Joe Scarborough: Every Single Person Hosting the Network News or Sunday Shows, or Running Those Shows, Has Been a Liberal Democrat for the Last 50 Years

Pretty good rant.

In response to his question, "Name the one Republican who's hosted a network news show or a Sunday show for the last fifty years," one panelist offers "Tony Snow," who hosted... FoxNews, which is a Republican outfit because they let Republicans host their shows.

So what does that make the networks?

What follows isn't in the video, unfortunately, just in Newsbusters' transcript. Here, Scarborough offers the sort of tough questions a Republican would like to ask a Democrat -- but would never, ever be permitted to.

SCARBOROUGH: Do you know that at six months, a little baby inside a mother's womb has--and then I'd go into details about that. Do you really think you should stop a beating heart Mike Barnicle and murder the baby and then harvest its organs? Do you really think that's a good thing?

And the next question is, I'd do a set-up about how somebody was slaughtered and they didn't have a gun because they had a five-day waiting period.

Those are tough questions -- the abortion rape question is a tough question, but so are these, and yet, strangely enough, these never occur to George Stephanopolous, Diane Sawyer, or Anderson Cooper.

A longer video of the exchange is at the Free Beacon.

Incidentally, even at CNBC, staffers are questioning the choice of Harwood et al. to host the Republican debate.

In the wake of the debate debacle that’s delivered a gut punch to CNBC, many staffers at the business network are divided over whether "extremely biased" and "far left" correspondent and moderator John Harwood should have been allowed on stage.

"Everyone in the newsroom knows he’s extremely far left," a network insider told TheWrap about the prevailing opinion that pervaded the newsroom even before the debate.

Harwood is "not just extremely biased and partisan, but he's the worst kind who isn't self-aware that he is," the insider continued. "Blindness to that is what allowed him on the debate stage."

Definitely watch the rant below -- it's pretty good. He reveals that someone at his own network, NBC, told him he could never do a Sunday show for CBS, because, being a Republican, he was "too political."

26 Oh I was listening this morning and the interesting thing is that it was Mika who started it.

A panelist said they should get an objective journalist for the debates and she said "that's not possible".

And then Joe went off.

One guy tried a lame defense of the notion of simple journalistic objectivity, but Joe pounded him about why for fifty years no Sunday morning show host or evening anchor has ever voted in a Republican primary.

He also made interesting points about other kinds of diversity. Can't newsrooms recruit ex-cops, people who went to Community College, people from Manhattan, Kansas.

28 I love the excuse of oh but if there was an unbiased press than the Republicans lose running against the media!

Here's a hint, bucky, what Republicans want is, get this, an unbiased media. Not an issue upon which to run.

I wouldn't care if there was a hostile debate so long as such hostility was directed at both sides.

I've been thinking a lot about accountability and reciprocity lately and how much of the tension in this country comes down to how there is no accountability for some people and some communities but there is no reciprocity to those on the other side.

There was a comment in an article over the weekend that Hillary is "too big to jail" over the blatant security breaches in her email. That is true. Everyone knows that is true. It's full bore nation of men not laws. Of course people are hostile about that. People should be.

I despair, I despair.

Uh, no.
If it's an open secret that he's a far-lefty:
---Why has this not been pointed out and corrected before? He's not the host of an opinion show like Sharpton or Matthews.
---Why was he selected to moderate?

We know the answers to both, so why bother with "insider" talk that just confirms that this is exactly what CNBC wants in their supposed "impartial" newscasters.

50 Here's a little bit of the obvious: they didn't want balanced or truthful. They wanted bias and conflict.

The RNC has done this stuff for years. They are so desperate to get along with the MSM they let candidates take it up the squeakhole every elections cycle.

They left candidates up there to get clobbered and the only thing saving them were their own retorts.

The RNC and Priebus in particular are a bunch of incompetent clowns. Honestly, who else runs a GOTV that was a complete fraud and keeps their jobs?

That would be the same people who sent our candidates for slaughter before these useless network talking douchbags.

The opening is there because CNBC was so blatant. The candidates - at least those who are good at catching the tides - immediately acted on the opportunity. Others, like Scarborough here, are exploiting the opening for all it is worth. The only thing that does not make sense is not exploiting the breakthrough with everything you have.

Wait, what?

"The worst kind"?

No. The entirely typical kind. America's snooze media is made up of endless ranks of Harwoods, all of whom continually self-congratulate themselves on their imagined status as being "objective" and "neutral" and "nonpartisan".

But more than that, why the hell is Harwood still even drawing a paycheck after having egregiously distorted and lied right in the middle of the debate?

Harwood had previously mischaracterized a candidate's position, got called on it, retracted the mischaracterization, advanced the same damn mischaracterization in mid-debate, got called on it again, had it pointed out that he had already had to retract once, and Harwood then laughed and said that no, he hadn't.

That's about a million light years beyond even the usual liberal hackery.

Because the liberal idea of maybe having govt regulate fantasy football gets a foothold. It's like the question in 2012 about banning birth control. 109 @28 I love the excuse of oh but if there was an unbiased press than the Republicans lose running against the media!

-----------------------

And Joe points out how the issue of running against the media is ultimately a loser because it makes Republicans look like whiners.

What's funny to me in that video is the great glee that Halprin seems to get when he thinks he's found a Republican who meets Joe's criteria. A single Republican (and Joe argues that the names presented don't meet his criteria), and it means that Joe's whole argument is moot! The fact that one name alone still means that the field is widely biased is ignored.

