a renowned Paralympic athlete cheering on his wife as she won Olympic gold. [Positive masculinity] is thought to have been co-created in the early 2000s by Matt Englar-Carlson, founder and director of the Center for Boys and Men at California State University, Fullerton. He told Newsweek that the idea "creates space to realize that there's multiple ways to be a man."Recapping: as a white heterosexual who served in the military, coached football and hunts, Walz might "not seem like the epitome of positive masculinity"! But since he's also comfortable showing "more traditionally feminine traits" and "letting women take center stage," Walz might represent a net-positive new archetype.
How Does Walz Display Positive Masculinity? As a white, heterosexual male who served in the military, taught in high school, was a football coach and spends his spare time hunting, Walz might not seem like the epitome of positive masculinity. But he isn't solely defined by these characteristics because he's also a family man, an advocate for women's rights and a champion of women in power... Englar-Carlson... said that Walz "check marks" a lot of the hallmarks that people think are representative of masculinity. And yet he also speaks to a more enlightened "archetype of men."
Biden's Commerce Sec. says she's not familiar with BLS job revisionsThe Commerce Secretary isn't familiar with the huge economic news of nearly 1 million jobs disappearing into the ether on Wednesday. She doesn't keep tabs on the numbers, but she has a "Woman's Ways of Knowing," so she's just the best.
Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo faced backlash after admitting unfamiliarity with a major revision to job numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, dismissing concerns as "misinformation" from former President Donald Trump. Key Details: The Bureau of Labor Statistics revised its job numbers, revealing 818,000 fewer jobs were created than initially reported. Raimondo dismissed concerns about the revisions, attributing them to misinformation from Trump. Social media users and conservative commentators criticized Raimondo's unawareness and dismissal of the report. Diving Deeper: According to the NY Post, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo sparked controversy after admitting she was "not familiar" with a significant revision to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) job numbers during an ABC News interview on Wednesday. The BLS revised its previous job creation figures, revealing that 818,000 fewer jobs were created than initially reported, a revelation that has serious implications for the Biden administration's economic narrative. The admission drew immediate criticism on social media. National Review's Charles Cooke expressed disbelief that the Secretary of Commerce would be unaware of such a significant economic report. Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich suggested that the administration's attempts to manage the economy were beginning to unravel, while conservative commentator Ned Ryun criticized the competence of the current administration, stating, "Holy hell. We are governed by idiots."

Situation normal, then.
Democrats' fakery goes deeper than just pantomiming a democratic process after executing a coup against the sitting president. The Harris-Walz campaign branding of "joy"--repeated this week ad nauseum by the propaganda press--is obviously fake and forced. By running a campaign almost completely devoid of policy substance or any real interaction with the news media, consisting mostly of staged videos of Harris and Walz yukking it up on the campaign trail or delivering speeches via teleprompter at highly controlled rallies, Democrat Party leaders are essentially running a psy-op on the American electorate. A big part of that psy-op is to lie and mislead brazenly about everything. On the opening night of the convention, Biden repeated the infamous "very fine people on both sides" hoax and the "suckers and losers" hoax, both of which anyone can easily look up in 30 seconds. He also claimed that 500,000 new electric vehicle charging stations have been created under his administration (the actual number is seven), among many other blatant falsehoods. Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker repeated the "injecting bleach" line about Donald Trump and Covid. Former President Barack Obama lied about Trump's tax cuts, claiming they only benefited the wealthy, and about how many jobs have been created under the Biden-Harris administration. Michelle Obama falsely claimed Trump wants to outlaw IVF. Tim Walz was introduced as a "Command Sergeant Major," a rank he never achieved. Capitol Police Officer Aquilino Gonell claimed he "almost died" on January 6, when in fact he suffered no injuries. On and on, lie after lie--and of the most lazy and obvious kind. The biggest lie of all, though, is that President Biden wasn't forced out of his reelection campaign in what amounted to a coup last month. A key part of that lie is to downplay the fact that Harris is currently the vice president and present her instead as a new entrant to the race who brings new ideas and energy. But she's been in office for nearly four years now. Biden's failed policies are her failed policies. Democrats are caught in a bind here. If they tout Harris as an integral part of the Biden administration, a trusted advisor and partner to the president, who as VP was given real responsibilities, how can they claim she doesn't then bear responsibility for what's happened while she's been in office? Harris taking the stage and proclaiming, "When I am president, I will bring down the cost of groceries," elides the reality that she's been in office since 2021. If she's so committed to bringing down the cost of groceries, why hasn't she done something about it? Why is everything so much more expensive than it was before Biden-Harris were in charge?
