Another Harvard Racial Justice "Scholar" Is Accused of Plagiarism

Harvard professor Christina Cross is a rising star in the field of critical race studies. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, secured the support of the National Science Foundation, and garnered attention from the New York Times, where she published an influential article title "The Myth of the Two-Parent Home." ... According to a new complaint filed with Harvard's office of research integrity, however, Cross's work is compromised by multiple instances of plagiarism, including "verbatim plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, uncited paraphrasing, and uncited quotations from other sources."

I have obtained a copy of the complaint, which documents a pattern of misappropriation in Cross's dissertation and one other academic paper. The complaint begins with a dozen allegations of plagiarism related to the dissertation that range in severity from small bits of "duplicative language," which may not constitute an offense, to multiple passages heavily plagiarized from other sources without proper attribution. (Cross did not respond to a request for comment.) The most serious allegation is that Cross lifted an entire paragraph nearly verbatim from a paper by Stacey Bosick and Paula Fomby titled "Family Instability in Childhood and Criminal Offending During the Transition Into Adulthood" without citing the source or placing verbatim language in quotations. ... This was not a one-off error. Later in the paper, Cross lifts another full paragraph from Bosick and Fomby, with minor word substitutions, without placing the copied language in quotation marks or properly citing the authors...
Further investigation is needed. Independent researchers currently looking into plagiarism at Harvard should scrutinize not only these programs but also a control group in other, more substantive disciplines to determine whether plagiarism correlates with left-wing racial disciplines or is widespread throughout the university.

The school has gone to incredible lengths to hamstring this event, including: 1 - Forcing us to change our ticketing system the day of the event. The university's excuse is they want to ensure "fair and equitable" ticketing. This means the hundreds of students who thought they had tickets will not get in. This has never happened at one of our events. 2 - Protester groups were somehow tipped off about the school's new ticketing system and the timing of when they'd be made available, allowing them to reserve large numbers of tickets to stage a walk out. We know this because our students are also in those group chats and alerted us. This also has never happened before. 3 - We had thousands of people register for tickets to this event, but the school would only give us a venue with 330 seat. No overflow. No larger venue. 4 - Our chapter president has been doxxed with his number and address published on social media. The campus police and school administrator shrugged their shoulders. 5 - The administration has said they cannot step in or ask protesters to leave if they attempt to disrupt the event or shout down Kyle. 6 - The school has allowed into the event the student that doxxed our chapter president, knowing this person was responsible for the doxxing. 7 - The protestors have entered the event and are taping the names of the people involved in Kyle Rittenhouse's legal defense. The school is not stopping them. This is what happens when school administrators pander to petulant children. You get chaos. Our brave students will press forward but this is unacceptable, especially in a Tennessee. Memphis had record homicides last year, but apparently our students and Kyle Rittenhouse are the problem for the University of Memphis.

Community Education Council District 2, which serves Manhattan from the Lower East Side to the Upper East Side, passed the controversial measure in an 8-3 vote that demands the city's Department of Education allow a public review of its policy allowing transgender girls to play female sports. The vote took place at the end of a contentious meeting in midtown Manhattan attended by City Council members, district parents and "Umbrella Academy" actor Elliot Page, who transitioned in 2020 and has been a strong supporter of trans youth. Speakers at the meeting mostly slammed the resolution. Jared Danker, a gay man who works for the DOE and a District 2 parent, said the resolution would "marginalize and discriminate against a group of students who need our affirmation and support." ... The resolution is mostly symbolic, as it only serves as a request to DOE brass to hold a review of the existing policy that the department already backs.

