Mid-Morning Art Thread

Wyeth Day Dream1.jpg

Day Dream
Andrew Newell Wyeth

Long-time commenter, and friend, Bandersnatch passed away yesterday.

He loved Andrew Wyeth, for both prurient and esthetic reasons, and we would often talk about Wyeth's work, and his position as one of the titans of 20th century American art. During one of those chats, he gleefully recounted a snippet from an interview, in which Wyeth spoke proudly of the work he had done to render pubic hair perfectly.

We once spent a few cold autumn hours on the patio of a local pub, drinking beer, smoking cigars, and building and tending a fire in the firepit. He was a ferocious competitor and was confident that he was the world's greatest fire builder; a claim I contested. We ended up with a roaring fire and a bunch of empty pint glasses, and I was left with a memory I will cherish.

RIP

The Morning Report — 2/27/24

wishyouherebidenflame.jpg

Good morning, kids. You can measure desperation with leftists in a couple of ways. First, there's violence. Even with a media that acts as both shield and cudgel in terms of advancing a preferred narrative while bashing any strong voices that run contra to same, there's nothing like a Molotov cocktail, riot or even an assassination attempt or two to get the point across. And that seems to be where we are.

The question is, while the violence may be nod-and-a-wink approved of or even actively orchestrated by the Junta in power, will it get to a point where it becomes out of control? My guess is we're about to find out. While each of these several incidents in their own right are worthy of an Ace of Spades flaming skull, the fact that they occurred for all intents and purposes almost simultaneously makes you sit up and take notice.

First, we have a little envelope of white powder, and it is not like Hunter Biden's llello at all:

“It’s just become a little bit too commonplace that this sort of stuff happens,” Donald Trump Jr. told the Daily Caller. “Clearly, if this happened to a prominent Democrat it wouldn’t be tolerated and would drive news coverage for weeks. The media would blame all Republicans and force them to answer for it, But since it’s me, radical haters on the left will largely get a free pass and the media will barely flinch.”

“It doesn’t matter what your politics are, this type of crap is unacceptable,” Donald Trump Jr. continued. “This is actually the second white powder substance envelope that’s been mailed to me. The last time we had this happen, it was during my father’s presidency and my then-wife opened it up with my kids by her side. So, it’s just sad that we live in a society where politics and the left’s hatred of my father would drive people to do such crazy things, but that’s where we are unfortunately.”

As Don Jr. alludes to Ace aphorism #1, "Our speech is violence. Their violence is speech." What's almost as horrifying about this is the fact that the reaction from the Left at best is silence and at worst is to not only wish death on Don Jr.. and his family but to cheer it and defecate on his and his family's graves believing them to be a cancer needing eradication. This is the depths to which they have dragged us.

Case Number 2, and while this one raises an eyebrow for a couple of reasons, it should not be discounted out of hand considering who the supposed target is:

Allegedly, a man named Vasiliev Pyotr Alexievich has been arrested in Moscow under suspicion that he was paid by Ukrainian Intelligence to assassinate independent journalist Tucker Carlson while he was in Russia to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin.

There’s video of Alexievich allegedly confessing to the plot to kill Carlson through a car bomb at the Four Seasons hotel he was staying at. The man was arrested by authorities before he could carry out the terrorist action. .Above, I said “allegedly” because Alexievich’s confession almost seemed scripted. One cannot put it past the Russians to produce propaganda, but we can also not discount these reports as false.

So, okay. Vladimir Putin, an ex-KGB officer and current presiding strongman of Russia knows a thing or two about propaganda, to put it mildly. And Tucker Carlson's recent sit-down with him was less of an interview with interesting bi-play than it was allowing Putin to drone on incessantly as to his side of the Ukraine conflict. But the fact remains that Tucker Carlson is the most prominent actual journalist on the right (his recent foot-in-mouth stupidities about Israel as CBD wrote about the other week notwithstanding). If Zelensky were to take him out, the Dems would openly cheer that as "striking a blow for freedom" or some such rot.

But wait, there's more! Yeah, I know. It's on a bomb planted at the Alabama attorney general's office. Big deal, ho hum.

An explosive device was detonated outside of Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall’s office early Saturday morning, he said in a statement on Monday.

Marshall said that “no staff or personnel were injured by the explosion" . . . The announcement did not say if a motive has been identified or if there are any suspects. . .

. . . When asked if the incident could be related to Marshall’s stance on in vitro fertilization (IVF), Amanda Priest, spokesperson for Marshall’s office, told CNN that media should “not jump to conclusions about a specific issue.”

One day before the incident, Marshall announced that his office had no intention of using a recent Alabama Supreme Court decision to prosecute families pursuing IVF or IVF providers. “[Marshall] has no intention of using the recent Alabama Supreme Court decision as a basis for prosecuting I.V.F. families or providers,” Katherine Robertson, the office’s chief counsel, said in a statement.

In February, the state Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos are considered unborn children under state law and that anyone who destroys them may be held liable under the state’s Wrongful Death of a Minor Act. The ruling has raised complex legal and ethical questions and has sent Democrats and Republicans scrambling to introduce legislation to protect IVF in the state. At least three clinics in Alabama have reportedly paused IVF services following the ruling.

I'm linking a pretty thorough essay right here on this case, in particular on how it obviously redounds, or is intended to redound on Roe, Roe, Roe the Vote! That is, in reality it doesn't but desperate Dems will of course do anything to distract from the disaster of the past three years, most especially that of the erased border which I will get to in a moment.

But in this instance, the salient point is the planting of a bomb at the offices of the AL AG as, yet again, the ultimate expression of Leftist free speech, which given the completely corrupt nature of our justice system, is absolutely inalienable – but only when it comes from their mouths, or from their Weather Underground pipe bomb factories.

These days, the Weather Underground is above ground and, guess where?!

At least sixteen universities are promoting the book “How to Blow Up A Pipeline,” which outlines for readers how to commit eco-terrorism — oftentimes making it required reading, a Daily Wire investigation found.

The book was published in 2021 by Swedish professor Andreas Malm and calls for terrorism and overthrowing capitalism, acknowledging that people will be killed as a result. “Demolish them, burn them, blow them up. Let the capitalists who keep investing in the fire know that their properties will be trashed,” the book says.

