We are the enemies of the state. It is difficult to find any other interpretation for the fact-free claims that "White Supremacy" is the biggest threat against America, yet the progressive movement has made it an article of faith among its acolytes. And that is powerful evidence that their politics has transcended temporal things and is now a religion.

The evidence that Islam and China are far more significant threats against America is everywhere. The various terrorist groups masquerading as Islamic Freedom fighters are quite open with their ultimate goal, and that is the destruction of Israel, America, and the West, and replacing their governments with Sharia-compliant, authoritarian governments. China has infiltrated our government, has spent billions of dollars on manipulation of our culture, and its military is actively attacking our technological infrastructure with hackers and hardware-driven espionage.

But a few lunatics in the mountains of Idaho espousing white nationalism are the problem?

Biden FBI Called White Supremacy 'Most Persistent, Lethal Threat' Before Islamist Terrorism Attack

The FBI says Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, a U.S. citizen from Texas, is responsible for the deadly New Year’s Day terror attack in New Orleans and that he likely did not act alone. Law enforcement is still looking for others who may be involved.

Jabbar was not the threat on President Joe Biden’s radar. Jabbar did not fit the profile of the terrorists Biden, his crooked Department of Justice (DOJ), and feckless Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have been searching for.

While the DHS left U.S. borders wide open for any criminal or harmful ideology to enter, the DOJ made “domestic violent extremism” a “national priority area,” numerous reports show.

In June 2021, the National Security Council announced a plan to target domestic terrorists, mostly “those who promote the superiority of the white race” and “militia violent extremists.” The FBI called them “the most persistent and lethal threats.”

That is code for the kind of people who went to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. [bolding mine]

Bingo. That is exactly it. Say what you will about the progressive hierarchy in Washington...they may be out of touch with the real America, but they aren't stupid. They know exactly what they are doing, and creating a lasting illusion that traditional American virtues of self-reliance, individual responsibility, competence over color or religion, and the belief in limited government are hallmarks of a violent, subversive counter-culture in America is their goal.

That's why the floodgates on our borders were opened...to drown traditional American culture in a sea of compliant, freedom-averse drones who will reliably support the deep state's plans for the foreseeable future.

And if 10,000 PLA operatives slip across, and a few thousand Islamic suicide bombers get in? Well, eggs...omelets...etc.

The FBI and the Justice department simply don't care that much about the possibility of massive terrorist attacks or comprehensive sabotage of our infrastructure. They are obsessed with the final destruction of American Exceptionalism, and by tagging all of us who believe in it as budding terrorists, they have the legal (by D.C. standards) authority to degrade it as a political lodestone and turn it into a sound-bite attached to every bit of violence perpetrated by pretty much anyone. And if they are wrong? Well, the first impression is usually the most lasting one.

Like the laughable lie about guns in the Capitol building on January 6th! Yes, there were guns, but they were all in the hands of the murdering Capitol Police and various undercover government cops. And all of those deaths? Yes...there were two, and they were unarmed protesters, killed by the jackbooted thugs of government.

"The Great Replacement Theory" is supposedly debunked, but the evidence is before us, and it is hard to argue against it. Open borders, favoring immigration from non-Western countries, demonizing traditional American culture -- it's all part of the process, and whether it is by design or an unintended consequence is immaterial.

The complete consolidation of power within the Democrat/Progressive movement is the goal, and they will use whatever tool is best. If that means the destruction of traditional American culture, then that is just fine.

Perhaps it is also time for traditional American culture to use the same tools...demonization of progressive political philosophy, making their shock troops (Antifa, BLM, etc) socially unacceptable, returning to the baseline of classic anti-communist assumptions, and renewed support for American Exceptionalism.

Sounds like a good start for President Trump!

The Morning Report — 1/2/25

Good morning kids. Well, it's a New Year, and yet we are confronted with the same old evil. Just as I was posting yesterday's New Year's Day Morning Report, in which I bemoaned the anarcho-terrorism via open borders, the decriminalization of crime and the brainwashing of at least 3 generations of our children into hating themselves and their precious birthright as they cheer on the blood-letting – All of it intentionally inflicted on us by a venal, power-mad tyranny seeking permanent power. And in that fever dream where they sit on a throne made up of our bones, they have allied themselves with an even greater Evil that will ultimately grind them into dust once they achieve their 1,500-year quest to conquer the world, even if it means and quite frankly because indeed it does mean bringing about actual Armageddon in order to achieve it. I am of course referring to Islam.

