Too Many Stories - Trump is Hitler

One of our challenges, and one of the challenges for the "other side" right now is that there are so many stories that it is hard for people to focus. Do you ever feel this? Take the "Trump is Hitler" theme in The Atlantic:

It is entirely reasonable to think that this was planned as part of a larger psy-op rolling out over several days to justify violence at some point in time if "necessary". James Carville had just threatened insurrection and nobody much seemed to notice. (Piece also touches on some stories you may have missed.)

But then the LA Times and the Washington Post refused to endorse Kamala, even though she had confirmed that she was running against Hitler.

And Joe Rogan didn't seem to be afraid of Hitler, either. Kind of undercut Kamala's speech and The Atlantic's stories.

Let's be unburdened by what has been, okay wokesters? Let's not boycott Amazon Prime to show that we disapprove of WaPo's insufficient hatred of Hitler! We wouldn't want to be like those stupid MAGA types who do boycotts, would we?

Okay, maybe we could petition them to change their motto to something that doesn't mention democracy dying in the dark. Maybe something like "What can be, unburdened by what has been". Let's go really Marxist!

And maybe Jennifer Rubin could resign.

The Economy

I think the big story for the weekend was supposed to be that 23 Nobel Prize Winners said that Kamala's economic plan was better than Trump's. At least Friday is when my lefty "friends" on social media picked it up.

I have a hard time imagining that all those Nobel Prize Winners really think that taxing unrealized capital gains is going to expand the economy. What an accounting nightmare! Among other drawbacks. I don't know if that made it into Kamala's final written proposal, but her values remain the same, as she repeatedly says.

I'm not sure Trump has completely explained his economic plan for the eggheads. Here's one rundown on tariffs, via the 9/26 Morning Report. A Penn-Wharton analysis is also at odds with the 23 letter signers.

There have been some problems in the past with tariffs. Bush did a steel tariff which didn't work out. But Trump is not the only one for whom tariffs have worked.

For Trump, tariffs have been a negotiating tool, as described by a fellow billionaire. He used tariffs to negotiate the "remain in Mexico" policy, for example. Tariffs were not permanent. Tariffs were a bargaining chip.

The story of the eloquent billionaire who described this perspective on tariffs, is remarkable. He lost a brother and employees on 9/11.

On the morning of September 11th, 2001, I was taking my son to his first day of kindergarten. My phone kept ringing and disconnecting. I later learned it was my brother Gary trying to call to say goodbye. Cantor Fitzgerald was located on the 101st to the 105th floors of the World Trade Center. We lost 658 people that day, including my brother Gary, who was 36, and my best friend Doug, who was 39. I promised to take care of all the families. They became part of my family. Over the next five years, Cantor Fitzgerald gave the families $180 million and paid for their healthcare for 10 years.

Today, the purpose of @CantorRelief is to take care of people who are in need.

The Founders' Notions of the Freedom of the Press

By Arthur Milikh

Editor's Note
As Arthur Milikh explains, today’s journalists are water-carriers for the Destructive Left.

But as the regime they defend expands in power, the tyranny the press champions may one day curtail the very freedoms the profession relies upon.

This essay has been adapted from Arthur Milikh’s contribution to Against the Corporate Media: Forty-two Ways the Press Hates You, edited by Michael Walsh.

22 It is entirely reasonable to think that this was planned as part of a larger psy-op rolling out over several days to justify violence at some point in time if "necessary".”

They don’t actually have the command and control to launch anything that coordinated, even if some of them wish they did. There’s a great essay on substack, linked on X, by a poster calling himself
Bennett's Phylactery. His thesis is:

“We've seen a lot of Vulgar Displays of Power in the last few years (COVID, BLM, Epstein, the steal, etc)
But they never seem to go anywhere, because USG is not a human institution with goals - it is a fungus.”

In other words, the radical Left is huge, and powerful, and invasive, and terrifying. But it has no intelligence, and routinely makes errors that anyone could avoid with even a little bit of thought. (Like nominating Kamala) Worth finding and reading.

Institutionally, official economics has been captured by the Left, along with everything else.

The last time I checked a few years ago, about eight people constituted the official leadership of the American Economics Association.

One white male, for a organization that is at least two-thirds white males.

Economists are able to understand who's paying them to express an opinion and what they want to hear. It takes a lot of intestinal fortitude to pass up a payday AND antagonize people who not only can but will destroy your career.

34 This one guy in Phoenix is not a citizen, but a legal resident. He renewed his license. Then shortly after he got a voter registration card in the mail. He wrote to the elections board and said I’m not a citizen, I can’t be registered. He was ignored. He even filled out a form to in-register. It was never processed.

