After a brutal January, it looks like we're heading for an early spring. The daffodil above opened yesterday, unscathed by the 13? freeze Saturday morning. This is the second-earliest daffodil I've seen in Kansas. (The earliest bloomed February 17 fifteen years ago.) The forecast for the rest of the month looks like late March or early April. The weather may well double-cross me in March (it occasionally happens that the heaviest snow of a winter falls on March 20), but it's probably time to clean up the garden and get it ready for this year's experiments.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- We may never know what exactly happened in the final negotiations of California's controversial fast food minimum wage law because the groups involved signed non-disclosure agreements, multiple sources on all sides of the issue have confirmed to KCRA 3. That law, which takes effect on April 1, has been at the center of intense scrutiny as Gov. Gavin Newsom faces allegations that he pushed for a special exemption in the law for bakeries to help benefit one of his billionaire donors who is also a Panera franchisee, Greg Flynn. Newsom has said the claim is absurd, and the franchisee said he never asked for special treatment. The reporter here did some real work, and it's a fairly detailed piece. At the end:

Iger is feeling the pressure from Nelson Peltz, Jay Rasulo, and Trump buddy Ike Perlmutter.
Iger pushes back against the idea that there is "Marvel fatigue" keeping people from watching Disney's crap movies. But, to make that case, he's forced to admit the real problem is that Disney has been making a lot of crap movies and TV shows, and that's what people are fatigued about.Last month, She-Hulk "star" Tatiana Maslowski (that's my best guess, I'm not looking this no-name up) confirmed that Disney had shelved any second season to the terrible, terrible show. I wonder now if she had been asked to put this information out there in a soft, ripple-free sort of way. Oh by the way, she made the nonsensical claim that the first season had spent all the money budgeted for a second season so that's why the series had been cancelled. Sure. Sure, it was just about spending next year's money this year, and not about She-Hulk being a terrible, terrible show that attacked the main audience for Marvel content.
Disney CEO Bob Iger is pursuing a major overhaul of the company's film output. In the midst of something of a strike-induced box office drought and after a challenging year for Disney's film slate, the executive said Tuesday that "we're doing a lot" to turn around Disney's feature film business, which "hit on hard times that needed addressing." Iger, speaking at a conference hosted by Morgan Stanley in San Francisco on Tuesday, was pressed about what he is doing to turn the film business around. "You have to kill things you no longer believe in, and that's not easy in this business, because either you've gotten started, you have some sunk costs, or it's a relationship with either your employees or with the creative community," Iger said. "It's not an easy thing, but you got to make those tough calls. We've actually made those tough calls. We've not been that public about it, but we've killed a few projects already that we just didn't feel were strong enough."
... "A lot of people think it's audience fatigue, it's not audience fatigue. They want great films. And if you build it great, they will come and there are countless examples of that. Some are ours and some are others'. Oppenheimer is a perfect example of that. Just a fantastic film," Iger said. ... "Not only do you look at the films you're making, you you look at every part of that process, who the directors are, who's being cast, reading scripts, I personally watch films three to five times with the team and just create a culture of excellence and respect, which is really important with the creative community," he added. "And again, the track record speaks for itself."He watches movies, after they've already been shot and edited into a coherent form, "three to five times," and he's saying that is the way he guarantees excellence? He watches movies "three to five times." Only in Hollywood could this ever be put forward as workin' hard. Disney+, which is a failure on par with Brian Stelter, continues losing subscribers. There was another huge wave of cancellations in the UK. From Newsweek:
John Nolte adds:
The embattled company looks to be dealing with a potential public relations nightmare in the United Kingdom where the cost of an annual Disney+ subscription is giving some subscribers sticker shock followed by out right cancellations: The X user (formerly Twitter) @mellyfratelli, who lives in the United Kingdom, shared a screenshot of an email she received from Disney. It said from March 30, 2024, her premium subscription cost would increase to $139.50 (L109.90) a year. She also shared a screenshot of her bank statement; it showed that, in 2020, she had paid $63.45 (L49.99) for the Disney+ annual premium subscription. In 2021, she spent $76.15 (L59.99), and in 2022, it cost her $101.40 (L79.90). "Goodbye Disney+, you must be crazy x," she captioned her post, which went viral. At the time of writing, it had been viewed more than 4.3 million times.
Another xweeter wrote, "Disney Plus more than doubling in price over 4 years is absolutely wild... [I]f only the caliber of content being released on the platform made the price seem worthwhile." If only... This, of course, comes after a disastrous year at the box office for Disney on top of losing 1.3 million subscribers. You gotta love it. ,,,, Keep canceling Disney+, America. Do it for the children.Bob Iger is desperate to show that Disney Minus is profitable. It's actually losing billions of dollars, but to hold off Nelson Peltz's challenges, he has to claim it's turning a profit. A guy who calls himself "Lew Wasserman's Ghost" previewed the accounting tricks that Bob Iger will use to make Disney Minus seem like a good investment: they will take some of the horrible projects they've developed for Disney Minus and release these crap TV shows in an edited form as "movies" in theaters, where they will be laughed at before bombing. But the point isn't to make money in theaters -- it's to remove the costs of making them from Disney Minus's ledger and put those costs on Disney's movie studios budget. By shifting the costs of these terrible, wreteched TV shows from the Disney Minus vertical to another vertical, Iger will reduce the costs of Disney Minus -- on paper, anyway -- and make Disney Minus closer to profitable. On paper, again. This is all a lie and a scam but he needs this lie to reassure investors. And what else will these woke corporations have to do to show a profit, even if only a paper one? Well, they'll have to fire a lot of their bloated, untalented, charity-hire staff. And how will they do that? They'll replace these poor performers with the also-poor-performing, but very cheap, AI option. A marketing professor says that corporations will increasingly use AI to slash their workforces. But he says they would have had to cut these bad employees anyway. They'll just use AI as "corporate Ozempic" to shed deadweight.
