Last week we learned that the Des Moines school system hired a fugitive illegal alien to be the superintendent of schools. He was found with a loaded gun, which I don't think is legal for illegals.
He also had prior outstanding warrants for weapon possession. He was hired by a former Obama staffer named Jackie Norris. Now we find out that she's running to be a Senator from Iowa, to replace the retiring feminist RINO Joni Ernst. And she's doubling down on what a great idea it was to hire an unqualified illegal alien. And don't think he was some kind of exceptional administrator. His last evaluation stated that he "Meets Expectations," which is the middle grade for employees. A Gentleman's C, in other words. God Save these United States from Michelle Obama's and Hillary Clinton's endless hordes of angry, unqualified lesbian gender revanchists.
Democrat Jackie Norris, who oversaw the Des Moines, Iowa School Board for several years while an illegal immigrant named Ian Andre Roberts ran Des Moines' public schools, has rushed to defend Roberts publicly as he faces removal proceedings from immigration services. The Department of Homeland Security said Roberts was found in possession of a loaded handgun, $3,000 in cash and a fixed-blade hunting knife. But by defending Roberts, Norris may be undermining her own U.S. Senate campaign in a state that is growing increasingly conservative. Norris' campaign did not respond to a request for comment from Just the News. Norris encouraged "radical empathy" for Roberts Although it is a violation of federal law for those in the U.S. without legal status to possess a firearm and ammunition, Norris, who is also the former chief of staff for First Lady Michelle Obama, urged people to have "radical empathy" for the superintendent, Ian Roberts, an illegal immigrant from Guyana who has held education positions at school districts across the Midwest and mid-Atlantic regions, despite his immigration status. "There is much we do not know," Norris said. "However, what we do know is that Dr. Roberts has been an integral part of our school community since he joined over two years ago." "During his time with our district, he has shown up in ways big and small and has advocated for students and staff, and has begun introducing concepts that will help us reimagine education for future generations," she added. ... Nowhere in her statement did Norris address the fact that Immigration and Customs Enforcement said on Saturday that the agency had arrested Roberts after he sped away from officers in his vehicle during a "targeted enforcement operation" last Friday. He abandoned his vehicle near a "wooded area." Moreover, the vehicle was issued to him by the school district.
...
According to ICE, Roberts had existing weapons possession charges from 2020 and was issued a removal order by an immigration judge in May 2024. The superintendent had entered the country in 1999 on a student visa, but apparently remained in the country. ... The controversy comes at a bad time for Norris, who just last month expanded her political ambitions to include a seat in the U.S. Senate. When she launched her bid for the seat in the Democratic primary, she cited her experience on the Des Moines School Board as part of her qualifications.

Schumer bucked radical Democrats' demands to shut the government down in March. Now, under threat of a primary by the flat-faced peasant whore Alexandria Donkey-Chompers, he's going to stop all government funding to force Trump to fund free health care for illegals.
It's really amazing. This insane strategy is being pushed by the Soros-funded "No Kings" protest group"Indivisible," which is an odd name as they do nothing but divide and create strife and agitate for civil war.
As you probably know, Trump has already telegraphed his response to a shut down. Usually during a shut down, "non-vital" bureaucrats are furloughed. This is a scam. They get a few weeks off from working, and then get paid their lost wages when government re-opens. Trump has a different plan. He will use the opportunity of a shut down to fire thousands of unneeded bureaucrats including very senior and power left-wing bureaucrats making $100-200,000 per year. The top of the Deep State command structure. UK's Sharia-Compliant State Media: Trump threatens "irreversible layoffs" -- that is, firings -- when the government shut down. They will not be "furloughed" and then paid later for a paid vacation. They will just be shitcanned forever.
A left-wing activist group that received millions of dollars from the Soros family's organization is spearheading a pressure campaign to push Democratic senators to vote against funding the government and force a partial shutdown. Indivisible -- the organization behind many of the recent "No Kings" protests and other demonstrations part of the so-called "resistance" against President Donald Trump -- has embarked on a recent effort to goad Senate Democrats to not come to a bipartisan funding agreement with their Republican colleagues and the president. The group's website currently hosts a form enabling people to easily contact their Democratic senators by phone, complete with a script of what to say. The group's non-tax-deductible entity, Indivisible Project, has received a total of $7.6 million in grants from the Soros' Open Society Foundations (OSF) over the past eight years, according to Indivisible's website. OSF is a grantmaking network which left-wing billionaire George Soros founded in 1993 and his son, Alexander Soros, currently chairs. "Federal government funding runs out on September 30 -- and Republicans need Democratic votes to clear the filibuster and avoid a government shutdown," Indivisible's form states. "Democrats have a strong hand to play. They must use it to deny Donald Trump the blank check Republicans want to hand him!"

