I'm back !

I know I haven't posted in a Loooooong time, seems I had forgotten my log in info (yeah, Im a dumbass...)but I finally figured out how to get back in.

What's happened in the time between? Lots1, too much to go into, the main thing is that I had found my soulmate, Beth. We had great joy in each other's company. We bought a house, a motocycle fo me, and we looked forward to many happy years together.... Alas it was not to be. Beth was diognosed with ovarian cancer in April. She fought the good fight, but her body just couldn't withstand the ravages of the cancer, the cancer drugs ,and a savage strep/ecoli infection that started due to her weakened immune system.

She died at 0717 on July 6,2013.

This event has turned my whole world upside down, no it's more than that, I no longer have a world, just a dark place I exist in. I know it's a normal part of the grieving process, but it sure sucks...

I intend to try to start posting again on a regular basis, but please bear with me if they don't come daily.

GO Aggies !

On June 28, Lt. Col. Roy Tisdale, a Texas A&M alum, was killed during a training exercise at Fort Bragg by another solder who then shot himself. The Westboro Baptist Church, known for protesting soldiers' funerals with anti-gay messages, posted plans to show up at Tisdale's funeral on their website.

A fellow "Aggie", Ryan Slezia, came up with a plan to create a human wall to block any protesters from getting near the funeral, and invited fellow Texas A&M students and alum to join. One participant tweeted that over 650 people showed up in maroon shirts to create a "maroon wall".

It appears that the Westboro protestors never showed up.

Ms. Delftsman is a proud Aggie, and I am a Patriot Guard Rider; had we resided in N.C., you can be assured that we both would have been proudly wearing maroon shirts in that line.

A&M has had a long proud tradition of supporting the military, I'm glad to see that tradition has continued to the present crop of students.

Another Executive Order

According to the Daily Caller, on July 26,2012, our Ear Leader issued yet another ill-advised Executive Order establishing a government panel to promote a positive school climate that does not rely on methods that result in disparate use of disciplinary tools.

The order, called the "White House Initiative On Educational Excellence, proposes that school discipline be administered on the basis of the race of the offender.

The language of the order contends that Black students are disciplined disproportionally in relation to other races. It doesn't propose to ascertain whether or not Blacks offend at higher rates; it just assumes that they are disciplined at a higher rate, and that that higher rate is the result of institutional racism.

My response: The Obama Administration; reverse racism at it's finest.

I can't believe that anyone can look at this proposed program and NOT say W. T. F.!?! Even Black parents should be outraged by this.

Waiting for the LSM to go balls to the wall with this story....crickets chirping in the night.

Warren Mao Speaks

Elizabeth Warren want's us to be more like China:

The first problem is mathematical. U.S. gross domestic product is about $15 trillion a year. Increasing infrastructure investment to the 9% Chinese level that Ms. Warren cites would mean an additional $1 trillion a year in government spending. Thats an immense spending increase. To put it in context, the entire federal government spent about $3.6 trillion in 2011, on revenues of about $2.3 trillion.

If Ms. Warren really wants to spend $1 trillion a year more on infrastructure, shed need to eliminate all national defense spending ($705 billion) or all Social Security spending ($730 billion) and then find another more than quarter trillion dollars.

Where would this money come from?

Taxing the "rich"?, not nearly enough money there...not to mention that it would collapse our economy in one fell swoop,,,and by the way, we are ALREADY $15.4 Trillion in debt; how are we to pay that off?

But maybe we should try her plan which of course would first require total elimination of (at a minimum): EPA, NHTSA, labor unions, minimum wage, and all entitlements (everyone works comrade no excuses).
Sorry PETA, Green Peace, Seirra Club, et al, we don't have the bucks to care about the snail darters, forests, or spotted owls anymore.

That might not be a bad trade.

What could possibly go wrong? /sarcasm

Intolerance or WHY do we Tolerate Liberalism?

Rob Bluey has a great post over at Hot Air that showcases the intolerance exhibited by the Liberal/Progressives far better than I ever could.