So he called a local news station and they ran his story.

The news station asked for comment from Maricopa County. They said no comment while they are “investigating”. In other words fuck off and let us steal this election for Harris will ya?

She spoke briefly about how wonderful abortion was, and did not sing, despite claims that she would do so before the rally.

She gave a short speech, didn't perform, the crowd booed and started walking out. But they did get to see Willie Nelson croak out a song or two with his out-of-tune acoustic gee-tar.

84 Krugman has successfully predicted 7 of the last 4 recessions.

My favorite Krugman column was the 2016 one that said that he didn't understand why people were so upset with the Obama economy.

Why, he looked around the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where he lived, and things seemed perfectly fine!

After VA court said the same. And a NC court. And fake registrations found in PA.

89 Academia just has its own interests, they could care less which candidate grows the economy more. Of course taxing unrealized gains would absolutely destroy the stock market both now and in the future. I'd be hoarding gold.

I will say though, Trump has done a shit job laying out his tax plans and telling voters Harris will raise their taxes by not renewing the Trump tax cuts.

Taxes should have been front and center instead of just obvious gimmicks that aren't going to actually become law. First it was no tax on tips, than no tax on overtime, no tax for firefighters, getting rid of SALT limits, now no income taxes at all. You start losing credibility.

Imagine a world, where people start to think of their money as their money, and that government "services" are only ever allowed to exist... when the people decide to let it.

In such a world, defense secretaries won't be able to fund foreign wars, only the people's representatives will be able to make those decisions, and be held accountable for them. They won't be able to kick funding and budgets down the road, allowing the government to just keep funding itself perpetually.

The stated reason for moving from tariff to personal income tax was to get rid of the partisan arguments over what imports to tax, and make a more even taxation of the individuals who profited most from arguing over the tariffs, manufacturers and millionaires who owned industries.
The unspoken reason was to secure a ready revenue for the feds in the face of international downturns caused by things that disrupted international trade LIKE GETTING INTO POINTLESS WARS THAT ONLY SERVED TO PUFF UP WILSON'S EGO and reward federal contractors who disliked getting paid in bonds and promissory notes.

162 Morning, Horde.

Just read the coffee thread. Some folks are asking what happened to the ONT? I had a call from Weird Dave on another topic, and he asked me the same question. My best guess: a troll using the nic "leb", drifted into Stormfront territory. This was noted at the time by several other participants besides myself. I went to bed before anything else transpired.

163 Trump should have prepared for the discussion about the theft of the 2020 election when going on Rogan. Just four or five facts backed by evidence would have sufficed. His answer seemed lame, "I've got the papers."

Posted by: Mr Gaga at October 26, 2024 12:47 PM (ZtgZZ)

The whole thing started out with Trump explaining the Civil War, which started with him saying how weird it was to be in the Lincoln bedroom, which was his response to Rogan's question about how it actually felt to be President, in those first days.

Sorry to those who don't want to hear this, but it reminded me of Cummala answering questions about her record by telling us she was raised in the middle class.

165 So, if I were in possession of evidence that some fairly powerful and slippery people would rather never see the light of day I think I'd probably be very vague about it.

Until I need not to be. Likely after those people were ensconced in a nice cell down at Gitmo.

The problem is, there were charlatans, some perhaps well meaning charlatans (some not) who claimed they had evidence of the cheat. And they didn't.

So that's the narrative now. Whether the cheat happened or not, they got away with it, because they were better at doing it than the Trump people were at either A. Stopping it, or 2. Prosecuting it after they did it.

And that's why people fear they will get away with it again, because of the question as to whether Team Trump would be able to do anything about it THIS time.

Yea, I get that.

I would think (hope) Trump has "matured" in this area and will take a different tact with it. In the last election he relied too much on politicians and/or politically affiliated people who guided him away from a confrontation.

Early vote numbers, but I can't help but wonder how much of the R/D differential is due to the commies keeping their powder dry until they know how many ballots they'll need.

I'm beginning to think/hope that the pres election is getting beyond the point that any plausible fraud can change it, based on the fact that the Kamala campaign and media seem to be in a state of phoning it in otlr grasping at straws. But the down ballot races may be ripe for fraud.

231 Please - don't tell me she's running an ad - targeted at asian voters - mistaking an italian mob boss named Vincent 'the chin' Gigante as an asian guy named Vincent Chin - please tell me she's not that stupid.

