The Morning Report - 1/11/22

hodgkdisease.jpg

Good morning, kids. Tuesday and fair warning; if you don't want your BP to spike and give yourself an aneurysm, you probably should not read today's report. Meh, you can say that about any morning, I suppose, but this morning's selection is particularly rage inducing.

"Congress and our Nation marked the first anniversary of one of the darkest days in America history yesterday: the January 6 insurrection, the day American democracy was nearly lost," said Durbin.

"That day, an embittered, defeated President Trump sent a murderous mob to attack this Capitol and overturn the election he had lost," he said.

Considering the filthy sewer from which this abject lie emanated this has got to be one of the most egregious examples of chutz-pocrisy in years. And that's saying something given the nature of the anti-American Left where being a hypocrite is merely par for the course. Regular readers surely know why this statement is an outrage but given the nature of the agitprop media to either obfuscate harmful and damning news about their preferred players or embargo it altogether, others may not be wholly aware (it dovetails nicely with the Twitter smackdown by Mary Katherine Hamm of this same issue Ace covered yesterday).

Democratic Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin's office will not release reported email correspondence with anti-GOP shooter James Hodgkinson.

An Associated Press report says, "Hodgkinson also visited the office of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, whose campaign he had worked on as a volunteer, and was in email contact with the two Democratic senators from his home state."

The "two Democratic senators from his home state" of Illinois would presumably be Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth.

When The Daily Caller reached out to Sen. Durbin's office, we received this comment, "Mr. Hodgkinson contacted our office to state his opinion on a variety of legislation over the years. Those emails were all given to USCP and are part of the current investigation."

When TheDC asked for more details, or whether they planned to publicly release the emails Hodgkinson sent, no response was received. . .

. . . Hodgkinson, a left-wing Bernie supporter, allegedly opened fire on a group of GOP Congressman practicing at a baseball field. He shot and injured Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise, and his social media presence indicated he thought Trump was a "traitor."

Nearly five years later and we still have no idea about the connections between Durbin, Duckworth, Sanders and Hodgkinson. And it's obvious from who the players are that we'll never know. Is it tinfoil hat conspiracy nuttery to think that Durbin et al had an extremely close relationship with the terrorist or, in fact, sanctioned the hit? Given everything we've been through since 2020, it's not that far-fetched. The Democrat Party fanned the flames of mass civil unrest in the wake of criminal George Floyd's death while resisting arrest, resulting in the mostly peaceful Dresdenization of several dozen urban areas; billions in death and destruction all so that they can cast the blame on President Trump. These people are evil.

While Dick Durbin had the gall to open his filthy sewer in the well of the Senate to blood libel Trump and all of us who voted for him and screamed bloody murder about a provably compromised and IMHO stolen 2020 election, the unkindest cut of all was that not one Republican Senator had even the slightest scintilla of backbone and character to stand up, walk over to that sagging blob of halitosis and belt him in his teeth. NOT. ONE. Hell, at least stand up and shout some sort of objection, the rules, decorum and all that rot be damned. Meh, with stalwart defenders of the Constitution like Ted Cruz, who got taken to the woodshed by TuCa for likening the legitimate protesters as terrorists and furthering the blood libel, who needs Durbin?

But wait! There's more!

Have you ever wondered what disgraced former deputy FBI directors do after trying to stage a coup and lying under oath? Apparently, they give talks about "protecting democracy" at top-rated institutions of higher learning. Indeed, this last Thursday the University of Chicago invited former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe to join a panel of partisans to discuss the Jan 6 "insurrection."

McCabe was fired as the deputy FBI director for leaking sensitive information about an investigation into the Clinton Foundation and then lying about it under oath. He also took part in spying on the Donald Trump campaign through a secret warrant granted by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court.

The dossier he used to obtain the surveillance warrant was funded by Hillary Clinton's campaign and, in an ironic twist, was itself the product of Russian disinformation. McCabe and his allies in corporate media justified all sorts of similar illegal and undemocratic tactics to discredit and attempt to unseat President Trump.

Of course, neither the University of Chicago nor McCabe acknowledged the irony in him discussing the integrity of "democracy" in America on Thursday evening. In fact, what McCabe said at the University of Chicago event on Jan. 6, 2022 is even more shocking than his invitation to speak in the first place . . .