Now multiple state-funded universities took classes that were nominally on unrelated topics, and contorted them into courses that read just four books, including the pipeline manifesto and a communist manifesto. At the University of California-Berkeley, for example, students of Geography & Interactive Biology were required to read the book. Instructors Jake Kosek and Paul Fine took what was ostensibly a biology course and transformed it into one on “decolonization.” The syllabus states that the “class focuses on the scientific practice of modern botanical taxonomy as a colonial formation that conditions our modern relations” and how the names of plants “were often forged to be of service to empire-building.”

The lessons across the country suggest that universities’ support for terrorism extends beyond the students supporting Hamas on many campuses. In fact, the book looks to Palestinian terrorists for inspiration, advising that, “As part of the mass resistance in the besieged Gaza Strip in the spring of 2018, Palestinians invented techniques for sending kites and helium-inflated condoms carrying incendiary materials across the wall to burn Israeli property.”

. . . A New York Times interviewer was taken aback at Malm’s willingness to cause death. “It’s hard to think that deaths don’t become inevitable if there is more sabotage,” the interviewer said.

“Sure, if you have a thousand pipeline explosions per year, if it takes on that extreme scale. But we are some distance from that, unfortunately,” Malm answered.

“Don’t say ‘unfortunately,’” the interviewer interjected.

“Well, I want sabotage to happen on a much larger scale than it does now. I can’t guarantee that it won’t come with accidents,” Malm replied . . .

. . . “If I were part of a group where something like blowing up a pipeline was perceived as a tactic that could be useful for our struggle, then I would gladly participate,” he said. “I have engaged in as much militant climate activism as I have had access to” and “I’ve done things that I can’t tell you or that I wouldn’t tell others publicly.”

Ah yes, the old Eggs v Omelettes argument. Funny how proto-Democrat Josef Stalin said "The death of one is a tragedy. The death of a million is a statistic." But that becomes rather an inconvenient truth, so to speak, when the zapato is on the other foot. Here is odious lipid mass Katie Porker to 'splain you:

University of Georgia police arrested Jose Antonio Ibarra, an immigrant from Venezuela who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally, and charged him with murdering 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley. Porter, who is running for Senate, tried to deflect attention from Ibarra’s immigration status.

“Well, I think what a horrible tragedy likes, like this happens, I think whenever we‘re dealing with violent crime, there is a sense of outrage, of sadness and of loss, but I think the important thing to focus on is any one instance shouldn‘t shape our overall immigration policy, which has so many different facets, including economic choices about what workers to allow and how to create prosperity in America,”Porter told CNN host Erin Burnett. “So the situation is tragic and it‘s a loss and it‘s important to acknowledge that, but also to recognize all the other how all the other parts of immigration policy fit together.”

If only that fat slag read the Morning Report yesterday, she'd have been able to adjust her math to at least FOUR innocent women (War on Women!) who were raped and/or murdered by our Spark-of-Divinity boys. And it's a hell of a lot more than that considering at least a third of all violent criminals behind bars are illegal aliens. If by "creating prosperity in America" Porker means fueling the funeral industry, then for sure open borders is great for the economy!

As for that cupcake who immolated himself in front of the Israeli embassy, he has a rather interesting résumé:

If you had told the average person that an anarchist or an airman had set himself on fire to protest Israel’s campaign against Islamic terrorists, you would get two very different reactions.

Unsurprisingly the media led with the data point most likely to produce a favorable reaction. And Aaron Bushnell cynically played the same game, wearing (the wrong) uniform to his Hamas suicide attempt rather than the Antifa red in which he had been previously photographed.

The Washington Post gets around to admitting that Bushnell was an “anarchist” . . . But the Washington Post then misleadingly suggests he was raised in a Christian cult. . . The reality is COJ was a leftist cult that appealed to high-flying liberals.

A 1985 article in Boston magazine characterized the C of J members as a “roll call €¦ from the Social Register and Who’s Who” — executives or children of executives of major corporations, an ex-chairman of the global accounting firm that is now Ernst & Young and former president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, an ex-assistant defence secretary, a former senior editor from Doubleday, family scions of Texas oil and agriculture money, the daughter of a former president of the New York Stock Exchange, a Rockefeller heiress (Isabel Lincoln Elmer, self-styled Cinderella Rockefeller), celebrity Christians such as Jeff and Carrie Buddington, former hippie drug dealers featured in Life magazine…

COJ’s leading ladies appropriated Christianity to found an otherwise generic cult. They were not religious per se until they started to run a faith-healing operation. If you doubt their politics, look at the laudatory New York Times orbit and the fact that most of the critical stories about COJ have come from conservative media outlets like The Boston Herald and Canada’s Globe and Mail.

Who’s the sort of person who would commit suicide in a graphic public way for his politics? Aaron Bushnell was a former leftist cult member who hooked up with anarchist and socialist groups in search of an identity and then killed himself for their approval.

And somehow this guy managed to get into the Air Force unvetted and unchecked. Meh, remember Spenser Rapone, who graduated no doubt with honors from West Point with the Marxist graffiti in his hat? This is the military after being "fundamentally transformed" by Barack Obama. A military that identifies the key threats to our national security as white supremacy and climate change.

Frankly, I'm rather shocked that this Aaron Bushnell psycho didn't strap on a PLO Islami-kaze belt and take out the Israeli embassy instead of just himself.

Meh, that is coming, my friends. For sure that is coming, if not soon then for sure some time this November.

PS: Candace Owens has lost her fucking marbles. Drop her like nuclear waste.

They won't rest."

  • "While several Democrats and liberal activists openly called on former Justice Stephen Breyer to retire — which he eventually did in 2022 — so far, there hasn't been a major push to do the same with Sotomayor, mostly because of the optics of pressuring the first Latina justice to retire. The revelation of her medical issues may change that.  And it's not outside the realm of possibility that Sotomayor, who has recently expressed frustration with being on a conservative Supreme Court, may opt not to make the same "mistake" that Ruth Bader Ginsburg made."

What Do Donald Trump and This BLM Protester Have in Common?
  • “If you’re successful and you’re white males, it’s because of course you were. And if you’re unsuccessful as an African American, it’s both the deck was stacked against you. But it was the overarching political philosophy of my party.” (If we can successfully preach this message, oh boy! - jjs)

Fake News from the Huffington Post: Leftwing Idiot and "Wise Latina" Justice Sonya Sotomayor Reportedly Travels Everywhere With a Medic

The Wise Latina, I'm sure, runs circles around her personal trainer, much like Ruth Bader Ginsberg did (pre-death).

Recent revelations about her health are giving them added anxiety. According to a recent report from HuffPost, Sotomayor travels with a medic -- something no other justice does.