At Disney, they'll soon be firing all those untalented Tumblr "artists" they hired for their animation department. Animation will be heavily, heavily shifted to AI. Human beings will still draw the "key frames," but humans will be replaced as far as creating the interpolations, the small frame-by-frame changes to get from one key frame to the next. All of the crap animators Disney hired in the past couple of years will be back to annoying people on Tumblr soon enough. Finally, Warner Bros. has finally shut down woke anime studio Rooster Teeth.
Lots of big tech companies are slimming down and cutting their workforces. This corporate trimming of the fat has become common in the tech sector in the last couple years. Well-known marketing professor and media impresario Scott Galloway has a theory as to what's behind the layoffs: AI. The catch is many executives are hesitant to admit they're laying off employees with the intent of replacing their jobs with artificial intelligence. Galloway likens the move to the open secret many people use to lose weight themselves, calling AI "corporate Ozempic." "My thesis is that firms (notably tech companies) have also discovered a weight loss drug and are also being coy about it," Galloway writes on his blog No Malice, No Mercy. "Recent financial news features two stories: layoffs and record profits. These are related." A spate of tech companies have had layoffs in recent months. Meta, a Silicon Valley stalwart, has laid off around 20,000 employees since November 2022. Apple might be cutting hundreds of employees from its self-driving car unit after killing its self-driving car project. Salesforce laid off about 700 employees at the beginning of the year after cutting more than 7,000 people in 2023. In January, across two rounds of layoffs that hit its ad sales and hardware teams, Alphabet laid off over 1,000 employees after handing out 12,000 pink slips in 2022. All this comes, Galloway notes, as the tech industry has seen stellar business results. Some of them even delivered historic results: Meta announced a record $40.1 billion in revenue in the fourth quarter of 2023, while tripling net income compared to the same period the year before. The discrepancy points to a strategic shift rather than a need to right size an ailing company, according to Galloway. "I believe AI is playing a larger role in layoffs than CEOs are willing to admit," Galloway writes in the post. "CEOs are being coy about this, at least in public, because there's a sense of fear surrounding the brave new world of AI." ... Galloway predicts over the next year, executives will be open about the fact they're replacing people with AI as its usage in the workplace becomes more common. When that does happen, "pundits will clutch their pearls for a hot minute until the stock explodes, and the secret hiding in plain sight will be visible to everyone: [AI is] corporate Ozempic. It's not about less bread, but less craving for bread. Read: hiring people," Galloway writes.
S a D, B's.
Back in August 2020, Rooster Teeth loudly broadcasts on Twitter, "This is your regular reminder that we happily and proudly stand for social justice. We have no tolerance for racism, sexism, or harassment of any kind." The company added, "If you're not with us -- this isn't an airport, no need to announce your departure." A little less than four years since that post, Rooster Teeth has been shut down. Variety's Todd Spangler reports, "Rooster Teeth is biting the dust after more than two decades." He adds, "Parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, after unsuccessful attempts to sell the unprofitable fandom, gaming and comedy entertainment division is shutting down Rooster Teeth's operations."

Former Rep. Liz Cheney's January 6 Committee suppressed evidence that President Donald Trump pushed for 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the nation's capital, a previously hidden transcript obtained by The Federalist shows. Cheney and her committee falsely claimed they had "no evidence" to support Trump officials' claims the White House had communicated its desire for 10,000 National Guard troops. In fact, an early transcribed interview conducted by the committee included precisely that evidence from a key source. The interview, which Cheney attended and personally participated in, was suppressed from public release until now. Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato's first transcribed interview with the committee was conducted on January 28, 2022. In it, he told Cheney and her investigators that he overheard White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows push Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser to request as many National Guard troops as she needed to protect the city. He also testified President Trump had suggested 10,000 would be needed to keep the peace at the public rallies and protests scheduled for January 6, 2021. Ornato also described White House frustration with Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller's slow deployment of assistance on the afternoon of January 6, 2021. Not only did the committee not accurately characterize the interview, they suppressed the transcript from public review. On top of that, committee allies began publishing critical stories and even conspiracy theories about Ornato ahead of follow-up interviews with him. Ornato was a career Secret Service official who had been detailed to the security position in the White House.More at the link. The leftwing outlet The Intercept just revealed that the Deep State's key entrapment agent for the fake Whitmer Kidnapping Plot began telling FBI agents that the case was, essentially, illegal entrapment. Because the FBI's paid informant revealed that he, the paid agent provocateur, was the mastermind behind the fake kidnapping plot. He'd invented it, he'd arranged it. So none of the participants in the fake plot could be held liable for what the FBI itself had organized. The FBI was the mastermind behind the plot. The FBI agents told him to shut up about that and say the lines written for him.
