2 Good Morning Morons. Today is Tuesday, November 17, 2015. On this day in 1997 in Luxor, Egypt, 62 people were killed by six muzzie terrorists outside the Temple of Hatshepsut, known as Luxor massacre. The Swiss Federal Police later determined that bin Laden had financed the operation. So when Clinton was offered Bin laden he should have jumped on the chance. Of course this crap never showed up at the 9-11 Commission, which in my opinion was a whitewash of epic proportions.

3 AP/Fox article says the French have hit ISIS targets in Syria a second time. Also thrown in, probably by AP, that it was coordinated with the US and that the US had tried to target one of the terrorists previously but could not find him. I see this as pure BS propagated by the administration to try and paper over Obama hemorrhaging cuts from that disastrous press conference.

6 17 States have now told Obama no phony "refugees" from Syria. I am disappointed that Nikki Haley has not added SC to that list. And I note that Fox is still calling them refugees when in reality most are not from Syria and almost all of them are just welfare benefit seekers. (update below)

All of the States that have been mentioned have told Obama not only no but hell no. But refusing to release brings rise to what has the pentagon said that he doesn't like? Like, this move is illegal maybe?

30 Stupid college students want a free lunch but can't quite grasp who will pay for lunch. And no, Milton Friedman is not the one who coined the phrase "there's no such thing as a free lunch". The first reference to it came in 1942 responding to a statement made by Henry Wallace about "winning the peace".

Paul Mallon, a Washington journalist, responded to Wallace's article with a critical piece, published in several US papers, including The Lima News, January 1942: "Mr. Wallace neglects the fact that such a thing as a "free" lunch never existed. Until man acquires the power of creation, someone will always have to pay for a free lunch.

Also Robert Heinlein in one of his best novels popularized the phrase with his acronym TNSTAAFL in 1966.

Defending Our Borders

Following comments on AoS yesterday, I was amazed and amused to watch as states were added, by ones and twos, to the growing list of invasion refusers. Texas was an early entry, Kansas came in late (although I see it's not reflected in the map linked by Vic above). I kept wondering, but what about my Governor, between the two?

America's Last Frontier
…When the shotgun fired, they thundered across the line on horseback, mule, bicycle, and foot; in wagons; and even inside, outside, and on top of trains churning in from Texas and Kansas. Some got land, but most didn't. There were fistfights, shootouts, and court battles. Many sneaked in early and claimed some of the best 160-acre tracts and town lots. 55 Spiritual Matters Department

Ah, as I figured, Vic covered this one already, with the same quote I was going to use.

Yale Prof: All Religions the Same

Sure, all alike. Except little trivial things like, Christianity says No Greater Love than to lay down one's life for one's fellows and Judeo-Christianity is commanded to give true witness, while Islam says Kill the Infidels and lying is fine and dandy. Completely indistinguishable in doctrine. And consequences. Yup.

56 I wish they'd give more details when someone dies.

It's always "He lost his fight with pancreatic cancer and died"

How long was the fight? How did he fight it?

Where did he go to get treatment?

I think the living are owed this information but for some reason families think it's proprietary. And the Hospitals and Doctors CAN'T tell you.

We'd all have a better idea what the risks are (to some degree) and what the odds are.

I know Pancreatic cancer is usually a killer.

But is it or only certain kinds that aren't found soon enough? Like Brain cancer. That can kill unless it's found before it gets too entangled or spreads elsewhere.

I'm at an age where that sort of information would be a big help to ease my mind. Or maybe not.

61 Actually, the largest difference between Islam and Christianity is that Christianity has been hashed and rehashed and fine tuned over the years and most of the really bad stuff has been either discredited or removed or reinterpreted because of the damage it did.

Where as Islam has thousands of separate little sects each run by an Imam who's the final arbiter FOR THAT SECT. And although there are Koranic scholars, they don't have a lot of power to stomp down on the blood thirsty and vile.

And until Islam self criticizes itself, we'll have nothing but this.

Hirsi goes on about this. She's quite correct.

83 The Saudis could take some of these 'refugees' but guess what? They would apply a religious test.

Just what the hell is so 'humanitarian' about separating someone from their home and family and transporting them halfway around the world? Local issue, local solution. Islam is the cause of their problems, let Islamic countries (I believe there are 57 of them, by the way) create a humanitarian solution. If that is even possible in that religion.
_________________________

Yes, these so-called "Syrian refugees" are almost all middle-east Muslims, so they should be re-settled in middle-east Muslim lands, not in the U.S. or Europe.

As for the religious test, the Saudis probably just want to make sure that the people they take in will be compatible with their own population -- hardly an unreasonable concern.