"The revelation comes from newly released U.S. Marshals Service records obtained by the nonpartisan court watchdog Fix the Court, which requested information about security for current and former Supreme Court justices," the outlet reports. "And it amplifies questions that many only whisper about the long-term fitness of the oldest Democratic-appointed justice on the court."

In February 2018, a medic from Grand Junction, Colorado, accompanied Sotomayor on a trip she made to southern Florida, according to the records.

On a three-day book tour with stops in Illinois and Tennessee in October of that year, the Marshals Service incurred costs for "baggage (medic)," which could refer to medical personnel or be a more benign reference to medical equipment in the justice's luggage. Sotomayor was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 7 and gives herself insulin shots multiple times a day.

Both trips occurred after a January 2018 episode in which paramedics treated her at her home for low blood sugar.

In 2021 and 2022, Sotomayor made at least four trips -- to Florida, New York and Puerto Rico -- in which the Marshals Service mentioned baggage containing "medical gear," or redacted a description of "baggage/medical supplies."

Well I think it's clear that Huffington Post is, as usual, making up crap to further their political agenda. It seems to me that "baggage (medic)" just refers to her insulin, which probably has to be stored in an iced bag. Sounds like it's just shorthand for "baggage (medical)."

No one calls a medic "baggage." Medics call Hillary Clinton baggage, but they're not themselves baggage.

Biden: Republicans Like Speaker Johnson Are Worse Than the KKK
Also Biden: I'm Inviting Speaker Johnson to the White House to Persuade Him to Defend Ukraine's Border Instead of Our Own

This is what an Alzheimer's Charm Offensive looks like.

Karen Townsend from Hot Air: Biden says Republican lawmakers, meaning those who oppose giving money to Ukraine without defending our own border, are worse than Strom Thurmond and hardcore "racists."

From Axios:

"I've been a senator since '72. I've served with real racists. I've served with Strom Thurmond," Biden said at a fundraiser in San Francisco, according to a White House pool report.

"But guess what? These guys are worse. These guys do not believe in basic democratic principles," the president continued.

Biden said Thurmond did "terrible things," but "at least you could work with some of these guys," adding: "Time and again Republicans show they are the party of chaos and division."

Jazz Shaw: Biden's inviting four congressional leaders -- two left-liberal Democrats, the Democrat-aligned Mitch McConnell, and Speaker Johnson -- to talk with them about Ukraine aid.

In other words, Biden doesn't think he can pressure Johnson using his own force of personality so he's put together a Balanced Media Panel of three liberals and one conservative to bully the conservative.

The AP:

President Joe Biden will convene the top four congressional leaders at the White House on Tuesday to press lawmakers on passing an emergency aid package for Ukraine and Israel, as well as averting a looming government shutdown next month, according to a White House official.

The top four leaders include House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

During the meeting, the president will discuss the "urgency" of passing the aid package, which has bipartisan support, as well as legislation to keep the federal government operating through the end of September, said the White House official, who was granted anonymity to discuss a meeting not yet publicly confirmed.

Disney Marvel Tells Its Shill Media Simps That It's "Recalibrating," Not-Quite-Admitting It Is Currently a Disaster On Par With Fani Willis' Dating Life

The Hollywood Reporter:

Just over a year ago, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was set to take Marvel Studios to the next level. A new villain was going to be introduced, setting the stage for several years' worth of storytelling. And the movie itself was a giant-sizing of a franchise that was previously modest in scope. Instead, the Peyton Reed-directed movie heralded a year's worth of missteps, box office blunders and PR nightmares. It was all uncharted territory for Marvel, which had steadily been generating box office gold for 15 years.

This is a Modified Limited Hangout. That's CIA-speak for the situation where an agent is captured by the enemy, and his cover story is disbelieved, so he offers a story that is slightly closer to the truth while still being a huge lie. For example, an agent may have to back off his cover story that he's just an oil executive, so he'll say he's really an oil executive, but a friend in the FBI did ask him to talk to someone in the enemy country. He still refuses to admit he's a CIA agent whose position at the oil company was arranged by the government.

Disney is offering the Modified Limited Hangout that these problems started with Ant-Man: Quantumania, the first film of "Phase 5." No, all of Phase 4 was a disaster, every movie and almost every TV show.

They're also trying to pretend this is just about an actor they hired without doing enough due diligence into his character.

But the Disney division is in the midst of a pretty darn good February, all things considered, despite the general gloom that surrounds the superhero genre as of late.

What? Everything they put out is a failure. Did you see Echo, dumped in January?

The Super Bowl trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine became the most watched trailer of all time, with 365 million views in 24 hours. Yes, Disney's math includes the 123 million people who tuned in for the game, which included just 30 seconds of the trailer, but Super Bowl fudging or not, the clip's reach was an encouraging number for a studio whose last movie, The Marvels, became the lowest-grossing in the MCU's 33-film run, hitting just $206 million globally.

Oh, the great news is about possible good news in the future. Which is just like Disney Marvel -- for a long time, they've gotten by on mediocre movies with interesting post-credit trailers. They kept on teasing viewers. "Okay, this movie was kinda crappy, but in the next movie, we're going to introduce Starfox and Pip! Aren't you crazy excited to see Starfox and Pip??!"

Why, no. No I am not.

Next came the Valentine's Day unveiling of the cast of Fantastic Four -- Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn, coupled with retro art teasing a 1960s setting for the movie...

Oh, more possible good news in the future.

Disney's shills in the shill media are now praising them for just casting a movie.

And oh wow, Pedro Pascal. How'd you get him? He's barely in any movies or tv shows. He's almost a fresh-faced ingenue.

A day later, Marvel launched the trailer for X-Men '97, a revival of the 1990s cartoon that debuts in March. The trailer set an internal Disney record as the biggest launch for an animated series on Disney+, ahead of other Marvel shows such as What If ...? and any animated Star Wars series.

Oh another future project. Starring (checks notes) a trans actor.

These public-facing moves come as studio boss Kevin Feige recalibrates the creative direction behind the scenes.

Just a teensy-tiny recalibration.

Early in February, the company completed reshoots for Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, the WandaVision spinoff starring Kathryn Hahn that is expected to hit Disney+ this fall. The company usually budgets five days of reshoots into the schedule, but the studio completed the work in just one, fueling a sunny outlook around the show internally, according to sources associated with the series.

Wow -- sources inside Disney and at the production itself say the show has "sunny prospects."