America's Groomer Dad Tim Walz continues fabricating his military record and stealing further valor.
You may say, "Well, at least he eventually re-upped for service." Except that we didn't actually invade Iraq until, what, late 2003. And we know how Walz reacted when he learned his unit was deploying in 2004 -- he went over his superiors' heads to get a sympathetic and probably Democrat officer to give him a special early retirement despite the military being under "stop-loss" orders which prevented non-connected military personnel from retiring.
Walz enlisted two days after his 17th birthday in April 1981. As Walz tells it, when the planes hit the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001, the attack compelled him to reenlist in lieu of his 20-year retirement, to carry out his patriotic duty to serve his country in a time of war. He then retired in 2005, years after his service obligation for retirement was satisfied. ... My initial reaction to the narrative that Walz reenlisted after 9/11 out of a sense of patriotism was confusion, as his date of enlistment was April 1981 and one would expect, absent unusual circumstances involving extensions or breaks in service, his 20-year retirement date would have been April 2001 and any reenlistment or extension would've had to have been executed in April, months prior to Sept. 11, 2001. So I looked into it. On Nov. 2, 2009, Walz sat down with a historian from the Library of Congress Veterans History Project to memorialize his service as a military veteran. During the course of Walz's description of his service to his country, he related the following regarding his decision to reenlist after the 9/11 attacks:
My 20 years was actually, ironically enough, up that week of September 11, 2001, because of the time I had off and made up, so I reenlisted like, I think, the vast majority people did with a real uncertainty but wanting to with a real sense of wanting to do something. That was a lie.
... Walz did not complete 20 years of service in September 2001. He didn't "stay after he could've retired" because he wasn't eligible to retire. According to Walz's Report of Separation and Record of Service, he was put on "ING" -- Inactive National Guard -- from Dec. 1, 1989, to July 12, 1990, a total of 7 months and 12 days of inactive service. Walz was reportedly teaching school in China during that period. The Report of Separation also denotes a discrepancy between his "Total Service for Pay" and "Total Service for Retirement Pay." That difference is 7 months and 12 days. Had Walz wanted to retire after 20 years of service, he would not be eligible to do so until at least 7 months and 12 days after his enlistment anniversary date of April 8, 1981, barring further breaks in service or failure to acquire training and participation points to meet his annual obligations. This would have put his eligible retirement date at Nov. 20, 2001, at the earliest -- more than a month after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. At a minimum, Walz was blatantly lying in his Library of Congress Veterans Project interview about being eligible to retire, "ironically," the week of Sept. 11, 2001.

Everything for aliens, nothing for actual citizens.
California's Senate Appropriations Committee has moved forward with a bill that would allow illegal aliens to access the state's zero-down, no-payment home loan program, a move raising concerns about significant cost pressures. Key Details: The bill, AB 1840, prevents the state's California Dream for All Shared Appreciation Loans program from denying applicants based on immigration status. The program offers loans up to 20% of a home's purchase price with no down payment or monthly payments, repayable when the home is refinanced, sold, or transferred. The expansion could create "significant cost pressures," with unknown costs potentially in the millions annually. In other words, all the free money going into the housing market -- for illegal aliens -- will drive up prices for the disfavored group: US citizens. The illegals will do fine because the huge subsidies will offset the inflationary effect on prices, but people not receiving the subsidies will just get hit by housing inflation.
According to Just the News, California's Senate Appropriations Committee has advanced a controversial bill aimed at expanding the state's zero-down, no-payment home loan program to illegal aliens. The legislation, known as AB 1840, authored by Assembly member Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno), seeks to make the California Dream for All Shared Appreciation Loans program accessible to all residents, regardless of immigration status.Actually, the subsidies do depend on immigration status: US citizens need not apply.
... The program currently allows eligible applicants to receive a state-backed loan covering up to 20% of the home's purchase price--essentially the typical down payment--without requiring any down payment or monthly payments. Borrowers are expected to repay the original loan amount plus 20% of any increase in property value when the home is refinanced, sold, or transferred. However, critics are raising alarms about the financial impact of this expansion. The Appropriations Committee's analysis highlighted "unknown significant cost pressures" that could reach into the millions annually to fund the program's broader eligibility. The expansion comes amid an already strained housing market in California, where the median home price hovers near $1 million. The high cost of housing means that the typical household needs an income of over $200,000 to afford a home--more than three times the median household income in the state.Say, didn't we try giving free houses -- no down payment, no job, no income -- to poor people who could not possibly pay the mortgage costs before? And didn't that collapse the entire world economy? Now we're adding a NC to NINJA -- No income, no job, no citizenship.
