Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | These Mullahs are serious!![]() History occasionally produces events that overturn the intellectual frameworks used to interpret the modern world. The French Revolution did this in 1789 by demonstrating the political power of mass mobilization, and the Russian Revolution did it again in 1917 by introducing an ideological state built on Marxism. Yet the Iranian Revolution of 1979 posed a challenge even more unsettling to modern assumptions. It had become a modernizing state that many believed was steadily moving toward secular development, given Peter Burger’s at that time on the secularization thesis, which he later rejected. It argued that as societies modernize, religion gradually loses social, political, and cultural influence. Much of the continuing Western misinterpretation of Iran reflects the lingering influence of secularization theory. Many policymakers still assume that economic development, generational change, or deeper integration into global markets will gradually normalize Iran’s political system. Yet the revolution itself suggested otherwise. In Iran, modernization strengthened the social networks through which religious leaders organized political resistance. The Islamic Republic therefore represents not simply a temporary deviation from secular modernity but a different model of political modernity in which religious authority remains central.Something to think about. Comment on this piece, which is much longer than the excerpts above: The Mullahs of Iran and Bolshevik rise to power in Russia have many parallels. Both future leaders were in exile in Europe, and both sent in to disrupt the political situations in Russia and Iran. Both countries were suffering from instable and reactionary governments. And, as both succeeded, a small minority was able to seize power and brutally establish an authoritarian system that eliminated the competition and enforced their agenda over the populus. The USSR eventually collapsed from its own rot, the mullahs will have to be forcibly removed or they will hold on indefinitely. It always amazes me that so many dictators of the 20th Century who mass-murdered their own people spent time in Paris first. I tend to think of Marxism and some of its variants as religions, too. Tim Orr also wrote an academic piece with references concerning the theology of the Mullahs. You might want to keep it handy for reference: Iran's War Against Israel: The Shia Eschatological Vision Behind a Messianic Conflict My personal journey into understanding why Iran is so intensely hostile toward Israel began when I studied at the Islamic College in London, which teaches the Twelver Shiʿa tradition. My time there was unique, as it gave me a rare opportunity as a non-Muslim to learn from Muslim and Shiʿa scholars and to listen carefully to their perspectives. During that time, I came to see more clearly how religion—specifically Ayatollah Khomeini’s revolutionary, Twelver Shiʿa–influenced messianic theology—shapes the Iranian regime’s perception of reality. Perhaps the scariest part of Iran’s apocalyptic belief system that is not deterred by mutually assured destruction is Iran’s feverish desire to obtain nuclear weapons. Whereas other states see nuclear weapons as tools for deterrence, Iran’s regime believes nuclear weapons will allow them to destroy Israel, and possibly the world, facilitating the necessary chaos for the arrival of the Twelfth Imam. MEANWHILE,
The Week In Pictures: Ayatollahed You So Edition Comments are closed so you won't ban yourself by trying to comment on a week-old thread. But don't try it anyway. Trump’s sinister achievement is to delegitimize the old intellectual and political establishment while at the same time cementing the racial hierarchies and regimes of repression that this elite exploited during the war on terror. In yet another parody of the “responsibility to protect” hucksters, the white-supremacist president also wishes to be seen as the authentic savior of a benighted world at war. Western liberalism, constantly searching for monsters abroad, turns out to have been a moral mask for an intellectual service class—a fashion accessory tossed aside by Trump. It is of no use to those presiding over a swift and brutal reversal of racial progress. It should not surprise us how quickly the nineteenth-century prejudice that white men should dominate “inferior” Africans, Asians, and Latin American peoples has become common sense for much of Western politics and journalism. “The subterranean stream of Western history has finally come to the surface,” Arendt warned in 1950, after the nineteenth-century ideologies of racial aggrandizement had achieved a monstrous culmination in the heart of Europe. That subterranean stream has again come to the surface in 2025, and it is sweeping away the once-unassailable idea of the West. - Pankaj Mishra, Harper’s Magazine, December 2025 Let me know if you deeply understand this text. They assume that all religions will secularize because that is sort of what Christianity did. The thing is, they are basing this off a Judeo-Christian framework.
A lot of Judeo-Christian philosophy though can be boiled down to: Your instincts tell you to be an asshole. God does not want you to be an asshole. Don't be an asshole. The religion itself is already trying to ... soften the base instinct. They would say secularize because they are assholes. We know you hate that guy. Don't. We know you want to take advantage of that weaker guy (or that woman, or that kid.) You should help them out instead. That is why God has given you strength. Islam DOES NOT think this way. Tribalism is baked in. Deceit is baked in. Taking advantage of the weak is baked in. It is EXPLICITLY anti-Judeo-Christian. They cannot coexist. Iran’s genocidal dreams about Israel cannot be dismissed as rhetoric, political bluster, or even calculated decisions that can be altered through international engagement and rational discourse.
Same mistake that Israel made with Hamas and with "Palestinians" generally. "Sure, they want to kill Jews, but they also want to live comfortable lives, so it is possible to buy them off and leave you in peace, aside from the occasional symbolic attack." No - they just want to kill Jews, and will live in mud huts if that enables them to kill Jews. Posted by: The ARC of History! at March 07, 2026 11:40 AM (n1OCj) 27