Is it too early in the year to award the Pulitzer to this reporter?

The studio also quietly hired Eric Pearson to polish the script for Fantastic Four, which will shoot this summer in London. Pearson is a company stalwart who worked on Thor: Ragnarok and Black Widow and has a reputation for taking projects over the finish line.

Wow, he got Black Widow over the finish line, huh? What a credit.

...

Marvel also hired Joanna Calo, the showrunner of acclaimed FX series The Bear, to work on the script for Thunderbolts, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Oh great another female writer who knows nothing about comic books or action movies.

The film will begin shooting in March in Atlanta. Her hiring adds a flair of prestige to the project...

That's what Disney Marvel is lacking -- more insider-Hollywood DEI "prestige." It's been working like gangbusters through Phases 4 and 5.

When a government agency fails, they never affix blame to any actual people or to the ideology that caused the failure. They always scramble to blame the failure on process-type stuff.

Here, Disney Marvel says the problem with their TV shows isn't the writing or the neverending DEI messaging -- it's just that they didn't have Show Czars (aka showrunners) overseeing the productions

On the TV side, Marvel has been reorganizing its operations to allow for greater control from showrunners, a move made after the critical failure of the expensive Samuel L. Jackson spy series Secret Invasion, which sidelined executive producer Kyle Bradstreet after a year, with various creative factions vying for influence in his wake. The show had about 2.5 billion minutes of viewing over its six-week run, per Nielsen, in the bottom third of Marvel's live-action Disney+ offerings so far.

"The focus is internal this year," says one insider of all the tinkering going on behind the scenes.

Execs are not calling it a reboot, not even a soft one, but more of a creative retooling.

LOL.

"Some of our studios lost a little focus. So the first step that we've taken is that we've reduced volume," Iger said on a Feb. 7 earnings call. "We've reduced output, particularly at Marvel," in order to ensure "the films you're making can be even better."

Meanwhile, in the Sony branch of the M-She-U, Madame Web bombed so disastrously that Amazon, which commissioned another female-centric Spider-Man-adjacent disaster, reportedly has fired its entire writing room and given the order to shift the focus for a superhero show to, get this, be male-skewing instead of female-skewing.

Amazon has reportedly fired the entire writer's room for Silk: Spider Society and nearly everyone else involved in the project other than the showrunner, Angela Kang, and one executive producer just a day after the disastrous opening of Madame Web.

Firing the female writers, but keeping the female showrunner, huh?

Silk: Spider Society is going to be the first show from Sony set within their Spider-Man Universe and was put on hold during the writer's strike last year. Originally, the writers for Silk were supposed to reconvene in January, but as of Friday, they've all been removed. With the statement that the show is seeking to target a mostly male audience, the reasons could not be any clearer.

Reacher and Terminal List are both Amazon original shows that were heavily geared toward men and saw massive success. It appears that Amazon is realizing that comic book shows and movies' primary audience is, and always has been, men.

Why does Amazon produce DEI Pageants and Girlboss Exhibitions like Rings of Power and Wheel of Time while also producing male-skewing, quality shows like Reacher and The Terminal List?

The answer is -- according to an unconfirmed claim by someone claiming to be an insider -- that Amazon does not demand that every show be Full DEI, just that their average score for all shows be acceptably DEI.

So that means that so long as We Had Rangz is super-DEI, then Amazon can afford make Reacher for men and hire non-DEI incompetents to write and crew it:

As a result of Amazon choosing to "average out" their DEI accounting across all of their shows over the course of the year, they are able to greenlight a number of lower-budget projects that technically fail to meet the required DEI grade but still contribute to their overall content slate.

Think of it in terms of a typical high-school class: as long as most of the students pass, the overall average grade can absorb a couple of delinquents who fail out. Ironically, it's these lower-profile "DEI-failures" that manage to attract a substantial audience due to their broader appeal.

To sum it up, Amazon has been straddling both sides of the fence when it comes to DEI: on the one hand loudly showing-off its virtue by producing expensive bombs while on the other hand quietly slipping through enough "problematic" content to offset their losses.

While DEI policies can be successful, it seems that Amazon has not yet found the winning formula to do so, and must keep choosing between either having DEI initiatives or commercial success, but not both.

Why has Hollwood been churning out one incompetently written bomb after another?

Who knows, who can say. It's a stone-cold mystery.

But one thing we can definitely say is not to blame is Diversity, and hiring "diverse" people over skilled people.

Because Diversity is Our Strength.

Vice Magazine Will Cease Publishing, Laying Off Hundreds

Vice declared bankruptcy months ago. Its remaining assets were bought for pennies on the pound* by some financial fregans digging through the corporate media garbage dumpster.

While Vice's layabout perverts had hopes they would continue being paid for their phoney-baloney jobs, they've been told they should plan to spend more time with their Portland polycules.

Vice Media Group is making drastic changes in the face of financial difficulties.

In a memo to Vice employees Thursday, CEO Bruce Dixon said the company will be cutting "several hundred" jobs in the next week.

As part of its major restructuring, Vice will discontinue publishing content on its own website, Vice.com, and will instead put "more emphasis on our social channels as we accelerate our discussions with partners to take our content to where it will be viewed most broadly," Dixon wrote in the memo.

What does that mean? To be honest I think it just means they will spam out advertisements on their Twitter feed.

They say they want to "partner with established media." Of course. Bankrupt basket-case companies always want to "partner" with healthier ones, the same way leeches wish to "partner with" a human leg.

They also say they're going "full studio." But this "pivot to video" hasn't worked out for any of these companies.

"We create and produce outstanding original content true to the Vice brand. However, it is no longer cost-effective for us to distribute our digital content the way we have done previously. Moving forward, we will look to partner with established media companies to distribute our digital content, including news, on their global platforms, as we fully transition to a studio model," the CEO continued.

Vice had been evaluated, absurdly, at $5.7 billion at Peak Stupid. Before it declared bankruptcy it was still evaluated at $350 million.

And now? Who knows. I guess Vice media is still on some cable channels, somewhere.

Vice has long been one of the biggest jokes in Fake Media, as this old video demonstrates.

I wrote a Bye-ku for Vice:

Tranny sewing circles
in Lagos
Vice go boom

I guess even Meta -- FaceBook/Instagram -- isn't making as much profit as they want, because they're allowing people to post and sell sexualized photos of children.

David Strom, first quoting from, I think, the Wall Street Journal:

Meta Platforms safety staff warned last year that new paid subscription tools on Facebook and Instagram were being misused by adults seeking to profit from exploiting their own children.