I regret nothing about quitting the NFL.
You knew the NFL was gay, but THIS gay? Yep, the league has selected Puerto Rican hip-hop star Bad Bunny (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) to play this year's halftime show."Sola" is the feminine form of "solo."
Even though his songs are some of the top-streamed songs in the world, they're mostly in Spanish, and few Americans over the age of 30 have heard of the guy. Bad Bunny's hit songs include titles like "Yo Perreo Sola" ("I Twerk Alone"), in which he dons a dress and prothetic breasts. LGBT outlet Pink News loved it when they reported on it in 2020.
He's been called a "queer icon" who likes to crossdress and makes out with his male backup dancers while performing (I'll spare you that particular photo).More at the link. Including this transgender dancing in a dress with fake giant breasts. Apparently the NFL signed a multiyear deal with Friend-of-Obama and Friend of Puff "Freak Off" Diddy Jay Z to produce the Super Bowl halftime show and of course this freak picks freaks to put on. Hey, Kids! Football! America's Sport!

WASHINGTON -- The Biden administration put Americans who defied COVID-19 mask mandates on no-fly lists -- some of which are ordinarily used to flag suspected terrorists -- according to preliminary findings from an internal Department of Homeland Security investigation obtained by The Post. DHS flagged 19 Americans to Transportation Security Administration watchlists between Sept. 30, 2021, and Oct. 25, 2021, more than half of whom received the most severe no-fly designation and were prevented from boarding domestic flight as a result. At least 11 of those Americans were kept on the watchlists until April 2022, when a federal court ruling forced the Biden administration to end its mask mandate. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said that "Biden's TSA wildly abused their authority" when sharing the findings from the internal investigation, first reported by Fox News, into what the prior administration had dubbed Operation Freedom to Breathe. "Biden's TSA Administrator [David] Pekoske and his cronies abused their authority and weaponized the federal government against the very people they were charged with protecting," Noem said in a statement ...Speaking of firing Democrat political activists who have burrowed into the supposedly non-partisan bureaucracy: Kash Patel fired 20 Democrat activists taking checks from the FBI who wore their FBI vests and windbreakers while kneeling for St. George Floyd of the Bloated Heart.
Noem fired five senior official associated with the operation and referred relevant information to the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division as well as to members of Congress for further investigation. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who chairs the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, put out a brief report Monday stating that at least 24 Americans were put on TSA watchlists due merely to their association with a protest group called the Freedom to Breathe Agency, which protested mask mandates.
The FBI has fired roughly 20 agents who were photographed kneeling during a 2020 Black Lives Matter protest in Washington, D.C. The decision follows an internal review that found the agents violated bureau standards by engaging in politically charged conduct while on duty. Key Details: The Associated Press reported Saturday that several FBI agents were terminated after being identified in photos kneeling during a BLM protest in the nation's capital. Two sources said the total was about 20.
The FBI Agents Association confirmed the dismissals Friday. The group said it had urged Congress to review the firings, though Director Patel stated that all disciplinary actions were based on violations of bureau policy.
The kneeling occurred as protesters confronted federal agents protecting government buildings and monuments. According to CNN, FBI officials warned at the time that agents were not trained for crowd control and that such displays could compromise their neutrality.