I would add to the UK Banned Book List the author William Tyndale who translated the Greek and Hebrew Bible into English.
Tyndale, born in Gloucestershire, England, had to flee to the Continent because the English authorities threatened to imprison and even execute him for the crime of translating the Bible without ecclesiastical approval. (heresy) John Wycliffe's work was also condemned and the copies he made were confiscated and burned. Tyndale was ultimately betrayed and arrested near Brussels and executed. I see the Anglican priesthood and leadership of that day just as tyrannical and bloodthirsty as today's dead Iranian Supreme Loser. Part of the problem is that modern Westerners can't believe that anyone would take religion that seriously.
I remember during The Troubles in Northern Ireland, NPR ran a think piece trying to figure out "what is the real reason" for the conflict in Northern Ireland. The idea that people would kill other people over religion was so bizarre that NPR decided that there had to be some other reason for the conflict. Except the vast majority of Muslims have no lineage with Abraham. Islam is not a race, its a demonic tyrannical government and culture using religion as a justification for its violent practice and expansion. And Islam came thousands of years after, centuries after Christianity. It is a foundational belief that Mohammed is a descendant of Abraham through Ishmael, but there is no reliable documentation beyond maybe Adnan and that still leaves many centuries of fill-in-the-blank. Intellectually I think humans are hard-wired to be spiritual. Communists AFAICT want to ban traditional religions and have people worship the government. Many many western secularists have substituted their notion of Science for god. I used to puzzle over how communists who hate god could be so enamored of Islam, but its rather similar. Islam AFAICT says only the clerics can decide who is fit to be governing. Communism says the party (not the general public) decides who is governing and you must accept the government as the supreme authority; aka worship it. And I guess both Islam and communists hate the Jewish and christian god. I've read that Allah is just their word for the same god, but it doesn't ring true by muslim actions.