Two teams inside Meta raised alarms in internal reports, after finding that hundreds of what the company calls "parent-managed minor accounts" were using the subscription feature to sell exclusive content not available to nonpaying followers. The content, often featuring young girls in bikinis and leotards, was sold to an audience that was overwhelmingly male and often overt about sexual interest in the children in comments on posts or when they communicated with the parents, according to people familiar with the investigations, which determined that the payments feature was launched without basic child-safety protections.

This wasn't nudity and it wasn't fully sexual, but it was obviously sexualized.

While the images of the girls didn't involve nudity or other illegal content, Meta's staffers found evidence that some parents understood they were producing content for other adults' sexual gratification. Sometimes parents engaged in sexual banter about their own children or had their daughters interact with subscribers' sexual messages.

And more from the NYT:

Thousands of accounts examined by The Times offer disturbing insights into how social media is reshaping childhood, especially for girls, with direct parental encouragement and involvement. Some parents are the driving force behind the sale of photos, exclusive chat sessions and even the girls' worn leotards and cheer outfits to mostly unknown followers. The most devoted customers spend thousands of dollars nurturing the underage relationships.

The large audiences boosted by men can benefit the families, The Times found. The bigger followings look impressive to brands and bolster chances of getting discounts, products and other financial incentives, and the accounts themselves are rewarded by Instagram's algorithm with greater visibility on the platform, which in turn attracts more followers.

More at the link.

Parents are exploiting their children, making them available to pedophiles, and Instagram just takes its cut of the revenue.

Meanwhile, it's hardly any better in the (LOL) "Prestige" media. The editor who edited the Tom Cotton op-ed calling for National Guard troops to quell the insurrection of BLM and Antifa Arsonists in 2020 now reveals how toxic and insane the New York Times is.

He was shamed at a silly get-to-know-eachother orientation meeting.

On one of my first days at The New York Times, I went to an orientation with more than a dozen other new hires. We had to do an icebreaker: Pick a Starburst out of a jar and then answer a question. My Starburst was pink, I believe, and so I had to answer the pink prompt, which had me respond with my favorite sandwich.

Russ & Daughters' Super Heebster came to mind, but I figured mentioning a $19 sandwich wasn't a great way to win new friends. So I blurted out, "The spicy chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A," and considered the ice broken.

The HR representative leading the orientation chided me: "We don't do that here. They hate gay people." People started snapping their fingers in acclamation.

Uptwinkles!!!

I hadn't been thinking about the fact that Chick-fil-A was transgressive in liberal circles for its chairman's opposition to gay marriage. "Not the politics, the chicken," I quickly said, but it was too late. I sat down, ashamed.

But it's Mostly Peaceful Chicken!!!

Leftwing Regime Propaganda Outlet Axios Reports That Donors Have Noticed That Biden Can't Speak Without Consulting Staff-Prepared Note-Cards

Donors, you say? The people who sponsor The Regime's political advertising campaigns?

You had my interest, but now you have my attention.

President Biden has been using notecards in closed-door fundraisers, calling on prescreened donors and then consulting his notes to provide detailed answers, according to people familiar with the routine.

Why it matters: Biden's reliance on notecards to help explain his own policy positions -- on questions he knows are coming -- is raising concerns among some donors about Biden's age.

The president is 81 but claims he feels younger.

The staged Q&A sessions have left some donors wondering whether Biden can withstand the rigors of a presidential campaign, let alone potential debates with former President Trump, 77.

Biden advisers say the president is given notecards only for very detailed and technical questions, and say he frequently does spontaneous Q&As.

Uh-huh. When does Biden ever give "very detailed and technical" answers?

Most recent presidents -- including Trump, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Barack Obama -- have carried crib notes, or used teleprompters, to help guide them through various public events and meetings.

In Biden's case, donors have noticed he's also using notecards in private events.

Below: An Italian TV sketch mocks Biden's dementia.

The Koch Network of Liberal Corporate Supremacists Ends Funding for Nikki Haley;
"No Labels" Official Says They're Interested in Her as a Third Party Candidate

No more money from the Koch suckers.

AFP Action, the conservative wing of the powerful and influential conservative Americans for Prosperity, funded by the billionaire Koch Brothers, has pulled funding for the presidential campaign of Nikki Haley.

In an email to staffers obtained by Fox News, AFP Action senior adviser Emily Seidel said the group did not believe that "any outside group can make a material difference to widen [Haley's] path to victory."

"And so while we will continue to endorse her, we will focus our resources where we can make the difference. And that's the U.S. Senate and House," Seidel wrote.

...

The news came after Haley's GOP rival, former President Trump, clinched the party's nomination in Haley's own home state of South Carolina on Saturday.

Despite the loss, and defying calls to exit the race, Haley has said it's not the "end of our story" as she traveled Sunday to Michigan ahead of the state's primary on Tuesday.

Ari Fleischer believes she's actually making a bid to run third-party as the "No Labels" candidate. A"No Labels" official, Joe Cunningham, admits No Labels would definitely be interested in this airhead bimbo.

Fleischer pointed to Haley's margins with independent voters and the wording in her speech to back up his claims that the former United Nations ambassador may be the ultimate pick for the "No Labels" organization's ticket.

...

On a Fox News panel after the South Carolina primary, Fleischer, a contributor on the network and a media consultant, said, "I've been around a lot of these candidate speeches, I've written a few. That was a 'No Labels' speech tonight by Nikki Haley. That was a speech, when she says, 'No matter what I am running.' When she trashes Joe Biden, trashes Donald Trump, she is setting herself up to run down the middle."

...

Fleischer's comments were backed up when "No Labels" national director, Joe Cunningham, told Fox & Friends Sunday that he's "definitely" interested in having Haley as their candidate if and when she drops out of the GOP race.

"The truth is, we're talking to a lot of spectacular people right now, and we're not ready to unveil those folks just yet," Cunningham said.

Sounds like he's already talked to her about being a candidate for his silly spoiler party.

...

Cunningham, a former U.S. House representative of South Carolina, said the organization won't be deciding on the "No Labels" candidate until after Super Tuesday, which is on March 5. Haley has consistently said that she is staying in the GOP race until Super Tuesday when 15 states, or just over a third of all delegates, are up for grabs.

Surprise! ICE Confirms That the Man Who Murdered the Georgia Nursing Student Is an Illegal Alien Who Was Detained at the Border in 2022 -- And then Immediately "Paroled" Into the Country By Biden

Doing the murders Americans just won't do.