My only question is: WHY do we tolerate the Liberal Left ?!?

My only answer to that is that the Conservative/Moderate movement is truly the only side that IS tolerant.

Your mileage may vary.

Chick-Fil-A

Photobucket

I was reading over at Huff Po (studying the enemy, so to speak) when I saw this article about the Chick=Fil-A controversy.

Beth and I went to Chick-Fil-A this afternoon for lunch to show support for the owner's First Amendment rights. Prior to this, I had never eaten at a C-F-A. When we arrived, we found that traffic was backed up for a block on both streets of the intersection; the drive through line was in a double line around the building, and it was difficult to open the door to enter, as the building was packed to the rafters.

After getting in, it was only a couple of minutes to get to the front of the order line; then there was a 35 minute wait until our order was filled. NO ONE complained about the wait, indeed, there was an atmosphere of joy that the turnout was so large. The day of support had turned into an EVENT of like minded people.

No matter what the Mayors of Chicago and Boston had to say about the issue; here in the Middle Country, the PEOPLE support Chick-Fil-A.

Hypocrisy

Photobucket

The GLTB activists have the greatest hypocrisy thing going; here in the States, they will put the greatest amount of pressure possible on anyone they perceive as being the slightest bit opposed to their agenda, but when it comes to the REAL bastards that would just as soon cut their heads off or hang them from the nearest lamp post, they are strangely silently meek.

We in America have been hoodwinked by the application of Political Correctness
to be silent, even when many of us feel strongly about what we see as a moral issue. The result is that the amorality of 'humanist' activists is the only side to be approved for general consumption and anyone raising a question about it is shouted down as being bigots, racists and homophobes.

I suggest all the GLTB activists try to promote their agendas where it really counts and see just how far they get in promoting that agenda in places like Saudi Arabia, Iran, North Korea, or Cuba.

As for me, Chick-Fil-A is now my favorite fast food joint.

Spending

Photobucket

Need I really say any more? Not really, but you know I'm going to anyway...

In a little more than three years Mr. Obama has:

1. Increased the National debt more than the 43 Presidents before him COMBINED.

2. He has played more rounds of golf in the last three years than the last 5 Presidents before him combined

3. He and his family have taken 10 vacations trips (to the tune of at least $1m per trip), all on the taxpayers dime.

4. He has not gotten a budget passed in the entire time he has been in office.(his last budget proposal was voted down even by the members of his own Party.)

5. He did take the decision to take down Osama Bin Laden...Great call...it only took him 4 weeks to decide to go for it. Under the same circumstances, I think in my heart of hearts that any of his predecessors could have taken that same decision in under an hour; moreover, even after he had given the final go on the operation; he had to be called off the golf course twenty minutes before the operation started it's final critical phase, really seems he was worried by the gravity of the whole thing, doesn't it? Yet to hear him tell it, the impression that he seems to give was that HE was the only really instrumental member of the whole thing, the SEALS that did the work were only his errand boys.

6. He stated in one presser that he thought "the Private sector was doing fine"...yeah 46 months of growth of 1 to 2% per quarter in growth and a high of over 10% and a low of 8.5 % unemployment is doing fine all right...

7. He gave loan guarantees totaling almost two Billion dollars of taxpayer money to green energy companies, whose CEO's and/or main investors all turned out be big contributors to his campaign, and have subsequently all declared bankruptcy. (can you say "crony capitalism?")

8. Taken over about 1/6 of the economy by instituting the "Affordable Health Care Act", which we are finding out more and more each day that it is neither affordable, nor really healthy for anyone except the power brokers in Washington D.C. .

9. It was on his watch that Americans credit rating was reduced from the highest rating possible for the FIRST time in it's history.

10. He spent over a trillion dollars in "stimulus" and TARP funds...yet the economy has not improved one iota; he claims it was because he didn't spend enough money ! Tell me, in your own household budget, do YOU spend money you don't have to try to make YOUR financial position better?!? And when it doesn't work, say that if you had only doubled down twice on your credit card debt that everything would be just rosy?