Last week the leftwing freaked -- plot twist, I know -- over Hegseth's sudden call for all top military leaders to gather in Virginia.
They freaked because they suspected what was coming: Trump and Hegseth would tell the wokies the free ride is over. Reform or resign. But Hegseth did more than that. He called them a bunch of fat weakling cucks.
'We Are Done With That Sh*t': Trump, Hegseth Demand Excellence From Military Brass "If the words I'm saying today are making your heart sink, then you should do the honorable thing and resign."
QUANTICO -- Secretary of War Pete Hegseth looked into the eyes of hundreds of his top military leaders on Tuesday as he shared his new directives for the War Department -- including the news that every military branch will ensure that requirements for combat positions return to "the highest male standard." "This job is life or death," he emphasized. "Standards must be met ... it's common sense and core to who we are and what we do."
The Secretary of War addressed a room filled with United States military leaders from around the world, while legacy media outlets fretted over the "unprecedented" gathering. ... "We must be so strong that no nation will dare challenge us, so powerful that no enemy will dare threaten us, and so capable that no adversary can even think about beating us," the president said Tuesday. ... No longer will the War Department tolerate ideological standards or quotas or punish leaders for supposed "toxic" attitudes, Hegseth said. No more "identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses," nor will it tolerate leadership that is not aligned with the War Department's mission, he noted, pointing out to those present that he had fired some military leaders. The ideology and lowered standards implemented during President Joe Biden's administration are over, both Trump and Hegseth said. "We're done with that shit," Hegseth said. ... Hegseth repeatedly mentioned his concerns about lowered standards in the United States military, particularly when it comes to fitness and grooming, sharing that at his direction on Tuesday, every member of the Joint Force at every rank will be required to take a biannual PT test and to meet height and weight requirements for "every year of service." He even went so far as to call out leadership themselves on this issue: "It's unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon, and leading all around the world. It's a bad look, and it's not who we are!" ... He specifically noted that the fitness changes are not being made in order to weed women out of the armed forces. "If women can make it, excellent," he said. "If not, it is what it is...It will also mean that weak men won't qualify, because we're not playing games. This is combat. This is life or death." The War Secretary told the military brass: "If the words I'm saying today are making your heart sink, then you should do the honorable thing and resign."
He doesn't just talk about physical fitness standards, but grooming standards. That's not just about clipping nails. He's talking about the grooming standards for men and the standards for women, and he means men are going to have to dress like men with men's haircuts and women will have to dress like women. (Women can probably cut their hair short if they like. I think the standard forbids long hair for men, but I don't think there's any minimum length standard for women.)
Thanks to Clyde Shelton.

In a meeting scheduled for Sunday, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies including Russia, together known as OPEC+, will likely approve another oil production increase of at least 137,000 barrels per day, three sources familiar with the talks said. Goldman Sachs on Tuesday said that it expects OPEC+ to raise oil production quotas by 140,000 barrels per day for November.

[Five Year Price Chart of West Texas Intermediate]
The price of crude oil has dropped about 10% since the 2024 presidential election. And domestic production is expected to reach 13.41-million-barrels/day in 2025...a record! So why is that important? Because we can supply a huge amount of our domestic usage, while still exporting 10 million barrels/day. That decrease in oil price helps us domestically far more than it damages our export revenue. Contrast that with Russia, which depends far more on that export revenue. Sadly, a decrease in oil prices helps net importers...like China! But the more immediate impact on Russia's financial health might be more important. Will it pressure Putin to accelerate his Ukraine sojourn? Or maybe it will provide the impetus for some sort of negotiated ceasefire or peace treaty. Or maybe he will simply pump more oil and try to make up the difference. I doubt Russia pays attention to the OPEC+ production restrictions anyway. Putin will pump what he needs to sell, regardless! But that is a nasty little feedback loop. Pump more, drive prices down, so he needs to pump even more! All the while his petroleum infrastructure is decaying, and he can't buy a lot of equipment because of sanctions! By the way, Qatar exports most of their petroleum, so they are quite vulnerable to price decreases. It would be a shame if the Emir of Qatar would have to cut back on his funding of Hamas, Islamist programs at American universities, Tucker Carlson, and Al Jazeera! [Crossposted at CutJibNewsletter and X/Twitter]. If you folks who are on X/Twitter would follow us it would be much appreciated!

Yes, while sometimes I get the feeling that the President is either being ill-advised or else just doesn't have a true understanding of the underlying history of the region and the nature of Islam itself, and is just eager for some kind of a deal that both looks good on his trophy shelf and takes an issue off the table allowing him to focus on other things that potentially could threaten his legacy at home and abroad and perhaps cripple the MAGA agenda and whoever its standard-bearer will be (perhaps J.D. Vance) going into 2028.
On a positive note that is not unrelated to the aforementioned and is directly related to the Democrat-fueled wave of political violence and terrorism here at home:
Americans are right to be deeply concerned about what is happening in our own country. Radical Islam is now embedded here at home, cloaked in citizenship and political power. In Dearborn, Michigan, the city’s Muslim mayor publicly berated a Christian pastor -- one of his own constituents -- labeling him “Islamophobic” and declaring him unwelcome in Dearborn. The pastor’s supposed offense? A respectful protest at a City Council meeting against renaming a major road after an open supporter of terrorism. . . And who can forget October 8, 2023 -- the day after Hamas terrorists butchered Israeli families in their homes? Before Israel could even count its dead, or bury its bodies, America’s elite universities -- including Columbia -- erupted in demonstrations supporting Hamas. This is the America we are living in: where radical sympathizers are not just chanting in the streets but are increasingly wielding power in city halls, disrupting civic life, and excusing terror on our campuses. The threat is no longer “out there.” It’s here. And as is self-evident, the black heart of Islam beats loudest and strongest inside the Democrat party. Both share the common goal of overthrowing America which is the crowning achievement of several thousand years of human development and Western civilization. And Democrats are merely their temporary allies of convenience who will deliver our heads and this nation to them on a silver platter, before their own heads of course are lopped off when they are no longer needed.
And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know. Have a good day!