A nursing student in Georgia went out for a morning run. She was murdered. Her head was bashed in.

The killing of a nursing student in Georgia who was out running has shaken the university town of Athens.

Laken Hope Riley, 22, who was studying nursing at Augusta University, went out for a run Thursday morning. After a friend told police she had not returned, officers immediately began a search and found her body on the University of Georgia campus in a forested area near Lake Herrick that includes trails popular with runners and walkers.

Emergency medical responders determined she died before officers found her. University of Georgia Police Chief Jeff Clark said the cause of death was blunt force trauma, but he did not elaborate.

Jose Ibarra, 26, was taken into custody for the slaying of Riley on Friday, police said. Ibarra is not a U.S. citizen and is from Venezuela, but his immigration status is not yet known, said Clark, the university police chief.

Well, we now know his immigration status: he was an illegal alien. He was using a fraudulent green card.

Furthermore, even though he was detained when he illegally crossed the border, he was "paroled" by Joe Biden into the country.

This happened in 2022. Watch Karine Jean-Pierre claim this is Trump's fault.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed that Jose Antonio Ibarra, the suspect in the murder of a Georgia nursing student, entered the U.S. illegally and had previously been arrested in New York City. Ibarra, a Venezuelan national, is charged with the murder of 22-year-old Laken Riley on the University of Georgia campus.

Key Details:

Ibarra entered the U.S. illegally near El Paso in September 2022 and was paroled into the U.S.

He was arrested by the New York Police Department on Sept. 14, 2023, and charged with acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation.

Despite ICE's usual practice of lodging a detainer for removable illegal immigrants arrested on criminal charges, Ibarra was released before a detainer could be issued.

Diving Deeper:

ICE's statement confirmed that Ibarra was encountered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Sept. 8, 2022, after entering near El Paso and Released on parole and pending additional processing. A year later, Ibarra was arrested by the New York Police Department and charged with acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation. However, Ibarra was released before a detainer could be issued, as New York City is a "sanctuary city," which generally restricts law enforcement from complying with ICE detainers.

Republicans are demanding the border be secured.

Last week's killing of a nursing student on the University of Georgia campus, allegedly carried out by a man who was in the country illegally, has sparked a new debate about immigration reform among state legislators.

Why it matters: Republican lawmakers say they will consider new measures after the arrest of Jose Antonio Ibarra, who is from Venezuela and not a U.S. citizen, in connection with the death of 22-year-old Laken Riley.

What they're saying: Gov. Brian Kemp on Saturday pinned blame for the country's immigration policies on President Biden, and called on the White House to release immigration information about Ibarra.

Congressman Mike Collins, R-Athens, and Republican Insurance Commissioner John King, Georgia's first Hispanic statewide elected official, both called for Congress to pass reforms.

The Georgia House of Representatives would explore "ways to strengthen the security of our state, enhance public safety and act where the federal government has failed to do so," Speaker Jon Burns, R-Newington said.

Atlanta Democratic state Sens. Jason Esteves and Elena Parent urged politicians not to politicize Riley's death.

But CNN claims there is "little evidence" connecting the murderer with Biden's open border policies.

CNN reported there was "little evidence" linking illegal immigration and crime after a Venezuelan migrant was charged in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old Georgia nursing student.

Laken Riley, an Augusta University nursing student, was found dead Thursday on the University of Georgia campus with signs of blunt force trauma after setting out for a jog that morning. Murder suspect 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra had crossed into the U.S. illegally near El Paso in September 2022 and was paroled into the U.S., officials confirmed Sunday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) also confirmed that the suspect had also been arrested last year in New York by the NYPD and "charged with acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation."

However, CNN repeatedly discounted any connection between the suspect's immigration status and crime in a Monday report.

"Ibarra's status as an undocumented Venezuelan migrant is now being touted by several state and national GOP leaders to support their calls for tighter border security -- though there is little evidence indicating a connection between immigration and crime," the outlet reported.

"Touted."

THE MORNING RANT – Can Blue State Refugees Save Red States from the Woke Assault; plus, Transgenderism’s Lucrative Cash Flow Model

Leaving California.JPG

For this morning’s Rant, I’d like to discuss a couple recent essays from writers I am finding to be indispensable reading, along with a few of my comments on their essays.

*****

Ace linked to a piece at HotAir few days ago (“Demand For Trans Treatments Overwhelming Minnesota Clinics”) about the booming business for child gender transition in Minnesota since it declared itself a “trans refuge” state.

I won’t bother discussing what these diabolical “treatments” entail. We all know by now. But with more and more states banning them, business is booming in Minnesota, where there is a growing number of doctors who are new to this lucrative surgical fad. In many cases, they are doing very poor work, causing serious medical problems above and beyond the normal problems from these procedures.

Interestingly, Jeffrey Carter of “Points and Figures” just wrote an outstanding essay (“Why the Emphasis on Transgender?”) pointing out why transgenderism has supplanted abortion as the core issue of Democrats and their media army of agenda-pushers.

Both of these stories tie together. As always, follow the money.

Mr. Carter is a business and finance guy with an analytical mind, and he points out, “There are ways to look at this without making value judgments about abortion and transgenderism.” While it can be hard to put aside our emotions about these subjects, this does help clarify why the transgender social contagion is so financially beneficial to those who are promoting it.

An abortion is a one-time revenue event, whereas a sex-change generates a lifetime subscription service of medical treatments that cannot be suspended or canceled. Further, the potential market of those who might be a revenue-producing abortion customer at any given time is a very small percentage of the population.

Once a customer is acquired, there is only one transaction. One and done. An abortion is performed and the customer walks away.

This produces on average $700 of revenue to the abortion provider.

This is not the case with transgenderism cash flows. It is not a one-and-done business model. There is an entire stream of payments that come with a one-time customer acquisition.

The upfront, one-time revenue for the surgery and counseling all by itself is much greater than that of an abortion’s one-time revenue, but the lifetime medical costs for a sex-change are especially lucrative.

The real money is in the drug cocktail Transgenders take for the rest of their lives. They will spend $40 to $400 per month on hormone drugs. The average cost is $2,880 per year. If a person transgenders at age 18, the age of consent, and lives to the full life expectancy of 77, that’s 59 years of consistent payments or 708 months.

