Three News Stories

One long post this morning -- for you to pause and think about. Don't worry, silliness will return this afternoon, as usual!

Story #1 is the schools banning tag (and other games) at recess.

Story #2 is about a student that was suspended for a prank at a high school football game. He was suspended because he tricked opposing fans to hold up signs that spelled out "we suck."

Story #3 is about a woman who was arrested for letting her 5-year old drive her car because she couldn't.

So, can you, my gentle reader, make any connection between those three stories? How about after a few comments from your host?

Story #1 has been talked to death. It's made the rounds on television shows, radio shows, and various blogs. Many are "outraged." The school systems continue to defend the practice. And the school systems claim it's "For The Children," so they get to do whatever they want. There's a clear reason and purpose these rules are passed. But most won't want to believe them.

With story #2, the student was suspended for 3 days. Well, "in-house" suspension -- you see, the school needs that body in the building because they get cash for every body they keep in the building every day. The student spent many hours working on this prank. He did lots of planning. And not a single person was remotely hurt. Sure, someone was "offended," but there's people who are "offended" when they wake up in the morning. I have reached the point where "offended" has absolutely no meaning to me any more.

And story #3 is interesting. I'm sure the first reaction from people will be "Oh my Gosh, how could this happen?" After all, a 5-year old boy was driving the car. However, now that you've had that reaction, how about looking a little deeper. How well was he driving? I've not known many 5-year olds who could reach the pedals and the steering wheel -- could he? If not, was his mother operating the pedals? Was his mother reaching over and helping with the steering wheel?

Oh, the report says the mother was "impaired." What this particular report leaves out that I've heard reported elsewhere was that she was under the influence of Percoset. So let's see -- the government gave her an impairing drug (via a government-approved doctor). And the government has made it the most serious crime in the world to be caught driving while "under the influence." So government has forced her NOT to drive.

But back to the child driver -- there's not much to report that the driving was bad. One witness claims the car was traveling "like a dart." Has that witness ever seen a dart? No one seems to imply there were ANY safety issues regarding the kid's driving. It is actually possible that with the mother in the car, the 5-year old was actually driving SAFELY? I'm sure your natural reaction to that will be "Ogre, are you serious?" Yes, I'm very serious. Consider for a moment if it's physically possible that a 5-year old drive a car safely.

How much knowledge is really required to drive a car? How safe are cars today? Sure, people get killed "all the time" in cars -- but compared to how many people are IN cars each day, it's such a tiny percentage that it's almost impossible to measure. Are there those of you out there who actually believe it's difficult to drive a car? My point is not to suggest that all 5-year olds should be driving, just for you to consider for a moment that it's possible that one 5-year old might (given physical requirements) might be capable of safely driving a car.

So, do you see any similarity between those three stories now? Do you see the common thread yet? In case you don't get it yet, I'll help: it's about society.

Today's American society, using government force, is designed to punish anyone who dares to step out of line. If you're creative or "different" in any way, you WILL be forced to stop being different. To the US Government, "different" is dangerous. They simply cannot have you being different or thinking things. Instead, by design, the government (via government education) honestly wants you to be dumb: schooled ignorance is more useful than stupidity.

Knowledge is dangerous. If you're capable of independent thought, you're dangerous to the establishment. Sure, go ahead, slap the tin-foil hat on me -- but before you do, try to think about this just a little. Government IS trying to crush independence -- especially independent thought -- because they're scared. Unfortunately, they're wildly successful so far. Government will punish you if you refuse to conform -- whether you're 5 or 50. In most cases, however, the government education system has taught you to conform before you leave that system -- which is why you see so much conflict in the school system: the natural human spirit wants to be free.

Next time you read a news story about conflict in any government education, look and see. Think about it and I'll bet you can see that it's government punishing anyone who dares to be different.

The History of American Education

Have you ever read "The Underground History of American Education?" If you want to know how and why the "public" education system in America works, you might want to. It's not a couple minutes' read, but it is quite enlightening. It starts out:

Our problem in understanding forced schooling stems from an inconvenient fact: that the wrong it does from a human perspective is right from a systems perspective.