. . . according to McCabe a grandma who shares a Federalist article on Facebook and your uncle with a "Let's Go Brandon" coffee mug are in the same category as a jihadist who killed 49 people at an Orlando nightclub . . .

. . . McCabe said moms and dads who stand up for their children's health and education at school board meetings in ways Democrats disagree with are very dangerous. So dangerous that it is actually "essential" we have a "rapid and complete response by law enforcement at the state, local and federal level to this sort of political violence . . . "

. . .McCabe wants to get around constitutional obstacles that restrict the abuses of federal agencies. He explained that the path to granting the feds more power to spy on and punish "extremists," a.k.a. conservatives, is by implementing federal penalties against "domestic terrorism . . . "

. . . Ironically, McCabe's firing for repeatedly breaking the law was expunged from the record only because he settled with a partisan Biden Department of Justice. If no one is above the law, as McCabe claims to support, then he would be in jail. Of course, McCabe is above the law. Only dissenting conservatives, in his view, deserve the suspicion and wrath of unelected federal agencies.

Two sentences immediately come to mind when I consider Durbin and McCabe. The first one starts with "If there were a G-d in Heaven," and the other "It'd be a real shame if." Meanwhile, Ashli Babbit and Roseanne Boyland are dead, dozens of hapless people who made the mistake of being in the wrong place at the wrong time are languishing as political prisoners for doing nothing more serious than trespassing, and the rest of us are being painted as dangerous, extremist and evil.

We're also spreaders of a plague so lethal and dangerous that:

- - The CDC finally admitted that the vast majority who died had serious comorbidities like being fat.

- - - And your body's T-cells that arise from catching a common cold can protect you like nobody's business from getting the General Tso's Sickness.

But stay masked up, injected and isolated lest you spread plague, or worse, anti-Leftist information.

I can't tolerate MSM-speak anymore, but for something to shepherd in "the end of democracy," you'd think there'd be manifestos like the people who plan out school shootings.

I have the Ashli Babbit Society® commemorative T-shirt, but didn't know about Roseanne Boyland. Chris Plante said "Four people died, Ashli Babbit was gunned down by Capitol Hill police, two died from heart attacks and one from a drug overdose." Apparently Roseanne Boyland is the alleged "drug overdose", unless you go to NYTimes and they say that she was crushed in the crowd.

From what some legislators and the family have been saying, she was beaten to death by DC Metro Lila Morris. The DOJ is destroying evidence, the family has been denied the autopsy report and video footage that is in the DOJ's possession, the AG lied to Congress about there being an investigation - so I am going to go with she too was murdered at Nancy Pelosi's direction by staging this theater that required some bodies so that they forever more can characterize the Panty Raid as "deadly".

If the so-called "anti-vaxxer" comes out of seemingly nowhere and hogs the Twitter/radio space, then he is most certainly a Leftist robot tasked with spouting what they think to be the "Right's talking points."

These robots are used to suffocate actual discourse and to drive anger towards the Right, to avoid having to bring up anything substantial. They're custom-made to reinforce the "Reptilicans are too stupid to be allowed to breathe" narrative that the Left uses to astonishing success.

Trump called a peaceful, constitutionally-guaranteed rally to highlight widespread, systematic election irregularities, which the media and the Democrats refused to honestly address.
At the direction of the Democrats, the FBI
1) placed pipe bombs around DC
2) embedded assets in the crowd strictly to antagonize and encourage violence-- even some directed to actually commit crimes to "prime the pump."
3) planted false warnings and gave fabricated reports of potential violence and extremist groups to the Capitol Police and the media.
4) falsified incident and after-action reports, scubbing their actors while directing the entirety of the crimes on innocent Americans.

There's your insurrection.

This time, they didn't get that cover.

Yes, to both. But it's all a matter of scale and definitions. Is a racist also a supremacist? Is a white guy who hates a black guy because the guy is black a "white supremacist" or is here merely a bigot? He's probably just a bigot, and the mid-Atlantic and northeast have plenty of them.

As for white supremacists, sure they exist. Probably everywhere. But scale counts. How many are there? No one knows, because it's not a question you can poll. But there are some clues, and that is in the estimated membership of the Klan and the Aryan Brotherhood. The Klan probably has around 8k members. The Aryan Brotherhood probably has about 20k, most of them institutionalized (prison gang).

