Get Rufus. ISO USB burner (and some other things). A while back, maybe about a month, I forget, I did a clean install of Win11 to a new partition here on my main laptop.

Rufus know some registry shit to manipulate the install image on the USB stick (or the ISO thereof it creates) that will get around a lot of this MS shit, like requiring a MS account, TPM 2.0 and all that.

It worked for me. I got a working, bare bones clean install of Win11, a BIOS install (non-UEFI).

Problem was, I had it create me a user account, regular, non MS account. But, by default, it creates that account without a password. That caused some hiccup. I got around it, but I forget exactly.

Now, it's possible that, one month later, MS disabled whatever Rufus does that allows this....

6 Made it by a cat's whisker!

Evening and morning to all the early risers and late toilers! Compared to Sunday night's fretful and interrupted sleep, last night's was quite good. And payday is coming, so there's that.

The cops still have not caught that escapee, the second-degree murderer and lifer who pepper-sprayed a deputy and stole her cop car. Turns out he abandoned it in a shopping center lot only a half mile from here. I've taken to carrying my pepper spray and told Miss Linda to (a) be very careful where she walks and (b) carry her spray too. With any luck the scumbag will have stolen another car and headed the hell out of town.

7 Yea, I'm pretty happy with Linux Mint. Whenever Win10 stops updating on this laptop, I'll just install Linux Mint. I've read MS extended the no more updates for W10. We'll see I guess. I've been looking at mini-PCs and renewed laptops. I have pretty old stuff. The WS is about 20 years old now (Linux). I have 2 laptops, six (Linux) and nine years old (Win10). They won't run forever but seem to be trying too. The six year old laptop gets cranky at times.

Not an entirely frivolous question. The Supreme Court has been hearing oral arguments in the Netchoice cases involving Texas and Florida laws forbidding viewpoint discrimination by social networks.
Both sides are arguing largely by analogy, so the justices have been having fun forcing them to defend their analogies.

This sounds like fun! Seriously.

16 Is YooToob classed as a social network? I tend to think that term would apply to X, Instagram, reddit, and things like that. To me YT is an entertainment platform. Of course if you log in you can post comments and interact with other users, so maybe it is social.

No, the story mentioned that she still had her own on her belt. They don't know where he got the stuff. They'd taken him to a nearby hospital for some kind of treatment. Then, as they were leaving, he kicked up some fuss in the back seat. She got out -- maybe to make sure he was secured -- and he sprayed her, then got away with her police car.

I work out in my relatively quiet neighborhood early in the am. If he hasn't been nabbed by tomorrow, I may skip my workout on Wednesday, and I'll bring my own spray along when I do go.

Weaponry systems in Ukraine, many of which were supplied by European countries, have been rendered unworkable, not due to Russian interference, but because of damage caused by mice and other rodents. Seemingly, these creatures have developed a preference for cable insulation made of corn fiber over synthetic materials. This predilection leads to malfunctioning electrical installations, rendering the expensive equipment essentially worthless, and requiring rapid overhauling.

Sure can, Parallels works wonderfully on MacOS, but depending on the vintage of the OS, may not be supported, there are other VM's for older mac OS's.

I wouldn't necessarily install it on your daily driver if all you're going to be doing is dabbling and learning.

It's a lot simpler and straight forward to get a cheap second machine and install it on that in order to learn and tinker.

Hell, you can install numerous flavors of Linux on a 40 dollar Raspberry Pi, so that's another low cost route.

You really need to suspect something is amiss when a grown man really wants to run a troop, but does not have a kid in the scouts.

Posted by: Cat Ass Trophy at February 27, 2024 06:22 AM

In my case, the Scoutmaster was married with no kids. He came to me after my abuser was told to pack his things and was expelled from the scout camp and asked me if I wanted to go home. I told him I'd stay. But I quit scouting a week or two later.

But something happened somewhere on the line. The building where my troop met was burned to the ground years later. That hardly seems coincidental. Also not coincidental is the fact that my best childhood friend joined scouting after I left and ate a bullet before graduating high school.

The other inherent problem with needing an email account to setup a computer is that setting up a computer for a young child is now more complex and fraught with peril as it now forces your child to be online at all times.

A blonde goes into the beauty and hair parlor with her walkman on her head. "I need to take that walkman off your head," says the beauty specialist as she notices the blonde.

"You can't! I'll die!" retorts the blonde.

"I can't cut your hair with the walkman on your ears!" says the beauty specialist getting annoyed.

"I said you can't take it off, or I'll die!"

The beauty specialist, outraged and flustered, grabs the walkman and throws it off the head of the blonde. Within seconds, the blonde dies. When the specialist picks up the walkman to listen, she hears it repeating "breath in, breath out, breath in".

But there's an important caveat to the fresh reporting. While Iran's enriched uranium is at this significantly higher level compared to 2015, the IAEA says the last several months have actually seen a reduction of its overall stockpile:

Iran reduced its stockpile of near weapons-grade nuclear material over the past 3½ months, the United Nations’ atomic watchdog said Monday, a surprise step likely to be welcomed by Western countries who have been alarmed by Iran’s buildup of highly enriched nuclear fuel.

Iran still has enough near-weapons grade material to fuel almost three nuclear weapons, underlining its status as a threshold nuclear-weapon state. However, by diluting some of its 60% enriched uranium in recent weeks to lower-grade material, its stockpile fell for the first time since it started producing the 60% nuclear fuel in 2021.

182 Scientists plan to begin pumping chemicals into the sky over the next few weeks and months from several countries around the globe, including the U.S., Australia and Israel.

The idea, promoted by Gates and leftist billionaire George Soros, involves pumping manmade white clouds containing chalk dust and other chemicals into the atmosphere to reflect sunlight away from the Earth’s surface.

Remember this:
As of 2037, Humanity had been mining from the moon for decades. Unfortunately, they had over-mined the moon by 2037, causing it to drift out of its orbit colliding with the earth's atmosphere, tearing the moon apart and sending debris crashing to Earth.

I had a blue Merle sheltie. He came from the pound. I'll save that story for another day. His name was "Merle". What a bundle of energy. He ran circles around my GSD. I had to give Merle away after a couple of years because he started to assert his dominance over my GSD and they were not getting along anymore.

I gave him to a couple who, no kidding, lived on a farm in the country where he would have plenty of room to run and play. It was a sad day for me, but it was the best for Merle.

It's a bad time to buy right now with the new Nvidia 5s coming out at the end of the year, so you might want to look into the FSR mod. 234 >By "harmful content" they mean, uh

If they don't tell you the name of the bill, there's a reason.

Here's what they mean by "harmful content":
Content that sexually victimizes a child or revictimizes a survivor;
Intimate content communicated without consent;
Content that foments hatred;
Content that incites violent extremism or terrorism;
Content that incites violence;
Content used to bully a child; and
Content that induces a child to harm themselves.

It's those three in the middle that mean this bill is the Liberal government's attempt to quash anything on the Internet that they disagree with. They're using the child protection stuff as a shield - you wouldn't disagree with a law that *protects children*, would you?? - to sneak in the "saying trans women are men is hate speech and you're going to jail" part.

And they're going to get away with it, because the media is helping them, even if the media is foreign agencies the Liberal government hasn't bought lock, stock and barrel.