month before the 2020 presidential election, the Justice Department announced that the FBI had foiled a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, whose pandemic lockdown measures drew harsh criticism from President Donald Trump and his supporters. The alleged plot coincided with growing concern about far-right political violence in America. But the FBI quickly realized it had a problem: A key informant in the case, a career snitch with a long rap sheet, had helped to orchestrate the kidnapping plot. During the undercover sting, the FBI ignored crimes that the informant, Stephen Robeson, appeared to have committed, including fraud and illegal possession of a sniper rifle. The Whitmer kidnapping case followed a pattern familiar from hundreds of previous FBI counterterrorism stings that have targeted Muslims in the post-9/11 era. Those cases too raised questions about whether the crimes could have happened at all without the prodding of undercover agents and informants. For the FBI, the stakes in the Whitmer case were high. If defense lawyers learned of Robeson's role in the kidnapping plot, the FBI agents feared, they'd be accused of entrapment. The collapse of the case, built over nearly a year using as many as a dozen informants, two undercover agents, and bureau field offices in at least four states, would have been a public relations coup for right-wing politicians and news media. Both groups have used the problematic investigation as evidence that the Justice Department has been "weaponized" against conservatives -- despite a decadeslong public record proving the opposite -- and as fuel for conspiracy theories that the January 6 Capitol riot was engineered by the FBI. But the truth about the Whitmer kidnapping case is far more complicated. This story is based on thousands of pages of internal FBI reports and more than 250 hours of undercover recordings obtained by The Intercept. The secret files offer an extraordinary view inside a high-profile domestic terrorism investigation, revealing in stark relief how federal agents have turned the war on terror inward, using informant-led stings to chase after potential domestic extremists just as the bureau spent the previous two decades setting up entrapment stings that targeted Muslims in supposed Islamist extremist plots. The files also suggest that federal agents have become reckless, turning a blind eye to public safety risks that, if addressed, could disrupt the government's cases. ...More at the link. The FBI organized and plotted "political violence" all through the run-up to the 2020 election. Gee why would a law enforcement agency do that? Related: Here's a pro-Trump ad. I don't know if Trump has anything to do with it. I doubt it. I don't think he's allowed to coordinate with third-party groups.
Federal agents paid Robeson nearly $20,000 to participate in a conspiracy that evolved into a loose plot to kidnap the governor of Michigan, according to the documents. But FBI agents knew that two other informants and some of the defendants in the Whitmer case believed that Robeson was the plot's true architect. So on December 10, 2020, agents called Robeson into the FBI's office in Milwaukee in an apparent attempt to silence him. In an extraordinary five-hour conversation, which FBI agents recorded, one of Robeson's handlers told him: "A saying we have in my office is, 'Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story,' right?" Despite federal and state trials involving the kidnapping plot, this recording -- which goes to the heart of questions about whether the FBI entrapped the would-be kidnappers -- was never allowed into evidence.

A straight white man had written numerous scripts for the CBS show "SEAL Team" as a freelancer, including a season three finale (which would suggest he's a good writer, because the anchor episode is important).
He was praised by the show's producers for his talent. He applied for a job as part of the show's writers room. Despite the fact that he was obviously good at writing episodes for this show, the job was given to a black woman. Of course. He says he was told, explicitly, that he hadn't got the job because they only wanted to give jobs to blacks and other minorities. This is illegal; quotas are against the law, period. The law permits -- maybe -- giving some races or sexes an extra-special look or making special efforts to recruit people from those groups, but definite quotas have long been illegal. And corporations just don't care. They have put their HR departments in charge and allowed them to overrule their lawyers. They will be Made to Care, though.Literally ever black lesbian now has a job writing TV shows and comic books. As Ya Boi Zach says, even if black lesbians don't want these jobs, they force them to take them. Are you a black lesbian with one side of her head shaved? I'm sorry, you'll have to come with me. You've been assigned to write Wolverine. Come with me, I will show you to your work cubicle. No, I'm afraid you're not allowed to refuse, it's the law that every black lesbian with the side of her head shaved be assigned to write comics for Marvel. Now stop complaining, and start browsing the Wikipedia entry for Wolverine.
'SEAL Team' scriptwriter sues CBS for denying him a staff job because he 'did not check the right boxes' and hiring rookie 'black LGBTQ women' instead, says $500,000 DEI suit Brian Beneker couldn't get a staff job despite writing a well-liked season finale Ex-Trump admin official Stephen Miller slammed CBS for 'corporate bigotry'
By James Reinl, Social Affairs Correspondent, For Dailymail.Com A freelance writer for the hit show SEAL Team has sued CBS Studios for repeatedly denying him a staff job while instead hiring less-qualified black LGBTQ women and other 'diversity' recruits.
No you don't have to study it; just get a general vibe. Wolverine is anything you think it is.
Corporations are beginning to walk away from illegal DEI now that the lawsuits are coming.
Brian Beneker says the studio and parent firm Paramount owe him $500,000 in lost wages because they overlooked him, a straight, white man, in a push to get minorities on the team. It is the latest in a raft of lawsuits aimed at 'reverse racism' filed by America First Legal (AFL), a conservative action group headed by Stephen Miller, a former Trump administration advisor. 'CBS appears to have carried out an egregious scheme of flagrant discrimination against white and male employees in direct violation of federal civil rights law,' Miller said. Miller slammed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) targets as 'corporate bigotry' and said the case would help 'excise the poison of race discrimination from American workplaces.' ... As a freelancer, he co-wrote scripts for four episodes of the show, including its season three finale 'No Choice in Duty.' He was praised for the quality of his work, court papers show. Beneker asked several times for a staff writing job, but was told there was no space, and he was 'next in line,' it is claimed. Still, CBS instead hired other writers in an apparent push to diversify the team. They were all from minorities -- black writers, women, including a lesbian, who often had no relevant experience or writing credits.
... Writers on prime-time shows were to be staffed '40 percent black, indigenous, and people of color' in the 2021-22 season and by half in the 2022-23 season, the case says. AFL says a race-based hiring target is 'not only immoral, but it is illegal under federal law.'