-
Vincent Chin was a Chinese American who was beaten to death 40 years ago by racist auto workers who mistook him for Japanese. They broke his head open with a baseball bat and were given a sweetheart no jail deal.

Considering how much time I spend looking at a screen, it's really worth it. I figure a couple of years from now they will all be OLED and at a much lower price.

235 Going on some lib sites they are all saying they're cautiously optimistic about Kammie winning. They think Ga and Michigan are golden and Pennsylvania will be a squeaker but she'll pull it through. They absolutely don't understand why anyone is voting for"literally Hitler" and are rejoicing because he will be in prison. Next year at this time. They also agreed thst his supporters need to be punished in some form either monetarily by fines (!) Or by imprisonment. That they would actually say this shit out loud is amazing to me. Trump has to win.

About Hannah Arendt:

Some wag once described her "as the world's worst police beat reporter."

She accepted at face value Eichmann's claim that he "was only a little cog in a big machine."

She ran with that in "The Banality of Evil." Too funny!

244 Barron's savvy in helping his dad get on the right podcasts to court the gen z/millennial vote was a savvy move. Bravo Baron.

Will listen to the Rogan podcast today! It's racking up views, good for both of them. Will cement the male vote for him. Hope Kamala has extra wine stored up today for cope drinking.

The news that Kamala, the green new deal queen, has broken the world record for shortest flight... taking one from Andrews Air Force base to Reagan, only three miles... sounds too ridiculous to be true. But I get it, that beltway traffic is murder! I'm sure everyone there wishes they could take a plane to work.

The president described to Rogan what it was like to be president on the first day. He told Rogan a story about seeing the Lincoln Bedroom for the first time, and the story included General Robert E. Lee being a bane to Lincoln.

Rogan said and now they're going to say you were praising Robert E. Lee. The president nodded and said, "I know." Then the two men moved on to another topic.

Recently I was having a discussion with a person that is very religious, and I asked him about the line in the Lords Prayer about lead us not into themtation, but dellver us from evil. I did not understand, as of course God would not lead us to temptation! He said we are led into temptation when we feel that any challenge is beyond the ability of God to deliver us from. It makes sense!!
We will all pray for her.

258 When it rains, it pours... for the DEMs:

Lots of chatter today about how Trump has taken the lead in the average of RCP national polls-- something which is literally unprecedented.*

Overlooked is that the GOP now also leads in the "generic Congressional" vote. The GOP is ahead in that too. Think about it: EVEN WITH CA & NY included, more voters say they're likely to vote Republican. If the RCP generic aggregate of all polls is accurate, that means the GOP holds the House, imo.

The GOP is already guaranteed to take the Senate... unless the DEMs can beat Ted Cruz in TX!

If the DEMs were to flip the House, Trump would have to go fish as far as passing anti-illegal alien legislation. And pretty much everything else, too. I realize the "GOP-controlled" House has been a disappointment to us. But it will seem like the Good Ole Days after 2-4 years of Speaker Jeffries.

*(excepting only the time period between the Biden-Trump debate and Biden's withdrawal)

Every vote is for a Republican. Every Republican is important all the way down to City Councilman and Dog Catcher. Trump must have full community support in order to overcome the Democrat machine.

263 Thanks as always, KT! I just read that Douglas Murray essay. It was really illuminating, a great piece on something (Arendt's quote) that I have never really been exposed to beyond the meaning she intended. In fact I have always found the "banality of evil" to be a deep and instructive idea. Mr. Murray is here thorough and thoughtful, a recommended read.

Adolph Eichmann was many things, but he sure as hell wasn't BANAL!

His rank was kept artificially low, to avoid attracting attention. He was handpicked by Himmler & Heydrich to organize and command the vast SS Holocaust machine.

Arendt attended Eichmann's trial in Jerusalem. She somehow fell hook, line, & sinker for Eichmann's preposterous claim that he was just a minor functionary, i.e., that he was just "a little cog in a big machine."

It’s the kind of thing that has taken on its own life. And it’s like something very special exists there. And that doesn’t mean that I admire it. It’s just — it’s real. And now [Elon] Musk is joining him. I mean, to a lot of people, that’s Tony Stark. That’s the world’s richest guy. And he’s obviously, and undeniably, a brilliant guy, and he’s saying, Hey, that’s my guy for president. That’s going to really matter.

Likening war as an effort to a eliminate a disease the disease being an antagonist to world civility we kill the the soldiers, the infected parts. After the war we kill the agents of the infection, the source, the leaders. It's not new, it's historic. The set up for the execution changes with the politics of the era but it's always done.