It is incomprehensible to me just why ANYONE with more brain cells than an amoeba would even consider voting to re-elect him at all; the fact that by all the polls showing the race to be dead even statistically, leads me to believe that a large part of the electorate must have been smoking too much shroom and killed 99.9% of their brain cells.

That's my opinion, your mileage may vary.

No YOU didn't Make That

Photobucket

Much has been written about pResident Obama's assertion to small business owners that "they didn't build that, somebody else did".

The left says that the statement was taken out of context and that Mr. Obama meant that they didn't build the roads and bridges that he referenced in the sentence prior to the disputed statement.

Even IF that was the case, Mr. Obama was incorrect. Those roads and bridges were built with funds garnered from the populace at large, including those small business owners, and they were agreed upon to be built with the advice and consent of that populace. People agreeing to pay a price (their taxes) for a project that all agreed was in the common interest.

The thing I took from the statement personally was the fact that it revealed the extent to which the pResident doesn't really understand the American Psyche; the underlying premise of the American Experiment in self-governance.

That statement shows that Obama believes that all good can only occur at the instigation of Government, while the American view is that INDIVIDUALS, working together in their own self interests, create the greatest good for all, and I would posit that many times that occurs IN SPITE of the government rather because of it.

Obama revealed himself as what he IS, a person who believes in the power of the collective State rather than in the power of the individual, in other words, a Socialist.

If you truly want to understand the modern Liberal/Progressive mindset, you really need to listen to this lecture by Evan Sayet . Another One Bites the Dust

Move over Solyndra, Amonix is joining you on the ash heap of failed "green jobs" companies supported by OUR tax dollars.

You know, Mr. Obama, when you made that statement that "YOU didn't make that company a success without our help"(paraphrasing his words); it seems that almost every company that you were helping with our tax dollars hasn't done too well...actually, a higher failure rate than new restaurants, which is atrociously high.

At least Bain & Co. were risking their own money, not OURS.

America truly is the Greatest Country in the World.

By: Kitty Werthmann

What I am about to tell you is something you've probably never heard or will ever read in history books.

I believe that I am an eyewitness to history. I cannot tell you that Hitler took Austria by tanks and guns; it would distort history. We elected him by a landslide - 98% of the vote.. I've never read that in any American publications. Everyone thinks that Hitler just rolled in with his tanks and took Austria by force.

In 1938, Austria was in deep Depression. Nearly one-third of our workforce was unemployed. We had 25% inflation and 25% bank loan interest rates.

Farmers and business people were declaring bankruptcy daily. Young people were going from house to house begging for food. Not that they didn't want to work; there simply weren't any jobs. My mother was a Christian woman and believed in helping people in need. Every day we cooked a big kettle of soup and baked bread to feed those poor, hungry people - about 30 daily.

The Communist Party and the National Socialist Party were fighting each other.. Blocks and blocks of cities like Vienna , Linz , and Graz were destroyed. The people became desperate and petitioned the government to let them decide what kind of government they wanted.

We looked to our neighbor on the north, Germany , where Hitler had been in power since 1933. We had been told that they didn't have unemployment or crime, and they had a high standard of living. Nothing was ever said about persecution of any group -- Jewish or otherwise. We were led to believe that everyone was happy. We wanted the same way of life in Austria .. We were promised that a vote for Hitler would mean the end of unemployment and help for the family. Hitler also said that businesses would be assisted, and farmers would get their farms back. Ninety-eight percent of the population voted to annex Austria to Germany and have Hitler for our ruler.

We were overjoyed, and for three days we danced in the streets and had candlelight parades. The new government opened up big field kitchens and everyone was fed.

After the election, German officials were appointed, and like a miracle, we suddenly had law and order. Three or four weeks later, everyone was employed. The government made sure that a lot of work was created through the Public Work Service.