It all started with a slightly violent teenage crisis on the part of her young son. He began by attacking his mother for her positions, which were considered too conservative, and gradually adopted the media's arguments on gender theory and wokism. He then revealed his homosexual inclinations, which were eventually accepted by his parents despite their initial shock. But then things got out of hand: the young man announced that he was transgender and had felt like a girl for years. For his part, the son perceived himself in danger within his 'transphobic' family. He became more and more withdrawn, introducing a rupture in family relations that had always been serene and open to discussion. Life for the boy changes: the young boy suffers, has dark thoughts, thinks about suicide, scares himself. Seeing a psychologist is complicated, as he fears that they want to "prevent" him from becoming a girl. He runs away from home and displays cult-like behaviour. He uses highly constructed rhetoric and discourse on trans-identity issues, with stereotyped answers. His judgement is impaired, he tries to cut off his family--his parents, his brother. He spends an increasing amount of time on websites that reinforce his trans-identity--to the detriment of his sleep. Finally, he takes refuge in families that he considers benevolent because they support him in his gender transition project. The parents, as they are cast in his drama, have become antagonists. The poor parents are helpless, because the slightest attempt to keep a link with their son, to care for him in his anxiety, is turned against them because of the well-oiled administrative and social machine that sees them above all as guilty: guilty of not understanding the problems linked to trans-identity, or guilty of transphobia. The social services get involved. They consider refusing to change the young man's name, or making a remark about his female clothes not being adapted to his morphology, as abuse. The family doctor is appalled at what is happening to the family, but is dismissed as 'transphobic.' Beyond her child's suffering, what strikes this mother is the gigantic public conspiracy that has been set up to support her son--a child who is clearly suffering--on the path to gender transition, to the point of doing everything to keep them apart, obscuring the issue with silence and concealment.Sexton adds:

Since the Colombian navy discovered the final resting place of the Spanish galleon San José in 2015, its location has remained a state secret, the wreck -- and its precious cargo -- left deep under the waters of the Caribbean. Efforts to conserve the ship and recover its precious cargo have been caught up in a complicated string of international legal disputes, with Colombia, Spain, Bolivian Indigenous groups and a US salvage company laying claim to the wreck, and the gold, silver and emeralds onboard thought to be worth as much as $17bn. When Colombia tried to auction off part of the bounty to fund the colossal costs of recovering the ship, Unesco and the country's high courts intervened. But eight years after the discovery, officials now say they are pushing politics to one side and could begin lifting artefacts from the "holy grail of shipwrecks" as soon as April. "There has been this persistent view of the galleon as a treasure trove. We want to turn the page on that," Alhena Caicedo, director of the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History, said. "We aren't thinking about treasure. We're thinking about how to access the historical and archeological information at the site."
The San José was returning to Europe with treasures to help fund the war of the Spanish succession when it was sunk by a British squadron in 1708, close to the Caribbean port city of Cartagena. Historians say the wreck could help reveal much about the Spanish empire at the height of its power -- and the shared, overlapping histories of Europe and Latin America. ... The closest comparison would probably be to the Mary Rose, the flagship of Henry VIII's fleet, which sank in 1545 while in battle with the French fleet off the coast of Portsmouth.
... But while the Mary Rose lay in frigid coastal waters, the San José sank in deep, tropical waters which will probably have been cruel to the ship and could make the recovery one of the most costly and complex in history.

