Jessica's Law in NC

Whats going on with House Bill 933 Jessica Lunsford Act aka. Jessicas Law

Take Back Charlotte Mecklenburg has long been apart in fight for Jessicas Law for North Carolina. Sadly, all of our North Carolina Representatives are still dragging their feet with HB 933 Jessica Lunsford Act aka. Jessicas Law. Our North Carolina Representatives keep pointing their fingers at one another and give every excuse in the book. Not one of these Representatives has taken a firm stand in North Carolina General Assembly. We need them to be forceful and direct come to protecting our children, instead of playing selfish monetary games. North Carolina Representatives keep making Jessicas Law political, when they play lets make a deal. What they keep forgetting the most important factor in all this, our children. Our legislators need to remember that our children are not a Democratic or Republican, they are just children.

On Tuesday, April 24, 2007 the Judiciary II Committee met, led by Representative Dan Blue (D-Wake County) and he sent HB 933 Jessica Lunsford Act to a sub-committee. The reason given was this bill was too long and various committee members had trouble with it. This way the bill can be taken apart or get buried.

The next day was Legislation Day and Mark Lunsford was doing a press conference for stronger laws for sex offenders. Mark Lunsford is the father of Jessica Lunsford that was raped and murdered. In the memory of Mark Lunsfords daughter Jessica, a law has been introduced to enforce stricter laws pertaining to sex offenders called Jessicas Law. Not one North Carolina Representative of the Judiciary II Committee made any major stand at the press conference about the prior events to HB 933. North Carolina Representatives want to be safe and not rock the boat. This way, they can look concern without being concern. This is an outraged that both parties do more for non sense legislation than true legislation.

By the actions of the Judiciary II Committee and other members of North Carolina House; our legislators have become as P.I. M. P.s or Power, Influence, Money, Politics.

Still, it has been over three years and our lawmakers have not done anything but act busy as this bill languishes in committee. For the sake of our children North Carolina needs to get tough on Sex Offenders and pass Jessicas Law before it's too late.

This past year, a grouped formed taking a non-political stand various individuals, groups and organizations formed an action group called, Jessicas Law Now North Carolina. Group formed in response to the apathetic lawmakers, who are dithering about Jessicas Law rather than making a solid difference toward protecting our children. Take Back Charlotte Mecklenburg applied their efforts and agrees with their latest stand wake up our North Carolina lawmakers by issuing warrants for them. Warrants have been issued for Judiciary II Committee, Sub- Committee, and Speaker of the House well as other members of North Carolina House.

Please enact with the request from Jessicas Law Now North Carolina by help carrying out these warrants.

Note: Please See Warrants & Charges Below.

We appreciate your support for Jessicas Law Now North Carolina and join in the fight by telling North Carolina Representatives to pass HB 933 Jessica Lunsford Act aka. Jessicas Law Now!

Thank You,
Sherman Peabody / Take Back Charlotte Mecklenburg

Friday Feast #147

Here's how it works:

Each Friday when you visit this meme, you will find 5 enticing courses for your mind to gobble up:

Appetizer
- a quick, tasty morsel to get you started

Soup
- smooth and warm to soothe your mind

Salad
- a nutritious blend of "veggies"

Main Course
- a hearty portion that is sure to satisfy

Dessert
- light concoction for your sweet tooth

And now for this week's fare:
Appetizer: What do you consider to be the ultimate snack food?

Is beer considered a food?
Soup: On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 as highest), about how popular is your last name?

Well, I'd have to say it's a 10 with me...But according to the socialist security officials (so not counting illegal Mexican invaders, yet) -- it's a bit over 8000th. I don't think their scale goes from 1 to 10.
Salad: Who is your all-time favorite sitcom character, and why?

Archie Bunker:
Meathead: "Do you realize guns are the cause of over 60 percents of deaths in America?
Archie: Would it make you feel better if they was all pushed out of windows?
Main Course: Do you shop online? If so, name some sites you like to browse for goodies.

Browse? Shop? Do I LOOK like a girl?
Dessert: Fill in the blank: I think ___________ should be ___________.

Didn't you try and trick me last week with this one? I call fowl. I'm not answering -- because I think people who write these memes should be not allowed to use the same question twice. Doh!

