![]() ![]() I am a long time lurker on your site, Patriot in Charlston, S.C. Never get tired of reading your snarky clips. Here is a kitty. We are fostering who is named after Schrodinger‘s cat Irvin! I never thought I could like a black cat but this little guy is so affectionate and fun. It’s going to be hard to give him up.A charmer! Such a great kitty to foster! ![]() ![]() Lily Beagle 2015-2026 She was a good dog with lots of quirks. She always wore a basket muzzle outside since she ate whatever came near her mouth. New Year's Day 2025 was a trip to the emergence vet since she ate a wad of thin wire. Not much of a cuddler until her last few days when she became very sick. Not much of a barker or howler even thought she was a blue tick beagle and our last beagle buddy Daisy howled at the drop of a hat. She will be sorely missed and the house is too damned quiet. I'm attaching her puppy picture and one from two weeks ago before her health got really bad. neverenoughcaffeineA wonderful tribute to Lily. Thanks for sharing her with us. What a darling pup! ![]() Hi there! Mostly a lurker! Sometimes I leave a comment on threads as tb24601. Anywho! Here’s a Petmoron if there ever was one, my cat, Freddie. Hello!
I have 2 dogs, George and Gracie, and George just had a growth removed. I'm curious if anyone here has experience with mushroom powder for inflammation or can recommend a great food for allergic dogs as that it a potential cause of this. With the new schedule, Robert the Cat has decided that lying down on my chest for petting is a good thing.
Before, he would stand on my chest. Having 15 pounds concentrated into four small points is something the Inquisition should have invented. Posted by: BeckoningChasm at January 17, 2026 03:28 PM (CHHv1) 9

I liked the video of mama cat dragging the pillow and with the kittens. I'm glad someone adopted them. Very nice picture of black cat who is lovely.,
And of the cat hanging upside down to drink the water. Sorry about Lily Beagle, nev She was very cute, and I like the tail of the lizard hanging out from under the blanket, Posted by: FenelonSpoke at January 17, 2026 03:29 PM (Nx5jP) 11

Unusual.
Orange tabbies, considered (correctly) by many to be the best cats, are odd in that due to where the genes are located, the overwhelming majority of them are male. That is not only a female orange tabby, the entire litter looks like orange tabbies (maybe one spotted cat, not sure). That cat family has *all* the recessives. Took Ruby and Piper into the field behind our house. The snow is about 2 feet deep. They enjoyed it very much, and were fully covered in snow when they returned home.
Yesterday Ruby went critter hunting and found a mouse or a vole in the raspberry bushes. Flung it up in the air as she does, which attracted Piper to the hunt. They are certainly winter dogs, those two. Posted by: tcn in AK at January 17, 2026 03:38 PM (6Bc88) 16

The cold snap hit last night. Down to 12 degrees with 20+mph winds. I had the new cat in the crate last night. She took it pretty well, although not happy. She's been inside, loose in the house most of the day. I will try and get her in to be spayed next week. No name for her yet.

Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at January 17, 2026 03:38 PM (GyQIQ) Mimi was an orange tabby. But then, so was Hobbes. My former neighbor has a jack Russell terrier. For his first 5 years of life, every breath was a bark. Nonstop.
There were a couple of times I'd let the gate open so he could roam and shut the fuck. Nice little friendly doggie. Nobody played with him that I ever saw. Sad. Posted by: Rev. Wishbone at January 17, 2026 03:53 PM (BSdIE) 30
Penny was a Pit bitch. I met her at my brother's house. They took in foster dogs. After 3 days (it was a week of golf) Penny just loved me so much. I said that I had to consult my wife about adopting her.
Wife was very happy with the idea. My brother actually delivered her, even though it was a 500 mile drive. Penny was so wonderful. Very protective of the family. My daughter, who Penny already knew was part of the pack, came to the home and Penny was barking and menacing, and when my daughter came in, she was ecstatic with happiness and kisses. My favorite thing about turtles is the videos of this one pet turtle where they gave it a miniature skateboard and it turned out to be hypersocial, following the cat everywhere. You just couldn't tell before, because it was so slow.

I used to take my kittehs for walks during the day where I let them explore within my eyesight . Since I moved out of the city to a place with a few eagles and a lot of hawks I can't take the sister kitteh out . I know she looks just like a juicy white rabbit from up above. The brother kitteh is a 23lb grey tabby so I'm not worried about him.

Hi KT, an update on Zeke, who you posted about on November 1 of last year. Turns out Zeke is quite a deer dog. My son-in-law shot a deer last weekend which took off after being shot. I went out with Zeke, and when we found blood where the deer had been hit, he pulled me about 50 yards through the pine forest straight to that deer.

Busy, busy, spensive cat month. 1/10 took Zero (Babymonster) to the Human Society for spaying and shots. She's recovering in the basement. I am hoping one of my friends can adopt here. 1/13 - Bravo and Charlie to the vet for annual check up and shots. 1/24 - Sakura going to the vet for an exam and shots to see if she can be welcomed into the household.

I know this is a pet thread, but I'll just answer briefly. Because God is not a human mother or father. The Bible does talk about God as a mother hen in Matthew 24:37 and references that in Psalm 91:4. I haven't really researched it but there is an article on "How to overcome a distorted view of God as father" by Rachel Britton. . I am guessing the same sort of thinking can be applied to one's mother. I am very sorry your mother was lacking but God loves you. Posted by: FenelonSpoke at January 17, 2026 04:09 PM (ix8EF) 39

Fen. I acquired Rose as a runaway when I was on vacation at Rose Lake. It just seemed to fit her at the time. After a few months I should have picked Devil, she was a little devil. We've kept the naming after flowers for our dogs ever since.

Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at January 17, 2026[/o] *** Afternoon, pet folken! A female orange tabby? Mrs. Wolfus No. 1's cat Mitzi was one. Looked very much like the one in the video. She was sweet, good-natured (though she once wanted to go out and fight a raccoon!), and average in smarts. Though she did have one trick. She knew how to stand on her hind legs, grasp a doorknob, and turn it enough to release the catch and let her go through the now-open door.
