Full-Tilt Left-Wing "Fact" Checker Glenn Kessler Takes the Buyout and Leaves the Washington Post

From Instapundit.

As you know, the Washington Post sent out an email telling its woke staffers that they should accept the "voluntary" buyout package if they felt they could not "align" with the Post's new non-woke agenda. The not-so-subtle implication was: Either take the buyout or you'll be fired and just get the customary two-weeks' paycheck.

All of the left-wing propagandists are outing themselves, resigning because they know for a fact they cannot be objective and do not wish to be. They wish to be paid propagandists.

The Washington Post will not be replacing Kessler with another "fact" checker. Apparently the Post's new management has realized that left-wing "fact" checking is just Democrat-Communist propaganda dressed up to look like neutral reportage.

Kessler made that fact painfully clear, even to the water-heads of the Washington Post.

glennkesslerviruscantcomefromlab.jpg

glennkesslercheapfake.jpg

Of course he's also a George Soros minion, denying that Soros funds the politicians he funds.

Kessler is claiming that Soros doesn't fund Alvin Bragg. They always make claims like this -- Soros' Open Society Foundation funds the Workers and Family Party which in turn funds and supports left-wing Soros Prosecutors. See? No funding here at all! Totally false! Four Pinocchios!

Fact-checking the fake "fact" checker with actual facts:

factcheckingglennkessler.jpg

The Daily Mail:

The Washington Post's chief fact checker accepted a buyout and is leaving the newspaper without a replacement.

Owner Jeff Bezos and CEO Will Lewis have taken a slew of recent steps to try and help the paper shed its left-wing reputation.

Glenn Kessler, editor and chief writer of The Fact Checker, announced on Monday that he is leaving the Post.

'After more than 27 years at The Washington Post, including almost 15 as The Fact Checker, I will be leaving on July 31, having taken a buyout,' Kessler said on Facebook.

'Much as I would have liked to keep scrutinizing politicians in Washington, especially in this era, the financial considerations were impossible to dismiss.'

The fact checker said he tried to help the newspaper find his replacement, but was unsuccessful.

'I didn't want The Post to have a gap in fact-checking coverage during this fraught period in U.S. history. But we couldn't work out an agreement,' Kessler said.

I interpret that this way: Kessler wanted the buyout because he knew he would be fired in August if he didn't take it, but "offered" to keep doing left-wing "fact" checks until they found a replacement for him.

And management told him "No thanks, we're good, clear out your desk."

'In 2018, when the Fact Checker team was compiling a database of more than 30,000 Trump claims, I told the New York Times that "I have the best job in journalism."

Of course! You're a bitter left-wing propagandist who was paid to type up bitter left-wing propaganda talking points from the DNC.

'I still believe that, and I'm sorry to leave without a replacement lined up. But it's the right time for me. I hope The Post finds someone to carry on this important project.'

...

'When I started in 2011, there were only a handful of fact-checking organizations around the world, and I have been thrilled to watch the movement expand across the globe. So many of these brave and diligent fact checkers have become good friends,' Kessler said.

Yeah I'll bet. I would bet that, besides being "friends," you're all open political allies, all are in the same slack channels coordinating the same talking points from the same "experts," aka "Democrat-Communist Party approved shills."

58 The rise in "fact-checkers" in the media exactly coincided with the public's ability to independently verify news reports.
And include information the media excluded.

And that was unacceptable.

My favorite fact-check from the media was the "Trump has lied 40,000 times."
Oh how the lefties loved passing that around as truth.
And like 17,000 of those were because they counted every time he said "build the wall and make Mexico pay for it" at every speech as another lie.

60 'When I started in 2011, there were only a handful of fact-checking organizations around the world, and I have been thrilled to watch the movement expand across the globe.“

I’m continually impressed, though not in a good way, at just how much horse-shit leftists can pack into a given sentence. They are not generally men of few words either. Just layers and layers of nonsense, carefully built up over the years, into things “everyone knows”, yet never seem to hold up under any sort of scrutiny. It’s uncanny.

They always use the same playbook. Much more effective, or perhaps only effective, with a captured media. Which is what he’s getting at. During the McCarthy hearings in the 1950s, and the concurrent House Committee hearings on Un-American Activities, they played the “that’s been debunked” card early, and often. Attack the messenger. Don’t dispute the documents, just focus on “where did you get them”. Character assassinations. Investigate the investigators. They have a bag of tricks, tried and true, and refined for 21st century comms.

But let me clarify, I'm calling for the release of all the Epstein information they got. But I also like what Tulsi and others are releasing. It's silly to say that this documentation only "distracts" from something the Democrats ignored for 4 years. It's just the type of thing the media can say to shallow in-flow thinkers and non-thinkers.

I'm for the maximum bulk of information to be released. So, I'm willing to wait on an Epstein release. Because a lot more than Epstein has to be fumigated.