Hitler decided we should have equal rights for women. Before this, it was a custom that married Austrian women did not work outside the home. An able-bodied husband would be looked down on if he couldn't support his family. Many women in the teaching profession were elated that they could retain the jobs they previously had been required to give up for marriage.

Hitler Targets Education - Eliminates Religious Instruction for Children( remember, the Left has been basically controlling our educational system since the early 60's ! Delftsman):

Our education was nationalized. I attended a very good public school. The population was predominantly Catholic, so we had religion in our schools. The day we elected Hitler (March 13, 193, I walked into my schoolroom to find the crucifix replaced by Hitler's picture hanging next to a Nazi flag. Our teacher, a very devout woman, stood up and told the class we wouldn't pray or have religion anymore. Instead, we sang "Deutschland, Deutschland, Uber Alles," and had physical education.

Sunday became National Youth Day with compulsory attendance. Parents were not pleased about the sudden change in curriculum. They were told that if they did not send us, they would receive a stiff letter of warning the first time. The second time they would be fined the equivalent of $300, and the third time they would be subject to jail. The first two hours consisted of political indoctrination. The rest of the day we had sports. As time went along, we loved it. Oh, we had so much fun and got our sports equipment free. We would go home and gleefully tell our parents about the wonderful time we had.

My mother was very unhappy. When the next term started, she took me out of public school and put me in a convent. I told her she couldn't do that and she told me that someday when I grew up, I would be grateful. There was a very good curriculum, but hardly any fun - no sports, and no political indoctrination. I hated it at first but felt I could tolerate it. Every once in a while, on holidays, I went home. I would go back to my old friends and ask what was going on and what they were doing. Their loose lifestyle was very alarming to me. They lived without religion. By that time unwed mothers were glorified for having a baby for Hitler. It seemed strange to me that our society changed so suddenly. As time went along, I realized what a great deed my mother did so that I wasn't exposed to that kind of humanistic philosophy.

Equal Rights Hits Home: (remember a little thing called "unintended consequences?" Delftsman)

In 1939, the war started and a food bank was established. All food was rationed and could only be purchased using food stamps. At the same time, a full-employment law was passed which meant if you didn't work, you didn't get a ration card, and if you didn't have a card, you starved to death. Women who stayed home to raise their families didn't have any marketable skills and often had to take jobs more suited for men.

Soon after this, the draft was implemented. It was compulsory for young people, male and female, to give one year to the labor corps. During the day, the girls worked on the farms, and at night they returned to their barracks for military training just like the boys. They were trained to be anti-aircraft gunners and participated in the signal corps. After the labor corps, they were not discharged but were used in the front lines. When I go back to Austria to visit my family and friends, most of these women are emotional cripples because they just were not equipped to handle the horrors of combat. Three months before I turned 18, I was severely injured in an air raid attack. I nearly had a leg amputated, so I was spared having to go into the labor corps and into military service.

Hitler Restructured the Family Through Daycare:
( Obama has suggested that the Government should provide more aid to parents to help get daycare services Delftsman)

When the mothers had to go out into the work force, the government immediately established child care centers. You could take your children ages 4 weeks to school age and leave them there around-the-clock, 7 days a week, under the total care of the government. The state raised a whole generation of children.. There were no motherly women to take care of the children, just people highly trained in child psychology. By this time, no one talked about equal rights. We knew we had been had.

Health Care and Small Business Suffer Under Government Controls( Obama Care, anyone? Bueller?, and what about the new regulations from the EPA and the NLRB? not to mention the 8,000+ new regulations on small businesses? Delftsman ):

Before Hitler, we had very good medical care. Many American doctors trained at the University of Vienna . After Hitler, health care was socialized, free for everyone. Doctors were salaried by the government. The problem was, since it was free, the people were going to the doctors for everything(emp mine). When the good doctor arrived at his office at 8 a.m., 40 people were already waiting and, at the same time, the hospitals were full. If you needed elective surgery, you had to wait a year or two for your turn. There was no money for research as it was poured into socialized medicine. Research at the medical schools literally stopped, so the best doctors left Austria and emigrated to other countries. (In any country that has National Health Care provided by the Gov., the result has ALWAYS been the same: long lines at the doctors offices, long waits for diagnostic testing, and in the end cost to benefit analysis placed on who will and who will not get more than palliative care IE: "death panels". Ask any one from Canada, Great Britain, The Netherlands....Delftsman )

As for healthcare, our tax rates went up to 80% of our income.