Goldman Sachs Group Inc. has made a surprising change to its "Possibilities Summit" for Black college students: It's opened the program to White students. At Bank of America Corp., certain internal programs that used to focus on women and minorities have been broadened to include everyone. And at Bank of New York Mellon Corp., executives are being urged to reconsider hard metrics for workforce diversity. Lose them, lawyers have advised.Yes, because they've always been illegal, and the death of the drug dealer and thug St. George Floyd did not repeal these laws.
White "resentments" -- not white people objecting to plainly-illegal racial discrimination. And it's just "accusations of reverse discrimination," despite the clear fact that these policies are explicit and explicitly illegal. So why the caveat? Because proponents of DEI say that "reverse discrimination" isn't real because it's impossible to invidiously discriminate against white people. Because white people aren't really people, and any discrimination against them is just Social Justice. Welcome to Rhodesia.
This is what diversity, equity and inclusion looks like on Wall Street today: anxious, fraught -- and changing fast. From C-suites down, American finance is quietly reassessing its promises to level the playing field. The growing conservative assault on DEI, coupled with pockets of resentment among White employees, have executives moving to head off accusations of reverse discrimination.
It's not just Wall Street. In recent weeks, Zoom Video Communications Inc. cut its internal DEI team amid broader layoffs and Tesla Inc. removed language about minority workers from a regulatory filing. The seemingly small changes -- lawyerly tweaks, executives call them -- are starting to add up to something big: the end of a watershed era for diversity in the US workplace, and the start of a new, uncertain one. "We're past the peak," said Subha Barry, former head of diversity at Merrill Lynch.Sorry, you don't get to turn white people into serfs because a drug dealer tried to pass a counterfeit 20 dollar bill and then died due to the massive bolus of drugs he swallowed plus his 40+ years of bad living. Even the woke oligarchs at Black Rock are getting nervous about their ESG agenda.
Wall Street has long skewed White and male, as it still does. Even an inkling that banks are retreating from DEI has some women and minorities questioning how real promises of change were in the first place. Publicly, executives insist they're as dedicated as ever. Goldman Sachs and other major US banks say they remain committed to attracting and promoting people from a range of backgrounds. Privately, however, many acknowledge that the high-profile campaign against DEI-- amplified by billionaires including Elon Musk and Bill Ackman -- threatens to set back what progress Wall Street has made. ... It's a remarkable turn. Less than four years ago, amid lofty talk of a "racial reckoning" and an "inflection point" in the wake of George Floyd's 2020 murder, America's CEOs were vowing to embrace inclusive hiring, promote minorities and narrow the gender pay gap.
More at Townhall.
After significant efforts to embrace and enforce woke ESG -- environmental, social and governance -- policies on American companies, behemoth asset manager BlackRock has finally admitted what conservatives have warned: adopting and prioritizing the radical aims of ESG poses a significant risk of adverse effects to its bottom line and legal footing. The revelation from BlackRock comes courtesy of a filing the company made with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Lamenting that -- as a direct result of scrutiny and warnings from conservatives -- "BlackRock faces increasing focus from regulators, officials, clients and other stakeholders regarding ESG matters," the company said in the filing that it is "subject to competing demands from different stakeholder groups with divergent views on ESG-related matters, including in countries in which BlackRock operates and invests, as well as in states and localities where BlackRock serves public sector clients." As Townhall has previously reported, state Republican officials have put BlackRock on notice and taken action to divest billions of dollars from BlackRock due to the company's prioritization of "de-carbonizing" the economy and forcing woke identity quotas for governing boards, among other inane leftist virtue signaling. BlackRock continues in its filing to complain that some "US states and state officials have adopted or proposed legislation or otherwise have taken official positions restricting or prohibiting state government entities from doing certain business with entities identified by the state as "boycotting" or "discriminating" against particular industries or considering ESG factors in their investment processes and proxy voting," soon "[o]ther states and localities may adopt similar legislation or other ESG-related laws and positions that adversely impact BlackRock's business." That is, conservatives -- led by groups such as Consumers' Research helmed by Will Hild and state attorneys general across the country -- are winning.

Plus: GAINZZZ

In 2021, the CDC prepared a warning about the vaccine causing myocarditis. But then they withheld it:
Evidence has purportedly been uncovered that the CDC knew during the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out that the vaccines were associated with an increase in potentially deadly heart muscle inflammation called myocarditis. Still, the agency allegedly swept that knowledge under the rug. The revelation stems from an internal email dated May 21, 2021, between CDC officials obtained by The Epoch Times. In the email titled " alert on myocarditis and mRNA vaccines," Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, the CDC's lead on Equity in COVID Data and Engagement, informed two other senior CDC officials that the alert was attached. However, The Epoch Times was unable to obtain the alert.A FOIA demand was submitted, seeking the report. Want to see what the CDC released?

A lot of Fridays I post a LibsofTikTok or a Week in Woke and it's all horrifying and depressing.
