The REAL Story

Photobucket

"Wait a minute now, I didn't authorize ATTACKS on the Pirates,
I authorized A TAX on the pirates
"

Mr. Obama authorized action against the pirates only in the case of "imminent danger" to the hostage they held. He was attempting to use diplomacy to end the situation, and the standoff had gone on for four days; thankfully, the SEAL commander on the scene took the broadest possible interpretation of his orders and gave the orders necessary to take the actions that SEALS do so very well, resulting in three dead pirates, one pirate taken prisoner, and one live hostage recovered.

The President looked Presidential in 'authorizing' the action because a Lt. Cmdr. in the Navy had the brass balls to do his job. Obama gets the credit as C-I-C, as he should (he'd also have gotten the blame had the operation gone sour), but it was in spite of his own actions rather than because of them.

I AM greatful and relieved that this situation turned out as it did, but I have to wonder; just how long can we rely on such (p)luck in ensuing encounters? Mr. Obama has shown himself to be unfit for the responsibility he holds. I only pray that those under him in the chain of command continue to do what is needed in spite of the lack of true leadership they have in their C-I-C.

Yes, Virginia, I am A Terrorist!

Photobucket

At least by the latest standards put forth in the latest threat assessment report by the DHS.....

Since by the standard's of the report; ALL of our Founding Fathers would be dangerouse Right-wing extremists and/or Terrorists, I feel that I'm in great company and am honored beyond expression to be considered thus by the ilk of tyrannical types that constitute the present U.S. government.

How about you? Are YOU a terrorist and don't even know it?

Tea Party Part Tres

Photobucket

The Tea Parties, contrary to the MSM blather, were NOT about Party affiliations; they were about the fact that a large percentage of the population is not content to follow President Obama's foray into Socialism.

BOTH Parties share equal blame; indeed, WE share in the blame for allowing this state of affairs to progress to the point it exists today, and it is up to US to set things straight. THAT is the message of the Tea Parties.

Tea Party, Part Deux

Well, I arrived at the south lawn of the Indiana Statehouse 45 minutes before the scheduled start of the Indianapolis Tea Party and was gratified to see the large turnout already there before me, and with a continuing swell of newcomers as the event progressed. Local radio celebrity Greg Garrison gave a great speech on our responsibilities as Citizens in a free Republic, followed by speeches by several people, who, like me, were American Citizens by their own choice instead of by birth. Those speeches were very inspirational, and then came the coup de gras; a speech from the past by "Thomas Paine" of 'Common Sense' fame. (well, famous if you've read your American history; something that all too few students have done in these PC times...)

Mr. Paine reiterated the cry from 230 years ago that "when a government becomes too oppressive upon it's people it is the right, nay the DUTY, of those people to rise up and take the freedom that is their birthright back from the oppressors; through the ballot box if possible, and by force of arms if need be.
He excoriated us as being too self-interested in our own personal welfare to be good stewards of the liberties that his generation had risked everything for to be able to bequeath to us. He was correct in every statement he made.

THE question now is: WHAT do WEdo?

Here are some suggestions of actions WE all should take:

1. Become politically involved; become aware of just who the players are and what they are up to.

2. STOP being afraid of being called "Racist", "Xenophobic", or "Unfair" for espousing those tenants that our Founding Fathers held dear. Political Correctness is nothing more than code words for "things Progressives/Liberals/Socialists/Communists don't like". STOP playing THEIR game and start standing up for what this country was founded upon.

3. Remember that "equal opportunity" does NOT mean "equal results"; there is NO guarantee of results, and there is nothing FAIR about taking from those that produce to give to those who won't. Help a person who needs it to rise above his temporary poor circumstance, by all means, but DON"T support him in those circumstances.

4. Remember that the government that is powerful enough to give you everything you desire is the same government powerful enough to take it all away at it's whim.