Quote I “What good does it do me, after all, if an ever-watchful authority keeps an eye out to ensure that my pleasures will be tranquil and races ahead of me to ward off all danger, sparing me the need even to think about such things, if that authority, even as it removes the smallest thorns from my path, is also absolute master of my liberty and my life; if it monopolizes vitality and existence to such a degree that when it languishes, everything around it must also languish; when it sleeps, everything must also sleep; and when it dies, everything must also perish? There are some nations in Europe whose inhabitants think of themselves in a sense as colonists, indifferent to the fate of the place they live in. The greatest changes occur in their country without their cooperation. They are not even aware of precisely what has taken place. They suspect it; they have heard of the event by chance. More than that, they are unconcerned with the fortunes of their village, the safety of their streets, the fate of their church and its vestry. They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called “the government.” They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved. They are so divorced from their own interests that even when their own security and that of their children is finally compromised, they do not seek to avert the danger themselves but cross their arms and wait for the nation as a whole to come to their aid. Yet as utterly as they sacrifice their own free will, they are no fonder of obedience than anyone else. They submit, it is true, to the whims of a clerk, but no sooner is force removed than they are glad to defy the law as a defeated enemy. Thus one finds them ever wavering between servitude and license. When a nation has reached this point, it must either change its laws and mores or perish, for the well of public virtue has run dry: in such a place one no longer finds citizens but only subjects.”
―Alexis de Tocqueville, Democracy in America

"The largest mass resignation in history."
Wow. Even when Trump isn't doing anything at all, he's racking up the W's. Now, this seems to be woke DEI hires taking Trump's very nice deal of getting a nice separation package instead of being fired.US set for largest mass resignation in history as Trump continues deep cuts Federal workers say they have little choice but to depart, with 100,000 leaving under deferred resignation program The Trump administration is set to oversee the largest mass resignation in US history on Tuesday, with more than 100,000 federal workers set to formally quit as part of the latest wave of its deferred resignation program. With Congress facing a deadline of Tuesday to authorize more funding or spark a government shutdown, the White House has also ordered federal agencies to draw up plans for large-scale firings of workers if the partisan fight fails to yield a deal. Workers preparing to leave government as part of the resignation program -- one of several pillars of Donald Trump's sweeping cuts to the federal workforce -- have described how months of "fear and intimidation" left them feeling like they had no choice but to depart. "Federal workers stay for the mission. When that mission is taken away, when they're scapegoated, when their job security is uncertain, and when their tiny semblance of work-life balance is stripped away, they leave," a longtime employee at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) told the Guardian. "That's why I left." The total resignation program is set to cost $14.8bn, with 200,000 workers paid their full salary and benefits while on administrative leave for up to eight months, according to a Senate Democrats' report in July.I am not pleased by the generosity of this offer.
Let's hope. Thanks to @ComradeArthur.
Trump officials argue this outlay is worth it. The Office of Personnel Management claimed the one-time costs lower longer-term spending by the federal government. It also criticized job protections of federal civil servants, claiming the government should have a "modern, at-will employment framework like most employers".

Mayor Eric Adams' decision to drop his re-election bid provides a boost to Andrew Cuomo in the race for City Hall, but not nearly enough to topple mayoral front-runner and Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, pollsters and campaign strategists said. Before his Sunday announcement, Adams was polling in the high single digits -- not enough alone to change the trajectory of the race, said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist University Institute for Public Opinion. The mayor received 9% support in Marist's poll released earlier this month, a distant fourth behind Mamdani, Cuomo and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa. There are too few Adams voters to shift elsewhere to make a dramatic difference. "It gives Cuomo a boost -- but it's not enough," Miringoff told The Post. Slingshot Strategies' founding partner Evan Roth Smith, who is also a lead pollster for Blueprint, echoed Miringoff's point. "There just aren't enough Adams voters out there to go somewhere new," Smith said. "So all said, it's probably worth a couple points for Andrew Cuomo, but Andrew Cuomo needs way more than a couple points to catch up to Zohran."
Zohran Mamdani will, of course, make it so onerous to live in NYC that anyone who can flee, will flee. The city's tax base will depart, and the city will be left with Mamdani's trillion dollars of spending and thimble-full of tax revenue. I think the entire plan is to bankrupt the city and then demand that the federal government bail them out. The real plan of socialism is always to pirate away other people's money. But Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says that Mamdani will get no bailout from the US. And he uses a line from the 70s, when a bankrupt NYC demanded a bailout from the accidental president Gerry Ford.