Carter calculates the lifetime discounted cash flow from the drug regimen alone to be over $70,000 per transgender patient. That is a pretty compelling reason for those who get a cut of that recurring cash flow to want to expand the number of patients needing a lifetime of treatment.

*****

Mark Pulliam’s writing always strikes a chord with me, because he is also a conservative refugee from Austin who fled to the deep-red sanctuary of East Tennessee. And like me, he is troubled by how RINO-infested the GOP political establishment is here, and he’s also concerned that the local citizenry is unaware of the threat to its traditional conservative culture.

Pulliam wrote a recent review at The American Conservative (“American Refugees: Will the influx of blue state refugees into the heartland ruin the country or save it?”) of Roger Simon’s book “American Refugees: The Untold Story of the Mass Exodus from Blue States to Red States.” I found myself nodding in agreement throughout the entire piece.

The Morning Report — 2/26/24

haleyfleshwound.jpg

Good morning, kids. So, Tricky Nikki Haley got absolutely destroyed by Donald Trump in her own home state of South Carolina – after getting trounced in Nevada where she literally came in second to none and in New Hampshire before that. And yet, like extraterrestrial-strength crotch-rot, she persists. Why? Because raging egomania has made her lose her mind or she's being financed to the tune of millions by forces who are out to sabotage Trump's inevitable campaign against Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants and/or the player to be named later that will replace him once his notochord completely melts on live TV. Meh; embrace the power of "and" as the saying goes around these parts.

Trump is inevitable. He is going to be the nominee. And given what Biden and the Kalorama Klown Komintern have done to this country over the past three years, there is no way in hell in a fair election that Trump doesn't wipe the floor with the Dems in as close to a landslide as we can get given the nature of electoral politics, demographics and hinky shenanigans that go with how elections are run in the big blue states. Of course, there is also the massive persecution via kangaroo court prosecutions that will no doubt play some part as to whether he is actually sworn in in a little less than 11 months from now, or not.

Funny how the Democrats and the remora RINOs did everything they could to establish a narrative of January 6th, 2021 as the day that was worse than the Civil War, Pearl Harbor and 9/11 combined, insofar as Trump and his MAGA minions supposedly attempted to thwart Congress' certification of the Electoral College's vote via an "insurrection." I guess they mean something like this, no?

Numerous House Democrats have signaled that they would not certify a 2024 presidential election win from Donald Trump, relying on the 14th Amendment to claim Trump is an insurrectionist and thus ineligible from holding office.

Democrats including Reps. James Clyburn (SC), Jamie Raskin (MD), Adam Schiff (CA), Eric Swalwell (CA), and even House Minority Leader Hakeem Jefferies refused to say that they would confirm Trump to office if he won the 2024 election.

As [baseball cuck] Dan McLaughlin explained at National Review, Democrats could have the votes to sustain an objection to a Trump win if they take control of the House. “Only a simple majority is required, and unlike when the House chooses a president under the Twelfth Amendment, they don’t vote by states,” he wrote. “Unlike in 2016 or 2004, when they were in the minority, House Democrats could be playing with live ammunition.”

Still, a majority of senators would have to object to a Trump win, too. This would likely take 51 senators, and as McLaughlin pointed out, this would be a tough task for Democrats: They “either have to hold every seat they currently occupy (good luck in West Virginia), or take a Republican-held seat (the bluest of which is either Ted Cruz’s in Texas or Rick Scott’s in Florida),” he said.

The arguments, so far, have bode well for Trump. Nearly every single justice, including the liberal ones, seemed exceedingly uncomfortable with siding with Colorado based on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Notably, that provision was enacted immediately following the Civil War in an effort to keep anyone who engaged in an “insurrection” from holding office.

The whole thing is ridiculous but like everything else we have witnessed not just with Trump but every other aspect of our society and culture, the more ridiculous it is, the harder and faster the attempt to ram it down our throats. And at this point, I think it's safe to say that it's being vomited back up with the force of a fire hose, most especially when it comes to the issue of the wide open border – wide open because it has been intentionally erased by the Biden junta to the point where over 8 million and counting unvetted foreigners have flooded into the country. And that "spark of Divinity" that Malig-Nancy Pelosi used to describe these people is burning down the house. Of course, we are the ones that are the bad guys for noticing it:

On February 22, [Laken] Riley went for a morning jog along the University of Georgia’s campus in Athens, where she had transferred from in 2023. When she did not return, her roommate called the police who started a search for Riley.

Riley graduated from the University of Georgia and had started nursing school at Augusta University’s Athens campus. Riley had been an avid runner since her time in high school when she ran cross country in Woodstock, Georgia.

Only hours after Riley left for her morning run, her body was found in a wooded area near Lake Herrick. Police said Riley’s body showed visible injuries. The following day, police arrested 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra, an illegal alien from Venezuela.

Ibarra first crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in September 2022. As part of President Joe Biden’s expansive Catch and Release network, where millions have been released, Ibarra was freed into the U.S. interior with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials citing a lack of detention space to keep him locked up.

According to DHS sources, Ibarra should have been deported from the U.S. in September 2023 when he was arrested in Queens, New York, for injuring a child under the age of 17. Instead, thanks to the city’s sanctuary policy, Ibarra was released from jail rather than being turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

Ibarra is now charged with Riley’s kidnapping and murder as well as aggravated battery, aggravated assault, hindering a 911 call, and concealing the death of a person.

The article notes this woman is only the latest in a series of young women that were or at least should've been symbols for the absolute criminal evil that is open borders and non-existent immigration policy including Mollie Tibbets, Kate Steinle and Kayla Hamilton. You can add to that the scores of robberies, rapes, murders, fraud and other crimes committed against American citizens across the country going back years if not decades. I don't have the statistic in front of me but supposedly something like one third or maybe closer to 40% of all violent criminals that are now incarcerated (in spite of Soros DA attempts otherwise) are illegal alien foreign nationals. That is insane. Yet it is intentional. This is horrible enough, but the moral equivalent of a mass chemical terror attack is taking place that in my view is an act of war.

China’s involvement in the fentanyl crisis “can be found in every stage of the poison’s spread in North America,” bestselling investigative journalist Peter Schweizer explains in an excerpt from his new book Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans. . .

. . . “While we debate domestic politics to address the fentanyl crisis, the reality is that Beijing is deeply involved at every stage of the drug’s production and distribution in the United States,” Schweizer writes, noting that in 2019 the U.S. Department of Homeland Security asked for fentanyl to be classified as a “weapon of mass destruction.”