Senate Amnesty Bill

I want to rejoice. Really, I do. I want to be happy that the Senate didn't pass this total amnesty bill to destroy American culture. But the reaction from the losers on the bill (Democrats and RINOs) makes me pause.

As soon as the vote failed, Harry Reid (D) said he can't wait to get the bill passed. Mitch McConnell (RINO) said that he wants to bring this issue back up very soon. Lindsey Graham (RINO) said that he is confident that the bill will be back. Kennedy (D) said the bill would be back.

Reid also said, "There are ways this can get done." I suspect it will be back in the middle of one night without announcement, without fanfare -- and it will be crammed down our throats, despite the vast majority of voters being strongly opposed to it. Good may have just won a battle, but the war for America (against the US Senate) is far from over.

Salem, MA is insane

What a pile of crap that town must be. If you live there and you're offended, I'm sorry that you have to live there. Yes, I'm talking about THE Salem from the famous "Salem Witch Trials." I guess the town has been insane since it's inception, and it's not much better today.

They are now arguing and killing animals over government regulations on fortune-telling. It just absolutely baffles the mind. Yes, they apparently have numerous government regulations about FORTUNE TELLING. I wonder what other charltans they "license" in the town.

They actually have LAWS that say there will only be 4 shops in town. They have a law that says only 5 "fortune tellers" are allowed in each shop. They have laws regarding "psychic fairs." You have to pass a background check to TELL FORTUNES! If you want to make up crap about people, this town actually requires you to wear a police-issued ID BADGE!

Now I've seen some really worthless government before, but this really takes the cake. The ONLY possible reason for all this crap is for government to get money and control. What ever happened to freedom in this damn country? And this from Masschusetts, home of the Boston Tea Party. How incredibly far we have come from our roots. What a total load of witch crap.

Illegals Kill Again

William Teach is mad. I say, Mr. Teach, it's about time. Now I know Teach has always been on the right side of this "immigration issue," but this time he, like many others, are finally seeing this up close and personal. So what's got Teach wanting to make some walk the plank?

Eyewitness News has learned the man charged with drunken driving in crash that killed a man Monday morning is in the United States
illegally.

Indeed. We've had six stories like that in the past year here in Charlotte, so it's not a new thing. Folks, no matter how much you like to claim that illegal criminal invaders from Mexico are coming here to work, many are coming here and are killing people -- from MS-13 gangs to drunk drivers. That's just the facts, whether any pro-illegal immigration supporters and McCain-Kennedy amnesty supporters want to admit it.

Immigration Attitudes Survey

Increasingly, Americans are turning to the web for news about politics. This is a survey about online news coverage of the immigration issue. We are interested in your thoughts on this important political controversy. If you decide to participate in our survey, you will start off by answering a few questions about yourself and your political attitudes. Then you will watch a short news clip of an immigration story. After the clip, we will ask you some questions about your position on immigration policy. In total, the survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. The survey is completely anonymous and you can skip any questions you do not wish to answer.

Click here to take the survey:

Pay Taxes or Die: Ed Brown

In breaking news, it appears the federal government is preparing to kill another citizen for failure to pay taxes. Ed Brown asked the government to show him a law, any law, that required him to pay taxes. The government refused and took him to trial. Then Mr. Brown attempted to use the fact that there's no law in his defense. The judge told him to shut up and sentenced him to jail time. Ed refused.

Since that time, Mr. Brown has remained on his own property. He has hurt no one. He is no danger to himself or anyone else. He has not, at any time, endangered any person's life. He has simply refused to comply with a government that will not answer his basic questions about the law. I've been following his story for a few months now. It appears the government is tired of his non-compliance with their rules.

Reports as of noon eastern daylight time claim that the state police have cleared the area of residents; are banning the press from flying in the area; and have denied the press access to the area at all. Various police and "armored vehicles" have headed towards Mr. Brown's house. In addition, his phone has been cut off. If you'd like to ask the US Marshall what's going on, his number is 603 225 1632. They are currently refusing to talk to reporters or anyone else.

It does appear that Mr. Brown will soon be killed for failure to pay income taxes to a government that cannot answer one simple question: "What Law?" The message from the federal government is very, very clear:

Pay taxes or die

*** Update: It seems this was just a drill for law enforcement. Details are few because the government kept reporters at bay during the operation. The government claims they were just serving a federal warrant (yeah, that usually requires dozens of agents and officers and armored vehicles) and they've now backed down. They did arrest Ed Brown's dog walker for "aiding the Browns."