I want to open up concealed aspects of modern schooling such as the deterioration it forces in the morality of parenting. You have no say at all in choosing your teachers. You know nothing about their backgrounds or families. And the state knows little more than you do. This is as radical a piece of social engineering as the human imagination can conceive. What does it mean?

What exactly is public about public schools? That’s a question to take seriously. If schools were public as libraries, parks, and swimming pools are public, as highways and sidewalks are public, then the public would be satisfied with them most of the time. Instead, a situation of constant dissatisfaction has spanned many decades. Only in Orwell’s Newspeak, as perfected by legendary spin doctors of the twentieth century such as Ed Bernays or Ivy Lee or great advertising combines, is there anything public about public schools.

Go read the entire thing if you truly want to understand why I, and many others, feel there is absolutely nothing redeeming about the entire government-run school system. But be prepared to be shocked and amazed. If information is power, this reading is an atom bomb.

Richard V on Gonzalez

Richard A. Viguerie, author of Conservatives Betrayed has a few words about the recent resignzation of Gonzalez:

With the resignation of Alberto Gonzales, President Bush has an historic opportunity to recover from some of his self-inflicted injuries. He can do this by nominating a principled conservative to be the next Attorney General. Confront the Democrats, don’t ‘reach out’ to them as liberal commentators are urging.

Confronting the Democrats with a highly qualified, truly conservative nominee for Attorney General is the only way to repair some of this damage.

So, Bush has got a chance to show he's a conservative. But why should he? Seriously, what motivation does Bush have? He's not running again and he doesn't appear to care if conservatives win again. He doesn't appear to be doing things to help even Republicans win again. It appears he's just doing what he wants, when he wants. That would be good -- if he were actually a conservative.

Richard V goes on to list 10 qualified people he thinks would be good for the position:

Chris Cox, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since 2005. Received his JD from Harvard Law School. Associate Counsel to President Reagan. Member, U.S. House of Representatives, 1989-2005.

Miguel Estrada, nominated in 2001 to U.S. Court of Appeals for Second Circuit (D.C.), but filibustered by Democrats.

Jim Gilmore, former Virginia Attorney General (1993-1997) and Virginia Governor (1998-2002). From 1999 to 2003 chaired the Congressional terrorism commission known as the Gilmore Commission. Chairman of the Republican National Committee in 2001-2002.

Edith Jones, nominated by President Reagan and now chief judge of U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. The other finalist for the Supreme Court vacancy given instead to David Souter. Had the honor of being named one of five worst judges in Texas by the liberal Texas Observer.

Ed Meese, Ronald Reagan’s distinguished Attorney General. Though retired, he is active with the Heritage Foundation and would undoubtedly agree to serve his country again for a 17-month interim term.

Ted Olson, U.S. Solicitor General 2001-2004. Assistant Attorney General in the Reagan administration. Successfully litigated Bush v. Gore. Wife Barbara K. Olson was passenger on hijacked airplane on 9/11.

Priscilla Owen, federal judge on U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Previously a justice on the Texas Supreme Court.

Charles W. Pickering, Sr., appointed by President George H. W. Bush to U.S. District Court for Southern District of Mississippi. In 1976, he chaired the subcommittee of the Republican Platform Committee that called for a constitutional amendment to overturn Roe v. Wade.

William H. Pryor Jr., Alabama Attorney General from 1997 to 2004. Presently a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Rick Santorum, former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, where he was chairman of the Senate Republican Conference.

That's some powerful names there, huh? Therefore I guess the odds of any one of them even being considered is about 1000:1.

People who think Bush is a conservative are just wrong. Then again, Bush does have a chance here to show people that he can do some good things. Do you think he'll nominate a conservative (from the list), or do you think, as I suspect, that Bush will nominate someone that will not raise any objections from the Democrats?

A Tale of Two Governments

Here's two governments:

Government A:

Vote as you are told, or you or your family will be tortured or killed.

Government B:

Vote as you are told, or you will be fined -- and if you refuse to pay the fine, you will be killed.