The thing is, they are basing this off a Judeo-Christian framework.
Could you explain this alleged Judeo-Christian framework? The Jewish leadership at the time killed the Messiah. That seems to be a full 180° difference. Furthermore, Jewishness was based on secular lineage (they didn't accept the Samaritans as being fully Jewish). The New Covenant is based on a physical but spiritual lineage (God loved certain people from Eternity Past and Chose them for Adoption). The only point of intersection is Paul's "grafting in to the Olive Tree" in his Roman letter, and that was based on a common faith in the Son of God and the Promised Land not being a patch of land on the Eastern Med, but heavenly. Furthermore, and I know I'll lose RC and EO here, but spiritual life is by faith, not works - which is an alien idea to all other religious frameworks. After reading his article I am more confused. It seems his idea of a Western Civilization is moving towards a social and economic democracy with no strong leaders. Was he not around under the 8 years of Bush and 8 years of Obama when American Western Civilization was berated daily? Was he on vacation when Biden surrendered billions of dollar to illegals, third world refugees, and NGO that begat more illegals, third world refugees? So in the end Trump is a totalitarian for actually standing up for the American Citizen and Taxpayer. And now for the first time in my life a President is standing up for the Americas and the 15 or so countries that want their own self rule as well a free market trading. His final thesis is that Trump is a white-supremacist (maybe he is thinking of the 19th century White Mans Burden) for even thinking he has the “responsibility to protect” US Americans above all other Americas citizens. Is this not the argument "stolen land" and Fuck Ice? The US Citizen has NO right(s) to sovereignty, to rule of law, or to economic benefits as all of these are just white-supremacist ideas that do not belong in a (post)modern world. ---- I think it is another effort to secure the narrative of "white colonialiser bad". It isn't logical so it is hard to follow. >>>It is of no use to those presiding over a swift and brutal reversal of racial progress. It should not surprise us how quickly the nineteenth-century prejudice that white men should dominate “inferior” Africans, Asians, and Latin American peoples has become common sense for much of Western politics and journalism ---- First: reversal of racial progress? Please tell me more because I suspect my definition of this term will be quite different from the author's. Second: where are these white men who are saying they must dominate the "inferiors"? If the author is referring to the Iran action, the author is wrong. That action was taken, as far as I can tell, because of a perceived threat which is not a desire to dominate. Islam was established before the state of Israel so I'm curious how the "destroy Israel, enter 12th Imam" came about.
There was no state of Israel at the time of the Holocaust, yet enough Germans found it acceptable to round Jews up and execute them. Maybe the problem isn't "Israel" its a problem of Satan still grinding his axe against God's Chosen People. Of all the people groups and ethnicities that has ever inhabited the Earth, its the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who are promised to be around to the End of Days. No guarantees for any other exist, with the possible exception of Ishmael's descendants mostly because there is no sunset language in the Genesis prophecy about them infesting and tearing up every nation with their existence. Who lost whom?
I tend to go by the teaching of the Apostles (Sola Scriptura). Once any entity says that Holy Tradition and Ex Cathedra statements have the same or greater authority than the Scriptures, there is a problem. From a logical standpoint, if a book is left open for anyone to write in, then people will write things in. There doesn't have to be coherence once the authority of Scriptures is subordinated to contemporary thought and culture. (think: syncretism to pagan practices) Why does the EO look at "sin" as "missing the mark" when the Latin church made it a penal issue? Rome left the EO when they decided they wanted to build a religion on Latin rather than the original languages. (that, and the Great Schism) The Reformation stripped out all of the detritus and yeeted out the non apostolic additions (eg Purgatory) to restore which once was. So is it the Latin Mass or Vatican 2 which is the genuine thing? Posted by: Unknown Drip Under Pressure at March 07, 2026 12:19 PM (a4flb) 100

Have you even read the 10 Commandments? It says right, in the preamble: "I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you from the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery" Before issuing out an Antinomian slur, consider Matthew 5, harmonizing with the New Covenant that says the Spirit will first bring the dead spirit to life then write the Law on the Believer's heart (meaning this is more than head knowledge, but becomes part of the externally regenerated Will - something absent in pre 70AD Judaism) Posted by: Unknown Drip Under Pressure at March 07, 2026 12:26 PM (a4flb) 118