Also, I hope Scarborough doesn't experience some kind of blowback for bringing up the comment from the unnamed NBC media executive.

121 Regarding the rape issue...many, who go to a ED or report...or who even don't go to the ED...I think the "next day" pill or whatever it is called is available without a Rx. Even to very young girls without parental approval. Right?

So, guess what I am saying, is I am all for a pill for those raped. Those who choose to stay pregnant should put the baby up for adoption.

If this makes me "pro-choice" it is about all I am pro-choice about. I have had to think differently about a friend's baby who was anecephalic and chose abortion. In the same light I read of brave couples who have their baby knowing he/she will only live a few hours or days.

What has been interesting in the liberal debate is why the day after pill is not mentioned, yet all are on board for killing a 28 week baby. I worked in a newborn nursery/ NICU for many years. The babies I saw delivered, early, due to very rare maternal illness, were called "premature." So I do not fall for the "abortion due to maternal illness" excuse.

Why shouldn't the GOP debates be done by GOP voters? After all, this is meant to help people in the party choose their candidate.

They hate the outsider candidates as much as the MSM, so it was supposed to be a win-win.

Except....the Left never rewards subservience. They have no good will toward the GOP for playing ball -- they expect it. See the shock and outrage over the CNBC moderator treatment. How dare those uppity GOP candidates question out perception of impartiality?

No, that's not strictly true. The Puritans experimented with having a "communal" granary, but as you say, this communalism was abused, and they gave it up.

They had an acute awareness of human sin, being Calvinists, and they were able to make the necessary course correction pretty quickly.

We on the other hand are narcissistic and delusional. We are like Nietzsche's unchained planet, floating through space.

347 So: I've been thinking today about just what the different candidates will want to spend their first year's political capital on? Figure, that's the time to strike, and where our concerns should really lie.

I don't believe it'll be immigration, because pretty much every one of these villains wants it, so there's no real cost to doing it in the first year.

If Hillary! gets it, I wouldn't be surprised if it's guns, simply because she'll have survived running on gun control and will think she can go all the way.

Bernie would be price control's of schools at the minimum, if I were to guess.

So, what about the Republican's? What big issue do any of them have that they'll actually burn their capital on? I, frankly, don't see what it'll be, but maybe one of you can clue me in?

348 Haven't watched Scarborough since the day after the Benghazi attack. The big story was that Romney criticized a statement made by the US Egyptian embassy that was unrelated to losing our Ambassador. Really. Romney was guilty of bad timing, and rather than explain it I guess it was easier to just rail on Romney and give the folks in charge a pass.

That's fine, in a rally around the flag kind of way, up to a point. But they were all slamming Romney for a correct statement that looked like something else because of the attack. How do you criticize that? And, worse, not even point any fingers at the administration? Last time I saw the show and I don't miss it in the least.

Look up "Halocracy," the most insane governance idea to comes along in many decades -- and it's currently trending as very hip and desirable among lefties.

Ignore the self-promotional jargon (they also rewrote their own wikipedia page) -- halocracy is basically socialism as an internal corporate governance structure. Some place are already trying it out. But what they WON'T tell you is that the workplace very quickly becomes a paranoia-laced "struggle session" where workers are not just encouraged to but ae REQUIRED to snitch on each other, and those accused must confess their inadequacies in front of a "circle" of accusers.

I know one woman who worked in a halocratic office and she said that it was strictly against corporate rules for any two employees to have a two-person one-on-one conversation! Because it was assumed you were either badmouthing someone else in the office, or plotting a reactionary counter-coup.

Yes, it's that bad.

368 Media liberals are so dominant in their field they can delude themselves into thinking they're mainstream and everyone else is the exception.

That's why you get things like Harwood, who is a far leftist and pretends he doesn't know it (probably believes it).

In my experience, a pretty large percentage of liberals share this delusion, calling themselves "middle of the road" or "all over the map" when they are, in fact, doctrinaire academic or media liberals.

That's one of the reasons they're so annoying, and also feeds the rest of their dishonesty - after all, if your core beliefs about yourself are really obvious lies, other lies are pretty trivial in comparison.

THUS, this rant may have been quite appropriate, but most media line-readers will not appreciate it, and certainly won't internalize it.

It looks like the tail section coming off was initial issue as it was found far from crash. Pilot seems to have fought to get nose up and speed way down before literally falling from the sky. Which is impressive piloting. But then two sections of plane doused in aviation fuel and passengers, who may have survived (still in seat belts, which speaks to low forward speed at impact) got pretty much cremated.

So I've moved dial from bomb to maintenance issue.

502 They're still missing the obvious and correct solution. During the primaries, debates should be moderated by people who best understand the policy platforms of the candidates. Generally, these would be people from the same party.

An objective moderator can ask a thousand objective questions, but if they're of no interest to the viewer and don't help separate the candidates from one another, they're worthless. "Lady and gentlemen, for each of you, given the recent spate of gun crime and mass shootings, do you think Hillary's right or Sanders is right?" Yeah, that's what I want Trump and Rubio and Cruz and Fiorina talking about.

No, they should be talking about their conservative (or in the case of Kasich: progressive) vision for America on a number of fronts that concern conservatives.

And the democrats can have Bolsheviks moderate their debates.

For the general election debates, one from each side in the panel together. Then the tough question will come out and the ability to choose between visions will be obvious; even to the commie dems who will always vote party before self, regardless of the candidate.