This development recalls the home down payment assistance programs from the George W. Bush administration, which have been widely criticized for contributing to the 2007-2008 global financial crisis by inflating housing prices and lowering loan recipient quality. Critics warn that expanding California's program to undocumented immigrants could exacerbate existing housing market pressures, making it harder for all residents to afford homes.Meanwhile, in communist Oregon, a taxpayer funded corporation is giving away $30,000 in free subsidies for buying a home. But, again -- only if you're an illegal alien.
,
Hacienda Community Development Corp. is participating in a taxpayer-funded down payment assistance program that gives money to non-citizens to buy homes in Oregon while excluding American citizens from eligibility, according to records provided to the Daily Caller. Hacienda CDC is reportedly offering $30,000 for down payment assistance for eligible new homebuyers through their Camino a Casa program, according to a screenshot first reported by X user Oregon Citizen. "Clients work closely with financial coaches and HUD-certified housing counselors throughout the entirety of the homebuying process. In addition to mortgage readiness and financial fitness workshops, we provide various opportunities for down-payment assistance," the organization states. The eligibility requirements include being a non-citizen. Republican Oregon state Rep. Ed Diehl told the Daily Caller he received confirmation from Business Oregon that Hacienda CDC is using these funds for non-citizens while excluding American citizens. "American citizens in Oregon are struggling to find and buy a home. We have a severe housing shortage in this state. I am appalled that the hard-earned, limited tax dollars of Oregonians are being used to prioritize home ownership for certain non-US citizens. Oregon can't end this state-sponsored discrimination soon enough," Diehl told the Daily Caller.

This Walz/China story has all the earmarks of Russian interference".
--51 intelligence officials. Posted by: illiniwek
While Walz was "teaching in China," he was apparently learning a lot from his Chinese masters, too. I missed this -- he didn't just say "one man's socialism is another man's neighborliness." He also explicitly praised communism itself, calling it "a system where everyone shares."
As a high school teacher in the 1990s, Democratic vice presidential candidate and Minnesota governor Tim Walz appeared to extol life under Chinese communism, telling his students that it is a system in which "everyone shares" and gets free food and housing. "It means that everyone is the same and everyone shares," Walz said during a lesson on China's communist system in November 1991. "The doctor and the construction worker make the same. The Chinese government and the place they work for provide housing and 14 kg or about 30 pounds of rice per month. They get food and housing."This was when he was still a member of the National Guard.
A man who traveled with Walz on some of his 30+ trips to Communist China calls Walz "maoist to the core" and says that Walz could just not stop praising China's Communist system.
Walz's remarks were reported in a 1991 article in Nebraska's Alliance Times-Herald that focused on his work on student exchange programs in China. At the time, Walz was teaching social studies at a Nebraska high school.
A man who says he joined Tim Walz on a trip to communist China is speaking out about his experience of traveling to the country with the future vice-presidential candidate. "It was almost a daily revelation of how much he adores the communist regime," the former student told Alpha News. For over a decade, Tim Walz traveled to and from China. First arriving in the country in 1989, Walz taught at a high school in partnership with a nonprofit program affiliated with Harvard University. During this first trip, Walz was visiting Hong Kong when the Tiananmen Square protests began in April. Those protests ended in June when the communist government massacred protestors on June 3-4, 1989. After the massacre, Walz later took a train to Beijing to visit the square, according to the New York Times. Upon returning to the United States after that first trip, Walz told local newspapers how much he enjoyed his time in China. On June 4, 1994, Walz married Gwen Whipple on the fifth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre. Gwen told a local newspaper that Walz "wanted to have a date he'll always remember," the Wall Street Journal reported. The couple spent their honeymoon in China, according to local reports from the time. After this first trip to China, Walz founded a company that took students on summer trips to China. Walz said in a 2016 interview that he has traveled to China "about 30 times" as a teacher and member of Congress. The New York Post recently reported that Walz was a visiting fellow at a state-run university in China as recently as 2007. Now, a former student who says he joined Walz on a 1995 trip to China is speaking to Alpha News about the experience. That student, Shad, asked that we not use his last name. For several weeks, Walz and his group of students explored China together in the summer of 1995, Shad said. They saw Tiananmen Square, walked along the Great Wall of China, and traversed the country. However, the former student says he was struck by Walz's adoration for China and its communist ideology. "There was no doubt he was a true believer," Shad said. "I've been trying to tell people this for 30 years. Nobody wanted to listen. "At night, we'd go out, we'd walk the street fairs. We'd be buying souvenirs and Tim was always buying the little red book. He said he gave them as gifts ... I saw him buy at least a dozen on the trip," he said. "It would be like in Germany and buying copies of Mein Kampf," the then student told Alpha news. "If there was any doubt about what I'm saying just look at the policies enacted by his administration like the country's worst abortion law, anti-free speech, the riots," Shad pointed out. "He's a Maoist to the core and should not be underestimated." Shad drew attention to the similarities between the messaging of Walz and Kamala Harris--including phrases like "the politics of joy" and "unburdened by what has been"--and the propaganda materials used by Mao. "People need to have their eyes wide open," Shad said. "The snitch hotline in Minnesota is straight out of CCP. Tim Walz is a very bright guy. None of this by accident."