Posted by: K.T. at 11:00 AM Is Marxism a pseudo-secular crypto-religion, or is Islam a crypto-secular pseudo-religion? This apparent dilemma can be resolved by recognizing that it is based on a category error: they are both confidence schemes, not proper ideologies. I assert that Marxism and Islam are correctly understood as organized criminal rackets -- albeit spectacular, whole-of-society grifts that take all of a nation's accumulated wealth and enslave the populace on top of it, for the benefit of the insider clique with its hands on the apparatus of control. As such, they are based on cynical "nihilistic lying," where they might not even know whether their own words are true, and they certainly don't care. The victims in this arrangement are being punished for deigning to object albeit only verbally. This was the plan to begin with, as the conflict was inevitable. I read somewhere that once people absorb antisemitic ideas, they are unreachable by logic, or historical argumentation, or anything like that. They become so fused to the conspiratorial, it becomes a crutch (not intellectual, there is nothing intellectual about it). No need to do anything, accept any responsibility, here is your answer! And there is always this very easy "theory". Honed by thousands of years of hate, either coming from religious or political authorities. Religious would push replacement "theology", political would, rather then solve their own problems , point a finger to the "real culprits". We are seeing it today, of course.

For the cities I've seen the figures for you could make a dramatic difference with under 100 people rounded up. If I remember right, solid gains are possible up through 500-ish in most places. Posted by: Ian S. at March 07, 2026 12:31 PM (QZThv) 134

That list of 'right wing' books doesn't surprise me but is still sickening. Britain has about a dozen living people I care about, mostly poets, and a history of literature that has shaped and enriched western civilization in a positive way for centuries. If those few people are safe and the literature secured, the whole place can rot in the hell they have created for themselves. I would not mourn the loss for more than a moment. Britain's sole value right now is to serve as a warning about what to avoid here.

The Jolly Roger is a symbol that has been used by submarines, primarily those of the Royal Navy Submarine Service and its predecessors. The practice came about during World War I: remembering a 1901 complaint by Admiral Sir Arthur Wilson that submarines were "underhanded, unfair, and damned un-English" and that submarine personnel should be hanged as pirates, Lieutenant Commander Max Horton began flying the flag after returning from successful patrols

"People are as happy as they make up their mind to be." - A. Lincoln
IIRC, Lincoln suffered from depression, so to me, this statement sounds like wish casting. And yes, as in all things, a relationship with God is the answer. Also, as with all things, a relationship with God doesn't make all problems go away. And also, those problems can be an avenue to a stronger relationship to God. Personally I encourage sympathy and not judgment for depression, encourage turning to God while not neglecting tangible solutions as well. So, what I hear from those of this view is "I have faith, so I want to please God because I love Him, so I do things that I know He would like me to, but it's not "works"." Trees bear fruit as to what type of tree they are. So a tree that has been made by God to bear fruit should indeed bear fruit. I think the hang up here for you is that "works" are redemptive despite "all of our works are as filthy rags" (Is 64:6) Works follow faith, are a result of a regeneration of the spirit. Lets say that a person struggles with sexual sin. They would say "I don't want to be a Christian because then I would have to give up adultery, and I don't want to". But what if the desire went away because of spiritual regeneration and renewal of the Will rather than constantly battling an carnal Will? Works? What if with a renewed will you saw a person in need and felt a conviction to fill the need? Work or Fruit? If the Will is bent towards carnality and the rules stipulate that you have to cut back some arbitrary amount, you have the world's religion because the world doesn't recognize spiritual regeneration - the brining of the dead spirit to life. Just like I don't blame Clarence Thomas for the Taney court, why would anyone blame modern Jews because the Sanhedrin decided to be assholes a couple of thousand years ago? (At the same time, why do so many treat Pilate as scum for following the law?)
And yes, both Jewish Law and Christian Teaching encourage one to reject Evil and the habits of Evil. That often governments and societies fail at this, badly, does not mean the rules/teachings do not exist, as some seem to be trying to say. Finally, both Faith and Works are required, per James and Paul - we are saved by Grace but our Grace is only fulfilled when it results in Works! Faith alone, as James says, "is dead". In a coma, at least. Posted by: RandomDave at March 07, 2026 12:39 PM (aJQbY) 149