Almost at that very moment, we learned that a truck plowed into a crowd of New Year's Eve revelers in New Orleans' famed Bourbon Street. Anyone who is even semi-self aware of what is going on in our world and of world history itself immediately came to the reasonable and rational conclusion that this was a mass casualty intentional terrorist attack. The fact that the truck evidently had some kind of heavy flagpole attached to the front end, where a black ISIS flag was flying from it, and that the pole was not merely to fly said flag but to cause as much carnage to as many victims as possible. In that regard, as has been the case in similar attacks over the years in Europe, mission accomplished. Also, the fact that the driver was quickly identified as an illegal alien Muslim is also a bit of a tell, no? Be they Muslims, transexuals, or White Hispanics, I'm kind of shocked the FBI - Foment Bolshevik Insurrection, and the usual suspects at Chocolate City central couldn't cover this up. Or else, have yet to describe ‘Shamsud Din Jabbar’ as an Hassidic White Supremacist MAGA voter angry about Obamacare and the denial of abortion rights toTransexuals, and a first cousin of Bibi Netanyahu. Meh, give it time. Joy Reid types with only one finger, since the other is permanently up her nostrils detecting boogers like a hog seeking out truffles.

I guess not many Jews are in temple on New Year's Eve, so Bourbon Street was the only crowd that could be found. Then again, Bourbon Street, known for its open debauchery during Mardi Gras no doubt offends the sensibilities of Muslims. And despite that, there's also the Christian religious aspect to that day. You don't have to be Jewish (to not only like Levy's Rye Bread) but to be an infidel. Hey, it's the Islamic equivalent of diversity and inclusion, as is taught on most college campuses these days.

But wait, there's even more because as that was happening, Ocean's 11 was turning into Oh Shits Eleventy over in Las Vegas:

In the wake of the New Orleans terrorist attack, a Tesla Cybertruck reportedly full of "firework-style mortars" exploded in front of the Trump Towers in Las Vegas this morning.

Maybe it was some kind of accident, and the whole location was just a coincidence. But it's not hard to think that the idea was to send a message to both Donald Trump, who owns the tower, and to his political ally, Elon Musk, who owns Tesla.

Was it an act of terrorism? An assassination threat? Based on the scant information out so far, it seems plausible.

It seems reasonable to think that if this were intentional, the perpetrator probably had a 'thing' against both Trump and Musk, who is currently working on domestic policy in regards to cutting the size of our oversized government.

That suggests a political actor more than an overseas terrorist agenda, which seems to be evident in New Orleans as the FBI fumbles around and says it's not terrorism.

Union thugs, of which Las Vegas has many, are known for their violent tactics, but they don't seem too on-the-outs with the incoming Trump team. We haven't heard crazy statements from them.

Antifa, given its loathing of Trump and Musk, as well as its willingness to use lawless tactics might have such a motive. The group seems to be the sort of place law enforcement ought to at least look, given the weak penetration of that organization by federal authorities focused on Jan. 6 grannies, angry parents speaking out at school board meetings and Latin Mass goers rather than domestic terrorists. There could easily be some material there.

All things considered, overseas/Islamic terrorism and domestic political actors should not be thought of as mutually exclusive. Remember, Islam first and foremost is a political movement in and of itself – a totalitarian one. And its enemies are the same enemies of the hardcore tyrannical Leftists, as well as the outwardly run-of-the-mill but no less malign Democrat political Left and Globalist Deep Staters who see their fortunes on the wane both here and abroad and are capable of anything and everything from election theft to assassination attempts and everything in between. Even a cursory reading of Islamic precepts shows that the phrase "By Any Means Necessary" may very well have its roots right there. Be that as it may, Whether it's Islam, or secular totalitarianism as described from Plato's Republic, to Hobbs' Leviathan, More's Utopia, to Marx and Engels, the notion that this is perhaps "The New Normal" while certainly understandable from a tactical point of view ignores the fact that EVIL, and the will to power, is as old as humanity itself.