U.S. Treasury's Bessent message to NYC on any bailout: 'Drop dead' The Trump administration will not bail out New York City in any financial crisis if Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani follows through with his plans, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Wednesday. "I guarantee you - and there are not a lot of things in life that are sure - that New York City will be coming to the federal government for a bailout if the Mamdani plans are implemented," Bessent said in an interview with Fox Business Network. Asked if he would give the city a bailout under those circumstances, Bessent said, "It will be the same thing that Gerald Ford said: 'Drop dead.'" While former President Ford never actually said those words, a New York tabloid headline used the phrase to capture the moment in 1975 when the Republican president refused to bail out New York as it was on the verge of bankruptcy.Below, Bessent's remarks made to Maria Bartiromo. Bessent notes that NYC already saw the greatest flight of capital in history, from Manhattan to Palm Beach County, under "Red" diBlasio.
Mamdani's office did not immediately return a request for comment on Bessent's remarks.

Emma Watson is a stupid little flake with a weird face and dead eyes who embraced transgender insanity completely when it was trendy and hot.
Now that it's not so trendy and hot, she's attempting to re-position herself as being more moderate. Surely for careerist, conformist reasons. She's a dim bulb and says whatever is popular, when it is popular, because it is popular. (As Ya Boi Zach used to say about bubble-headed feminists who claimed to be into comic books but only after the MCU made them culturally ubiquitous.) After burying Rowling for years, she suddenly announces, "I still treasure JK Rowling." Still? JK Rowling isn't having any of Watson's careerist repositioning.J.K. RowlingShe next turns to Emma Watson's speech at the 2022 BAFTA awards, in which she said "I'm here for all witches." This was taken as a not-so-subtle attack on JK Rowling and a claim of solidarity with transgenders, which is the group she meant by "all witches." (Or maybe she meant that transgenders should be part of the group of (female) witches.) Either way, it was a dunk on JK Rowling.
@jk_rowling 9h I'm seeing quite a bit of comment about this, so I want to make a couple of points. I'm not owed eternal agreement from any actor who once played a character I created. The idea is as ludicrous as me checking with the boss I had when I was twenty-one for what opinions I should hold these days. Emma Watson and her co-stars have every right to embrace gender identity ideology. Such beliefs are legally protected, and I wouldn't want to see any of them threatened with loss of work, or violence, or death, because of them. However, Emma and Dan in particular have both made it clear over the last few years that they think our former professional association gives them a particular right - nay, obligation - to critique me and my views in public. Years after they finished acting in Potter, they continue to assume the role of de facto spokespeople for the world I created. When you've known people since they were ten years old it's hard to shake a certain protectiveness. Until quite recently, I hadn't managed to throw off the memory of children who needed to be gently coaxed through their dialogue in a big scary film studio. For the past few years, I've repeatedly declined invitations from journalists to comment on Emma specifically, most notably on the Witch Trials of JK Rowling. Ironically, I told the producers that I didn't want her to be hounded as the result of anything I said.
The television presenter in the attached clip highlights Emma's 'all witches' speech, and in truth, that was a turning point for me, but it had a postscript that hurt far more than the speech itself. Emma asked someone to pass on a handwritten note from her to me, which contained the single sentence 'I'm so sorry for what you're going through' (she has my phone number). This was back when the death, rape and torture threats against me were at their peak, at a time when my personal security measures had had to be tightened considerably and I was constantly worried for my family's safety. Emma had just publicly poured more petrol on the flames, yet thought a one line expression of concern from her would reassure me of her fundamental sympathy and kindness. Like other people who've never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and fame, Emma has so little experience of real life she's ignorant of how ignorant she is. She'll never need a homeless shelter. She's never going to be placed on a mixed sex public hospital ward. I'd be astounded if she's been in a high street changing room since childhood. Her 'public bathroom' is single occupancy and comes with a security man standing guard outside the door. Has she had to strip off in a newly mixed-sex changing room at a council-run swimming pool? Is she ever likely to need a state-run rape crisis centre that refuses to guarantee an all-female service? To find herself sharing a prison cell with a male rapist who's identified into the women's prison? I wasn't a multimillionaire at fourteen. I lived in poverty while writing the book that made Emma famous. I therefore understand from my own life experience what the trashing of women's rights in which Emma has so enthusiastically participated means to women and girls without her privileges. The greatest irony here is that, had Emma not decided in her most recent interview to declare that she loves and treasures me - a change of tack I suspect she's adopted because she's noticed full-throated condemnation of me is no longer quite as fashionable as it was - I might never have been this honest. Adults can't expect to cosy up to an activist movement that regularly calls for a friend's assassination, then assert their right to the former friend's love, as though the friend was in fact their mother. Emma is rightly free to disagree with me and indeed to discuss her feelings about me in public - but I have the same right, and I've finally decided to exercise it.