5. Take a moment every day and give thanks to whatever Deity/Principle you perceive as the Creator that we have had the good fortune to live in a land where we can do so without coercion or censure. Learn about our Judeo-Christian heritage - it is the reason our Republic was founded with the principles that are at its essence. Without that background, those principles cannot be maintained and the Republic shall fall.

Tax Day

Photobucket

Tomorrow is Tax Day, and across the Nation there is a storm brewing in the (TEA)pot.

Here in Indianapolis there will be a Tea Party on the Statehouse lawn from 1630 through 1830 hrs. I will certainly be there.

Please, check to see where there will be a Party near you, and BE THERE.

It is your duty as a responsible Citizen to do everything in your power to rein in an out of control government.

Stopping Illegals

I heard an idea, in the spirit of true inter-state cooperation:

Trench the Rio Grande to 9' depth
Use the resulting dirt as fill for New Orleans to solve their levee problem
Take the over-population of Everglades Gators from Fla and deposit them in the new Rio Grande Trench/Moat

3 problems solved.

Works for me !

They were correct.....

I have to admit it. My liberal friends were right.

They told me if I voted for McCain, the nation's Hope would deteriorate,
and sure enough, there has been a 20 point drop in the Consumer
Confidence Index since the election, reaching a lower point than any
time during the Bush administration.

They told me if I voted for McCain, the US would become more deeply
embroiled in the Middle East, and sure enough tens of thousands of
additional troops are scheduled to be deployed into Afghanistan.

They told me if I voted for McCain, that the economy would get worse and
sure enough unemployment is approaching 8.8% and the new stimulus
packages implemented recently have sent the stock market lower than at
any time since 9-11.

They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "crooks" in high
ranking positions in Federal government and sure enough, several recent
cabinet nominees and Senate appointments revealed resumes of bribery and
tax fraud.

Well I ignored my Democrat friends in November and voted for McCain.

And they were right... all of their predictions have come true.

The Story of Ed Freeman

You're an 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded, and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley , 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam . Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8 - 1, and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.

You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you're not getting out. Your family is 1/2 way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.

Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter, and you look up to see an un-armed Huey, but it doesn't seem real, because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.

Ed Freeman is coming for you. He's not Medi-Vac, so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.

He's coming anyway.

And he drops it in, and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board.
Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire, to the Doctors and Nurses.
And, he kept coming back.... 13 more times..... And took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman, died last Wednesday at the age of 80, in Boise, ID ......May God rest his soul.....
I bet you didn't hear about this hero's passing, but we sure were told a whole
bunch about some Hip-Hop Coward beating the crap out of his "girlfriend"

Keep Your Powder Dry

The shot heard round the world
Led to freedom ringing clear
Weve kept the fire burning bright
For two hundred plus years
Now the tide has turned agin us
Our freedom is being sold
Where is the courage we once had
The patriots so bold?
A once great country gasps her last
She withers in the field
While government as cancer grows
Lady Liberty does yield
So is this it? oh shall we quit?
Should freedom fade away?
Is this the final curtain call
Has freedom seen its day?
HELL NO I say as I rise up
My rifle in my hand
Ill not lose my liberty
Ill not lose my land
So stand with me brave patriots
Against the rushing tide
No longer shall we silent stand
No longer will we hide
No longer will their words hold sway
No longer will they steal
The freedom God has given us
No longer will we yield
We stand atop the parapets
Our trumpets blowing loud
To spread the truth of Freedoms Call
Throughout the gathering crowd
Grab your coat, pick up your gun
Take up the battle cry
Be ready for the coming war
And keep your powder dry