So generously, that's about 30k. Let's assume that number is off by a lot because people hide it. Let's assume it's off by 200%, and the actual number is 90k. Let's round that up to 100k. There's no way to know, but it's very likely that the number of committed white supremacists in this country wouldn't fill LSU's Tiger Stadium. They exist, but they're not a real problem.

229 The reason 1/6 is being touted as an insurrection... It's to keep Trump out of politics. Pelosi's insurrection committee will pin the whole thing on him. The entire Washington D.C. establishment hates Trump with a burning passion. He upset the status quo in the city and revealed just how corrupt they really are.

It's debatable whether or not insurrection charges will stick, but I doubt that's even relevant. The media will see to it they do.

246 I'm guessing vaxxed people are a lot more likely to catch the COVIDs multiple times because they are being prevented from building up natural resistance to it. Another booster or six will help prevent (jedi hand wave) serious illness, though.

Didn't the doctor on Joe Rogan state that it is impossible to be infected twice with COVID? Or is it impossible to get infected twice with the same strain of SARS-CoV-2/COVID? i.e. you cannot be infected twice with delta, but can get delta and then get omicron.

And yes, I wonder if what they say is true about the vaxxines -- that they weaken one's immune system -- that this is actually a continuing pandemic of the vaxxinated, because they are vaccinated against the original strain of SARS-CoV-2/COVID, but with a weakened immune system, they are now getting delta and omicron.

Wouldn't that be something. That if we never had vaxxines, this pandemic would have been over long ago, as we would have herd immunity to all variants. But the vaxxines are actually what are prolonging the pandemic.

Is being a "White Supremacist" a binary thing? That is, is there an uncontroversial definitive a list of checkboxes; once surpassing the threshold of marked off items one can safely be considered a bona fide White Supremacist™ ?

First, it is incredibly difficult to get a test. All of the tests have either been horded by Karens who raided the pharmacies, or tests at official testing sites booked days/weeks in advance by healthy people who are required to test in order to work, travel, attend school, whatever. Oh, and don't expect results in less than a week if you do it via a standalone lab, because they are so busy processing all of these unnecessary tests results for all are delayed.

Does that make any sense -- to make it the hardest for the legitimately ill people to get a test?!

So, if you can't get tested, or you somehow manage to get the test and have to wait for the results, then. . . how do you start treatment if you are really sick and/or in a high risk demographic. All of the younger, healthier people have been scared sh#tless for 2 years now and are jamming up all of the available resources. So. . . just delay until critically ill and ER situation?

Generally agree, and that has been my MO since the beginning, with the exception of special precautions for being sick around the risk cases such as an elderly chemo patient. Otherwise, it is common cold protocol. Wash your hands, cover your sneeze, limit contact with people when symptomatic, and freak the hell out, stockpile TP and creamcheese and bunker down for two years. Basic stuff.

Funny thing is... I am about 100lbs overweight (300lbs, when I should be at 200lbs) and have had high blood pressure for years. Yet, I basically never get sick. Last time I was sick was about 5-6 years ago with what I think was food poisoning. Prior to that, about a year or two earlier, I had sinusitis for about a week.

Other than that, I haven't been sick with anything more than a cold for more than a day in my post-college life (past 23 years). To look at me, one would assume I am a high-risk person for illness and a strain on the "healthcare" system. Yet, I haven't been to the doctor but twice over the past 23 years. Weight gain has mostly been over past 5-6 years. I had been around 190-200 through my active 20s, 225-250 through my active 30s and gained the rest in my sedentary 40s.

What eventually saved us was his GP (not his doctor at the hospital that specializes in pulmonary issues) -- he made some calls and the ER suddenly could take him. 336 Wow, the Civil War hit-piece from American Thinker is pure trash. It doesn't really cover any history, but does the very thing it complains about. It gives you a couple little historical snipets in isolation, and then wants you to connect all the dots.

I suggest you do an internet search for Declarations of Secession. Read them. I have. In one state's document, it mentions Slavery by the third sentence. Another uses the word Slavery dozens of times.

You see, for the Confederacy, the Civil War was definitely about Slavery, and their motivation to secede was definitely Slavery. If you read anything from Alexander Stephens, the VP of the Confederacy, he goes on-and-on about how the Confederacy was all about Slavery, even saying, "[The Confederacy's] foundations are laid, its corner- stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to the superior race is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth."