This Friday, I'm covering wokeness again, but with a more optimistic spin. On a recent episode of Triggernometry, the Critical Drinker expressed his belief that we have passed Peak Woke. He stressed this doesn't mean woke is over. If you think about a hill, and its peak, passing the peak doesn't mean you're back down at ground level. You can still be pretty high. It just means you've passed the highest point -- the peak of woke -- and are on the way back down to normalcy. Comics Matter (aka Ya Boi Zach) has been claiming that woke is on the run for a while. I didn't really believe him, but there was a major event in the comic book industry a few months ago that suggested that maybe woke is on its way out. The story: A Boston comic retailer complained that he could not sell a lot of the crap comics the industry was spamming out. (Obviously he is very sensitive to bad, unsaleable comics -- they murder the retailers who are tricked into buying them, but then cannot sell them for full price, or even for half price. Comic books are not returnable.) One major complaint he had was that the nitwit writers were not writing classic, very manly characters like Tony Stark or Steve Rogers in-character. Rather, they substitute their own femmy, Current Year concerns, phobias, and anxieties make man's men parrot their own Twitter freak-outs. The typical Cancel Police immediately attempted to cancel this man. They made fun of him for being, well, a comic book fan -- he was overweight, older, not-too-stylish, and a bit awkward. One obese comic book writer attacked him for being fat. A woke black comic book artist -- well, a low-level artist -- named Jerome Igle decided to brand him a racist, not based on anything he said (he did not mention race at all, nor did he allude to it), but based on the fact that he said this guy reminded him of a disgusting, dirty comic book shop owner he had known who was racist. See, this guy reminded him of someone else, and that guy (he claims) was racist, so: Q.E.D. Wow, Jerome -- good to see your many, many accusations of racism are built upon a firm foundation. The cancellation train was beginning to chug along and approaching top speed, when suddenly it ran into a problem: star comic book writer Mark Millar, writer of Kick-Ass, the Kingsmen, and a bunch of bestselling comics turned into movies and TV shows, stepped up and defended the comic shop owner, echoed his complaints about storied characters being written as if they were 25-year-old Twitter Addicts, and castigated people for attempting to cancel a man for merely offering his (unobjectionable) opinion. Suddenly the comic book "pros" who were attempting to cancel him fell into retreat. The obese comic book writer who'd made fun of the comic shop owner for being overweight now clarified he didn't mean to call him "fat" as an insult, no, not at all! He had merely called him fat to show that fat comic book nerds should stand in solidarity. One by one, the would-be cancellers made excuses and softened their objections. Then Millar coined a new term for then -- he called them "Cancel Pigs," which a pungent, memorable, and highly accurate term for these scumbags. That term, "Cancel Pigs," has now exploded in popularity and is the most popular way to refer to these miserable fascists. The episode demonstrated a few things. First, the actually-talented people working for corporations had the power to stop this endless purging by the no-talents. At any time, they could have stood up and said, "Enough." But they were too afraid to do so. The moment Millar stood up, the Cancel Pigs backed down. Second, it showed that these bloodthirsty savages are all cowards. They were eager to cancel the shopkeeper when they thought his would be an easy scalp to collect, and that their allies would applaud them and their enemies cowed into silent acceptance. The moment they got a little pushback, they all scurried like cockroaches when the kitchen light comes on. That might have been a sign that wokeness had been allowed to go as far as it would be allowed to go. There are other signs since then: Doritos Spain proudly announced they had their own trans influencer -- and boy does that make me want to put their products in my mouth!!! And then they proudly fired the transfluencer, for... talking about wanting to put things... I can't even say.Doritos Spain terminated their relationship with transgender influencer Iván González Ranedo, who goes by the stage name Samantha Hudson, after the company came under intense backlash for posting a video on Instagram featuring Hudson. A spokesperson for Doritos Spain confirmed to Rolling Stone magazine that a short promo called "Crunch Talks" was posted on Sunday and then removed on Monday. It emphasized that the video was not part of a larger brand ambassadorship campaign. The spokesperson also revealed that Hudson had been terminated from the company due to making controversial comments in the past. "We have ended the relationship and stopped all related campaign activity due to the comments," the spokesperson said. "We strongly condemn words or actions that promote violence or sexism of any kind." Hudson has made controversial statements on capitalism, the family and even child sexual abuse in the past. Among other controversial alleged comments and posts that have resurfaced online, Hudson endorsed "the abolition of ... the traditional monogamous nuclear family," per the Daily Mail. "As a teen, she has also tweeted about wanting to do 'thuggish things' to a minor," the outlet reported, in this case a 12-year-old girl. That is highly euphemized:

End WokenessAh, yes: The VA official who demanded that the famous kiss in celebration of the end of WWII must be removed from a museum, because this iconic piece of Americana did not uphold our Current Year values about getting verbal consent for everything. By the way, Snopes claimed that this was a false story, despite the memo being real. They take the dishonest position that because the VA backed down under intense public pressure, that retroactively changes the past and makes the memo non-existent for all practical purposes. LibsofTikTok is also celebrating her own wins in the culture war:
@EndWokeness In the past few hours: -Doritos just FIRED their new trans brand ambassador for pedophiIia tweets -VP and D.E.I Chief of Johns Hopkins just RESIGNED over her "privilege hit list" -Biden's VA was forced to RESCIND the memorandum banning the V-J kiss All of these stories were broken by End Wokeness before any news outlets
Libs of TikTokSee additional wins here, and here. Obviously, there is much left to do. A woman in Oregon has been convicted n a "hate crime" charge for "misgendering" -- actually, correctly gendering -- a transgender and telling him to get out of the ladies' room.
@libsoftiktok In just the past day Libs of TikTok has had a tremendous impact! The Senate changed a bill and removed funding for an LGBTQ center which holds s*x parties after LoTT exposed it. Texas drag queen teacher resigned after LoTT exposed him. The US Army updated their training slides which said racism is engrained in America after LoTT exposed it. BREAKING Ngo report: A woman has been convicted by a Portland, Ore. jury of criminal harassment and a hate crime after she misgendered and confronted a trans person using the women's bathroom. Cassandra McIntyre told Riis Larsen (pictured below), a far-left trans activist formerly known as Ronald A. Larsen, that they're a man and to "get out" after the male allegedly shoved another person to cut in line for the women's toilet. The jury saw video of McIntyre lightly shoving Larsen during the confrontation. She was sentenced to two years probation plus community service--longer than what convicted violent BLM-Antifa rioters and arsonists received in Multnomah County. Larsen is a self-identified Marxist "queer demi-binary trans woman" who posts online often about transphobia.