China’s production of the precursor chemicals necessary to make fentanyl is well known, but Schweizer’s book reveals the communist regime’s involvement in the full production, distribution, and even financing of the drug’s trafficking in North America. . . Schweizer’s findings reveal the close relationship between Chinese organized crime syndicates, or triads, and Mexican drug cartels, as well as the role of Chinese banks in helping to launder the money from the drug trade.

As I said, this is an act of war that has killed to this point thousands if not tens of thousands of American citizens. Yet this never would have happened, or certainly nowhere near the extent that it is happening, if we had something approaching a southern border that was fully protected and guarded along with ports of entry where this poison could not get in. But we don't. And while we can certainly blame the Chi-Coms and the Mexican drug lords, for their part in this, the lynchpin that makes this all possible is the intentional criminal behavior of Biden and his puppet masters. An ocean of American blood is on their hands in all of this.

. . . elected Democrats in Congress are admitting that a primary reason for allowing illegal immigrants into our nation is the need for more bodies, in their districts, to offset those who are fleeing many blue states. Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-NY) is one such example. "I need more people in my district just for redistricting purposes."

Consider: The current population of the USA (about 340 million) is represented in Congress by 435 representatives, which equates to about 780,000 people per district. The 8-10 million ‘asylum’ seekers then would represent the equivalent of 10-13 Congressional districts being settled into the country.

If Democrats continue their open border policies, as they desire to do, then we can fully expect that the number of illegals allowed in will far exceed the 8-10 million we have seen in the last three years. Imagine that occurring for four or eight more years. . .

. . . In the next census, with population being counted, not citizens, those illegal immigrants are going to help determine the allocation and alignment of congressional districts in the House of Representatives. The states listed above are either blue states or states that are shifting from red to purple. Given enough time and a continued open border policy, the purple states could continue shifting in the blue direction.

So . . .

1 - Construct a vast welfare state that both keeps the poor and indigent beholden to your party for their daily existence, while at the same time causing a de facto genocidal extinction of their numbers,
2 - Open the borders and replace wiped out former constituencies with millions of new ones to form a new, massive, dependent, illiterate underclass,
3 - ???
4 - Profit!

For sure, this is now what more and more American Blacks and Latinos are seeing and they're none too happy about it. Whether that anger is based on having their handouts from Uncle Sugar now going to the hordes pouring in from over the border, or hopefully seeing them as actual threats to their lives and livelihoods as honest citizens fed up with the lies of "racism," "white supremacy," "capitalism" and all the other toxic bromides of the Left remains to be seen. But the anger is there and it is real. And it is scaring the Democrats shitless.

In a not unrelated note, that fear is spilling over into other segments of usually solid Democrat constituencies that could have a serious impact come this November:

In America, though, by the 1930s, Jews had made the same journey that blacks did, finding what they thought was their permanent political home with the Democrats. The Republican party was seen as the party of antisemitism and, especially after WWII, Democrats played on that visceral fear. . .

. . . American Jewish fealty to Democrats was strengthened over the generations by the Jewish fealty to college degrees. Jewish immigrants have always had a reverence for education, and they soon realized that a degree was the way for their children to get out of the urban ghettos in which they found themselves after coming to America. At least since the 1960s, colleges have been indoctrinating graduates into believing that the Democrat party is good and the Republican party evil. This has reinforced Jewish loyalty to the Democrats.

And boy, has this loyalty been strong. In 2008, 78% of Jews voted for Obama; in 2016, 71% voted for Hillary; and in 2020, 77% of Jews voted for Biden.

However, things are changing, and they’re changing very rapidly. On October 7, 2023, Hamas—aided by UNRWA (a subdivision of the UN that Jews stupidly love so much given its institutional anti-Israel bias)—raided Israel, slaughtering almost 1,200 civilians and kidnapping 250 more (of whom many are now dead). In addition, it engaged in the most nauseating, heinous sexual warfare against Israeli women. The sexual violence is almost incomprehensible to the modern mind. It was remarkably similar in flavor to the 1937 Rape of Nanking. . .

. . . If Jews were as smart as their reputations, 100% of them would support Donald Trump. Unfortunately, it’s hard to shake off generations of leftism, which is why you have the Anti-Defamation League obsessed with not offending LGBTQ+ people rather than defending Israel or “Jews for Justice for Palestinians,” whose members enthusiastically support their would-be murderers (here’s a great photo of some of those delusional morons).

Nevertheless, there are signs that Jews are finally wising up. Exhibit A is what’s happening in New York. As of now, 53% of New York’s Jews plan to vote for Trump:

The latest polls demonstrate a shift in the New York Jewish vote that is a “clear trend, long in the making,” Sam Markstein, national political director for the Republican Jewish Coalition, wrote on X.

The same article points out that this swing isn’t going to put Trump in the White House, but I still think it’s noteworthy. As I pointed out yesterday, New York’s Jews aren’t the only Jews viewing their beloved party with a newly jaundiced eye.

There are some that think certain things, like politics, are immutable. But as we have seen, times change and people change. Usually they are at a glacial pace but that is not the case today. Events are moving rapidly, mostly as a result of the media losing its once formidable and iron grip on the narrative more and more every day, as more and more people are believing their own lying eyes as opposed to the lying bastards at the NY Times and MSNSDAP.

A sea change is happening if it hasn't happened already. The abject catastrophe that is America in 2024 is more and more being seen as the fault of the anti-American Left and their globalist stooge RINO flunky confederates.

Whatever happens this coming November – good, bad and likely quite ugly – things will not go on as before. They just cannot.

Food Thread: Rice? Lowly Rice? And Corn? Even Lowlier!

shrimprisotto.jpg

Rice is great! And there are all sorts too. There are perfumed rices and short-grained and long-grained rices and all thousands of ways to prepare them. No wonder, it is one of the most valuable food crops in the world (#1 according to the UN). So lots of people eat lots of rice, but I rarely eat it, because my preferred dish is Risotto, and that takes a fair amount of time. And I tend to eat the entire pot and stick my head into the container to lick it clean....

So..why am I thinking about Risotto? Because I had some yesterday for lunch with a dear friend, and now I can't stop thinking about it! And to make matters worse, commenter "Doof" sent me a photo of his dinner last night, and now I have two of my favorite foods on repeat in my head!

doofgrits.jpg

Yeah...shrimp and grits, and a particularly delicious-looking version. He has promised to get the recipe and share it with the class, so keep nagging him until he coughs it up.