Yesterday, vice president Kamala Harris became the first vice president to visit an abortion clinic. Harris traveled to St. Paul, Minn., to make clear the Biden administration's desire to protect "abortion care" and to "codify, put into law the protections of Roe v. Wade." In her remarks, she noted favorably the abortion regime in Minnesota, which does not restrict the practice at any stage of pregnancy. Harris's comments were consistent with President Biden's language on abortion during his nakedly partisan State of the Union last week. Engaging in the Obamaesque practice of condemning members of the Supreme Court while they were seated in front of him, Biden called out "its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade," and promised to "restore Roe v. Wade as the law of the land again!" We are now long gone from the days of Bill Clinton's "safe, legal, and rare." The Biden--Harris position is affirmatively pro-abortion, and open to federal action to deprive states of the prerogative to regulate abortion that the Dobbs decision rightly restored to them. It is a sign not just of how little this administration would offer those disaffected Republicans it is now allegedly wooing, but also of how radical the Democratic Party has become on this issue. In the last ten years, we've witnessed the Russian collusion hoax, calls from military officers and analysts for extra-legal interventions and coups, the Alfa ping hoax, the drink bleach hoax, the "suckers" D-Day hoax, the celebrities' contest about the best way to decapitate, stab, blow up, shoot, or incinerate Trump, the 2016 leftwing postelection effort to turn state electors into "faithless" apostates to elect Hillary, the nutty Mark Milley call to his Chinese counterpart, the Antifa/BLM riotous months of 2020 and effort to storm the White House grounds, the two first-term impeachments, the laptop "Russian disinformation" hoax, the pee accusation, the "51 intelligence authorities" ruse, the FBI hiring of Twitter censors to suppress unwanted news, the Senate trial of a private citizen, the January 6 "insurrection" where "five police officers were killed" lie, the farcical two Republican members of the Jan 6 committee, the attempt to remove Trump from state ballots, the insane E. What is the effect of all this decade-long civil strife on the 2024 voter? There are two knowns and two unknowns from this unprecedented effort to destroy rather than defeat at the polls Donald J. Trump. First, we now know that the more they have tried to destroy Trump through media lies and distortions, lawfare, and extra-legal means, the greater his resiliency and popularity. Two, we also realize that the greater the anti-Trump hysteria, venom, and furor on the Left, the more leftists melt down and project their own paranoias onto Trump. They think something like: "If we were Trump, and we were smeared with the stuff we are dishing out, we know what we do to our tormentors when we got power. So naturally Trump will do to us what we would to us in his place." Their projection then turns into our now daily unhinged screams that Trump will "take revenge" and "demand retribution", ensure a "bloodbath", and "end democracy"--and "therefore we have to double down to employ even more extra-legal means to destroy him". Of the unknowns, we are somewhat unsure about the cumulative effect of this historic effort to warp the electoral system to destroy a candidate, and in at least two regards. One, as the Left ramps up its hatred and frenzy over the next seven months before the election (and they surely will), what will be effect on Independents, swing voters, and the undecided? Will they grow incensed at the damage the Left is doing to the country and react by supporting Trump all the more? Or, alternatively, will they finally curl up, fetal-like, with hands over ears, and simply whimper and wish for someone to make all this conundrum go away--and along with it the disrupter Trump, who, however much the victim, still somehow is responsible for the insane reaction he elicits from the left? As far as the second unknown in the upcoming months, could or would Trump as the Happy Warrior better finesse the vitriol to his own advantage by joking about his tormentors' insanity, using Reaganesque humor to ridicule his critics, or simply shrug, stick to business, ignore the madness, and press on? Can he not unite the country by rising above the tit-for-tat taunts and put-downs? That is, should he not avoid his gratuitous slights (often against fellow Republicans like DeSantis and Haley), curb silly stuff like "birdbrain" and the usual social media ridicule? Or does it even matter at this late date--given the Left will distort anything Trump says anyway--as we just witnessed with the "bloodbath" psychodrama, and the laughable spin to suggest Trump was calling for insurrection rather than the damage Biden will do to the automotive industry? Are we reaching a point, then, where it does not matter how carefully Trump speaks and how ecumenical he might sound, given whatever he says or does will still be distorted given the existential hatred for who he is, what he represents, and what his agendas might portend? Add up what we know and the things we know we don't know, and it is going to be a wild, dangerous next seven months in which we are going to witness things from the Left never seen before in this country.
It happened in Washington at the Gridiron Dinner, a fancy white-tie gathering of major media figures and the top politicians they cover. Biden delivered a speech that was part comedy routine and part inspirational talk to his media base. And this is a joke Biden told, according to news accounts: "Our big plan to cancel student debt doesn't apply to everyone. Just yesterday, a defeated-looking man came up to me and said, 'I'm being crushed by debt. I'm completely wiped out.' And I said, 'Sorry, Donald, I can't help you.'" Ha ha ha. The media audience, of course, laughed. With one joke, Biden acknowledged the work his party's lawfare warriors have done in the Trump matter. And how could Biden not be grateful? He's trailing Trump in the polls, is facing an electorate that largely believes he is too old for a second term, and is underwater in approval ratings for his handling of most issues. No doubt Biden's joke about bankrupting Trump reflects his satisfaction that the lawfare effort is starting to work. But Biden wants more. In February, Politico reported that Biden has "grumbled to aides and advisers that had [Attorney General Merrick] Garland moved sooner in his investigation into former President Donald Trump's election interference, a trial may already be underway or even have concluded." In April 2022, the New York Times reported that Biden "confided to his inner circle" his belief that Trump "should be prosecuted." The Biden administration failed to file court papers in hundreds of thousands of deportation cases, which were as a result tossed by judges. The Department of Homeland Security enforces immigration laws by issuing a Notice to Appear (NTA) to each illegal immigrant and filing it in court. But in approximately 200,000 cases in which NTAs were issued to aliens at the border, triggering the creation of a court date, DHS never filed the actual paper with the court, according to new data obtained by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, an academic group better known as TRAC. In immigration courts in Houston, Texas, and Miami, Florida, both immigration hotbeds, more than half of their deportation cases have been dismissed for that reason since fiscal year 2021. "These large numbers of dismissals and what then happens raise serious concerns," the nonpartisan group, affiliated with Syracuse University, said in its report. The percentage of immigration cases that were dismissed skyrocketed immediately upon President Joe Biden taking office, rising from 0.1% in 2017 and 1.2% in 2019 to 10.6% in 2021.