I'd favor a religious test (of sorts) here too. Why not give preference to the Christian, Jew, and Yazidi refugees, since they are the ones most at risk, and they are also the ones least likely to ever find a welcoming refuge in a middle east Muslim country.

After all, it's not as if we never give special government preferences and favors to certain ethnic groups here in the U.S.

If Barry Obama thinks favoring Christian or Jewish or Yazidi refugees would be "unfair," just tell him it's a form of Refugee Affirmative Action.

86 This is how I feel about Obama and his family. If I saw a group of ISIS fanatics in the process of publicly beheading him while raping his wife and daughters, and I had the power to stop them...I would not do so. He has made it clear since before his first inauguration that he hates people like me for my race, gender and sexual orientation. Well, I don't guess he should be surprised that I reciprocate the feelings in spades.

What sympathy I have for anyone in the U.S. Government at this point is reserved for those in the military who have the sad misfortune to have this traitorous, bastard son of a whore as their commander in chief. THEY have my sympathy. Obama and the rest of them? I wish them nothing but ill. He is not my president and he never has been.

The hell he didn't. Six hundred thousand Italian-Americans were interned during WW2. For some reason, "History" has papered this over, but it was much bigger and more "intrusive" than the camps of the Japanese.

German-Americans, and the Lutherans in particular, had their turn in the barrel during WWI, and everybody whose background might be the least bit suspect -- German-named, Italian-named, and you know the "Go For Broke" 442nd -- was extra anxious to sign up and serve, to avoid anyone thinking the wrong thing about them, their family, or their community. Yes, Mennonites included.

There are patriotic muslims serving in the US military, and have been for a long time. But wouldn't you expect every single moderate imam to be basically running an Army recruiting center? Everybody else did.

112 As far as I understand it, you can be gay and still be a priest as long as you're not acting on it-that celibacy is required whatever your orientation. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I believe that is the theology. A RC can correct me if I'm wrong I am not familiar with this particular man. Mine was just a general comment. 116 But garbage man, flight attendant, actor or school bus driver-If you have a genuine call to the priesthood,a love for Christ and the church and desire to serve the priesthood needs men in that capacity. So that was the point of my comment about flight attendants. If he wanted to go into the priesthood specifically and primarily so that gays would be ordained than that is IMO wrong.

ISRAEL OUTLAWS ISLAMIST GROUP FOR LINKS TO TERRORISM AND INSTIGATING MUSLIM VIOLENCE

The Israeli government has banned the radical northern branch of the Islamic Movement for its alleged ties to terrorist groups and for inciting a recent wave of Arab violence in Israel.

Israeli Defense minister Moshe Ya'alon issued an edict forbidding any activity linked to the movement led by Sheikh Raed Salah after the national security cabinet outlawed the organization in a meeting late Monday night.

"Any person who belongs to this organization or who provides services to it or who acts within its framework is henceforth committing a criminal offence punishable by a prison sentence," according to a statement from the Israeli Security Cabinet released early Tuesday.

The decision also allowed for the seizure of the organization's property and law enforcement officials lost no time in implementing the ruling. Police have already raided more than a dozen of the movement's offices around the country, confiscating computers, files and funds and freezing their bank accounts.

EXCLUSIVE - U.S. WARNED BY EX-MOSSAD CHIEF: TIME FOR ARMED GUARDS AT CAFES, MALLS AND CLUBS

Shavit stated that the U.S. and Europe should utilize the Israeli model of fighting terrorism, which consists of three main elements:

- Intelligence. "The more intelligence you have, the smaller the threat you will have to face," said Shavit. "And because of that, any investment in improving intelligence is worthwhile and proves itself every time."

- Defense: "The Israeli strategy consists of guards at each and every mall, train station, and so on and so forth," he said.

- Offense: Take the war directly to ISIS strongholds, perhaps by aiding Kurdish and moderate Sunni Arab ground forces with airstrikes."My advice, if asked, is to develop a comprehensive strategy consisting first and foremost of good intelligence and then the right balance between offensive and defensive measures," said Shavit. He also criticized the Western powers for failing to adequately arm the Kurds.

I don't think what you've done before you decide to become a priest, or a reverend or a whatever you call it is as important as what you do afterwards. I'm not suggesting that a extra scrutiny and more thorough investigation shouldn't be applied but generally speaking we are better off judging folks based on their behavior and actions after they've confessed and accepted Christ.

Its probably worth noting too, that if you do become a priest or a reverend or a whatever you call them, and you betray that trust, the penalty is a lot more harsh.

Just my opinion though, YMMV.

221 And didn't it occur to these idiots that if his older sister is getting a lot of attention as a beauty queen that maybe the reason the little boy "wants to be a girl" is because he wants the attention she's getting, and that maybe-just maybe-you could say, "Well, yes, she's a very atrtriactice girl, but let's find something else you could enjoy and be good at. You're not a girl"

I guess having a beauty queen and a transgender five year old is better for a reality show.

