Observer Cheers Socialism
Once again, the Charlotte Observer screams about how wonderful the world would be if we would just hurry up and have the utopia that is socialism here in America. They absolutely LOVE the idea of complete and total government control over everything -- they're just starting with health care -- For the Children, of course.
This time, they're complaining about a massive, expensive, non-capitalist expansion of the health care "for the Children." Keep in mind, this is a massive EXPANSION of insurance. It's a HUGE cash transfer from those who work for cash to those who do not work for cash -- and they're complaining it's not enough. The Charlotte Observer will not be happy until ALL health care, of all kinds does not have to be paid for by the people who use it -- instead, working people will be forced to pay. Oh, but yet AGAIN, it's "For The Children." I understand why that works. I just wish people would understand. I can see the emotional tug. I can see people saying, "Oh, gee, those poor children! It's not right in this country where we have so much for any child to not have basic health care." Sure. No problem. But I have one question for each person who says that:How much cash are YOU, personally, willing to give for those children?
Give me a number. How much from your paycheck, each paycheck, are you willing to pay? I'm serious. And if it's not enough, then what? You see, that's what this argument comes down to, again and again. These "wonderful things" that people "should have" cost money. And the people who want to support them -- liberals, Democrats, the Charlotte Observer -- DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR THEM. Instead, those who support such programs DEMAND that others pay for them. That's wrong, in every sense of the word. No, it doesn't matter if the "majority" of people want these expenditures -- they're still blatantly wrong and clearly unconstitutional. For example, if I can find a majority of people in my state (say, 51%) who want to buy me a mansion and equip it with anything I want, is it okay for me to take guns and point them at the other 49% and take their money from them to pay for it? It is EXACTLY the same thing. ANY time you support government spending on anything, try to keep in mind that you're asking government to point a gun at your grandmother to force her to pay for it -- whether she wants to or not. And for those who still don't get it -- that's morally wrong and patently unconstitutional.

That's right. Thievery doesn't become okay, simply because a lot of people approve it.

Apparently today, is IS okay. Massive numbers of people agree that it is. Those of who who disagree are in a tiny, shrinking, minority.
