The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg

This is quite a righteous rant from last time:

111 Ever notice the only place journalists ask about how the athletes feel representing is the United States?

Nobody ever asks the Shoa Jing-Wongs of the world how they feel about social credit systems, the racially pure, male-controlled Chinese politburo, the jailing of sodomites, the one-child policy that leads families into getting back-alley sonograms to make sure their fetus has a penis, the dumping of female babies into the Yellow River, the invasion of Taiwan, the takeover of Hong Kong, the subjugation of Tibet, reprogramming of Muslims in slave-labor camps, the execution of drug dealers, the state production of bio weapons, the banning of social media posts, the every-f*cking-example of every-f*cking-unfair-totalitarian-oppression that America is accused of, but not actually guilty of.

Ever notice that?

Posted by: Bitter Clinger at August 04, 2021 10:39 AM (YA914)

I wish I had written this myself. The phenomenon is right in front of my face the whole time and it never occurred to me to question it. Namely, why do our journalists always seem to ask only *our* athletes how they feel about representing their country? I mean, 95 times out of 100 the answer is going to be something like "big damn proud!" so, really, what's the point? I think the answer is that the journalists, being progressive scum, are actually disguising the question that they're really asking, which is:

"How do you feel about representing the USA, a fascist country full of racists, sexists, and white supremacist, and certainly one of the worst countries in the history of the entire world?"

Or, perhaps:

"How DARE you feel proud to represent the USA, a fascist country full of racists, sexists, and white supremacists, and certainly one of the worst countries in the history of the entire world?"

The progressive scum reporters are just telling you who they are. They don't understand patriotism. They don't understand people being proud of the achievements of America. Because they've been taught to hate America, so they do. And I've noticed that sports reporters seem to be much more virulently infected by the 'woke' virus than your average national reporter. I'm not sure, maybe it's the Delta variant (which is primarily found in ESPN newsrooms) or something similar.

A large number of our Olympic athletes are motivated by religious faith, but the reporters never ask them about that, either. Because religion confuses and frightens them.

So when, for example, Olympic gold medalist Sydney McLaughlin says something like this:

“I no longer run for self recognition, but to reflect His perfect will that is already set in stone. I don’t deserve anything. But by grace, through faith, Jesus has given me everything. Records come and go. The glory of God is eternal. Thank you Father.”

...the reporters don't know how to deal with it. It most likely makes them feel all weird and icky inside. They'll hang all over word that proceedeth from the mouth of Megan Rapinoe, but McLaughlin gets consigned to the memory hole. Sports reporting does nothing but emphasize how isolated coastal elites are in their insular little bubble. I mean, if you're a national reporter, you probably should take some times to understand the national audience you're presuming to speaking to. "Listen up, you hayseeds, and I'll educate you" is probably not a winning strategy.

Wednesday Who Dis: Charlie Weber had a part in the later (post-2000) seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Canadian-born actress Mercedes McNab, who had a recurring guest role. There's no record in imdb of Ms. McNab doing anything past 2011, so perhaps she's retired from acting.

74 The progressive scum reporters are just telling you who they are. They don't understand patriotism. They don't understand people being proud of the achievements of America. Because they've been taught to hate America, so they do.

I did a walk through the bios of a local TV news group awhile back. (Yes, I was really bored that day.) The only one there who had any military service was the weatherman who had been a weather guy in the Air Force. All the others were straight out of J school.
And it showed.

90 Not only do they not ask athletes from actual dictatorships how they feel, they ignore those from the US who aren't commies.

The white trash boy on the women's soccer team, the mentally ill monster throwing shotput, the bobblehead track star all get commercials, interviews or little vignettes, despite losing thier sports, but the two (African American) females who won gold in wrestling and hurdles get nothing after they won and expressed thier love for God and for the USA.

The way Gunn builds an ensemble picture ends up feeling like a random series of events that coincidentally ends up at a conclusion. Everyone seems to be in their own little story with nothing but the barest of plot mechanics to connect them to anything else. He doesn't provide these stories with a core, a point. Instead it's just his imagination running wild in different directions. There's a lot of entertaining stuff, but the movie ends up feeling like it's stopping and starting all over the place because there's no effort to tie everything together as one cohesive story.

There are others who disagree with me and just want to laugh every five minutes and end with a host of rats eating a giant space starfish. That's fine. We all have different tastes.

I doubt it's sexual inadequacy, specifically, except insofar as sexuality is "a thing." These people are adequate for nothing. And they hate the world for that reason. 148 "...And I've noticed that sports reporters seem to be much more virulently infected by the 'woke' virus than your average national reporter."