Kyle SmithJesse Watters asked James Comer if the Chinese would have videotaped this American on his wedding night, and if they may have groomed him as an agent-of-influence. Comer allowed it was possible. He's demanding the FBI turn over its records about Walz and his trips to China. You know that the criminal Christopher Wray will shred them before he gives those up. They're openly saying at the DNC that if Walz is elected, he'll be the first "Chinese Vice President."
@rkylesmith Walz and his wife Gwen held their wedding on the fifth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre--with Gwen Walz saying her husband "wanted to have a date he'll always remember." Kristallnacht was booked?

"In the name of saving democracy, the Democrat Party has set itself to dismantling it."
Says Democrat-aligned judges worked to "throw me off the ballot and throw Trump in jail." Notes "rigged primary" to protect Senile Joe. Attacks Kamala for hiding from the media and the media for allowing her to hide, calling it "profoundly undemocratic." "Instead of showing us her character, the DNC and its media organs engineered" a false enthusiasm for Kamala which consisted of little but "balloons." Talking about "weaponizing the government," "censorship," and "media control." "When a US president colludes with the media to censor its opponents," that's an attack on our democracy. Says the media has revealed itself to be nothing but "house organs" of the Democrat Party. Calling out "representatives of those networks in the room right now" for colluding to deny him any network interviews, except two, subjecting him to a "deluge" of hit pieces, and "colluding with the DNC" to keep him off the debate stage."The mainstream media was once the safeguard of democracy and free speech, but has joined this systemic attack on democratic expression." (Approximate quote, he's speaking too fast to get every word right.) "Are we still a role model for democracy, or have we made it kind of a joke?" He's suspending his campaign, not ending it. He says you can still vote for him in blue states or red states as that will not affect the outcome. But, he says, in the ten battleground states, where he'd be a spoiler, he's removing his name. He says he is now throwing his support to President Trump, the three issues motivating him are free speech, the war in Ukraine, and the war on children. (? -- I guess he means covid/vaccines.) I don't think his plan is too wack or bad for trump. He has to give his supporters hope if he wants to continue leading them. This is a compromise step that keeps him a viable voice, while he urges his voters to vote against the Deep State/corrupt Democrat Party/corrupt media. Says Trump will re-open negotiations with Putin. "This alone would justify my support for his campaign." Says last summer it appeared that no candidate would champion peace, free speech, the crime inflicted on our children, cleaning corporate influence out of our government, but now one candidate has adopted them "as his own."
@iAnonPatriot Holy sht. CNN just cut @RobertKennedyJr off.Says he doesn't support Trump on all issues but is in "alignment" with him on "ending the Forever Wars, ending the childhood diseases epidemic," and getting the intelligence agencies out of the business of ruling our country. Urges people to view a Tucker Carlson interview with some doctor about health and the chronic disease epidemic. (Missed the specifics.) Talking about the epidemic of obesity. Says the childhood obesity rate is 3% in Japan but 50% in America. Wants to know why the US media's headlines aren't screaming about this epidemic. >>>595 I guess this is good ? yes, pretty good. I was hoping for a bigger endorsement of Trump, but that would turn off his supporters and make him look like a traitor. Instead, he's guiding them more gently to Trump. Says one in four women is on antidepresants, and some high percentage of children which I missed is on drugs for mental illness. Says it's all about two things: ultraprocessed foods (chemically engineered fake foods), and toxic chemicals in our food, our drugs, and our environment. I guess he's getting at the presence of plastics in everything. Talking about the estrogenic effect of these chemicals, causing girls to have early puberty and I guess boys to be soyboy beta cucks. This is all interesting stuff which I personally buy into. Obviously the Marxist Media will brand this insane conspiracy theories.