The percentage of cases dismissed has shrunk since that peak, but with the number of illegal border-crossers at record highs, the actual number of dismissals was far higher in 2022 and 2023 than at any time on record.
If the case is dismissed because the government has not filed paperwork by the time the court date rolls around, the government can simply file a new case against the alien. But TRAC obtained data that allowed it to see that nearly 75% of the time, DHS never bothered to do so.
That has remained constant through Biden's term. And, in some cases, what would appear to be a clerical mistake is virtually never corrected: At the DHS' Baltimore location, it made a second attempt at deporting the alien only 2% of the time.Hate to tell you, but that's because it's being done deliberately.

The figure is on par with data on the HHS website, which indicates 392,000 children have been let go to sponsors in the United States since October 2020, which includes the final four months of the Trump administration. A Washington Examiner analysis of U.S. Customs and Border Protection data revealed that more than 464,000 unaccompanied minors have been apprehended at the border between Biden's first full month in office in 2021 and January 2024. The order from the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals keeps intact Tsarnaev's death sentence for now. But the appeals court said the trial court judge's investigation into plausible claims of juror bias "fell short of what was constitutionally required." The appeals court said the judge must now determine whether two jurors should have been stricken because of biases. "If and only if the district court's investigation reveals that either juror should have been stricken for cause on account of bias," Tsarnaev will be entitled to a new trial to determine whether he should be put to death, the court said.The Boston Marathon Bomber gets an appeal. All the apocalyptic predictions that never came true hardened my skepticism, and the revelation of NOAA altering historical temperature records to promote the scare was all I needed to know that “man-made climate change” is fraudulent.
But others need more proof. This fast-moving, 79-minute film delivers it. Some of the key points that are covered include:
• The world has historically been much warmer than it is now. We are at a near-historically cold period and just emerging from an ice-age.
• CO2, which is the trigger causing global warming according to the alarmists, is low by historical standards, and dangerously close to the low level that causes a die-off of life on Earth, because CO2 = plant food = life.
• In the past when the Earth was much warmer, CO2 levels were much higher, indicating that higher temperatures cause an increase in CO2, not the reverse.
• The post-war cooling period that precipitated the “New Ice Age” panic of the 1970s occurred despite rising man-made CO2 after WWII.
• Outside of increasing temperatures in urban areas due to the urban heat island effect, there is virtually no change in temperature records at stations located in rural areas over the past century. Satellite and ocean temperature records don’t corroborate the rising temperatures found in cities.
• There are no increases in “extreme weather” events. That is simply fear-mongering hyperbole.
• The “climate consensus” is dishonest. In a vast variety of fields, those seeking scientific grants are incentivized to note in their findings that “climate change” is deleterious to the subject matter. Further, those scientists who reject the climate hoax are not considered reputable, thus their opinions are excluded.
• Scientists who reject the climate scare are bullied, defunded, banished from employment, and excommunicated from scientific circles. Examples are given in the film.
• The relationship between clouds and cosmic rays, along with solar activity and solar winds as the sun moves through the Milky Way, have a much more powerful impact on climate than anything man can do.
• The climate/environmental movement has been completely hijacked by anti-capitalists who seek to impose lower standards of living on all, and to deny those in the Third World a chance to improve their lot in life. There is much more, and you will be armed to intelligently debate and dismiss the apocalyptic preachings of The Sustainable Organic Church of the Carbon Apocalypse after watching this movie. George Alan Kelly, 75, has been charged with second-degree murder in the killing of a man he encountered on his property outside Nogales, Arizona. The trial in Santa Cruz County Superior Court is expected to last up to a month. Kelly had earlier rejected a plea deal that would have reduced the charge to one count of negligent homicide if he pleaded guilty. Kelly shot at a group of unarmed migrants who were walking through his nearly 170-acre (69-hectare) cattle ranch in the Kino Springs area, and Cuen-Buitimea was among them, authorities said. Prosecutors have said Kelly recklessly fired an AK-47 rifle toward the migrants, who were about 100 yards (90 meters) away from him. Kelly’s lawyer has said her client shot into the air above the migrants and he feared for his safety and that of his wife and the property. The other migrants weren’t injured and managed to escape back to Mexico. Cuen-Buitimea also entered the U.S. illegally