Taboo, a 12-year-old black and white moggie, has nicked gloves, socks, underpants and shoes from properties across Otley, West Yorkshire. Her owner, Sandra Danskin, 62, has now been forced to share regular pictures of the items on social media so residents can collect them. 'This morning I had four pairs of socks and a pair of underpants. She loves bringing back items of clothing like that, but also we've had a mop head and kitchen rolls. 'We even had half a dozen eggs once, still in their box, but all broken. . . She also said the moggie is quite fastidious and brings back a 'full set' of anything she managed to find. Sandra said: 'If she brings back a sock she will always go back and get the matching one so there's a pair.Courtesy Grateful Love is the only explanation I can think of. Two women were out for a Saturday stroll. One had a Doberman and the other, a Chihuahua. As they walked down the street, the one with the Doberman said to her friend, "Let's go over to that bar for a drink." The lady with the Chihuahua said, "We can't go in there. We've got dogs with us." The one with the Doberman said, "Just watch, and do as I do." They walked over to the bar and the one with the Doberman put on a pair of dark glasses and started to walk in. The bouncer at the door said, "Sorry, lady, no pets allowed." The woman with the Doberman said, "You don't understand. It’s really the only one that I will go back and read from beginning to end, even if I have missed it in real time. Y’all have kindly accepted and posted an earlier photo I sent of Bob the Cat, and of Insom. Sadly, Bob has shuffled off this mortal coil, but it took friends only two months to suck me into taking a kitten that had been dumped in their condo community. And he came with a name, Turd Ferguson, which the ladies at the vet clinic love getting to yell in the waiting room. The reason he was at the vet clinic was to get his manhood altered. I felt kind of bad about it but it needed to be done. This picture is of him in his post surgery stupor when I first brought him home. It’s the only time since I’ve had him that he’s not been a little asshole racing around the house. Well, when he’s not sleeping. So sorry to learn that you have lost Bob. Turd Ferguson is delightful. Trumpy's doing fine. I'll arrange cat box. Thanks to everyone for input. 264 Ughhh...our neighbours are gone until tomorrow. I've been feeding their outdoor cats. One of them, my favorite, Trumpy, showed up at the porch at 3am. Hadn't seen him in days. But has a horrible limp. Back leg, barely using it. He's been resting in here since 3am. Didn't move until almost 11am. Ate a little, drank a bit. His sister.....and maybe lover, came over....no reaction. I put him out to go pee, and he was limping across the street. Hell no, Grabbed him. Brought him back in the house. He's resting while I have beer. I've never been a cat person before these. As an outdoor cat, will he just pee and crap wherever? I'll try to go with him outside. The neighbour just said out him out, but he's really limping. I'm fine with taking care of dude. If you are going to keep him indoors while his leg heals, then you'll need a plastic litter box and some litter, and a scoop. You can get them at Walmart or Petco; the box and scoop aren't terribly expensive, and they have scoopable litter now that's $7 for 14 lbs. at WM. Disclaimer: All of my cats have been indoor felines. Miss Linda had one, Annabelle the pure white shorthair, whom she took in after Hurricane katrina. A. was used to going out; when Linda steered her around to the box, she adapted immediately and seemed just as happy. Ja, the Pet Thread is most festive and joyous. As some of you may know, Werner is well-disposed to the catly race, and delights in their antic japery. I would post a photo of my gray tabby, Commander Star-Sprinkles, but she is not given to favor the capturing of her image in a visual medium. Alas, Werner must yield to that, for all of us who know cats understand that Kitty is not about to do the thing she disdains doing.
Some have asked about The Merry Kitten, the song that Commander Star Sprinkles demands to be sung while she feasts on her dry and wet food, and also when scritches are given. It is an obscure bit of music, and may pre-date even Goethe and Schiller. There are more stanzas, but Werner feels this captures the essence. Danke for this captivating thead. Posted by: Werner Herzog Has Opinions at September 07, 2024 04:04 PM (tcQGp) 26

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at September 07, 2024 *** There's a meme that predates the Internet about how people either choose dogs that resemble them, or they come to resemble their dogs. Anyone who has seen a fat person waddling along with his Corgi or overweight poodle will know what I mean. The same, I guess, could be true of cat people and cats. But cats, except for a few points like fur length and face flatness, don't vary as much as dogs and people do. So you either look like your cat or you don't. The similarity between the visages of pets and their owners is noted by many. Werner wonders, however, if there may not be a philosophical resemblance as well. Commander Star Sprinkles, my beloved Gray Tabby, seems to be aligned with my views on the meaning of life, death, and small engine repair, among others. She knows of the Austrian Menace, and the reason that all in Europe shun the French, and will brook no dissent on these matters. Were she to speak, she would proclaim her rule and demand that all fall in line. Is this not the feline way? Ach, she demands now her Friskies treats. Werner must comply.