The test was recommended, because they are discovering a lot with it that helps guides meds--some work great for some folks, and not well for others, and there can be a genetic component to understanding what might work best. (from my experience, psych meds are like an ongoing darts game. It can be very frustrating to be weaned on, check for results, weaned off if necessary, and try again with the same process. In any event, I did NOT click on the video, but I looked up the name. Considering the video, I assumed there would be info on this woman and she would be an infamous sadist or something. Per the wiki entry (which has a picture of her hanging dead), she was a guard for a short time (like 2-3 months.) Supposedly she separated some women in a work camp. She 'said' she was just separating people who could work from those who could not work- but did not know they were going to be gassed. She actually fled from the camp in January of 1945. Nevertheless, when she was caught, they charged her for choosing people to be executed. She appealed, it was rejected and she was hanged. Cont. One of the UK's two aircraft carriers has been placed on advanced readiness to sail from Portsmouth, the BBC understands.
The crew of HMS Prince of Wales have been told they must be ready to leave in five days, defence sources said. This may raise speculation the carrier could be deployed to the Mediterranean to help defend British interests threatened during the conflict in the Middle East. Before this, the ship's "notice to sail" was 14 days. ~ BBC Posted by: one hour sober at March 07, 2026 01:00 PM (Y1sOo) Somehow I think it will the first and only carrier lost in the war. Dorothy Sayers, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Tennyson, all the Inklings, Edmund Spenser, Chaucer, Geoffrey of Monmouth, Kipling, H. Rider Haggard, Chesterton, and probably Winston Churchill. Don't forget J.K. Rowling. Throw in John Constable paintings of British landscapes.

Mexico, and the rest of Latin America have suffered from the long legacy of Spanish Colonial Government for centuries. This was their foundational model, and it is very difficult to break free of. A tightly controlled central government with an intimidating, all encompassing bureaucracy that has its fingers in everything. Also a business structure where all large companies are tied to the central government one way or another, and a culture where government corruption on both the small and large scale is not just endemic, but openly tolerated.
It is very difficult for any system set up like this to ever truly reform. Posted by: Tom Servo at March 07, 2026 01:10 PM (fSA1n) 219

Prior to the revolution of 1979, most academic work, led by Burger, which was built upon the work of Max Weber and Émile Durkheim, assumed that modernization caused religion to retreat from politics as secular regimes rose to power.
I could talk about this all day. That statement above ties into so many things. The love of some for G.K. Chesterton. The broad-sweeping attitudes of various generations. How we are at the insanity that so many see now - although there is little agreement across the spectrum of how to define it, just a general agreement to disagree that everything is falling apart without getting into the details. That one sentence above explains so much. Posted by: And I Would Love To at March 07, 2026 01:17 PM (VK2pC) 233

He is the most loathsome, hateful, divisive and purposeful subversive our country has ever elected. He will stop at nothing to undermine our republic by using the people as his weapon.
If you don’t believe me, take the time to go back and review the state of race relations, and the general divisions in our country prior to his election. You will find his policies and rhetoric not only undermined our unity, but he used the goodwill some people handed him to do it. They trusted him, and he expressed his thanks by using the auspices of government to wage a war against the people. I take some herbal supplements that are supposed to be good for anxiety and lifting my mood. I did not do this by getting blood tests and using an expert, but just searching the internet and trying things so I won't list what I'm using, and I wouldn't recommend this method of trying herbal compounds for others, even though what I'm taking is helping me for now. I went this route mostly because of fear of getting dependent on a prescription and then it becoming unavailable due to Chi-com actions, figured the herbs would stay available. I did not seek out a naturopath? I think it would be, because busy and didn't want to spend the time to do it plus I'm bull-headed. I think both herbs and prescription medicines can be helpful. Having something to take the edge off helped with getting out more and getting that emotional benefit.

