Your fiscally conservative GOPe controllled Congress at work:

House and Senate negotiators struck an agreement Tuesday on a $305 billion highway bill that would extend federal transportation funding for five years, setting up an eleventh-hour dash to win approval in both chambers.

The resulting 1300 page bill, paid for with gas tax revenue and a package of $70 billion in offsets from other areas of the federal budget, comes just days before transportation spending is set to expire on Dec. 4.

The measure calls for spending approximately $205 billion on highways and $48 billion on transit projects over the next five years. It also reauthorizes the controversial Export-Import Banks expired charter until 2019.

86 Morning, Glories!

I see, despite no Vic, we have our share of uplifting world news. And Wednesday is off and running.

I had the strangest dream. I was back in high school, on a class trip to Tokyo, but had no luggage, no cell (we didn't have cells anyway when I was in HS, but whatever), no money, and no idea where the rest of the class was. A cute girl and her brother helped me out, so it wasn't all bad.

Probably the pepperoni pizza I had late last night.

Closing off Russian access to the Med is stupid, and TFG is hopefully saying so to his buddy Erdogan.
Posted by: MTF

Screwing with Russia plays on the specter of an external threat; a non-islamic threat. So the thug Erdogan gets to play strongman.

In the short term, unless Russia tried to roll in and over, he gets to sit pretty. my guess still is that Kurdish separatists will start getting help from Russia. Even then, Erdogan will play that off and hide behind that.

NATO will then be in the position of a member nation being attacked, and none of them have any interest in abiding by their commitments.

Long term, this will get extremely ugly.

Which could be why the Donks are whipping up the race hate to try to maintain their hold on the Black vote since team evil seems to be casting its lot with gays and illeagals.

The vast overwhelming majority of Blacks are Chtistian, have greater antipathy to homosexuals than whites and are taking it in the shorts by the invasion of illeagals and mass immigration as a whole.

This is what a natural Conservstive constituency looks like.

A Berkeley woman who lost her legs when she fell through a gap on a railway platform in Austria and was hit by a train cant sue the railroad in the United States, where she bought her ticket, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday. Carol Sachs was injured by a state-owned train in Austria, so thats where she needs to file her lawsuit, the justices said.

A federal appeals court in San Francisco* ruled two years ago that Sachs could sue OBB, the Austrian national railroad, in a U.S. court because the railroads duty to treat its passenger with care arose from the commercial relationship it had established with her in the United States. But the Supreme Court said Sachs lawsuit, and the claims she would have to prove to win her case, were based on events that occurred abroad.

We could do away with all the massive federal spending (and massive volumes of federal regs) on things like health care, education, housing and urban development, and all the other areas where the feds have no constitutional business being.

I don't have them handy, but it brings up a good point which I have mentioned before.

In Chicago, you have a better then 80% chance of surviving a shooting.

In Baltimore, last time I checked a few weeks ago, it was somewhere around a 68% survival rate.

Baltimore shootings are statistically far deadlier.

I would rather the family keep the money and do great things with it. Yes, you're going to have liberals in the family, but then again, you'll get some conservatives too. With a foundation, it's almost a 100% bet it will turn liberal within a few years of the benefactor's death.

322 Yeah, Trump is sure to win! Don't you guys remember how many of the same prognosticators were absolutely sure Christine O'Donnell would win - and they were so right about that. Wishing makes it so!

In contrast, the GOP Establishment has a perfect record of picking winners. Like:

Senator Connie Mack (R-FL)
Senator Scott Brown (R-NH)
Senator Denny Rehberg (R-MT)
Senator Carly Fiorina (R-CA)
Senator Teri Land (R-MI)
Senator Tommy Thompson (R-WI)
Senator Rick Berg (R - ND)

And of course, Presidents McCain and Romney.

Yeah, what the hell is the point of that supposed to be?

If an organization wants to call attention to spousal abuse, wouldn't it make sense to use photos of actual abuse injuries, rather than silly celebrities sporting "abuse" make-up? It trivializes a serious problem, and it's just another instance of pointless "virtue signalling" by narcissistic celebrities.