I don't mean the nice, clean sex dungeons that you guys are accustomed to.
The DOJ website:
Joseph Nocella Jr., United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Christopher G. Raia, Assistant Director in Charge, New York Field Office (FBI), and Harry T. Chavis, Jr., Special Agent in Charge, Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, New York (IRS-CI New York) announced the arrests and indictment. "As alleged, the defendants used Rubin's wealth to mislead and recruit women to engage in commercial sex acts, where Rubin then tortured women beyond their consent, causing lasting physical and/or psychological pain, and in some cases physical injuries," stated United States Attorney Nocella. "Today's arrests show that no one who engages in sex trafficking, in this case in luxury hotels and a penthouse apartment that featured a so-called sex 'dungeon,' is above the law, and that they will be brought to justice. Human beings are not chattel to be exploited for sex and sadistically abused, and anyone who thinks otherwise can expect to find themselves in handcuffs and facing federal prosecution like these defendants." "For many years, Howard Rubin and Jennifer Powers allegedly spent at least one million dollars to finance the commercial sexual torture of multiple women via a national trafficking network. The defendants allegedly exploited Rubin's status to ensnare their prospective victims and forced them to endure unthinkable physical trauma before silencing any outcries with threats of legal recourse," stated FBI Assistant Director in Charge Raia. "The FBI will continue to apprehend any trafficker who sexually abuses others for twisted gratification." "It's alleged Rubin directed a sex trafficking enterprise, exploiting women who were transported from across the country to his Manhattan penthouse that was equipped with a soundproof sex room filled with BDSM equipment, including a device used to shock the women," stated Special Agent in Charge of IRS-CI Chavis. "This was not a one-man show. While Rubin dehumanized these women with abhorrent sexual acts, Powers is alleged to have run the day-to-day operations of the enterprise and got paid generously for her efforts. IRS-CI and FBI partnered to see fit that all the facts are detailed in this case and ensure that this pair realizes the full consequences of their ghastly behaviors."
According to the New York Times, which knows what good sex dungeons are and what bad sex dungeons are, this sex dungeon was used to abuse women beyond the limits of what they consented to and even leave them "maimed."
Sounds like it was more than a rape fantasy. Sounds, in fact, like rape, period.
Ex-Wall Street Star Accused of Abusing Women in Penthouse Sex 'Dungeon' Federal prosecutors say Howard Rubin, who faces sex trafficking charges, took victims to his apartment, where a bedroom was painted red, soundproofed and fitted with devices to use on the women.
The penthouse of the sleek, postmodern Metropolitan Tower in Midtown Manhattan offers panoramic views of New York. But for more than five years, a former Wall Street trader used it as a sex "dungeon," luring women in and leaving them maimed and bruised, federal prosecutors say. Howard Rubin, 70, a former Salomon Brothers bond trader who was made Wall Street-famous in a book about the firm, was arrested Friday on sex trafficking charges. Prosecutors said he took women to the penthouse blocks from Central Park, where a bedroom was painted red, soundproofed and fitted with devices to use on the women, according to an indictment unsealed in Federal District Court in Brooklyn. Along with a personal assistant, Jennifer Powers, Mr. Rubin recruited and paid at least a half-dozen women to participate in bondage and sadomasochism, but the acts went far beyond what the women had signed up for, according to prosecutors.
Ms. Powers, 45, was primarily responsible for the logistics of the trafficking, prosecutors said, including by recruiting and paying the women, arranging for them to sign nondisclosure agreements, and taking notes on the encounters and whether Mr. Rubin enjoyed them. Ms. Powers was arrested in Texas and set to be transferred to Brooklyn. Prosecutors said Mr. Rubin took advantage of the women, many of whom were especially vulnerable because of their histories of addiction and abuse. Mr. Rubin was arrested at his rental home in Fairfield, Conn., and appeared before Magistrate Judge Peggy Kuo in Federal District Court in Brooklyn on Friday afternoon wearing a blue windbreaker and jeans. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. In addition to sex trafficking, Mr. Rubin was also charged with bank fraud, and both Mr. Rubin and Ms. Powers were charged with transporting people across state lines for the purposes of prostitution. Both defendants face life in prison if convicted. A lawyer for Mr. Rubin declined to comment. A lawyer for Ms. Powers could not be immediately reached on Friday. Though women were told they could use a "safe word" to stop any sexual encounter, prosecutors said, they were often unable to utter it because they were gagged or Mr. Rubin simply ignored their pleas. The room would often remain locked during the encounters, prosecutors said, while the women were shocked, beaten and violated. Mr. Rubin also provided the women with copious amounts of drugs and alcohol before their sex acts, prosecutors said, despite the terms of the nondisclosure agreement. In one encounter, Mr. Rubin gave a female victim a sedative that made her unconscious so he could enact a rape fantasy, they said.
He was previously sued civilly for the rapes. Now he's facing criminal charges.
All told, Mr. Rubin and Ms. Powers spent at least $1 million on the network, which ran from 2009 to 2019, prosecutors said. The women were trafficked to the penthouse, which Mr. Rubin rented for $18,000 per month, from 2011 to 2017, according to court papers. The nondisclosure agreements, which Mr. Rubin kept in the penthouse, stipulated that the women assumed the risks of the activity, that Mr. Rubin had not provided them drugs or alcohol and that they would not discuss the sex acts publicly. If they violated the agreement, they would have to pay Mr. Rubin $500,000, prosecutors said.
... Mr. Rubin gleefully discussed his exploits with Ms. Powers through messages sent from his work email, prosecutors said. In a 2013 email, Mr. Rubin said that the activity would leave a woman "sore and bruised for probably a week." ... Tara McGrath, a federal prosecutor, said there were dozens more victims who had not been named in court papers, and that Mr. Rubin had relied on 10 other people to carry out the scheme who have not been charged. ... He became an object of fascination on Wall Street, Mr. Lewis wrote, for his application of behavioral research to mortgage sales. He later became infamous for his role in a $250 million loss in 1987 at Merrill Lynch, which was at the time one of the largest reported by a Wall Street firm. (That would be more than $700 million in 2025 dollars.) Merrill's executives blamed Mr. Rubin for the loss for making unauthorized trades of mortgage-backed securities. Why are they all demons?
After leaving Merrill Lynch, Mr. Rubin became a fund manager at Bear Stearns and then Soros Fund Management.