And of course J.K. Rowling was just reported to the police for the "crime" of "misgendering" -- again, this means correctly gender -- a biological made "transgender."
On Sunday, author JK Rowling offered a lengthy response to an argument she saw on X. The argument was basically saying there was no point in trying to keep trans women out of women's spaces because they would just go in anyway.Rowling responded to this argument by saying that the law against murder doesn't stop all murders, but that doesn't mean we rush to repeal the law against murder.
J.K. RowlingSomeone thought they could score a big point on J.K. Rowling by showing a video of a biological male pretending to be a woman, a journalist styling himself "India" Willoughby. Surely, this idiot said, surely you don't think that this "woman" should use the men's room! J.K. Rowling said Yeah, that guy too.
@jk_rowling We don't leave our doors and windows wide open when we go out because 'thieves will find a way in, anyway.' Strangely, I've never heard anyone say 'let's stop background checking teachers, because paedophiles will always find a way to interfere with kids.'
When men - all men, however they identify - are banned from women's spaces, those who disregard the ban can be challenged, inside the space and out. They mark themselves out as suspicious by breaking a rule decent men respect. Nobody claims the rule has successfully kept out every single man who wants to commit voyeurism or sexual assault. What we're saying is that allowing males into female only spaces on the basis of their claim to be a women removes an obstacle that has hitherto been *proven* to increase women and girls' safety. 88% of sexual crimes committed in changing/locker rooms happen in those that are unisex. Why? Because malign men don't have to justify their presence near unclothed women and girls. They can't be challenged. They don't stand out. This is obvious to all but the terminally naive. It is too seldom noted that every single man arguing for the removal of single sex spaces is arguing for his *own* right to enter those spaces. I know from experience that they feign outrage when this point is put to them, gibbering that they're just being good, virtuous progressives who're standing up for trans women, that they *personally* won't be availing themselves of the new opportunities afforded them. The fact remains that instead of calling out male violence against trans women, and working to make male spaces safer, these men have thrown their energy into the fight to remove women's and girls' rights to safety, privacy and dignity. And if anyone genuinely believes none of these enthusiastic heterosexual, non-trans-identified male 'allies' aren't personally enthralled by the idea of women and girls losing basic protections, I have several bridges to sell you.

You all need to be fired. Fired, and your teaching credentials cancelled. By the way, the schools have taken down all the pictures of their staff. Both schools involved in this literally gag-inducing degeneracy are of course fighting the Superintendent's power to demand that inappropriate books be removed from schools:
On Wednesday, after being tipped by multiple viewers, FOX25 reported there were more videos of similar toe-sucking events in the Edmond Public School district. ... Edmond Public Schools issued an unapologetic statement to Fox25:
We are proud of our students for the tireless work and immense effort they put into each of our philanthropy weeks. Already this school year, our North and Santa Fe students have raised more than $416,000 for local non-profits with Swine Week at Memorial still to come. EPS school administrators, just like our surrounding districts, work with student council sponsors to make these weeks as impactful as possible. Through their efforts over many months, metro area high school students learn countless life lessons on how to make a positive difference in their community.
Both schools have recently butt heads with Oklahoma's conservative state superintendent over school library books. On February 20, the Edmonds School District petitioned the Oklahoma Supreme Court to determine if Walters' office has the authority to lower a school district's accreditation if the school refuses to pull certain library books based on "subjective opinions of high school library books." The petition came after the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) ordered Edmond Public Schools to remove what it deemed age-inappropriate books from its elementary school libraries. OSDE threatened to downgrade the district's accreditation if it did not remove the two books in question--"The Kite Runner" and "The Glass Castle" -- from elementary school shelves. The district stated that the State Board of Education 'does not have the power to enact the rule it is attempting to enforce,' and that the Oklahoma Attorney General advised the State Board of Education that said rules would be 'unenforceable' before they were enacted. The neighboring Deer Creek School District issued a statement on February 21 in support of Edmond Public School's decision to petition the Oklahoma Supreme Court. The dares the faculty allowed including letting other students spit in your mouth.

The Bat-signal went out early and has come out strong, and if Biden wasn't "feisty," it was "fiery." How do we know it was a Bat-signal? Axios trotted it out before the speech, in an exclusive initially titled "Biden's Feisty Reset" in an e-mail sent around yesterday. Axios later changed it to "Biden plans feisty economic reset." This is what tipped me off for my conversation with Adam, and the results didn't disappoint, so to speak: Axios after the speech: "President Biden eased Democrats' concerns about his age with a feisty and commanding State of the Union address Thursday night." NY Times: In-Your-Face Biden Takes on Trump and His Own Doubters NYT's lead: "This was not Old Man Joe. This was Forceful Joe. This was Angry Joe. This was Loud Joe. This was Game-On Joe." WaPo front page: Fiery Biden takes on GOP, makes case for second term WaPo story headline: Biden delivers State of the Union with fiery political tone WaPo story lead: "President Biden delivered a fiery State of the Union address Thursday night..." WaPo video headline (I kid you not): "Biden's feistiest State of the Union exchanges" (WaPo really commits to the bit!) Punchbowl: A feisty Biden blasts GOP foes Also Punchbowl: "If you are a casual political observer, you tuned into the State of the Union Thursday night and saw a feisty President Joe Biden..." It's a twofer! Reuters: Biden takes on Trump and Republicans in fiery State of the Union speech Semafor: "President Biden delivered a fiery stemwinder against Donald Trump in a State of the Union speech that served as a general election preview." Associated Press: Biden uses feisty State of the Union to contrast with Trump, sell voters on a second termMore at the link. I mentioned this last night, but I'll repeat it, as this is going to be my position throughout the whole election: In most elections, we want the absolutely worst news/worst performance for the opponent. But here, we do not want the absolutely worst news or worst performance for Joe Biden. Because as his performance falls to the worst possible levels, the odds that he is forced out of the race and replaced by someone new increases to nearly 100%. I want Biden to do badly -- but not so badly that the whole corrupt Democrat Party decides that it's time to put Pop-Pop in a home. So I'm not angry at the media boosting Biden. They're actually my allies in this. We need Biden boosted just enough that he remains, in the eyes of the media that actually controls the Democrat Party, nearly, arguably, viable. I'm -- we're -- in the weird position of having to root for Biden here and there. We can't let this rapist fall below 30% approval. So I don't fear the temporary 4-7% job approval bump the media will engineer for Biden. I'm counting on it. Katie Britt gave her own feisty, fiery rebuttal, stating that the American dream has become a nightmare under President Oops I Crapped My Pants.