No, it was fought to secure Northeastern and Midwestern Economic Hegemony. It was successful. The idea that slavery was ended can be dispelled by just looking at any Northeastern/Midwestern city's welfare rolls. America has lots of slaves and seems eager to import more. Oddly, all of the new slaves seem to profit directly from the Constitutional Amendments enacted to protect American freed slaves. Funny that.

Its even more ludicrous with the monoclonal antibodies. Because of the Biden Tax which creates scarcity and severe market disruptions, there are Byzantine rules in to which one person is entitled to MA over others.

What ends up happening is that there is a waiting list to get it. And by the time one works their way through the waiting list, they are far past the time the MA should have been taken in order to be effective.

The medical establishment is treating MA like another damned cargo cult. It doesn't matter when MA is taken, it works magic at any time!

355 So, for the Confederate states, their secession was all about Slavery. Secession is the act that caused the North to go to war, because secession is an act of violence.

The Constitution is indeed a suicide pact. You don't have to enter the union as a state, but once you're in, you cannot leave. There are mechanisms in the Constitution for new states to enter, but no mechanisms to secede. That is by design. Adams mentions this in the Federalist Papers, saying that if a state gets all stampy feet over an issue and they can just quit, then the whole thing would fall apart in short order, just like the Articles of Confederation had.

So, technically speaking, those who say the Civil War wasn't really about slavery are liars. It was all about slavery for the Confederacy, and their act of aggression required a response from the rest of the country. In a war, the President's powers are absolute, and so the second lie told that Lincoln did all kinds of terrible things doubly marks the liars for what they are.

And I assume that's industrial or business equipment. This is the story in my world, too (high tech). We are having a devil of a time getting some parts to maintain our customers' equipment. We're making substitutions - expensive ones - just to keep orders filled (like being unable to get a replacement for a matched unit, and so replacing both pieces to ensure compatibility and avoid damage). It's getting worse, not better.

At retail, I needed some furniture last year when I bought the house. The manufacturer had a "4-6 month" delivery window. Now i's "6-8 months." And that's just for couches.

I'm just sick of the Libertarians making this argument that they were told to think by their socialist professors.

Lincoln was not some great abolitionist, and he did not declare war to free slaves. He declared war, because the South was trying to secede.

But once we were in a state of war, he had every possible tool and weapon at his disposal, which was by design. Adams said as much in the Federalist Papers - that to limit the president's powers in time of war would be to "hand the blueprint of our destruction to our enemies."

So, people can opine however they'd like, but they can't just lie and make up BS about what happened.

Civil War - fought over Slavery. Lincoln - single-handedly welded the country back together after Slavers tried to rip it apart.

My grandad hated blackbirds, because they ate corn out of the fields. So in the summer late afternoons he would give my brother and I a couple little .410's and we'd go blast away in the cornfield. Pretty sure I didn't hit any but it was a lot of fun.

Posted by: insurgens ad opus at January 11, 2022 09:12 AM (f837j)

This statement is definitely not true. And, I am shocked that anyone would believe it or want it to be true. Certainly, during war-time some things are allowed by the Courts that would not be allowed in non-war times, which makes some sense. But to claim the President's powers are absolute - is nonsense. What - no more congress - no more Supreme Court - no more Bill of Rights?

So, if congress declares war the president can call himself emperor for life and disband congress and nothing can be done?

that one sentence indicates that you are not very well educated on the constitution or history.

451 "Dr. Rochelle Walensky Says 75% of Chinese COVID Deaths Occurred in People With Four or More Comorbidities"

Why are we treating this like it's some sort of a major "gotcha" headline? Anyone that's been paying attention has heard them say this, repeatedly. Fauci said it early in the pandemic. It's been pretty much common knowledge.

The issue is, and always has been, "how do we deal with that?" If we don't want to just say "well, he had co-morbidities, so fuck him, let him die", then we have to do something to try and slow the spread, stop the spread, etc. I, personally, am not willing to just "write off" anyone who isn't perfectly healthy as expendable, and neither is anyone else.

We're acting like this is some admission that they haven't been admitting all along, but it isn't. The part where we diverge, the part that is being argued, isn't whether COVID is dangerous enough to the healthy to justify these measures (it isn't), the part being argued is "how do we go about protecting the vulnerable?"

Because protecting the vulnerable is the humane, moral, Christian thing to do.

Posted by: Goober at January 11, 2022 10:18 AM (Hgvgt)

452 So, to continue, where we diverge is whether or not it's necessary to enact quarantines against everyone in order to protect the vulnerable, or whether we can quarantine the vulnerable and let everyone else live a normal life.

