All seriousness aside, and as much as I often find images and interesting things to comment on with abstract artworks, this one has . . . very little. There are occasional hints of color, but then long threads or strands are rather off-putting. Perhaps that was Pollock's intention.

176 A day of two ago, we were discussing the negative impact of radical gays, especially Ts, on the general acceptance of gays and gay marriage. This article by a gay author explores that, and why the radical types are actually hurting gays. Here's the money quote:

If your goal is building lasting support for gay people, you might want to listen when gay people tell you you’re hurting the cause. But if your goal is merely virtue signaling to your fellow progressives, then gay people questioning you poses a threat.

If you actually care about gay people and building or maintaining support for gay marriage, you’ll want to avoid unnecessarily polarizing people. You’ll want to build bridges, not burn them.

But many activists are more concerned with appearing to care about gay people than actually caring about gay people.

The thing about virtue signaling is there’s nothing virtuous about it. It’s deeply self-absorbed. It’s all about you and your status among your peer group.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Oh wait, I said exactly this.

196 The Pollock is an interesting curiosity. It shows more about the art culture in which it was created, than about art or human existence. Frankly, if I want to look at dazzling abstractions, any of the Galileo spacecraft's closeups of Jupiter's cloud formations are far more beautiful and far more complex than anything Pollock or his followers have created.

205 Multicultural French Music Festival Sees Hundreds of Arrests for Stabbings, Sex Assaults, Date Rape Druggings

-
"Multicultural" sounds a lot better than "immigrant rape invasion". If you followed the link, you found this.

France: At Least 145 Injected in Syringe Attacks During Multicultural Music Festival
. . . .
The festivities were also once again the site of numerous “evening bites”, a trend in which people are surreptitiously stabbed with syringes full of date rape drugs. According to Le Parisien, dozens of women came forward claiming to have been attacked in such a manner.

While often associated with rape or sexual assault at music venues or nightclubs, the practice has also been tied to other crimes, such as theft. Indeed, one of the identified victims on Sunday evening was a man who said that he was stung near the Place de la République by a man who “was walking around with syringes on his belt”.

Great actor, plays lots of grizzled manly men on-screen but the man himself is a lot like the sandaled poofter hippie he plays in The Truman Show. Plus, he's a dick. When Elia Kazan got his honorary Oscar, Harris and his shriveled harridan wife stood there in silence with frowns on their faces like if Zombie Johnny Carson had walked up and shoved handfuls of dog shit in their faces. At least the rest of Hollywood politely clapped, despite hating Kazan's guts for naming names to HUAC. I think even Tim Robbins held his nose and unenthusiastically clapped like Patton in front of the Soviet generals.

296 In many cases they are "take me seriously you guyz" glasses. I think DeNiro uses them too. And Madcow.

How ironic that they make you look like a clown, then.

298 I don't get the snark about women using three names. It seemed to be common practice through the 19th and 20th centuries. One more thing to bitch about, I guess.

307 Seems pretty evident to me that 30+ years of business-as-usual chickens in the pentagon are coming home to roost, driving our inconsistent performance vs. Iran. I'm sure a bunch of generals made promises they couldn't deliver on.

That's against a wider backdrop of what I have said since 2016 when the scope of the russian collusion fraud came to light: Trump is a speedbump and nothing is stopping the war that is coming. All these asshat judges only reinforce that belief.

We've expelled, what, maybe 2-3 million at best of Biden's invasion? Killing USAID is great but all this is really accomplishing domestically is giving us more time to prepare. And internationally the manufacturing we got back will help a bit. Better to have Trump than not but it's not enough

Civil war or balkanization is still inevitable.

"Birth Control Glasses" is what we used to call the hideous thick plastic frames issued in boot camp. It made everyone wearing them look like an inmate at a nerd POW camp.
Posted by: All Hail Eris, She-Wolf of the 'Ettes 'Ettes at June 23, 2026 10:47 AM (kpS4V)

The black plastic 50s-70s era frames weren't TOO bad. Especially when retro styles started to become popular. The "stylish" tortoise frames in the 80s and beyond were just some stupid ring-knocker officer intentionally trying to make his troops look like they'd been gelded before being released to walk among normal people in the wild.

I'm so grateful that my own eyesight didn't start to deteriorate until I hit my mid-40s.