Worth noting: A look at the URL shows that the AP initially used "fiery" in its headline and replaced it with "feisty" at some point.

Harvard University is considering the sale of as much as $1.65 billion of bonds, marking the latest Ivy League school to sell debt this year, and potentially providing a sign of how it’s financially faring after months of turmoil over allegations of antisemitism on campus. Some of its most prominent benefactors have signaled they won’t commit more money to the school and it faces costly lawsuits and possible government actions that could take away financial support. With interest rates the highest they’ve been in decades, this is obviously not the best time to be issuing new debt. The Harvard Crimson noted last week that this will put Harvard’s debt at almost $8 billion, which is higher than any time in recent history, including during the 2008 financial crisis.

Vance told Breitbart News that he does not want to “legitimize” all the lies Biden will tell in the speech with his attendance. “This state of the union is a farce thanks to Joe Biden’s disgraceful job performance,” Vance told Breitbart News. “Tonight, he’s going to stand before the American people and lie about the state of our economy, the security of our borders, and the safety of our citizens. I’m not interested in legitimizing the president’s lies about the destruction his policies have caused for this country.” Vance is widely considered to be a possible running mate for Trump in 2024, and his decision to not attend the presidential address in the U.S. House chamber is significant because he’s siding with the millions of Americans who say they do not intend to interrupt their evening to watch Biden speak. A wide majority of Americans, 63 percent, said according to the latest Economist/YouGov survey they will not watch the speech. So, while official Washington and the establishment media are consumed with Biden’s likely ability to read from a teleprompter for about an hour, most Americans like Vance could care less what the aides who wrote the speech that Biden is going to read wanted him to say."The article mentions another consolation, in that essentially no one was interested in watching a sundowning, criminal pervert lie to them about not only how wonderful their lives are because of him but that they should kiss his ass in Macy's window because of it. Too bad Macy's is set to close about 150 of its stores, about 30% of them, because of how wonderful Biden made the economy, but that's neither here nor there, ingrates! I'm very curious to see how many people instead tuned in to Donald Trump's live-blogging of President Debasement from the DE Basement. In any case, it's a shame that the entire GOP didn't follow J.D. Vance's lead and not show up. But, the illusion that "our flag was still there" and America still functions as it always had or how we had imagined it in the pre-Trump era, and more to the point, the GOP pretending as much because protecting the grift is their mission, is what they do. There is no way that the Democrat propaganda complex can spin this as a success when two things from the get go show it was an abject disaster and fiasco for them: Before even arriving, Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants had to endure this:
A cadre of anti-Israel protesters joined together to block President Joe Biden’s motorcade while on his way to the State of the Union Address on Thursday night. “Shame!” the protesters chanted. Others were heard shouting, “Genocide Joe,” while others called him a “Criminal.” Since the October 7 massacre in Israel last year at the hands of the terrorist organization Hamas, anti-Israel protesters have blocked parade routes, surrounded the White House, and delayed the president from giving a speech at an event in New York. In November of last year, the White House denounced those calling Biden “Genocide Joe.” Speaking with New York Post reporter Steve Nelson, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby called the nickname “Genocide Joe” inappropriate while standing on the side of free speech. “We’re not worried about nicknames and bumper stickers. I mean, it’s First Amendment free speech. The president’s focused on … making sure that we can continue to support Israel as they fight a terrible terrorist group, Hamas,” Kirby said. It's bad enough that the Muslims are a major problem electorally for Biden in places like Minnesota and especially Michigan, Dao-Min Yen shenanigans notwithstanding. But a major chunk of the Maoists in the Democrat base are equally pissed that he's not helping Hamas finish off the Yids once and for all. More on that in a moment. Meanwhile, despite the chemical cocktail of Adderall, adrenaline, cholinesterase inhibitors, Pervitin (Hitler's favorite, but renamed for Joe as "pervert-in") and Kaopectate, Biden was sundowning all over the place. And at the worst possible point in his rant: the border:
During his speech, as he discussed an immigration and the bipartisan border bill that failed to make it out of the Senate earlier this year, Biden held up the pin and invoked Riley’s name, but he appeared to mispronounce it. “Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal. That’s right. But how many of the thousands of people are being killed by illegals.” Biden said.Lincoln Riley. What a fucking scumbag. Anyway, notice how Biden tries to dismiss the crisis on the border that he created, vis a vis the obvious death toll/crime wave from illegal alien criminals while he and his minions at the same time are trying to blame Trump for the same crime wave they said in the previous breath is exaggerated. Way to be on top of the messaging, geniuses! In any case, as bad as his Nuremberg Rally in front of Independence Hall and that horrendous shit-show at Valley Forge were, this horror show tops them all.