THAT is the issue at hand. It always has been.

Stop acting like the CDC/NIH just changed their opinion on this, because they haven't.

Are there idiots in the general population treating COVID like it's an existential threat to everyone? Yes. But that has never been the stance of CDC/NIH. It's always been accepted and admitted that COVID is generally not a huge risk to the otherwise healthy.

But we have literally MILLIONS of people in the US alone with co-morbidities that we can't just "write off" because it's too inconvenient for us to do anything. I promise that many of the people that post here are in that cohort (or am I wrong in assuming that there are plenty of overweight boomers posting on here?)

So, TLR, pretending this is a "gotcha" is just a strawman of the CDC/NIH's position.

Posted by: Goober at January 11, 2022 10:24 AM (Hgvgt)

453 "Whenever someone tells me something other than violence, is violence, I have to say hmm."

I agree with you. Violence is violence. Anything else being called "violence" is just someone trying to justify throwing the first punch by claiming someone else "symbolically" did so, first.

However, in the War Between the Various States, the first ACTUAL VIOLENCE was committed by the Southern States. This is not in question. Who built up their army first? The South. Who fired the first shots? The South (they violently seized Federal property defended by Federal troops throughout the South, and began firing on Sumter)

Also, the arguments about tariffs, State's Rights, etc, are all a red herring. There's miles of historical documentation, by historians from both the South and the North, backing up that the Tariffs weren't the reason for secession. This comes straight from the mouths of the people who chose to secede, it's not an opinion. The South also had very selective ideas on "state's rights" as well. They were fully against the Northern State's Rights to pass fugutive slave protection laws, and fought in congress to remove it.

Posted by: Goober at January 11, 2022 10:39 AM (Hgvgt)

454 So the South wasn't really all that much of a proponent for "State's Rights" when those rights went against their own interest.

And really, what "State's Right" were they fighting to preserve?

That's correct.

The South were without question in the wrong, morally, were the original aggressors in the conflict, and all this "tariffs this, and State's Rights that" arguing is simply "Lost Cause" post-hoc moralization.

The "muh tariffs" argument is as old as time, it's not a new argument, but it's been solidly debunked by historians. The "muh State's Rights" argument is likewise BS, because the South is on record not giving a FUCK about any other State's rights, just their own interest.

They wanted to keep slaves. They fought a war over that. Full stop.

Oh, and the argument that "only 10% owned slaves, why would they all fight a war over it?" argument falls flat, too. History is replete with examples of peasants fighting for the nobleman's cause, either out of force/coercion, or out of misguided patriotic fervor sprung from propaganda.

I here ya. To say that war was complicated is an understatement. I am posting on a phone so expect lots of typos.

It is true tbe CSA fired the first shots, shots that killed no one. But the key states, the ones that suffered the most losses, did not join until Lincoln raised an army. To put down the rebellion. They saw that as
violence and an act of aggression. If Lincoln had not done that, VA and NC would never have joined. The irony is those
states paid the heaviest price.

459 454. My guess is we agree on a lot. We don't agree on force or coercion. That is ahistorical. The irony is it was the CSA that. Chose the actions that ended slavery and they chose the time. No way the average USA soldier joined to free others. We have history to prove that. The odd thing is it was the South that put slavery on the table, not what is called the North

In the end, two peoples grew to hate each other, two peoples with much more in common than Americans today.

461 Of course we weren't taught the real reason why the Southern Rebellion began in 1861 rather than 1832.

The reason is that Abraham Lincoln was no Andrew Fucking Jackson (Everyone knew you didn't fuck with Andrew Jackson). Lincoln OTH was untested and far too verbally clever to be scared of by the South (who had 90% of the senior officer ranks in the army).

Here's another thing you were taught in eighth grade that just isn't true: that fascism is the politics of the "right". The truth is that Communism, Socialism, Fascism, and Progressivism are all totalitarianist dogma -- fixing society through bigger government. And when society stays imperfect, more government and more government -- until total government is achieved.

Did you ever wonder why they place anarchists on the left? Doesn't make any sense, does it.

The folks who want more government and less freedom for the people are to the right of center. All totalitarianists, move to the left.

We true Liberals (ala Thomas Hobbes) are smack-dab in the center -- just the government we really need. Personal and property protection.