several times and was convicted and deported, most recently in 2016, court records show. The case is being watched closely by the Mexican consulate in Nogales, Arizona, which has been in contact with the victim’s family. The shooting sparked strong political feelings about border security issues less than six months after a prison warden and his brother were arrested in a West Texas shooting that killed one migrant and wounded another. After the eventual arrest on assault and weapons charges, Sheriff Ray Campbell reported that Awet Hagos was on the FBI’s terrorism watch list and that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) wanted him on an arrest warrant “detainer.” Only after all this did ICE run fingerprints and find that Hagos was on the terror watch list and had somehow made his way to Haiti and, from there, the United States. He’d been living in the area for six months, the sheriff later told local news, apparently sponsored by the Quick Stop store owner. I have been unable to independently confirm that Hagos is watch-listed, and the name Hagos is commonly associated with nationals in Eritrea and Ethiopia, although populations of both countries do also reside in Yemen. This entire circumstance demands a public inquiry and far more national attention. . . . . . Nonpartisan homeland security experts say the threat of infiltration by anyone associated with terrorism ideologies through our vulnerable border management infrastructure is severe. A TikToker went viral for telling illegal migrants how to use squatters’ rights to steal Americans’ homes. Leonel Moreno, known by his social media handle Leitooficial, posted a video of himself telling illegal migrants to take advantage of squatters’ rights laws and “invade” empty properties in the United States, the Post Millennial reported.“ I have thought about invading a house in the United States. I found out that there is a law that says that if a house is not inhabited, we can seize it. Guys here in United States also applies the of land invasion and I think that will be my next business, invading abandoned houses,” Mereno said in Spanish, which was translated to English through text placed in front of the video. “Since I have looked for some codes with my friends, Africans, and they told me that they have already taken about seven houses. As the saying goes, ‘Daddy, you have to look for the return and the return right now to invade house since we are not in a street situation and in the only way we have to live in the street and not be a public burden,” he continued. “The Law says that the abandoned house deteriorated and that is in bad condition we can get. And repair and live in it and if we can sell it, even ask for credits with it. What do you say?” Moreno’s video came after a homeowner in Queens was reportedly detained by the New York City Police Department (NYPD) for allegedly trying to kick squatters out of her own home. Agents at the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and throughout the intelligence community were distributed a newsletter that celebrated an intelligence official for crossdressing, saying that dressing up in women's clothes makes him "a better intelligence officer," according to an internal document obtained by The Daily Wire.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence sent its internal newsletter, called "The Dive" and obtained by The Daily Wire through a Freedom of Information Act request, to personnel across the entire Intelligence Community. Featured in the newsletter was an article by an anonymous official claiming that crossdressing makes him a better intelligence officer. "I am an intelligence officer, and I am a man who likes to wear women's clothes sometimes," the article, titled "My Gender Identity and Expression Make Me a Better Intelligence Officer," states in its opening line. The author goes on to argue that his decision to crossdress "merits attention given the climate of discussion around the topic and where it sits in the larger conversation about gender identity and expression and professional appearance." The unclassified newsletter, which specifies on each page that it is "for official use only" and "not cleared for public release," was released to The Daily Wire last week, though information such as names of authors are redacted throughout. It was created by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence's IC Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Office and sent to the entire Intelligence Community.
The ODNI is a cabinet-level agency overseeing the rest of the IC, including the CIA, FBI, NSA, and intelligence components in each branch of the military. The newsletter comes as both the Intelligence Community and the wider federal bureaucracy have institutionalized the DEI agenda throughout their practices under the Biden administration, all while Trump prepares to gut the administrative state if he returns to the White House. "I think my experiences as someone who crossdresses have sharpened the skills I use as an intelligence officer," the anonymous intelligence officer claims, going on to say he is now "more aware of, and hopefully more supportive of, my women colleagues." He expands on the point, saying that he has a "better appreciation for how it can be uncomfortable to wear women's clothes sometimes."