So, which one do you like? Which would you like to live under? Both governments are clearly a "Democracy," right? After all, both governments have people voting to make decisions. In fact, in government A, you're required to vote. Government B allows you the option to not vote if you'd like. But both governments claim to the world that they are "Democracies" because the people get to vote.

Do you see any difference between the two governments? Did you notice who gets to make the decisions in each? In both cases, it is government that's making the decisions while the people have zero power. In both cases, if the "people" do not do what the government wants, they may be killed. So what IS the difference between the two? I honestly don't know. They look the same to me.

Oh, and which governments are they? Government A is Saddam Hussein's brutal rein of terror where tens of thousands were killed for disagreeing with him. Government B is the City of Charlotte.

Economical Home Security System

1. Go to a second-hand store and buy a pair of men's used size 14-16 work boots.

2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns & Ammo magazine and your NRA magazines.

3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazine.

4. Leave a note on your door that reads:

Hey Bubba, Big Jim, Duke and Slim,
I went for more ammunition.
Back in an hour.

Don't mess with the pit bulls –
They attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up real bad.
I don't think Killer took part in it, but it was hard to tell from all the blood.

Anyway, I locked all four of 'em in the house.

Better wait outside.

Katrina Whining

Wow. These people are absolutely incredible. TWO YEARS after a Bush-made natural disaster, they are STILL complaining that they're not getting enough stuff for free!

People are angry and they want to send a message to politicians that they want them to do more and do it faster

They want MORE. For what? Well, nothing. They just feel entitled to "things." Presumably, they want free cash, free houses, free food, free education, and free jobs. They want things because they want them. They want YOU to work and earn money; and they want government to take that money from you and give it to them.

No, I do not feel sorry for these people. I don't even have empathy for them any more. If you're sitting in New Orleans after two damn years, still complaining that "government" hasn't GIVEN you enough, you're just a selfish bastard that wants to live off the backs of others.

Spending Money to Spend Money

Apparently North Carolina Democrats are just not happy. After increasing the budget every year since, well, nearly forever, they're still not happy. This past year the Democrats in the Legislature managed to end up with a surplus -- they collected more money than they were supposed to. They managed to spend every dollar of the surplus and piles more -- so much so that they didn't have enough. But even that doesn't make them happy. They've now created a new department. That department, of course, will cost lots of money. And why does it exist? To prove that they can spend more money.

This is the new Orwellian-named "Program Evaluation Division." It's appointed leader gets $135,000+ salary (plus a staff of 10). And what shall this new "leader" be doing? Why spending all his time and your money to prove that all the other expenditures in Raleigh are good! Seriously, that's his job. He's going to "evaluate" programs that the Democrats in the Legislature spend money on. And since Democrats appointed him, what do you suppose the chances are that he will suggest even one reduction in spending?

Oh, but he'll evaluate a whopping "as many as" THREE programs a year. Woo-Hoo! Isn't that special? And he might make suggestions held out as exemplary from other similar programs like:

A review of Florida's community colleges found that half the students taking required college preparatory classes were dropping out. The report said the community colleges need to do more to help the students succeed or do a better job steering them into workplace training programs so they emerge with a skill.

WOW! I'm amazed! How did we ever survive without knowing that if 50% of people drop out of a program that the program isn't working? Shazam! Man, that's some way to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, isn't it? Or maybe this new, highly-paid "leader" will make a discovery like this one:
An evaluation of a low-income housing program in Kansas found that too many new developments were being approved when renovations of existing buildings were more cost effective. It also found that rural communities with waiting lists for low-income housing have difficulty attracting developers.

What? Developers aren't attracted to low-income housing? I'm shocked! It's so good that we can spend hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to find this stuff out -- otherwise we might not know it. And I'm sure there's nothing else we could be spending that money on, right? It's not like we're short millions in road funding...

Democrats in North Carolina honestly have one goal in mind: to spend money. They don't care what they spend it on, they don't care how they get it. They want money and power and nothing else. Perhaps 100 years of one-party rule in North Carolina should finally come to an end.

More Kids Jokes

Today, a few jokes from Kender:

6 Reasons Not To Mess With Children

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.

The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah".

The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?"

The little girl replied, "Then you ask him ".