Posted by: AmericanKestrel at March 07, 2026 01:14 PM Yes, you're referring to the viral AI-generated character Amelia (often called "Amelia AI" or the "purple-haired goth schoolgirl"), who originated from a UK Home Office-funded counter-extremism video game called Pathways (or Game Pathways). The game aimed to deter young people from far-right extremism, but it massively backfired. Amelia became a huge meme and symbol among online right-wing / anti-immigration communities in late 2025 / early 2026. People started creating and sharing AI videos of her spouting exaggerated patriotic, anti-mass migration rhetoric in a posh British accent. In one of the most popular clips (widely shared on X, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), Amelia says something along the lines of: "Curry is fine, but we have several recipes already. We don't need 2 million Indians here to make it for us." Grok: https://bit.ly/4be8QUy Video (Instagram): https://bit.ly/3OWPeN9 Posted by: Clyde Shelton at March 07, 2026 01:21 PM (P5BPp) 248

Logically, the answer seems obvious. But it also means that, like the Founders, we must be prepared spiritually to make very difficult decisions. That's a tougher slog when our personal inertia has had us primarily focused on taking care of our families. It ultimately boils down to whether we truly trust in Divine Providence.... I have no wasp troubles on my balcony, because the big fat bumbling white faced carpenter bees wage very effective war against them. Last year grandgirl was on the balcony with me, and one did its usual fly-up-and-hover to fake us out (they do not sting, just act aggressive as part of their process), and she got a bit nervous. I told her to come sit by me, because they are my friends who keep the wasps away. She did, and while watching them asked, with great hopeful six year old skepticism, "Okay granny, but are they MY friends?" I still smile every time I see one of my guard bees. My old granny was a typical white woman afraid of black men. She would cross the street so she wouldn't get stabbed, or burned or pimp slapped. I called her "Toot".
And Barry didn't invent that little trick either. The rhetorical act of pretending that groups - as a group - don't act like groups. I'd advise any woman to cross the street to get away of a group of black boys at night. Or a group of white boys dressed a certain way, for that matter. Or a group of goth girls. Or a group of heavy-set sturdy girls with hair colors not in the natural-for-human spectrum. And that act began in the 60s as well. Posted by: Blonde Morticia at March 07, 2026 01:28 PM Grok summary: No, Ilhan Omar is not being prosecuted by the Department of Justice (DOJ). Recent reports from early 2026 indicate that the DOJ opened an investigation into her finances, campaign spending, and possible interactions with a foreign citizen during the Biden administration (starting in 2024). However, credible sources like The New York Times describe this inquiry as having stalled or appeared to stall due to a lack of evidence. President Trump publicly referenced and amplified claims of an ongoing DOJ probe (often tied to questions about her reported wealth increase and unrelated Minnesota fraud scandals), but no official DOJ announcements, indictments, or active prosecutions against her have been confirmed. Sure. And by the 80s some of us closer to 29s were looking at our dads skeptically while Donna Summer was on the TV. Yes - things were better in the late 80s and early 90s. But that doesn't mean they were good. Race still got you five points on your promotion packet. Race was still the tie-breaker. This idea that everything was just great until that damn Barry Sortero. It gets tired. The same as the Everything was great until Clinton argument. It wasn't. And the seeds were sown in the 60s. No wonder certain folks want to swear everything was perfect until 1/1/70. I tried 5-HTP when I was in a period of anxiety and every little thing made me want to "Hulk smash" I dropped that after a bit because I felt like it was making me too lazy. Or maybe it, along with the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution, and even the American Revolution mere displays the viability of being the first comprehensive entity that can put together a national upheaval.

Posted by: Mike Hammer, etc., etc. at March 07, 2026 02:07 PM The Camp of the Saints (original French title: Le Camp des Saints) is a 1973 dystopian novel by French author and explorer Jean Raspail (1925–2020). It is a highly controversial work of speculative fiction that depicts the collapse of Western civilization — specifically France and broader Europe — due to an overwhelming wave of mass immigration from the Third World. Upon release, the book was a bestseller in France but faced sharp criticism for its racist depictions and xenophobic themes. Groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center have long described it as a "racist fantasy" popular among white supremacists and anti-immigration extremists, comparing it to The Turner Diaries as an analog in far-right circles. It gained renewed attention in the 2010s amid European migrant crises, with figures on the populist right hailing it as "prophetic." Marine Le Pen (France's National Rally) has kept a signed copy and referenced its ideas. Grok: https://bit.ly/4lj3z2A Posted by: Clyde Shelton at March 07, 2026 02:32 PM (P5BPp) 312