Uggh.

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at November 17, 2015 08:20 AM (No/ki)

222 Why these people decide that a five year old always knows exactly what is good and right is beyond me. He's a KID.

It's not about the kid, it's about their own egos and need for attention. A parent who trots out a "transgendered" kid is saying, "Look at me! Look at how accepting I am! Aren't I fantastic?"
Posted by: V the K at November 17, 2015 08:12 AM (O7MnT)

This has been bothering me for years. (and I know I repeat myself)

But, the media, commercials, tv shows, movies have been promoting children as being smarter than their parents for years (decades?) now.

And parents are raising their kids as equals - as adults. This was a wave of "philosophy" that hasn't been tamped down. They allow them in on adult conversations, and allow them to make adult decisions. They tell them how smart they are, etc. Everyone is equally smart, and everyone regardless of age has equal wisdom...

So here we are. I see the parents are still being brainwashed. And acting accordingly.

Prevailing wisdom nowadays says it is better to let kids live their own lives. Do their own thing.

I think parents would rather their kids be weird or transgendered or gay than dead. So, I think this propaganda-created fear is to blame as well.

Classic example of cognitive dissonance on FB. One very liberal (read: pretty much socialist) Jewish friend posts silly PBS graphic about some alleged poll of college students from the 1930s showing them as overwhelmingly opposed to taking in European Jewish refugees. This is supposed to be a statement about Islamist "refugees" from Syria. Brandies-educated guy can't seem to get the distinction.

Two minutes later, the same guy posts, with shock and disbelief, the fact that the Euro pukes are requiring labeling of Israeli products.

330 What was that about it being un-American to not accept Syrian refugees?

May 22, 2015: The U.S. State Department reportedly sent a message to Assyrian Christians that their faith would not be a reason to grant them visas. Breaking Christian News reports a reverend who was trying to help a group of Assyrian Christians escape the constant danger of Iraq was told that the Christians would not be given the visa, though they had received permission to leave from their bishop.

The State Department reportedly told Rt. Rev. Julian M. Dobbs, "There is no way that Christians will be supported because of their religious affiliation."

331 So I've let this sit and stew for a few days...

About 3 years ago, when Barack Obama was elected for a second term, I and many others here bitterly declared that we were now in the LIB camp: Let It Burn.

Our rallying cry was "They made this bed; let them lie in it. Bon Appetit! You'll be sorry!"

We predicted a nightmare, and stated that only a nightmare could possibly wake this country and the West up.

And now the nightmare is true. The West is a fiasco, the economy is a fiasco, our society is a fiasco, etc. Mostly because those who wanted this won.

So here's how I now feel:

I don't wish anybody dead. Even my adversaries. I'm a Christian man, and I know that I need to work on the "love thy enemies" bit... but I am working on it.

OTOH, for those who voted for this disaster... including the victims who thought that Barack Obama and his administration were Wonderful. Well... This is what you asked for. I didn't wish it upon you, or pray for it, and I do indeed feel bad for the suffering that you went through as the bullets and grenades were flying. I feel bad if you mourn someone in this or the next catastrophe. I do not, in any way, relish your suffering.

But: I most certainly Told You So.

For those victims who, like me and many others here, voted and lobbied and pleaded "Don't Follow That Path! Don't elect that man!" I ache for you. I know that I shouldn't ache for them more than those who asked for this, but I can't help it... I'm working on it.

Many of us said "Let it burn." Well, this is what burning looks like.

I am no more pure than the next person. My sins are as grave as yours. My falling short is as bad as those who died, or those who mourn.

So I do not gloat - but I do remind all here: this is what was predicted. You didn't need to be a prophet to see this coming.

It is burning and, as we can clearly see, those who fought against it burn with it just as much as those who asked for it.

Please. If a maniac is trying to kill your family, your primary moral duty as a human being and a Christian is to kill him. You can agonize and feel guilty about enjoying it afterwards.

It's okay to wish them dead if that is the only means by which they can be stopped from doing evil. Not out of malice, but because you also have a duty to love your neighbors.

342 Fen,

You and Freaked are wrong. I said I would not stop it if I could. I would look at it as God using the wicked to punish the wicked. Moreover, with his gambit to bring ISIS terrorists to the U.S., Obama has made it clear he wants that fate for at least some Americans.

We've never had a potus who hated the country before so this character is an all-but-unfathomable worst-case scenario for a lot of people. Many just can't believe they are actually seeing what is happening because it doesn't fit in their frame of reference. However, it 's there and it's real. We need to be preparing for how to deal with the last year of this administration when they will have no compunction whatsoever about doing whatever they want.