Usually presidents use the podium to make promises and take credit for past accomplishments, but there’s not much of that here and so Biden began his speech name-dropping presidents who people liked better than him (a long list) and threatening and berating Republicans. A few breaths after implicitly comparing himself to FDR during WWII, Biden then compared himself to Lincoln during the Civil War (“not since President Lincoln and the Civil War have freedom and democracy been under assault here at home as they are today”And given the situation in Israel as well as the torrent of in-your-face Jew-hatred from the Democrat Party, Biden might very well pour radioactive gasoline on the fire that he and the imbecile eggheads at Foggy Bottom helped start.and then President Reagan before launching an attack on President Trump. The State of the Union isn’t a place to attack opposing candidates. Bush didn’t take potshots at Kerry in his State of the Union speech and even Obama didn’t mention Romney in his. And yet Biden attacked Trump a few minutes into his. And then did it again. And again. But this was not a State of the Union address, it was a fascistic campaign rally of the kind that he had been giving for years, most disturbingly while flanked by Marines at Independence Hall before the 2022 midterms, declaring war on Trump, Republicans and all political opponents. . . . . . Biden’s State of the Union rant would have been more ominous if it also hadn’t been pathetic. The speechwriters reached (as they always do at these events) for the grandiose, but came off as bellicose, and in Biden’s mouth, even the bellicose became the quavering rattlings of an angry old man who had spent too much time reading Stephen Ambrose and listening to NPR. Much of Biden’s address had to be reconstructed from the transcript because it was indecipherable. His hands and lips shaking, Biden spoke of strength, but showed only weakness, invoked historical figures only to show how unworthy he was of them. The threats and attacks on Republicans gave way to absurd boasts. And while presidents always claim credit for more than they accomplished, Biden’s could only occasion eye rolling. Biden claimed that “our economy is the envy of the world”, that inflation “is the lowest in the world”, that there is “historic job growth”, and that unemployment is “at 50-year lows”. Why didn’t Biden begin by bragging about these incredible accomplishments? Why bury them toward the middle of his speech? Because not only are they lies, but no one believes them. . . . . . Biden violated the most elementary State of the Union decorum. He gave a speech that he should not have been allowed to deliver. And that should have been shut down during. Presidents deliver these addresses as guests of Congress. As a guest, Biden insulted his hosts, soiled the drapes and tried to wrap his partisan hatefest in name dropping and the flag. At the conclusion, Biden laid out a clash “for the soul of our nation” between “those who want to pull America back to the past” (conservatives) “and those who want to move America into the future” (leftists) while unintentionally giving everyone a taste of what that future looks like. The future looks like a senile president arriving at a State of the Union to launch vitriolic attacks on the opposition, wrecking political norms, implying that a new civil war is at hand, threatening the Supreme Court and defining all opposition as a dangerous form of treason. Americans have seen the future and polls show they don’t like it very much.
In case you missed the previous most stupid idea vomited forth by the Biden White House, it's an airlift of food to unoccupied parts of the Gaza Strip. It's a humanitarian mission, you see — except that it only appears that way to people who literally know nothing about warfare, particularly siege warfare. As trusted milblogger CDR Salamander reminded his readers when the news broke a few days ago, "For all of human history, when a city is under siege the garrison eats, drinks, and receives medical care and shelter first. Any aid that comes in prolongs the siege and produces more death and misery." Most of the death and misery is enjoyed, as it were, by the civilians trapped in the besieged city. But some of the death and misery is visited upon the troops of the siege army — in this case, the men and women of the Israeli Defense Force. Sal put it too nicely for my tastes. The more brutal version of the truth is that Hamas wants more Gazans to die because dead Gazans make good Hamas propaganda. Hamas fighters will balloon up to 350 pounds apiece before any civilians get so much as a crumb. That's why I told readers yesterday that if Biden wants a quick end to the fighting, he should send more bullets to Israel and not a single meal to Gaza.Who had American boots on the ground in Gaza? To defend Hamas?! Desperate times call for desperate measures. And if Biden's performance last night didn't underscore the fact that he and his puppet masters are so desperate that Biden's nervous incontinence is bad enough to soil Malig-Nancy Pelosi's Depends, you're not paying attention. Have a good weekend and try to blot out of your mind what I wrote when you take your shower this morning.BREAKING: Biden will announce at his “State of the Union” speech that he ordered the U.S. military to conduct an “emergency mission” to establish a temporary port in Gaza that would open up a maritime route for humanitarian assistance from Cyprus, U.S. officials said. . . If you're Bibi Netanyahu or even just a member of Jerusalem's war cabinet, you've got to be asking yourself — oh so very quietly — if there's going to come a point where you're going to have to train your guns on American forces to stop them from providing relief to Hamas. If I'm exaggerating, it isn't by much. The chances of an American-Israeli War are approximately zero, but before the White House leaked this whopper, the chances were precisely zero.

- The worst person in the world just made a good point: EU Bookburner General Thierry Breton has confirmed his agency is investigating Apple over its decision to cancel Epic Games' developer account. (Tech Crunch)
Apple did this specifically to prevent Epic Games opening its own app store as is permitted under the new EU regulations.
Breton pointed out that the regulations that force Google and Apple to open up their platforms also forbid those companies from using pretexts to keep their platforms effectively closed.
As we've seen, the EU isn't shy about fining American companies billions of dollars, because for them it's free money.
And it's reached a point where I don't blame them. Watching one group of communist bleed another group of communists dry is better entertainment than you can find almost anywhere.