It has taken us millennia of painful and often bloody human development plus societal evolution, and in particular the past two to get us to a point where Judeo-Christian and Western civilization allowed for the American experiment to be planted, germinate and flourish at least for a certain amount of time. Whether it still exists, or can yet be reborn and flourish once more is open for debate and remains to be seen. There are positive signs even amidst the blood, carnage, depravity and venality that sadly comprise the majority of the links on a daily basis.

I have come to the rather sad conclusion that we are going to have to resign ourselves to doing certain unpleasant but necessary things for the sake of self-preservation that perhaps we might never have considered were it not for the fact that what happened in New Orleans, what came out of Gaza last year and what has been intentionally unleashed from out of our Southern border and from classrooms from Pre-K to Post-Graduate will not stop unless and until We The People make it stop.

And, if it means scrapping the Constitution to make that happen, as even Thomas Jefferson himself warned might have to happen, then so be it.

So, we elected Donald Trump. It's at least a relief, and maybe, please God a start. But we're going to need an army of Tailgunner Joe McCarthys and Augusto Pinochets to do what really needs to be done. And that's a generational struggle my friends.

If the followers of Mohammed and Marx can do it, the question is can we? The answer is, we better, because we have no choice. You're either with us or with the terrorists. Period, full stop.

FBI: The Non-Terrorist Who Committed an Act of Terrorism Acted With Four Other Non-Terrorists

Oh, the FBI is now admitting that this obvious terrorist attack was in fact a terrorist attack. I'm so sorry to slur the good name of the highly competent and candid FBI.

One woman and three men were seen planting explosives near the attack site.

The FBI said other potential explosive devices were also located in the French Quarter. According to the intelligence bulletin, surveillance footage captured three men and a woman placing one of multiple improvised explosive devices.

"This is not just an act of terrorism. This is evil," New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said. The driver "defeated" safety measures that were in place to protect pedestrians, she said, and was "hell-bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did."

The FBI identified the driver as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, a U.S. citizen and Army veteran from Texas and said it is working to determine Jabbar's potential associations and affiliations with terrorist organizations.

"We do not believe that Jabbar was solely responsible," Alethea Duncan, an assistant special agent in charge of the FBI's New Orleans field office, said at a news conference.

Jabbar drove onto a sidewalk, going around a police car that was positioned to block vehicular traffic and protect Bourbon Street revelers, authorities said. A barrier system designed to prevent vehicle attacks was undergoing repairs in preparation for the Super Bowl, which is being played in the city in February.

Police killed Jabbar after he exited the vehicle and opened fire on responding officers, police said. Three officers returned fire. Two were shot and are in stable condition, police said. They were in addition to 33 people injured in the vehicle attack.

A photo circulated among law enforcement officials showed a bearded Jabbar wearing camouflage next to the truck after he was killed.

A driver wrought carnage on New Orleans' famed French Quarter early on New Year's Day, ramming a pickup truck into a crowd and killing 10 people before being shot to death by police, authorities said.

More than 30 people were injured in the attack, which the FBI is investigating as an act of terrorism.

Actually the FBI contradicted local officials and said it wasn't terrorism. Of course.

Maybe they've walked back their claim since then.

The driver was killed in a firefight with police following the attack around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday along Bourbon Street near Canal Street in an area teeming with New Year's revelers, the FBI said.

Investigators were combing the French Quarter for potential explosive devices, a law enforcement official told the Associated Press. The official was not authorized to discuss details of the investigation publicly and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Alethea Duncan said officials were investigating at least one suspected improvised explosive device at the scene.

At a news conference, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell described the killings as a "terrorist attack" and the city's police chief said the act was clearly intentional.

New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said the driver was "hell-bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did."

"It was very intentional behavior. This man was trying to run over as many people as he could," Kirkpatrick said.

After the vehicle stopped, the driver emerged and opened fire on responding officers, police said. Officers returned fire, killing the driver, police said.

Two officers were wounded and are in stable condition, police said. They were in addition to 33 people injured in the vehicle attack.