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.

The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."

The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."

Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to "honor" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?"

Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, "Thou shall not kill."

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture."Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'

A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher , she's dead."

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face."

"Yes," the class said.

"Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"

A little fellow shouted, "Cause your feet ain't empty."

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:

"Take only ONE. God is watching."

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

Fix a Fence, Go Directly to Jail

More and more these days, I'm being pushed to join the anarchists. I really don't want to. I don't want to be an enemy of government. I want government to work. But with each day I realize more and more that it's not going to happen. Government today in America is the supreme power and no one is allowed to challenge them. These days I think it is only a matter of time before they kill me for disobeying them.

How can ANYONE defend a government that jails someone for repairing a fence? Seriously. A man bought a house. It had a fence that was in poor repair. It was infested with termites. But the fence was ALREADY IN PLACE. The man thought the fence belonged to the city, so he asked the city to repair it. The city told the man that the fence belonged to him -- so he repaired it. Later, the city changed it's mind and decided they wanted owned the fence. So the city ordered him to put it back the way it was (presumably with termites and all). He did not.

He actually attempted to work with the city. He spent 142 hours trying to comply with the city. He failed. So what's the result? SIX MONTHS IN JAIL. In case you're not getting this:

Francisco Linares is going to JAIL for SIX MONTHS for repairing a fence

What kind of country is this? How can the city defend this (and they are)? Superior Court Judge Sandra Thompson is scum. Dean Pucci (city prosecutor) is total slime. I'm SO sick of "I'm just doing my job." Miserable Bastards, the lot of them. I cannot believe these scum-sucking excuses for human beings are throwing a man in jail for six months for repairing a fence.

I could understand if people revolted. Things like this are certainly excuses for armed rebellion. I wonder how fast the government would shoot Mr. Linares if he refused to report to jail? Imagine that -- this man could be killed BECAUSE HE REPAIRED A FENCE.

This country has nothing close to freedom left. I yearn for freedom, but I have little hope it will appear in this country ever again.

Update: JCard is blogging on this one, too.

Fat Problem?

And yes, that's "Fat," and not "Phat."

Recent reports (taxpayer paid-for, of course) are suggesting that there's a problem with Americans and fat. The study singles out Mississippi as the state with the largest problem. And oh yes, government is moving in to spend money, err.. "fix" the problem. But that's not really the problem, is it?

Should I, personally, be able to eat a deep fried turkey? What about French fries? Should I be able to buy and eat one of those lovely elephant ears (fried bread)? According to today's government, I should NOT have the freedom to buy and eat those foods. Seriously, that's what this report is suggesting. Why? Because I'm not responsible enough, according to government.

Can someone point to me any section of any Constitution (state or federal) that suggests that the government is my mommy? Can anyone point to a line or phrase that suggests that government is responsible for anything I do? I can, on the other hand, point to various lines and sections that suggest I should be free. Unfortunately, these sections obviously no longer apply.

As the article about the report points out, the real problem is government! It's not fried food, and it's not fat people -- it's GOVERNMENT. And yes, nearly every time there is a problem today, it is government's fault. What the government is worried about is the high cost of treating fat people. They are worried about the high cost of treating diabetes, heart problems, and other health ailments from fat people. As usual, there's a simple problem -- and as usual, there's no way it will happen.

The simple solution: freedom. Allow people freedom. Permit people to be free. Do not punish people who want to be free. That's all. Then there is no problem any more. If we were free, there would be no worries here and no problems regarding government expenses. But you see, that's cruel -- so we're not going to do it. Instead, we are going to continue to punish those who are careful and reward those who are not. We will punish those who are not obese. We will punish those who watch what they eat and take care of their bodies; and we will reward those who eat fatty foods and do not care.

As long as government believes they have the power to "care" and be "compassionate," there is no chance for freedom. Oh, how I yearn for freedom.

NC Royalty Meeting

There is a meeting today between the various Royal Houses of North Carolina: The Governor, the Speaker of the House, and the President of the Senate. Who are they and why are they meeting? To answer the second question first -- to crush you.