Sounds like The Turner Diaries is another must-read.
In essence, The Camp of the Saints is a passive nightmare of demographic conquest through immigration, warning that the West will commit cultural suicide if it doesn't harden itself. The Turner Diaries is an active fantasy of revolutionary triumph through terrorism and genocide, providing a supposed roadmap for white supremacists to seize power. Both remain polarizing: critics view them as dangerous racist propaganda that normalizes hate and violence, while some on the far right see them as prescient warnings or heroic narratives. Their enduring presence in extremist ecosystems underscores how fiction can shape ideology and, tragically, action. If you're exploring these for research or literary analysis, approach with caution — they contain extreme, graphic content. There are no "good guys" in power. If only those older than us had understood. Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. So bitch about Government all you want. But start posting bills, or even stand in the Common Square, and start talking about how My Momma' is Whore ? Or, as posted, my elimination ? My murder ? Then Johnny Law just needs to go home. And let nature take its course. And if Johnny Law does not ? Then Johnny Law is the same problem here that he is in England. Add Caliphate by Tom Kratman to your reading list of dystopian novels of a future with a large portion of formerly semi-Christian secular nations overrun by Islam.
Unfortunately, plausible. Posted by: buddhaha at March 07, 2026 03:28 PM (sR2WI) 335

That's a rhetorical question. Of course you would. Posted by: And I Would Love To at March 07, 2026 04:29 PM (VK2pC) 338

Ha ha. I talk to no manager( and that s all I read if your last post ) . I just notice it which is reinforced by your telling other posters how the baby boomers finally woke up, but you got it all along.

Posted by: KT at March 07, 2026 04:30 PM (7vIsy) Don't care. When a core group is using the text ... the koran ... to justify whipping your ass ? Bringing up nuanced points about how they ain't interpreting their own faith correctly is a losing strategy. The kind that ends up with some factually accurate folks taking a walk into the camps. The Mullah's Twelver stuff is worse. Responsibility to bring chaos on the whole world, etc. And they are financing most of the Sunni terrorists. Posted by: KT at March 07, 2026 05:22 PM (7vIsy) 342

One wacky exercise is to look at how countries in the West changed who they supported (and when they supported both sides (or three sides if you count the Marxists) in the Iran-Iraq war. Posted by: KT at March 07, 2026 05:25 PM (7vIsy) 343

I watched the West change sides as Jimmy Carter left the Shah to twist in the wind in '78. While Americans were held hostage on live TV for over a year. Watched no less than Walter Fuckin' Cronkite try to spin it. While my elders ate that shit up - just like they did every evening their entire lives. I tire - I really tire - of all this "America wasn't betrayed by my Generation" bullshit. Posted by: And I Would Love To at March 07, 2026 05:34 PM (VK2pC) 345
And some of us are tired of you talking about it, AIWLT. You are not going to convince all the baby boomers, no matter how much you blame them for all thinking the same thing or believing the same thing. Find some way to deal with decades of disappointment and hurt and anger with parents and whomever else let you down.

The we finally - in the macro - understand each other. You think, generationally, that your shit never stank and we should all enjoy the taste of it. And just about everybody else a decade or two younger just wishes you'd shut up - and better yet - get out of the way. And that about covers it. Senate Majority Leader John Thune Blocks President Trump's Recess Appointments
Last updated 5 minutes ago Senate Majority Leader John Thune prevented President Trump from making recess appointments. This action contrasts with historical uses by previous presidents, such as Bill Clinton's 139 and George W. Bush's 171 recess appointments, while Trump has made zero. The obstruction has impacted unfilled positions, including ambassador roles in the Middle East. X: https://bit.ly/4s4XCZS Posted by: Clyde Shelton at March 07, 2026 06:41 PM (P5BPp) 349