The attack is the latest example of a vehicle being used as a weapon to carry out mass violence, a trend that has alarmed law enforcement officials and that can be difficult to protect against.

A 50-year-old Saudi doctor plowed into a Christmas market teeming with holiday shoppers in the German city of Magdeburg last month, killing four women and a 9-year-old boy. A man who drove his SUV through a Christmas parade in suburban Milwaukee in 2021 is serving a life sentence after a judge rejected arguments from him and his family that mental illness drove him to do it. Six people were killed.

An Islamic extremist was sentenced last year to 10 life sentences for killing eight people with a truck on a bike path in Manhattan on Halloween in 2017. Also in 2017, a self-proclaimed admirer of Adolf Hitler slammed his car into counterprotesters at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia and is now serving a life sentence.

JUST IN: The New Orleans terror suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, according to local news reports.

According to a source who spoke with NOLA, the man was flying an ISIS flag in the truck.

"The suspect accused of plowing a truck through a crowd on Bourbon Street is named Shamsud Din Jabbar, according to a law enforcement source," NOLA reported.

"The source said he was carrying an ISIS flag in the truck."

The National Nightmare Is Ending

Après Biden, "L'audace, l'audace, encore l'audace, toujours l'audace"!

To paraphrase mixed French 18th-century memorable quotations: after Biden, follows not the deluge, but now daring, and still more daring, and always more daring.

Why?

A combination of two self-evident truths.

Joe Biden's inept administration proved an ungodly disaster, not just for America but for the West as well, who looked abroad for a stronger America but found it weaker.

And second, Trump Invictus is now liberated--"In the fell clutch of circumstance/I have not winced nor cried aloud,/Under the bludgeonings of chance/My head is bloody, but unbowed."

He is without worry over another election, or a discredited and defanged media ("so doves do peck the falcon's piercing talons"), much less a third Nancy-Pelosi contrived impeachment.

Instead, he stalks indomitable, after failed de-balloting capers, failed lawfare vendettas, and failed two assassination attempts. To quote Shakespeare of his recent visit to Notre Dame and the once hostile Euro crowd who now mobbed him, "He doth bestride the narrow world /Like a Colossus, and we petty men /Walk under his huge legs and peep about /To find ourselves dishonorable graves".

In sum, our weakest president is to be followed by our most audacious.

Biden's bumbling arrogance nearly destroyed the American military in Kabul. It ruined Western deterrence. It showered the creepy Taliban with a multibillion-dollar new windfall arsenal.

His lies, his incompetence, and, yes, his narcissism demoralized Americans and our allies, but at least ensured he would never reach 50 percent approval again.

What immediately followed from the Kabul nightmare was as bad or indeed worse: two theater-wide wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, appeasement of Iran, hammering of Israel, a nonexistent US border, 12 million illegal aliens, the hyperinflation of staples, the weaponization of the executive branch, Third-World lawfare, looting and shoplifting legitimized, spiking crime contextualized, and printing trillions of debased dollars normalized.

Biden sought to turn the once preeminent US military into a cruel cultural woke joke.

The trainwreck of the last four years was force-multiplied by Biden's own feebleness, masked by the most scandalous media-politico conspiracy of suppresson of it in US history.

But now there is a giddy sense that restoration and normalization are not just possible but on the horizon.

The truth now is set free, and it smothers the old lying denials about the origins of COVID, about the truth of diversity/equity/inclusion, about the naked greed of the Biden family syndicate, about the dementia of Joe, about the chauvinism of three sexes, and about the joy and momentum of the fracking, gun-toting, MacDonald's veteran and border hawk Kamala Harris.

No one fears or listens to the now defenestrated frauds and tiring dissimulators: the Bidens, a Fauci, Mayorkas, Garland, Milley, Austin, Jean-Pierre, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, or McCabe--and their old lies that Hunter is brilliant, Biden is fit as a field, no gain-in-function viruses, a bat caused COVID, the border is secure, Chinese army generals are more trustworthy than Trump, the laptop was Russian, Trump is a Putin puppet, and always their nauseating "I can't recall", " I don't remember", "I have no recollection", and "I am not at liberty to say".