They are claiming they are meeting to "discuss ways to get a handle on North Carolina's transportation spending backlog." In reality, they're discussing how they want to spend your money. Seriously. They're not going to this meeting with the attitude of, "How can we Constitutionally serve the people of the state." They're going into it with the attitude of "We are the Supreme Rulers, what would We like to do today?"

Democrats have ruled North Carolina with an Iron Fist for over 100 years. That's not hyperbole, this state has literally been ruled by one party: Democrats. Now they're claiming they don't have enough money for roads -- but somehow they've managed to spend nearly $20 billion this year -- but couldn't find a measly $65 million for this year's roads. To put that in terms the working man can understand (which the Democrats do not): if you earn $40,000 per year, that would be like trying to find $130 to repair your car.

The only reason Democrats are selling this the way they are is to raise money. They are claiming they need "tens of billions" of dollars for roads. Of course, they don't tell you that the reason they need this money is because they've already spent the tens of billions that was raised FOR ROADS on museums and corporate welfare. And no, they will never, ever consider reducing ANYTHING in government (they are Democrats), so the only solution will be more money. The only issue remaining in the minds of the Democrats is whether they will raise income taxes, sales taxes, or use other smoke and mirrors to get more cash.

This is the clear result of one-party rule in North Carolina for a century. Perhaps it's time for a change.

Kids and the Ocean

How about a few silly ones for the afternoon (Via Raven):

KIDS WRITE ABOUT THE SEA

1) This is a picture of an octopus. It has eight testicles.

(Kelly age 6)

2) Oysters' balls are called pearls.

(James age 6)

3) If you are surrounded by sea you are an Island. If you don't have sea all round you, you are incontinent.

(Wayne age 7)

4) Sharks are ugly and mean, and have big teeth, just like Emily Richardson. She's not my friend no more.

(Kylie age 6)

5) A dolphin breaths through a butthole on the top of its head.

(Billy age

6) My uncle goes out in his boat with pots, and comes back with crabs.

(Millie age 6)

7) When ships had sails, they used to use the trade winds to cross the ocean. Sometimes, when the wind didn't blow, the sailors would whistle to make the wind come. My brother said they would have been better off eating beans.

(William age 7)

I like mermaids. They are beautiful, and I like their shiny tails. And how on earth do mermaids get pregnant? Like, really?

(Helen age 6)

9) I'm not going to write about the sea. My baby brother is always screaming and being sick, my Dad keeps shouting at my Mom, and my big sister has just got pregnant, so I can't think what to write.

(Amy age 6)

10) Some fish are dangerous. Jellyfish can sting. Electric eels can give you a shock. They have to live in caves under the sea where I think they have to plug themselves into chargers.

(Christopher age 7)

11) When you go swimming in the sea, it is very cold, and it makes my willy small.

(Kevin age 6)

12) Divers have to be safe when they go under the water. Two divers can't go down alone, so they have to go down on each other.

(Becky age

13) On holidays my Mom went water skiing. She fell off when she was going very fast. She says she won't do it again because water fired right up her fat butt.

(Jule age 7)

Surrender in September

It's time. Many groups are joining forces. The dreambeat will get louder. The voices calling for immediate, unconditional surrender will scream. September is their month. Watch the news. Watch the TV. Watch blogs. The order of the month will be "surrender now." But some people are working against those who would surrender.

Now like those who support surrender, I want peace. I'd love to have peace now. I really would. However, unlike those who support the September Surrender, I do not want peace at any cost.

The peace that these people support is peace while living in Dhimmitude. The sort of peace these people suggest is peace while giving the world to Islam. Whether you think 1% of Muslims are dangerous or 99% doesn't matter -- surrender now IS surrender to the raidicals who will force you to convert or die. Surrender now will ensure that any "moderate" Muslim faction has no chance. Surrender now means that Islam will become the law of the land around the world.

A number of people claim that military might will not work. However, history strongly disagrees with them. In fact, history shows that not only can military might work, but it works whenever it's tried -- when it's used correctly. When we fought in WWII, we could have surrendered. We could have given in to either the Nazis or Japan. Instead, we used a mighty military, with massive force, to crush them -- and look at them now.