I still strongly suspect Mr. and Mrs. Brown's days on this earth are seriously numbered.

Lott on Immigration

Trent Lott, US Senator:

If we can't do this then we ought to vote to dissolve the Congress and go home till a new Congress.

YAY! Hooray! Yes, yes, yes! Senator, YOU GET IT! GO HOME AND STOP TRYING TO SCREW AMERICA.

Personally, I don't think this total destruction of American culture, aka amnesty, aka "comprehensive immigration" bill is dead yet. I really, really hope it is, but I strongly suspect billionaires like Lott will cram this horrible bill down our throats, no matter what the people want, and no matter what is right.

Video Blogs For Borders

In this weeks edition...

Johnny Sutton puts another Border Patrol agent behind bars, wait till you hear why!

A gangbanger responds to MJ!

And three horrific crimes that would have been prevented had our president done his job!

Clickable link: Here

Our lead story this week is about Border Patrol agent Noe Aleman, yet another victim of prosecutor Johnny Sutton. We are part of an effort to help the family hang onto their house while he is in jail. You can read more about his story here and here.

We will have a Paypal button on our site as soon as it is available, the family needs a thousand dollars a month to scrape by during his incarceration, that works out to a hundred people contributing ten dollars a month, it seems like a pretty doable goal. If you'd like to host the paypal button on your site please send me an email and I will send you the code as soon as it's available.

Update: Noe now has a site of his own and you can read more about his story and donate there.

Also, if you're not already please consider joining NumbersUSA and calling and faxing congress about the unbelieveably bad amnesty bill that is currently being debated.

Gisele Speaks

Gisele.Bundchen.jpg"Supermodel" Gisele Bundchen, from Brasil, shows why people who are famous for their face or body really don't know much of anything else.

Miss Bundchen says that all women should drink, have sex, get pregnant, and kill any time they want. She also said that anyone who does not have money should be killed. She also claimed that not only was no one a virgin, but she implied that if you're a virgin when you get married, you're a stupid moron.

And yes, this was in response to the Pope visiting Brasil, a national of Catholics. Isn't is great when people who millions of young girls look up to tell those young girls to have sex and spread disease at will because you want to? Isn't this woman such a great role model for saying that if you're poor then you should be killed?

What an incredibly selfish, horrible person.

Dole on Immigration

From the North Carolina Republican convention last weekend in Charlotte:

Dole announces opposition to Amnesty Bill

Senator Elizabeth Dole announced her opposition to the Amnesty Bill, during her speech at the GOP luncheon in Charlotte this weekend. She followed a speech by Representative Sue Myrick, which was well received by the attendees. Representative Myrick had clearly stated her opposition to this bill.

Congresswoman Myrick spoke about her anti-terrorism caucus and the fact that 109 members of congress had joined. I was unable to ask her where were the other 426 member of congress on this important issue.

Party Chair Daves announced the capture of the terrorists plotting the attack on Kennedy airport right after these two leaders spoke, which punctuated the seriousness of their speeches.

Sue Myrick has always been on the right side of this immigration crap. Dole appears to be on the right side and has been voting the right way recently. I do hope she keeps it up.

Nerd, Geek, or Dork?

Found at Peter Porcupine's:

Your Score: Modern, Cool Nerd

60 % Nerd, 73% Geek, 39% Dork

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.

Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. It used to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world that you couldn't quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent, knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one you want as your lifeline in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (or the one up there, winning the million bucks)!

Congratulations!

President Romney?

My good friend Peter Porcupine has been after me to get my support for Mitt Romney. In response to my recent Tancredo post, Peter said:

Ogre - you may disagree with him about other things, but Mitt Romney is SOLID on immigration. He negotiated an agreement with ICE to let state police detain illegal immigrants for deportation when they were arrested (the new Governor broke the agreement, but hey, this IS Massachusetts). He halted the drive to allow in-state college tuition at public universites for illegals (the new Governor wants to bring it back to the Legislature again, but hey, this IS Massachusetts).

His answers in the debates - "ENFORCE EXISTING LAWS" speak for themselves.