Our allies are feeling more confident, our enemies scared.

The idea of an impending deterrent and reliable Trump administration has terrified Iran and helped collapse Syria. Israelis buoyant. Not so Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis.

In anticipation, the dollar reigns, the stock market stays strong.

Even Trump's traditional enemies, whether on Wall Street, Silicon Valley, or in corporate board rooms are whispering that they secretly are delighted with their old nemesis's dream of more and cheaper energy, less government regulation and taxation, and confidence again that everything is now possible when a government says an exhilarant yes to dreams rather than a crabby no to them.

Suddenly the woke bullies are on the run. The porous border really can be closed; illegal alien gangs and criminals will be sent packing.

The Left now invokes no Logan Act. They are instead relieved that the President-elect is now the virtual President--and their guy is gone.

Biden yelps now that his sins were not doubling down on them and sinning even more when he had the chance.

New Year's Morning Rant

Happy New Year, Horde! For those of you who over-imbibed, I hope your hangovers start to wane soon. Regardless of the quantity or quality of libations, I hope New Year's Eve was pleasant and enjoyable, whatever you did. With a bow now on 2024, it's time, as always, too look ahead. There is nothing quite like a new year for prognostication as well as reflection, so I figure I'll take a crack at it.

For the first time in a while, there is more than simply doom to look forward to, and that's odd. I don't think it's going to be all wine and roses, but there will probably be at least some wine and roses, so that'll be a refreshing change. Some doom, too, of course. So let's jump in and we can see in December how I did. In no particular order:

The Morning Report — 1/1/25

Good morning kids. Happy New Year to you all!!! Before diving into the news, I want to wish each of you and your loved ones a new year blessed with an abundance of peace, happiness, prosperity and the good health to live the most wonderful of lives and to see all your dreams fulfilled.

Special greetings to Ace and the wonderful bunch of co-bloggers who make the HQ the best news and commentary site around. Year in and year out! Here's to a great 2025 for all of us.

And so here we go, out with the old and in with the same old insanity. As my beloved hometown of yore (which sadly exists only in my memories) watched the traditional New Year's Eve ball drop at Times Square, ringing out 2024 where a woman was immolated to death on a subway train by an illegal alien savage unleashed on us by Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants, this happened barely a mile away as the clock wound down it's final hours on an overall accursed year for our nation, society and the world:

The lunatic accused of randomly shoving a Big Apple straphanger onto Manhattan subway tracks Tuesday afternoon was charged with attempted murder, cops said.

Kamel Hawkins, 23, was also charged with second-degree assault after he allegedly pushed a complete stranger onto the tracks at the 18th Street station shortly after 1:30 p.m., according to police.

The terrifying ordeal, which was captured on chilling video footage obtained by The Post, showed the hooded brute roaming the edge of the platform while the victim appeared to be looking at his phone as the train pulled into the station.

There are erased national borders and then there is the erasure of law and order meant to ensure our personal safety and security. All that does, or at least is intended to do is foment such a sense of insecurity that the citizenry becomes willing to surrender their individual liberty and rights in exchange for security. As Benjamin Franklin once said:

“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”

The understandable schadenfreude that appears in the comments when a Democrat politician or Leftist apparatchik becomes a victim of the policies they inflict on us is only natural, and I'd be lying to you if I declared I didn't feel that way when it happens. But to actively root for NYC or wherever to be hit by an Iranian or NorK nuke is something else entirely. There are innocent people for whatever life circumstances cannot uproot themselves and leave, so far that their destruction is to be cheered and wished for? Sorry, not going there.

That said, like the child who continues to put his hand on a hot stove only to be burned and not learn his lesson not to do that, for people to continue to elect leaders that make their lives a living hell, time and time again, is equally inexcusable and worthy of our scorn and derision. ON a positive note, the election of Donald Trump perhaps is a sign that positive change in this cohort is happening. Or at the very least a window of opportunity to deprogram those who stick their hands on a hot stove, and worse potentially shove us into cattle cars or shoot us into mass graves, if we fail in that deprogramming.