Why I Carry a Gun

I don't know who wrote this, but I WISH it had been me. This piece encapsulates EXACTLY how I feel about firearms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why I Carry a Gun
My old grandpa once said to me, "Son, there comes a time in every man's life when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts bustin' caps and usually it's when he becomes too old to take an ass whoopin'.
I don't carry a gun to kill people. I carry a gun to keep from being killed.
I don't carry a gun to scare people. I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.
I don't carry a gun because I'm paranoid. I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.
I don't carry a gun because I'm evil. I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world.
I don't carry a gun because I hate the government. I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.
I don't carry a gun because I'm angry. I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.
I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone. I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.
I don't carry a gun because I'm a cowboy. I carry a gun because, when I die and go to Heaven, I want to be a cowboy.
I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man. I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.
I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate. I carry a gun because, unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.
I don't carry a gun because I love it.. I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.
"Police Protection" is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves.
Police do not protect you from crime; they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take an ass whoopin'."
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.
The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.
Keep your trust in God; The government has failed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What some great Americans had to say about guns:

"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself! They are the American people's Liberty Teeth and keystone under Independence. From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security, and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere, restrains evil interference -- they deserve a place of honor with all that's good!"
--President George Washington, in a speech to Congress. 7 January, 1790

"The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed."--Thomas Jefferson. (emp mine)

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." --Benjamin Franklin

"One of the ordinary modes, by which tyrants accomplish their purposes without resistance, is, by disarming the people, and making it an offense to keep arms." -- Constitutional scholar and Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, 1840

"These Sarah Brady types must be educated to understand that because we have an armed citizenry, that a dictatorship has not happened in America. These anti-gun fools are more dangerous to Liberty than street criminals or foreign spies."
-Theodore Haas, Dachau Survivor (who is more qualified to speak out about the tyranny of gun control than one who almost died because of it?)

Even Gandhi didn't agree with the Sarah Brady's of the world:

"Among the many misdeeds of British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest."
-- Mohandas Gandhi, An Autobiography, pg 446

Last, but not least:

"Gun control has cleared the way for seven major genocides since 1915, in which governments gone bad murdered 56,000,000 persons, including millions of children."-Aaron Zelman of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership

To those who know who they are : THESE are the reasons I carry a gun.

Addend: For those that still believe in Sarah Brady myths that "guns cause violence":

We're Mad as Hell, Shall We Take ANY More?!?

"Mr. Paine" is correct. WE THE PEOPLE must TAKE BACK what is rightfully ours. WE lent the politicians the power and they have abused it. It is our right, nay, our DUTY, to reclaim that power before it is abused any furthur.

Care For Some Tea?

On April 15, 2009 there will be a number of "Tea Parties" all across America to protest the slide towards Socialism this Administration is enacting. I urge each and every one of you to try to find the Tea Party event nearest you and attend it.

Our beloved Republic is under attack from without, but even more seriously, from within. It is the DUTY of every Citizen to come to the fore and protect this greatest experiment in human history; politically for now, but with force of arms if need be.

Lloyd Marcus has written a theme song that might provide you some inspiration:

Our Forefathers had the courage of their convictions to stand up to a tyrannical government and they left us the mechanisms to prevent such a government from reoccurring, but we have been lax in our vigilance. We have allowed the creeping fingers of Socialism to start to choke the life out of our Republic.
The current Administration's policies are contrary to every Principle that our Forefathers fought and died for.

We the People are being yoked to a national debt that couldn't be repaid by our great-grandchildren's time (Taxation without representation sound familiar?).

We are being restrained in matters of private business by excessive and onerous regulation without true redress to the government (sound familiar?),

The current Administration has made no secret of it's intention to radically restrict the private Citizen's right to to maintain and BEAR arms (for those that weren't listening on that day in American History class, the "shot heard 'round the world" in Concord Mass. was a direct result of the British Army marching to the city with the intent to confiscate the arms held by private Citizens).

There is still a small amount of time to peacefully forestall the encroachments on our Liberties, BUT, if we don't act fast and en-masse it will take force of arms to restore those Liberties to us.

Our Forefathers revolted against repression and tyranny, now it is Our time to do the same.

I pray we still have the courage and convictions of our Forefathers.