Democratic New Jersey gubernatorial hopeful Mikie Sherrill's husband was also caught up in the Naval Academy cheating scandal that has rocked her campaign, court documents exclusively obtained by The Post show. Jason Hedberg was one of about four dozen midshipmen who sued top officials at the Naval Academy, Navy and Pentagon in 1994 in a desperate bid to block an Honor Board at Annapolis from deciding whether they should be dismissed from the school. "In compliance with the orders of their superior military officers, each named plaintiff was compelled to make inculpatory statements to Navy Inspector General investigators," read the complaint, which charged that the students were denied due process. The details of any "inculpatory statements" by Hedberg are unclear. However, his name is included in the 1994 commencement program, suggesting that he -- unlike Sherrill -- was cleared to take part in exercises some three months after the suit was filed. The candidate Mikie wasn't allowed to walk during graduation due to her own involvement in the cheating scandal. She claims her only sin was being too loyal to her fellow cheaters and not testifying against them -- but she's also refusing to release her military records so that we can see whether that was her "only sin" or not.
LOL. Of course she's The Real Victim Here.
Sherrill told the New Jersey Globe, which first reported Thursday on her being barred from commencement, that her punishment was a consequence of her decision not to "turn in some of my classmates." A source close to a rival campaign questioned that statement. "Nobody, including Mikie Sherrill, was barred from graduation ceremonies for covering for their friends," claimed this person, who has reviewed the documents. "That's a bunch of bulls--. Midshipmen were, however, punished for lying to Naval investigators." While no evidence has surfaced that the future congresswoman was punished for being untruthful to school officials, there are also indications that she has not been up front about what transpired. Sherrill's team has rejected requests to release disciplinary records from her academy days, which would provide details of any involvement in the scandal. In response to inquiries from The Post Friday, Sherril's campaign communications director Sean Higgins said: "The fact [GOP candidate] Jack Ciattarelli and MAGA Republicans are going after Mikie's family is sick and desperate -- Jason graduated [and] served honorably as a Naval Officer. "The illegal disclosure of Mikie's unredacted personal military records, including her Social Security Number, and the unlawful dissemination of those records by the Ciattarelli campaign is a disgrace and must be investigated."
Multiple midshipmen acquired and shared answers to a Dec. 14, 1992, exam for Electrical Engineering 311, a mandatory class for all non-engineering majors. The test was administered to 663 students, according to the lawsuit that involved Hedberg. In a 2002 episode of CBS News' "48 Hours" that reported on the scandal, one of the students involved estimated that "probably 80% of the people who took that test had knowledge and had seen it the night before." ...
After graduating, Hedberg became a Navy intelligence officer and Sherrill a Navy pilot. The two have four children together.
Do you smell that? It smells like the New Jersey Democrats are cooking up another Torricelli Option. If you don't remember that-- back around 2006, Senator Robert Torricelli's fathomless corruption got exposed a month before the election. So the Democrat New Jersey Supreme Court decided that it was now allowed for a political party to replace its candidate with just a couple of weeks before an election. My internet is going down more often than Kamala Harris at a Democrat Mayor's convention so I might be a little off today. #MyToasterIsStillLoyal Update: As a Congressman, "Mikie" is allowed to recommend five New Jerseyans for slots at the Military academies. Two of the people she nominated are... surprise, her own grifter children. Her griftlings, let's call them.

