Mostly it comes down to the British common law stuff, and whether "natural born" can be decisively understood. Many say it can't but the two I mentioned demonstrate it to be pretty clear. Whether SCOTUS would go "originalist" at this point is not clear, it seems.
It's not nothing ... Democrats would likely challenge in court, as they suggested even before Trump.

Of all those I've only seen MM:FR. Thought it was meh. Great visuals and vehicle design. Casting, writing and acting were weak. The sped-up camerawork was annoying.

First day of the cold was last Thursday. Made the mistake of going back to work last Monday so that set me back a day or so. Feel fine finally today but with a bit of a lingering dry cough and post nasal shit.
So yeah, it takes a longer to heal.

Husband is over it and over the sinus infection.

I watched all the episodes of The Making, and there is no doubt they had an agenda. Just to open your eyes a bit more, Daily Mail has an interview with Avery's first girlfriend, and she has some very harsh things to say about him and the documentarians.

I'm under no illusion that the film makers leaned towards innocent and they left out certain details, but after researching all the counter claims, I'm convinced that the nephew, Brendan, should be released immediately based on the way the confession was obtained and the total lack of evidence.
The big question is what to do with Steven Avery. I believe that if we are going to have a country of laws, he should get either a new trial or be released. We cannot allow police and the DA to plant evidence, even if he did kill the girl.
Better to let one murderer free than to give the authorities the ability to frame whoever they want.

I saw it as a boko haram thing. Empowerment against African islam with child warriors and abducting "wives". Not western womans' plight. As an action movie it was groundbreaking. The amount of non-CGI was great to see. A return to some serious stunt work. And the cinematography was also new. You probably didn't notice it but every shot put the main character center frame. This made it much easier to follow the very complicated sequences and kept them from becoming a jumbled mess. Plus, all the vehicles in the film were hand built from junked vehicles and ran - at high speeds. That in itself is pretty remarkable.

Just saw it last night. I happen to love Tom Hardy and didn't enjoy his performance, but I didn't find it distractingly bad. He wasn't loathesome enough but he WAS dangerous, and I think it worked.
Inaritu and his magical realism are fantastic. The movie was a succession of paintings, and the presence of the natural world throughout was pretty cool. I also happen to believe Native Americans are the most with-it people, spiritually, in the history of mankind, without the corollary that we don't deserve to live here, and enjoyed seeing a plain, direct portrayal of them without heavy editorializing. The scene where Leo's bison-munching friend built a fire in a hurricane may have been my favorite scene.
Mostly I'm glad I live in a house.

IIRC, Eve Enseler of "The Vagina Monologues" fame was a consultant on the film to make sure it had a feminists tone. While I didn't find the movie particularly feminists, other than, you know, Mad Max needing to be saved/partnered by Charlize's character, I'm betting that there was a whole feminists subtext in there around women owning their own fertility/breaking free from the (warlord) patriarchy blah blah blah that I'm just not attuned to (thankfully).
I see the nominations as an endorsement of this conscious bowing to feminists by the director.

I understand that, early in a career it could be a factor (in choosing movies\roles - i meant more side stuff), later in a career though... take the money. Like I said though there are exceptions to the rule, like I doubt cpt.kirk would take some ISIS money to do a commercial.