Headstrong, with marked intelligence for rebellion. Powerful and athletic. Bullies other cats. He likes to chew certain kinds of plastic films, so I have to keep the trash up high out of his reach. He once emptied a whole wastebasket to get to a piece of cellophane at the bottom. 'NO' does not deter him a bit. Posted by: gp at September 07, 2024 04:48 PM (wNh9V) 69
Milton (Paradise Lost) would be another possibility for a name; he was blind I believe.

Fenlon, thank you for your kind words. He was a good boy, but came to me as an abandoned adult, so I could only guess at his age, and I think the deprivations he suffered before my time with him shortened his life. But I am grateful for my time with him. And he knew 6 or 7 years of a secure home, with someone who was fond of him. (Me)

stateless, most cats are fastidious, they will use a litter box or if one is not available, a very secluded place to pee and poop.
Behind the sofa or in a closet are typical. If he pees or craps somewhere else it is a message to you or someone. That means you have to figure out what is wrong and address it. One of the reasons I like to have a tilled garden and wood chips is the cats will use that instead of the litterbox inside. If you want him to stick local when you decide he can go out, you might consider something like that. (When I was a little kid I had a sandbox. Yep, the cat shared it with me. I had a good immune system I guess) Posted by: Kindltot at September 07, 2024 04:50 PM (D7oie) Posted by: Commissar of Plenty and Lysenkoism in Solidarity with the Struggle at September 07, 2024 04:51 PM (8tkni) 74

34 Hi Stateless!
If Trumpy doesn't have any open wounds, you don't need to worry too much. Bit if he's still gimping come Monday, I'd take him to a vet. Please keep him indoors and perhaps ask the neighbors if you can keep him. Sounds like he's nuzzled himself into your heart. Posted by: nurse ratched at September 07, 2024 04:15 PM (qtjaJ) Thanks nurse!! He's letting me carry him. Moving around a bit more. I fed the cats, brought back some kitty litter. He'll be here tonight. I went over and his aunt has a limp in the front leg. Is there a fight club these cats are going to?. And our dog has arthritis. I'm the oldest and healthiest..... Have a happy week! Posted by: Stateless at September 07, 2024 04:53 PM (jvJvP) Posted by: Commissar of Plenty and Lysenkoism in Solidarity with the Struggle at September 07, 2024 04:58 PM (8tkni) 80

Thanks. I have some kitty litter on a lid. We had house renovations, stuff is still moved so anywhere Dude goes will be found. Just want him to be alright. I took care of his mom and aunt when they were reluctant house cats. So I actually have gotten pretty good with cats. I've gone into their backyard, called out and cats would just pour out of the bushes running towards me and meowing. As a dog person, that's pretty freaky.... Oh, pet thread!
Our local Tim Horton's will give people free plain timbits for the dogs if you ask. I'll drive Ralphy there, open the window, he howls and they actually say 'Hi Ralphy!' He ofter scores 2 timbits. Sometimes more. McDonald's has a pup cup of ice cream but youmhave to ask and it's a production. But Arby's, which we like and is 20 minutes away, givesmpup cups of meat., Ralphy howls like anything! They know him there too. Posted by: Stateless at September 07, 2024 05:07 PM (jvJvP) 87

cats like an inch or three of cat litter, if you have a dish tub or a paint tray that should be enough for short time. He probably won't get over a high rimmed cat box with his bum leg.

check Trumpy for an abscess or a scab where he is limping. You can rub topical antibiotic on it, it may head off an abscess.

"I had that problem when using a VPN."
That may be it. I've been an internet nomad since cancelling my home broadband a couple months ago. Now I use public WiFi and borrowed hotspots. IP address changes a lot. I assume the site blacklists certain IP addresses, and/or rapidly changing IP address behavior, as trolllish or whatever. Oh well. Too bad. @96 Rufus T. has got it. Somewhere in your normal set-up you're running a "tunnel" and it will fade you out. Look for the switch, and try it with the VPN turned off just once. For a while some time back, I had to cue it to off every time I posted, then flip it back on. You get used to it.

Last week as I was approaching the house I had a black buzzard fly right in front of me and then travel to the back deck. He looked old, and was moving real slow. He stayed on our deck railing for over 3 hours.
I can't seem to download his picture from my phone. My reference Birds of Kansas notes that no black buzzard has been seen even near my county ever. Their records go back 140 years. Totally not a turkey vulture, which rest on the roof over my wife at least three times a week. No harbinger there. Posted by: NaCly Dog at September 07, 2024 05:28 PM (u82oZ) 113