Japan is a great world economic power that has abandoned it's hereditary imperial ways. Germany is so peace-loving now that they are willing to submit and surrender to Islam.

There is no question we can win. However, it will take great courage and a lot of conviction -- which our current leadership, especially in the House and Senate, do not have. But if we can abjectly humiliate the Islamofascists, including their passive supporters that are the majority of the Muslims in the Middle East and the world, and show them that their hatred and their belief system is not tolerable in today’s world, then they may come out of it like Japan and Germany.

I wish we could win the hearts and minds of the Muslims -- but thousands of years of history shows me that it isn't going to happen -- at least not on a large scale. We will only win with crushing military might.

Observer Cheers Socialism

Once again, the Charlotte Observer screams about how wonderful the world would be if we would just hurry up and have the utopia that is socialism here in America. They absolutely LOVE the idea of complete and total government control over everything -- they're just starting with health care -- For the Children, of course.

This time, they're complaining about a massive, expensive, non-capitalist expansion of the health care "for the Children." Keep in mind, this is a massive EXPANSION of insurance. It's a HUGE cash transfer from those who work for cash to those who do not work for cash -- and they're complaining it's not enough. The Charlotte Observer will not be happy until ALL health care, of all kinds does not have to be paid for by the people who use it -- instead, working people will be forced to pay.

Oh, but yet AGAIN, it's "For The Children." I understand why that works. I just wish people would understand. I can see the emotional tug. I can see people saying, "Oh, gee, those poor children! It's not right in this country where we have so much for any child to not have basic health care." Sure. No problem. But I have one question for each person who says that:

How much cash are YOU, personally, willing to give for those children?

Give me a number. How much from your paycheck, each paycheck, are you willing to pay? I'm serious. And if it's not enough, then what?

You see, that's what this argument comes down to, again and again. These "wonderful things" that people "should have" cost money. And the people who want to support them -- liberals, Democrats, the Charlotte Observer -- DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR THEM. Instead, those who support such programs DEMAND that others pay for them. That's wrong, in every sense of the word.

No, it doesn't matter if the "majority" of people want these expenditures -- they're still blatantly wrong and clearly unconstitutional. For example, if I can find a majority of people in my state (say, 51%) who want to buy me a mansion and equip it with anything I want, is it okay for me to take guns and point them at the other 49% and take their money from them to pay for it? It is EXACTLY the same thing.

ANY time you support government spending on anything, try to keep in mind that you're asking government to point a gun at your grandmother to force her to pay for it -- whether she wants to or not. And for those who still don't get it -- that's morally wrong and patently unconstitutional.

Socialist Extortion Working

Here's how it works:

The socialists in Mecklenburg County (Charlotte) enacted a tax. They did so under false pretenses, lying to the public to ensure they would get support for this new tax. Once the tax was in place, they immediately started using the tax for purposes other than why it was passed. Today, almost none of the money collected from that tax is used for the reason it was passed.

Because of this, a large group of people got together and said that they wanted to stop the tax. Since the tax was being used incorrectly and the people had been lied to, the people claim they want their money back. Of course, socialists, being socialists (aka Democrats) are very angry about this idea that they might have less of your money to spend. They are VERY angry that you might take your money back. Therefore, they've resorted to extortion.

These socialists are now saying that if you DARE to vote to "punish" these people for being liars by taking your money back, they are going to punish you HARD. They will raise your property taxes (to force the suburban vote). They're going to take away all public buses (to force the inner city vote). They're MAD that the people actually want to hold them accountable, and they're openly threatening people who would dare to reduce a tax (any tax).

And they're winning. According to recent polls, people are caving into the extortion. People are saying they are afraid of having their property taxes increase, so they're supporting leaving the other tax increase in place. Others are also saying they like the bus system and they're terrified that the buses will be taken away -- even those who don't like what the current tax is being used for.

Charlotte city government is completely full of filth and scum. They're openly using extortion and open threats to ensure they stay in power and have MORE money. If anyone else were to take the actions this government is taking, they'd be in jail. But this is government in North Carolina today -- they are completely and totally above the law and above reproach. Fight them at your own risk.