With that preamble, the decriminalization of crime, and concomitant anarcho-terrorism it unleashed on us, meant as a means to get us to surrender our freedom for security and grease the skids for the final eradication of our country as founded has many perpetrators, but its chief architect and his progeny still roam among us. That is an abomination and hateful beyond words:

The Media Research Center obtained nearly 8,000 pages of internal documents through public records laws that show how a Soros-funded group called Fair and Just Prosecution (FJP) “directed Soros prosecutors to manipulate the rule of law concerning illegal immigration, drugs, abortion, election integrity, capital punishment and laws against childhood sex changes.” . . . . . . The Soros operation also pushed prosecutors to use mental or physical health specialists instead of police by sharing polling that showed that the idea was popular.

Soros has poured the kind of money normally reserved for statewide campaigns low-profile local prosecutor races. The Hungarian billionaire generally targets primary elections in blue areas, funding radical progressives in their races against more moderate Democrats. Once in office, these “progressive prosecutors” often decline to enforce laws they find objectionable.

Along with unleashing a wave of terrorism from coast to coast, Soros has put millions of dollars in efforts to destroy election integrity laws all over the country, which of course is how his preferred candidates get elected in offices up and down the ballot, not just District Attorneys.

His vast $25 Billion empire is now being controlled by his spawn Alex (now married to former Carlos Danger Weiner receptacle Huma Abedin and Hillary's personal Stanley Steemer) who visited the Biden infested Oval Office dozens of times in the past few years, to see him or whoever was pulling his strings.

In terms of draining the Swamp, Donald Trump and Kash Patel should make Soros and his entire organization PUBLIC ENEMY #1. There is ample evidence to declare the Open Societies Foundation a subversive, criminal organization and danger to national security. RICO the shit out of them, shut them down and confiscate every last red cent. Red as in communist and blood red from the rivers of it that they have shed.

I believe George Soros might be facing a death sentence in Hungary and at least one other country for his actions in destabilizing their currencies among other things. If anyone has any links, let me know.

Because years ago, he admitted on 60 Minutes to Steve Kroft IIRC that he was proud to help his father in rounding up Hungarian Jews for the Nazis to ship off to Birkenau, or otherwise be shot into the Danube which quite literally ran red with their blood. A fate that nearly befell an uncle who was miraculously rescued on two occasions by Raoul Wallenberg. For his services to as Whoopi rape-rape Fat Albert Speer might say, literally Hitler-Hitler, he and his father were paid quite handsomely with the expropriated property and money of their Jewish victims. Blood Money for sure.

That there should be cause enough for him to be stripped of his citizenship and deported back to Hungary to face trial. It's been done before to Nazis and their collaborators who falsified their wartime activities to come here.

If we're intent on deporting illegal alien criminals, He should be targeted first. Doing away with Soros and kneecapping his evil spawn would all by itself Make America Great Again all by itself.

On another and for sure related note, Biden's final and completely unnecessary Fuck You to America as he departs the White House, along with the commutation of death sentences for some of the most vile, execrable bestial savages including most notably the mastermind of 9/11.

President Joe Biden’s junta reached the plea deals with the terrorists last summer, allowing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin Attash, and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi to avoid the death penalty while pleading guilty to all charges against them, including the murder of nearly 3,000 people on September 11, 2001, the Associated Press reported. Shortly after the plea deals were announced, Austin issued an order saying he would nullify them, the AP reported, citing the impact of the devastating attacks and claiming that he should be the one to decide whether the defendants should get plea deals.

But defense attorneys argued that Austin didn’t have the authority to reject the plea deals, which had been approved by Guantanamo Bay’s top court. That court said Austin’s attempt to scuttle the plea deals amounted to unlawful interference in the case, according to the AP.

I'd wager Alex Soros on one of his trips to see Biden whispered in his ear about plea deals. Hopefully Joey hallucinated and took him for his 12-year-old daughter Ashley and grabbed his crotch. I'm no fan of Lloyd Austin for acting as the Junta's flunky for the past four years in taking a sledgehammer to the armed forces in terms of morale and readiness, and competence. But I'm pleasantly surprised that even he tried to stop this insanity.

