My brother bought me an amp for my car stereo back in my late teens. I built a box for a pair of 10" MTX Blue Thunders and put it in the trunk of my 66 Mustang. I put fans on the amp to attempt cooling and went on my way.
He had bought the extended warranty on the unit, which ended up being brilliant. I came home one day and the amp quit playing. I checked the fuse and replaced it. Back in business! I left home and was jamming to Ozzy's "No More Tears" at earsplitting volume when this odd noise came through and everything folded. I stopped, opened the trunk and was greeted with a MASSIVE wall of white smoke.
I shipped the amp back to my brother who said there were a couple weeks left on the warranty. They repaired it, but accosted my brother upon returning it DEMANDING to know what was done to it as I melted the legs off ever MOSFET transistor in the thing and it cost twice as much as the amp was worth to repair it.

Trump knows exactly what treason means. He's using it because it's catchier than 'sedition' and more attention-grabbing than 'insurrection', which is what the Dems have been using for four years.
What's most interesting is that Trump is even using the word at all. Bongino and Patel (and Bondi) specifically brought up Epstein in a way that Trump never did, so he didn't have to get dragged into actions that they may or may not have committed to. If Trump himself is using the word 'treason', that tells me that he intends to do something against his attackers, and that his underlings need to follow his lead.

What's most interesting is that Trump is even using the word at all. Bongino and Patel (and Bondi) specifically brought up Epstein in a way that Trump never did, so he didn't have to get dragged into actions that they may or may not have committed to. If Trump himself is using the word 'treason', that tells me that he intends to do something against his attackers, and that his underlings need to follow his lead.

I think he actually commented on that irony once upon a time. One of the other few great conservative reporters was Robert Novak (who was not the surly guy he played on tv but actually a solid reporter in print in the DC area). I was reading something about the seizure and at the end they admitted that they had added papers to the boxes as they seized them. But they neglected instruction to document just what they did and thus the case was struck down. My guess is just like in the impeachment where Trump releasing the convo with Zelensky before Bearclaw could delete or modify the record they were trying to insert incriminating data.

After the 2020 election but before leaving office Trump appointed two people, Kash Patel and John Solomon, to work to get all the documents Trump had declassified about the Russia hoax. At the time Solomon reported there were enough documents to fill a large binder.
Don't forget, at the time of the raid Trump was suing Hillary in a Florida court over the Russia crap. If he had those documents I'm sure he would have used them in that case.

They make Nixon's notorious enemies list look pedestrian because the lefties actually went ahead and tried to destroy them legally.
I think some of the federal judges are not far from being charged as well--especially those on the FISA court that signed off on knowingly bad warrants.

If the charges are conspiracy, obstruction of justice, interference with investigations, etc. then not necessarily if they came from a sole illegal act. Despite the hullabaloo about presidential immunity case, it was less than it appears. It gives a presumption (rebuttable) about official acts but absolute only for core constitutional duties. That would be like Nixon going into Cambodia, Reagan firing PATCO workers, etc.
A criminal investigation that was knowingly false and using FISA, NSA intercepts, etc. might not fly if it can be demonstrated that Obama knowingly conspired with those at the meeting to purposefully try to end Trump's presidency using knowingly fraudulent information. That is why Obama is parsing in his statement. He intends to claim ignorance, but that is where his underlings are vulnerable and documents may be relied upon to rebut that claim.

Some of the others, may very well get sued personally, and face similar procedural charges for what they did.