He deserves your consideration - merely because he's from my home state is not enough to condemn him!

Now I will admit, being from Massachusetts is indeed a BIG strike in my book. Republicans from Massachusetts (sorry, but Peter P included) really don't see things as conservative as I do. So indeed, it will be rather difficult to support a Republican from Mass, but I am willing to consider other things.

I'll also say now, that in the primary process, I am simply not interested in "who can beat Hillary." Yes, I would rather have a conservative nominated and have them lose than nominate a liberal Republican and have them win. I actually think that ANY Republican who can really be conservative will win in a landslide. But back to Romney.

I checked out Romney's web site for information about his position on Immigration:

We need to make America more attractive for legal immigrants -- for citizens -- and less attractive for illegal immigrants. I want to see more immigration in our country, but more legal immigration and less illegal immigration.

Well, that's a lot of hot air about nothing. What does it mean to be "less attractive?" I think it means getting rid of all welfare benefits, education benefits, and medical benefits for ANY non-citizens of the United States. I don't see that position from Romney, I just see, "We'll fix it."

At the debates last night, I also watched Romney's answers on questions about immigration. He said that he wasn't opposed to the current Senate amnesty bill. He threw out some smoke and blather about he wanted to make it "better," but he would not oppose the current bill. That bill is likely the worst bill to ever appear in Congress, and he didn't oppose it last night -- despite having said this two days ago:

The immigration approach proposed by Senators McCain and Kennedy falls short of a workable solution to an important problem,

I went over to The Pew Forum and found this statement about Romney and Immigration:

Romney opposes amnesty for undocumented workers, favors securing the U.S.-Mexico border with a fence and wants to institute an employment verification system through high-tech identification cards. While Massachusetts governor, Romney vetoed a bill that called for lower tuition rates for the children of undocumented immigrants. He "reached an agreement with federal authorities" to give state troopers the power to arrest immigrants who are in the state illegally.

Now that sounds much better. Certainly it's great that he vetoed the free schooling for criminal alien invaders; and it's wonderful that he let his police force arrest criminal alien invaders. That's certainly great.

So what IS his position? It seems to me that he's not completely clear on the issue. I don't know, maybe he's already trying that "reaching out for the middle" thing that so many politicians do when they change positions on issues. Overall I'd say Romney is better than average on the immigration issue. There's some better, and there's a LOT worse. Right now, Tancredo is A LOT better.

Children Medical Crisis

We need Hillary for President -- either her or that Obama guy. If not one of those two, we've simply got to have someone that cares about the children. Apparently right now we simply don't have anyone in the country that cares about the children. Have you seen the latest danger to children?

Apparently there's been 67 children treated at Temple Street Children's University Hospital in Dublin, Ireland over a 10-week period. Here in the US in a 15-month period, 64 injuries were reported. In Singapore, 37 children had been treated in a 7-month period.

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons realizes that Americans are all stupid morons that can't be trusted to tie their own shoes, so the Academy has issued a dire warning that people who use roller skates should wear helmets -- but that's just not working. Kids are getting hurt today, and no kids have ever been hurt before! Kids should never, ever get hurt for any reason, and we need Democrats to protect our children from evil corporations that are getting rich off children's injuries.

And don't you radicals try and point out that the manufacturer already ships every product with warning labels that indicate safety equipment, including helmets, should be worn. We all know that children educated in the government school systems cannot read. And yes, it's true that more children get injured riding skateboards and swimming, but that's not enough. We need government to step in and ban these evil devices that are injuring children.

Heelys need to be banned today or children will die.

NC Candidates Support Property Rights

From the NC Property Rights Blog:

All Five Likely Candidates for Governor Support Eminent Domain Amendment

(6/5/07) - The News & Observer's Under the Dome blog has been posting a series of entries outlining where the various candidates for governor stand on the eminent domain amendment and other issues. According to Dome, all five probable major candidates for governor support the eminent domain amendment:

DEMOCRATS:
Richard Moore - supports eminent domain amendment
Beverly Perdue - supports eminent domain amendment

REPUBLICANS:
Bill Graham - supports eminent domain amendment
Bob Orr - supports eminent domain amendment
Fred Smith - supports eminent domain amendment

Eminent Domain Amendment Referred to Senate Ways & Means Committee

The eminent domain amendment (House Bill 878) that recently passed the N.C. House was referred to the Senate Ways & Means Committee on May 29. The committee members are listed below.

