The girl with the dark short hair, over near the left edge of the scene, reminds me of the young Shirley Maclaine. The one on the far right, in the gray smock trimmed with yellow, brings Judy Garland to mind.

The fellow with the whitened face, just above Morticia and Ugly Ears Guy? In a few years, he will enthusiastically embrace National Socialism.

That's one option for non-meat gelatin. There is also gelatin made from fish bones.

And of course, there is gelatin made from the bones of kosher animals and poultry slaughtered according to Jewish law. And example would be the bone broth I make, which while impure, gels quite nicely in the fridge. Of course, its taste is not neutral at all.

Could another artist have taken the same theme and made something thst doesn't suck? Is there anything in your life that this item reflects?

Of course, I personally just go for the low-hanging fruit and make snarky comments without any actual depth.

Excellent question. You should ask G-d. It's right there in the Bible!

And no reason is given. Some will offer that it is for health reasons. That checks out a lot of the time but not always. Others will explain it may have to do with socially isolating Jews from gentiles. Could be but that doesn't compute when food is kosher.

But the bottom line is because G-d said so. There are a number of such commandments in the Torah. They fall under a category of commandments called "Chukim", usually translated as "statutes." See for example Leviticus 26:46:

"These are the statutes and ordinances and laws, which the LORD made between Him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses."

202 Dickinson’s mother died of TB when he was 12. His father married a much younger woman, so maybe the anniversary of Edwin’s mother’s death. His artist friend Groesbeck died in the Argonne Forest battle in 1918. The Groesbeck family gave some of the insurance death benefit to Dickinson, who visited G’s grave on the trip, as well as saw one of his own paintings displayed in Paris. I chose to designate the third figure in the central triangle to be his fallen friend.
Interesting and challenging work.

207 Speaking of parties...

Can cocktails save American Parties?

https://cocktailswithsuderman.substack.com/p/can

-cocktails-solve-the-party-crisis

The answer is Yes!!!

In my travels through life, one thing I've learned is that everyone, everyone!!!!!, loves a well-made cocktail.

And while it's the rare party where I waltz in and don't dominate the scene with my sparkling naturalfake personality, rugged good looks, and excellent sense of humor, it does happen on occasion(!).

This is where cocktails come in:
1)They give you something to do...especially if your bored.
2) Like African antelope of the savanna party-goers gather around the watering hole, so-
3) it gives you an opportunity to meet new people especially the ladies
4) A great and new (for the drinker) will often spark a conversation.

Of course, you have to know your audience. Some folks don't like gin. Some don't like scotch or bourbon. CBD's lips will explode if they touch Campari...apparently.

Learn to make 5-10 great cocktails and your Party Life will improve exponentially.

No idea if this is correct, but... via Grok:

The primary reason for cooking kosher food is to adhere to Jewish dietary laws, known as kashrut, which are rooted in the Torah and Jewish tradition. These laws, detailed in texts like Leviticus and Deuteronomy, outline what foods are permissible (e.g., animals with split hooves that chew their cud, certain fish, and birds) and how they must be prepared (e.g., no mixing of meat and dairy, specific slaughter methods). The practice reflects spiritual discipline, holiness, and obedience to divine commandments, fostering a connection to Jewish identity and community. Some also view it as promoting ethical treatment of animals and mindfulness in eating.

211 The corporate and government anti-white propaganda is disturbing, because it was almost entirely covert and implied for so long. Now it’s right out in the open and overt.

White folks should be seen and not heard. Er, white folks shouldn’t be seen or heard. That’s pretty crazy. It’s part of the classic “otherization” playbook that always plays out the same way. Whether it’s Uganda, Yugoslavia, Russia, Germany, China, Cuba, Cambodia Bosnia, etc. It’s always the same and always ends the same way, a pile of skulls.

Sarajevo hosted the Olympics one year, and within a couple more was completely sealed off, in a siege, with artillery raining down on a modern city. Low crawling and running to get groceries.

289 James Fishback on X -

I’ve watched every Fed press conference since they began in 2011. I spent a decade trading interest rate derivatives. Following the Fed was literally my full-time job. Yesterday was the most confusing, bizarre, and blatantly political Fed press conference I’ve ever seen.

Jerome Powell keeps moving the goalposts from meeting to meeting to justify keeping rates at 20-year highs—the lower-than-expected inflation data be damned! Why? It looks like an effort to sabotage President Trump and his economic agenda. And real people are paying the price.

Americans can’t get a home because they can’t afford a mortgage because Powell won’t get off his anti-Trump high horse and lower rates like every single central bank in the West has this year. He’s hurting workers, families, retirees, and businesses small and large.

What Jerome Powell is doing is economically illiterate and deeply un-American.

=====
Each quarter point of interest costs 8 billion bucks per month in additional debt. So, the whole NPR recission bill savings is wiped out by one month of the Fed refusing to lower interest rates by one quarter point. Over a year, about 96 billion plus compounded interest for that quarter point. Take it to a half point, it becomes 192 billion plus interest--a full point then becomes nearly 400 billion per year or so.

Want to cut the current deficit--Trump has done his part, now Powell and his board of sycophants need to go.

Big banks are who Powell and his board of governors are working for. They can park massive reserves at the Fed and get paid for it.

In 2024, Banks earned nearly 180 billion in interest for reserves parked at the Fed. They are on track to earn nearly 140 billion this year.

This practice started in 2008 by a law passed by Congress and this allowed Helicopter Ben Bernanke to follow the ZIRP quantitative easing during the Obammy years while the deficit skyrocketed.

Wrong, Powell can be fired for cause--e.g. he lied in sworn testimony over the cost overruns for the Fed HQ remodeling to Congress and has been referred to the DoJ for prosecution.

If DoJ prosecutes him, that indicates probable cause to do so and thus Powell can be fired on that basis.