Posted by: m MSNBC just cut him off now. Fox and Newsmax still running it.
635 Fox cut him off so we can hear Juan Williams' take Posted by: Josh Brolin's Blistered TaintOutstanding, Fox. Wouldn't want the Big Pharma corporations that prop your lame establishment ads up to withdraw their advertisements. 90% (? -- missed the number) of NIH grants to to people who have conflict of interests. Talks about Big Ag and Big Pharma promoting "health" that is actually about the health of their profits. Notes specifically the Fake Food Pyramid we're still propagandizing to children to make them big fat Lifelong Overeaters. "A sick child is the best thing for the pharmaceutical industry." "Imagine when Medicaid starts paying for Ozempic." Says it costs $1500 per month for each person (and it has to be taken for life). That will cost three trillion per year. Talking about children being prescribed Ozempic at age six. So Kennedy's big demand, this stuff about health, is fine by me if Trump accepts it as the cost of getting Kennedy to campaign for him. I think most of this is right and needs to be talked about. Kids are fat because they suger-filled soda from plastic bottles. They don't need Ozempic, they need their parents to stop buying soda for them. Speaking now of "unifying a national populist movement" of all races. Says he will bring this spirit "to the campaign of President Trump."
Overall take: Helpful for Trump, pitched to bring as many of his supporters as possible on his new journey of supporting Trump (and maybe becoming Health and Human Services Secretary). His big emphasis on health issues at the end makes me think that's the deal which has been struck. If you didn't watch it, watch later until he starts talking about what a commenter called the "abstruse" health and dietary stuff. It's strong through most of the first half. He will almost certainly be speaking with Trump tonight from Greendale, Arizona. Deb Heine sent me this screencap of what I assume is a Trump announcement for his own event in neighboring Greendale tonight. Trump will be featuring an unnamed "special guest."

Saw this in a meme: 1. Biden has this economy the best in years. She's proposing a "new course." What is that course? As Nancy Pelosi said, we have to vote for it to find out what's in it. Ed Morrissey:
2. And Kamala is going to fix it Day #1. Posted by: Axeman
Last night, Kamala Harris repeatedly asserted that she would "chart a new course," or "chart a new way forward." For that, one would expect a chart or two. Harris competently delivered a well-received but nearly substance-free acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. At 37 minutes, give or take, it ran long enough for the occasion without tiring the audience, in the hall or on television. And mirablile dictu, we never got the ubiquitous Harris incantation, "what we can be, unburdened by what has been.""Nobody tonight said a damn thing," said CNN's conservative panelist Scott Jennings. Democrats are asking you to vote for a complete unknown -- they won't say what their politics, policies, or plans are. She's claiming to be a "blank slate" candidate: Jennings points out she's not a blank slate. Her slate is written with three and a half years of Biden-Harris failures: runaway inflation, an economy on the edge of depression, an open border.
Which in this case was rather ironic, since at least a third or more of Harris' speech was devoted to what has been -- her "personal story." And nearly none of it had anything to do with "what has been" over the last four years, or indeed since Harris left her office as Attorney General. Harris never mentioned her time in the US Senate, or indeed much at all about spending the last three and a half years as Vice President in the current administration. We'll get back to that shortly. The choice to spend the first ten minutes of her 37-minute speech talking about her distant past -- mostly her childhood -- seemed very strange for an already well-known political figure....
[I]t set an "it's all about me, not you" tone that should have been avoided on this occasion in particular. It had strong echoes of Hillary Clinton's strategy in 2016, in which she more or less hijacked Barack Obama's more subtle message about him being the hope and change and made it explicit. And the rest of the speech followed that same theme -- that this election is about her journey, not yours or mine. This brings us back to charting a new course. Why would that be necessary? Harris is the current VP in an administration that has been in power for over three and a half years. She's running on the Joe Biden record; Biden himself endorsed her on Monday night as his partner in governance, which is the argument that she's ready to lead now. For that matter, as Scott Jennings reminded CNN viewers this week, Democrats have controlled the White House for 12 of the last 16 years. This isn't a "new course" -- Harris is the status quo.