Chairman: Sen. Charlie S. Dannelly

Vice Chairman: Sen. David F. Weinstein

Members:
Sen. Charles W. Albertson
Sen. Austin M. Allran
Sen. Bob Atwater
Sen. James Forrester
Sen. Fletcher L. Hartsell, Jr.
Sen. David W. Hoyle
Sen. Neal Hunt
Sen. Clark Jenkins
Sen. John H. Kerr III
Sen. Vernon Malone
Sen. A. B Swindell

History of HB 878 (Eminent Domain Amendment)

On March 15, 2007 a bipartisan bill to protect our private property from unjust seizure by governments, was introduced in the N.C. House. This bill would give North Carolinians the opportunity to vote on an amendment to the state constitution that would prohibit governmental entities from using eminent domain to seize private property for economic development purposes. Unlike a legislative solution that can easily be undone by the whims of a future legislature, a constitutional amendment will give us protection that stands the test of time.

Four days after it was introduced, HB 878 was referred to the Committee on Rules, Calendar, and Operations of the House. It remained in that committee for two months. On May 15, HB 878 was referred to the Judicary II Committee. On May 22, the bill was modified in committee and placed on the House calendar for Wednesday, May 23, 2007. The bill passed its third reading in the N.C. House on May 24, 2007. It was received by the N.C. Senate on May 29, 2007 and referred to the Senate Ways & Means Committee that same day.

Thinking Blogger Tag

Good K.T. Cat has decided to attempt to tag me with another meme. This one is the "Thinking Blogger Meme."

I guess I could give KT a hard time for not reading my blog each and every day, but KT freely admits that mine is not a daily stop. And, well, with the schedule I've been working, I haven't been visiting much of anybody's blog the last month or two (very sorry, people).

But if KT had been reading religiously, my initial Thinking Blogger tag was received way back in March! But thanks for the tag, KT, I am honored that I make you think.

Tancredo for President!

Conservatives are rather unhappy with President Bush. As I predicted over a year ago, the biggest issue is ILLEGAL immigration. Bush and the Republican leadership simply do not understand that the VAST majority of Americans simply do not want amnesty for illegals -- and the current Senate bill provides that, even if I-Hate-Free-Speech McCain claims otherwise.

At the same time, the current "leaders" in the Republican Party -- those announced candidates who are leading the current polls (for whatever they're worth this early) -- all agree with Bush. The Democrat candidates ALSO want open borders and no defined America. So what is a person to do who likes America in it's previous form? What can someone do who wants America to be a unique country apart from Mexico and Canada? Who can you support if you want America to grow stronger under a unified English language?

Tom Tancredo. Here's Tom's position on ILLEGAL immigration -- different from Bush, the Republican Leadership, and other Republican "front-runners:"

I am 100% opposed to amnesty. As President, I will secure our borders so illegal aliens do not come, and I will eliminate benefits and job prospects so they do not stay.

Get behind Tancredo if you oppose illegal immigration -- no one else is going to stop it.

Update: Stop the ACLU has an exclusive interview with Mr. Tancredo up!

Amnesty for Property Crime

We must have amnesty now! People cannot be illegal! The FBI reports that there were over 7 MILLION property crimes committed last year. We cannot simply lock these people up, there's too many of them. And, as McCain says, if we try and punish them all, there will be riots in the streets like France! So the only solution is to completely forgive them of all their wrongdoing because doing anything else would be mean.

There were also over 500,000 robberies last year. Surely you right-wing wackos aren't suggesting we punish all those people? Where would we find the jail space for them all? How would that be fair? And that's only part of over 1.2 million violent crimes. We cannot tell these people that they're criminals when they're only trying to put food on their tables. Johnny Lightning may have accepted money for murdering Billy, but without that money, Johnny's family would have had no food. Surely you cannot condemn Johnny for just trying to do the work that no one else will do?

We must immediately develop, with a bipartisan Senate, a comprehensive plan to enable all these wonderful, perfect people who happen to have done something that's not approved of (like rape) a way to a normal life. We need to give them more because we're just not giving enough yet. And we cannot, under any circumstances, punish them because they're just doing the jobs (like arson) that no one else will do.