Newlyweds immediately received a $1,000 loan from the government to establish a household. We had big programs for families. All day care and education were free. High schools were taken over by the government and college tuition was subsidized. Everyone was entitled to free handouts, such as food stamps, clothing, and housing.

We had another agency designed to monitor business. My brother-in-law owned a restaurant that had square tables. Government officials told him he had to replace them with round tables because people might bump themselves on the corners. Then they said he had to have additional bathroom facilities. It was just a small dairy business with a snack bar. He couldn't meet all the demands. Soon, he went out of business. If the government owned the large businesses and not many small ones existed, it could be in control.

We had consumer protection. We were told how to shop and what to buy. Free enterprise was essentially abolished. We had a planning agency specially designed for farmers. The agents would go to the farms, count the live-stock, then tell the farmers what to produce, and how to produce it.

"Mercy Killing" Redefined:

In 1944, I was a student teacher in a small village in the Alps . The villagers were surrounded by mountain passes which, in the winter, were closed off with snow, causing people to be isolated. So people intermarried and offspring were sometimes retarded. When I arrived, I was told there were 15 mentally retarded adults, but they were all useful and did good manual work. I knew one, named Vincent, very well. He was a janitor of the school. One day I looked out the window and saw Vincent and others getting into a van. I asked my superior where they were going. She said to an institution where the State Health Department would teach them a trade, and to read and write. The families were required to sign papers with a little clause that they could not visit for 6 months. They were told visits would interfere with the program and might cause homesickness.

As time passed, letters started to dribble back saying these people died a natural, merciful death. The villagers were not fooled. We suspected what was happening. Those people left in excellent physical health and all died within 6 months. We called this euthanasia.

The Final Steps - Gun Laws: ( Fast & Furious, The U.N. Treaty on Small Arms etc, etc,etc WAKE UP PEOPLE ! Delftsman )

Next came gun registration.. People were getting injured by guns. Hitler said that the real way to catch criminals (we still had a few) was by matching serial numbers on guns. Most citizens were law abiding and dutifully marched to the police station to register their firearms. Not long after-wards, the police said that it was best for everyone to turn in their guns. The authorities already knew who had them, so it was futile not to comply voluntarily.

No more freedom of speech. Anyone who said something against the government was taken away. We knew many people who were arrested, not only Jews, but also priests and ministers who spoke up.

Totalitarianism didn't come quickly, it took 5 years from 1938 until 1943, to realize full dictatorship in Austria . Had it happened overnight, my countrymen would have fought to the last breath. Instead, we had creeping gradualism Now, our only weapons were broom handles. The whole idea sounds almost unbelievable that the state, little by little eroded our freedom.

After World War II, Russian troops occupied Austria . Women were raped, preteen to elderly. The press never wrote about this either. When the Soviets left in 1955, they took everything that they could, dismantling whole factories in the process. They sawed down whole orchards of fruit, and what they couldn't destroy, they burned. We called it The Burned Earth. Most of the population barricaded themselves in their houses. Women hid in their cellars for 6 weeks as the troops mobilized. Those who couldn't, paid the price. There is a monument in Vienna today, dedicated to those women who were massacred by the Russians. This is an eye witness account.

It's true..those of us who sailed past the Statue of Liberty came to a country of unbelievable freedom and opportunity. ( I was one of those People, and I bless God every day because of it ! Delftsman )

America Truly is the Greatest Country in the World. Don't Let Freedom Slip Away