Shipping pills is commerce--the only question is whether the dormant commerce clause applies (which it apparently does not in Raich at least), or the feds have eliminated the state's abilities to regulate that particular item in interstate commerce.

Easy way to think of it--whether California makes it legal to smoke dope does not make it legal under federal law and if you ship dope to Texas, both the sender and the receiver in Texas can be imprisoned and charged on the state and federal level. See Wickard v. Filburn and Raich v. Gonzalez. Doubt the current Scotus is going to overturn either of them.

The problem with the commerce clause is more that it began to include things that never were commerce. Arguably the EC Knight decision was par for the course from the Fuller court as a bad decision. It is clear from the Founders that they intended the commerce clause to be force majeure over making the US a solid internal trading block. Since states already regulated commerce within their states, it could continue but when the feds exercise their power--it is and should be supreme. Gibbons v. Ogden is a cromulent decision explaining how it works.

The whole Academy thing has been kicked around for years, right around when Shatner & Co were getting seriously expensive. I was an economics major back a ways, and the traditional treatment of tariffs was globalist in perspective. E.g. libertarian on open borders for trade and immigration and interventionist in internal economic regulations.

None of those macroeconomic textbooks ever had the slightest relationship toward the real world but instead was entranced by their macro models and examining statistical entrails to determine how to diagnose our economy.

Heck, my openly Marxist macro economics professor was more based in reality than the technocrats in that department.

There were a few sound older professors in History of Economic thought and Public Choice aka public finance.

It has gotten worse since then, including those at the Fed--they simply cannot comprehend that the world is more complex than their models and that history, as always, should be the guide.

One of the actors in Section 31 said during the press junket that Kurtzman admitted to him during the audition process that Star Trek was dead.

"Over 200 illegal alien sex offenders have been arrested in the Houston, Texas, area in just the last six months alone.
The 214 predators arrested by ICE “have been charged or convicted of a sex offense involving a minor,” according to a press release from the agency.

ICE noted, “The 214 arrests were more than the Houston field office arrested during the entire 2024 fiscal year, when officers there arrested 211 illegal aliens charged or convicted of child sex offenses.”

The agency credited the Trump administration’s “whole-of-government approach” for being able to arrest the dangerous illegal aliens by conducting “daily enhanced immigration enforcement operations” that targeted the “worst of the worst” for arrest and removal."

382 BREAKING: A federal judge has just BLOCKED President Trump from defunding Planned Parenthood
Posted by: Don Black

Why it's unconstitutional to cut Planned Parenthood's funding.

Bonchie@bonchieredstate
This may be the most baseless, insane ruling I've ever seen.
This Biden-appointed judge ruled *Congress* can't defund Planned Parenthood because it might lead to "unintended pregnancies" and less access to contraceptives.
Holy crap.

-
It's in the E Pluribus Boinkem clause. After all, you can't spell fun without funding!

386 It worked gang-busters for them for ~80 years. But they're becoming the French against German machine guns adhering to their legacy of success of the "Bayonet Charge"!
Posted by: Axeman at July 28, 2025 02:48 PM (krQz2)

Not really fair to the French, They'd worked out fire and maneuver to take on machine guns. However, the British decided teaching those tactics to new recruits couldn't be done because new recruits weren't smart enough to grasp the principles.

Now there's something, defending the French over the British.

Actually, that *all* they send.

Joe didn't tackle inflation. He passed an "Inflation Reduction bill" which was actually a Ukraine-funding bill and a Green Manifesto. They named something something and told people it would handle the thing it was named for. Meanwhile there was all this mysterious destruction of egg farms.

Trump's foreign policy is grounded in vengeance and political theater.
Instead of promoting America's interests, the Republicans' foreign operations bill shrugs, cedes key ground to adversaries, and lets chaos unfold.

399 What I am puzzled by is that Jurassic dinosaur movies are utterly terrible and stupid, but always make tons of money. Why doesn't any OTHER studio make dinosaur movies??
_____________ ______________

I assume JP has copyrighted the Dinosaur Theme Park and genetically recreated dinosaur movie concept. Otherwise, not a lot to work with.

- People time travel to dinosaur times. None of these movies seem to work.
- Alt History where the Chixulub meteor missed and dinosaurs coexist with people. Too high concept for modern (stupid) audiences.
- A time-rift opens letting dinosaurs into the present.

It's just hard to come up with a premise that doesn't infringe on JP and is commercially viable.

400 280 272 A female Jem'Hadar? Do they allow her to take Ketracil White in Stat Fleet Academy? They just keep getting dumber
Posted by: Smell the Glove at July 28, 2025 02:22 PM (hIY2p)

I thought the Jem'Hadar were bred by the founders to be drug addicted super soldiers.

Were there ANY female Jem'Hadar in DS9? Why would they need females at all? They were created in cloning-tube looking things.
=======
Jemhadar were not interested in seks, that was reserved for the Wey-un types (I can't remember the race, the Vorta?). All were cloned.