Perhaps there is a Luigi Mangione on our side stationed at GITMO who can do what needed to be done 20 years ago. In front of a global audience.

2024: The Greatest Year of Media/Government Disinformation

8. Trump's Liz Cheney Comments

One of the biggest media-driven hoaxes concocted this year was the manipulation of Trump's remarks about Liz Cheney.

While speaking at an event days before the Nov. 5 election, Trump critiqued Cheney's obsession with overseas military adventurism. The former president referred to Cheney as a "radical war hawk" and defended the troops forced to fight in the never-ending conflicts neocons like Cheney would never personally partake in.

"Let's put her with a rifle, standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, okay? Let's see how she feels about it ... when the guns are trained on her face. You know, they're all war hawks when they're sitting in Washington in a nice building saying, 'Gee, let's send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy,'" Trump said.

In the wake of Biden's "garbage" smear, the media rushed to distort Trump's comments to make it appear as if he was calling for Cheney to be executed via firing squad. The disinformation operation represented a clear attempt to smear Trump ahead of the election and boost Harris' prospects.

9. What Assassination Attempts?

If you watched and read nothing but legacy media, there's a good chance you'd know little to nothing about the two assassination attempts against Trump this year.

After a longtime Democrat donor allegedly tried to kill the incoming president on his Palm Beach golf course in September, left-wing propagandists at NBC News and The Washington Post downplayed the attempted murder as nothing more than an "incident." Outlets like Time magazine whitewashed the suspect's history of donating to Democrats, characterizing him in a tweet as a "58-year-old with unclear political ideology."

Such dishonest propaganda isn't surprising, however. It's the same playbook these media hacks -- who spent years leading an "assassination prep" campaign with horrific smears and lies directed at Trump -- deployed when initially "covering" the first assassination attempt against Trump in July.

10. The Atlantic's Hitler Hysteria

In a last-ditch attempt to salvage Kamala Harris' flailing presidential bid, The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg -- who ran the debunked 2020 "suckers" and losers" smear -- published an anonymously sourced October hit piece with claims that Trump said he wanted "the kind of generals that Hitler had." It also contained accusations that Trump expressed anger about paying for the funeral services of a murdered Army soldier.

To the media, it didn't matter that the soldier's sister blasted Goldberg for his anti-Trump fabrications, or that numerous former Trump administration officials debunked the bogus claims. What mattered was regurgitating The Atlantic's slanderous hatchet job, which they did with no questions asked.

Update: CNN's Abby Phillips is a disinformation All-Star.

Possibly the biggest disinformation concerned the fact that the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS ESSENTIALLY A VEGETABLE.

This was officially "cheapfake disinformation" until they could hide it no more.

In which Matt Yglesias admits he was incapable of assessing and investigating Biden’s condition on his own and needed "insiders" to feed him talking points so he could function as a "journalist."

Biden and his aides are pushing the story that this shiftless grifter-vegetable should have remained in the race.

"Biden and some of his aides still believe he should have stayed in the race, despite the rocky debate performance and low poll numbers that prompted Democrats to pressure him to drop out," the Post reported. "Biden and these aides have told people in recent days that he could have defeated Trump, according to people familiar with their comments, who spoke on the condition of anonymity."

Biden might earnestly believe that the confused, slow, dead-eyed, mouth-breathing performance he delivered at the June debate against Trump was because he "was sick" -- a one-off night that he could recover from before election day.

People suffering from dementia oftentimes lack self-awareness. Also, it's what he was being told. That Washington Post story led with an anecdote from Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), who, you might remember, was the man who saved Biden's foundering primary campaign in 2020. Clyburn "made a confession" to the Post about his "belief that substance is more important than style in politics."

"I have come to the conclusion in recent days that I'm wrong about that," Clyburn told Biden after the debate. "The new environment that we currently live in -- style seems to carry the day more than substance," and "Your style does not lend itself well to the environment we're currently in."

"Style" was Biden's problem on June 27 -- yeah, that's the ticket. Yet it's the theme threaded throughout WaPo's excuse-mongering report on a failed president, with reporter Tyler Pager going deep to sell the fiction that Biden was a success on substance but doomed to a single term by a country obsessed with mere style.