Via Soothsayer, this is what I voted for.
Reuters thinks this is very very sad and that foreign dictators should be allowed to call for US troops to insurrect against the legitimately-elected president.LOL, "cracking down on pro-Palestinian voices." Once again, they mean violence. Their violence is their voice, doncha know.
The United States said it would revoke Colombian President Gustavo Petro's visa after he took to New York's streets on Friday in a pro-Palestinian demonstration and urged U.S. soldiers to disobey President Donald Trump's orders. "We will revoke Petro's visa due to his reckless and incendiary actions," the State Department posted on X. Petro, addressing a crowd of pro-Palestinian protesters outside the U.N. headquarters in Manhattan, called for a global armed force with the priority to liberate Palestinians, adding, "This force has to be bigger than that of the United States." "That's why from here, from New York, I ask all the soldiers of the army of the United States not to point their guns at people. Disobey the orders of Trump. Obey the orders of humanity," Petro said in Spanish. Reuters could not immediately confirm whether Petro was still in New York. His office and Colombia's foreign ministry did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The Trump administration has been cracking down on pro-Palestinian voices while countries including France, Britain, Australia and Canada have recognized a Palestinian state - moves that have angered Israel and its ally the U.S.
Petro, Colombia's first leftist president and a vocal opponent of Israel's war in Gaza, hit out at Trump in his speech to the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday, saying the U.S. leader was "complicit in genocide" in Gaza and calling for "criminal proceedings" over U.S. missile attacks on suspected drug-running boats in Caribbean waters.

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles ("PHEVs") may be the most preposterous product that was developed during the EV bubble and hype. They are a solution in search of a problem. (Plug-in hybrids are entirely different than traditional Prius-style hybrids, which are gasoline-powered vehicles that use regenerative braking to generate supplemental electricity for propulsion, but which cannot be externally charged like PHEVs.)
The argument for PHEVs is that they "solve" the range problem of pure battery electric vehicles ("BEVs") by having both a standard internal combustion engine ("ICE") and also a lithium-battery electric drivetrain, allowing them to be charged via a cord. But with two entirely separate engines under the hood, PHEVs have more ways to fail and a whole lot of extra weight, making them poor-performing alternatives to either pure ICE or pure electric cars. They also add a gasoline bomb to a potential lithium runaway thermal fire. Of course, the obvious solution to the range limitations of a BEV is not to buy one, and to buy a gasoline-powered ICE vehicle instead. To be fair, PHEVs do solve one problem. They allow people who want to identify as EV-drivers, but who really need (and prefer) ICE cars, to be able to pat themselves on the back for buying a chargeable electric vehicle. The only problem is that they just aren’t charging their PHEVs. Virtually no one who buys a plug-in hybrid EV is actually plugging it in! “Basically No One Plugs in Their Plug-In Hybrids; Toyota Thinks It Has the Solution” [Motor Trend – 9/18/2025] This Motor Trend article states that not plugging-in ”defeats the purpose of a PHEV.”After all, if you're not charging your PHEV, you're basically driving a regular hybrid with hundreds of extra pounds of electronics and other gear on board. That's more inefficient and defeats the purpose of a PHEV.That’s not the case. As I just mentioned, the purpose of buying a plug-in hybrid is for the self-satisfaction of owning a chargeable vehicle without the hassle of ever actually charging it. So Toyota is working to get people to actually plug in their PHEVs by developing apps, games, and notification protocols to remind people to plug their car into the wall.
To achieve these increases, the app delivered just-in-time reminders such as push notifications that were said to be 50 percent more effective than generic prompts. It also applied positive reinforcement in the form of messages that rewarded streaks, delivered encouragement, and summarized their charging habits. As if there weren’t already enough reasons not to buy a PHEV, a car that constantly nags me with electronic reminders and push notifications sounds like pure torture. Perhaps Toyota can name one of its hectoring plug-in hybrids the “Toyota AWFL.”