They were infected with it much earlier than the average national reporter as well. I think this is because the nature of sports journalism is based on what the reporter, who is an observer of sports and not a participant, thinks about what they see. This lends itself to these people naturally giving their opinion on things, which very quickly led to them giving their opinion on politics. As someone who grew up reading NYC newspapers, Mike Lupica was the first insufferable sportswriter that exhibited this disease. At heart, these people want to move to the front page of the paper instead of the back page, so more and more of them followed his lead.

Thank goodness I don't watch or read about sports anymore. I do, however, want to get that book about the '72 Olympic US basketball team that got cheated out of a gold medal by corrupt IOC officials and the USSR.

I think both can be true. Its why I don't love Marvel's Avengers as a movie but as an event. I think Squad is the same, the ride is fun and only if you sit and contemplate at the end what happened do you feel empty. But if you stop at "It had aspects that were a rush!", well, you got what you got out of it.

And lol to Will Smith wanting nothing to do with this and him being essentially replaced in the role with a different black actor basically playing the same part (minus being a full dick to his daughter).

It's more like a "Zeno Effect" or the Bald Man paradox: How many hairs can a man have on his head and be "bald". Or, alternatively, when does a man lose that last hair that makes him "bald".

Alex Jones often seemed to be more an embarrassment to real conversation than a contributor. And so, with the ideas being nascent, nobody would argue that *he* had a *right* to appear on these platforms.

It's the sum total of culling what is "extreme" and creating the new "extremes" which makes it more of a mass effect. Once you've drawn the line, then Alex Jones isn't the nearest to it in the window, somebody else is.

This is why I don't believe that Slippery Slope is such a fallacy when you're talking about human analog understanding. It remains a logical fallacy, in the sense of logical fallacies. Because we have gone x far it doesn't make x + h inevitable.

But people have the tendency to act as if "fallacy" is a shoddy argument. (And, in many cases it is.)

it wouldn't be inveitable on the individual level, except when you are talking about cultural/civilizational issues and then realize human behavior, in the aggregate, follows a plottable course, within ranges of confidence. For example, once you get communism, you get mega deaths. It doesn't work well enough on the micro level, but its a reasonable and useful tool on the macro level. The arguments against the slippery slope are, i say, arguments against learning from history, and arguments against experience. And yes. Not only that but the human data points are also *advocates* of *"progress"* toward their goals.

When around SSM time they started saying Black = women = gay rights, I had to ask and what's next to equal gays? That was "slippery slope".

But the entire argument that there is just a "progression of civil rights expansion" to civil rights concerns IS a "slope model". It suggested that you "really aren't for race and ethnic rights" if you're not for women being seen as undifferentiable from men", so it invoked a model of a "cause" that required you to be for x + h, to claim that you were really pro-x. (The equation of the sexes has been a *disaster*, btw).

if 70% have gotten the vaccine, that would be ~250M ... close enough for government work.

But kinda hard to believe that many already have it, since there is a lot of resistance, including in the Dem union brigades. -- plus if they had it (both shots) six months ago, it is probably waning ... they need more shots, BigPharma needs several more billion in subsidy ... every six months forever.

Utopianism is at the core of critical theory. Most of the people out doing the PR work don't bother with that aspect, but the entire premise is incremental change (find a target, isolate it, destroy it, reset the goalposts, repeat) until all oppression is eliminated and the world becomes fundamentally different and perfect.

And this means, by the way, that some people will have to be eliminated. It always does. Whites can't be changed according to a lot of CRT boosters. What does that imply, then, as the solution?

Well because everything is bullshit, they made up the goal of needing 70 plus pct of the population fully vaccinated, they are not going to get anywhere close to that without also vaccinating children.

So now they are conflating the number of doses administered, which stands at approx. 350M and vaccinations, which take two doses for all but the JandJ vaccine.

Again, everything is bullshit.

all cruciferous vegetables, and Brussels Sprouts especially, have a high amount of sulfur in them. (which is quite healthy) If you object to that sulfurous taste, you cannot bear to eat the sprouts. It's also what makes egg yolks yellow and gives off the distinctive rotten egg smell.

348 After you have tried to give this gift of this new perfect reality (because it's in your head), people who don't agree with you must like the old flaws--because part of the point of your genius mind-baby is getting rid of everything that strikes you as a flaw.

And so they must be moved out of the way if "progress" is to be had.

This is why socialism will never be "implemented right", because

1. It arguably *can't* be.
2. It doesn't fit their vision.
3. The main advocates are wrapped up in their own imaginations more than seeing how well "the plan" becomes reality.

#3 can also be a reason for #1.

The red shirted Star Trek character is always killed.
The storm trooper never hits anything.

When 2 axioms of the universe collide, which axiom will be violated?

I disagree. They talk to plenty about their religious faith. But they only talk to progressives, not to Christians and Orthodox or Conservative Jews.
Because being a "progressive" is "transgressive" in this oh-so-Christian world. /eyeROLL/
